Holy Breaker! The Witch Betrayed Blue Moon Wicca is a Japanese visual novel developed by H.I Design Office, a brand of VisualArt's. It will be released on December 28, 2014 for Windows at Comiket 87.
Gameplay[edit]
Holy Breaker! is a fantasy visual novel in which the player assumes the role of Tsukumo Izumi.[1] Much of its gameplay is spent on reading the story's narrative and dialogue. The text in the game is accompanied by character sprites, which represent who Tsukumo is talking to, over background art. Throughout the game, the player encounters CG artwork at certain points in the story, which take the place of the background art and character sprites.
Development and release[edit]
As an April Fool's joke in 2014, Itaru Hinoue of the visual novel studio Key posted an illustration on her website Hinoue Itaru Design Office of two female characters apparently from an upcoming fighting game titled Holy Breaker!.[1] Although the illustration was later taken down, positive reaction led to the production of a B1-size tapestry featuring the characters, which was sold at the Character1 exhibition in Japan held on April 29, 2014.[2] The project later resurfaced as a visual novel developed by H.I Design Office. The game's scenario is written by Leo Kashida, who has previously worked on the scenario of Key's 2005 game Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life and 2007 game Little Busters!.[3][4] Hinoue serves as the art director and character designer, and the game's soundtrack is composed by Donmaru.[5][6] The game's theme song is "Holy Breaker!" sung by Faylan. Holy Breaker! will be released on December 28, 2014 for Windows at Comiket 87.[5]
