Fluoxetine is Prozac - and its results in animals have been really spotty. It was prescribed for my cat's belligerent behavior toward the other cats but really did nothing for that. Even though you could see that it was affecting him somehow, and I got the feeling that he was really trying to understand what I wanted from him. I personally tried L-theanine for anxiety with zero results, but everybody's different, and dogs are really different, so I think it's worth a try. Just find out what the milligrams per dose/day are supposed to be and extrapolate from that and do a low-cost experiment with the human kind. Makes much more sense. Good luck! Have you ever tried getting him a companion animal? Maybe a different species?

Thanks for the reply. My SO and I already decided against Flouxetine after doing some reading. I am taking the dose for the L-theanine from the drug manufactures suggested pet doses. I am sorry to hear it didn't work for you. We actually were thinking about another dog since before we moved he had a dog friend and we thought another friend might help. Then we found this really nice stray and adopted her. It did help for the anxiety, but he started to behave very aggressively towards her. It became a safety issue for both of them and after 3 months we decided it wasn't working and found her a new place. The SO has just put his foot down about adding anything else to the mix now.
