The results from our latest round of testing are in. We all had a pretty good idea that the Bacognize would fair well, as Nootropics Depot's tests showed. However, we now have 3rd party results confirming it.
- Lead- .065ppm
- Arsenic- .184ppm
- Cadmium- .024ppm
- Mercury- <.001ppm
Here is the COA for the Swanson brand Bacognize bacopa capsules.
We had a feeling that the Himalaya brand Brahmi bacopa had high limits. But while the levels are higher than the Bacognize, they are below the recommended limits set by the FDA. That was surprising to me, as I had expected them to be higher.
- Lead- .254ppm
- Arsenic- .286ppm
- Cadmium- .042ppm
- Mercury- .061ppm

Then there was the issue of people claiming that various products from Nootrabiolabs were actually baking powder/corn starch. Redditors and Longecity members have been reporting instances of sunifiram, adrafinil, phenylpiracetam, TUDCA, and various others as being a tasteless fluffy white powder that did not resemble the product they bought. I had previously spoken to the owner of Nootrabiolabs over on Longecity, as I inadvertently discovered that she was the ex-girlfriend of Cerebral Health/Bioscience Nutraceuticals owner Doug Phillips. I apologized for bringing up past personal dealings, and told her that I did not have any issues with her company as long as she was selling legitimate product. After seeing a few more reports of people bringing up the baking powder issue, we decided to acquire a sample of one of their products that people had recently complained about and test it.
One shady thing Nootrabiolabs was doing was asking people to send the questionable product back to them before offering a refund. However, once they got their product back, they would ignore the customer. Multiple people came forward saying this happened to them. Fortunately I was able to acquire a bag of Nootrabiolabs TUDCA (taurousodeoxycholic acid). When it arrived, it definitely seemed like baking powder. I put a bit on the tip of my tongue, and it tasted just like it. So I sent the sample in to Colmeric. Sure enough, it came back negative for TUDCA.
Here are the Nootrabiolabs TUDCA results.
TLDR: Bacognize good. Himalaya not as good, but under the limits. Nootrabiolabs bad.
