- Heterosexual Life-Partners: Two people of the same sex who are very close friends with no explicit romantic/sexual feelings.
- It Meant Something to Me: Two people pretend to be in a real relationship (either with or without both characters' knowledge), only for one person to reveal they've developed genuine feelings for the other.
- Just Friends: Two people insist they're only friends, but chances are they won't stay that way.
- Like an Old Married Couple: Friends bicker and banter the way a married couple might, but without being married.
- Like Brother and Sister: A male character and a female character have a sibling-like relationship.
- Mistaken for Cheating: A character mistakenly believes their significant other is cheating on them, often due to seeing them with someone who turns out to be a friend or relative.
- Mistaken for Romance: The relationship between two characters is mistakenly believed to be a romantic one.
- Not a Date: Two characters hanging out together are mistakenly believed to be on a date.
