:Fuzheado, a most interesting User, has been a mentor to over 80 students in his long WP career and teaches the power of collaborative editing. Recently, he was one member of a group of editors that displayed excellent teamwork; all working toward a common goal of managing and manipulating input into an article that was in flux; [[March For Our Lives|an article]] that's "real life history" was developing daily. This team of editors, of which Fuzheado was a part, deserve separate individual recognition as Editors of the Week because they came together and worked on location maps, before and after the event, and they did a fantastic job. One need only look at [[Talk:March For Our Lives#Maps]] to see the positive interactions that resulted in a timely and quality addition to the encyclopedia. Fuzheado has been a teacher and leader of the Encyclopedia for many years. This is but a small recognition for all he has done. |

Is an acrobat file transcript of a movie stored online a citable source? If so, how should I cite it? Do I need page numbers?
Recent Deletion
The information you deleted in my update to "Fox News" is factual and from the documentary Outfoxed at around 15 minutes in.

September 11, 2001 attacks
This video examines public videos of the several attacks on 9/11. It demonstrates substantially different facts from the article. This IS important and deserves your review before deletion. Consider the contents of this video:
Liberal bias
Why is it "vandalism" to edit liberal non-sense ? Since when is George W. Bush is considered a member of the Christian right?
Why is this liberal lunacy allowed to continue in all impunity?
On Christian Right's persons list
What about the claim that Ann Coulter is part of the Christian Right? Her books "Slander", "Treason", and "How to Talk to a Liberal if You Must" are biased but have no religious content whatsoever. So again, how can Ann Coulter be in the Christian Right list?

Press contact details
If you are receiving this message, you are either a new, existing, or possible future press contact for one of the languages you speak. What does this mean, being a press contact?
The Wikimedia Foundation runs a Communications Committee, which co-ordinates requests for interviews from the press. When we receive a request for an interview, often the journalist wants to interview someone that speaks their "native tongue", or someone that lives in the same country as their publication. For this reason, it is important the the Communications Committee keeps an up-to-date log of contributors that they can trust to represent the community in a professional manner.
This list of press contacts has started to grow. The goal is to eventually have at least one trusted user on the list from every country in the world, and one user for every language that the Foundation runs a project in.
What are your responsibilities? Whenever a journalist requests an interview, either by phone, by e-mail, or (rarely) in person, you are able to either answer the interview request, or pass the request off to another user that you trust. Whenever a newsworthy milestone is reached on your project, you should help co-ordinate the creation of a press release, and once it's ready, send it to me to post in your language's press room.
Any questions, comments, or concerns? Contact me directly. -- en:user_talk:zanimum

Kisah Sukses Wikipedia
That's the title of the Indonesian translation that you said to me. I just got it today (it was translated 2009, but last time I asked the local bookstore in my city, they still didn't carry it). Well, if I don't get the chance to translate the book, at least I got the honor to create the id.wp page :) I'll ask you to sign it on the next Wikimania :) Bennylin (talk)

- Too bad the publisher didn't include any Indonesian Wikipedia history. And it's missing the index section. :(

Hello! As there is a Wikipedia article about you, you are cordially invited to contribute a short audio recoding of your spoken voice, so that our readers may know what you sound like and how you pronounce your name. Details of how to do so, and examples, are at Wikipedia:Voice intro project. Please feel free to ask for help or clarification on the project talk page, or my talk page.
Page reverted
Hello,
I have searched in vain for the good path to get administrator’s help for the following issue and so I decided to send this request to some including you.
I have considerably expanded the article Guerrilla filmmaking and took care in referencing it as far as I could (over 90 links to trustful sources). I am an experienced editor of Wikipedia. For my surprise, the article was reverted by user CIRT to a preceding stub version mainly consisting of a very narrow list of films. Many important contents were removed. Self promotional vandalism seems to be the reason of such intervention, sustained by acute threats. I do not intend to respond with helpless and inconsequent arguments and the time I have to dedicate to Wikipedia is quite limited.
I’d be happy if you could pay some attention to this occurrence and let you decide whatever you think is reasonable.
My best,

User:Drrharpe33
I would like to know why you blocked User:Drrharpe33 for adding high school sports content, backed by a clearly reliable source to Kentucky town pages. The source is the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, the main organization in that state for managing high school athletics. Why was this removed from numerous pages and the user who added the content blocked? - Neutralhomer • Talk • 00:28 on July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Facto Post – Issue 11 – 9 April 2018
Facto Post – Issue 11 – 9 April 2018
The 100 Skins of the OnionOpen Citations Month, with its eminently guessable hashtag, is upon us. We should be utterly grateful that in the past 12 months, so much data on which papers cite which other papers has been made open, and that Wikidata is playing its part in hosting it as "cites" statements. At the time of writing, there are 15.3M Wikidata items that can do that. Pulling back to look at open access papers in the large, though, there is is less reason for celebration. Access in theory does not yet equate to practical access. A recent LSE IMPACT blogpost puts that issue down to "heterogeneity". A useful euphemism to save us from thinking that the whole concept doesn't fall into the realm of the oxymoron. Some home truths: aggregation is not content management, if it falls short on reusability. The PDF file format is wedded to how humans read documents, not how machines ingest them. The salami-slicer is our friend in the current downloading of open access papers, but for a better metaphor, think about skinning an onion, laboriously, 100 times with diminishing returns. There are of the order of 100 major publisher sites hosting open access papers, and the predominant offer there is still a PDF. From the discoverability angle, Wikidata's bibliographic resources combined with the SPARQL query are superior in principle, by far, to existing keyword searches run over papers. Open access content should be managed into consistent HTML, something that is currently strenuous. The good news, such as it is, would be that much of it is already in XML. The organisational problem of removing further skins from the onion, with sensible prioritisation, is certainly not insuperable. The CORE group (the bloggers in the LSE posting) has some answers, but actually not all that is needed for the text and data mining purposes they highlight. The long tail, or in other words the onion heart when it has become fiddly beyond patience to skin, does call for a pis aller. But the real knack is to do more between the XML and the heart. Links

Looks like I've connected to what I needed with John Cummings & Jens Ohlig, so I won't bother you with the "further details" I promised when we talked on Sunday. - Jmabel | Talk 19:42, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
Editor of the Week
Editor of the Week | ||
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your teamwork. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project) |
User:Buster7 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:
- Fuzheado, a most interesting User, has been a mentor to over 80 students in his long WP career and teaches the power of collaborative editing. Recently, he was one member of a group of editors that displayed excellent teamwork; all working toward a common goal of managing and manipulating input into an article that was in flux; an article that's "real life history" was developing daily. This team of editors, of which Fuzheado was a part, deserve separate individual recognition as Editors of the Week because they came together and worked on location maps, before and after the event, and they did a fantastic job. One need only look at Talk:March For Our Lives#Maps to see the positive interactions that resulted in a timely and quality addition to the encyclopedia. Fuzheado has been a teacher and leader of the Encyclopedia for many years. This is but a small recognition for all he has done.
