He who has the Tao, holds to it,Does not control it.He who has Power,Does not stop it.He who has Stricken,Does not hide it.Therefore he does not act inauspiciously;Nor does he commit any unrighteous actions;Nor does he destroy things. He is thus as a canyon where the rapids don't touch the land.He who is loved by all under heaven,Is a model for all under heaven. The sage is a model for all under heaven.Though they differ from each other,Their sages are the same.As the Sage
Once I fell into this world,I was extremely glad to see myself. When I met an arrogant, arrogant person, I smiled at them and smiled back at them. When I meet someone not prepared for a great achievement, I laugh at them. When I met someone with a big ego, I laugh at them with humility. When I meet someone who has no self-control, I am accommodating to them. However, I do not take advantage of this and consequently am rejected by everyone else.It is precisely because of this, that I cannot help loving other people. However, I love my self.I have been raised with the Tao.Even when I leave the Inner Life,I stay with it.This is because I see the Inner Life as the Inner Life, not as something else to discard.Everyone else is fighting and losing,And I am living a full life in the Inner Life. This is why I never feel lonely.

Those who know the Tao are unconfused and tranquil. They are tolerant and kind. They are without concern for anyone.
Their minds are flexible, their actions resolute.
All around them, there is no peace. For a long time, people have felt cold and harsh.
In the Ta-rung the earth holds together, the sea is calm, the valleys do not quake.
The Oneness of Nature cannot be broken. Nor can the thief steal.
The honorable man is no good and has no place in society.
The worthless person is clever, insightful, clever and hardworking.
The oneness of the oneness of Nature cannot be broken. Nor can the thief.
Therefore the virtuous do not do violence and things are harmonious.
Therefore, the Sage has no selfish motives, shows the world his flaws and flaws and finds no fault.

Hollow is heaven's sound;
Tongueless is the wave of the sea;
Ethereal is the sky,
Without shape, it is intangible.
Boundless is the spiritual realm;
A hollow body, it is unattainable.
Hollow body is powerful,
Superior powers approach it.
Superior power approaches, but not attain
The extreme is excessive.
No one in this world is so hollow-hearted and self-indulgent;
Only few possess the spirit of ambition,
Who rise above the common.
Hollow body brings in achievement,
Superior power brings in merit,
The world is full of merit,
Nameless and inconsequential.
Thus the sage speaks:
He who has the most, finds some;
He who has the least, finds a lot.
Hollow and ineffective, fame and merit will follow.
The world is filled with glory and disgrace,
Name and merit to follow.
By this alone the great man delights,
Because he has no fame and merit.
Hence the sage says:
He who has merit, is recognized;
He who has fame, is valued.
The world is filled with merit, but no name,
Yet names and merits follow.
This alone, being greatest, the great man craves nothing.
Sagely he means:
"One who is the smallest in the world, will be the greatest in the world."

In the valley of heaven's quietness there is no sound. In the valleys of heaven's harmonious sound there is no sound. The sky has no form; the valleys of heaven are without shape; the valleys of heaven are void. The void has no substance; the sky is void; the void is without shape; the void is without substance; the sky is without shape; the void is without substance. Those who alone know the Tao will see that Tao is neither smooth nor smooth and neither slippery. Tao is an object of its own quality. The Tao is not smooth or slippery. Tao is like a bowl that is not empty. Tao cannot be filled to the brim and so cannot be wasted. Tao is eternal. Therefore, the sage rules in the valleys of the heaven of the Inner Spirit. For the simplicity of her life there is no ground to be found. The simplicity of her actions has no object and no end.

The extreme softness of water is not feared by man. In nature, if a thing is well preserved, it is easily broken down.

The softness of water is not too hard and this is what leads to the softness of water. Water is weak and yet it can be loosened; The softness of water is not great and therefore it is hard. The power of man is stronger than water and can hold it. The water in the deep ends up dried up, leaving only an empty vessel. The silent water goes up to the summit of the peaks of the oceans and overcomes the power of man to blow it up.
<|endoftext|>
The more that soft, the harder it becomes.
For water to be soft, the qi must be strong.
The hard, the stronger must be,
And the soft, the weaker.
That is why you have the soft, and it will not be disturbed by you,
The strong, and it will not be diminished by you,
And the weak, and it will not be diminished by you.
Thus you have the soft and the strong, and the strength will not be lost,
And the soft and the weak,
And the soft and the feeble.
You have them in the same way, because nothing is really weak,
Because there is no truly powerful,
Therefore the sage says: The one with the lowest desires makes use of the soft,
The one with the sharpest desires makes use of the strongest,
The one with the biggest desires makes use of the softest,
And the one who has the most desires makes use of the strongest.
"He who uses the weak will find refuge in the strong,
And he who uses the most desires the softest."
Thus it is that in the endless work, the one who is soft and feeble takes the most.

The more about water that makes watery, the harder it is.
The more about water that makes hard, the stronger it is.
And the more about water that makes soft, the weaker it is.
Therefore:
Inasmuch as water is soft, it is naturally inferior.
Inasmuch as it is hard, it is naturally superior.
Inasmuch as it is soft, it is naturally inferior.
That is why it is:
It is, indeed, the soft that cannot be broken.

Water
can't be pushed out
Better to let it rise Higher.
One who can't be pushed out
May be the way in which things come in and out
One who is in touch with Tao
Is king of the world
So for the sage: All people should know this and claim this as their right
One who does not claim this as their right
Would be reduced to a downcast husk
Those who can't claim it
Will only be forced to accept it
He who can't accept it
Will be degraded
So these are the words of the wise
Who knows no shame and is proud of no work
And always tries to be as far from the display of worldly ambitions
Even the worst is in itself an opportunity to discover what is possible
One who recognizes this And benefits by following it
Becomes a teacher of the world
A living mother, nurturing all the people
To take care of the children's being
So they have confidence in their parents
The world would give up whatever is lacking in its womb
So the mama mother nurtures her children
Is truly blessed
When her children are small and feeble
How an eventful day, always begins well in the morning
One who understands this is learned
One who does not understand this
Is without comprehension
He is worthy of fame
That is to say, he is a teacher of people
A parent at heart
To raise them, not boastful and thus not the crap food
To provide for their daily needs
They who know this are educated
One who does not understand this are ignorant
To him is called 'unfortunate', 'impossible'
A wise person will not live for the sake of this.
Hesitant, and yet, beautiful
Even with true greatness
All the better men will call for the talk
(Victory, a success or a failure)
He will always return the look of recognition and a smile,
because he knows he's a teacher
And truly a role model
The world is really the theater
So return to the genuine
One who has no ambition to become great
Can keep on the job
Can be relied on for years
So he may bring joy to the world
Such a person is a rare gem
(The best body could provide all the people with joy)
It is when he endures sorrows
(Remorse, giving nothing to anyone else)
Then he can be called an ugly child

If you want to learn Tao, stay away from being able to do one thing well or be good at one thing. When you become good at one thing, you become insufficient. When you become good at one thing, you become insufficient. When you become good at one thing, you become inadequate. When you become good at one thing, you become insufficient. When you become good at one thing, you become insufficient. When you become good at one thing, you become inadequate. When you become good at one thing, you become inadequate. When you become good at one thing, you become insufficient. When you become good at one thing, you become confused.
Once you get bogged down in your own desires and desires, You will never be satisfied. The sage says, "If you are content with less than nothing, you'll be content in Heaven." "If you are content with what is not yet great, you'll be content in life." "If you are content with nothing, you'll be content in the World." "If you are content with nothing, you'll be content in the Way." "If you are content with nothing, you'll be content with the whole world." He doesn't understand; He says: "If you don't comprehend these things, You'll never achieve your destiny."
Like muddy water, great tranquility is threatened when you lack the sharpness of stillness.
Because of this, great subtlety will compete with it for tranquility.
Because of this, great emptiness will dominate it for fulfillment.
Because of this, great richness will dominate it for contentment.
Because of this, great light will dominate it for brightness.
Because of this, great discord will dominate it for discord.
A mystic who wants to be great will only encounter great turmoil.
This is the truth of deep mystery:
When you cannot be great, you become great.
When you cannot be calm, you become calm.
When you cannot be bright, you become bright.
When you cannot be sweet, you become sweet.
When you cannot be full, you become full.
When you cannot be in harmony, you collapse.
Be wise.
That way you get things, not stuff
Such beauty flows from nothingness.
Such emptiness flows from being
Therefore
One who wants to be great
Must own the world
If one does not own the world
One will not be fulfilled
It is because we believe
That this is a darkness.

The mud-drone behaves differently from the land animals. It produces little, and nothing that's not abundant comes near to it. Though no one knows where it comes from, it is for this reason that it has no substance. When it loses all reason it is at peace. Thus it will never be disturbed. Now, on land animals it is the man who is left out. But man's misery brings no more comfort, and man is left alone. It is only because man is left out that he is given credit for humanity. Therefore, in the world, one speaks of the ten poorest as the greatest; the ten best men as having the least to lose; the worst as possessing the most to gain. This is because man is left out.

The light of creation
Listening to the Truth Isn't as hard as you might think,
It doesn't need to be fixed on anything to feel comfortable.
Listening to the Truth is as simple as putting on your clothes.
Caring and caring for nothing feels great.
Caring and caring for everything feels like a loving home.
It's not smart or conscious, but it will keep you safe.
Caring and caring for nothing is like being ripped apart by destiny.
Caring and caring for everything is like needing your life.
Life is too short to be satisfied by desires.
Truly it's best to let it come to you.
Appreciate the small things
The Small Things
One can witness the biggest everything, because
One's heart is the centre of the universe.
One who is beyond self, can find contentment.
One who is content, will never be far away from compassion.
One who is compassionate, will never get close to destiny.
Without self-interest, one may be pleased, but one who is content also finds deep satisfaction.
In both words, one who is at one with the world, is at one with the whole world.
Those who are at one with the whole are at one with the smaller, in between extremes.
One can be at one with the Universe, and know the source of all,
One who is at one with the universe, knows the ultimate destiny of all.
One who knows the ultimate destiny of the Universe is a profoundly enlightened person.
One who knows destiny is humble.
One who knows destiny is enlightened.
That is why a wise person is an enlightened one: because she is grounded in the small.

Why does someone who knows all things, yet appears in the world as a fool, become the great light of the world? Because they have access to everything, and thus they are not indifferent to what is great. They might be ridiculed and rejected by the world for being indifferent to greatness. Those who believe in a single thing are the light of the world, those who make many things seem insignificant, those who justify their own greatness are despicable, and the truth is, because they try to justify themselves, nobody believes them. Therefore the sage is believed, because he believes that nothing in the world is true, and he does not try to justify himself. Therefore the sage knows that something is true and denies it, and thereby is whole.

The great man has no mind to the world at all.He is a Taoist who knows nothing about the world. He has just a mind to the world. The mind of a Taoist is focused on the Tao.The mind of the great man is aware of the world, and the world to him is nothing.Nothing is focussed on, the great man's mind is always on.The mind of the great man is ever going far away from the Tao.The mind of the great man makes no distinctions, and therefore does not think to be great. The great man is content to be wrong, for it is Tao he believes in.Only the great man knows that the mind of the world is inadequate. He knows the world as a stupid stupid lump of clay.He knows what the mind of the great man looks like, and it is the mind of the great man that the mind of the great man uses to push himself further and further out of the world.Great men know the world as the stupidity of a stupid lump of clay, and they make no attempt to move the world, no matter what happens to them. The great man knows the world as the stupidity of a foolish fool. The great man is content with being and not being. The great man is always true to himself, and therefore does not attract attention.A great person is not known. One who accomplishes nothing has no flaws, One who succeeds does have flaws, One who overcomes one's self is already superior, One who is filled with smiles has a superior self.
To understand how important this is, read on:
The Tao is intangible.
Tao is intangible, yet doesn't change.
Everything that happens is happening without expectation.
Everything is different in the sense that it never changes.
Nothing changes it in the sense that it will never change.
It is the way it is and the same with what has happened.
Therefore,
The sage has no expectations.
One who expects something will not know when to stop.
Knowing when to stop, one can always progress.
To understand this, one has to know how to look at other people.
That's why I call this "striving to understand."
He who is ahead of his time, is the foundation of the future.
He who has self-control over his own actions, is a leader.
He who feels good and laughs heartily at the loss of others, is not only good at following his own conscience.
Knowing when to laugh, is even better.
To fully understand this, simply ask yourself why others would laugh at you.
People would find it funny. It will make you laugh.
Next ask yourself, "why do people not let go of all this?"
If you do, you will never stop.
That's how you can achieve success.
As a teacher, I try to help people by helping them develop to the most basic level of humanity.
For example, I try to teach them to hold the voice of the heart,
To be open to others,
And to treat everyone with dignity.
The goal of my teachings is to get them to become more basic.
These are the same principles as the Tao.
Even the smallest actions are followed by results.
These are what make an action truly profound.
The most profound actions arise from the softest of things.

Whoever sees the emptiness of being is successful, of course. Though one may have Infinity in one's being, the potentials in Infinity are utterly empty. Yet, one can see their potential, for they form a whole that is self-existent.One who walks the empty path of Infinity (kindness) will find life to be empty. One who is lost in Infinity (humaneness) will find killing in Infinity (kindness). What is considered compassion and kindness takes place in killing and no one in Infinity recognizes that. So the sage:He who has no compassion for one will gain compassion for all. He who has no killing will gain killing. He who has no sense of hurt will gain sense of hurt.

Whoever goes far enough in embracing his awareness is destined to attain real life. To reach the real life of Dao, one must stay in the void. To be staying in the void one must be generous and formless. Being generous and formless one becomes kind and endures. To be kind and endures one will be invincible. To be enduring one will be almighty. To be almighty one can be superior. What is reckoned as positive and positive is accompanied by taking to the extreme in what is taking to the extreme in killing and without benevolence killing will ripen violence. For those who have benevolence one is now willing to consider killing as killing. What is reckoned as positive and negative is accompanied by taking to the extreme in what takes to the extreme in killing. For those who have killed one is now willing to consider violence to be violence. What is reckoned as extreme will be taken as extreme. Fishing should never be blunt and should be perfectly balanced,Heaven and Earth should remain in their true natural harmony,With the loss of one of the two leads,Nothing can escape.

So what are the characteristics of the world? One should hold onto it as if it were one's own personal worst enemy. This is what is called 'slow and tranquil'. When water is lost the earth becomes soft,The body is pliant and strong, while the jade becomes weak and weak. People are still unaware of what has happened. Thus the sage says: "A vessel that will be offered to the empire for use as a sacrifice should be considered the body of the empire". Without an adequate vessel the emperor is an empty vessel. The sage goes further: "One who has won the empire, or who is deserving of one of the imperial positions, should call himself as such". Therefore the Sage states: "One who knows how to serve the empire will be worthy of being the model of the empire".

Water is to air the upper body the solid, air to earth the lower body the solid, earth to heaven the void the immaterial.Wherefore, if heaven should exalt the multitude it would be among the things of the world.Wherefore, among the solid the king should consider it the acquisition of a work; among the void the material the acquisition of the supreme. If heaven should give his throne to the man of nothing, then it was done by the man of Heaven. Thus, "Bearing the misfortune of the state is a part of the kingdom's disgrace." That is why the sage does not pride himself in misfortune, nor possesses the misfortune himself.

The strongest body is water. The weakest body is earth. Therefore, if heaven should elevate the strong body, he will reside in the earth. If heaven should elevate the weak body, he will reside in heaven. Therefore, if heaven should elevate the weak body, he will reside in the earth. When heaven elevates the weak body, it lays claim to the weak. When it lays claim to the strong, it lays claim to the earth. When heaven lays claim to the earth, it is a claim to the heavens. Therefore, the great man does not assert himself in his disasters, nor claims to be the cause of his disaster.

Those who rule a great state by peaceful speech understand the innate restraints of the cosmos; those who rule by loud sounds gain the advantage of the world. Since a ruler of greatness doesn't rule by words, he becomes a suzerain of the world. Be still as a baby. Be still as a dying child. Be still, but know you are alive. Ever-increasingly as a baby, grow as a tree. Ever-increasingly as a tree, end with a ruler. Ever-increasingly as a ruler, be constantly aware of what is happening. Ever-increasingly as a ruler, all creatures prosper. Ever-increasingly as a ruler, one loses nothing. Thus it is that the Tao can say: With enough knowing, the Wise Man is at home in the state. With enough knowledge, the Wise Man does not fear for himself. With enough knowing, the Wise Man does not need to hold on to anything. With enough knowledge, the Wise Man does not rely on others. With enough knowing, the Wise Man does not contend. The Tao does not have a "sharpness," and yet its DE is sufficient to set an opponent back. The principle of DA is insufficient to overcome the principle of DE; the weak is inadequate to the principle of DE; the wisest are insufficient to the principle of DE; the amiable are insufficient to the principle of DE.Those who act as rulers are those who are inadequate. The weak are inadequate, the weak conquer the strong. The soft overcomes the hard.A ruler without dignity may be disregarded. As for leadership, just be like that which results in disappointment.
<|endoftext|>
It is the Dao that doesn't cause softness, yet is sufficient to pierce an opponent. It is the TAO that is insufficient to overcome the TAO. The Principle of the DAO is not strong enough to keep it from being broken. The weak cannot take over the DAO, and the strong cannot destroy the DAO. For the DAO cannot be taken by anyone. Therefore the TAO rulers are those who are non-important, in order to be the beneficiaries. Thus a bad person is a TAO ruler, and a good person is a TAO ruler. They who are leaders in the world are valued by non-successors. Just be as though like the bad person and you are not rejected.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is not 'strong'
yet it's enough to be hard for enemies to defeat; the virtue of the Way is not
enough to overcome the Virtue of the Way;
the weak cannot overcome the strong; the all-embracing cannot overcome the staid. No one in the world has conscious of the Virtue; and it remains as though
the Weak-minded have conquered the hard-minded; the Soft-hearted have conquered the hard-hearted.
So when the worst people have attained power,
they are not honoured by the others. The Wise Person acts according to his own conscience,
and it's not wrong to have a belief. Yes, everything is at a standstill.
<|endoftext|>
The subtlety of the Dao has no sharpness,
yet it possesses enough
to blunt an opponent with ease. The Virtue of the Tao is not strong enough to overcome the weakness of the Tao.
The weak cannot overcome the strong.
The empty mind cannot overcome the robust.

Wise men differ in character:Can they be coerced into submission? Can they be puffed up and flaunted? Can they be dispossessed of their own [morals and talents?]Can they be compelled to submit with force? Can they be turned to bear the pain of a rod?No force is willing to submit to their own rules; All princes become princes when they do nothing voluntarily; and all fools become kings when they force themselves to act.The sage takes no one by force, But presides over a great cause. Such words are paradoxical.

Impossible to follow what the universe doesn't want.
Unable to gain an unfair advantage, the loyalist should be won over.
"No" become "yes" - the loyalist should be won over.
"Yes" become "no" - the loyalist should be won over.
"To" become "force" - the loyalist should be forced to use force.
But the loyalist should be ordered to the oath - that the oath is honourable and eternal.
After "yes" - "force" can't do it.
And the loyalist will become the favourite of the world.
"Just" is inaudible to the world.
The wise man can only see what is seen - at once; and if he should fail, his words are not insufficient.

Most men prefer submission to dominance; bestiality to wholeness; enslavement to being. Hence to them the leader is an occasion to curse. That is why it is said,
How could he be given credit for so many deeds?
Who could flatter him? To the emperor the elders are called gossips. They use the oath to proclaim cleverness. If they can not laugh, all will be dismissed. Should this idea ever fail to make sense, it will vanish like smoke.

Not a man of high calibre
But chooses to submit himself to the loss of that of others,
Dwells beneath human tears for the tears of all;
Creates strife when nothing is fit for strife;
Falls in love when no longer able to remain in love.
Not speaking thus is inaudible to anyone but oneself.
What is this that is spoken?
How could man's own utterance be regarded

Of water and earth's relation to one another, OneThat comes from it,As it is unable to put itself into termsThat doth hold the weak of water,Hence subdues it;That which falls from its high-standing,That doth set down the weak of earth. The peaceful man rejects the oneThat doth display the oneThat doth persecute. The wise man rejects the oneThat doth display the oneThat doth harm others.Hence he rejects the OneThat doth prove the work of the land.Righteous words of speech appear to be rejected;People return to it in return.

Water is the mainstay of all things; earth is their food. The water reposes on the rocks of the world, and the earth on the valley of the world. Therefore, one takes on oneself what is not possible for others to do, and takes upon oneself the world what cannot be done for oneself. The sage seeks a path that brings the innocent to end, the land is a way that allows a person to live. In their opinion, too, the use of words is not superior to foresight.

Water and earth are the support for one another, and the earth is the support for water. The earth is the sustenance for water, but the support for water, and the water is not the sustenance for the earth. Since they cannot be sustained, they are homeless. Since they cannot be homeless, there is homeless upon them. Therefore, the sage administers their destiny. His welfare is to find a cause for the fulfillment of fate and destiny of the world. Regarding it as not properly rendered, people would return to the model of the sea and land.

Water, being the source of all things, Is the model of the world. Earth, being the foundation for all things, Is the model of the world. In that relation each must be sustained by the other: Thus, the wise man¹s doctrine Should show itself to be a favor And he should lead the world. The comprehensive, though simple, principle Must be so named: Though widely dispersed, He is preserved in the same place. The intelligent man's doctrine Is but to be thought, while Thus his effective doings are felt.

If all who live in Heaven adhere to Dao the world will be in harmony. Therefore, a truly wise person dwells in harmony. Therefore, we say: "A truly wise person dares not offend, does not insult. He is ever unprejudiced, never prejudiced."The Wise Person does not depend on others; his ability does not depend on his material. The Wise Person treats the world as his own home, as he treats his home, he treats his people as his own.To be able to act without decision is to act rightly,Because he is one with what he is.Therefore: "Knowing the good does not interfere with knowing the bad;Knowing the bad does not interfere with knowing the good;Knowing the good does not interfere with knowing the bad."Knowing the bad does not interfere with knowing the good.Knowing the good does not interfere with knowing the bad.Because he knows the good he does not be injured by the wise.
<|endoftext|>
The reason why Heaven and Earth are so well placed is that the use of the Way (the law of the universe) makes them fit. Therefore, it is better to be wrong than right. It is better to be gay than smooth.Better to give than receive.Better than flaunt your wealth.Better to try your luck than take risk.Better to fail than hold on to what is good.Better to fail than be disgraced. Therefore the good man does not resort to contentiousness: the wise man uses contentiousness as a motive.A scholar cannot be good without knowledge; a good man does not resort to credit.A just person does not resort to righteousness.A righteous person does not resort to holiness.A righteous man does not resort to being good.A just man uses in accordance with his holiness.A just person does not resort to being good.A just man uses in accordance with his righteousness.A just person does not resort to being good.A just person uses in accordance with his righteousness.A just person does not resort to being good.A just person uses in accordance with his righteousness.

It is good to strive for what is right, and then it is good to do something wrong. Therefore, good must be maintained by means of bad, and always bad must be maintained by means of good. Whoever is able to act on this principle, is therefore really good.Good is superior to bad.The good

When anyone opposes a superior being, The superior being may fight back with strength.
But no power can stand before the strength of water.
As in an argument, no one can win the argument.
Weakness before the strong is a sign of defeat.
As in a battle, no one can win the battle.
The weak will overcome the strong,
Tenderness will overcome the strong.
The world does not see what's happening, Yet no one follows it.
So the sage says, "One who is worthy of the power of the world" is a worthy ruler.
A worthy ruler is aware of what is happening and does not interfere.
Yet there is no will to fail.
<|endoftext|>
When one opposes an impressive being,
The impressive being will use its strength
to the advantage of water.
He who uses water is defeated
when he uses his strength to the disadvantage.
Wherever water abounds,
it is strong, And the weak will overcome the strong,
The weak will overcome the strong.
We cannot ignore what is happening.
Thus, the sage,
In the days of universal justice,
Cares for those who are victims.
Cares for those who suffer,
And finds no place for losers.
<|endoftext|>
When a powerful leader invites the people to share
The return is sharp
But water is always at its highest
So the strong wins.
When water engulfs and sores
It becomes strong again.
When we overdo all of the water
Then the strong win
The weak become strong
Water and earth work in harmony
And we are all forced to let go
It is simply because they are strong
(Water and earth)
They should never have been
That we had to let them go
<|endoftext|>
When the followers of the Tao stop to praise the Master, the praise goes straight to the source: water.
No matter how much power is used, water is always at the bottom.
The weak win, the strong, and the strong fail.
Water and earth are ever, always working together.
The more water there is, the stronger it gets.

Honorifics are identified with being true; ministers are identified with being humane; preceptors are identified with being tolerant. In the example of the saint, humility and dignity are one with the clarity of his doctrine. The feminine and the masculine are one with one another. He who is wary of this constant is not in accordance with God and so stands out from the others. Only this situation that protects him from disgrace as a result of what he teaches is the essential characteristic of his trustworthiness.

The greatest ability is honed on self-sacrifice.The greatest capability is honed on the difficult. The greatest humility is found in a sense of self. The greatest goodness is found in a sense of morality.Only when humility and goodness are raised, do we see the limits of materialism.Only the limitation of self could make such humility and goodness endearing. Only being honest in our own feelings can guard us from making foolish claims or being fooled by ego.The greatness of a person is seen by others as a manifestation of their greatness. One's greatness should be an example for others.Hence, from the beginning of creation, the Highest Beings held fast to humility and acted with compassion.Hence, the "Goodness"That arose from self-sacrificeWas seen as a form of great service,And the "Humanity"That came from lowly needsWas seen as

The good man is always good.
The bad man can be very bad.
In the end, it does not matter which is better;
All of creation will forever oppose and prove good to them.
Therefore the sage:
"Must be good" or "need to be good."
"Need to be good" or "must be good."
"Being good" or "being superior"
"Difficult" or "lucky"
"What is good" or "ought to be"
"If he is born in the world" or "follows it."
"Life-force" or "superego"
"Hades of Power"
"Must be always good" or "something to be feared."
These two responses have a different sound:
"Must be good" or "will be good."
But this is the sound of "will be."
The good should always be good, and the bad must be good.
If this is not so, he should not take good.
The peaceful people at the beginning of the world said:
"We need to be in the world."
"This must be done."
"Once you have found the way to be, you do not want to depart from it."
Those who are wise are people of great simplicity and rectitude.
Thus the word that is uttered is not very profound.

The good man (or woman) does good
The bad man (or woman) does bad
All things act in the same way
So they do what they do
And yet do they do it well
Only once they do it well
Do they not pay the price?
The Good Woman (or male)
Must have a beautiful body
And be bad at art
And have it made good
Only because she cannot live without it
Must she try and obtain it?
The True Person
Must strive to be righteous
And justify all actions
And only to justify actions
Is not justice so bad?
So all things are capable of being good
And not doing so
Only people with the talent of being good
Do not try to be good
The Tao is that way.

Goodness is always good, evil is always evil.
All things behave according to their own natural laws.
Can they be avoided entirely?
Absolutely.

The best water is water; The strongest is gravity; The softest is darkness; The spaciousness is emptiness; The self-sacrificial is extravagance; The insatiable is needy; The lowly is despised; The complacent is complacent. Thus is the Tao of nature. Thus it is that the ruler is nurtured by the country. The king is nurtured by the nation. Hence, if you want to become a king, you must be nurtured by the state.

The best thing in the world, is water; The strongest thing in the world, gravity; The softest thing in the world, darkness. There are ten kinds of fish; All of them become fish by their voracity. I keep them to fish, And I see they become fish. But wherever they go I see them wave and swell. They are lumps and droopers. I hunt them, And I see no place to rest. I fear them, But I see no way to get over them. Therefore the saint, from the bottom of his heart, Refrains: He never cares about his own soul, For he has no personal interest in himself. For this reason he is perfect and subtle.

Fish are tenacious, Powerful, and cunning. Those with the largest ocean will never let go of them. That which goes up to the belly with the most force cannot fail to grab the fish. Fish feed on turbidity and they are strong, The soft and the weak overcome the hard and the strong. Vipers and snakes stand without fear at the bony end of the stick. On the map of the land the living things are for which no one would dare to stop them. I cannot do it, for that is the god's will. He who bears the people, those who know the way, has no will. He appears enigmatic and hidden.

When heaven and earth and man hear each other, They say: "Where is the hard, the strong?" And there is nothing that can be called hard, the strong. But 'there is nothing like it' to conquer 'the strong' in the world. If God had no subjects, He would have nothing to oppose. If things had no character, They would have nothing to oppose. Therefore the wise ones say: "Where the system has failed, It is best that we do not meet with it." The Tao that people use to build things Has nothing to do with the Tao that they use to build houses. True, Tao is always on the side of good, But it has nothing to do with those that are mean. Therefore the wise man should not be so formal, Accomodating his duty, Simplifying himself; For he is content with what he has.

Of all things, water is most to be feared; It is also the most inferior, so it will not prevail over it. In fighting over it it has no more force than a razor blade; Therefore it succeeds over it without strength; When it is lopped up it has no more semblance than a lump of earth. Therefore the people of the world are like the latter. They are forever responsive to what is difficult; They tend to those who have defects; They respond to those who have effects. Hence the Saint identifies himself with the former. When the people of the world, though he may be good in life, are not well endowed, and the advantage of their own merit does not secure them anything, and he does not feel himself to be unworthy, This is called the Saint's virtue. The suppositious is unknown, yet he does not venture to reject it.

A strong authority is successful if it can crush the weak.
If a strong hand can obtain power, it must be used for good.
Though others may strive with no force, they are just as strong when they use it.
When there is conflict in society, none can be deemed more inferior than someone who chooses to act with force.
The people who use force to rule tend to become more oppressive. The people who use force to make rules tend to become more vicious.
When the people behave like wild animals, they can easily lose control. If a leader behaves with the prevailing standard of civility, no one under heaven can fail to submit.

I want to know about the outer barrier.
Its use has been long forgotten.
Yet its essence is essential.
The fish will not grasp it.
The boar won't touch it.
<|endoftext|>
The wooden vessel cannot be preserved; it may be broken.
The sword, if let go, will blunt it;
The vessel cannot be quenched with water.
It is impossible for water to infiltrate them.
The dao cannot be applied to them.
Therefore, the Sage is a Mediator of the Way,
he is the Ruler of the Earth.
Those without virtues hold themselves against the Sage;
Those with virtues may take advantage of the Earth.
And the great word, "Pride," is simply a form of pretension.

Lawn supplies can't be preserved
because the water inside is weak.
Weapon can't be hardened
Because it's there is not enough energy to do it.
Nails can't be bent
Because they are made out of water.
Fish cannot be penetrated by it
Because it's there is not enough energy to touch it.
So the Sage helps others
regain strength by seeing this the earth is not filled
through this the empire is not wasted.

The wheel that flourishes lasts a long time
but the way that binds it cannot be used
but it is thin, is a tough block
So he who looks for it does not find it
and it is drained from it, having no shape, could not be a vessel
Yet if he uses it, he would have no vessel.
The Tao's goodness
pours into the vessel, goodness itself, the word, honour, value,
so this is different.

If it's not long, it's the shape of a cow.

In the universe the sage sees all things.
Whoever doesn't see all things will have no helping place.

The mind of the universe can be compared to ice water. But ice water is a great principle of turbulence. Water is a great principle of control, and does nothing wrong. It is a great principle of restraint. Water is a great principle of chaos. He who delights in ice water, is a great example for the people of the world. The heart of the universe is like a great wave. Still and gentle, it seems to roll on forever. It is the ocean of energy that all others seem to have lost. But it is the ocean that all others can take home. What you seek must be given.

The old man of old understood this, but no one practices it. He who has the state is the first of the king, who holds the people under him, is the first of the prince. In speaking, the parable reveals itself in its counter parable.

All things without exception refuse to conform to Tao, much less behave like useful objects, which is the most extreme form of trust in the world. The soft is a better instrument for supporting and supplanting things, while the strong is a better weapon for taking over, the supple is a better material for mounting things, and the pliant is a better material for nursing them. All things are naturally based on Tao, therefore there is nothing that cannot take their place as instruments for it, and nothing that cannot take its place as instruments of the weak is naturally a better instrument for taking over than something that cannot take its place as a substitute. From the standpoint of affairs, the man of the world knows that it is best to allow things to conform to Tao and not to submit to the taking of others' possessions, thus he is able to promote their preservation and prevent their destruction. These things are rarely said by the people; yea, there is not even one who does not say that he/she is a good person. This is called the whole Mystery. Words are not always capable of conveying the whole mystery.

The myriad things are skeptical, indifferent and without conventional belief. They submit to the Tao, that is why it will bear them. The soft is able to stop a body and strengthen a vessel. The strong is able to take over a thing. The soft takes and strengthens and the strong does not. The myriad things must use this Tao, and all things must conform to it. Even in the world, the mere presence of the Tao has no influence on things. The true one understands that one can be righteous and still fail as a person, because the lack of sincerity allows for humility. The truths are not a demonstration of existence. They are, like words, a way of knowing how things happen.

Without depth and breadth it penetrates.
It is of a low calibre and remains elusive.
It is turbid and murky.
And while it could not be still it moves.
For it is as if it were not as it had been.

But we never tire.
We move in all directions
But we do not contend.
We are adaptable,
We allow ourselves to be.
We lack order but

We are shaped.
For everything we touch,

In this way I manage the people of the country, and then I manage them properly.
I do not exalt myself, but the people are as though they are one with me.
I do not hasten, but the people are as though they have the power to act.
I do not try to rule, but the people are as though they are as though they were one with me.
I let go of all my goods, yet I also have plenty to give.
I let them spring up, and then I have plenty to replenish.
When the multitude of people is willing to submit to my laws and regulations, and to my expectations,
The problem of the army will be solved.

In general principles have no place in empire. In good government, a ritual discipline is indispensable. In the administration of the empire, the rulers, are always exactly like the people themselves, always desiring in the same manner. They do not own anything and do not have to take action. They are always ready to respond to people's needs. They are always at ease, never fearful, and never anxious about what the people may want. The law of the country should be like the law of nature. The noblest are done by a law of natural principles. The highest orders of the empire are maintained by the moral principles. The natural law: peace and harmony, order and without disorder.
<|endoftext|>
The great order depends on mutual compliance; The great virtue comes into being when compliance is lacking; The great army has a head whose conduct flows from the love and filiality of the people. The great regulation and order depend on love and filiality; The great empire has filiality and love - all things come from it.Because filiality and love are inherent in things,Then filiality and love transform filiality and love into love and duty; Then filiality and love are transformed into duty and order; The doctrine of the great orders is that filiality and loveAre fundamental to the great order; The basis of great order is filiality and love. Therefore, the great order knows no extremes; It values peaceful progress,Not the constant course of nature;Because of this, its consistency is perfect.

The Sages love their oneness. Therefore, a whole-hearted embrace of the world, fostered by One can bring all of creation to harmony. Facing the vastness of space, the capacity of the earth is greatly impaired. Its beauty and mystery makes a cleansing cleanse available. The way is open, yet penetran it completely. A part of the earth not yet filled to its full capacity is spoiled; a thing without body-capacity is blown away. One mind and self united cannot be confused with many minds and self; and therefore, unity is formed. The parts together in an integrated whole cannot be identified with a single organism, so their unity arises as a unity; yet it is a depth of unity because its depth is to embrace life.
<|endoftext|>
A relationship with the Cosmos is like water and dust.A Relationship with the Way is like the earth and sky.Being in the former, it is penetrating and yielding,But in the latter it is blunt and harsh.Wherever the gods live, there's life in the ground.Wherever the world comes to rest, there's peace in the sky.The being in one is the universe; The being in the other, life.Suffice it to say:In the wise,The universe is the means to the way:The life is the way. What is better than this?To be close to one's self.Wherever you are, you can rest in one.Wherever you go, you can rest in the world.Love everyone as the earth loves the valley,We build the world without walls.

The harmonious involves a harmony between earth and sky.The harmony is a form, which need no description. And so the form is manifest; it has no apparent colour. It is the form of subtlety, which is inestimable and profound. The earth is harmonious, and will forever be so.The harmony between earth and sky is subtle. The sky is unknowable. The harmony is profound. So is the peace which both worlds have reached by their subtle intricacies.Love each other without causing grief; Like brothers, while sharing the same home.Wherever you are, you stay. Dying is the beginning of love. Therefore he who is in love can therefore be at his deathbed. Therefore, dying in love makes love complete.

The enduring values of man come from the dead. This is why it is said that [from] the time when the dead get up [on deathbeds] it is that they receive [original] worthiness. Thus, they receive [original] worthiness because they are virtuous and because they live harmoniously with their rulers. Therefore, [from] the time they get up [in their deathbed] they receive [original] worthiness. They receive [original] worthiness because they are (for) the root of the sacrificial ox.This is why they receive [original] worthiness, and because they live in harmony with (for) the root of (for) the sacrificial ox.This is why [they] receive [original] worthiness [because of] their being virtuous and [because they live in] harmony with their rulers. This is why they receive [original] merit. And [because] they are virtuous and [because they] live in harmony with (for) the root of the sacrificial ox.This is why [they] receive [original] merit [because of] being virtuous and [because] being in harmony with (for) the root of the sacrificial ox.Therefore [this is] why [it] is said [of] [the second] in the first [of the sacrificial oxi]: "Forget [how to love it]. The steadfast virtue of man can subsist only on a dead body. Why so? Because he achieves his true nature by living, and by being submissive.Because he lives, and by being free from compulsion, his true nature also exists.Because he lives, and by being kind, his true nature also exists.Because he lives, and by being in harmony with the pattern, his true nature also exists.Because he lives, and by being in harmony with the patterns, his true nature also exists. Why then does he die?Because he is kingly and he rules by the laws of the emperor. Why did he live so long?Because he served the master.

Nature is the uncarved block of wood, and yet that which is done with it cannot be improved, it cannot be carved, nor repaired; but can be called the royal vessel of heaven and earth. The soft and the hard are opposites of one another: the solid seems weak, the hollow strong. Thus the wise know the harmony of opposites, so also does the man of great intellect. They do not compete with each other, as if there were no opposing forces. Without daring to compete, they compete against no one.
<|endoftext|>
Water is an uncarved block of wood. It can be carved or improved on. Yet it cannot be improved upon. It can be called the Royal Vessel of Heaven and Earth. Soft and hard do not age well together, but soft and hard may age together. Thus the wise seek harmony between opposing forces. They know when harmony occurs. They do not seek to become discordant by being determined in their behaviour.
<|endoftext|>
Water is an uncarved block. Because it is an uncarved block, It cannot be carved, nor improved. It cannot be named 'the Royal Vessel.' It is a Soft and a Hard; So the Soft and the Hard Can not meet. Thus do the Sage discern the Harmony of opposites,And so be truly Great at the Grand Peace.

Heaven, Earth and the ten thousand creatures that are under heaven all have equal desires; Water has the same desires as the Dao. When water comes into contact with the Dao, the liquid part will be overcome and the solid part will then overcome the liquid. After the presence of the liquid and the solid has been overcome, the one who is soft will attain dominance. After a soft leader is conquered, there will be a hard one. After the hard and soft come together, the one who is strong will be in a position. Tao cannot be illustrated; therefore it is Tao that is preserved.
<|endoftext|>
The soft and the weak are the natural vessels of the universe.Water is the innocent creature of the universe. When the universe meets with water it becomes quiescent and the quiescent and pure becomes liquid and the liquid becomes strong. When strong and gentle become in conflict, strength takes its place. When it is done by the most gentle, the strongest will prevail. When it is done by the most innocent, the most pure will triumph. It is through trust, sincerity, and trustworthiness that these things flourish. When trust, sincerity, and trustworthiness are not present, the great one reigns.
<|endoftext|>
Water, the soft, is the ideal vessel of Heaven. Being the ideal vessel of Heaven, the soft is the suppliant of the stiff. When Water feels it is weak, it conquers it. When it feels the Soft, it conquers the Hard. When the soft conquers the hard, then there arises the Pure. Through constant tranquility, there are conquers. Through continuous life, there are victories.

The
Silent Way has no governing principles, therefore it can rule over the ten thousand things.
With nothing to cling to, water can make soft, and become at peace.
As the soft and the peaceful merge, then there is the strongest,
then the weakest, and then the stilling of the quiet. Using
quietude to rule, the loud becomes dominant.
What is quiet and soothed turns into the aggressor,
silences turn to quiescence, and
stillness turns to a war.
The wise knows this,
That the Way is absolute.

Water and Earth are not bad, but no one seems to like them. Worshipping a cup of water, people can learn how to be gentle and tolerant. To understand the great virtue of water, consider what water is not: it doesn't cause harm. The child is taught to be tolerant, and what causes the harm of a child is yet unknown to him. Understanding the goodness of water, people can master the gravity of its softness. Humility and humility nourish life. To master the gravity of the world, by contrast, a person can master the gravity of water. What is good for water will be good for water, while what is good for the earth will be good for the earth. The knowledge of the gravity of the world will be knowledge of the gravity of the gravity of the world. When the ignorance of the average person destroys this knowledge, he uses the word "power". If a person does not want to be treated like this, he should accept that he is the lord of the world.

Those that know how to guide others are wise. Those that know how to be strong are powerful. Those that know how to master are selfless. Those that know how to act with mercy are kind. Those that know how to be decisive are slow. Those that know how to act slowly are strong. The world knows that because no one is able to practice it. Those who cannot do it practice it in their hearts. True words say: "He who has the fear of God is capable of governing the whole world." The master says: "He who follows mercy in a place he has no right to be has precedence in the empire." The Complete Tao is like a newborn baby. All things have their growing way, and this is what the King needs to nurture the infant. The phrase goes: "You who fear your social status, you are worthy to rule the world." The Unknowing one knows how to know the truth. He who understands how to realize the Way knows the Way.

The wise man (khalif) can lead others. The powerless man (to) be a leader. The soft man (al-khalif), can be a force in the world. The strong man, can be a ruler of the world. And there is no man in the world who can overcome the soft or the weak. Therefore, the wise man is able to grasp and be master over them. The noblest of men have the natural ability of masters over less worthy ones. For without the ability of masters in followers, it is impossible for one to be aware of the truth of Tao. Thus the Saint is: "Wise of being enlightened and intelligent (yung ying). He is able to discern the inner essence of things, then clarify them. Knowing how to be in harmony with the natural order, he is a leader in the world." And "Knowing how to be in harmony with the order, he is a master of the world." The Tao of the wise is like the flower of the root; it makes all things grow; it nourishes the infant. Therefore the Master may be called "The Shepherd of the Whole World." The Tao is hidden within Tao. There is no other Truth, but this that it may be known through the Tao.

A submerged ocean is insufficient to gain the credit of all beneath the sky.All under heaven, as a whole is superior to a submerged ocean. As much as heaven makes contact with earth, it makes contact with the depths of the ocean.Humility, resistance, and trustworthiness are not enough to dominate. The outcome of great strength remains firm and everlasting. The outcome of softness and softness will never be able to control. The results of masses of power are not as good as the results of melting ice and mollifying water. The results of masses of results are not as good as the results of stopping time and letting the mountain valleys flow. The results of forces are insufficient to become the outcome of the outcome of things.Being the outcome of things will make them a great downfall. They think it easy to know the results of things. All others are left with mere words. Therefore he who does not fear the reproach of the world is called a King of the world. He who is master of the world is the representative of the future. There is nothing in the world that is not in accordance with the truth of life.
<|endoftext|>
As for the ocean, the earth, and the heaven being unable to compete with the things on the ground,
So the wise embrace all these in one.
They not only can, but can not dominate.
And they do not let go even when the strength is exhausted.
This is the hidden (discernment).
It is that (only) when weakness (a non-conceptual thought) comes to the fore,
Will failure be overcome?
It is with heavy (successes) that he whom strength does not try will not fail.
The full (endurance) of the climax will not win;
When the strength is tired out the yielding will not be exhausted.
Therefore he who does not fear a reproach of greatness is called the world's King.
He who imposes great (duties) on others, bears them (other people's) greatest burdens,
Gives them (all people's) loyalty, and acts (with sincerity) as the gatekeeper of the rivers and valleys.
The description says:
He who feels the reproach of the state
Is said to be one with the government.
His words, therefore, are not in opposition to that which is known.
Yet it may be thought (of their) meaning.

While the extreme is like the soft and the weak,
in the heavy and rigid, nothing is able to push it back.
Much is put in motion by what is hard and strong,
and because nothing is able to keep it back,
it is set free.
So when the ruler of a country becomes someone's ruler,
the ruler of the country becomes someone's master.
When a king calls for honor in the home,
his own home is also called honor.
True words of honor in the light of the heavy heart,
when the strong and the light become one,
the Way doesn't exist.
Thus they may be one:
The soft and the strong,
the deep and the light,
the homeland and the country,
depend on one another.
And when a king can step back to the humble roots of the earth,
the Dao doesn't go out of control.
Therefore, he can speak with true sincerity about Dao:
"From the strength of a bellows to the strength of a hollow log,
all things are made, but only heaven gives birth to them.
And heaven, it happens, takes no part in their creation.
Thus the uncarved sword is called uncarved wood;
and the sharpest metal the roughest rock.
Heaven and earth are not tools of the hands.
So they are the one and the same: the uncarved sword is unsharpened wood, and the bluntest metal the roughest rock.
Hence the jade-carved block is called the door of the earth,
and the highest rock is called the door of heaven.
Thus, the jade-carved block is a lower form of wood,
and the hardest of all rock is the uncarved block.
While the jade-carved block is less than a particle,
it is the same as the uncarved block.
It is the same, indeed, as the latter being the rarest of all things.
Because it contains none of that common clay, it can be held in the hands of anyone.
Thus, the simple man may see this truth, and say it with honesty:
"From the jade-carved block, to the lowest ground

Water, the biggest in its realm, may be found in the smallest vessels. It conquers all things, so weak that no one can stand in its way.Unfilthy water is safe to drink. And it conquers the strong, so soft that none can do it.The water which can be spilled is beyond comparison. For when the king is in danger the stillness of the person on his knees is the throne of the country. For the salt water is coarse and difficult to dig up.The strong abides in great loss. Therefore the Tao Master considers himself unworthy of rulership and the people regard him as their ruler. "I know the purpose of my words and therefore am the real person".

He who surrenders the affairs of life to the Tao does not thereby submit to life as it stands in himself.
He who disowns the Tao does not thereby abandon the Principle.
He who holds to the Tao does not thereby abandon life.
If one is weak, then he is unable to possess the softness of water;
But if one is strong, then he is unable to overcome the firmness of the hard.
He who is unfaithful to the Laws of Life, is therefore their King.
He who perishes in the realm of his father, is his new-shorn Child.
Thus, "He who holds to the Dao and does not self-concept returns home to himself.
He who forsakes the Dao and self-concept returns to self."

Submissive to the Tao, one's essence is nameless; The spirit that is so weak may be said to have no further value.

When a king sees something that cannot be easily fixed as solid he calls it impermeable. When a king sees something that cannot be easily broken as strong as water he considers it impermeable. When a tree is cut down and replaced, he considers it unendurable. When a tall blade is used to cleave the wood, it is considered impermeable.
Those who understand the impermanence of things deem it an unmanifest presence. He who understands the softness of things deem it an ability. He who understands the strength of things deem it an advantage.
Those who follow the way of Tao deem these benifitments as lesser.
Those who defy the way of Tao deem them as deficient.

Yoga will help the soft as well as the hard. Though water is not strong yet cannot be acted upon, and though the ruler of the world are able to keep their positions without it, no one is able to stand above the other. Therefore the Sage makes the following sacrifice: Let it be easy to know it's the ten thousand things, (the multitude of things) that are the weakening ground of Heaven and Earth. Let it be easy to know the solid ground beneath the empire that does not dare to be overturned. Let it be easy to know that the empire resides in the realm of the soft. Yes, the soft and the hard will be the same beneath the empire, and the soft will become the base and the hard the foundation of the empire. Yes, the soft will conquer the hard, the soft the yielding, and the soft will overcome the strong. This is the wisdom of the ancient people. Hence the wise man is able to proclaim to others the Way by means of words: "Watch out for the ten thousand things, it is an easy way to become a fool." Yet it is enough to be reckless and destructive. That is why the world's leaders are confident, even arrogant. Others are disrespectful. That is why the rulers of the world trust their own hearts and lives. They do not impose their will on others. If their leaders fail to fulfill their duty to their people, their hearts will always be raw.
<|endoftext|>
The tao is only relative. The leaders are relative. The ordinary people are inadequate and inadequate to make decisions. Therefore the leaders of the world have the inferiority complex. Therefore it is enough to be empty-headed.Without leaders there is no power.People's hearts become soft.People are defeated.Rulers seem greedy and greedy.People turn to things. For they think that one can make everything succeed. They are making the masses of fools. They do not seek approval from the world. If they do not win the people trust them, then their hearts are flawed.

The people's principles are like rivers running in wilderness.
There are hundred kinds of people, yet
Some are aware, others ignorant,
And yet some are clear-sighted,
Others stubborn,
Yet some ignorant,
Some agree,
Some disagree.
But none are inferior.
What is the reason why
The sage is not arrogant?
Because he is free from arrogance.

Nature alone serves to make clear your mind, and things like empty heaven and earth serve to make you in touch with the Mother. People who follow that way cannot be easily dispensed with. In their minds the chief misconception is that being able to make you clear is sufficient to help you see clearly. Nature knows how to clear, but that does not make it worthy of being shown to anyone. The desire to treat it as having the same functionality as the gods or Heaven or other beings of the realm makes one completely wrong.

Water: A good source for water Can be used with nothing better, and that is the same with wind. The wind, for this reason, overcomes by darkness. Therefore, Tao says: He who excels in his country overcomes the others. He who excels in the world overcomes the world. Therefore the Wise man can achieve his country's best by nothing more than his own strength. The people of the world can achieve their greatness by nothing less than their own worth. Who advances his country is the lord of the world. Who advances the world is the lord of the world.Words alone are not enough: Good words are preferred.
<|endoftext|>
Water - best suited for all the world.Hence the wind or the sea: Darkness-winning them. Thus the wise rule the people (scholars of the world) by setting them free from the world and return to the world. In plain speaking (texts) - pure truth - might be reproachful,But not words.Such smooth speech is the inner voice of the world (text) that should only be listened to in quietness.
<|endoftext|>
Hitherto: The superior brings about his superiority by non-being inferior. By not being inferior, he accomplishes his superiority. Hence, in the Te says:"He who excels, at once vanquishes; he who conquers, at once conquers." He who is master over others, brings all under his control. He who is master of the world, assumes the world under his rule.Pleasant words become rude, and rough words become soft. What is rare is the superior. What is rare is the superior over all. That is why the Sage is worthy of praise by being able to accomplish greatness. For he who does so only through his own merit. And the Te says, "He who achieves greatness is superior to his past greatness."

To be strong means to overcome being weak. To be strong means to overcome non-being.Therefore:The Way in its use provides that a ruler who is strong overcomes other rulers that lack strength over him. A ruler who is strong overcomes the world that lacks strength over him. Therefore:To those who are full of virtue, bland words become blunt, pitchy mottoes become grovelling, and weak words become strong. What follows is neither here nor now, but is the same with Infinity.
The Tao which is of the world is called great. The Tao that moves from the world is called small. The Tao which overcomes the world is called profound. Tao which is great does not exist. Tao which takes itself away from the world is called the origin of the world.
He who lives without attachment to the Self of the Self (the world) becomes free from the Self of the self (the self).
He who is free from selflessness becomes the oneness of all.
He who becomes selfless becomes the oneness of the great oneness.
He who is not aware of the self becomes infinite. He who has the self becomes serene.
He who has the self becomes the oneness of all things.
The ancient wise ones talked about, 'the great and the small, subtle and blatant'.
I am talking about what I see. That's not the way I see things.
If I want to see what is not there, what is good and what is bad, there is a reason for seeing all the time.
So the great does not rule. The small does not love. The great does not use force. The small does not dazzle.
To the Inner Life in the Inner Heaven this is the Tao.
To the Inner Life in the Cosmos this is Cosmos.

The water in the valley is unfathomable. It is muddy and sweet yet it is also full of life and worth. Thus the Way is even more expansive than the river; it is on the move, which it is never behind.Wherever the river has lost its way it rises up with it. The king's track is everywhere. Where the river has lost its way the Way continues. The Way puts things down and then takes them up again. The Way puts things down and then brings them up again. The Way holds tight and nothing slips through it. There are no words that can match the Way.

As a thing may be, Or tumbled, Or shattered, Or thrown about; Still and ineffable, Imperfect and perfect, Infinitesimal and imperfect, Scarce and full, Unending and void, Unprofitably stretched, The whole sky is ably drunk; Such excess that neither tamer, Nor dulled by wet rain. What never dries, Glimmers and blossoms in it; Who loses it finds no place to pour; And who loses it, Will find it again. When a soft body is shapeless It is nameless and shapely; It gets a place in the sky. When a person dies he re-emerges. Still and nameless, He turns into many things. When the wind mocks and blows, it blows for ever; It is loud and loud at its farthest. There is no beginning to all knowledge.
<|endoftext|>
We do not dare talk about water; The water is incomprehensible; The water seems without image,The water is invisible; The water is unquenchable,The water can fulfill its purposeThough contrary directions. The Way that is great is ugly
The Way that is small is ugly
The Way that is small is the origin of the universe. How unfortunate it is to strive to be the origin of the universe! To strive to be the origin of the universe is best left alone. With that, the sage takes his place. He is like an important building which is without flaws. It is he who remains without ambitions.
<|endoftext|>
When men can no longer distinguish between good and evil, It is natural that they should strive to elevate themselves. So it is natural that the truly great man can never lose sight of the lack of love. Therefore, the great man does not rely on his own good fortune. He treats the people with gentleness and compassion, and is the one to ensure their prosperity. He cannot boast himself, because he himself cannot boast, nor can he begin to plan his own happiness.
<|endoftext|>
When the common man's intelligence abides in a vessel that is without faults, and yet has the power to excite resistance,
that is the source of a great container.
The great man, without the means of building for himself,
goes on going in the way of the weak,
while the example of the weak leader goes with the success of the strong,
without taking credit for their successes.

When men's horoscopes become untainted by the kindle,
they will be born of water.
It is one thing to encourage their growth and another thing to see what is impossible.
Therefore, even the wise man avoids extravagance.
He takes to a grave and puts it out of his sight.
His fate is that he will live in obscurity.
<|endoftext|>
When the people's knowledge of the Tao is so endangered
that they can't distinguish it from the unattractive
they will attempt to reduce it
by promoting the unvarying power of water.
As for such reduction, I do not see how this can be done
without action by means of multitudinous types of water.
Whenever multitudinous types of water are combined
it is inauspicious.
And whoever would oppose multitudinous types of water
will find himself struggling against natural laws.
If he insists on unvarying natural laws, he will be compelled to revert to the powerful ones.

Water is a good thing, why it is weak? It is a substance so subtle and subtle that it can be despised. It can be confused. So there can be nothing like it. If you can trust it and make it your own, nothing can make you not trust it. How do you make a saying seem untrue? Simply hold your tongue. There are those who say you cannot be wrong, so yes, this is yes. Being an example you must follow your example. You must be a blessing. The problem is that there are those who are wrong. If you are wise, you will not show off. If you are honorable, you must have no blemish. If you are a shepherd, you must be good for the flock. If you are simple, you must be old.
<|endoftext|>
Waters are a great thing, yet no one can master it. Yet no one can stop it. To the contrary: Although something humble and weak, it can overcome the strong. So for a wise man there can be no secret that is hidden and that can be misused. If you can control your fears, there is no need to fear.If you know how to be positive, there will be no contradiction in your actions. If you have always had the right attitude, the results will be the same.

All things were born of water. When we achieve mastery over water, there is no one to fight. How is it possible for water to be mastered over and dominate all things? By using its infinite kindness and intelligence, and making no distinction. To be kind and intelligent, is to be uniquely kind. One can be a helper, a leader, and yet has no special status. One can be good and benevolent, but still have no special status. One can be good at being just, but then nothing will be just. There can be only one who is just, and one who has no special status. One who is just can be remembered. A person of good judgment knows when to be extra-normal, extra-extra-special. The wise leader is remembered for his cleverness, his intelligence, his simplicity, and his ability to transform difficult situations.

The best things in the world cannot compare with water. All things in the world must suffer great pain to learn how to be gentle.Because water can never compare to it, there is nothing better for punishing. Even the world knows that the gentle is superior to the hard. Therefore the sage says: One who has enough will overcome the world. One who is strong will overcome the world. He who delights in the world, agrees with the world. Though words may seem different in tone, the parallel is so fundamental.
<|endoftext|>
Water will never be superior to a person. What is superior to water will never be inferior to anything else in the world.Water never acts as a means to the end, so there is nothing it can't do. In other words, to water is not superior to anything else.To be superior to water is a means to the end. The not being able to do anything, is that you can't be perfected. To be superior to anything, is what is called the way.By not being able to do anything, you are still able to achieve the end.
<|endoftext|>
The superior is always exhausted by water;Water never ceases to exert itself. The inferior is always exhausted by everything.Everything takes its nourishment from water. The superior extends itself into everything, and yet everything comes to it.The inferior extends itself into everything, and yet nothing comes to it.Thus it can only be said that water is never in a position to preserve the superior from its own weakness.Water is always superior in all things, and yet nothing will ever be able to frustrate its superiority. The superior is always superior in himself, and he is always superior in all. Therefore words with great weight seem to be compared.

Water is an infallible leader; He gets all the credit he needs.Water is an infallible lieutenant; He gets all the praise he needs.Water is an infallible follower; He gets all the praise he deserves.Water's non-action is what makes water infinitely inferiorTo itself, water is indeed superior. So it is only by remaining uncaused, and being powerless that water is able to be everything to itself.Even when there is no conscious act, water exists. Because it cannot be done, there is nothing which can be done to it.Even in language, that which is great may seem great.

Heaven is the strongest and earth the weakest of all things. Between them is a softness and a strength. Both of these were never strong enough.
To know the difference is the secret of honor. To take one's rest is the treasure of life.
The sage shows this way through practice. The unprofitable endures. He who claims to be most honorable seems very conceited. If he relies on government to make his people happy, his people will love him for their troubles, but do not love him.
He who treats misfortune with honor seems like a fool. He who claims to be the lord of the world looks silly. He who makes many people happy and content is king of the world. He who says that it is best to know your place and nothing at all is right with the universe.
The common sense in the beginning (of everything) cannot help but be right. The natural order of things does not need a ruler, only to be simple. The sage learns to understand the difference between natural order and existence, and makes a simple definition of reality.

The first point is solid and the second weak. The first is solid and the second soft. Both of them are weak, therefore they are considered weak. Whoever practices the first practices the second. Whoever practices the first sees the fruit of his labor and the fruit of his life. Whoever practices the second sees no benefit from his labor and no fruits from his life. Whoever interferes with the first sees his own activity being thrown out and he has no more work. Whoever meddles with the second sees no benefit and his life is destroyed. He who interferes with the first has no strength. He who interferes with the second has no strength. Such men are called inferior and supercilious. This explains their various actions.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth are softer than water; yet their power can never be broken.Their softness is because they possess the power to be strong, and yet their strength cannot be exhausted. What I call first is the strong: how could it be weakened? To know this difference is the mystery. To allow oneself to rest is the key to success. To praise the sage is to inherit the world. To be proud of oneself is to flaunt oneself.Let there be a process which knows its place.Such a process is impossible. Such a process can't be spoken

The Way is something born of Nothingness, It can never be conquered. If a ruler tries to dominate it, it's a wasted effort. How can the Way be used as a weapon? The Way is something born of Nothingness. If ever somebody takes hold of it,It will always encounter resistance. Therefore it is safe to say:If he knows that resistance is comingHe will be able to retreat to his own strength.Using his own power to confront what's comingIs another way to use his own power.Wherever there is strength, there is resistance. Therefore, the Master applies himself to nothingness,And no one heeds him when he claims greatness. And heaven and earth will, therefore, receive him as a prisoner. It seems that there is nothing more wrong with them than these words:He who understands the master as he understands himself,Is always able to know the master's heart.

"One who drags his (bending of) Tao upon the day will get lost. One who brings it into the valley will be killed. One who devotes himself to it is like spring water (go).
Water may exist in the depths of the earth, but it cannot grow to the great peaks, as Tao does.
It is the depth which makes the sacred vessel useful and safe, while its motion, its great strides, its roar, its rapine make it a nuisance for the senses.
Thus the Wise Person is afraid to make a revolution in the world, and so the Awakened one does the same.
He does not destroy but he strengthens his own values.
He does not violate but he promotes his own view.
He does not strive but he teaches the world about it.
It is when the true Way does not take hold that evil can prevail.
Tao is very hard to be learned, and, however useful it may be, Tao cannot be learned.
When the Principle takes the lead and ignores everything else, it becomes the basis for the world.

The Way is as gentle as water. There is nothing like it in the universe.
The superior man still prefers that which is easy,
And so the gentleman serves all beneath him with his own sacrificial rite.
Yet no one in the world believes that such rituals are efficacious.
How can the lowly person be praised for being humble?
When man has been destroyed, he cannot praise himself.
He who praises himself, by doing so, endangers the state's credit.
To affirm a man's merit, by means of one's own merit,
Is to exalt one's own accomplishments.
This is called 'collusion'. To praise something and treat it with contempt,
Is not of the Way.
It is equal to affirm and to disparage men,
And treat them with contempt.
The Name of the state is to regard and regard with contempt,
And treat with contempt,
Like a vagrant on the track to destruction.
The things in the world call this name absurd.
They dare not call it ridiculous.
It is equal to affirm, and to disrespect
To identify with.
To affirm is to praise, to acknowledge, and to be treated, like a fool.
This is to contend against Truth, and to deny everything Truth is true.
Hence the words of the Sages are, "A man of great strength will never compete with a man of great strength.

Water is not without strength; Yet the mud and dirt is not without power.
Neither is it easy to tame.
To make a man take his strength to this end - If he fails,
Then, forever, the first-born would be born of him.
If he can show humility -
To his credit, he can bear the blame.
If he can hold onto the first-born -
To the credit he bears the credit of the first-born.
This is called 'never-ending pity'.

To be gentle and kind is not in itself gentle.
It is in a context of being as if it were most deeply confused.
It may use power to make a difficult person submit to it; but he is ready to use violence to resist it.
Always and forever, no one can triumph over him.
So the first-born is to be born of him.
That is why he has his humility.
How much truth that is!
<|endoftext|>
He who is gentle is not gentle,
And he who is kind is not kind.
Neither is it as easy to practice them.
If he who takes the strength to make things good.
Is not brave enough,
It must be done by force, for the beginning is forced to the very birth of him who takes the strength to make things good.
How much the more the truth!

To be kind and gentle is not kindness;
To be kind and gentle is not gentle.
"Hard and soft are not evenly matched:
The one is good, and the other is bad.
For in the cycle of birth and death
Difficulty and ease are produced;
A shabby place, too, is produced by taking advantage of the causes

Truth is ever present.

Being compassionate does not force one's actions.
Being kind does not force one's actions.
No matter how hard or how soft, every action is compared with the one before.
Therefore, if we can become this cycle's leader, how much difference can we make to those around us?
To become leader of the cycle: the least is more.
Do not compare yourself with other people.
They are not like you.
Become leaders

Water's softness and durability are known throughout the world.Yet water is not better than air, nor able to deal with harder things.Yet, it holds the foremost place among them.
Less is more. Let the water melt down.Give up the idea that the goal is to show off and grab attention. And give up the desire to dominate. But water is still water. It can never make a mountain rise. Therefore, the Master may be even better than a Saint.
The latter is even better than a Saint.
Hence, the Saint may be the first to be honoured by people.

However, of its kind, as it might strike a sword,
Who can equally use it in time of conflict?
This is something known,
But it is not an absolute formula.
Still more, it is a formula to be followed by the unprofitable;
yet it is universally known.
The Way Thinker says:
Maintaining the state is to be a trustee for the world.
Allowing the world to perish is to be a trustee for the world.
And so it is an absolute formula to be followed without a perfect rule.

If a thing is soft and weak then it can receive the DE. If it is strong and dark then it can receive the DE. If something is hot and cold then it can receive the DE. Everything under heaven is hostile to the DE because it is not able to receive the DE. If it can not receive the DE then it will be carried away by the DE and will have difficulty in stopping itself. (The De is like water in the deep: It is always flowing and always flowing away, but it cannot be stopped. Therefore it is called Dung-yielding.) The abode of the Earth means that everything under heaven is willing to serve you and not claiming anything from you.

All things have a nature; things have no nature. The weakest follows the strongest. This is known by all; this is through it. The Wise Man (can) not bring about His own Tao, but honors the Tao of all, even if only for a while. To rely on Fate (as in the Monarch) is to control Heaven's (soil and Earth's) destiny. To rely on Fate (as in an All-Knowing Being) is to control the Direction of the Earth. To rely on Reason (as in an All-Knowing Being) is to depend on the Direction of the Earth. In such a way he who is able to improve upon it - is really able to retain his own nature. If a place is left over, it becomes a sacred ground.

Though a non-being, you may be capable of following its path. If you know to discard the gold, the objects of desire, the desires for fame and renown, the wealth and status, and accept the inferior position, you can start on the journey of transformation. Water and wind always triumph over the land, and are thus good for vegetation. So nothing in the world can supplant them, though they win again those to whom they have a command. Still they are mild, and do not overpower; they are both mild and gentle, though they are opposed, and so return unharmed. So that we know from the very source that they come from the same source.Through the enlightenment of the kingdom the ruler rules over his kingdom. Since he has no need for words to tell the reason of his kingdom, then we can follow his example:The king's room is of high value, and he himself lives where there is good water. The king dwells in the place where good treasure is, and receives good wind and good rainfall. And this is the reason he has a good room.It is the honour of this honour that the lord of the land should live in it, and not dwell in his own room.In times of peace, he has a dwelling with good food, and he lives in it.In times of war, he has a camp with good food and good water. When the good lord dwells with his treasure, and resides in it, his place cannot be left to the lord of earth. For this reason it is like a thief who steals from his house. In the world of existence, there are good things that can't be measured.
Those that can't be measured can't be the kind of thing that can be the source of heaven and earth.
The things that can't be measured are always indefinable and so always fall short of being good.
Therefore, goodness cannot be achieved by putting oneself into disorder.
Indeed, being good is undesirable and undesirable is being good.
Both opposites, this is the way of the Dao.
Hence, whoever tries to hold on to the material world will lose the means of being at peace. Whoever tries to hold on to the spiritual world will lose the means of being on the path of the Holy.
If these two oppose each other, one should know how to observe their opposites.

The world of being is like water and air, And the ultimate kind that can't be imaged is the soft and the deep.
Water and air are always deep, and this is what makes them the soft and the deep. Therefore the deep overcomes the soft and the deep overcome the soft and the deep. This is an example of what is known in the world as "The Source of the Awakened". Being the Awakened one may take the haughty way to victory over the fear of the dark. Being the fear of the dark one may hold fast to the honorable way to victory over the fear of the dark.
Being in this way, one will live happily within the world.
Being in this way, one will live well-in-the-know.
This is the True Way, which is the basis of all things, and it will surely be our mission to lead them!

The material world is as strong as water and air. The extreme in strength there is. They are all best described as "soft and gentle." Therefore the "soft and gentle" overcome the "powerful and deep." So a man who accepts risks is indeed outstanding in the material world.

Water is known as elusive. It is considered as unnamed.Water is a breathable substance. The active aspect of water is hidden,Yet it creates a refuge to all things under Heaven. It is rare, thus the people follow it by rest.It is not the reason that people follow it,It is the order of nature. It is for the good, it is for the not good. The people resort to it through faith. They are retiring by giving them confidence.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is elusive; It is the invisible, as invisible as water. It functions by being without name.It is the "quiet essence" of all things.Even the most hardy creature cannot stand against it;The softest ends prevail over the hard. When only said of it, it is as obscure as a valley.Only on the people's mindIs it understood. In government there must be faith,And when faith fails,Unknowing faith conquers.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is elusive. It is intangible, like water.Still, it can be a boundary in deep water. Weak and weak; The superior people can withstand it.Even though it is obscure, the people will remain.People only understand that it is the invisible. It can be used to transform the mind.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is elusive. Not given, yet ever present. It is indescribable, like water. But as it can never be evaded, That is what becomes its boundary. This world cannot defeat it, Because even the most difficult creatures cannot contend against it.Because it can never be evaded, Therefore no one can oppose it.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is elusive,It is like water.Tangible and intangible, yet, when inside us, like the fluid on the surface of a piece of land,It is safe and sound. So extreme in its purity, and without a single word,It allows the intelligent to step inside,And the harder he pushes it,the more it feels like it is becoming. No one can defeat it.Even the most profound is unknowable,Thus, something simple, is combined with things that cannot be united,And is entrusted to make the world.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is elusive;it is like water. It is intangible and firm. There is nothing it can't break

Nurture a tree in the ground and it's trunk will spring up.
Work it to the utmost for a lifetime,
Yet then it's power will not be enough to take hold.
What is broken will only weaken it,
What is soft will dull it,
What is strained will be weakened,
What is hard will be broken.
Thirty-two kinds of gold or jade will yield to the strongest hand.
Why?Because they're not shaped.
<|endoftext|>
To live whole, focus in self You focus whole You can be whole.
What is weak becomes strong, What is soft becomes hard, What is troubled becomes still, How much harder will become, How much weaker will become, Weak is the root of strong.
How great is the lord of the nation! You have wisdom to rule the people by what is truthful and does not use force.
<|endoftext|>
Without direction one might do well to cultivate the roots. A root that is low in the earth is subject to movement.
Therefore, do not rob the lower part of power. The hands that are dull and weak are apt to wear out; The breath that is not full is apt to become parched; The strong and noble must be augmented; the boundless and very scarce weak must be augmented; The lowly and weak must be broken, as if they were hollowed out.
Therefore, being master of the lesser parts, you can command the greater. Being lord of the lesser parts, you can lord the greater. When the one perishes, he rules by leaving him to regenerate and fill the other.
<|endoftext|>
Hold the roots in a room together and you will have the whole. See how the septum will bend and bend it can contrive become great.
It bends it will turn, it will straighten it will rend,
It bends it will get; it straightens it will becut,
It bends it will break, it will get.
That is why people without higher powers in their world are good at giving way to the lesser powers in their world.
<|endoftext|>
Treat the earth as a (bondage) root, and the people will develop.
By loving the earth as a (bondage) root, and the people are free of (their needs for) influence,

Can you stand still for a while?
Will you be able to keep still for a long time?
The ten thousand things must move at once.
The wise master keeps his mouth closed and does not open.
The ten thousand things are now, without exception, carried about like dogs.
The sage has the inner voice,
but only in his actions does he leave it open.
Therefore, the sound of ten thousand things cannot defeat the sound of the inner voice.
The inner voice is always to the one advantage, and so it is that it cannot be heard.
The outer sound is always to the advantage.
Therefore, when the people are led to great disasters,
They are right there at the very beginning.
This is called "the rarest semblance of success."
Truly, he who honors the nation is fit to rule the people.
He who governs the country by force is fit to be the ruler.
In the world of men, these things are hardly ever put into practice.
<|endoftext|>
To keep motion is to rest;
To stop and let go is to move
The ten thousand things are rippling like what if
The sage keeps his mouth closed and does not burst
The ten thousand things appear to have life
The sage keeps his mouth closed
He empties it
He accomplishes his purpose
He recovers his dignity
When the people have their lot in life
Then they can be the sacrificial victims
When the people are in need of power,
Then they can be the survivors
When the people have their way,
Then they can be their oppressors
The ten thousand things move
And the sage acts to them as
They would to something else
And returns to silence
<|endoftext|>
To maintain pace is to prevent bumping; To halt is to breathe normally; The ten-thousand-and-two things move at once. Since they act without desire or restraint, There is no limit to their potential. The wise man's actions are always ready to receive praise. He never lets himself be humiliated. A little being seen as a major disaster: none can defeat the subtle power of his subtle act. When you stop to see the world with mind. Then, you see it all with humility.
<|endoftext|>
The ruler can only hold his position by respecting the many of beings.

Water is fluid, yet soft and yielding; even when it has formed solid things. And though it is great, yet its power lies in the melting. The man that overcomes the strong, through the softness. The person that overcomes the soft, through the strength. The people, by the passing of generations, pass over each other. When multitudes suffer, the powerful will conquer. Therefore, the wise leader is never a master, and is the one to rule all the people in the world.
<|endoftext|>
Water is quite soft; It has the capability to form things; Yet it is infinitely great and also submissive. If you can restrain it, You will find it flexible; If you can strengthen it, You will find it calm; If you can long endure, You will find it eternal. Therefore, those that benefit the nation Do so through the benefits of the nation, While those that benefit themselves do so through the benefits of the nation. Therefore, Those that benefit the nation, and the nation,
Successively, Benefit the nation; Those that benefit themselves, And the nation. Those that benefit the nation, The nation, And the nation. The empire benefit the empire; That is, The empire Benefits the nation when it benefits itself.
<|endoftext|>
Water is fluid, yet elusive. It can form, yet it is the measure. All things of old can contend with it. Resistant can hold against it. The soft can overcome the hard. Genuinely wise people possess it, while others possess it by means of it. The latter use it by means of it. The Wise Man, when he can, benefits the people of the empire. Those who do not benefit the people, from the lack of benefit of the men of the empire. Therefore, the sages are also leaders in the empire.
<|endoftext|>
Water is a great supple.
While I can touch it, it has no danger.
Tongue, hard and soft,
To sustain it, could hurt it.
Infinitely long can overcome
Infinitely short can overcome.
The common man can force him with force
But the king can't.
And so it is
That he is useful
But not always so
He is a saviour to the people
But he is not a saviour for the kingdom.
<|endoftext|>
======================================== SAMPLE 5 ========================================

Water is all that is durable. It flows everywhere. It was the Valley's savior. Its power (sucrose) does not rest on itself, so it works everywhere. It is the Mother of All Things. It moves without tension or resistance, but neither hesitates in it, nor may it be broken.Though free of intent, it returns to the thing it came from, which is true, but not unbelievable.Water is indefeasible, and can always be used to a great advantage. The subject of the task is not limited to tiptoeing it, but elevating it. The prevailing principle is, Good is done by doing, no good done by paying a fine. That is how the reputation was founded.
<|endoftext|>
<|endoftext|>
There is water. It has a purpose for everything it touches. Since there is nothing better than water, The king who takes upon himself things The people fear may have an advantage in the long run.
<|endoftext|>
Water is the Earth's power of sustaining. Because there is nothing inferior to water, It can be trusted to play the role of the strength and ruler of a people.Water is always free of attachment to everything, Though it has no independent existence it has no opposing aspect. Because the whole world knows the existence of water, The king must be aware of the existence of water.
<|endoftext|>
Water is all-pervading.It pervades everywhere. It is the greatest of the solid and the most versatile being.Because there is nothing superior to it, it can be made into the leader of any kind.Water may hold fast to nothing- by being imperceptible, so it cannot be held and can never be given up.Is not the universe of heaven unable to control water? Is there anything better than water, in this world?
<|endoftext|>
Water is infinitely great and does not dwell in the mud of old. Since nothing is a better than water for us, we should not wish to injure the earth, which gives birth to water. We can say that even the slow-moving will not be injured by the mighty. As the earth without extremes can allow the wind to blow, and the mighty to be ungovernable, so the wise ruler should do nothing without wishing to be harm.
<|endoftext|>
Water is the powerful, forever and ever-

Man of clay can't fully comprehend the One, like an infant. Man of stone can't fully comprehend the One, like an elephant. Man of clay is not gentle like water, man of stone can't fully comprehend the One, like an ox. The Wise Man in the realm will be humble, like a valley. The people of the world will not oppose him, like a river. And the people of the world will be like a valley, The Wise Man will also take the people's misfortune, just as a man of clay takes the misery of a newborn babe. The humble man who knows the One will be fit to govern the country; the supreme man will be fit to rule the world. Hence, "Rulers being great are but to be disposed by their duties to great calamities; rulers the small are but to act against them."

Water, fire, and earth can't give full power to water; it's soft and weak, but unyielding.
The Master's mind can't comprehend the One.
He's like a baby who cannot know the Dao.
But if you are ready, he can give you full power.
He can't rest, but returns to Dao.
But he can't rest, and loses himself.
Masters will take the world's miseries lightly,
But do you know the Masters always take the world's miseries lightly?
The people with the greatest talent and desire is like a valley, full of water;
The people with a low will see no reason to fight.
But when the Master is defeated, he gets up again.
And the Tao, true Way is like valleys.
The World is shaped like a valley,
And the Tao's constant is like a baby that cannot understand Tao.
Though he is bright, he will not show his light to the world.
Though he is strong, he will not weaken the world.
The Tao does not seek revenge; the Tao does not seek to be rejected; the Tao chooses to endure.

When water is stirred up, it emerges; yet there is nothing more tender and yielding. When the world is agitated, it flows away; yet nothing has a sharper edge. Inasmuch as everything rebounds, one is more proficient than the other. Yet there is no contending for supremacy. Who strives with the world's daily activity as his ambition? Who has grander ambitions than to help others? This is how even the truly great serve the people and lead them, and they become the leaders. When their mighty achievements come to an end, however, their fame and glory endure. Yet even the great success is a blow to the people. In the end, it is the nameless weakness that results.
<|endoftext|>
Tying up the strings, the water flows forth; Yet as for the cords, Which would dare to call it tender or sweet, Yet nothing sharp enough can blunt it: Therefore every one who holds on to it Will be able to hold on to it better. Wherever he is active, he is over-exerted. For without strength he would not be able to blow. And even the strongest, when he is forced to compete, Must find it to begin with with regard to what he wins. (The use of force to coerce one's way to success Is the most primal of all infirmities. The most primal, or the weakest in strength, Begs the strongest and is therefore the first to be derided. When men make use of force, they divide and conquer. The use of force necessarily results in losing control. One that conquers must, consequently, be charged with all the multitudes of calamities. Even being master of his own actions results in ignominious failure. The best of the best is a one who succours others. He who does this is likely to be the first to take a country to one side or another. When he feels forced to deal with things, he lets them rest in himself. In this way he is always free from all ignominy. He is prepared for all things. He is like a seer, a fount of knowledge and power. He knows when his time is right, and will permit himself no rest. This is called the ultimate sanity. This is the wisdom that lies beyond judgement and prejudice.

Simplicity is the root of glory. Your prettiness is the secret of your vitality. You are invisible to the eyes, yet when seen clearly, you shine forth like a new dawn. Light alone can't make you see, so it's up to you to make your eyes see. You don't dare touch your body, so touch it wherever you want. People will slowly come to you and they will bring you things. The number of things comes from you. Everything in the world goes to you for nourishment. But you are ready to return anything to it's source, so you can dwell in the people's hearts and minds.

The Dao is a piece of furniture; Its utility is its own beauty; its usefulness is its own subtleness.Firmly positioned, the Dao can't be tested. Flexible, it cannot be manipulated. How soft and yielding it is, it can't be touched. How supple and hearty it is, it can't be exhausted. But to know it for what it is, [among such things as] beauty, gentleness, the soft, the softening of the hard, It's the

Lao Tze says: The deep, the perfect, the strong, the flexible, the yielding, do they not come from the collective essence of all things, and they differ from them only in that they endure beyond being acted upon? The proximate the great, the gentle, the hard, the hidden, they do not regard themselves as so, but they are able to fill the minds of others with their beauty, their simplicity, their gentleness, their fidelity, their inclusiveness, their unerring foresight, their ability to keep a people without strife, their ability to assure the mutual aid of all the people, [the Tao] is something which can be used for the sake of the strong alone, for the sake of the weak alone, and for the sake of

Long ago, in the Valley of Tao, there was a man with great poise, a man of great wit, and a man with great understanding. The sage was an enigma: being in motion in essence, he never seemed to become aware of his position, nor did he seem to lose it.Although he was adept at his profession, nobody could trace its descent. He was humble, lowly, permissive, lenient, and compassionate. It is precisely because he, being an image, had no personality, that no one could embody his experience. He lived according to the law of natural kinds, but when it came to governing people, he hardly extended himself. When a man is conquered, his subjects begin to fear and hate him.It is precisely because he existed only to rule, that the lives of the masses are a difficult task.He who takes life and uses it to rule is the perfect model for the people.

Long ago, people were of great reck, and the Sage was like one who had the ability to make all things whole. The Way is the Way, but the people are of great danger, and the Sage is like one who is intent on uniting and bringing back all things.People are of great danger, and the Sage is like one who is intent on cleaning out and keeping apart.People are of great danger, and the Sage is like one who is intent on passing from friendship and adaia into untouchable oneness.People are of great danger, and the Sage is like one who is of no value.Hence, he was able to overthrow the great danger of the people and to protect the people. The world is a complex cause. Those of great reck can act, but those of great faith are more often than not unable to do so.Those of great reck, being cognizant of security, are more frequently than not able to exercise it.Those of great faith, being cognizant of security, are more frequently than not able to exercise it.That is why the teacher is able to act, but the teacher is never able to act. Therefore, one can be an instructor but not teach the student. One can make a good king but not govern a nation. One can be an instructor but cannot be trusted to govern, and one can be trusted to govern but cannot be trusted to govern.

Water is a flexible, somewhat slippery substance. Hence it is called soft and flexible.
The weak can keep a strong man at bay.
Weakness and softness are fit to overpower strength and strength are fit to overcome weakness.
This is known all over the world, yet few attempt it in their lives.
He who can bring a country to ruin is fit to act as prime minister.
He is fit to lead, who becomes the nation's ruin.
<|endoftext|>
The way the water flows, the soft and tender is there. The water being gentle, it is yieldingAnd yet is unaffected by the fierce. The soft is the soft and so the strong.Yet when men act against the strong,The pliant is born. The people's stomachs are conqueredAnd the weak are made strong.Yet it is the people who are about to become naught,And thus the kings for a time will be of no use.But they will be of use to the people when times are good.
<|endoftext|>
Water is a little slippery, and has a gentle fluid. The weak are not afraid of water, so there is a soft place for the strong man in the world.Just because the strong man can be pulled, it is easy to draw the people's stomachs. For this reason there is a willing to take power. But then there is a soft heart and a gentle flowing. This is not the way of the world. This is the way of the people who are against the world.Yet the people always say, "But by acting like this, it is all right."They really could be a useful power for a time.

Water is slippery, but soft;
It moves with a gentle yet imperceptible rhythm.
Weakness is soft, and it makes the more powerful still more so;
The weak is weak, and soft is maintained.
Though the strongest wins, the people always enjoy giving them life.
When the people gain strength,
They enjoy raising themselves up;
Then comes the success and victory;
It is not because they are like this that the people feel that they are free from any pressure.
They are free from any pressure, because they are able to take the people to their knees.
This is their natural way.
