Shunya Palanpuri

Hi friend,

Just created an article on Shunya Palanpuri on Urdu Wikipedia (link). Can you please help with English and Gujarati versions? That way, I suppose, we can pay a tribute to this great Gujarati litterateur. Thanks in advance. --Muzammil (talk) 17:26, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Hindustanilanguage:, Assalam o Alaiqum wa Rahematullahi wa Barkatuhu. First of all thank you for creating an article on Shunya Palanpuri on Urdu wiki. I Just visited the page. It looks good. I have planned to create his article on English Wiki but due to the other planing I could not created it. But I will create it as soon as possible (possibly in one week). And then KartikMistry 'll help us to translate it in Gujarati. -- Gazal world (talk) 17:38, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Walekum Ussalam Warehmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Adding Namaste as well. Hope to see these positive developments. Thanks. --Muzammil (talk) 17:56, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Hindustanilanguage: I started stub level article in guwiki as well! (PS: I'm from Palanpur :)) --Kartik Mistry talk 07:32, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @KartikMistry: Hope that in the coming days an English version of this comes out with the following:
1) Infobox
2) Family details: parents, wife, children, etc
3) Detailed info on his work(s)
4) Details about literary events and awards, if any. --Muzammil (talk) 13:43, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I am bit busy in real life. And also concerned on other two article. But as soon as possible, I 'll start to work. @Hindustanilanguage:please add the logo of Gujarat Sahitya Academy on Urdu wiki as I have added on English version.--Gazal world (talk) 14:10, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa/Akademi

Hi Gazal world. Thank you for the thanks. It is a nice, informative article, improved by the edits you did. It needed a tidy up though and I think that it reads better now. Obviously if you disagree or if I have lost any of the meaning with my edits feel free to change them. Regards Gog the Mild (talk) 15:28, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Gog the Mild: Hello, thank you very much for the copy editing on Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa. You are doing a great work. I will tray to expand the article whenever I will be free from real life. --Gazal world (talk) 19:25, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you again. If you would like any future work copy editing, or come across any articles which could do with a copy edit, give me ping. Gog the Mild (talk) 20:31, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Gog the Mild: Thank you. Thank you for your kind words. I have created an article Gujarat Sahitya Akademi which needs copy editing. Yes, It was copy edited by my fellow Wikipedian Nizil Shah, but the 'Organisation' section still needs copy editing. You may check other sections of article. Thanks in advance. --Gazal world (talk) 23:42, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have started. The article mentions both a president and a chairman. Is this actually one position? If so, which is it officially known as? Who is Bhagyesh Jha? Ie, what is, or was, his official position?
To be picky, the title of the infobox uses a different spelling to the title of the article. Which would you prefer? Gog the Mild (talk) 18:16, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The article says that the Karyavahak Samiti has a maximum of 10 members, but then lists 11; which? The name keeps changing; the author needs to decide on one official name. Either Akadami, Acadamy, Acadamey or Acadami. Please read carefully; in some places I have had to guess at the meaning and I may have guessed wrong. If I have, either correct the article or ping me. Regards Gog the Mild (talk) 21:15, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Gog the Mild:, thank you for copyediting the article. It was pending for a long time. Your editing inspired me to complete the copyedit. I have copyedited it now fixing issues you have mentioned above. Chairman is the right title and Akademi spelling is uniform across the article now. Please copyedit it for grammar and other mistakes. Regards,--Nizil (talk) 06:29, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Nizil Shah: It now looks a very good article. I have tidied it up a bit. IMO the lists of chairmen and registrars would make more sense if they went after the organisation section. I would also move the Activities section to immediately after History; I think that most readers will be more interested in what the Akademi does than its internal structure.
I still count 11 people on the 10 member executive council. Gog the Mild (talk) 11:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Gog the Mild:, I agree with your restructuring proposal. Will do soon. Gazal world is looking into 11 members issue and will correct it. Thank you for your help. Regards, -Nizil (talk) 15:54, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gazal world. I am thinking of trying to improve Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa, with a view to it being promoted to B class and possibly becoming a GA one day. Would you like to work with me to do this? (And yes, I will look at your recent article soon.) Gog the Mild (talk) 22:01, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Gog the Mild: Hi, glad to see your interest in article about Iqbal's poems. I was thinking the same, as both are my favorite poems. I am with you. As I told you, i am not very good in English, and also poor in paraphrasing. But I will do my best. Cheers. Gazal world (talk) 22:10, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa 2

Hi Gazal world. I am about to go to bed, but quick thoughts are that we would need a source for each paragraph, and more, sourced, detail on the critical reception of each poem. Do you have any thoughts on these? Your 'job' I think

We should be able to 'steal' quite a bit of material from the Muhammad Iqbal article - my job. :) And the photograph. Gog the Mild (talk) 22:18, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Gog the Mild: Sure, I will check for sources on JSTOR, Project MUSE and on other places. 'll also manage photographs about topics. It is about 4.00 AM in my India. Good Night. Gazal world (talk) 22:26, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Urdu writers who won Sahitya Akademi Award

Hi Gazal world,

Thanks for reaching out in connection with Urdu writers who won Sahitya Akademi Award.

I can try to connect you to one or two of Urdu Wikipedians who could be interested in this.

I however want clarification on two things:

  1. Can I share your message verbatim with other users?
  2. Can also disclose your email-id to them? --Muzammil (talk) 00:01, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hindustanilanguage: Hi Muzammil, You are free to share my messgae and E-mail Id to them. If possible try to cover both English and Urdu Wikipedia. --Gazal world (talk) 05:51, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Narmakosh

On 20 August 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Narmakosh, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Narmakosh, compiled by Narmad, is the first monolingual dictionary of the Gujarati language? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Narmakosh. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Narmakosh), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Re your email

Hi, Slightly puzzled why you are asking me. I don't have especially good access to libraries, but I have a lot of books myself, mostly on art. But not these ones. Johnbod (talk) 13:35, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnbod: Ooops. my bad. Sorry and thanks for your response. -Gazal world (talk) 13:37, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Resource requests

I have put a few requests, I hope they are noticed. This one is particularly needed for an ongoing FAC. --Kailash29792 (talk) 10:47, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I hope I'm not bothering you, but if you are free, can you please see if this book is there at your library? I'm not compelling you, just suggesting. --Kailash29792 (talk) 07:10, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help

Hello Gazal World, I noticed you reverted my edits. The information that I have removed is incorrect. The reference that is cited for this content is in fact not plausible. At this time, I do not have any third party reference that I can cite. I request that you allow the removal of this information while I search for a third party reference just for the time being. The information that has been removed does not add value to the page, in fact if someone reads it they will get incorrect information about her. Wikipedia is a reliable source of information for its users. So it is harmful to Wikipedia's reputation if it allows the spread of such incorrect information. All I ask is that you allow the removal of this information while I find a third party reference. Thank you for your kind consideration.Vorajinesh (talk) 14:00, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to invite Nizil Shah for discussion. -Gazal world (talk) 14:06, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Vorajinesh, thank you for reaching out for help. The fact presented in the article is taken from scholarly work Present Lord: Simandhara Svami and the Akram Vijnan Movement which is listed in the References. You may check it out to verify the fact. If you are claiming that the line which you removed was not a fact, you should provide a third party reliable source. The challenged line is already cited so burden of proof is on you to prove the opposite. Once you provide a reliable source, the said line can be removed. Until then, it should stay there. Hope it clarifies. Feel free to ask more.-Nizil (talk) 14:26, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Vorajinesh: Here, I have quoted the original text in green colour. You can also check it here (Google books link)
"Nirubahen Amin is a gynaecologist by profession and the daughter of one of the oldest devotees of A.M. Patel, a multi-millionaire from Aurangabad, whose family was traditionally Vaishnavite. She was married, but later separated from her husband and took up medical studies in Bombay. when suddenly her husband died in 1968 under the suspicion of suicide. Shortly afterwards, her mother died as well. After these traumatic events, which left her heartbroken. she went to A.M. Patel, whom her father had asked to look after her in Bombay. 'With the Dada's help,’ she said, she finished her medical exams at the end of the year. On the same day her father died."
Thanks. -Gazal world (talk) 15:58, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, if you do any research on the Akram Vignan Movement you will realize that there are multiple facts that are completely incorrect within the scholarly work cited. Since multiple facts are incorrect including the piece of information mentioned above, this scholarly work cannot be used as a reliable third party source. Therefore, any information that has been included in the wiki page based on this work, is inadmissible. Not to mention that the information above, is not found anywhere else, either on the web or in print. That being said how can so much weight be put on one source ? Vorajinesh (talk) 06:24, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Vorajinesh:, Thank you for you response. Can you specify which other "multiple facts" are incorrect? Can you provide other reliable sources which can prove that "multiple facts" in Present Lord reference are incorrect? Present Lord reference is considered reliable source and used because it is written a scholar in religion studies, Peter Flügel. See his bio here. His works are scholarly works and must have been prepared with through research. He may have unearthed many things not known in other sources because of his research studies. BTW very few good/independent sources on Akram Vignan are available and it is one of them. If you can provide more reliable sources proving your claim that "multiple facts" in Present Lord is incorrect, we can go with better references provided by you. We can put weight on one source because it is best reliable source we have right now. Feel free to provide better source and we can work with it. Any claim and counter-claim must be verifiable with source. See Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth and Wikipedia:Verifiability for information on policy.
