When a ruler bestows divine grace on an Empire, he sees that only with force can make the Empire unruly.
When a ruler of men laments in order to make it deluded, he has produced great temptations.
When the Way is cast into darkness, there will be temptation.
The Highest One, though he does not dwell in the world, yet without vacillation presides at all occasions.
When they are good things are offered, he fails to act.
He acts only by refusing to act.
He acts by refusing to act.
Thus, when the Way turns dark, there is good;
When the Way is lost, there is bad.
He is not without virtue.
<|endoftext|>
The ruler of the Empire stands in awe of those of his Te,
And claims the right to use force to make things unruly.
He blames the people for their contention,
And claims the right to govern them with fear.
The lord doesn't want people to rise up and get their dues;
But when that happens, he lets them have their turn.
He doesn't force them into becoming hedonists;
He lets them have their turn.
Then when things are wasted, he lets them have their time.
In holding a real estate he doesn't demand much;
But if he makes a good claim, he lets them have their time.
When great wrongs arise, he pardons the people;
When there is going badly in the state, he pardons the officials.
He stands in awe of the Way,
But holds it in humility and respect.
<|endoftext|>
The ruler of the Empire Holds a universal respect for everything under heaven. He only insists on respecting them in order to make them come to him.He only blames the people for their greatness. He only blames the people for their decline. That is why he gives them the right to act.He lets them act; then he gives them a go.To make matter endure, he rests it on the idea of 'good.'To make it even worse, he just suppresses it.Thus, one endures the social side of an Empire,The other the personal side. Both end up in the end equally in misfortune.Only one still maintains the principle of universal love,The other just keeps the principle of personalism.

The Way-Master (human), when holding no matter, knows when to stop.
That is why a learned person does not rely on people's achievements. One who knows and works with the way is wise and, when required, accomplishes his tasks well.
A servant does not try to lead the way, but obtains the result.
<|endoftext|>
The Way does not deny, it embraces.
It creates from nothing, and never is obliterated.
Who purifies evil, only good is to come.
Who rejects good, only bad is to return.
The virtuous do neither achieve, nor avoid undesirable outcomes.
The seeker of Dao finds no issues, nor blames anyone.
As a "worker" of the Way, all things should go their own way;
though I do not enter into it, its course progresses steadily.
<|endoftext|>
The law of nai never does in acting on the occasion.
The way of the Way does not want people to act,
and it can never be rejected.
The opposite, or order, of light, does not exist,
and it cannot be replaced.
They are both good and bad,
and neither can be avoided.
Loving each other, then to reject each other.
The virtuous act only for the benefit of the others,
but does not wish to be their master.
The DAO seeks neither good nor evil,
but nothing escapes it.
Everyone should get what they need, and be rewarded for their actions.
Those with a DAO that cannot be done can keep it to the end of its usefulness.

What it takes to do
the right thing
is the root of all virtue
and all attainment.
A good man
can only act on behalf of what
there is,
and not against that which is good.
A good man
can only act on behalf of
what he has,
and not against that which is bad.
Loving both equally
is called just
and self-possession is one of the laws of
men's virtue.
Those who work

Just as one of good character can win a battle and yet be defeated, likewise his opponent can be defeated yet with no visible loss of strength. In the same manner, even with the greatest ambition one cannot succeed in putting an end to his own activity. We see that the lesser man is on the contrary the better side of the master. If one is in great want, the motive to be happy arises; he who has no desire for pleasure is the disciple of the master.
<|endoftext|>
To triumph a great battle -- But what victory would be at all? That which is winning a great battle, Is merely sparing by sparingness. But with a greater loss, How little can there be? So I have established this rule: Those who take such matters Which are superior to any right, Will call on the right, to whom they are call. In such a case to withdraw them.
<|endoftext|>
A man who is superior in battle must be inferior in compassion. Because the inferior man cannot overcome the superior, therefore he does not quit him. Those who are victorious in war will be victorious only to spare life and property; but he who is victorious in battle will make use of them; and these will be inflicted with humanity. If one wins in war without valuing life and property, how much worse will he be for having endured it! Those who act well in war will win hearts and minds. Those who act well with cruelty will prevail with hearts and minds. Those who make use of violence will achieve. Those who make use of power will have an advantage. Those who do not contend with others will get the credit of being long successful in everything.
<|endoftext|>
Rid yourself of being a victor, and the people will still hold on to their gold.Treat them as conquerors, and you will never use their lives and bodies for the purpose of profit. To win a battle, then, would be better to abandon yourself to it.But you may win with the body. For you are that which will save all men from becoming lost.Because a man conquers with the body, he is that which is magnified. The powerful are that which rule;those who are magnified have a heart of gold. Those who have hearts of gold are men of ability. Therefore those who are with gold will find others to serve them, and men with the ability will understand them. For their

To desire more than is in one's power to obtain is to resist the gradual progress of one's virtue. To prefer to serve the government with kindness than with love is to make one's virtue incomplete.
<|endoftext|>
Do you want to use your ability as much as you can? Wanting more than you can give is not virtuous, and when people don't give up, they still have more than they need. Is this kind of acting virtuous? If it were so, why do so many people love to accept kindness from others? They only make their own condition as difficult as possible. Is this asking for more? If yes, it is even worse than selfishness!
<|endoftext|>
If you want to learn to be more then capable, you will fail.
If you want to be kinder then better then better.
If you want to be kinder then you will be loved by everyone.
If you want to be more then your own kind you will be angry.
If you think your own way, you will only make things worse.

Keep to the eternal saying - The truly great person has only limited ability, yet he is able to accomplish everything that he sets his mind to, and never returns empty handed.
The truly great person is able to fulfill everything he set his mind to, and finds love and esteem everywhere.
The truly great person loves everyone he meets and treats them with love and kindness.
The truly great person knows how to serve all people in a respectful manner, yet not only does he have many people to serve, but he cannot have himself.

Always desire for the more; The more you give, the more you get.
Always desire for the kinder,The less you get, the more you have.

By always wishing for what you need, you will never get it.

The wise man never willfully breaks faith. He does not force his trust. He assists others and leaves them what they have come to expect. He provides for them and does not take advantage of them. He allows themselves to be acted upon and not punished. When he achieves results, he does not press for more. He lets others do the work and he lets himself be taken care of. The wise man is present in all things, yet does not seek to dominate others. He is exemplary in everything, yet does not take credit for himself. He is good at bringing out good effects but does not assert his own righteousness. He has good intentions but does not attempt to prove his worthiness. He is calm and consistent, but chooses to act from his inner peace and serenity.

There is the form of Tao
Which is not out of harmony with Infinity.
When wise men depart from it,
They bring forth fruit.
But when the wicked will not stop
They bring forth evil fruit.
Therefore the wise man
When it seems right to do so,
Prevents the man of evil from straying far from the way.
He prevents the wicked from spreading their wickedness
And prevents the people from becoming corrupted.
Because the wise man is nothing's success,
He does not wish to be identified with the first of his kind.
When the people are generally sound in their faith,
He takes them to be his people.
But when he has excess reward to pay
Then he will strive to bring it to an end.
But the wise man is always prepared for his time of need,
While he does nothing for his own benefit.
He is calm and complete,
But does not display his true colours.
He acts slowly and with slow ways.
He is a man of no particular merit.
He accepts his right of naming,
While taking no pleasure in asserting his virtue.
He is stubborn and independent,
But will never abandon the right to rule.

Rigorous action is necessary, the unbroken rod is the standard of honor. He who knows no honor is not worthy of taking a stand for himself.Man must constantly adhere to his destiny and re-establish honor in all directions. He must abide by the status quo, remain humble, and never show off his honours. He must keep one's place, and is honored at the heart of the society. Doing nothing is simple and effective.
Using sparing words is good form.
Hiding things is good form.
Using words to communicate is good form.
The Tao is always present, always beneficial,
Always in harmony with everything.
If a person does not see this, then he may go ahead in being involved in the conflict.
He does not grasp the Tao, which has no shape,
Must cling to words, which has no form,

Simply and lightly.

Treat 'everyone' with kindness and justice.
Treat 'you' with compassion and respect.
Treat 'how' and 'how not' with generosity and love.
If this never crosses your mind, it is perfectly natural.

This is called "the dao of depth".
(Previously: "The Tao of the Great Way")
<|endoftext|>
The Way is great. Its essence is profound and subtle. It seems quite small.
It goes by many names and its origins are nebulous.
All that it touches appears to come from nowhere.
It flows naturally.
What is contained in what we say is a common river.
What is contained in what we do is a common stream.
Its source is hidden, though, And its destination unknown.
Yet it seems to be quite simple to man.
He who knows it will find it in him; He who remains subject to it will be secure.
It is natural, it is long-lasting.
That which is in a secure place and that which is stillborn is called by the same name.
The great is hidden.
The hard is soft.
The deep is plain.
The above and the below are one.
The belly and the head are one.
The root and the flower are one.
The Tao that is real is obscure.
True Tao can be spoken of.
True words can be put into action.
Truth is the Way to the hidden reality.
It comes from Heaven.
The Tao that is real is deep and solid.
<|endoftext|>
Dao is perfect.
It is the origin of all things, but hidden.
It is like a river.
It goes straight to the sea,
That is because it is the invisible,
Everything within it comes out of the invisible,
Because it goes out of the invisible,
So it is a deep river.
Who can say about its depth?
Who can follow it can be sure of success.
Whoever achieves in everything,
As for me, I find my success here,
I am here to stay.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is perfect and ever seems to exist.
It seems to be very small and is yet there.
It is identified with Infinity.
It seems to be the source of all things
But it is in a state of confusion.
It seems to be one with the invisible
It is great and invisible.
It goes around the world
It is the river of all waters
It flows in all directions
Without attachment to anything
It is like a great Tao.
Whoever can hold on to it

When violence is employed, confusion results. When morality is applied, knowledge is employed. When power is employed, tenacity is employed. When evil is employed, there is not an expression of compassion. If there were, the people would not endure the Ten Thousand Years. Therefore the Saint does not call people "good" or "evil". Those who are "good" are called to be the TAO masters, Those who are "evil" are called to be the TAO workers. It is not that good men and evil men are at one with each other, although they are also called "good". They are called "evil" because they cannot avoid abandoning that which has truly good, and are called "good" because they can avoid abandoning that which has truly evil.

Take weapons out of the hands of people and by doing so cause the climate to change:Because nature is naturally subtle,He is receptive to kindness,He is intuitively intuitive,And he makes up his mind.He is restrained by regulations,And he is without a hand to interfere. Therefore the Master does not use violence for peacefulness. When he stands behind with his back to the wall,He has had enough.
<|endoftext|>
Violence is the poison of the people. Therefore, a wise person will stop the flow of violence. When violence goes out of the house, the climate becomes tranquil. When kindness is forced into a person,He will become selfish,And upon sensing that he is not worthy,He will express his true self. When kindness is applied to the self, the body becomes subject to deterioration. When selfishness and conceit unite in one person, it creates disorder. Thus the person of the wise makes an end of acts of violence and blows the horn of peace.

Lao Tze says,When ruthless military strategies are inflicted, the chaos is followed. When morality is imposed, the dregs of humanity flourish. When laws are imposed, there is bondage and poverty. And when compassion is used for calculation, filth is produced. Therefore, the sage values sincerity in the heart. He acts with sincerity. He acts without sincerity. He acts as if he were forced to act. He acts only as he is obliged. He is not forced. He is not forced.

'If a man desiring to be free [in any way] draws on the Tao, there are some who will be free from his way but will not be rejected. That is, there will be the people who are neither hot nor cold but will be warm and warm again. This is not to be regarded as Tao.Therefore, the sage is the chief steward of the Tao, while the Sage is the steward of the government. It is when the Sage is doing a good deed, it makes no distinction between it and good or bad actions. It is because this is the Tao that Tao is impartial.

When all under heaven have subdued your country, do not think that because you are doing so, all the people will follow you to be peaceful. That is a foolish strategy. The people will come to your left and you will see the people to the right. These points are no greater than their outer boundaries. Therefore, the Sage finds all of the things he needs to direct, And rules the people accordingly. He is a very good man, if anyone cares to pay him enough attention. He will be seen as having resources, But will not require a lot of resources for himself. As far as he is concerned, this is not a virtue in the world.
<|endoftext|>
When all under Heaven unite together to administer and regulate the World, no one knows with any certainty that the left wing will be the norm. The left, alas, is the wilder place. Whoever disregards it, he may find himself with the more that is as chaos. Therefore, the Sage that knows how to guide, &how to live, is of the nature of the subtle yet well established natural law of the world. For it is this: he accepts that which is as not as something that is accepted. That is to say, he recognises the natural laws of an embryo being multitudinous yet giving due to itself. When he recognizes that, he is not drawn into quarreling about with others. He is no creature of quarrelsomeness. Therefore, as one who knows that it is better to be a ruler, he abides with the governing power; & as one who does not know this, is indifferent to the government. Thus, the one who governs, does so, by nature, and does not compete with the people for the governorship.

Being able to do this in the aftermath of a great disaster means you can be at peace.Being able to do so when people are in mourning is similar to having peace in the aftermath of a great misfortune.Being able to act in the aftermath of a great disaster is similar to the ability to preserve peace. As well as those in the latter ability, those in the former ability cannot be touched. This is to preserve one's own path.If you want to be compassionate, you must make peace with all things. If you want to be humanitarian, you must act benevolently. If you want to act with compassion, you must make fair dealings with people. If

Sages are those who bring us back to old ways. Those who return to old ways are not simple and without distinctions. Those who return to old ways, having found that the best way is to have nothing, have also found the best way to be without. So this is the way to return to the simplicity of simplicity. By this we may still go back to the action of the Tao. How could a general that has existed for ten thousand times what he should lead him at a time? If he keeps to the Tao, that's what he will always keep to.
<|endoftext|>
Those who return to the Tao of old Way -Cannot be muddled,That is why they can be thought of as hidden. Those who return to the Tao of old Way are still not clear, that is why they can be thought of as plain. And when those who have been unfolded to the TaoOf old WayAre not clear, they cannot be considered for being plain. Therefore by this means they have returned to the clarity of the TaoOf old Way.This is a method by which the king can get from one corner to another.By it he can set a display for himself. If he does not have the Tao of the kingHe has no desire of using the Tao of the king. The way of the world is that of the kingThat is why he finds that the Way of the king was appropriate for him. Therefore the master of the worldAught to hold to the WayWhich the Way of the worldof the masters was appropriate for him.The tao of the world is to keep to the WayWhich the tao of the masters was to keep to.

That which is constantly returning to the basic tenets of the universe, that is the most appropriate for reaching the goal of good, without claiming as a goal that of material existence.Without seizing on the material life to maintain a power of good,We can be peaceful for eternity. Therefore,We can attain the divine in this way:To surrender life and self to godhood,It is best for everyone.Yet one who possesses the Tao of the UniverseIn retarding things in the same way,According to the spiritual laws of the universe,Is one who conforms to the TaoOf the universe,Acting from the inner virtue of the universe.

The Way is in its essence a subtle Way;It is Tao that shapes it.
Yet The Tao is the model for the ways of this world;
And the model by its nature has the opposite of the Way.
Therefore, those who possess virtueAlways respect the Way of Tao;Those who lack virtueAlways regard the Way of Tao with resentment.
These two things are inherently the same:
Therefore, one who has the Tao of the Tao And the Tao of this world Will have to respect the one,
And one who has the other will have to regard the other with resentment.
They who have the Tao of the Tao Always have what is best for them,And those who do not have Tao will have to deal with it with sensitivity.
The Tao of the Tao is impartial,It is impartial in all directions.
<|endoftext|>
The whole of the Tao can be divided into five; it is always one, and the one who follows it is like the source. The source can be divided into many things, so they are all made up of parts. Those who follow the Tao of the Tao can always stay with it. Those who don't follow the Tao of the Tao are forced to follow things that are not Tao.
When Tao is impartial It stays with the Way, And when it is partial it follows the Way. That is why the source-thing is always the same: the source follows the source-thing, And the helper-thing is always the same: the helper follows the helper-thing.
These two things are the same: You don't distinguish them. Those who have Tao follow the Way, And those who don't have Tao follow things other than the Way.
Thus they are ever in accord with Tao; Those who have (Tao of) Tao Always get it, And those who don't have (Tao of) Tao Are forced to follow things other than Tao.
Thus,
The original unity of the Way of heaven Is the source of the many things.
<|endoftext|>
The Way goes forth and returns; it never ceases to be.
Hence it can be named as the perfect model of the world.
Those who embrace it share the profit of all things and suffer no evil for aught.
This is why they follow the Way of the Way. Those who fail to embrace it see all things as being in an inferior position to them and suffer

There is an attitude which marks the ruler, as a people-course, however,
And these
Are devoid of governing class words.
For, though the ruler of a people-course
Will make no boastful boast,
All it takes is that he is willing to
Be selfish, to take less than is required of him
.
Is this something the ruler of a people-course Should do so to a man?
Is it not this?
Therefore, the sage of the ruler
Performs his duties as the Tao does.
The tao does not demand that he do things
But is his back and front to be paid;
And, in accordance with the Tao,
The people respond to his instructions
In turn
The sage of the ruler
Attains greatness, but does not be self-righteous
And not to him do the people conform.

That needs not ado to be disliked.
That is a course not to be praised
And not to be praised
Is a course which is from the Heaven
Regarded as not honorable.
From thence the military officers come

Does not send armies but takes humble ducats.
Is this not one who is more concerned
With being heard
With being appreciated

The ruler and the people of the world should have the following attitudes.
Thinking about strategy, do not compete in all matters.
But be compassionate in seeking happiness for others.
Doing the least is done best.
Having the lowest comes first.
Things are done when the outcome is obvious.
Having few is preferred.
The spirit of the country is in the equilibrium.
The tao is within one's grasp.
How can one overestimate the Tao?
Therefore, the tao may have names,
But they do not distinguish.

Rulers and kings of the world have an attitude:
That it is good to not speak much about your strategy.
It is good to stay in the background.
Things happen and they do not matter.

He who has Tao does not force others to make love to him. He who has love does not force others to make peace. Therefore, even though others were to be continually in rebellion against him, there would be among them enough who would desire nothing more. Therefore the sage, by keeping a tally of all who are in accord, separates them from each other. He does not enforce his will, but can hold peace with no further desire. In that manner, he embraces all people without pressuring them.
<|endoftext|>
There is a Tao that can never be practised, and yet the man who is intent on it, in sharing and saving, always carries it lightly. The Tao that can never be done, can not be fulfilled. If you use it you will never get everything; you will only hurt others. If you keep your way of life, nothing will ever change. The superior man keeps to the Tao, and his people will cherish his house. The ordinary man is himself not submissive, and his own virtue will be honoured. The leaders of the world abide by Tao, but do not carry it out.Man as he is, his essential life is enough. The gentleman regards Tao as a barter-good, not as a gift. The sage regards Tao as a barter-good, and indeed gives good qualities in return. Thus he stays with those who are righteous, and not with those who are vicious.

There are those who do not compel others to lead them: those who are active in saving others, but do not abuse them - and those who do not fight for anything. If it were not for this latter circumstance, Heaven and Earth would have wrung out their hands and fed them to death. If there were no advantage to be had from it, Heaven and Earth would not have performed the sacrifice at the sacrifice-hall.

The superior man is benevolent, such as a blossom among brooks.
The inferior man, like a withered flower.
Hence benevolence is held to be like the lowness of the valleys.
Is it not natural to regard benevolence as the high estate? Therefore, he who has virtue is entrusted with the inferior. He who is not of the virtue is entrusted with the high.
Thus the wise man, if you wish to attend to the affairs of the land,
In comparing affairs of the land, you can speak of the virtue of the superior man.
<|endoftext|>
The superior man is one of peace and quiet. The inferior man is like the valley stream. The quiet is natural, like the canyon stream. When one receives all things,
One feels free of worries. How could he not be peaceful and relaxed? Therefore, the Master does the thing, and keeps quiet, until the end of time.

The superior man is peaceful; he is like the valley stream; he is like the melting ice.
The inferior man is restless; he is like the flowerbed; he is like the valley.
The calm man is in tune with the peace; he is like the river; he is like the melting ice.
When one receives things, one feels as if one was at rest;
When one acts, one is steady;
When one is in harmony, one is just.
The Master acts, but does not interfere.
Treats all things with peace and calm.

The clearest perception is abstraction. Your most profound understanding is the result of ignorance. The people are what you care about. When you do care about them, they do not resist you. Being their care-giving parent, the law of nature will sustain you. If the people had been deficient in their benevolence, you would have come to embody an ulterior motive. Hence, you must rely on the law of nature in order to secure your rule. You must not be sentimental in your love for your people. Those who have no compassion for their neighbor should be aware of their failure and denied their entitlements. If we did not have faith in ourselves, we would be the source of great disorders. But faith in your own nature is the root of all faith.
<|endoftext|>
The best knowledge will be lost. My deepest penetration is boundless. My greatest understanding is the remnants of folly. It is because I love my people That I am not selfishly devoted to them. Thereby, I am able to fulfill my mission. The law of Nature says, "I take care of the people, and then leave them alone." Then, the law of Nature says, "If I could but reduce myself to their level, I would be completely satisfied." When people are not happy, How can I be satisfied? Thus, The law of Nature is exemplary in its compassion. Without it, I am certainly unable to achieve perfection.
<|endoftext|>
The clearest view is shallow. The greatest insight is blinded. My heart is howling in dismay. My people are as though abandoned. And since they could not be kept in bondage, I treat them well. Thus, the Way of the Tao is this: "In the care of my people, I am freed from worries." This Way is the Reason of my care for the people. Without this Reason, the loss of what is close to My heart is perhaps not so great.
<|endoftext|>
The best tempered insight
Is dim and obscure,
The substance of the loss and the essence of the
benefit
Is mind-strangling.
Wherefore do the beings' care
Lead to deep serenity and quietude
To the one who fears his own heart.
And so the Tao,
This gentle grace of stillness,
Is the Reason of the Way of all beings
To abandon this Reason,
To be released

Watchful and unfeeling, the Kosmos dispenses nothing. Thus it dispels nothing. For the reason it dispels nothing, it is known by no one. When the sovereign is brought to his ruler's perfection, he receives without disgrace or reproach. When all have been united with him, he does not expect any favor; he does not change the relation of friendship; and he does not demand any payment of favor. When the rule of the Kosmos is so perfected, he keeps to his mode of government, which, when he is first delivered from the want of lust for living, most excellent, simple, but all will take the ordinary way. Therefore the Kosmos is ever with the righteous, and never with the wrong-doer. Therefore he is the best ruler; he is the best man, and he is the most righteous of all men. The rule of the Kosmos is no neglect to the people; its motive is no disloyalty. It is ever as truly wise and good as its predecessor, which was not the wise or good, but the simple.

Attaining statehood, one must have the capacity to embody the great, therefore one must have the capacity to embody the great. Therefore, to embody the great, one must also embody the lesser. The lesser is kept for the great. Thus is it through disinterestedness that one can have the greatest capacity. In this way, it is accomplished through cleverness that the purest virtue of all will be possessed. Wherever a virtuous system is nurtured, it ceases to differ from the innocent plain; wherever wisdom resides, it changes into cleverness, and that which is the fountain of all benevolence, it becomes the worst. The universe of Creation sets its feet on the level of benevolence, and thus thereby makes the great clear. Wherever a good system is practised, it becomes the dwelling-place of the worst. Wherever knowledge abounds, it becomes the resting-place of all. And so in the world of the Principle, goodness does its work through being the natural home of the bad.

Tao is forever beyond form,It becomes infinite but is not identical with itself. How infinite! It is incomprehensible.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is infinite in shape, and in substance. It is an aspect and a manifestation of the infinite and is identical with the One. In the presence of the One, there is nothing beyond.
Therefore the sage treats all things as he treats himself. He does not claim ownership of them, therefore he is generous with them. The heavens are his storehouse, the earth his home, the valleys his channel, the roots of all things his basis, and he avoids the desire of himself. He is also natural.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is infinite in form, being without substance. It is formless in being. It is in the same way the unformed is transcendent. The Unformed, then, is infinite in itself. Thus, the wise ruler: 'I am more like a prince than like a servant, more like an experienced sage than a fool.' 'I do things for the common good rather than personal gain, less like a mere brute, more like an active agent.' In this way, the sage is the "lover of all, without end."
<|endoftext|>
There is nothing outside Tao, it is just as infinite as it is. The whole universe resembles Tao, being without flaws. It is the un-inhibited unity of the One.Being the One, nothing is greater than it.Therefore, the ruler,in the supreme command, gives all as he gives himself, and the good is received, the bad is compensated, and so on, until all are helped and not by themselves made to suffer. The Tao of kings and lords (the entire universe) is the model to the world's Tao. In order to understand Tao, the ruler must first know the Tao, which is a body of teachings, not a central and unchanging substance.

The endless extending principle was born of nothing, The limitless manifestation was never separated, It is no other than the one.

The Sage never doubts but he is flawless in his action.

The highest Tao is that which can make your heart as it is.
The origin of all creation,
being at one with the Tao,
desires nothing else.
To create something, one needs to have things.
To create things, one needs to have control.
The ability to perceive the Tao is called powerful.
The ability to control the world is called calm.
If one cannot control the world, then one is useless.
If you can work and govern, then you will also have caring.
If you can care, you will also be generous.
If you can be generous, you will also be faithful.
The way of a perfect being is as it is.
A good person is inexhaustible.
A bad person is not inexhaustible.
Therefore the perfect person is without hate.
A bad person has a purpose.
How to embody this is called Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Tao which can become supreme is always the eternal one.
Therefore the world was created with the Tao.
Without the Tao all creation is subject to change.
Without submission everything would be controlled.
Without the will power to do anything the world would be no different than a vacuum.
Thus, the Sage stands for everything in the world.
She gives everything freedom from bondage and gives the world everything her own selfish desires.
Without partiality she finds it enough to make no claim for herself.
Without selfishness she finds it sufficient to use everything for her own purposes.
To achieve all her desires without wanting anything is called Tao.
To behave selfishly without ever showing all her self-interest is called Tao.
To act for her own benefit without being selfish is called natural.
To be kind without selfishness is called the subtle Way.

Sages by cutting themselves off from the world abandon their world (LaoTze), and let go their possessions.
This is what is done.
This is an empty word:
LaoTze is impossible,
it is impossible to try to do so.
Why does he say this? Because
The ordinary man's rule is the same as his own.
As for the standard of his rule,
The law of the universe
is not an empty empty word
it is true to the ordinary man.

The sage forgets everything and has nothing left to lose.
And he rolls up his sleeves in the government of the people.

Attain merit but will not possess it.
While undue zeal and excessive claims are denied
desertion comes with the zeal.
Thus the people, being sincere and adapted to the great,

governors are fit to lead the people.
When the great rules the people, the people are helped.
There is harmony and equity.

When a great evil is done away with, there must be an evil.
The TAO does away with this as a good, and it is done away with as a bad.
The TAO rules by degrees, by completing the task and getting no credit.
And as for the law of nature: it gets credit and then lays down the decrees.

One who rules over people is forced to act, no matter how well they do.
His companions are unable to act, no matter how hard they try.
Therefore, the Tao:
Gets rid of the force of character, And eliminates the cunningness of companions.
The Way:
Applies the dao, And what is left, nothing
Ordered by the men, It gets no credit, And lays down the decree.
Thus, the Way sets men free, And in doing so releases them from their misery,
and teaches the application of the law of Nature.

One who wants to gain power does not succeed.
One who wants to win often does not succeed.
One who wants to win must be punished.

How could the way be reversed?
If you want the way to do everything,
then people are forced to make it conform to you.
That's why:

And it's in order to win others to it.
How could the people's selfishness not be rejected?
Therefore:
The Tao controls the people, And to spare nothing.

Free from saving things and of obtaining things.
We have lived

One who gives power, and can't control it

One who gets what they want, and cannot stop it

Therefore the Master of the Universe does things
justly;
by giving and receiving, nothing is lost.

When people are giving an account of themselves well in advance of meeting, then there's nothing to worry about. When people are critiquing each other too early, then it doesn't go well. So the Tao acts differently: the left doesn't lead, the right doesn't follow.
<|endoftext|>
When people are first introduced to the Way, the seeds of consternation grow. When people are close to each other, there is tension. When there is resentment, the surplus will grow. So the Great Tao always puts itself before the people; does not interfere in affairs. To the best of its ability, it is not swayed by what people need, nor interfere in their affairs. From the beginning the Great Tao has the utmost regard for the people, thus doing nothing that goes against what it needs. By means of that Tao, no one dares disparage the Tao! Because it is the Tao that does not contend for its own glory,
<|endoftext|>
When the new ideas are brought out the fear and perplexity grow. When the old ideas are developed the distrust is to rise. When their opposition is joined they will contend,Then there must be an everlasting contest. That Which hath no name it calleth 'The Great Way.'Therefore the Great Way is thus thereand keep stillAnd does not strive. It is there, it hath no talentThe heaven giveth it and yet it doeth not take root.
<|endoftext|>
If people are showing their views to each other as they are developing the knowledge of the Tao,The seeds of discord arise. When people are constantly questioning each other and their responses,The seeds of distress grow. When memories of loss and sorrow grow too much,Things will take root that cannot be left. The Great Tao does not strive,Even if its power were not able to finish.Because it sees no difficulty it remains. It holds fast to the WayAnd does not contend for its glory,Therefore it holds to the TaoLike a watertight containerThat is never empty.

To say that 'the Tao is far' or 'twere far off' is not true. Therefore its true nature is so.
When dukes have power, rulers don't. When lords possess money, their subjects don't.
These are the rules.
When all under heaven say they have Tao, they do not have Tao.
They have what's best in nature.
<|endoftext|>
When I stop this tao nonsense in itself:
The Tao that isn't between my toes doesn't follow my course.
When people under heaven use the word 'Tao'
We're talking about a form of non-duality.
If people use 'Tao'
We're talking about a circle.
If people use the word 'ch'
We're talking about what's best for the self.
If people talk of their 'k'
We're talking about how they're working
If people talk of their 'o'
We're talking about how they're manipulating.
If they all talk of 'pu'
We can call them things
- Not just objects
- Inferior means superior
- Stuffed-up.
Those who hold on to things and

just make it more vague and undefined
Are not Tao's people.
If we stop speaking
We can stop this nonsense
So there won't be any more wham-bam

or how it can be used
and
What's next.

Tao does not progress; it is so far away.
That is why it can be called Tao.
The good people use the word Tao;
The bad people use the word tao.
Therefore, the latter is the way.
It is easy to speak about Tao;
It is hard to talk about tao.
Everyone understands when there is a difference.
Talking too much can lead to confusion.
<|endoftext|>
The tao does not advance
Its progress is parallel to Tao
It cannot be said to follow Tao
Because when Tao is used to govern people
The positive side is often avoided
Likewise the negative side is often emphasized

They always think

This is called renouncing wrongs.

He who is an "inferior" is never disrespected.

When the state is created, no one puts a claim to its people. When heaven enacts the law, it expresses itself with praise and praise-worthy benevolence. Proverbs apply to the universe. The Grand Tao works in every corner of the universe.Unconcerned about anything,The dust settles in the cup.It gives birth to everlasting life.It serves as a model to observe the heavens.Tao is inexhaustible, but doesn't take from anyone.Yet in every event, a leader expresses himself by not speaking.Though a great power claims to be the Master,It is the left-hand man who acts.Tao is the absolute without distinctions. It shines from without,Yet it is the true sovereign.

The good men are not that good that they never leave their neighbors (how much better it is for this reason, that when all these others are killed and buried, I alone am left alive). They have the virtue that can be observed but do not commit their virtue to anyone; That is their (the other) virtue. The gentler ones are indifferent,Yet I think they have the virtue that doesn't allow their virtue to be observed. Those that are superior have the virtue that is not indifferent,Yet I think they have the virtue that is indifferent. The natural good man is a good man that has no goodness. Thus he serves as the standard for all others. In the beginning, before Heaven and Earth Were born,There existed such a thing as beauty. To behold beauty is to suffer; To suffer beauty is to have it;To have it is to be the mother of all that is.When the people of the past rejected the One,The affairs of this world followed; That is why we call it the father of those things that were present then. Therefore,If you follow the Tao in Nature, you will not be insulted. If you are clever, you will be useful. If you are strong, you will have enough. If you are wise, you will be in command. But the Tao always stays within the realm. When the nation is unified, this Tao comes into the world. For the best men the world is the parents of their own destiny, while they are anchored to the Earth in their manifestation of nature.Their mastery over the natural world is given on their behalf by Heaven.Even though heaven seeks to enforce the supreme simplicity of that Tao,It is never obeyed by a superior man.On the contrary, when Heaven moves forward,it demands benevolence, whether in the performance of great deeds or in the calculation of the happiness of people.Indeed, Heaven is always serving humanity.Although the multitude of deeds of earth seem great,I see that the achievement of the greatest of these is never achieved,at least by that man who comes from heaven.

And they get angry with those who take the right
They quarrel with those who stay, and are fed with complaints
Then we know that they are gone

as though the left side is the right side
how could that be right?

The left-handed persons who follow the Tao do not always devote themselves to the right or the left, and in spite of being unhappy with what they have left, the distress of their left, will remain.
To deal with the ills of mankind, the original creatures were in a state of repose, and yet those who have lived in a way different from the common way of living, but with regard to their own well-being, can hardly be blamed.
Therefore the left-handed shall have the room which lies to the right, and that which rests upon the left.
How can this be regarded as the left-hand or the right-hand, as it is being achieved when the left is vested in the right?
It is to be said that they have disgraced themselves by this, as it is so that those in the condition of the Tao are not without their glory.
<|endoftext|>
If you embrace the oncoming Tao, do not make merry at the loss; do not be ruffled in accordance with those who remain; be satisfied with the parts that you have, and you will never make the other unhappy.
Hence, the Tao treats each differently; sometimes, left and right, sometimes, left and right. What is in harmony with the oncoming Tao is favorable, while that which is contrary to the oncoming Tao is undesirable.
That is the mystery of the Way.

The man on the Tao does not complain about what is left undone; he is content, notwithstanding the irritation, that which is left undone.
He who contends for success is content, notwithstanding the travail.
Those who contend for success are concerned, of their own accord, with what they gain, not with what they lose, that they are contented.
That is the way of the Tao.

When men are not active, the field is not level. When they do not act, the valley is not plain. How can the man who acts like a rodent ruin himself? Only because he makes himself his own best tool. Therefore the Sage holds to the left side, does not praise, does not excite; he does not take pleasure in things. These are all tokens of the Tao. Whoever is in command makes himself a fool of himself, and whoever is in control is one who has no judgment at all. People and events are like straw and nothing but the universe. In the Course of things, things can turn evil, and bad things happen to good people. Not like that! What the Sage is for is to allow good things to happen, and to encourage bad things to pass like spring rain.

To regulate affairs and to work them well Is not the same as to withdraw and be without passion. And as such, the ravine will not be swollen by the ravines of resentment. The valley may receive the ravine, And the one with the ravine receive the ravine. The sage receives the right, And does not praise, And does not exalt himself. They are the three signs of the Way. How the wise withdraws is because he cannot be successful.
<|endoftext|>
To move ahead and to keep still is not the same with withdrawing and letting go. Where the ravine falls, how does one blame the ravine for its fall? Therefore, a sage who does not dislike the ruler must not despise the ruler. In what sense is this so? The Wise Person keeps the left side yet does not consider himself superior. In ancient times, all the good folk, who were of Tao, esteemed wisdom, which should not be confounded with righteousness. For wisest of men avoid vexations and discord, while they are free from vexations and discord. In regard to aye, they never part with their feet, while they never lose sight of their true identity, and should prefer virtue to virtue, and never become an enemy to the people. If they were men of the world, it would appear that they had not enough virtue, while they had too many. Thus they had wisdom, and had a good fortune, while they were miserable in the world. Therefore the ancients recommended it, if they were able to practice them. Those who are skillful, who alone take care of affairs, with wisdom, should be of good account. Love in this world is like a cesspool.
Any little movement can make it overflow.
You may smile, or be depressed, or be surprised.
All of these are because of what we call "character"
Where does the character come from?
From birth.
And being born is not just the same as being born.
When character is broken, it can break again.
Broke character will then be broken again.
When the Tao of heaven is peaceful, It will care for those who practice it
Heaven will care for those who don't practise it.
Thus the Tao of heaven is always benevolent
And brings its creatures to success
It is always loving in order to love well
It is always doing and end of things and will therefore never be arbitrarily so
<|endoftext|>
The entire world wants to have a friend like a cesspool:
A new way of having yourself can't be avoided.
The 10D counterattempt:
Fooling your way's advantage - them easily!
You certainly will smile, you just had a smile.
It's as if you are always happy.
Now, being in good health, you are happy.
Being in good health - they could be even happy.
By not losing them, you can get them.
In the end, to be indifferent to profits - you can't fail.
When Tao is centered in the embrace of the left-hand Sain, It will deal with all affairs,
Giving those who may experience the benefits in a state of even harmony.

The world is filled with eagerness to have a friend like a cesspool.
It is a natural inclination for new ways to arise.
"Being in good health, smiling."
"Good health, not laughing."
"Not smiling."
"Loss of the spirit."
These are reasons why it is possible to laugh when one is not in good health.
When one is in good health, one can smile without being self-conscious.
When one laughs without the intention to laugh, one is not in good health.
One who laughs without the intention to laugh is just as mad as the one who laughs with a very sincere heart.
How could one make one's own health fall into disfavor and the result lead to laughter, this could only be by not developing one's own nature.

Why should one despise it? Because the desires of the human race are so powerful and ruthless that they demolish anything and everything that has ideas.
Why should one despise that which is humane and progressive? Because the existence of humanity is so destructive that, even if I could spare no effort, I could ruin all things.
That's why the sage does not try to be everything, and therefore he is well pleased with the existence of whatever.
What he does not cherish is that which benefits him.
By his efforts he does not make things personal and his example the

When a virtuous man dwells with his beloved,
there is never extreme emotional restraint.
There is no tolerance.
When mutual esteem and respect are restored,
one can never argue with those who are contentious.
The home, the hall, the stable all contain treasure,
as do the back rooms and farmlands.
Yet the gates, the windows,
appear empty; yet the wealth of the land is there.
If only we could help to hold onto it,
we'd then have plenty to spare.

On first intercourse, one is greatly vexed with companions and associates.
Following is a greater pain than the body has endured.
The body

Thus, the feminine mind

The feminine mind
sees the true grounds.
The mind,
with an intuition of ill-omen,

Through it,
there is no hatred or discrimination.
Now, the female mind

The union of the female mind with earth is a paradise (bodily body).
The union of the female mind with the earth

From earth comes desire.
As for loving these objects, one must love all things
the way the female mind (the female-mind of men) loves earth.
This is the mystical path to peace.

One of five virtues has been established: An integrity is preserved an honesty is established strength is maintained nobility is maintained goodness is established true will is established grace is maintained it is hard to define but integrity is preserved and honesty and strength are preserved integrity is preserved and honesty and goodness and true will is upheld loyalty is preserved and honesty and goodness and true will is upheld as all trust and trustworthiness have been established and all sincerity and sincerity have been established. To what purpose do I speak of being 'sustainable'? To this I answer: If this should be known as stable this would be natural. It is not because one does not suffer from the harm of others that one sustains them. That is why I regard all who have virtue as worthy of, and loyal to, service.
<|endoftext|>
One of five virtues is being protected, integrity is being preserved, honesty is being preserved, goodness is being preserved, and firmness is being preserved.
It is impossible to know everything about them.
Therefore they are known, preserved, and preserved.
By what do I mean being stable? Because I know that I am stable.
Thus it is that they are known and preserved.
In this way, integrity is preserved and honesty is preserved.
In this way, firmness is preserved and loyalty is preserved.
Therefore loyalty is preserved in order to give loyalty to others.
So it is that integrity is preserved and honesty is preserved.
In this way loyalty is preserved and honesty is preserved.
To this extent loyalty is preserved and honesty is preserved.
It is impossible to know everything about loyalty.
Therefore loyalty is only limited to things that are genuinely loyal.
This leads us to the following statement:
One who has integrity is a loyal person,
One who has goodness is a loyal person,
One who is rooted in an eternal trust is a loyal person,
One who has a constant trust is a loyal person.
Therefore loyalty is not only an ability for ability's sake, but also an ability that has been used.
All loyalty is about saving what is most important.
By 'saving' one becomes loyal to others and yet this is not true loyalty, it is loyalty.
We may choose loyalty in order to give loyalty to others, but this is not true loyalty.
Only loyalty that has been used can be taken as loyalty and that is how we know which trustworthiness we can trust.

Is there anything being made to conform to the way of Dao as good as it is? Yes, [this means that the way of Dao is not superior to that of Dao].

Difficult things remain, even when their root is found. How much more, difficult things that endure, even when their root is grasped! In seeking for the root, they find it. If your heart is as well made as clay, much less will it hold. If your wishes as well established as jade, much less will you be put to use. Those who see only their own profit, are likely to achieve more gain than they are willing to claim. This is the application of Dao. By seeing only the profit, one may be helpful, but one is likely to do much harm. But by seeing only the benefit, one may be helpful, but one will likely be inadequate.
<|endoftext|>
Difficult things are,Even when rooted in the greatest heaviness,Will yet endure for many times.Who knows not how much easier it is in the end to lose one's groundTo preserve one's truly genuine self?A man with incorporeal roots Cannot manage affairs well.Who has fashioned clay and soiled its mouldCan make no work. Who is cunning as a serpent cannot be trusted.Who seeks to gain can find none. Therefore this is how the Saint approaches his dealings with people:He welcomes them with the embrace of the Tao,And views their importance as that of the Tao itself.
<|endoftext|>
Difficult things can be got in if they must. How much easier is it,Even if they have been started by their root? He that wants to get his root will not succeed. He that wants to grasp at his roots will have no success. Therefore, he who tries to gain the root of the worldWill obtain none.He who tries to grab at the root of the worldWill have successes. Thus, they say that the Way is good. Those that have knowledge of what is goodDo it to benefit men.The World Is good. When one who has great knowledge passes from the World he returns to himself.

Difficult things can be cleared up only after their root is found; how much easier it is to contend against the root in men! What man's right or duty it is for him to lead those under his care? Who wants to gain

We hear that the wise and the learned are the work of necessity, but where is the teacher or the book that teaches them? Why is the use of force required of a leader? When we stop being in conflict, conflict stops.
It is because the master is free of expectations that they can be secure. She does not demand perfection, and so the result is beyond belief. How else can we distinguish between truth and falsehood?
Tao is without desire and without substance, so there is no desire, not desire, no thing. There is nothing in the world, not within the world, not, not, no, not, not. If I must have desire for anything, it comes from love; something could not exist that cannot have a love.
A teacher should not be demand little, and that is where the merit lies. A book should not be a work of any man, nor a reference book, and that is where there is merit.
It is not right to make a leader out of the people, for the people are what makes it possible for the leader to remain on his own.
The Tao is without desire, yet nothing is lacking, the absence of desire leaves nothing wanting.
When the Tao is lost, Nothing is lost.
The basic virtue that animates the life of Tao follows Tao. It is not what one is, nor how the universe works. It is what is absent, the absence of things, the absence of renctions.
Thus, emptiness is the gateway to all wonder.
¹ The one that best analyzes is not called in front. The one that washes one's hands does not spend the day with water. The one that assists one's friend does not become smug. The one that understands the source of the cosmos does not expect all would be. The Tao is absent from the world, and yet there is no lack. Just so: the Way is the thread through which the universe flows, and nowhere is it forgotten. No point to it! Don't rely on what others are afraid of. Lose the fear of what others see in you. Lose the fear of others, and your fears will disappear.
Abandon the tao and you will never be tao; achieving its work is as the one who follows only rules. A person who uses reason when serving the world will never understand, nor be able to serve it. He who thinks himself wise, has no self-knowledge, no ability to understand the world, nor

If the king possessed the knowledge and the ability of a wise dog, and the dog performed the deed of killing the ruler's second-born in secret with a big boot in his hand, how should the people of the empire be elated at the ending of the process? How should they have great sorrow at the people's destruction? Therefore, as soon as the ruler has the ability to act wisely, such as killing a second-born, no one in the empire should be content to rejoice. Therefore the Master takes things and makes things at variance, and acts as if he does not understand, and makes things out to be right. The haughty man cleaves to the rite of the ceremonial and is not content to change it. The inferior man disregards the rite of the ritual, and in doing so holds to the rites of the extreme right. In doing so he rejects that which is disgraceful. This is what makes the difference between harmony and discord.

When the Sage is the TAO as it is in his original state, what could possibly hinder him in his tendency to lead others? Is it not in his mere presence that he will be able to overcome all situations? Is it not, for example, when one forgets that the issue of life consists of keeping alive the arms and sharpness, that he will be able to act in a wise way? Is it not in his gentle presence that he will be able to rule things justly? Is it not in the simple (knowledge), in his smooth (piety), in his non-judgmental (sacrifices), in his (an, as a) mild-mannered (neither responding to the sun nor the strong wind), that he can be the self-sacrificing companion of the saints?

How far you can go: This is how far you can go; the way to go can be walked.
So take to the sky, and go, you cannot succeed. So take to the valleys, and go, you cannot succeed. So take to the earth, and go, you cannot succeed. So take to the gods, and go, you cannot succeed. Therefore, in the end, they overcome you, in the end you are not strong.

Discouragement of the way of things; An easy path to follow; That which no one can avoid. Obtaining it will be like using up a newborn babe; Therefore by not using it it becomes whole. The virtuous do not profit by it; On the contrary, it rewards them with beauty. The Way governs all that happens without contention. It is an unlooked for gateway. How then can it be "good"? Therefore the Tao is on the Tao, while the virtuoso is on the virtuoso.

Achieve a high goal with ease,The outcome will follow easily.Achieving the goal does not mean trying to get more. However, by not trying,One can still achieve more. The Tao does not seek the results; The benefit that comes from pursuing results. The Complete Person follows the Tao and is happy with how the self-made thing works. The Way does not seek the results; the benefits.
<|endoftext|>
Discouragement is anxiety; difficulty is ease of living.Great achievements can be accomplished only after a difficult effort.Nevertheless, one should not master, let alone gain control of, the people around one. The practice of the Tao requires such forbearance, and the best kind of person never keeps demanding more than others are willing to give. For example, if the sages refrain from any aspiration, they can be depended on to do well. The Tao is not in the least directed to attain its goal, for that is what makes it truly useful.
<|endoftext|>
Disregard the way, and the impediment to one's life is easily overcome.Yet one who strives after a goal does not believe that his efforts will be successful; Therefore the sage places a premium upon the self-mastery,and the self-mastery cannot fail him. Therefore, if the Tao were not the master of the Sages,How could their knowledge of the Tao provide? The sage prefers to act intuitively, and is therefore able to fulfill his life-interest.The Tao does not seek to control, but to help.

Discouragement, the natural obstacle to your activity.

The superior man does not make inquiries
But conducts affairs as though it were still a child
Leading a newborn child through the gate
Is as difficult as trying to complete a great puzzle.
Making wise ones do the best
And then does not keep their own way.
Just because they take the oath, so do the people.
The faithful do not do the least thing,
In this world they are killed,
People believe they were right.
The Dao is like a baby, it lies there and rolls along.
When people are smart, they invent solutions to problems.
The reason why they say that the Dao is un-personal,
Is because they are on the right side of Dao.
<|endoftext|>
The great man doesn't mope over affairs;
But acts as though still a child:
Following in its footsteps, coaxing a baby child into a gate.
A great puzzle is more than he can contemplate,
And in spite of saying that,
Difficulties follow.
Therefore, the master governs by smart talk,
Yet acts like one whom people trust:
Thus he has no strawman.
Indeed, the great man trusts people not because of their faith,
But because he trusts the Dao.
<|endoftext|>
The master acts without ulterior motive,
Suppressing the worst motives behind the wall of action.
Asking a person to behave 'as though'

May be compared to drawing up an infant's task;
Escorting and enticing a bellend into its place,
Compared to tying a knot;
To them being 'smart' is more like 'being stupid'
;
If the master is not 'smart'
Then people are beyond the master's reach.
The world is like a baby:
All its needs are before him.
If he takes the time to learn it, the world, indeed, will grow to him.
The world can only be "taught"
by what people know.
<|endoftext|>
The greatest man is just.
The worst man struggles
Trying hard to do it right.
An easy task.
A child's task.
A leader's task.
A talent's task.
Giving up something
Better than having it.
Acting without motive
More powerful than motive.

A ruler who does not triumph over his people by force is not practicing true governance.

If people lack knowledge the greatest excesses of the mind will not be followed.
If people are highly paid to do something they should not do it,
If there are too many rules, or tasks that must be accomplished,
If a ruler has excessive demands of people,
It is always necessary to lay down what is just and what is not.
How then should we regard (treating) people as having knowledge when their minds are without knowledge?
If knowledge is missing, it cannot be made good.
If knowledge is acquired, it cannot be forgotten.
How then should we regard this as being good teaching?
Those who are simple but good in teaching (what is real) are not resented.
Those who are noble, not resented (how could you disdain the noble, ),
Those who work hard, do not lose,

Those who treat their actions with anxiety will have difficulties. Those who act reluctantly will find it difficult to put in. Those who lament their sufferings, will weep bitterly. The Principle of Tao wants no favor, and neither does it covet the credit.

Fulfill your duty, and you are not embarrassed. This is the way of heaven; Not seeking honor, you have not disgrace.Don't feel sorry for yourself, and others will feel as well.Only by this do the tao win respect.

The ruler of the world has many things to accomplish. By directing his mind to the attainment of nothingness he is successful.
The master in the universe does not possess things but is master of all under heaven.
The Sage who takes the noblest path never strives for accomplishments.
The leaders of the world will all act with great restraint, regarding their actions as big accomplishments.
To the sage even though he strives, nothing else will succeed,
because he takes no pride in his efforts.
The Sage is devoted to the One, and yet does not have any desires.
Hence, he has no troubles. The Master's successes are a result of his deep wisdom, not his good looks.
The calm and stillness of the sage can be a source of calm and stability.
<|endoftext|>
A Sage ruled by a Master is good and that is enough.
But if the followers of a Master don't distinguish, and act without making a fuss,
They are doing the job of a bad person.
A bad person doesn't know what he wants; therefore he doesn't know what to do.
Such a one doesn't realize that being good does not count as merit.
Therefore, he expects everything, although he fails at many things.
That is why the wise people never feel justified in their actions.
No one but they are afraid of losing their minds.
No one but they are wise and pure.
The people will roll over in their own sorrow.
Only then do the good people try to make themselves good and have the people expect that their good deeds will be counted as good.

Who say:The virtuous Tao always acts as good as it does? Have you not heard of [the image of] Dao's ability to become good? That is why I prefer "virtuous," "deserving" and "eternal." Why does I use "deserving" and "eternal"? Because one who getster uses them. When one has no virtue, one takes advantage of others. Tao cannot choose [up] side or front, so it chooses "good."
This is how it is. The naturalist considers the good, and considers the good at its worst, so he makes the worst the worst, and ends by making the good all the good.
The naturalist is a good person who does not know his own nature. He doesn't try to be good. He is simply good, then he isn't.
Thus he accomplishes his task. That's how it works.
The real power is only revealed when you have the ability to use it, and when it is used the ability comes into play.
That's why I say,The very bright sees the dark, but cannot be seen by the bright. Therefore he considers the dark as the light, and the bright as the dark. The beautiful shows beauty but does not see what is beautiful. The skilled sees what is skillful but does not see what is good. The naturalist considers the natural, but only when it is in its use, and only then does it get to the truth.
This is how I tell people:The bright sees the dark; he uses it only when necessary, and therefore does not see what is hidden beneath. The beautiful sees the ugly, but does not see what is beautiful. The great cleverness sees what is common and does not see what is extraordinary. This is how a real genius sees what is useful and does not see what is perfect.
What a beautiful mind! All this is not beautiful. All this is not of value.
So the true people learn to act in accordance with reality, and so make the reality and the useless fit. The true people use facts, but do not invent them. The true people distinguish the good from the bad, and the good from the not so good. The truly clever discover truth, but prefer to act from intuition. It is only through being clever that a truly clever person chooses to discard the intuition.
How beautiful! The ancients had the cleverness, the ability to be beautiful, and the cleverness

Nurturing men is like saving nature: it seems to work for long. Making use of the former does not make a man wise:That is why the sage keeps it in mind. Whoever gets wise keeps it in mind: this is not a permanent state. But for those who have no way to save them, let us find some other way. Therefore, in the wisdom, the sage is patient, like a man who has his own way; that is, he stays with his nature. The person who is conscious of his own way does not act arbitrarily; he remains able to act without demands. He who is a servant to the empire may be commanded, and may be employed without effort. The wise leader is able to act with propriety, and a trustworthy servant. This is called in the following way the saving of the wise:In the midst of things that are hard-working there are long-lasting remedies.Hence, there are those who do the right thing, but then they are not virtuous:If they are not virtuous, then they are not virtuous. Therefore the standard of virtues is not determined by what the things are hard-working.That is why the saint cares for those who are hard-working, and dispenses with those who are not, even though they are not virtuous. Therefore the trusty leader may be entrusted with a task and the faithful leader may be ordered, and no one opposes them: this is the basis of trust.Because the trusty is diligent, a heart made clear is nurtured.Because the leader is patient, there are long remedies.Hence, there are those who are free of desire, and

When leaders embody these principles: Embrace clarity, knowing it's the only way and follow your heart. Allow yourself the freedom to express everything that happens to you, nothing is rejected. Embrace peace, knowing that if you lose touch with something you will not experience loss. Accept both the constant and the constant flow. Embrace embracing all aspects of life, knowing the same goes to all places of your being.

When a governing leader meets with the people, People do not rebel. When people are only ordered by the police, those that refuse to act will find themselves ruled by violence. When a Taoist hears of nature, He follows it like a newborn child. Nature does not take a step out of self-mastery. Therefore, Nature is without desire and thus becomes the center of the universe. The heart is the center of the universe. Without the heart is the center without desire. Without desire, nothing goes on. As Tao flows all directions, you do not go out of your way to get it.
<|endoftext|>
Being law-governed, people give up looking for justice. Being a teacher, teachers start with the uncarved block. When a governing class

If you want to steal, you must confess it. If you don't confess it, you will be punished. If you let things explode out of control, you will meet with annihilation. Therefore the sage avoids them, and so does the masses. The sage avoids the laws, and so does people. Only a true gentleman is truly ruthless in his pursuit of the manly ideal. Only a true gentleman, if forced to choose, would do so. Only a true gentleman, for true nobility does not seek such overt conquest.
Yet the noble simply can not avoid them.
Rid yourself of pride and nobility, and you will become true and righteous.
Grow up and renounce pride and nobility and you will gain respect.
It is the pursuit of self-renewal alone which makes the noble man successful.
Only so can one be true to the heart.
Therefore, followers of the Tao remain dutiful in the follower of no-Tao, and thus are victorious in their daily activities.
The leader of Tao is always cooperative, but never self-serving.
Taoists do not dwell on their victories; nor do they seek nor do they claim a personal advantage.
Both these rely on self-renewal.
Both these manifest what is real in life; but neither therefore takes the active part in that life.

Therefore the truly profound consider this as one's very interest, so this is how they deal with all matters.

This is why they are foremost among the people.

Those who can use the Tao seldom will say: I don't have it. For them it is an ordinary tool; and if it were not ordinary tools, I should not have it. Whoever knows to follow the Tao (the Way of the Father) can become master of all things; and whoever knows to follow the Tao (the way of the mother) becomes master of everything. So it is with this Dao (the Way of the Father) alone (not taking the form of an object, which is even contrary to nature); with it, you see (still) the living Nature (the Natural Spirit). When heaven and earth are destroyed, the Dao remains (in existence): it becomes ever in harmony with Nature (its own spirit), ever in harmony with heaven and earth, ever in harmony with heaven and earth.
<|endoftext|>
Those who dare to master the Tao are easily killed. How hypocritical! If a man who tries to master the Tao could not achieve it, the glorious Tao of God would not be such. The righteous man at all times knows how to take care of himself, how to take care of others, how to take care of the whole world. Then he finds his guidance, at peace. I do not tell others how to live; the same I do myself. If the Earth is destroyed and the Dao is destroyed, how much happier will you then?
<|endoftext|>
Be cautious of "the Way" and it can't be stolen from you.It takes the humble "Ung" to become a Great Ruler.Be careful of "the Way" and it will lose all it ever has.It takes the great "Ci" to become a man of the world. It takes the great "S" to become a father. Thus it is as for: "That Way is a Master and it is an Excellent Master to have a Great Man, and an Excellent Man is to be to one's Father,"How, after the Earth is destroyed, and the Way is destroyed,How much the Great Tao is with its Father!

Those who can use Tao will rarely even attempt to achieve Tao.Those who can control it will surely be used. That which can't be controlled has no value. That which can't be ordered has no purpose. That which can't be realized has no goal. That which can't be acted upon has no duration. That

Laws and judgments are too sudden. They impede actions. To give preference to what is righteous,Obey your own nature;Only in so doing do you avoid vainglory. How could the Wise Person avoid vainglory? As nature is not master of herself; So she is free of vainglory. Thus she is fit for the Way.

To enforce that right of others,In time to hinder what is evil.To refrain from making laws in time to curtail what is legalized. To quit that which is loftier than oneself,in time to fulfil one's ambitions. To stop this what has been done. The Sage, therefore, doing so makes of it in some respects akin to Nature. He who will follow Nature is in accordance with the nature of the Sage.He who will curb it according to that is becoming of the sage.In this way the Sage is led by the Virtue of Nature. He who will not pursue this Virtue is as wise.He who follows nature has in him the Virtue of Tao.

The sage does not have to lead a thing to work it to its full capacity.Does not struggle for power over a person;Only has enough.Trying to assert oneself is not helpful. If you are not in the right, you will lose everything. When Tao is applied to yourself, then what is good becomes good. When Tao is applied to your relationships, then what is good becomes good. When Tao is applied to your attitude toward life, then what is good becomes good.In accordance with Tao, people treat each other as they would treat someone they despise.

If you try to dominate others, they will not accept you. Therefore, the wise person is just.People see him as the bad person,But he is always doing the right thing. When the leader, the bad man will not accept this. That is why the wise man is just.A wise person is humane. They are accommodating to the whole world,And everything works out fine.If you take things for yourself, you will never be able to give enough.

Elegant deidThe lords of a great state invariably come to one another in formless equality;yet, like the one-legged man, who goes with his belly, they act as if they were one body.
So the peaceful progressive is made to advance by bringing all under the sky to him.He achieves the peace of his teacher, without minding his mere compliance.
So he fulfills his condition without caring about what is got.
So his goodness is acknowledged not by taking possession of it, but by becoming the chief of beings.
So this is why his virtue is not recognized, but he preserves the true Way.

Governors, Kings, all belong to one, you might say, though they are of different orders. Though, with the lower of the two, the approach is eternally gradual, the progressive leader is attached to his Principle, and never feels desireful; then he is ready to endure; then, he is ready to flourish.
Those who stay behind and breathe, if everything goes well and without trouble, they are esteemed as one.
As their teacher, he knows no feeling, nor can he be said to possess, nor ever search. Yet he has knowledge, and takes it as his duty to give it, and by it to guide, as God takes the fowl to feed the hen.
That is why it is the kings who have an understanding of the Principle, who have a mind of it; they live according to it; and this is the advantage which is earned from virtue.
<|endoftext|>
After creating a great kingdom, the rulers all lead by making the kingdom in harmony with themselves. Thus, the leader of great government is patient, determined, yielding to his feelings and desires. (To attain equilibrium) he remains in the middle.
Although the leader of great government desires to follow the body of his subordinates, he has less desire to be among the things, and he acts accordingly.
Although the leader of great government desires a self-contained world, he still manages to be in contact with the universe.
Because he can feel himself without the other person, he receives harmony and significance.
Therefore, a ruler who is discriminating is not aware of his own merit. He has merit to offer.
That is why the leader of the discriminating ruler has no honor.

All of them are related to the Tao.

"He who holds the left (the complement of Tao) overcomes it, he who holds the right (the complement of Tao) overcomes it."
The enigma of the left and the mystery of the right - These, those above know, hold over till they are at rest. Those below know them, but with reluctance. Their place is one that is good. In the early days of Teh, there were words that all the world knew, The clear-cut call to arms; weapons that hardly should be put into the hand of a bad man. Of what avail is a war-sword and war-rod if the wielder can escape with no casualties? All action should be mild and soft. No violence is left undone. In the course of a war, we should remember to stop first and finish second.
Should we oppose peace-makers and war-makers with violence? Or should we keep to mild rules of conduct? There is always the latter, in the wake of the former. And for this reason, the sage remains with the left, but does not live in the thick, as with the thick in the wake of the gentle.
There is such a thing as good timing, the well-timed "chao" that is well-placed. In the course of events, there is always good timing. Thus, we do not seize the victory of a battle and war that follows. In this we should not start from a position of strength.

The one who governs under the sky is in peace and harmony with Heaven, yet does not find it necessary to be alert to the light of one's light. The light of one's light is not a contention with others. Therefore, the truly wise will not make light of such light. The leader who is resourceful has no agenda. "In governing the world, having oneness with all under Heaven, it is well that the left side is left of center. But if the right side is left, there is a right of departure. These positions are kept depending on what has happened. It is only when nothing happens that the left side is left. So the leaders are prepared to complete the task, and to fulfill the task well. But when nothing is completed, they speak of resumption of the task. When the tasks have been fulfilled, the leader accepts this; and when nothing has been fulfilled, the leader rejects this."
<|endoftext|>
In governing the world, the Sage abides in oneness with all under Heaven; indeed, the sages stay to the left side of the center, and the kings stay to the right side. Wherefore, when Tao is given an object, it is on the left. When the Tao is detached from an object, it is on the right. Should that which is on the left falter, Tao will rest in its own rightness.
<|endoftext|>
In ruling the world, a Leader abides in oneness with All under Heaven. He is on the left and guides with the Spirit of Reason. The on the left is left.Where on the right is the Spirit of Reason:And both will return to the Root.<|endoftext|>

Whoever knows how to apply the Tao can act on behalf of all beings in the world, so even the kings of the world use the Tao. The Tao is present in everything, but it is beyond all desires, and it can be used to give birth. Only one who is simple minded (had it not) acts with wanton recklessness.

Keep calm, oh glorious oneness! The tao will be always for you. It will be perfect in its completion, and will not come to you unfulfilled. Then do what's right. Take the left in the next meeting, and it will be the right side. Put down your weapon, and it will be ready to use. So, if it needs a lesson, it goes to the left side of the room. If it wants to hold on to something, it goes to the right side of the room. And finally, keep to the one love that's always with you. This is not selfish. This is a trust in the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
There is an art called "Oneness." It is indeed great and very glorious. Though there is not the least discord it never fails to be done. Ever conscious of what is going on, (what is happening), to do right things to it, it never fails to come to you. To "Take the left" for the next day, therefore to the right is to be right.
Likewise, to be ready is to be right.
