Mia's World, styled Mias World, is a Stick-Figure Comic made by Mogry 311 on their deviantart page. It begins following their OCs, and tells about our two main protagonists, Mia and Mr. World.
The first page can be found here, as well as a masterlist under the 'Comics to Make You Question Your Existence' folder, here.
Tropes in this Web Comic include:
- Affectionate Nickname: Mia gives these out like candy to anybody she meets. Enemie is the boy she met in comic two, Mr. World is her sister's husband's brother, King is her sister's husband, and she calls her sister Big Sister.
- Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Mr. World as a last-ditch attempt at getting mercy.
- Ambiguously Absent Parent: If Lyer really is Enemie's father.
- Ambiguously Bi: Although we have seen Mr. World talking to his ex-girlfriend, Mogry once (albeit jokingly) said he shipped Lychael together.
- Ambiguously Related: Though the creator hinted about it on Discord, and there have been non-canon sketches of the two interacting, it has never been comfirmed outright whether Enemie and Lyer are related or not.
- On a Downplayed note, the Fanmade wiki states that one of the Murray brothers might be adopted and that '44 and Mia might also not be blood.
- Art Shift: Throughout the comic, this is used to show character perspectives, and happens later when other artists come in to help with the project.
- Bilingual Bonus: The Korean on the painting translates to 'help me'.
- Bizarre Sexual Dimorphism: King and World have no necks, and Word of God says that this is usually the case with most males of this species.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Mia herself acknowledges our existence, looking straight into the 'wall' and greeting us happily at the beginning of the comic and then introducing '44 to us.
- Chekhov's Skill: Inverted because TME came before Mia's World. King is adept in medicine. He later drugs Mr. World by injecting him.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Enemie attempts to brush her off with hostility, Mia replies with a warm greeting, much to his confusion.
- Downer Ending: Mia dies, Mr. World is kidnapped, drugged, sent to a likely vigilante Kangaroo Court and electrocuted into possible catatonia by his own brother, and '44, and Lyer is a Karma Houdini who gets off scot-free for everything he did to the main cast despite Mr. World claiming again and again that he is real..
- Establishing Character Moment:
- and also:
Mia: Who are you?Enemie: I'm your enemy! - Enfante Terrible: Enemie.
- Go Mad from the Revelation: In one bonus strip, where Mr. World starts a conversation about the disappearing trees, King tells him he'll become depressed if he thinks about it too much.
- Ironic Name: '44 is the angel's number, and she hates Michael.
- Implied Love Interest: Enemie blushes and gets flustered when Mia asks him to hang-out, and during the dream about Love, Mia is his designated partner.
- Invisible Anatomy: King, as with all stickmen males has no neck, and yet is able to drink tea. Mr. World is also able to be strangled despite no neck aswell.
- Meaningful Name: Lyer is both a misspelling of liar, and also means 'to tie [someone] up', one of the first things he does to Mr. World during their second meeting.
- Four, aside from the angelic meaning, is also considered unlucky as well. '44 becomes a villain later.
- Mr. World's real name is Michael (Michael means 'Who is like god'.) and he's being tormented by a demon.
- The Nicknamer: Mia.
- Rouge Angles of Satin: In-Universe, along with just plain mispelling, because Mia really needs a functional spellchecker for her drawings. Such as her using the word lyer instead of liar.
- Out of Universe ones occur occasionally as mistakes, which Mogry went back to fix.
- Stylistic Suck: For Mia's drawings. note
- Trademark Favorite Drink: King's is tea.
- Tsundere: Enemie.
- Wham Line: "Who's that guy that came in with Mr. Mike?"
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Mr. World has worn dresses on multiple occasions.
- For funny, in TTLO, Enemie is shown briefly wearing a women's speedo.
- You Are Number 6: An unexplained variant with '44.
