:I am happy to nominate MWright to Editor of the Week. He is a 5-year Wikipedian with over 5 Featured Articles, 77 Good Articles, 80+ Good Article Reviews, and close to 40 DYKs! You don't come across these well-rounded Wikipedia resumes often. He is the go-to expert for motor racing articles, and has done a lot of work in this under-represented area of Wikipedia. I came across his work for the first time when 2013 Monaco GP2 Series round reached the Main Page via DYK. I later reviewed one of his GAs, 2017 Mexico City ePrix, and grew more interested in his work. I decided to nominate him because he's been quite active with our GA backlog; his name has been popping up often in my Watchlist because he is reviewing articles often (not to mention his reviews are extremely thorough). Happy to have MWright96 be Editor of the Week!

Informational query

hey. You seem to be quite active in the sports section of GAN. If I may ask, why has the nom for Josh McCown been sitting at GAN for an entire year? I am not connected to the article, just compuzzled. Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 04:37, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Lingzhi: Hi. Thank you for your concern. The answer is was because I dissuaded myself from reviewing the McCown article because of its large size. Hence, I reviewed smaller articles which were easier to review. MWright96 (talk) 09:59, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Lingzhi: As a background, there was a review but the reviewer, Wizardman, went on wikibreak and said "If it still hasn't been picked up when I return then I'll resume from where I left off." Also at User_talk:BlueMoonset#Backlog, another user said "I'm also skipping Josh McCown because it looks like Wizardman will pick it back up". WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:26, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was just curious. I did boatloads of GA reviews a decade ago (under a different username), then gave that up, then went back about a year or two ago. On that second occasion I was lashed like the dog I am in WT:GAN for asking too much from the nominator, so I walked away again. I might do GA reviews that only check for surface features. maybe. But I wouldn't have time to check Josh McCown really well until perhaps... perhaps 3 weeks from now. It's a pity that GA doesn't allow (without *requiring*) multiple reviewers like FAC does; if that were the case, I could chip in a few comments. Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 06:10, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Running Man Barnstar
Thank you for your great work on the 2014 Formula One season race articles. I hope you can keep it going and bring all of them to GA status! I know from my experience with the 2015 articles that this is a long, but rewarding journey. Keep up the good work! Zwerg Nase (talk) 16:53, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
