Overlap in topics and similar editing behaviour. They clearly share the same interests in general (historic mosques and historical Muslim or Arab figures from the Middle East) and the similarities include:
- Yusuf has edited many of the same articles that Boredom889 edited (e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]) or has been one of the only other major contributors to articles that Boredom889 created (including [8], [9], [10]).
- One particular focus for both has been creating or making major edits en masse to articles about mosques and Islamic tombs in Egypt and Iraq; e.g. Boredom editing or creating Demerdash Mosque,Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque, Mausoleum of Yacoub bin Abd al-Rahman, Ahmad al-Badawi Mosque, Mosque of the Prophet Daniel, Kirkuk, Hamu al-Qadu Mosque, Shah Cheragh, etc.; while Yusuf created Mashhad al-Tabataba, Amr ibn al-As Mosque (Damietta), Sidi Zouk Tomb, Al-Hamra Mosque (Kufa), Shaykh Rajab Mosque, Sheikh Ma'ruf Cemetery, etc.
- There are other small connections, such as both of them editing Mahmud al-Alusi and then Yusuf later creating Mahmud Shukri al-Alusi (related to the former).
- They both resort to the same kind of sourcing, often citing almost strictly online news and random websites (in Arabic) rather than scholarly references, e.g. compare references added here and here (edits by Boredom) with here and here (created by Yusuf).
There are other WP:OR and inaccuracy issues with their editing that might overlap, but explaining them would require disproportionate space here. Yusuf is (so far) not repeating the specific behaviour that got Boredom889 banned (racist attacks against other editors) and seems to be avoiding articles where Boredom889 previously clashed with others, so I'm requesting a CU to verify my suspicions.
