:I nominate Adityavagarwal to be Editor of the Week for significant regular contributions, including the promotion of several notable articles to good status, two of which have since received Million Awards, as well as active participation in behind the scenes work, such as reviewing articles at FAC, participating in RfA and extensive work clearing the backlog at AfD. Not to mention constantly bringing positive vibes everywhere they go; they make Wikipedia a better place. User:Titodutta and User:Darylgolden both seconded this nomination |

User:Buster7 subsequently submitted a second nomination in early February: |
|||
:Adityavagarwal came to my attention as a frequent nominator of fellow WikiPedians for the EotW award. An active editor, he has helped 45 articles become GA over the last few years. He is the recipient of the Million Award for bringing Taxonomy (biology) to GA status, and two Quarter Million Awards for bringing Columbidae and Mallard to GA status. Not only an incredible editor but a kind and thoughtful human being. User:Atsme seconded with the comment, "I am humbled and honored to refer to him as a colleague, and hope for the opportunity to collaborate with him in the near future editing articles for which we share a common interest". He was the 2017 WikiCup Winner and is a member of many important WikiProjects; the Counter-Vandalism unit, the Guild of Copy Editors, the Typo Team, Environment, Ecology, Genealogy and Invention. He is an active responder at the Teahouse, helping editors find answers to varied questions. Common loon and Brown Pelican are just couple of the many articles ADDY has improved. This award is small thanks for the many industrious contributions he has made to the encyclopedia! His hard work is recognized and appreciated. |

Thanks for creating Tirathaba hannoveri, Adityavagarwal!
Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:
Note that it is more correct to write "described in 1964" rather than "discovered in 1964", as the year refers only to date of publication of a scientific name. Often specimens are collected or "discovered" much earlier than their description.

NPR Newsletter No.15 16 November 2018
Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. |
Hello Adityavagarwal,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

WAM Organizers Update
Hi WAM Organizer! Hopefully, everything works just fine so far! Need Help Button, post in any language is fine
- Here are some recent updates and clarification of rules for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
- Additional souvenirs (e.g. postcard) will be sent to Ambassadors and active organizers.
- A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
- Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia or Wikivoyage projects count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
- The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
- If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
- In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
- Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
- International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.
Please feel free to contact me and WAM team on meta talk page, send me an email by Email this User or chat with me on facebook. For some languages, the activity for WAM is very less, If you need any help please reach out to us, still, 12 more days left for WAM, Please encourage your community members to take part in it.

NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018
Hello Adityavagarwal,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Also, regardless of the article becoming a featured article or not, your work on that was really praiseworthy and masterclass! Adityavagarwal (talk) 22:44, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the support, Adityavagarwal. I don't necessarily believe that there's anything inherently wrong with the article at this point, it's more the effort of one uncollaborative user holding it back. No matter what I do to address their concerns, they just come back with more. Hopefully, we'll all be able to put this argumentative chapter in our editing histories behind us soon enough, and move on to more collaborative pastures. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 03:06, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2019 WikiCup!
Hello and Happy New Year!
Welcome to the 2019 WikiCup, the competition begins today. If you have already joined, your submission page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and we will set up your submissions page. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work during 2019, and which you have nominated this year, is eligible for points in the competition, the judges will be checking! Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! The judges for the WikiCup are Sturmvogel 66 (talk · contribs · email), Godot13 (talk · contribs · email), Vanamonde93 (talk · contribs · email) and Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email). Invitation to Organize Wiki Loves Love 2019
Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.
The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.
To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.
The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. Independent from if there is a local contest organised in your country, you can help by making the photo contest Wiki Loves Love more accessible and available to more people in the world by translating the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. See for an overview of templates/pages to be translated at our Translations page.
Imagine...The sum of all love!

25 DYK Medal
The 25 DYK Creation and Expansion Medal
I am proud to present this medal to Adityavagarwal for having 25 articles featured at Did you know section on the main page of Wikipedia. Congratulation on such a rare accomplishment; less than 450 of Wikipedia's millions of editors have received this award throughout the site's 18-year history. Your contributions to Wikipedia are greatly appreciated. Damien Linnane (talk) 07:10, 28 January 2019 (UTC) |
- Hi, I notice you have also listed yourself with 25 nominations under Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by number of DYKs#DYK nominations list. Is that a typo? I'm unable to find your DYK nominations anywhere. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:13, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yoninah Hey! Actually, I am really confused about the difference between the first and the second table. Now that I have rechecked the page, most of the DYK creators I know have their names in the first table instead of the second table, so I have removed my name now. Also, could you please tell me the difference between creation and nomination? As far as I understand, one nominates a DYK for which one improves the article to meet the DYK criteria. So, creating a DYK would also contain the process of nominating it, right? Although, I might be way too off, so could you correct my understanding? Adityavagarwal (talk) 09:42, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- "Creation" means you wrote or significantly improved the article, and "expansion" means you contributed to its 5x expansion. (More than one editor can receive a creation/expansion credit for an article.) With an article you created/expanded, you can nominate it yourself or wait for someone else to nominate it. If you nominate it, you list yourself as "creator" and leave the nominator parameter blank on the submission template. Then you will receive a DYK creation credit. If you nominate someone else's article, you list the other editor as creator and you as nominator on the template. You can also see the difference in the size and color of the box that the DYK bot leaves on your page. All the DYK credits you currently have are creation credits – light yellow boxes that fill the width of the talk page. See here for an example of nomination credits – dark orange boxes that are smaller. Does that help? Yoninah (talk) 14:06, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yoninah Thank you very much for your clear explanation! I apologize for my misunderstanding. I now understand the difference between creation and nomination. I was not aware that others could nominate a DYK which they had not created, so I felt that creation of a DYK automatically entailed nomination by the same user. Anyways, thank you again for your explanation!

To A Special Wikipedian
You are such a sweetie, there is so much I'd like to say but the words escape me. You are a Wikifriend to many because of your big heart, and the kindness and consideration you show others. Thank you for nominating me but above all, thank you for being you. ❤️ Atsme✍🏻📧 17:12, 17 February 2019 (UTC) |
- Atsme Thank you for your kind words! Due to your profound contributions to Wikipedia, you deserved the highest level awards. As I went through the list of people who received that Editor of the Week award, I was really astounded to see that you had not received it yet! So, I stole the opportunity to nominate you myself. There were innumerable reasons that I could have written to advocate the award for you. But, it would turn the nomination message into a whole Wikipedia article! So, I chose to only mention your invaluable contributions to articles on Wikipedia. Adityavagarwal (talk) 04:13, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

- Buster7 Hey, thank you too for your immense contributions to the Editor Retention! In fact, you are the one who is working so hard to disseminate this award to other editors, so you deserve far more thanks than me! Your amazing work regarding the award is really praiseworthy as it maintains an amiable atmosphere on Wikipedia and encourages editors whilst recognizing them for their efforts! Editor of the Week
Editor of the Week | ||
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project) |
User:Damien Linnane submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week in late January:
- I nominate Adityavagarwal to be Editor of the Week for significant regular contributions, including the promotion of several notable articles to good status, two of which have since received Million Awards, as well as active participation in behind the scenes work, such as reviewing articles at FAC, participating in RfA and extensive work clearing the backlog at AfD. Not to mention constantly bringing positive vibes everywhere they go; they make Wikipedia a better place. User:Titodutta and User:Darylgolden both seconded this nomination
User:Buster7 subsequently submitted a second nomination in early February:
- Adityavagarwal came to my attention as a frequent nominator of fellow WikiPedians for the EotW award.
You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:
