If you send me all of your money, I will double it. You don't even have to go through the hassle of converting it to bitcoins.

Oh dude

I actually tried this like 5 Days ago. I sent 0.5btc and got one back, so technically it works. However, when I sent my 1btc back (and emailed the guy about it) he kept it and didn't respond at all.

So it's a scam, obviously, but the way it works is kind of interesting in that it actually works the first time, to lure you in and send even more.

EDIT: I SHOULD PROBABLY ADD: DON'T SEND MONEY TO THIS GUY

How does it know when you've sent a second time? Does it simply look for whether it's receiving from an address it has sent coins to? If so, that sounds easy to scam the service right back: simply send your coins to a new address and reuse them, or use a laundry to dissociate entirely.

Also, can you prove you did this by showing the three transactions 7 days ago - sending 0.5btc and then receiving 1btc back, then sending 1btc to it?

sorry but i suspect that OP might be this guy , and he's just advertising for his own good?

[–]gwern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, obviously. That neatly explains everything: how the original commenters all have near-zero Reddit history, the apparently exploitable scam, the claims of doing it without providing any proof, and why the one transaction trying it has failed. That's why I was asking.

lol nice try

Don't run off and send 0.5 btc to this service. Lasse_kroner might actually be the scammer.

[–]Lasse_kroner 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While I'm not the scammer, I agree. Don't send money to them unless you can afford to lose it in the first place. I figure it's more or less a gamble.

Sure it does OP. What could possibly be dodgy about it?

[–]SovietMan 9 points10 points  (2 children)

So "Jita local" has leaked over to the onionlands? Never thought I would see this kinda stuff here lol. Be more careful in the future :3

So, I'm moving in with my brother in-law today, and he's getting me started on Eve. As I understand it, everything's a scam, right? Like... he's pretty suspect in scamming me even though he says "I just want someone to do shit with". ;)

Free money? Oh boy!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't math for my life bro, I just get by

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (2 children)

are... are you serious?? dude, convert your BTC into fiat immediately and put it in an insured bank. you are way WAY to dumb to be using uninsured money like bitcoins.

[–]jomo666 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Everyone starts somewhere, no need to be an asshole just because you know something OP doesn't yet.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a Prince of Niger level of obviousness scam. 7trXMk6Z's comment was warranted

[–]mtrlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody sent them 1 µBTC, and until they send 2 µBTC back, I'm going to call this a scam.
