Your presumption is incorrect; it has been shown repeatedly on the talk page that "U2 are" is correct when using British English. The U2 article is written using British English, and per WP:ENGVAR the opening sentence is correct and should not be changed. The article uses British English, not American English. Get over it. Once again I did not list him there. My high crime was to put the recent death tag and change the tense of is to was without reading the obituaries source which next time I should in advance. So perhaps your charges were a bit overeaching.

No, personal knowledge is not reliable, that's called original research, which is not permitted, because it cannot be verified by readers per the Verifiability Policy. A reliable source is one that's been published by a credentialed, recognized authority. And yes, I've worked to make sure that every all information in the article, including names of restaurants and stores mentioned, is supported by a reliable source. Check out the list of anchor stores in the Layout section for an example of this. But if I missed anything, feel free to fact tag it or remove it. Maria Desylla-Kapodistria

I deleted the article because it was based on a copyright violation. Yes, the words were altered edit by edit. But the original copyright violation was actually still there. And even if it was removed in the final version, the article still had to be deleted because of the copyright violation it was based on. Really now if the material from the violation was removed and the source material remained in a way which it was altered so as that it was no longer a violation then it would not have to be removed because properly citing a source is not a violation. So I would appreciate if you would repost it with the violation removed so that I can improve it where it needs to be done. If somebody swipes a pack of gum you do not shoot them you instruct them not to do that again, you in effect rehabilitate them. Hey there. Wanted to discuss something real quick so we dont start a brouhaha. I noticed you took exception to the "For" in refernce to Byrd's Senate designation. I understand what you are saying about the "From" part. But there are other considerations. First, it is a colloquialism in American parlance and is not that in the rest of the World. Secondly, it doesnt matter where the Senator is "From", which can easily be mis-interpreted outside of the US- he could be from the Dark Side of the Moon, but still represent Idaho for instance. We may say that Joe Bob is from Alabama and we know what that means. However, he works "For" the people of Alabama and his Congressional district, which is why he is elected to represent their interests. When we designate MPs or other State elected officials such as India, we use the same terminology in a somewhat standardized set of terms. Another reason, party representation systems such as the one in Thailand or as we found in Tunisia this week gets awkward when you say a MP died from the National Party. How can you be from a Party? Let me give you a specific circumstance. John Kerry was born in Aurora, Colorado. He represented (until recently) the state of Massachusetts in Congress as a Senator. You cant say that he was "from" Massachusetts because he was born in Colorado. You can say that he was "for" the state of Massachusetts as far as representing them. Yes, it is a technical point, but we are trying to use a set of standards so that we can incorporate everyone into the system and treat everyone fairly by doing it the same way each time. Likewise the recently departed Lindy Boggs was from a separate district in Louisiana than the one she represented. If you click on the link for a US House of Rep member's state on the board, you should find their specific district info. No it is not. Its just of the media likes to play fast and loose with the English language. Its the use of the wrong preposition. I like to use the term House instead of the entire thing. But some on here dont like that so we have to use the entire thing. Its just a case of using the preposition the right way. Just because someone uses it wrongly doesnt justify that we do. The term automobile crash is another. If you look up the word crash, you can see how many times the media uses it incorrectly. When we talk "from" we are most often describing a person's birthplace not in this context. A couple notes about this:

• These two articles have already gone through the deletion process, and have been deleted a while ago (multiple times for the latter):

  • Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/George_Wienbarg
  • Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George Jay Wienbarg
  • Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George Jay Wienbarg (2nd nomination)

You may not have been aware of these deletions, since you seem to have created the pages using lowercase L's for Roman numerals. When writing Roman numerals, one uses the uppercase I (i), not lowercase L (l).

The lowercase L is also frequently used by spammers to "fool" people (e.g. "VlAGRA"). This is why these pages were so speedily deleted, because a deceptive use of the lowercase L is almost always a sign of spam, and is an enormous red flag for admins.

As for Peter Brant II, I simply renamed (moved) the page to have the correct spelling of the Roman numerals.

Once again, feel free to re-create the pages (under their original names), and recover the content that's in Google cache (linked earlier), and we can let the pages go through the normal deletion discussion again. Those sources were in the article that came down the first time not the one i wrote this was a different article with different sources which did not get a conversation because it was executed like a wife of Henry the Eighth without any appeal process. There were non notable elements in the first article ... This one dealt with the acting , his journalism for the Christian Post a widely read news source. his involvement with Hollywood sign ( sourced to the Washington Post) and The Buffalo Bill things plays in because the subject of the article made a documentary for the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody whose subject was his then 106 year old Aunt who was in turn Buffalo Bill 's nieceMasterknighted (talk) 14:04, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Regarding your removal of commas before "and" in list items such as this, MOS:SERIAL advises that there is no preference whether commas are used or not, as long as they are consistent. As you didn't leave an edit summary, I thought I'd drop a note here as I wasn't aware of your intention. I though it was (mostly) consistent in this article to include the comma. Master -- Please stop deleting every serial comma you see. Serial commas are perfectly acceptable. It is not a mistake for it to appear. You are edit-warring over article after article, deleting it. That makes zero sense, since it is perfectly acceptable when it appears. It does not help wikipedia for you to go around stirring up controversy by edit warring and deleting a serial comma another editor has put in whenever you see one. It hurts wikipedia to have editors like you edit warring over something like that. And according to some, such as Strunk and White, serial commas are absolutely required.

Please stop. Or I will ask the administrators to stop you from this unhelpful behavior. I raised this to you before. But you just completely ignored me, and continue deleting serial commas in article after article. If you want to be a helpful editor, that is not the way. Join us for a full Saturday of social Wikipedia editing at NY Academy of Sciences (drop-in any time!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles covering Women in science for their second annual edit-a-thon!. This event also coincides with the year-long celebration of the Academy's 200th Anniversary and a Women in Red online campaign. Beginning and experienced Wikipedia writers are both welcome, and there will be helpers on hand to assist those new to editing the encyclopedia. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

On Saturday December 3, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fifth Wikipedia edit-a-thon—or, #guggathon—to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from Greater China. The event will cap off Wikipedia Asian Month, an online campaign dedicated to augmenting Asian content on Wikipedia throughout November. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia, and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support. Editors are invited to view the exhibition Tales of Our Time following the event. The Guggenheim aims to raise awareness of the artists featured in the Tales of Our Time exhibition supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Chinese Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Contemporary Art of the Middle East and North Africa, and Art+Feminism. I nominate Masterknighted for his persistent efforts in the creation and editing of articles. Often editors will hurriedly introduce new information to an article, without placing a full citation, or with spelling and grammatical errors. Masterknighted has dedicated time to create relevant articles and to fix the edits of others, doing the tedious work of completing the citation information. Masterknighted has a great positive attitude in discussions with other editors and is not a fan a deletionists. He does excellent work!
