September 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Avan Jogia, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 18:53, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Avan Jogia, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Google "Avan Jogia" and "Pronouns". He/they is all over the web. Removal here won't hide it. Cite a source stating Jogia doesn't use them. Adakiko (talk) 19:01, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nope - it's a clear BLP concern. Wikipedia guidance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons requires biographies of living people to treat personal info with sensitivity. If Jogia doesn't want to be defined by pronouns on their instagram profile (which can be confirmed by reference to the profile here https://www.instagram.com/jogia/?hl=en), Wikipedia shouldn't be including it. The story in this case is not notable enough to trump Jogia's privacy.
