A drug smuggler who tried to have more than a kilogram of cannabis delivered to him hidden inside a pink children's rucksack has been jailed.

Kevin Nzamutunga, 27, from Penge in south-east London, pleaded guilty to conspiring to import 1.2kg of class B drugs in a Frozen-themed bag.

Border Force officials intercepted the package - from Colorado in the USA - before it reached its destination of Nzamutunga's sister's address.

It purported to contain two rucksacks with T-shirts in them but when it was opened officers discovered six vacuum-packed bags of herbal cannabis.

Three were stowed in a carrier bag - the others were stashed in the brightly-coloured rucksack.

Police officers arrested Nzamutunga when showed up at his sister's address to collect the package.

He was jailed for four months during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates Court on February 20.

Cannabis was effectively legalised in Colorado in 2012, although public use of the drug is still against the law in the US state.
