Welcome to the interface administrators' noticeboard

This is the interface administrator noticeboard, for discussion of interface administrators and coordination of edits to the interface.

Currently only interface administrators can undelete JS/CSS pages, if you have an uncontroversial undelete or deleted version retrieval request, please list it below.

Any administrator can delete JS/CSS/JSON pages, for speedy deletions just use a CSD template on the page or its talk page.

Individual requests for edits to interface or user JavaScript/CSS pages should continue to be made on their respective talk pages.

    importScript and script-installer again

I keep getting bugged about script-installer using importScript, so I would like to make a VPT discussion with a choice between having it use mw.loader.load or making a friendlier shim over mw.loader.load named importScriptBetter or something like that. (And then we'd track down all the remaining uses of {{iusc}} and switch them over.) Feedback requested. Directly pinging Izno and Xaosflux who I've discussed this with before. Convenience link to the most recent VPT discussion earlier this year. Enterprisey (talk!) 09:01, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    • Not super worried one way or the other, but would prefer to not have shims without a good reason. — xaosflux Talk 13:11, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Same. The difference in usability is pretty much trivial, but so is the cost. I would prefer no shim, but it's really not that big a deal. (We should definitely do something, though.) Writ Keeper  13:39, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Alright, no shim it is. (Maybe I'll add a preference if people complain.) My current plan is to do the migration by just having script-installer convert the whole page the next time it's used by a user to change their common.js page. Remove category from some pages

Could someone remove some css & js pages from Category:FlightTime's custom user scripts as it's due to be deleted. (as listed at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2021 October 17) Thanks. -- WOSlinker (talk) 11:42, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WOSlinker: FlightTime is active, have you tried asking them? Also, having redlink categories on personal userpages isn't really something we police too muhc. — xaosflux Talk 12:07, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I'll delete the category and ask them to remove them from their pages. -- WOSlinker (talk) 12:12, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Xaosflux and WOSlinker: There were many pages asigned to that category and sub-categories. I have already created a list of those pages here: FlightTime/Pages, I will remove all the categories, but it might take a few days. I'll start with the .js & .css pages. - FlightTime (open channel) 13:58, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Don't think this requires administrator intervention now. — xaosflux Talk 20:02, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
