Rigby begins freaking out when a British taxi begins haunting him after he watches a horror movie about it.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Ask a Stupid Question...: Benson tells the duo that he is late for a Cricket sports round. Mordecai, thinking this could help Rigby get over his fear of the taxicab, asks if British people will be there. Benson's response is, "It's Cricket. What do you think?"
  • Attack of the Killer Whatever: The movie "Ello, Gov'nor!" features a British taxicab possessed by the soul of a murdered cab driver.
  • Brick Joke: At the beginning of the episode, Rigby runs into a video store employee, who has to wear a very embarrassing costume that is advertising their latest movie to rent. Near the end, it's revealed the taxicab that was following Rigby throughout the episode was the employee all along, wanting Rigby to return "Ello Gov'nor" to the video store.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Rigby has two after watching the movie. The first one involves him feeling the presence of the British Taxicab and trying to wake up what appears to be Mordecai, only to find to his horror that it is somehow the taxi itself, which then proceeds to RIP through Mordecai’s head and pounce on Rigby. The second one involves Rigby trying to be a tough gangster, only for the taxicab to attack him nonetheless.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Ello, Gov'nor!"
  • Chekhov's Gunman: The costume guy standing outside the video store is the one hounding Rigby in the latter half of the story, due to Rigby been late in returning the movie.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: Mordecai tries to desensitize Rigby to the movie by pressing his face against the TV and forcing him to watch the movie over and over again. Over a day of this doesn't work, and Mordecai is exhausted.
  • Diabolus ex Nihilo: While the back of the box does explain the plot to Ello, Gov'nor!, a bored Mordecai complains the movie itself never did actually clarify if the car was an evil machine or possessed by a human ghost.
  • Gasp!: You'd gasp loudly too if a murderous British taxi was seemingly stalking you, at least if you're actually scared of that stuff.
  • Genius Bonus: When the opening title for Ello, Gov'nor! comes up, the Roman numerals displaying the year the film was made translate to 1982, the same year that J. G. Quintel was born.
  • Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: Well, not "kids" per se, but Mordecai warns Rigby that if he watches a horror movie, he'll be scared for the night. Rigby scoffs at this, but after he watches the movie, he indeed is scared that night.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Mordecai see the killer British taxicab.
    "Holy crap, it's real!"
  • Parody: Ello Gov'nor is a parody of Christine.
  • Riding into the Sunset: After getting over his fear of "Ello Gov'nor!", Rigby dreams of driving a British taxi into the moon.
  • Scare Chord: In Rigby's first nightmare, he looks out the window to see the taxicab out in the front lawn. He then turns to Mordecai to call to him, who is sleeping. He looks back at the window, to see that the taxicab is RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. This scene is accompanied by a very intense Scare Chord.
  • Sinister Car: Rigby gets scared by a British Taxi ever since watching a movie of the same name.
  • Sinister Switchblade: In Rigby's second dream, a thug corners him into an alley, and he pulls out a straight razor, intending to probably kill him. "Riggerson" is not scared at all, and pins the thug onto a wall, making him drop it.
  • Stylistic Suck: Again, Ello Gov'nor.
  • Trauma Button: At a cricket game, the Brits all happily greet Rigby with a certain catchphrase.
  • Visible Boom Mic: Mordecai points this out while trying to make Rigby watch the movie again until he stops being scared.
  • "You!" Exclamation: Rigby in response to learning the car was actually the costume guy from the video store.
