This is not the galaxy you’re looking for…

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is a 2024 sci-fi comedy limited series in the LEGO Star Wars franchise. It is showrun by Dan Hernadez and Benji Samit (Pokémon Detective Pikachu, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem) and stars the voices of Gaten Matarazzo, Tony Revolori, Bobby Moynihan, Marsai Martin, Michael Cusack, and Star Wars franchise veterans Ahmed Best returning as Jar Jar Binks and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.

An ordinary young nerf herder finds himself trapped in an alternate universe version of the Star Wars galaxy - one where the Rebel Alliance and many of the universe’s heroes have turned to the dark side. The miniseries will premiere on Disney+ September 13, 2024.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy:

  • Art Shift: The series is animated more like The LEGO Movie than previous Lego Star Wars specials, with the trailer presenting a more stop-motion style.
  • Ascended Meme: Several of the Bizarro Universe changes in the trailer reference fandom in-jokes:
    • Jedi Bob was an inside joke within the LEGO subcommunity, playing up his prominence despite only existing in one LEGO set from 2002.
    • The TIE Fighter/X-Wing hybrids reference a discovery that the wing portions of their corresponding LEGO sets were interchangeable without having to add extra bricks.
    • Ewok bounty hunters are a common mashup despite the two groups being polar opposites in-universe.
    • The last shot of the trailer features Darth Jar Jar, referencing the theory that Jar Jar Binks is secretly a Sith lord.
Darth Jar Jar: Meesa gonna hurt yousa!
  • Bizarro Universe: The premise for the specials, as laid out in the trailer, is that a disruption in space-time causes a Muggle to get stuck in an alternate reality where everything is backwards, including most of the good characters becoming evil and vice versa.
  • Canon Immigrant: The trailer features the first official on-screen appearance of "Jedi Bob" (as identified in the captions), a generic LEGO minifigure in a Jedi Knight costume who originally appeared in the 2002 "Republic Gunship" LEGO set.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: The trailer opens with a narration on how time and space are coming undone.
  • Wham Shot: Last shot of the trailer features Jar Jar Binks stepping out of The Millennium Falcon, as a Sith Lord.
