Picked up the encapsulated Piracetam and Aniracetam from ND about 2 months ago. I am now almost finished with both bottles.
I've a long history of these two nootropics use almost 10 years now, these two being my favorites when taken together.
I've always got my piracetam and aniracetam in kilos from HealthSupplementWholesalers then PowderCity in bulk and always had excellent results, decided to get the pricier ND noots after PowderCity finally kicked the bucket.
TLDR ; To be honest, there has been basically zero, and I mean absolute ZERO perceived effects from these two. Either taken alone one or the other, as well as taken in combination. I've never experienced this before. I know MYASD tests his batches when possible, but has anyone experienced this?
I'm buying from a different source to compare, but I've bought from HSSW/PC for so long I haven't kept up on reputable vendors and as such would seriously appreciate recommendations from some of you.
Starting in grad school I took 10mg noopept daily, with choline bitartrate (I forget the dosage, it was whatever the standard dose was for capsules from powder city, then called health supplement wholesalers). The choline was necessary, as my brain would grind to a halt without it.
So, like a dumbass, I didn't do enough research on the noot before taking it, and didn't know about cycling off it, so I kept taking it for about 2-3 years. Eventually I started getting brain fog, so I stopped taking it. Also worth noting, I was getting just about zero mental stimulation from my job, I could sleepwalk through it and be just fine, so I wasn't really needing the brain boost anymore.
I think I tried lowering the dose of choline first, thinking maybe less mental exertion meant less choline consumption, but couldn't find a right dose to stop the brain fog. Eventually I stopped noopept altogether, and still kept experimenting with choline dose. In this process, I discovered two things:
A standard pill of choline (as bitartrate, CDP, etc) was too much, and would give me brain fog.
Any amount of choline, even like 10% of a pill, administered directly (aka mixing in water and drinking it) resulted in immediate and powerful brain fog, it would render me incapable of abstract thought.
That experimentation process was about a year ago, and I haven't taken any choline or noopept in that time. I definitely noticed mental decline in that time, but again, I was getting no mental stimulation at work, so I don't know if that was the real reason. Also, I've been engaged in a meditative/spiritual practice that essentially isolates negative/unhealthy thoughts/aspects in my head and depersonalizes from them. There seems to be a correlation between when I do that and when I have trouble focusing in the world, but since that practice is the main thing keeping me from debilitating depression, I'm not in a hurry to give it up.
Recently I had been noticing that my focus and memory were crap lately, and Theanine+caffeine+bacopa were having no noticeable effect. So I thought again, maybe it's a choline deficiency. I took one 250mg dose of CDP choline over the weekend, no real noticeable effect. I took another one today, about 4-5 days after that first dose, and got noticeable brain fog.
My questions are:
Has anyone heard of or experienced an acquired choline sensitivity, from noopept or any other noot?
Does anyone have any ideas for how to undo the damage, or a noot I could try instead? I am currently working on getting a new, more challenging job, so being able to focus would really help, and like I said theanine+caffeine+bacopa doesn't seem to be having any effect. I haven't taken bacopa long enough really to be sure, but the theanine should have shown something by now I think.
Would a psychiatrist be the right kind of doctor to talk to about something like this? I can't think of any other kind of doctor that might be knowledgeable about neurochemistry, but then I'm no expert on such things, I don't have a primary doctor since I'm rarely sick.
An interesting side effect of the brain fog is that I am functionally immune to anxiety, as my brain can't spin itself up into the kind of frenzy that requires. I can think if I really try, but it's like trudging through shallow mud instead of running on a paved road.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/3jpp8a/powder_city_rating_and_reviews_are_biased/ Powder city has been censoring 2- and 1- star reviews. That is a dishonest practice.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steroidsourcetalk/comments/35kzwd/source_review_powdercity_tudca/ Fairly certain that this shit is not tudca. It doesnt have that standard salty bile taste. Anyone else notice anything off?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/2qhqhc/so_i_bought_myself_some_phenibut_and_it_arrived/cn68941 I used many brands of agmatine, best being usp labs but I never EVER got any effects from powdercities agmatine. I dosed as high as 3 grams with nothing.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/2qutie/powdercities_oxiracetam_batch_141211_lot_tw1211/ Being a longterm user and enjoyer of the service and products Powdercity has previously provided, it really and deeply saddens me to have to leave this question, and this warning to anyone else with this same batch of Oxiracetam.. It dissolved as it should have in my mouth, quite quickly, while also leaving a persistent numbness to my tongue comparable to dental anesthetic, as well as minor chemical burns to the inside of my mouth.
You have all my contact information. We've spoken earlier today on facebook, and earlier this month through email. The first tub you sent me contained less then a single gram of legitimate Oxiracetam, out of the original order for 50g. I have no idea whats in this tub, but its not anything what I'm used to coming from your company. Now over a month in resolution. Sitting here feeling my mouth burn. :/
The 50g tub with that had less then 1g shipped is labelled as Batch # 141128 Lot # 20140907. This order also came with an unsealed package of 100g Phenibut, which had a shockingly loose lid upon arrival without an intact inner seal, which everything else had. There was also no outer plastic seal. :( Batch # 141128 Lots # 20140801
replacement Oxiracetam, which is absolutely fowl and melted the inside of my mouthl.. My lips are starting to peel a layer or two from the inside out.
My mouth is still a bit raw this morning, and my lips are alright. They aren't bleeding or anything.

I got some phenylpiracetam from them a while back that seemed a bit off. It tasted like bleach, and I didn't remember it being like that under Health Supplement Wholesalers.
EvlynBrake 4 points After reading this post i tried to put it under my tongue (~600mg); i can definitly feel a middle and lasting burn to the skin in my mounth.
[–]jackparis75 2 points I just created a ticket today concerning this lot as I had the same problem the guy describe here, but I had the good idea not to take any , just a tiny bit on my tongue after I watch the very strong chemical reaction lot TW141120 makes when dissolved in water !! and here I found this info browsing the web !!! Why , I mean Why didnt you warn by email your customer who bought this ?! Why are you waiting for them like me to discover by themselves there is a safety issue ?! this is unacceptable . very disappointed. And the worse part is the reply after I gave a descriptino of the problem just like the guy here ! : the support message guy write : " . I have not heard of this occurring before " called Tisha. !! unbelievable!
–]redato 1 point I would not buy anything from powder city. I ordered paramiracetam from them. Terrible quality.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/3s09og/how_are_powdercity_prices_so_low_has_anyone_had/ [–]takethisandrun 1 point I have received adrafinil from them twice. First time: it worked as expected Second time: dud batch? - brief stim effect and then nothing. [–]luke1899 2 points I noticed that too.The batch that was great was a dark red, the batch that sucked was more of a pink color, correct? [–]takethisandrun 1 point yes!!
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/3u06ec/oxiracetam_from_powdercity/ I just got my order today of 25g of Oxiracetam and for the first time in 2 years of using the stuff off and on the powder is very different. From every vendor I've gotten it from, it has always been a crystal like powder that was sweet to the taste.. There is a sweet taste to it but also a very bitter chemical taste with almost a little bit of numbing.
[–]luke1899 1 point 7 months ago None of those tests you ran would show left over solvent in the compound. I think its very irresponsible as a company to just say "tests look good, ship it" when it looks and tastes differently. Until you knew exactly why this lot looked/tasted differently, you shouldn't have sent any of it out
[–]ramacin 0 points 7 months ago I've had the same experience as the OP - ordered oxi powder 25gms a few weeks ago from PC, and was surprised at consistency - finer powder rather than the larger granules I expected. I have used oxi off and on for around 3 years, and have always responded well to it, but this batch gave me no positive effects, only irritability, headache and fatigue, with the irritability persisting for a day or two. Tried with choline, but same effects.TrapandRelease[S] Well my old habits kicked in and I took the risk of taking a standard dose (750mg) to test it out. Honestly it did feel quite different. I was irritable and it did not feel like oxiracetam.. I'm going to write up a serious email to them tonight and I've already been contacted by a regular contributor to this sub who wants to test out what it is that I have. I will be sending him a sample this week and hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. This is extremely dangerous and if people without my experience were to run into a mix up like this it could be catastrophic. I mean what if this is unifram or something similar where 750 milligrams could greatly damage your brain..
Hello! I'm going to buy some Pramiracetam (still deciding on whether I'm getting powder or capsules as they are surprisingly of the same price for the corresponding amount of drug) from PowderCity.com so wondering if anyone could help me on dispersing my doubts and sharing experience in general.
Here are the links to powder and to capsules.
I. Besides the low price an issue that bothers me is the initial price of powder (which is $148.75 for 25g). I'd appreciate if anyone could explain me:
- why is it so high?
- why is there such a huge discount?
- knowing that capsules are of nearly the same price as the powder (for instance 90 capsules which is around 22.5g are $34.98 while 25g of powder is $35.99 if looking at the price with discount) does it mean that capsules are of the poorer quality?
II. I asked them for a third party CoA (customer service was really prompt and helpful by the way) and this is what I got:
- Powder https://www.dropbox.com/s/x8da659wjpbwm7r/PRMIR20160308%20metals.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/rnn3gkoo86zctqw/PRMIR20160308.JPG?dl=0
- Capsules https://www.dropbox.com/s/hgt7hdi6f5dmn32/PRAMCP20160128%20metals.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/w8dw2pg8ju95qrp/PRMCP20160128.pdf?dl=0
Can anyone comment on their credibility?
III. I also found some info telling they are the former Health Supplement Wholesales who don't seem to have good reviews (this is a good one though, there may be the case that they changed their policy to a better one with the company name).
Generally the reviews I found create a picture of a company of a good decency but leave some doubts on quality staying on the border between top rated websites to order from and a bunch of chinese ones which are nice to deal with and cheap but not of high quality and originality.
Please share your experience even if you can't help with CoA and prices!
IV. I would also appreciate sharing your personal top choices for Pramiracetam and Noopept of exceptional quality (to the certain extent due to them being used for business purposes of course :))
P.S. I found Powder City through sunnootropics.com if this is of any relevance.
Thank you!
Had been using noopept I bought back when they were HSW and within the last few months picked up a new supply from PC. Call me crazy, but it seems to have a much different taste than what I had from HSW. Almost saltier and not as bitter. Anyone else notice anything like this or other differences between HSW noopept and PC noopept?
I have glanced at some anecdotal stuff online that suggests some batches of noopept have been reported to be cut with salt. Could this be the case here? Have I missed a post somewhere about this?
The subject says it all, but I'd like to point my finger at the two different brands/vendors I've tried.
One is a pill from the Vitamin Shoppe bragging that it is "suntheanine" and that this is a better form.
The other powder form of L-Theanine was from Health Supplements Wholesalers which is now Powder City.
The powder taste vaguely sweet and is really fluffy so it floats on liquid for quite a while before it finally dissolves into it. Apparently, this is really what L-theanine powder is supposed to be like, but I mention it just to verify that this is correct. The only complaint I saw mentioning the fact that it didn't work and had these qualities was in a review on the old (now defuct) HSW website.
Hey all, sorry to not be contributing much, but had to pop in with a quick question. I was a customer of HSW before they rebranded to Powder City, and while I was very happy with their previous offerings, I'm not sure if I want to purchase from them again until there has been a long enough window for them to definitively establish a positive reputation. While I have enough of a stockpile to last me quite a while before I need to sniff out new sources for Choline, Theanine and etc., I am in a significantly more rushed need of Phenylpiracetam. Is there anyone around with experience from multiple vendors who could give input on the highest quality Phenylpiracetam available? I was considering Arkansas Nootropics because I've had a good response to their Etizolam and was considering their Adrafinil, but that would be more out of convenience than anything else, and I am 100% open to suggestions.
Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for contributions!
Edit: I'm also considering Peak Nootropics because they have recent CoAs that seem to indicate good quality, but any first-hand experience would be immensely appreciated.
one year ago on health supplement wholesalers ( now powdercity.com ) i bought these nootropics , i have 3 plastic box in my drawer and i had to stop because I took something else and I did not want to mix , so now i'd like to retry the experience but I do not know if they are still edible , i threw the original packaging so i have no indications about the date . Thanks !

Does anyone else collect and test supplements in order to find what is optimal for one's individual biology?
I ordered Aniracetam, choline cps, caffeine + theanine and sulbutiamine from Health Supplement Wholesalers a little over a month ago. Originally I was taking the choline and aniracetam every day for about 2 weeks - and I felt absolutely nothing. I fiddled with changing up the dosages and dosing more often and still nothing. Now I know some people don't get much effect from those nootropics so I just figured I was one of them. But then I tried the sulbutiamine, which people seem to feel after the first dose, first I took around 800mg, then upped it to 1200 a few days later. I have yet to feel anything from it. Is it possible the batch was bad or is it normal that some people just don't get affected by these substances?
Also I have taken the caffeine + theanine pills in dosages of up to 400mg of caffeine and felt nothing - I drink coffee but I can easily feel a NoDoze. Thoughts?
Earlier this year, I ordered 200mg Sulbutiamine capsules from HSW which I ended up co-dosing with Armodafinil (generic - Armod). Some days, I would only dose with Sulbutiamine and vice versa. In any event, it seemed to provide an overall elevated effect although I hadn't done any objective tests like Dual N' Back etc. - just my own subjective experience.
A few weeks ago, I decided to cycle off the Armodafinil (which I'd been taking about 3 times per week) but continued to take Sulbutiamine although not on a regular daily basis, and that's when I noticed especially during this past week & a half that it seemed to induce some extremely deep napping sessions during the daytime. Not brain foggish at all, just sleepiness, and actually (as I had the time fortunately) pleasurable (deep sleep etc.). These nap sessions would run - unless interrupted - for a solid 4-7 hours ... and even then, my regular sleeptime would be unhindered. This morning, I awoke at my usual 0630, then after dosing with Sulbutiamine (2 x 200mg), got hit with a wave of sleepiness from 0800 and slept for another 4 hours (until a phone call woke me up).
If I had to compare it to any other substance in my limited experience, it felt like I actually dosed with melatonin (without the 'sleep hangover' that I sometimes get with too much melatonin).
I am very certain that what I am taking is Sulbutiamine ... I am just more curious to know whether my hunch that Sulbutiamine might be causing this sleepiness? And, if so, how & why?
A friend and I have been designing a Nootropic stack. We ordered 30+ ingredients as bulk powders from Health Supplement Wholesalers and kept them in sealed tubberware containers for testing.
Unfortunately, our Alpha-GPC has literally turned to glue. It has the consistency of chewing gum and is unusuable as a bulk powder. This is after 3 months of storage.
Has this happened to anyone? Is it the Alpha-GPC? The way we stored it? Perhaps just an issue with this batch?
Thanks.
Has anyone ever ordered huperzine a from them? This was my second time. First batch was kind of granular and white. It's now a brown color, yet sort of the same texture. Ordered a larger batch this time. I'm thinking it is just a different filler since it is a 1% formula. Anyone else have much previous experience with them?
Do you guys know where can I buy artichoke extract in bulk? Basically, I'm interested in making my own stack with the ingredients that I like most. It'll be a combination of Alpha Brain and CILTEP, sort of.
Also, regarding Forskolin dosage, ciltep consists of 50mg (20% coleus forskholii extract) and the one I plan on using is scaled for a 10% concentration. - As stated on hsw website "Dosage is scaled for a 10% concentration. For best results, individuals should take 250mg two times per day."
So what's the catch here? Would 100mg of 10% forskolin suffice?
I just noticed that Examine describes aniracetam as very bitter, and recommends capping it. The ani that I got from HSW a couple months ago doesn't have much taste at all. Any impressions on the disparity?
I know that sometimes different batches of nootropics can vary a bit in texture and color. For instance, some of my adrafinil has been fluffier, while others have been finer. However, they were still pretty similar.
Last time I bought phenibut I got it from Health Supplement Wholesalers. It had a salty type texture, being made of crystals a bit smaller than table salt.
I got some from Nootropics Depot and it's entirely different, almost cotton candy like in the texture. It does taste the same as the HSW phenibut so it's real, but can any chemistry whizzes here explain why the same compound can be so different in texture and appearance?
I don't see D-ribose supplementation mentioned often. I think I only recall one person telling me a long time ago they took it for energy or something. But I noticed that HSW stocks it under nootropics and I'm not sure why.
Has anyone reached a conclusion on this stuff? Preliminary pubmedding doesn't make it sound particularly good.
As a skinny female, I can't help but think that recommended dosages might be a bit too much for me. I decided to post this after reading sunifiram description on hsw website. - Does the mg [substance] / kg of bodyweight apply to everything or just certain products?
Please share your experiences. Thank you.
I got some phenylpiracetam today from HSW and have always heard it tastes pretty bad. However, I took 100 mg and tasted it, and it didn't really taste much like anything. It slightly numbed my tongue.
Is this in line with the phenylpiracetam from other sources? For the record my experience with HSW has been overwhelmingly positive, it just struck me as odd that it wasn't even close to nasty like I heard but rather tasteless.
One of the things I ordered was this Ginkgo Biloba, which comes in pills. It seems to be from a company I've never heard of, so I was wondering if anyone had anything to say about it.
Also does anyone know of any heavy metal testing done on their products? I've only just started taking the ashwagandha, and I'm not super worried but a bit curious. Also the Bacopa specifically.
EDIT: I'm not being compensated, all I did was ask a couple questions. I did say I was satisfied with what I had ordered so far, but I took that out of the original post cause I guess that's considered misleading? Ok whatever.
Coluracetam is one of the nootropics I can say had a noticeable effect on the first day of dosing. I had read lots about coluracetam both on reddit, longecity, and the health supplement wholesalers website (which actually has decent summaries of purported effects, with sources to back up their info.) and finally decided to pull the trigger and order some to try myself.
Onset time is relatively standard compared to most substances if ingested orally or sublingually (2 minutes sublingual, 30 minutes oral ingestion). Often when I do dose, I swallow a 15mg capsule, and then place about 10-15mg under my tongue for quicker effects. Overall, my experience with coluracetam has been one of my best with nootropics. I did notice more prominently on the first two doses the sensory perception differences. Colors indeed seemed more lively and vivid, and I heard sounds more acutely or transduced them more accurately/efficiently.
The memory enhancing qualities of coluracetam were what I found myself most interested in. I would sometimes catch myself remembering events that happened in my life when I was around seven years old, and if I could take a guess, memorization and recall of memorized topics increased by a factor of 150% (subjectively). Information I came across through reading was easier to comprehend, and even just reading something once, I was able to remember more information from it. I came into exams at school more confidently because studying became easy, and I could recall facts and other lines of info that helped me to come up with the right answer.
Along with my mental processes, my mood was improved although not in a euphoric-style that one may experience with phenibut or PEA per se. I felt silly or goofy sometimes in ways that I usually don’t act. It could have been memories of my personality from childhood, but I’m not sure. Along side the increase in mood, anxiety was mitigated and sensitivity to caffeine was increased noticeably as well.
For anyone who is looking to try something new, I definitely recommend experimenting with coluracetam, as it has given me some of my most interesting experiences with cognitive enhancement. It is relatively cheap at the moment, and so far I think my best deal is with health supplement wholesalers at $19 per ½ gram, and $30 per gram (I recommend getting the plastic tub instead of the baggies); though many other sellers like newstarnootropics carry it as well for a bit more.
Any questions feel free to PM me or leave a comment!
Cheers.
Has this happened to anyone else? Am I a non-responder?
Yesterday I took noopept, 10mg in the morning and 10mg again after lunch. Today I took 20mg, two times after meals. I feel a "buzzing" in my head, but absolutely none of the visual or other nootropic effects commonly mentioned.
edit: I received the Noopept from Health Supplement Wholesalers. They came precapped, I believe size 0 caps, and they are ENTIRELY FULL. This seems very strange since there has to be several hundred mg of powder in these caps, even though the bag states "10mg noopept capsules" anyone have an idea of what's going on?
Also, I am experiencing mild stomach discomfort that seems to be characteristic of noopept... but with none of the positive effects.
I'm looking at bulk powder for Rhodiola. The recommended dosage range is all over the place on different sources, but 350mg/day seems like a safe starting point.
My problem is those numbers are based off 3% Rosavins and 1% Salidroside. Nootropics Depot and Health Supplements Wholesalers are both advertising 3% Salidroside. ND doesn't list the Rosavins content. HSW says 1% Rosavins.
If Salidroside is more important for the fatigue, cognition, stress, and depression improvements, then the ND/HSW products are a great deal. Otherwise, they kinda suck. And if I get either of their products, I'm not sure what the dosage should be.
I'm totally lost here.
First off I'd like to point out that this is not a paid review nor am I affiliated with this website in any way. I am writing this review because of a flyer I was given in a recent order stating that I could review a product and potentially receive a $20 discount on my next order. Since I have had very, very good experiences with this vendor in the past, I figured, why not?
I have purchased from Health Supplement Wholesalers approximately 5 times, with nothing but positive results. A few of the more notable products I've ordered include Phenibut, Aniracitam, Choline Bitartrate, Galantamine, Ashwagandha, and Bacopa Monnieri.
My absolute favorite product of theirs is the Ashwagandha. For those who don't know, Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb with a metric ton of health benefits, including anxiolytic effects. No other supplement has had such profound positive effects on my life thus far as a 20 year old with prior sever anxiety and depression issues. Since I started a regiment of taking 500mg twice per day with the occasional break; I am calmer, I have more energy, I sleep better at night, my anxiety is decreased by a significant amount, and I'm just much happier! :D
I ordered 50 grams of a 2.5% powdered extract a few months ago and am still very happy with the order. It arrived within a week to the midwest U.S. in a moderately sized package. The powder itself was inside sealed and resealable foil bag appropriate for the amount of powder it contained.
The product itself very cheap compared to many other sources. This product comes out to approximately 7 cents per dose of 500mg since 50 grams was $7.29. Most other listings for encapsulated Ashwagandha on Amazon cost nearly twice as much!
Most of their products have a COA which is openly viewable on the products page, here is the one for their Ashwagandha. The only thing I am even the slightest bit disappointed with is the lack of extensiveness in some of the COAs, like the one I pictured here. As you can see, all it shows is that this product is, in fact, Ashwagandha. I would appreciate it if I could see the heavy metal content or a verification of the stated percentage of withanolides in the product.
All in all, I could not be happier with this vendor and I would sincerely recommend them to anyone looking for cheap and high-quality supplements and nootropics.
Thanks for reading. :)
