DC Super Hero Girls is a spinoff franchise of DC Comics where various characters are high schoolers at a school for superheroes. It is a multimedia franchise that includes several children's chapter books.
The main books are written by Lisa Yee. They exist in the same universe as the web-series, but unlike the shorts they're more focused on character development and action. Each book is focused on one different character.
Books:
- Wonder Woman at Super Hero High
- Supergirl at Super Hero High
- Batgirl at Super Hero High
- Katana at Super Hero High
- Harley Quinn at Super Hero High
This series provides examples of:
- Catchphrase: Harley Quinn has "YOWZA" (in black all-caps) as her catchphrase, along with a few derivatives such as "WOWZA" to a lesser degree.
- Detention Episode: Harley is sent to detention in Harley Quinn at Super Hero High after pulling a publicity stunt for her web-series. Ivy and the Flash are also there, respectively for Ivy's pet plant getting loose and Flash breaking the speed barrier.
- Multiple-Choice Past: Harley Quinn mentions that her parents are distant and busy, but she gives everyone different occupations. She even told Beast Boy she was raised by raccoons.
- Silent Treatment: In chapter 2 of Harley Quinn at Super Hero High, Harley is given this by everyone after pulling a cruel prank. She doesn't understand why everyone is upset.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Characters whose parents are dead in the comics, such as Katana's, mention having living parents.
- Stock Animal Diet: Principal Grodd (a gorilla) likes bananas and bamboo a lot.
- Sweet Tooth:
- Bumblebee is fond of honey.
- Wonder Woman likes to eat a sugary cereal for breakfast.
