- In "No Need For a Partner" where everyone says goodbye to Mihoshi. Even Ryoko is able to spare a few words despite being enemies. She runs back to her ship breaking down in tears, and not from her usual outbursts. Though she is overjoyed when her supervisor assigns her and Kiyone to patrol the Solar System.
- In "No Need For Memories" in Universe, Tenchi remembers the day that began his Missing Mom. Breaking into tears, he is embraced by an equally heartbroken Nobuyuki.
- In the English dub, young Tenchi's cry is made to blend with the snowy winds for dramatic effect.
- In "No Need For Ghosts", Sasami befriends a ghost girl named Mirei and spends time playing with her in an illusory world alongside Ryo-Ohki. She eventually realizes she has to return to her friends and family and apologizes to her new friend, but Mirei says she's just happy to have a happy memory to cherish, as she's been dead for so long she doesn't even remember her previous life. The episode closes on a photo of Mirei sitting all alone, but it changes to having Sasami and Ryo-Ohki with her, all of them laughing.
- The loss of Azaka and Kamidake in Episode 22. While everyone feels badly over losing them, Ayeka is hit hardest of all. Fortunately, they were revived in the final episode.
- Episode 24, Ryoko is badly wounded but keeps it a secret from Tenchi. She manages to fly him past Jurai's defenses and drops him off at the palace. All while pretending, she won't go to rescue Ayeka with Tenchi because she "can't stand her", leaving in Ryo-Ohki. Ryoko is mortally wounded and keeps it a secret from Tenchi (even when hugging him goodbye) apparently dies of blood loss in the cockpit with an odd smile... Ouch.
- The only one to see this is Ryo-Ohki. :(
Ryo-Ohki: Meoooow...- Fortunately, she gets better after the battle with Kagato is over, somehow.
- In Tenchi Muyo! In Love, Tenchi coming close to a Heroic B So D over his parents being sucked into Sub-Space, begging for Washu to do something.
