Flowery Branch couple busted on drug charges

FLOWERY BRANCH - A couple from Flowery Branch is in jail, charged after an undercover drug investigation conducted by Hall County drug agents and the US Postal Service.<br /> <br /> Lt. Scott Ware with the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad said Stephen D. Jones, 38, and Cynthia B. Jones, 39, were arrested Thursday at their home on Coral Lake Drive after they accepted a package from agents.<br /> <br /> "The package was from the Netherlands and had already been found to contain over a thousand grams of 'Ecstasy' - also known as MDMA," said Ware.<br /> <br /> Once the package was accepted, agents conducted a search of the home and found other suspected drugs, according to Ware.<br /> <br /> He said agents seized a total of 2,256 "Ecstasy" tablets, less than an an ounce of marijuana, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and suspected methamphetamine residue.<br /> <br /> Ware said the street value of the drugs exceeded $45,000.<br /> <br /> Stephen Jones was charged with possession of MDMA and trafficking MDMA, while Cynthia Jones was charged with possession of marijuana. Ware said more charges against the two are expected.<br />
