Re: Thanks for keeping an eye out

Thanks for the nice note on my talk page, I appreciate it. :-) Soltak | Talk 23:31, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Dear Phuzion,
Thank you for your attempt to protect article History of Mongolia from "vandalism". I have written the most part of the article History of Mongolia and I know how to develop it further. I am trying to edit it. Please do not intrude and please don't offend me calling me a vandal. I was going to move the content of the "Manchu period" section to "Manchu Conquest" section. Now I am going to merge these two sections. Please be careful using rude words such as "vandal". Gantuya eng 04:53, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
And why have deleted the picture of the deer stone?!Gantuya eng 04:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I was out of the mood. Please excuse me if was too harsh. Gantuya eng 08:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Hiya, its me (The-medusa), ok I edited a page on the 30th Nov weapon section because as this game comes out in Eur 9th nov, people come to page and see why there are no list of weapons. Until the 9th comes there should be a list and also until there is a FAQ of game. You can email to discuss at simsward007@hotmail.com and take your time, I have all-year:) —Preceding unsigned comment added by The-medusa (talkcontribs) 11:04, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't realise I couldn't delete it. VillaFanSam 23:33, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Sleeping dogs

Dancing Stage MegaMiX wasn't complete, which is why it was in the sandbox. Now instead of properly polishing the article I have to quickly tie it off, you didn't even proof read it. I know you were trying to help, but did you know what was going on? --AeronPrometheus (talk) 13:33, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Are you trying to be funny? Thanks for moving the page back but next time don't, A, create a new user sub-page when it already had a sandbox, B, redirect a wiki page to said new user sub-page. I corrected the redirect, if having an empty page is going to set off alarms I'm sending them to you. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 22:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Bemani article

The list of DDR games was badly formed and out of date, and redundant. Is there really a need to have a "sample" list when the full list is a link away? I realize that it sorta looks out of place at the moment, but as far as style is concerned there's a great deal of work that needs to be done to that article. All I did was touch the area that my current project is focused on. I plan on doing other Bemani series when I'm done... in 2021. If you really hate the changes made switch it back, I'll come back and repair the whole page when I have time. Also please explain to me the misuse of the Main Article template and demonstrate how I was suppose to use it. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 08:10, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

That is not how the Main Article template has to work, all that is required is a description of the information. There doesn't need to be a repeated piece of the list. Deleting information is one thing, replace it with better prose and formatting is another and it's something ALL the Bemani articles sorely need. Don't wait for a big event ot make changes you know are needed, this is Wikipedia, go make the list articles now even if all they are is stubs to start with. Then additional editing can occur along the right path as people find it in them to add to it. I can tell that you actually care about these articles, sometimes I feel alone in that gesture, but don't limit yourself. And if you feel that you cannot take on that kind of a project now why are you denying others the right to make the needed gradual changes? --AeronPrometheus (talk) 08:20, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Capitol idea, gimme a minute to give the list a look over. Prolly should have refreshed the whole page when I made those changes, I guess I need to follow my own advice. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 08:38, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Huggle User Category

Hi there. I have seen that you use huggle by the fact that you have automatically updated the huggle white list(it does this when closing huggle). I was wondering if you would add the category to your user page so that it fills out and we know who actually uses huggle. If you do not want to you do not have to. I am also sorry if i have already talked to you about this or you no longer use huggle but i sent it to everyone that has edited the page since mid January. I hope we can start to fill out this category. If you would like to reply to this message then please reply on my talk page as i will probably not check here again. Huggle Category Problem

Hi there. You are receiving this message from me as you have not added your huggle category correctly. At the moment on category here you can see that you are sorted under the letter U. To fix this please change the to . This will fix the problem. If you do not change this within a few days then i will do this for you but i would prefer to send you a message like this than just go and change your page. If you want to contact me then please use my talk page as i will not be checking back here. Thanks for your help. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 16:47, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Edit of Papaveraceae

Hi Phuzion,

I changed the sentence around because it sounds like Ranunculales is the "poppy family". I believe it's more clear when it's written "Papaveraceae, informally known as..." In Prekmurje dialect, you "fixed" some spelling mistakes which capitalised non-English words (specifically, "april", "mali", "september", "december", in Slovene and Prekmurian).

If you’re going to fix typos, please double-check that what you are changing is actually English. -- pne (talk) 12:29, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi Phuzion! I've been running into you while patrolling logs and recent changes and I happened to notice that you don't have the pending changes reviewer user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling and that you consistently view and undo vandalism and bad faith disruption. I believe that the pending changes reviewer rights would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of the tool. Instead of having you formally request the pending changes reviewer right at WP:PERM, I went ahead and just gave it to you. This user right allows you to review edits that are pending approval on pages currently under pending changes protection and either accept the edits to make them viewable by the general public, or decline and revert them.

Keep these things in mind regarding the tool or when you're reviewing any pending changes:

 • A list of articles with pending edits awaiting review can be viewed at Special:PendingChanges.
 • A list of the articles currently under pending changes protection can be viewed at Special:StablePages.
 • Being granted and having these rights does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you (obviously).
 • You'll generally want to accept any pending changes that appear to be legitimate edits and are not blatant vandalism or disruption, and reject edits that are problematic or that you wouldn't accept yourself.
 • Never accept any pending changes that contain obvious and clear vandalism, blatant neutral point of view issues, copyright violations, or BLP violations.

Useful guidelines and pages for you to read:

I'm sure you'll do fine with the reviewer rights - it's a pretty straight-forward tool and it doesn't drastically change the interface that you're used to already. Nonetheless, please don't hesitate to leave me a message on my user talk page if you run into any questions, get stuck anywhere, or if you're not sure if you should accept or revert pending changes to a page, and I'll be more than be happy to help you. If you no longer want the pending changes reviewer rights, let me know and I'll be happy to remove it for you. Thank you for helping to patrol recent changes and keep Wikipedia free of disruption and vandalism - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:33, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

I already said thanks in IRC, but thanks again! I'm glad that my work fighting vandalism is being recognized. Phuzion (talk) 19:48, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Politically neutral?!

With all due respect, even you don't believe yourself when you claim content is politically neutral. I made two edits that changed the content from propaganda to neutral and factual. And you immediately sent me a message rejecting my edits because they didn't comport to your personal agenda.

If nothing else, you're a cautionary tale about the failings of government schools. My condolences on your intellectual and moral cowardice.

Gamebook Page edit

Wht external links count as inappropriate? I wasn't trying to advertise the product, which I think is the reason you removed those. Sorry if I made a mistake, I just wanted to have some links to what the page was referencing. Rake2005 (talk) 16:58, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

I removed the external links you added to the Gamebook article because they did not appear to contribute to the article. Additionally, the copyright status of the content on the links is unclear. Finally, one of the links you added was broken. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks. Phuzion (talk) 17:11, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Greetings Phuzion! Please note that Harvard College is categorized separately from Harvard Law School, so an article subject who received both an undergraduate degree and a law degree from Harvard would be separately categorized in Category:Harvard College alumni and Category:Harvard Law School alumni. While it is correct to remove Category:Harvard University alumni as redundant, where there is a separate undergraduate degree from Harvard this should be replaced with the Harvard College category. BD2412 T 23:53, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up, my apologies for the erroneous error. I'll strive to do better in the future. Phuzion (talk) 23:57, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you, for your contributions. Cheers! BD2412 T 01:23, 25 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you were trying to do here, but your edit gutted over half of the article with an edit summary of "fixed an invalid parameter"? I saw the problem and fixed it so I thank you for doing that. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:14, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Sorry about that, that wasn't my intention. I'm looking into exactly what happened, but I think I might have been unintentionally editing an old revision of the page. Thanks for catching my mistake and fixing it. Phuzion (talk) 14:19, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
No problem! =) Yeah, it looks like the issue to me as I thought it was strange that the most recent coinage figures were reverted back to 2018. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:21, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

OWA OWA

Hi. The author contested deletion on the article talk page, saying the organization is notable; from the description, I suspect it probably is. I pointed out he needed to cite reliable sources in the near future or the article would still get deleted.

Thanks for watching over our content! —A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 16:51, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

I've literally done everything to make my page perfect, phuzion! What else does it need? It's in-depth, reliable, secondary, & independent! Jellybull (talk) 15:55, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

@Jellybull: As I mentioned in my decline reason, the references you have used for your draft are a YouTube video and two pages published by the subject of the draft. These are not usable as reliable sources. Per WP:REPUTABLE, "articles should be based on reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." If you have further questions, you are welcome to join the Teahouse, where volunteers will be happy to assist you with your draft. Phuzion (talk) 16:07, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

Note

Hi, i noticed the author decided to publish the Draft:Avraal Sahir without any improvement, even though you declined it previously. আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 19:23, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Bulletproof Soul

Hi! Thanks for the citation notes on Draft:Bulletproof Soul. I added sourcing in place of all [citation needed]. The added sources included 2 magazines and one other source. In some places I used multiple sources.

In reference to the artists in the group and Midnight Marauders, we can use multiple sources within the 11 references narrowed down if need be, these facts are mentioned in most of the sourcing, but the sources added are also reputable and I imagine Hype Magazine and Vents Magazine have been used to source plenty of other topics.

Also, the William Morris poem is seen on the album cover, plus a columnist mentions it in Hype Mag, which you can see I included. Something you can read on the album cover shouldn't need citing though, no? This is something you can cite from almost any of the references that show the album cover anyways because William Morris is credited on the cover. Should it be worded differently to say he is credited on the cover?

Please see the history on 15:38, 14 October 2023‎. Some things we should remove if need be surely. The abbreviation (though sourced) & "creating content around concepts such as human rights, community, and labor rights" might just be unnecessary inclusions for now, though sourced. Thoughts? Anonamistad (talk) 02:48, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Update. I went ahead and adjusted these things, as well as completely replaced those sources with suitable sources. Anonamistad (talk) 15:36, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

I was going to add a reference from GlobeNewswire (url: https://www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2021/09/14/2296508/0/en/DoubleDown-Interactive-Launches-Undead-World-Hero-Survival.html), but I read it was a press release distributor. But I've seen press releases referenced on other published articles on Wikipedia, so are they outdated and need to be updated? Or does referencing a press release depend on the article you're writing? KasaibouF29 (talk) 15:26, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

@KasaibouF29: As a reminder, Wikipedia is a work in progress. Just because something exists in article space does not mean that it follows all policies and guidelines. As a reminder, press releases from the subject of an article are not independent, because they are written by the subject of said article. Indeed, there are many articles out there with press releases as references, however, we will not accept articles through the AfC process that have them. I'd recommend WP:RS thoroughly to understand what does and does not count as a reliable source. If you have any further questions, please feel free to respond here on my talk page! Thanks for you interest in contributing to Wikipedia! Phuzion (talk) 15:44, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi Phuzion, I would be interested in your thoughts on this article. I was looking at it when you nominated it for CSD, but it isn't entirely unsourced - there does appear to be some credibility to the claims. That said, the article also seems to be written from a very... angry perspective. Maybe CSD is the right way to go? I'm not entirely sure - I fixed the formatting of the source and removed everything that wasn't supported by that - but I was wondering if you had more experience of what to do in that area. LittlePuppers (talk) 23:01, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

@LittlePuppers: If nothing else, the article (in its prior state) clearly fails WP:NPOV, which was one of my primary considerations when CSDing it. Additionally, I think the subject fails WP:NPERSON. While it may not have strictly met the criteria for WP:ATP, I do think that the article should likely be CSD'd. Happy to discuss further. Phuzion (talk) 23:13, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Fair enough, I'd be very surprised if the editor makes it neutral, and I'm seeing little by way of sources outside of court documents and one (possibly run-of-the-mill?) newspaper article. I'll return the CSD tag, and leave it up to the admin. LittlePuppers (talk) 23:31, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Phuzion:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:24, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Just FYI, I had marked this under review and was cleaning up prior to your decline. Going to approve it after cleanup in case you want to re-review or send it to AfD. Outside of the tone which I am cleaning up, meets WP:NSCHOLAR based on the amount his work is cited and the fellowships. CNMall41 (talk) 03:57, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

@CNMall41: Ah, my apologies, I missed that you'd tagged it as under review. Thanks for cleaning it up and publishing. My only concern with the article in its current state is the over-reliance on wisc.edu sources, which appear to be connected sources. But I'll trust your judgment on this one. Thanks for the heads up. Phuzion (talk) 04:06, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
No biggie. These AfC drives can make us easily overlook things. I believe I have done it in the past as well. I honestly HATE the low bar set by WP:NACADEMIC but it is what it is. I am sure this would survive AfD so I cleaned up the most blatant issues and tagged it for exactly what you mentioned. Of course, I am not immune from second opinions and will never be upset if someone takes an AfC approval to AfD. Good luck in the backlog drive!!--CNMall41 (talk) 04:08, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
On another note, I normally never mark something as under review but since the backlog drive is going I thought it best. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:11, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

No objection to the decline. But I think your script went a little crazy.[1] One of the pre-existing comments got duplicated a few times. DMacks (talk) 00:05, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up, I've tried to clean up the comments a bit, hopefully that makes things a bit easier to work with. Phuzion (talk) 00:26, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

Please explain...

You berated me on my talk page about submitting others' articles which were not ready for submission, then told me I was 'suspicious' with no explanation. If you are referring to Paul D'Andrea, the citations were reverted by another party back to someone else's incorrect submission. I have reverted them back. Please do not revert it again so this remains correct. I will now resubmit as the article is ready. Otherwise, if you have some other pages that you are referring to, please list them so I am aware of what you are talking about. Finally, I have to COI to declare, so the quip about suspicious is unfounded. I do not know the subject. Thanks Phuzion Geraldine Aino (talk) 17:19, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
