Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Stuart station (Brightline) → Stuart station (move · discuss) – Only contemporary "Stuart station" in a 21st Century setting, currently being planned, all other "Stuart stations" are obscure, historic stations, and most of them don't have their own articles. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 18:46, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- User talk:Cleo Cooper/Archive 2024 is invalid. Must create User talk:Cleo Cooper/Archive 2024 before requesting that it be moved to User talk:Cleo Cooper/Archive 1.– I messed up my archive because I was testing it out. Can someone help me rename this? Coop (talk) 21:52, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Jon Kent (DC Comics) → Jonathan Samuel Kent (currently a redirect back to Jon Kent (DC Comics)) (move · discuss) – WP:NATURALDAB -- this character was created in 2015 with this full name. Other DC characters named Jon Kent that preceded 2015 are not this character. This is not an overview article of Jon Kents in DC Comics, nor the Smallville father of Clark -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 11:22, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- We do not use full names if they are not commonly used, even for fictional characters. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:46, 30 April 2024 (UT)
- Virtually all sources refer to this character as "Jon Kent". I don't think this is necessary. Coop (talk) 21:54, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Guy Boyd (sculptor) → Guy Martin à Beckett Boyd (currently a redirect back to Guy Boyd (sculptor)) (move · discuss) – This is the subject's actual name. The Adventures of the Not So Venerable Mr. Siggs (talk) 21:54, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- It's his full name but not his common name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:46, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Battle of Wiłkomierz → Battle of Pabaiskas (currently a redirect back to Battle of Wiłkomierz) (move · discuss) – Harmonization with the article's text. The new name is also the most commonly used in academia, as Google Scholar gives 19 results for "Battle of Pabaiskas" [1] whereas only one for "Battle of Wiłkomierz" [2]. +JMJ+ (talk) 16:15, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- +JMJ+ the current page title is a result of a RM discussion. Please open another one if you wish to move it. – robertsky (talk) 10:33, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- Shinwari (Pashtun tribe) (currently a redirect to Shinwari) → Shinwari (move · discuss) – Unnecessary title, it's a Uniquely named tribe, only a further headache when writing articles. Shinwari is all that is needed and won't be confused with anything else, just improves writing on Wikipedia. RevolutionaryPatriot (talk) 08:49, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- @RevolutionaryPatriot: See Shinwari (disambiguation). Shinwari is also a surname and a district. --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 14:50, 29 April 2024 (UTC)- Shinwari is a surname because in the world, the last name indicates a person's ancestry or tribal affiliation, being that of the Shinwari tribe. The Shinwari district in rural Parwana province isn't going to be confused with anyone because of how unknown it is. Tell me if you still think this is a needed clarification. RevolutionaryPatriot (talk) 21:47, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- This seems like a case where the Pashtun tribe is the primary topic. Hydrangeans (she/her | talk | edits) 04:25, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Exactly, there's only one meaning to the word "Shinwari" anywhere. The District is named after the predominant tribe, the surname is from members of the the tribe.
- Shinwari has solely one use, people write up history in different articles on the tribe, history of India, Afghanistan, Anglo-Afghan Wars, ethnic background in biographies etc and they'd like to write Shinwari, there is no comparable usage on a wiki article on this website where someone will need to link Shinwari (District) or Surname, only the tribe. Needs to be properly named, for some reason the disambiguation page itself used take the name Shinwari, an uncorrected mistake of years that can be fixed now. - European Federation (currently a redirect to Federal Europe) → Federal Europe (move · discuss) – See talkpage consensus at Talk:European Federation#Requested move 21 April 2024. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 17:29, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'm slightly hesitant to call it a "talk page consensus"... The RM was for a different title and was withdrawn, albeit that some participants stated a preference for Federal Europe. It seems like if an alternative title is to be proposed it should probably be discussed at a fresh RM, or at least have let the original RM run its course and closed by an independent closer. — Amakuru (talk) 22:16, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Neveselbert: Moved this to Contested Requests. This is not obviously uncontroversial. Station1 (talk) 07:07, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Airtel Bangladesh → Airtel (Bangladesh) (currently a redirect back to Airtel Bangladesh) (move · discuss) – Airtel Bangladesh was a independent company till 2016. At now Airtel is a licensed brand of Robi Axiata Ltd. So it should be moved on the proposd title. ~ Farhan Snigdho (message) 06:16, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- This move doesn't seem necessary to me, per WP:NATURALDIS and WP:TITLECON - all other entries at Category:Bharti Airtel are of the form Airtel <NameOfCountry>... Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 11:20, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Chynadiieve (currently a redirect to Chynadiiovo) → Chynadiiovo (move · discuss) – Common name (significantly more Google search results) and official name (used by city council website). Shwabb1 (talk) 03:53, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
