One of the reasons why Robots was rated PG was because of "suggestive humor". Judging by some of the jokes in the movie, it's understandable as to why it got that content descriptor.
- From the beginning of the film, when Rodney is being built:
- When Herb (Rodney's father) gets home, his wife Lydia tells him, "Oh, I'm sorry, honey, you missed the delivery... but it's okay. Making the baby's the fun part." For added measure, sultry saxophone music starts playing.
- After Rodney is built, his parents comment on an unseen "extra piece" that they forgot to attach. His dad says, "Oh yeah, they always put in an extra... We did want a boy, right?", indicating that the extra piece is actually a penis.
- The hobo robot at the train station has a sign that says "Got screwed" with a real screw in place of the word "screw".
- Fender tries to get some mail from the mailbox, and the mailbox hits Fender for sleeping with his sister; "I recognize the handwriting."
- When Rodney asks "Who wants to get fixed?" (as in, repaired) to a group of robots, a robotic dog then covers up its crotch while whimpering.
- While repairing Fender, Rodney asks about the last time Fender was "oiled".Fender: Well, can't really answer that with my kid sister right here...
- Madame Gasket tells Ratchet to "grow some bolts" in one scene, the robot equivalent of "grow some balls".
- At one point, there's a bathroom where the men's bathroom is represented by a plug, and the women's bathroom is represented by a socket. This also doubles as a Genius Bonus, given that plugs and sockets are sometimes referred to as "male" and "female" connectors, respectively.
- It's implied that Bigweld Really Gets Around, judging by what's strongly suggested to be a love-making pad in his limousine.
- After Fender smacks Tim, Tim lands upside down on his hat, causing his robe to fall down. The nudity is only shown offscreen, but a crowd gasps and a woman Faints in Shock at the sight.
- In one scene, a receptionist recommends that her friend uses a "Brazilian wax" like she does.
