I think it would be technically possible, but I think the reason it hasn't been included in the past is because the Wikipedia list is much more incomplete and giving a number could give a false impression of the number of killings.

So I think we should configure some additional text that basically says "This list currently has XX people. This number reflects the number recorded in the list, not the actual number of people killed by law enforcement." (similar to the text in Template:Lists of killings by law enforcement officers in the United States) Wracking ^💬 15:52, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of killings by law enforcement officers[edit]

When you add an entry on a list of law enforcement killing in the U.S. article, could you please add a description of what happened and properly cite your sources? Putting a ref with just a link in it does not properly add to the article. Also, instead of using a question mark when a variable is not known, use the word "Unknown" instead. Thank you. @The Black Revolutionary 2006, the main thing stopping me from adding a counter would be the lack of technical expertise. I can look into it, but I don't know how to add that type of counter that responds to article content. It doesn't seem too complicated—I'll look into it over the next week and get back to you.
