Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

On 18th April, Jenniferus1212, a new contributor with only three other edits, created/substantially edited two draft articles within the space of eight minutes: Draft:The Phone Up Studios Inc, and Draft:Felipe Vasquez - an article about a business, and its founder. Articles/drafts on both had previously been created by Bizarre90, back in December last year, with the article on the business being deleted. Having created the drafts, Jenniferus1212 has made no further edits, but Bizarre90 has. Though as a non-admin I can't access the deleted article on 'The Phone Up Studios', it appears to cite the same press releases and other unreliable sources that led to its deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Phone Up Studios Inc, and as I noted at the AfD, there are very strong grounds to suspect either gross exaggeration or an outright hoax regarding much of the content. And while noting that hoax articles (and/or CoI editing) are clearly matters for ANI rather than here, the use of identical sources by a 'new' contributor' after the earlier creator was informed of their invalidity has to be grounds to suspect either sockpuppetry or meatpuppetry. • The circumstances are suspicious. Technically, however, these accounts are unrelated - different continents, if the geolocations are to be believed (and I have no reason to think that they are not). It's possible that they are coordinating their efforts, or they may be entirely unrelated to each other, but both working on the same brief; I'm confident that they're not the same person, however.  Behavioural evidence needs evaluation Girth Summit (blether) 19:13, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
