YMMV / Jedi Apprentice

Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Go here.
  • Faux Symbolism: Guerra and Paxxi's names. No, one is not warlike and the other a pacifist, nor do they have any kind of rivalry or otherwise opposing personalities. They both act like Loveable Rogues, in fact.
  • First Installment Wins: The Jedi Apprentice series is better-liked than its sequel installments, Jedi Quest and The Last Of The Jedi, although some of the characters from those two spinoff series are more iconic to many readers such as Ferus Olin, Trever Flume, Granta Omega, Darra Thel-Tanis, Tru Veld, and Fy-Tor-Ana.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Go here.
  • Informed Wrongness: Pretty much every mention of the Melida/Daan incident and Obi-Wan leaving the Jedi to help them afterward is portrayed as the wrong choice for Obi-Wan to have made in both Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest, despite the fact that his intervention greatly helped put an end to a planet-wide centuries-long war and the fact that Qui-Gon all but forced him to leave by putting him in one hell of a Sadistic Choice.
  • Memetic Mutation: A meme is frequently passed around of an anguished looking Obi-Wan taken from Revenge of the Sith with the caption "Bought an iPhone just so he could talk to Siri again".
  • Moment of Awesome: Qui-Gon tames a draigon and rides it just by thinking hard at it.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Both twins being hidden villains in the New Apsolon Trilogy can feel disappointing, given how some fans liked them better as heroes, and it might have made for a better story to make it clear to the readers, but not to the characters, that one twin was guilty while making it hard to guess which and setting up a powerful confrontation between the sisters when the guilty one was exposed.
