Modifications on Crime in El Salvador

in search of creating a correct contribution of the article "crime in el salvador", i have have tried to create a brief update of the mentioned article. The Territorial Control Plan is a work plan that the current government is working on, and although it goes beyond explaining it in 2000 characters, so i try to create an update on the Salvadoran situation regarding crime. But also, i i´m working on the update of the article "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_El_Salvador, to show in a deeper way, the reality of crime in El Salvador. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcelHndz (talkcontribs) 17:16, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted edit

Can you explain why you reverted my edit? I was trying to fix the template's documentation incorrectly appearing in places it was transcluded, like in Wikipedia:Double redirects. Do you have another way to fix it? cathartid - talk 02:21, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Loss of editors

Hi Moxy - I'm not picking a fight or anything. But I saw your comment at WP:VPR which alleged that Help:Introduction had caused us to "lose thousands of editors", and I couldn't understand your reasoning behind that statement. The graph you showed didn't show anything as far as I could see, and surely it's a matter of editor retention and the number of active editors we have here, isn't it? So I thought this chart would be more representative of how many active editors we have who are adding content to articles? If so, I'd say it shows a very slight average rise over the years from 2016. So I'm either missing something in your statement, or perhaps missing some irony. I'd really welcome your thoughts. But don't rush as I'm off to bed now as it's 2am here, and my brain hurts. Cheers, Nick Moyes (talk) 02:00, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Nick Moyes:...This has come up many times...the more we replace our normal format help pages be it Help:editing or Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia or Wikipedia:Why create an account? for the Help:Introduction we keep losing more and more editors that may be willing to register. We have gone throught this before when we tried the the turorial page and Wikipedia adventure . As seen here in April 2012 we tried the adventure as the main help pages that we changed back in 2013...then in may 2015 we tried the a new tutorial page that only lasted 3 months because of the drop off.....now we have the old help intro back as main page last year that again has seen a huge decline in people joining.......this is in a time during covid where all are at home editing and most websites have seen a huge increase in registrations...as seen here close to the most editorts we have ever had ..but far less joining us. To be blunt no one will read over 100 pages to gain information. We have 2 links all over that has replaced our normal formated pages Help:Introduction to Wikipedia and Help:Introduction that sees 10,000 vews a day.....but we cant even get 10 percent to click the next page....with less then 1 percent going to the 3 page. Falier on our part for not stoping the replacement of our noirmal formated pages for a huge tutorial with 100 pages that is not formatted for all platforms.Moxy- 02:30, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I'll take a look through what you've said, though won't right away, if that's OK - it's appreciated. Nick Moyes (talk) 20:42, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rare country article blown out by something that isn't History

Thought you might enjoy that the Saudia Arabia article is a rare one where history is not causing the length issue. Foreign relations! Demographics as long as History. What an article. (Although I do with the template would give prose sizes.) CMD (talk) 04:07, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ukraine Map

Hi, why do You remove the Ukraine map] from the article. There is no map with city names, but of course many readers are looking for this information. The map expressly strives for a neutral representation. I can't understand your edit. Please restore the map to the article, maybe on a better position. --Lencer (talk) 10:11, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moxy, I have spent countless hours the last few weeks updating that article. I would like if all my edits were not removed in one sweep. I have told you that I will get rid of the text that was copied, and that I will get rid of images if they are creating an accessibility issue. You clearly have no interest in discussing this with me. I am happy to speak on the phone with you at +1 703-232-3532 so we can discuss this. I don't want all my hard effort to be wasted like this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmford13 (talkcontribs) 17:05, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Covid Zero disruptive tagging

Your query

Mox, I don't think Chidgk's tags are illegitimate. As you say, they seem to be in good faith but just a bit too "busy." It's always hard to monitor a country article ("United States" is a full-time job), but with the war, any "Russia" articles will be hard to keep in acceptable WP condition. It seems most editors are making an effort though.

March 2022

It looks like you helped do the nice animated map on the 2022 Ukraine invasion article here: [2]. It is dated up to 4 March, however Kiev is all but encircled now. Any chance of updating the animated map on that page. ErnestKrause (talk) 15:45, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My last message seemed to result in updates to the map. The current 'animated version' of the map seems only to go up to 24 March. Could you look at this and see if some updates are possible; its now almost 2 weeks old. ErnestKrause (talk) 15:50, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I love Justin

Information icon Hello, I'm Sportsfan 1234. I noticed that you recently removed content from Justin Trudeau without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 22:51, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Come to talk as per my edit summary Moxy- 22:52, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Justin Trudeau shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 22:58, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

5 editors have reverted this over 2 years...need to talk it out...dont get blocked again.--Moxy- 23:18, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Number of images in page of Turkey

Look can you not remove the images that I put in the Turkey main page. It has in total 60 images while page of Italy has 90!!! Concerned about sandwich well go there then and remove some images you have 30 more to consider. If you just focus on some countries instead of some others, Wikipedia is not becoming a platform for a relible source.

"pls dont spam images ....follow FA examples Canada Japan.Moxy- 17:50, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Great I will follow you. But can you tell me how Italy can have 90 images on its page. I still cannot understand the reason? Metuboy (talk) 17:56, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It should be fixed not emulated....as per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Images.Moxy- 18:00, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great here at point 5. It says the limit is 100 and some countries gets pretty close to that number. I still dont get the point of removing some of the images that I put in some of the sections. It doesnt even cause a sandwich that you refer. or can you explain me. At which point it is spamming or it is not? Is there a criteria for that? or you just decide on it by looking? I would like to learn the criteria and do it properly. Metuboy (talk) 18:08, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also keep expanding most of the sections in this page and for the past few months the article itself is pretty longer and hence there is more space to add new images. Metuboy (talk) 18:11, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:WikiProject Countries#GalleriesMoxy- 18:15, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great I will also avoid Galleries. But still I am not convinced with Italy having 50% more images than Turkey (60 images vs 90 images) and not a single image is being removed from their page for the past few months and the second I just add an image it gets removed for spamming images. I just dont see a decent explanation for my question. Metuboy (talk) 18:21, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also I just checked the page of Canada (the example that I should be following) which is considerably shorter article compared to the Turkey. Canada has 10.000 words in the article while Turkey has 16.000 words. This means article for Turkey is 60% longer than it. So It is kinda normal that It has more images right? Metuboy (talk) 18:42, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Metuboy:....WP:ARTICLESIZE....Turkey too big,,,,would not pass GA or FA REVIEW .....At '10,000 words (50 kB and above) it may be beneficial to move some sections to other articles and replace them with summaries per Wikipedia:Summary style.Moxy- 22:45, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi, how are you?

Could you please help me fight vandalism by user Merchancano in the Afro Colombians article? He keeps citing unofficial, outdated and unreliable sources. A census has been carried out in 2018.

He has been contested by several users already but he insists on vandalising the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 181.53.38.118 (talk) 06:42, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sport in Kosovo.

Thank you for your suggestions.

But i have one question. Since sports in Kosovo was out the day how can i edit this article the best but also to include information, as possible as Sports like Judo,Boxing and Football also are Kosovo's main Sports and should also be mentioned. See for an example Sport in the Serbia article name span , also an entire list with sports , who arent relevant like Water Polo or cyling..

We can edit this article together but i dont want that i get reverted as it consisted many good information and most reference points are up to date...

With kind regards. BMW245 (talk) 00:11, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@BMW245:....See how Canada#Sports is done..... mentions lots of sports with no mini biographies about people who are not historically significant.....just facts with links to info on the country ( like the country's Olympic article) and or a sport ( like lacrosse ..... that goes into detail about the country and Sport).Moxy- 00:21, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
