I’ve been using adaptogens for many years for cognitive enhancement. Have recently picked up noopept and phenylpiracetam.
I’m wondering what people experience after using these substances for fairly long (several months, or years) periods of time and stopping.
Do you feel any lasting benefits or deficits? Any advice for someone just getting going? Anyone wish they never touched these substances?
Is there a consensus why this sort of thing happens to a small number of people? I’m 24 and sex normally comes great and easy for me, but these two noots render my penis useless basically. Within 3 days! I’m healthy and function fine otherwise. It’s very unfortunate.
Or would this be a sign of the comedown of the effects?
I apologize in advance if this is not an appropriate question for this subreddit — perhaps I've actually over-researched things to the point of confusing myself, but I've not found a definitive answer.
I am considering making the move from 20mg (10mg x 2) to 30mg of Noopept daily.
Is there a medical (or nootropic community) consensus on dosing 10mg three times daily vs. 20mg in morning and then a 10mg dose later in the day?
Whether anecdotally or not.
Recently discovered that some people get a side effect of lowered libido from supplementing Lion’s Mane. No thank you friend-o, I like having a high sex drive, so logically, I discontinued use.
With that in mind, just incase I’m not currently or in the future doing my libido a disservice, I want to collect understanding of nootropics/supplements that are currently known or thought to hinder sexual desire.
Does taking noopept make anyone feel like a terminator? Clear-headed, less remorse and more action?
Won't be long. Purchased set of 4 different nootropic samples (15 pills each bottle) and they include Noopept, Piracetam, Oxiracetam and Aniracetam.
Tried Noopept for two days x 1 pill (30 mg each pill) and only felt elevated depression.
Same thing with Piracetam. It's my first day but I've had two pills so far (each 800mg) and feel like a piece of shit.
I don't wanna be that kind of guy but should I continue or just move on with the next kind? Do these take some time to build up? I kind of don't have enough pills to continue if I ever feel positive effects, so I need to know if it's just not meant to be with some kind of nootropics.
I know the article below is old news, but I thought I'd start the discussion again, since, now, there might be NGF eyedrops available on the market and/or people who have already tried it.
She was awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize for Medicine jointly with an American, Stanley Cohen, for her research into NGF: the proteins and amino-acids which enable the cells of the nervous system to grow and take on specialised tasks. Despite her age, Dr Levi-Montalcini, a neurologist and development biologist, still works every day at the European Brain Research Institute, which she founded in Rome.
During numerous celebrations this week, she claimed that her brain was more vigorous today than it was four decades ago. "If I'm not mistaken," she said, "I can say my mental capacity is greater than when I was 20 because it has been enriched by so many experiences, in the same way that my curiosity and desire to be close to those who suffer has not diminished."
According to Pietro Calissano, who collaborated with the professor on an article for Scientific American in which she announced her discovery in 1979, NGF may have played a direct role in her amazing vitality. "Every day, she takes NGF in the form of eye drops," he said, "but I can't say for sure if this is her secret. At the start, it seemed this molecule's effect was restricted to acting on the peripheral nervous system, but then it emerged that it has a very important role in the brain. Contrary to what was believed, the brain does not have a rigid structure but is in continuous movement, and NGF helps neurons – which we begin to lose between 10 and 15 years old – survive."
So, have you tried NGF eyedrops or know of any studies?
Do you think this is a better delivery method than other nootropics, such as lion's mane?
I need your advise for a possible mistake in my stack, I’m in exam season, so the goal is better focus during long study times (10h).
T00:00 on Empty stomache
- (300 Alpha GPC or 200 mg CitiCholine (Swapped daily) Oral
- 300 Uridine monophosphate Sublingual
- 10 mg Noopept Sublingual
- 2g L-tyrosine Sublingual
- 10 ml fish Oil (~750mg DHA)
- B-complex
Exact same stacks repeated at T4:00 midday without B-Complex.
I’m new to this stack tried Citicholine on it’s own was super fine but short acting (3h) and I do not want to take it daily due to the long half-life.
Alpha GPC with uridine is good, Alpha GPC alone almost made no effect.
But today was the 1st adding noopept and I felt stronger brain fog, as if I hadn’t took any nootropic at all or maybe worse !
I’ve tried noopept with GPC and wasn’t that bad.
Is it a wise idea to stop noopept for now since it takes weeks to load and I’m off the hock in 2 weeks anyway ?
I'm i taking too much of anything ?
How do you take your NOOPEPT? How many times per day at which dosage? Do you take it for a prolonged period of time or only when necessary?
How has it improved or worsened your life?
Does anybody have a resource that links to noopepts mechanism of action. I’m currently on prescription medications and would like to see any interactions it might cause, although I’m having trouble locating a resource to provide information. I’ve been wanting to try it for a while due to memory issues I’ve been experiencing.
Hi!
I’ve been taking Noopept for a little while, and I’m pairing with Alpha-GPC, and I had a question.
Does anyone know the bioavailability of both of these? I heard somewhere here that Noopept was around 10%, but I haven’t seen a figure for Alpha GPC.
I’m going to take both sublingually, I just wanted to know the bioavailability, and whether the recommended dosages take bioavailability into account. (For example, Examine.com says the recommended dose of Alpha GPC is 300-600mg daily, would that number be lower if I took it sublingually? It seems like a lot to take sublingually. And Noopept’s recommended dose is 5-10mg daily, but I don’t know if this is the ideal dosage for sublingual intake.)
Would anybody please let me know if you have a quick answer? Or personal accounts of how much you take, and how you take it?
Hello y’all and thank you In advance for your advice and help as I am just a humble novice to nootropics. And forgive any errors as my ass is on mobile.
I have had great experiences with Aniracetam in the past and I still use Lions mane regularly. I’ve taken choline with aniracetam intermittently. I loved the immediate effects I felt with ani but had to stop after 4-5 months due to increased irritability.
Someone at my company recommended noopept and so I picked up 30mg caps from Nootropicsdepot. I was anticipating an anxiety lift and focus like with aniracetam but those were not my results. While I did have an increase in focus and vocabulary On day three of taking a full 30mg, I had the worst headache (even with choline) and my anxiety literally was in overdrive.
I’m talking two panic attacks at work bad. My brain just would focus on the smallest things that were bothering me and wouldn’t stop blowing them out of proportion until they became overwhelming. Not something I’ve ever experienced before.
I’m happy to be feeling better from it now but I was hoping for some Feedback and suggestions. I am assuming noopept is just not the kinda thing for this dude, and if so, what should I try that will give me similar effects to aniracetam.
I’m not opposed to going back to aniracetam either but any stack or dosage recommendations to help keep the Aggression-ness down?
I was feeling extra crappy since I started university. My mood had been deteriorating.
Things worsened and I had 3 month long procrastination. I was feeling okish because while I was able to do other things( cooking, classes, socialising) I couldn't bring to myself to study. I would suddenly lose motivation, energy, feel sleepy or just start binging manga, shows, surfing. Yes, like you I thought it was a pyschological problem.
Never could have I, linked these symptoms to nutrition. However, recently I had started playing with my diet for bodybuilding. Initially, I focused on adusting macros. I was just focused on 'protein'. Then I found fibre and fat xD After a while, I finally stumbled onto micronutrients. Something truly good happened at the start of this year! I figured my diet was shitty and I must be deficient in a lot of things because even though the diet looked normal, it was not meeting RDAs of nutrients. And I had been doing this for 4 years now!
Bloodwork confirmed deficiency of b12 and D while Mg was normal (doubt it! *update: cause blood tests are not a reliable way of measuring Mg in the body and I don't eat Mg rich foods) So, out of the 3 tests done, I had deficiency in 2 of them. Then I went to a doctor with these reports and consulted with him. I also told him that I must be deficient in most. So, started supplementing all the vitamins and minerals prescribed by him. I experienced improved motivation and energy from the next day itself ! No sleepiness.
A lot of people with shitty diet may have deficiency! When I had first joined this sub, I had ignored this simple advice, dont do the same. Noopept can wait xD

All of the people I know IRL who use nootropics started at some point during their college years (i.e. ages ~18-23). I am curious as to whether or not this is representative of the community as a whole.
Most data on chronic nootropics use in healthy subjects seems to come from older adults, and I am hoping that more research can be done on this (seemingly large and growing) demographic of users who start at a younger age.
So, to those of you reading this, what age were you when you first started using nootropics (apart from caffeine, fish oil or prescribed medication)?
I've checked the search bar and have only yielded empty posts, so im just gonna go ahead and explain my situation to you guys and ask my question. I currently smoke weed very regularly but have to quit within the week, reluctantly. I believe my cognition is pretty good, but I'm 26 and have been using pot pretty regularly for several years. I plan on starting nursing school withing 6-7 months, and therefore believe I should start supplementing with some noopept along with revision of college science courses, etc. to assist neuroplasticity and whatnot. I do have experience with the drug so nothing crazy for me. My question is, if I am also to vape cbd along with my use of noopept, would my supplementation be negated? Hopefully, you guys have some experience and some input. Any advice and general relevant conversation is encouraged. Thanks noots
Say I'm taking phenylpiracetam and oxiracetam together and I'm putting some doses into capsules for when I don't have the time to weigh out a dosage. Is it alright to put them both into one capsule for convenience sake? I figure it is, but just want to make sure
Got some noopept powder, L-theanine powder and noopept capsules from 2014-ish. Do these degrade at all? They have been stored in airtight containers in a dry environment for years now.
I have nootropics such as noopept and NSI-189, which both requires the sublingual route to be even more effective. Is there any tips to stop excessive saliva from happing in those 5-10 minutes? Thanks.
i have some ceretropic brand noopept spray i bought a few months ago and i've used it but not for a good long while. i'm wondering if it's still good/safe to use. i imagine they used the bacteriostatic water and all but just wanna verify since i recall seeing some sort of gross post about noopept spray in the past.
Looking to try a new racetam, similar to aniracetam. I haven tried piracetam but I have used Phenylpiracetam. Thinking of trying Coluracetam or Fascoracetam. Any recommendations?
Thanks.
I’m curious on how and when you guys take Paracetam? I just received an order of Paracetam and Noopept.
In what way of taking the two have you guys gotten the best results? Thanks in advance.
Anyone else stack L-Tyrosine with a B-complex or just B12? There seems to be a definite synergy. I found myself so absorbed in the task at hand that I barely noticed how much time I was spending on it. Reminded me of my experience with Noopept.
Im wondering is this will work The nasal spray bottle is going to be an amber glass 30ml bottle that dispenses .1ml per spray. The Noopept dose will be 450mg per 29 ml. There will be 20ml of type II deionized water and 9 ml of propylene glycol 400. I plan on first puting the propylene glycol 400 in first then the noopept then the type II deionized water after this i plan on submerging the spray bottle in 100° Fahrenheit water for 10 minutes then from there giving the bottle a light shake.
Is the dosage correct? Is there any way i can improve on this process?
Wanting to try noopept for the first time so I plan on buying a smaller amount. If I try to buy off NootDepot, it charges shipping worth as much as the product.
