Terry Bisson (1942-2024) was an American author who wrote in the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres. He was best known for his short stories, which won multiple Hugo and Nebula awards, but also wrote novels, comic books, and non-fiction. Many of Bisson's stories were set in southern Appalachia, where he was born and grew up.

Novels
- Fire on the Mountain - an Alternate History novel based on the premise that General Harriet Tubman and John Brown led a successful slave revolt in the American south and established the independent socialist state of Nova Africa.
- Saint Leibowitz and the Wild Horse Woman - a sequel to Walter M. Miller's A Canticle for Leibowitz, which Bisson completed and published with Miller's permission.
- Talking Man - a fantasy novel about the titular character, a Kentucky car mechanic who is secretly a wizard.
- Bisson also wrote several novelizations for movies in the 1990s, including:
