Image copyright problem with File:Dengeki Novel Prize logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Dengeki Novel Prize logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of Takashi Ōhara

A tag has been placed on Takashi Ōhara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hayate X Blade. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Let's remember WP:BRD. Bold formatting change made that doesn't meet guidelines, so please discuss instead of edit warring. Ask for additional input from the project if more opinions are needed. Note, I'm warning BOTH editors here with 3 reverts for Juhachi, 4 Jump Guru, no warnings left so no actual report will be filed at at this time. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 17:28, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

After taking a quick cursory glance at List of Spice and Wolf episodes (a series that I absolutely adore), I realized that it could quite possibly be taken to FLC. I have therefore uploaded an image and improved both the refs and the lead to fit this bill. Would you be at all interested in trying to move this through FLC with me? I will be nominating it for a Peer Review shortly. NOCTURNENOIR ( t • c ) 02:37, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

I've closed the PR as there have not been responses for over two weeks now. I personally think the list is ready for a FLC, although another copyedit may be needed. I'd nominate it myself, but I haven't done enough substantial work on it and you are the article's main contributor, so if you think it's ready, sent it to FLC and drop me a line. Newtype USA reviews online?

Hi Juhachi, I was wondering if you know a place that would have archives of Newtype USA reviews. Unfortunately, Newtype USA shut down and the website doesn't allow you to access any of the old reviews. Any help finding their reviews online would be much appreciated. Thanks! Also, no need to create a separate talk section on my talk page, I will check back here for your response. -BloodDoll (talk) 00:56, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Have you tried accessing the website through archive.org?-- 01:00, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but the archive has only spotty coverage, some pages are missing entirely. I'm looking for a specific June 2004 review of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for info on reception and unfortunately the archive doesn't have it available. Anywhere else? I tried searching for a review of it on the Japanese website of Newtype using Google Translation (ugh!) but I can't seem to find anything beyond a short review by Ryusuke Hikawa.. -BloodDoll (talk) 01:45, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi again Juhachi, just wanted to let you know that I've concluded short of getting an actual physical copy of the issue, I'm not going to be able to use any of the actual material. However, at least I can reference the fact that it was featured in Newtype USA, with some exclusive cover art. Thanks for your response! -BloodDoll (talk) 15:30, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Munto

Hi
I didn't find the page history of Sora o Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai that needs to be merged into it. Could you use the {{histmerge}} template on Sora o Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (which is the one that needs to be deleted for the history merge), along with the page where the history is?
Thanks, Amalthea 23:43, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, the history was at Sora wo Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai. The page got moved around a couple times. But I need the article to be titled Munto in the end, hence the speedy deletion request.-- 23:46, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok, that seems to be a text merge, not only a copy&paste move? If we would merge those histories we would end up with interleaving revisions from the two articles. The only thing that could be merged without much trouble are the revisions from March 1, but the prior revisions in Sora wo Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai need to stay in a seperate article, so I don't think it's worth it since there needs to be a note somewhere anyway that content from Sora wo Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai was merged into the article.
Also, with all the moving around, I'd really like to see some exchange on some talk page that the other editors agree with the move. Sorry to be a bother, but this one is quite confusing, I'd hate to make it even more so by more unnecessary moves. :)
Cheers, Amalthea 00:17, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
I've deleted Munto, and will let you do the moving. You and Dairi seem to be on good terms, I was just worried with two redirects in a row today that there might be disagreement I was missing. Cheers, Amalthea 00:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai Consolidation Euphoric Epilogue

Salutations, Juhachi!!! I am glad to see that you are doing well for yourself. I am sure that you detected that I have merged the pages for both Munto and Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (whoa, I typed that long title without much outside consultation by myself!!!) last night. I made some minor errors during the merging process, but I successfully pulled it off. I also took the time to do a little housekeeping and cosmetic work. I hope that you are pleased with how I streamlined the general plot. Still, I should indicate that the synopses for both Munto OVAs was there when I started the merging process. I reworded the synopses, but they were not my original idea. Again, I am glad that you are doing well.

Dairi no Kenkyo (talk) 00:15, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Juhachi, there was no need to criticize me that harshly. I was only trying to be of utility to Wikipedia and it cannot be dismissed that it was my first merge operation and that it being somewhat messy is an endemic dynamic that has to be accommodated. Do not worry; I have a steep learning curve and I will build proficiency over time.
Still, I am glad that everything has turned out well in the end. Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai . . . I feel such a sense of fulfillment now that I am able to type such a long Japanese title with a considerable degree of dexterity. Wikipedia rocks!!!

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Suara album -2.JPG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NanohaA'sYuriTalk, My master 17:54, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Sukumo Adabana

I am wondering if you can take a look at it, and point out if there's anything else I need for the article. Other than that I probably need to expand the Reception section a little further, and that I probably need a source for the gameplay section. Thanks. -- クラウド668 22:53, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Time Leap Paradise songs

Hey, uhh, I've probably confused you in IRC, but Time Leap Paradise is not the Xbox 360 port (the port will just be titled as Time Leap). It's actually a sequel/spin-off of sorts. As well, the songs will probably be cover versions by the game's characters instead of the original versions. Sorry for the confusion. -- クラウド668 05:43, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for my poor English first:(

I saw this news and some photos in a Chinese fansite. Fans said there's no information about Angel Beats' studio or director in that magazine. They only know the 企画(not 製作) is Aniplex.

Are you sure your information is correct?

Chinese:

我在中国的爱好者站点上看到过这个新闻和一些照片,但其中并未写明监督和制作,仅知道企划是Aniplex

所以您确定您的信息是正确的吗?

Can you give a quick look at Shuffle!

Hi,

Can give me some help and give a look a Shuffle! as its undergoing GA re-assessment and one of the editor asked if the layout should be reworked mentioning Clannad. I guessed the best was to ask you the Key person. I know you have already Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl to deal with so if you could give Shuffle! a quick look i will be thankful. --KrebMarkt 18:52, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

I have a question, are all the links listed under resources at WP:VN reliable? If so, could you post on the Shuffle re-assessment why it is reliable? Sorry for the trouble. AngelFire3423 (talk) 19:01, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Shuffle! again

Closing to objective but still some obstacles. I'm having a discussion on the most suitable place to put the Musical CDs (not drama or radio ones) in the article. The issue is that Musical CDs were released not just only for Shuffle! but also for other games & anime adaptations. Thanks for your time since i know you are again in the thick of GA re-assessment rescue with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni --KrebMarkt 21:06, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

A quick lesson on commas

I've noticed that you've been consistently misusing commas in a certain key (haha) way. Therefor, I'm offering a friendly reminder on how to properly use them.

Example of misuse from Key (company)
  • Wrong: Key is a Japanese visual novel studio which formed on July 21, 1998 as a brand under the publisher Visual Art's, and is located in Kita, Osaka, Japan.
  • Right: Key is a Japanese visual novel studio which formed on July 21, 1998 as a brand under the publisher Visual Art's and is located in Kita, Osaka, Japan. Comma is removed from after "Visual Art's" and before "and".

Compound sentences (sentences with two or more independent clauses) use a comma before their conjunctions. Commas are not used before conjunctions proceeding dependent clauses (clauses without their own subjects).

  • Wrong: My cat is named Harold, and lives in Tokyo. "lives in Tokyo" is a dependent clause because it lacks its own subject.
  • Right: My cat is named Harold and lives in Tokyo. Now "is named Harold" and "lives in Tokyo" share the same subject of "(my) cat".
  • Right: My cat is named Harold, and he lives in Tokyo. The addition of "he" gives "lives in Tokyo" its own subject and turns it into a independent clause.
  • Right: My cat is named Harold; he lives in Tokyo. Semicolons are an alternate way of forming compound sentences.

Basically, just remember that if a clause can't be a sentence by itself, then it doesn't use a comma before its conjunction. You might want to brush up on the rules for using commas in other manners as well.--Remurmur (talk) 00:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

School Days (visual novel) manga

Hi,

I merged back the chapter list of School Days (visual novel) manga adaptation because it was going to nowhere with just two volumes released. And because there were only two volumes, people wrote excessive plot, summarizing every single chapter instead of volume in order to beef up size wise the article which would been otherwise very short. --KrebMarkt 14:36, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

K-on!

so just ask before editing to avoid being cancelled again. In TV Episode 1, Sawako says, "「軽い音楽」と書いて、軽音よ", meaning "Keion is written as 'light' music". as the word "軽い" refers to, this term can be translated as "relaxing music". Here is an example: [2] see examples for (7). So additional, personally, I consist that the difference between "light music" and "'light' music" is just a stuff of words' different meanings in different languages. So definately there's no need for any "reference" or "researching" because a Japanese-speaking person can simply tell the fact of "'light' music".

--YumeYao 03:37, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for replying. So what about 軽音楽? Can this be a reliable source? Honestly I didn't know western light music before i viewed this page. In last 2 paragraphs, it explains Japanese "light music"(where as above explains western light music. Here is a simple translation:
Additional, light music can also be inferred as a genre of pop music that is different from classic or ordinary music. For example: when light music is used in such occasions: NHK's "light music audition" and "light music for you"(NHK-FM programme in past years), circles in schools such as "light music club", "light music fanclub", etc.
There are schools in which both "light music club" and "music club" exists, in these cases, "light music club" plays rock, funk or jazz targeted genre, oppositely "music club" plays orchestra and choir. Their activities have been totally parted just like two kinds of creatures don't live together after evolution. - Yumeyao (talk) 03:28, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
really difficult. What about dictionary? Is it allowed? Sigh, but all Japanese-English dictionary marks keiongaku as light music, where Japanese-Japanese dictionary describes keiongaku very well. -Yumeyao (talk) 07:11, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
EDIT: new century Japanese-English Dictionary marks keiongaku with light (popular) music. http://dic.yahoo.co.jp/dsearch?p=%E3%81%91%E3%81%84%E3%81%8A%E3%82%93%E3%81%8C%E3%81%8F&enc=UTF-8&stype=1&dtype=3&dname=2ss

So this will be rather strange. Isn't there any policies dealing with this special situation?
The fact is all Japanese regard "light music" as A, while westerners think "light music" is B. But when it comes to international communications, Japanese people know to use words other than "light music"(such as pop music) to avoid confusion. Thus no articles or comments in English discussing this word. And for Japanese who want western light music then he will stress on european or british, etc. And for academic communications, Japanese light music is not a genre thus no confusion as well.
It seems all resposibility is on the Japanese-English(and English-Japanese) dictionary editors.(Maybe some kinds of huge dictionaries give the right answer but most of them are not available on Internet)
However if we just simply compare the item "light music" on an authoritative English dictionary and the item "軽音楽" on an authoritative Japanese dictionary(assuming both Japanese and English can be read), the answer is right there. Keiongaku on sanseidou daijirin:[3] A general name of popular music. Jazz, chanson, tango, pop music, and so on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yumeyao (talkcontribs) 07:59, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of The Familiar of Zero characters. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of The Familiar of Zero characters. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

The article Yū Kamonomiya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of meeting WP:BIO

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Oo7565 (talk) 18:33, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

About the reference you edited

I noticed that you fixed the template in your edit of Haruhi Suzumiya. However you did not fix the reference. Newtype USA was published under license by A.D. Vision, the December 2006 issue was Vol. 5, No. 12, there is no page number, and I can find no reference to Haruhi Suzumiya in my copy of that issue. I presume that the reference should point to Newtype (Japan) but I have no copies of that magazine. If you can fix the reference please do so, but if not comment it out so that the misleading reference no longer appears. -- allennames 15:18, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
