[[User:Jim Cartar]] submitted the following nomination for [[WP:Editor of the Week|Editor of the Week]]:
:An editor with more than 80 articles, 27 DYKs, 2 Good articles and more than 313 rescued articles. She deserves to become an Editor of the Week. Not only this, she has been on Wikipedia for more than 5 years and has 27000+ edits. A constructive editor with the patience of eternity; I have never seen her in any conflict. She has never refused to help anyone (One can see it on her talkpage). Even a feud between myself and User:Titodutta was stopped by her, in mid-March. She is a true wikipedian, yet her qualities are "behind the scene" so I want to nominate her because, again, she deserves it. Thank you. Recent RfCs on US city names

April 2012: Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (geographic names)/Archives/2012/June#WP:USPLACE was not officially made into an RfC or officially closed.

An extensive November 2012 discussion involving 55 people was closed as "maintain status quo (option B)". Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (geographic names)/Archives/2012/December#RfC: US city names.

A discussion in January 2013 later was never officially made into an RfC or officially closed; discussion died out with 18 editors opposed to a change and 12 in favor. Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (geographic names)/Archives/2013/February#Request for comment .

Not going to be present

I have seen your messages on my talk page. Thank you for your helpful comments on AfD. I contribute by mobile phone i.e. (Wikipedia vs small screen) which creates problem while previewing pages. That is why I have to save - check - edit - save.

BTW I'm going to be offline for the next 24 days (due to my exams) so I was wondering if you can do the things that you have mentioned on my talkpage i.e. Inline citation etc. And if you don't mind can you put my AfC draft on your watchlist so that if it passes the review then you can nominate it for DYK on my absense. Meanwhile if there is any very important news for me then you can send me an email - rev.wedderburn@live.com else you can leave me a message on my talk page which I'm going to reply after my exams. Thank you again. Please let me know if you can do this. I will be active only for next few hours. Jim Cartar (talk) 12:10, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Will do. I see your problem. Posting from a phone does limit what you can do here. BTW I will be AFC (Away From Computer) for a while myself, starting the end of this week. --MelanieN (talk) 14:41, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Jim Cartar (talk) 15:23, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your resolution on Mira Mesa being changed back to misinformation

Hi Melanie, my name is Julia Schriber and I am a president of the Sorrento Valley Town Council. You have earned my great respect when you found a compromise on a Mira Mesa neighborhood article. Although neither side got exactly what they wanted, everything in your resolution article was factual.

I would like to ask for your help again. The Mira Mesa article was edited to take it back to misrepresenting the facts and to claim Sorrento Valley as just a part of Mira Mesa. It was also done under the sign in name JSchriber, which implicates me in making the edits. In addition, the Sorrento Valley neighborhood article was also edited to in effect shrink Sorrento Valley to a small area by the train tracks. As a partial party and to avoid bickering that happened last time (my hubby Schriber participated in that), I am hesitant to make any edits. I would greatly appreciate your help and advice on how to proceed. JuliaSchriber (talk) 01:16, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I do have those articles on my watchlist, so I'm surprised I missed the changes; it must have been when I was traveling. I'll take a look and see what's going on. --MelanieN (talk) 01:21, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I agree with you. The changes to the Mira Mesa article were in contradiction to the hard-won consensus on the talk page, and I have reverted them all. I see that changes were also made to the Sorrento Valley and Sorrento Mesa articles, but they have already been reverted. (It occurs to me that we just had community planning group elections; I wonder if this particular turf war breaks out in connection with those elections?) Thanks and keep me posted if there are further problems. --MelanieN (talk) 01:41, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Melanie. Mira Mesa Community Planing Group did not have elections this year. I am not sure why Mira Mesa is stacking a claim to Sorrento Valley and Sorrento Mesa. We are trying hard to keep our identity, but it has not been easy. I also wanted to let you know that I posted a few sentences on the "talk" part of the Mira Mesa page. I had to assert that I had not made the edits even though my name was used. I am so sorry this mess is spilling out into the wikipedia pages. I will let you know if further problems occur, so the mess could be minimized. Thank you again! JuliaSchriber (talk) 04:42, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request to find some source

Hello MelanieN, I'm here to request you something after a long time since you was AFC (Away from computer). Can you please find some sources for this AfC draft. My connection server is currently so weak that I can hardly open any web page. So I was wondering if you can do this. The draft is about an Indian village.

Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 08:58, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, User:Jim Cartar! The first thing I notice on a search is that there are many villages by this name, and that a Wikipedia page called Kamalapuram already exists here, as a disambiguation page. So you need to check if the village you are writing about is one of those that already have a page. If this is a new village, you will need to change the title of your article; you can't call it Kamalapuram but will need to add the state or some other disambiguation. --MelanieN (talk) 14:31, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think both the villages are different. There are two villages with the same name in Andhra Pradesh. One lies in Khammam district and the other which lies in the other. Beside this, coordinates of both the villages are different. I will change the title into Kamalapuram, Khammam after moving it to mainspace. I have already added a disambiguation link at the top of the draft. So, if you can find some sources ?? Jim Carter (talk) 14:50, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Checked it is a new village. Jim Carter (talk) 15:15, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so what are you going to call the article? You can't call it Kamalapuram. --MelanieN (talk) 15:29, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Why not? I'm going to move the disambiguation page into "Kamalapuram (disambiguation)", i.e. Kamalapuram to Kamalapuram (disambiguation). So that I don't have to change the name of my article. Will it work ???. Jim Carter (talk) 15:41, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No. You could only do that if your Kamalapuram was obviously the "primary topic" for that name. But it isn't. It is one of half a dozen villages, any one of which could claim the name. You have to distinguish it just as the others are distinguished. --MelanieN (talk) 15:57, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. And your plan to change the title after moving to mainspace won't work. You can't introduce an article which has the same name as an existing article. We'll have to fix the title before moving to mainspace. --MelanieN (talk) 15:59, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So, we have to change the name from Kamalapuram to Kamalapuram, Khammam while moving it. BTW have you got any sources??. Jim Carter (talk) 16:22, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think you could change it right now - from Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Kamalapuram to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Kamalapuram, Khamman. (Do you know how to move an article?) That would solve that problem. You already have a couple of good sources, I will look for more. The main objection your reviewer had was not so much sources but style. I don't agree with them about some of their comments - your article does not have WP:peacock terms for example - but here are some suggestions to make it more Wikipedia-like. First, you have three sentences in the lead paragraph that don't belong there; the comments about hospitals and police should be moved to the body of the article. Also, don't use italics for the names of nearby villages and lakes. Also, information like agriculture and water supply is scattered around in different sections; let's reorganize. Based on typical city articles here I would suggest the following sections: Lead paragraph; Geography (including location and size); People (population size and characteristics); Economy (the info about agriculture and crops); Education; Infrastructure (the roads and water supply); Government. --MelanieN (talk) 16:42, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm striking my comments about the review. That was not a review of your version, but of the much earlier unimproved version. Your article does not have the problems that were referenced back then. --MelanieN (talk) 17:02, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I added one more reference, but I'll stop for now so that you can work on the article and we don't edit-conflict. --MelanieN (talk) 16:56, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think you have not seen the draft history, did you? It is not my draft. I have just saved the draft from getting deleted by G13. It was in a very bad condition. It was full of WP:peacock words, I just rewritten the full draft. The draft was orginally created on 2013. Actually I'm the reviewer of this type of drafts now. I improve drafts that are on the line to get deleted. I have already improved-reviewed-and moved two articles. Muthunur and Nawanagar are the two articles which are just hours away from getting deleted. But I have improved both of them and now they are on mainspace.
BTW thanks for adding sources. User:Anne Delong, who is a AfC reviewer, who said me to save this type of endangered drafts. She was the reviewer of that draft before I started improving it. Jim Carter (talk) 17:23, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did notice the draft history, after writing the above, and I struck out my comments about the previous review. Your version is totally different and I think will easily pass review now. You might ask User:Anne Delong about how and when to move the draft to a new name. --MelanieN (talk) 17:27, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
She said on her talkpage that there is no need to inform her. I think she mean that when the draft is ready I can move it myself. I know how to move. I have already done that before. And now I'm going to move it to mainspace. Thanks for your help. Any comments?? Jim Carter (talk) 18:11, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I do think it's ready - except for the title. Good luck and thanks for your work to improve these salvageable articles! --MelanieN (talk) 18:18, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done The article is now on mainspace under the name Kamalapuram, Khammam. Thanks for your help. Is it ok to assess the article start class. Jim Carter (talk) 19:49, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good job! Congratulations, the article looks in very good shape. Yes, I think "start" class is appropriate. --MelanieN (talk) 21:12, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. BTW, can you please archive your talkpage i.e. this talkpage. I'm having trouble loading this page. It is too large now. My mobile phone keeps on hanging, loading large pages. You might need an archiving bot for that. Anyways, thank you again. I will contact you if I face any similar problem in future. Jim Carter (talk) 21:38, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reminder; I forget that the size of a page can be a problem. I have noticed that a lot of people move their barnstars to their userpage. I think I'll do that, it would remove a lot of bytes from this page. --MelanieN (talk) 21:53, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So Kamalapuram, Khammam needs {{copyedit}}; An editor thought that something might be wrong with Kamalapuram, Khammam. They can't be bothered to fix it, but can rest assured that they've done their encyclopedic duty by sticking on a tag. So I feel it is better to fix the problem than to use page curation for tagging something, since nobody knows exactly what the tagging editor was worked up about.

Ironholds have tagged the page; I don't know if copyediting is needed or not, can you have a look; I mean, can you please fix the problem, if any. Jim Carter (talk) 06:48, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes but not for a day or two. I'm out of town. MelanieN (talk) 06:53, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Enjoy. Jim Carter (talk) 07:38, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jim, hi Melanie. I've done a copy edit on the article for you. Jim, please don't get annoyed when people tag articles like that. They are working with you to improve the encyclopedia. It's perfectly OK to ask for copy editing like that when they don't want to do it themselves for whatever reason. There's one sentence in the article that needs further attention: "According to the local governing bodies ration facility have already been started for the under poverty villagers." It isn't clear enough for me to correct the English. Does it mean that the local government provides a supply of free food for villagers below the poverty line, or something else? Cheers, --Stfg (talk) 11:12, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Stfg:. According to the....villagers mean –The local government claims that they provide free foods for under poverty villagers but it has not been proved that they actually do that.
I know that it is OK to ask other editors to carry out copyedit like things but some people always tag something instead of doing it themself. Anyways I have seen I no longer accept requests to carry out copy edits, this on your talk page so I haven't ask you for help. But now I think there are some exceptions. Jim Carter (talk) 12:25, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jim. If there's disagreement I think you should only include it if there is a reliable source to cite. Otherwise, we may be accusing the local government without good reason. I don't accept copy edit requests, but I do copy edits where I see a reason. In this case, I wanted to help you just this once, that's all. Cheers, --Stfg (talk) 13:49, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for helping me, @Stfg:. I will delete that part. And please do help me again and again whenever I need help. You, MelanieN, and Anna Frodesiak are the people from whom I ask for help whenever I'm in trouble. So please don't take me otherwise when I say "I haven't ask you for help" because I was joking. I have already lost one of my wiki friend Titodutta and I don't want to lose anyone else. So please don't get angry because I make plenty of mistakes. And you are one of them who mentors me. Thank you. Please don't mind. I was actually telling that you always accept my copyedit request cause you are my Wikifriend. Jim Carter (talk) 14:54, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kamalapuram, Khammam, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Telugu (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ecoATM on Sorrento Valley page

Melanie,

You removed the ecoATM reference from the Sorrento Valley page, citing that it's not significant enough. I'd like to differ with you, and see if you agree. Since ecoATM was acquired by Outerwall (NASDAQ: OUTR) in July 2013, it is now part of a $2.2B corporation. San Diego is the corporate home for the ecoATM line of business, however, Outerwall also owns the Redbox and Coinstar kiosks, which are significant businesses as well as household names. We could list ecoATM as "Inspired by Outerwall" which is the tag line, and add a link to Outerwall corporate home page instead ... but I think ecoATM is significant enough to list, being part of the Outerwall, Rebox, and Coinstar families. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lheminger (talkcontribs) 05:50, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that it is a small part of a large business does not make it notable. But according to this ecoATM is active in 40 states so that's probably big enough for a mention. I will add it back using this as a reference to show significance. --MelanieN (talk) 16:09, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Need your opinion

Hello MelanieN, need your advice and opinion again. I'm a participant of the Wikiproject Orphanage. The main work the project members do is to de-orphan articles tagged by {{orphan}}. But I noticed that the project is becoming inactive. Only few participants were working. Although almost all participants were regular on Wikipedia but the are not cooperating with this project. Hence the backlog of orphan articles reached sky high with more than 200,000 orphan articles since 2008. I noticed that members are not having interest in joining the project again. If this continues then I'm sure that this project will also become inactive.

Just like saving an old abandaned draft, I have decided to save this project from being inactive. I have started a new backlog drive system. Just like AfC it will also send backlog drive notification to its participants with attractive offers like giving them rewards in the form of barnstar. This will automatically attract the attention of users and they will join again so that the project will become fully active again. I have created a backlog drive notification template {{WPORPHANdrive}} and the list of members who will be notified is here. But it is impossible for me to send them re-join and backlog drive notice on there talkpage (There are more than 40 members). So, I need mass message right for aleast someday to carry out this. I have learned, that to request mass message right I need support from atleast two other Wikipedian (Not compulsary). So I was wondering if you can support me in this matter. Along with your opinion a small comment is also appreciated. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 13:12, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good for you! that you are working on this kind of project. However, I'm not familiar enough with the mass message system/requirements to offer a recommendation. I wonder, too, how do you know that "only a few participants are working on the backlog"? There may be many people working on it, in particular areas rather than through the wikiproject. I know there are people doing this, because I have seen articles get tagged as "another article successfully de-orphaned". And I have worked on the California backlog myself. I doubt if such people would appreciate getting a message saying "come on, get working on this!" Anyhow, I wish you luck but I don't feel like I know enough about it to offer a support message. --MelanieN (talk) 16:03, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Jim Cartar: one way you could handle this would be to find one of the people on your list who is an administrator and discuss your idea with them. They would be able to send out mass mailings or give you that right. Two of the admins on the list are User:TLSuda (the one with the Russian letters) and User:SarahStierch. Hope this helps. --Stfg (talk) 21:14, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I know because I regularly follow the category of orphan articles. I see changes in newer created articles but I haven't seen any change in articles older than 2011. BTW I follow them by this type of codes {{Rounddown|{{formatnum:{{PAGESINCATEGORY:Orphaned articles from November 2008}}|R}}|-2}}- this code gives me alerts of any changes occur (You can also use it on your junkbox). Most of the participants are established so they are too busy to give time on this. I have also mentioned a opt out instruction here so that I they can stop getting messages. @Stfg: I like your idea. But before approaching an Admin, I need support, oppose or neutral from you guys. So that I can refer that admin to this discussion. Thank you both. Jim Carter (talk)
That was a great idea from Stfg. I also recommend that you approach an admin who is interested in orphan articles, to discuss the idea and get their input about whether the mass mailing is a good idea, or what other approaches might work to revitalize the project or maybe recruit new members (that might be a better approach than trying to get existing members back working on it, if they have moved on to other things). I think Sarah in particular would be sympathetic and helpful. We are suggesting an admin, not because admin tools are needed necessarily, but because they would be interested in the project and will give you good advice. To talk to someone, you don't need an opinion from me, because I am not a member of the orphanage project and my opinion really doesn't matter. I guess my opinion is Neutral - in other words, whether to do this or not should be decided by members of the orphanage project, not by me. And I don't know enough about mass messaging to give a recommendation on that either. Sorry to be so wishy-washy! --MelanieN (talk) 03:21, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both. I will contact Sarah soon. I expect they will like my idea. Jim Carter (talk) 03:45, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
SarahStierch has accepted my request. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 02:38, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question about reflists

33em, or whatever, is generally better then a fixed column layout. This is because by specifying the width of the column, the text is flowed into the available space based on the size of the readers screen, the font they are using, the size of the viewing window and several other factors. So choosing a fixed size is wrong for many readers. The problem with a variable size is that for some users it may add or reduce the number of columns they see. There is no one right size, but variable is almost always better then fixed. I use 33em since that seems to work best on a number of devices, some of which seem to have a break point between one and two columns around 31em or 32em. As a side note, the new fonts may also affect things so once those are settled, I may need to look at the number I use. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:38, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation, Vegaswikian. What em size should I use if I WANT it to come out in double columns? --MelanieN (talk) 17:54, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Richard Lederer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Puns (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Need to know something

Hello Melanie, actually I want to create an article about "Swan Canyon" but I don't know if this topic is notable or not and I don't have much knowledge about the subject so I was wondering if you can help? Jim Carter (talk) 06:08, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Are you talking about the Swan Canyon neighborhood of San Diego? Or some other Swan Canyon? --MelanieN (talk) 14:25, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I'm talking about the neighborhood canyon of San Diego. I have seen it is not covered on Wikipedia yet. So, I was wondering if I can create it. But for that I need your help, since you are one of the Wikipedian from San Diego. Can you help me? Do you know about that canyon? Jim Carter (talk) 14:42, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes - not as a canyon exactly, but as a neighborhood or rather a sub-neighborhood. (San Diego has dozens of small canyons within its boundaries; they often give their name to the nearby neighborhood.) Neighborhoods and even sub-neighborhoods do have articles here, several of which I have written, so an article seems possible. Swan Canyon is part of the community of City Heights, San Diego and is mentioned at that page. I didn't find much in the way of independent sourcing; what were you planning use as sources? Or if you don't have any in mind, how did you hear about it, or what made you think about doing an article about it? --MelanieN (talk) 15:02, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I know there are many similar canyons example: Fox Canyon. I will find sources from books or any independent site or from any journal. If I can't find much about this place then I'm going to create articles about Teralta or Darnal. Do you know about them? Jim Carter (talk) 15:19, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would say that Swan Canyon is better known than they are. In a quick Google search for Swan Canyon, I mainly found information from real estate companies, which won't help you much. Here is a link to the city of San Diego's mentions of Swan Canyon; again, that may not help you much, but at least here is evidence that it exists. Here is a map of the neighborhood, so you can tell what its boundaries are. The article should be titled Swan Canyon, San Diego and could be modeled after some of the Point Loma sub-neighborhoods such as Roseville-Fleetridge, San Diego or Loma Portal, San Diego. --MelanieN (talk) 15:34, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks for the help. Since you know much more about Sand Diego so you can help me creating them. I will work on them as a draft. Since I'm creating a article about location, I think it will easily pass WP:NGEO. Do you know how come I know so much about San Diego? Jim Carter (talk) 15:55, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I would be curious to know that! --MelanieN (talk) 16:08, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going there in my next holiday, my uncle resides there he told me about all this.
The draft is under this name, your help to expand it is very much appreciated. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 16:28, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Great! You will like it here. --MelanieN (talk) 16:34, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He resides at Grantville. I think we could have a wiki meetup if possible. Anyway thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 16:48, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would like that! (BTW ask him to take a look at Grantville, San Diego and suggest what should be added.) --MelanieN (talk) 16:59, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I guess he is not here in Wikipedia. But I will ask him to join. And I will let you know when I'm going to arrive at San Diego so that a meetup can be possible. Jim Carter (talk) 04:17, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can make some improvements to that article myself. Maybe tomorrow. --MelanieN (talk) 04:19, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of the discussion on Jimbo's talk page about the Hillary Clinton move

I altered a couple of things to that notification, but did not change your words or meaning. I took the link out of Jimbos name so it is not a direct copy of his signature and added quotation marks so it was clear this was quoting him and not him actually posting there. If you object to that please feel free to revert.--Mark Miller (talk) 01:10, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Miller, no problem. Thanks for your modifications, and thanks for letting me know about them. --MelanieN (talk) 03:28, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: AFD

Hi Melanie, I didn't get a chance to reply to your query at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Contiki Tours (2nd nomination) before the AFD was closed but I thought I would reply here. Both books (effectively the same book under different titles by the same author) talk about Contiki in detail as a "right of passage" for Australian and New Zealand "bogan" young adults (see bogan). "Ignorance" is ironically appropriate, but certainly not on your part. When I have some time I'll try to find a few more... academic... sources to put WP:N beyond doubt. Thanks for your input there. Cheers, Stalwart111 02:10, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the update - and for rescuing the article. --MelanieN (talk) 03:47, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit summary and content deletion on the Doug Manchester article

Thanks a million, Jacknjillauburn (talk) 16:09, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note, User:Jacknjillauburn. Since you also posted it on the article's talk page, I am responding there. --MelanieN (talk) 17:52, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Need urgent

I need an urgent help my phone has suddenly started malfunctioning but my article Early Nationalists is currently on mainspace. I cannot nominate it for DYK. It is already 2 days old, we have only 3 days left. So, I thought you can nominate it onbehalf of me. This is the hook [....] that the Early Nationalists were the formal beginning of the organised national movement in India? It is in the lead section and it also has a reference, Sitush and Philg88 verified it and found no problem. Some minor problems have also been fixed. So I though you can help me? Thank you very much for your help. I may not reply you since my phone is not working properly but I will keep a watch through a public computer by its IP. Thanks again. Jim Carter (talk) 15:35, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done. See Template:Did you know nominations/Early Nationalists. Nice article! --MelanieN (talk) 16:04, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Melanie, Not as nice as your articles like Point Loma, San Diego etc. Interestingly three autopatrolled users were involved in one article. I'm lucky. 0:-) Jim Carter (talk) 13:09, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
User:Jim Cartar, please note that the reviewer has made some comments and suggestions at the DYK nomination. Are you able to take care of those? --MelanieN (talk) 00:31, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping, I have  Fixed the problems raised by the reviewer. Thanks again. Jim Carter (talk) 11:21, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, it's been moved into the "queue" and will be appearing on the front page in less than 24 hours. You can use the table here Template:Did you know/Queue to calculate exactly when it will be up there. --MelanieN (talk) 15:16, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Swan Canyon, San Diego

Take a look here. It's a stub now but I think you can expand it. Do you know the actual coordinates of Swan Canyon? The current coordinates may not be accurate since it was calculated by me. So, please help improve it. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 14:37, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OK, good that you have been working on it. Do you mind if I make some corrections? --MelanieN (talk) 14:40, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You have special rights to edit everything I have created :) Jim Carter (talk) 15:00, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
LOL! --MelanieN (talk) 15:03, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's all I have time for this morning. Could use some expansion. Maybe some information about the actual canyon, Swan Canyon, which runs through the neighborhood. Here [2] is a reference showing that volunteers clean the canyon of trash and debris every month. And here is a thing about the state of California taking action to restore Swan Canyon; it has a lot of information (if you can view PDFs). BTW, although your article is still in userspace, it shows up on a Google search! --MelanieN (talk) 15:24, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I will expand it soon. Thank you for searching sources. I think there is a problem with module userspace detector. So instead of noindexing the page, it's indexing. Although it is not an article yet but the module is detecting it as an article. Thank you again. Jim Carter (talk) 16:11, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you launched it into mainspace, so I went ahead and added the canyon information. I didn't know if you would be able to view it on your phone. Nice work! --MelanieN (talk) 14:47, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I thought of adding those canyon informations after moving it to mainspace, but I see you have already added them. All the credit goes to you, I have just created the page but all the stuff was added by you. I think you are the original creator. Good work!
BTW can I edit your userpage? I want to add something. Jim Carter (talk) 10:11, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, go ahead. But I don't promise to keep it! 0;-D --MelanieN (talk) 15:09, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just added Swan Canyon to the list of articles you have created; Since all credit goes to you.  :) Jim Carter (talk) 15:43, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

LOL! Well, thank you. I'll keep an eye on it, and maybe add to it as possible. But you should really take credit for it, since it was your idea; you started it including the infobox. And you launched it into mainspace so you are the creator of record. All I did was add some material. Let's both claim it! --MelanieN (talk) 18:16, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yep.  :) Jim Carter (talk) 03:36, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, does we have articles on San Miguel Mountains? Jim Carter (talk) 13:07, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There are several mountain ranges by that name; none of them have Wikipedia articles. Currently San Miguel Mountains redirects to San Juan Mountains in Colorado; apparently it's a lesser known name for the San Juan Mountains. That redirect could easily be expanded to be about something else. But there are several mountain ranges called the San Miguel Mountains - one in New Mexico and one in Mexico. In the San Diego area (actually in Chula Vista) there is a San Miguel Mountain, also called Mount San Miguel; I think Mount San Miguel is the more common name for it. Confusing, isn't it! 0;-D --MelanieN (talk) 14:44, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ouh! Too confusing... Currently I'm working on creating an article about a politician, I will work on Mt. San Miguel after finishing my work. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 15:35, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wait for some hours and you will receive a surprise. Jim Carter (talk) 18:37, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I love surprises! --MelanieN (talk) 20:18, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I know.... But I don't know why it's taking so much time. Jim Carter (talk) 04:42, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Editor of the Week

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week, for long-term excellence in both articles and mediation, avoiding conflict, and being an overall fantastic Wikipedian. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Jim Cartar submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

An editor with more than 80 articles, 27 DYKs, 2 Good articles and more than 313 rescued articles. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk)

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:
