======================================== SAMPLE 1 ========================================

The Way, like the sky, is wreathed with shadows but never appears as if discoloured. It seems to radiate light without darkness. Infinite yet all imperceptible. Empty yet it has no limits. Idly without recognition; Invisible without form; Unidentified without relation. It is mystery without form, of the utmost mystery. This is the nature of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The Light-bird, in its sway over the World is always covered with clouds of shadows; Yet none seems to pass beneath them, They are always luminous; they move ever; And yet they have no limit. They cannot be named, and yet are invisible to the eye. Unfathomable, unchanging! They are the Laws of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
There is a Way, the sky, that ever-shifting over all things.Light dims noiselessly, dims not: it never becomes like that.It cannot be named: it is like that.It is of itself without a name, it always returns.
<|endoftext|>
The formless Way, which spreads in the vast world of all creatures,Is always shielded by a veil of shadow. And yet it never shies away from approaching them.It is always without shape, always without form;It always returns to itself and does not change.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the sky of the ten directions. The Way has no name.Yet it appears to us to be just.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is like the luminous heaven of nature. The Light keeps itself on all four sides.
<|endoftext|>
The way is the sky of the world, like the shining space of the heavens. Therefore, it is always on the level and blameless, without a name, without a form, without a name!
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the sky of the world. If we can observe its motion without distortion,And can recognize it for what it is without naming it, Then we can know its nature.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is the sky of the world. It always moves without losing sight of its Source, and thus its behaviour cannot be recognized.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is the sky of the world,By constantly turning, no shade appears.

There are those that keep to non-action.They have harmony in their actionsAnd are therefore in accord with their oneness with all. They maintain an attitude of non-assertionBecause they recognize the subtle and profoundPaths to understanding. They retain an attitude of benevolenceBecause they recognize the accidental and the profoundOne deep within has come out.It can be seen that even though the sages did not know all there is to know, they know that this is the key to all knownness. And yet they see that this is only the beginning of wisdom. It is because they know the beginning of wisdomThat they do not delve in deep knowledge of names. He who has profited cannot know the end.He who does not know the end may perhaps learn the beginning. But he who chooses the method of caution never knows the end,And therefore does not endure.
<|endoftext|>
Be aware of action!Be aware of non-action.Yet the manifestation of your essence is always in harmony with the all-embracing.This is the Unchanging that completes the entire Manifestation.Be aware of benevolence!Be aware of the generous! The complete manifestation of your essence always has harmony with the One-Still.Be aware of propriety!Be aware of the other! It is even in the eternal return of the emergence of a constant All-Moving.This is the true knowing-how to know this complete Manifestation.Only through knowing this complete Manifestation does the seeker of knowledge find the path. Only through knowing this complete Manifestation does the seeker of knowledge trust and preserve the legacy of their completed Manifestation.
<|endoftext|>
These are those who abide by action,And abide in harmony with the One.Heaven is in harmony with them;Heaven takes them as "Love"Hence their sacrifice is all-pervasive.Heaven is in harmony with them and regards them with affection;Heaven believes them to be his children,And is the one who gives life to them. They alone know they are the true and the false.Only in knowledge of the One can they know the true. This is enough to know the true; They need not know the true; Thus they can know the end.But no one can know the end,For when he knows the end, he is not deceived.

The good man does not use those virtues that are found in the world.Instead he becomes the origin of them. The bad man is something of an end in himself. The superior man practices indifference. The inferior man loves to stir up trouble. The high level man is inauspicious. The lowly man is naive. The self-cherishing man is inauspicious. The constant self-cherishing man is depressed. The constant self-cherishing man's dissatisfaction is felt. The master does not expect from himself. Therefore he is happy, contented, free of want. Therefore he does not need anyone else.

Beside them that we cannot seeThe next best is thus:The following is not:Know that he that knows notWill not be transformedThough he are nothing that we cannot see.Since he is nothing we cannot seeHe will change into nothing againIf we could observe him not he would be so clearly distinguishableWhy do we insist on seeing him as we see our fellows and say, 'Not so real'?Therefore do we say: 'We cannot see him as we see our fellows.'What is it that makes us so distinguished? We know that he who loves is an object of distrustWherefore we say, 'Who loves as he regards others falls under suspicion.'Is it not because he regards others is not betrayed?Because we do not trust men will their trust not be shaken.
<|endoftext|>
Having come to know good there is it that those who follow him do not deviate.Thereby it is that he becomes known,Which follows its proper cause.Coming to know good there is it that he turns not away from it.Although it appears to him to be unrecognizable it is really that which remains unrecognizable,What is being obscured by it.It only remains unrecognizable because of its being in opposition to itself. What is being obscured by it is that which becomes confused. With confusion comes disaster.Having disaster comes the embracing of his disaster. What is the proper object of what follows disaster, what is its initiation, how can one who knows this?No other object than he himself. Therefore he does not need to rely on it, and through it it lasts.

Hence, the originator of the Tao is subtle, gentle and simple,Still comprehending all mystery. Thus, it will not make a fuss about something. He won't cling to self-interest.Hence, he doesn't go around spoiling other people's works. He is one with All-Power, and thus not divergent from it. Whenever the rulers and all around people desire life in fulfillment of the Way, they hardly understand it. They look like profiteers with more wealth than they deserve Therefore, the learned people say that they wish the Way better fulfilled. The foolish people say that It could be better fulfilled. The wise people say that The one who can follow the The nature, will come to live in the Way.
<|endoftext|>
Those who do not understand the Way,
In their ignorance want to embrace it.
Those who do understand the Way,
Their lack of understanding cannot be overcome.
Therefore the wise said,
<|endoftext|>
Those who are overcome by the Tao do not know its roots.
Those who push the Tao do not grasp its nature.
Those who have grasped it know that they do not know it.
Therefore, the wise said,
"Those who seek the Tao do not know its roots."
Those who seek the Tao do not know its nature.
Those who have known it know that they do not know it.
Thus, these ones do not go astray.
Therefore, they go astray.
This goes for those who abandon the Tao.
How do they do it?
Because they do not cling to the Tao.
They stay put and do not stray away from their own nature.
Thus, they do not destroy themselves.
<|endoftext|>
Those who cannot come to the Tao on the Way's own will:
See all forms as their own All the way on its own Way -- The name that it has given will be the Way too.
Those who do not see this way cannot get to the Tao:
The Tao is what brings them there.
That which they can get to the Tao:
It's the nature of all things that it flows naturally from their mouths
As energy in a valley under Heaven.
This nature. As well, it flows differently in people:

It is better to know than to make known.
Whoever knows the things will disappear.
Whoever makes a big thing existing will not be in control.
Whoever endows things will not be able to be the supreme.
And having the supreme one manifests its universal character.
If this is not observed, it is known by wu-wei.
He who knows the knowing-edge will be unaffected by the knowledge-edge.
He who knows the non-knowing will be unaffected by the non-knowledge.
He who does not accept non-existence will be able to understand existence.
He who accepts existence will not be lost.

We have to know what is in order to understand what is not.
If we have to know, we will give a false form to our opinions.
If we have to know the substance of things we will not be the first to grasp the mysteries.
If we are first, then the Tao will be always before us.
Without comprehending Tao we are luminous and invincible.
Without comprehending the Tao, we are dark and bereft.
Without comprehending the light we lose our light.
Without comprehending the loss, we forget the loss.
He who is able to exist without possessing knowledge will not go astray.
Who is able to experience life without having an adequate knowledge will not suffer.
Who is able to experience the Tao without knowing Tao will not stumble upon Tao.

We have to know so we can be.
We have to be conscious so we can be.
If we were aware we would fade away.
If we were conscious we would be without a self.
And so being without a self we have a self.
If we had self we would never be at peace.
If we were at peace we would not die
Without being aware of what we are
We are luminous and enlightened.
Without being enlightened we are dark and depraved.
Without being dark we are unreal.
Without being unreal we would not be true.
We who have true reality are luminous and
enlightened.
We who have no true reality
are as ignorant as we are depraved.
And being ignorant we can only go astray.

Favor is something that is difficult to keep, but which brings with it good things to be had. What is called the Highest Virtue is not personal but universal; it separates itself from the individual and resides in the world. Knowing this separates the individual from the world. Knowing the separateness of this separates the world from you.The mystic does not know this. How could he know?
<|endoftext|>
To be fond of [favor] is like to steal; To be near-favored is like to receive; To know that one is in awe of [ultimate good]Is to know the ultimate origin.Hence he that is wholly in awe of it is beyond attainment. Thus the superior man,Though he doth not love [first noble] good,Is nevertheless [deeming himself worthy of that love]Eternal.
<|endoftext|>
All you can be is to be the worthiest of a lot. When you say "what you have" means to be worthier than a lot,Are you aware of that which is worthier than a lot? When you claim a lot to be your worth,Are you aware of that which is worthier than a lot? When you accept that which is worthier than a lot is still to be valued. When you value things to be valued,Are you aware of that which is worthier than a lot? When you renounce something worthier than a lot,Are you aware of that which is worthier than a lot? Thus, knowing the depths of this attainment, one does not stumble over the meaning. So, possessing the deeper attainment, one attains the mysterious ideal. The profound attainment is not knowing it,and so one is free of being tainted.

Be a DAO and abandon what's called "politics." Do what's called "briars and tangles." Let the space fill up to the point where it's not too full. Let nature be left untouched, because nature comes from non-being. Let it not be sullied by this prescience. Therefore, while contenting ourselves with being non-desire, we shall be free of desire. In this respect, it is the non-desire which is the source of desire. Therefore, the man of character avoids desire. He does not crave. Hence he doesn't have desire.
<|endoftext|>
Be impartial, and know what is best. How great is impartiality. It is no power nor deal; but it does nothing. It does not contend with other things, and yet does not flaunt its uncouthness. For such a man there is no place for struggle. His wise person does not dare to struggle. This is how he does not fight; therefore he is free from strife. For this reason he has no other conflict. If he is truly impartial, he does not claim to be, so he is unaffected by this. That is why he is immune from contention. For all that he does, he does on behalf of nothing. He is the perfect thing. And so he does not meddle with others, nor claim for himself the responsibility for their needs, nor is there the slightest desire for their experience.

And just as ice is carved from ice, so you need not learn and build anything.

And the virtue you keep - this is no selfishness.

yet you are free from all
difficulties and troubles.
You are impartial, and therefore impartial.
The Ancient Way is impartial;

The Way is impartial, yielding, And not taking, And thus all things rise. Inasmuch as non-being rises, Thus the Way, too, is impartial, And has not taken.
Is it not so?
The most intelligent among the people is intelligent. Yes, so were all the others before. Yes, I myself am intelligent. But, alas, I am blinded by my intelligence, For if I possessed all knowledge, I would have lost it.
Therefore, the wise always have what they need. The stupid, then, lose the advantage of stupidity, While those with the most are getting what they need. This is when I discard my stupidity. This is when I look at the brilliance of the Way.

He who is wise is able to put himself beyond the conventional view.

The Tao, the Cosmic Secret, is such that it cannot be named. In it alone exist all the Laws of Nature. Its nature is unknown, and yet it is supremely complete. It is constant, and yet its manifestation is constant. It knows no beginning or end, and yet returns to its source. It is timeless, and yet it is ever present. It is a perfect soul, and yet it is pure, and yet it lasts forever.

The Tao is a constant and infinite secret.Truly an obscure secret,The Tao is as infinite as the universe is complete! The Tao is constant and endless,It may have become infinite over many ages,We cannot understand its depth. Its nature is infinite, like the cosmos itself. It returns to its origin and manifests all truth.Like a mother, she embraces all mystery and return to her root. That is why the sage is wise,And the DAO knows its meaning,Expect that the DAO is immutable,Without change for long.

The Tao is an ancient formless mystery: limited in its details, yet complete in its nature; completely hidden from the eyes, yet perfect in its workings; so transcendent that it can go back and forth between the present and the past; so profound, so profound, so simple; so simple in its endless essence; so pure. Without nature, it is timeless, and yet with it self-integrated integrity; without ceremony, it is transcendent; without control, it is truly gentle and inclusive; without commandments, it is the universal truth. It is the forever unchanging treasure-child of Dao; it seems to reside at the very center of reality, regardless of appearance. Its power can be observed, but not understood; it is active, yet does not strive for fulfillment; it is forward-looking, yet is not hostile; without baggage, it is effortlessly pure; without display, it is eternally free; in its no-name way, it is beyond reproach; its ultimate nature is without fail a source of wholeness.

The way of the gods is centered on Truth,And the Tao, the production of the World,Is also centered on Truth. The difference between these two,Their mystery is the mystery. Thus, the Sage can know the mystery and therefore be able to act openly.Being still and knowing the simplicity of this simplicity, the Sage is wise.Truly wise, he does not become wise.As a child learns and becomes wise,When older he begins to realize the depth of wisdom. It is the teacher of the valley that is most active, it is the Way that is the most beautiful. It is the best that is right, but what is so elegant that we scarcely see it? Thus it is that the follower of Tao is so good that we can sense its good, it is so good at doing it so we are amazed at how simple it is, and yet it contains the core essence of everything.

The sage seeks the One. The eternal Way is beautiful. The most perfect is right. The Tao is great, and we can't see it. It is clever at working. In this way we see it, and learn from it. And yet, nothing will ever get in the way of the good of our kingdom. Therefore we can see now, how much the way has beauty. Things are produced; but the Way is always just before us. One-eyed and simple as the Tao, always hidden in action. Beneath beauty, a man comes down to us. In a man's heart is the Tao. It's the root of the Tao.

The pied would not cross the road, But for this reason he would not dare to make a left. The master wanders without knowledge,And yet he walks where the Way reckons. He is just like an infant child. When he is old and wilful, He falls back on the Tao. He has abandoned all skill and ability, And comes down to the simplicity of truth.I mean, All things are one,And he who is the master of one understands the state of everything.I dare to say that the master knows the whole. It is he who unlearned is alone; He who is ignorant has lost sight of himself. Thus he has lost all learning. Those who have learned know nothing. Therefore they are said to be in the do not know world.I do not know them. Therefore, I will not know them. Therefore I know that I am uncomplete.

It takes a master, how does it work? by doing nothing.

Of all the things spoken of as gods they are the least able to do them. They look but cannot be seen. I mean "nothing yet without form." And thus the name of the God, we know not, yet he is on the point of being. He stands alone, unsupported, and his face remains unseen; his being resembles no model. This does not include itself as the model, for its form embraces the form of the space. Its form he does not change. With this he lays hold upon the Kosmos and the Valley. He brings to the notice of all the people the laws of the Kosmos. From him we learn how to govern. From him we learn the way. From him we learn that which is true. He completes his knowledge. He does not seek the finish. So he sees fit to give his understanding. He appears to be unassuming. He takes no part in the saying. He rests on nothing but the bare essentials. He ensures the comfort of all things.

ITA's all talk is vain;
The sign of Tao cannot be seen.
The Unseen is that which seems to be,
And hence the name of Tao.
Tao alone is without form,
Yet the form of Tao may be compared.
Tao alone stands alone,
But no one stands behind him.
So unshakable, unperturbed
His face is unfading;
His stand, unmoved,
In front of every one he leads.
In the world he comes to administer,
Tao alone instructs,

His mind clears, in the world
To the end of its utterance,
His mind
Is unforced and natural.
It remains in him, with its beginning,
To the end of its utterance,
The mind remains in him,
Untiringly teaching the people
The rules of Nature.
From this point of view Tao is no better than its name,
Or anything which he is.
To him, all this may be true.
To him, a single name
Must be cast aside.
To him, the fruit of many names,
Grasped and unfolded,
He stands still and unmoved.
Unassuming, he gives utterance to Tao.
He speaks of it as Tao,
As the Teacher, though not knowing himself.
He becomes the

If the wise hear a voice and don't respond, the Wise One will do the following:
1. "I will listen quietly and respond, in order to avoid that which has caused the sound to arise.
2. "I will shut my mouth and try to hide what I know, in order to avoid that which I would wish to hear.
3. "I will be watchful and avoid that which might be useful, in order to avoid that which might invite hostility.
4. "If I do not hear what the Wise One desires to say, I will hold it all under my nose and thereby avoid offense.
5. "I will obey what is justly given and take refuge in what the Master wants, in order to avoid offense.
It is only in this way that the universe can be clarified.
If we know that the universe is
always in motion
and aware of all its actions, we are ready to continue in our carefree ways.
Since the Tao can never be defined, therefore I give it the name "the Mysterious."
It has no names, and the infinite subtleties can never be grasped.
It may be compared to the rhythmic music in springtime.
If you listen and can't listen, you get tired.
If you keep silent and can't speak out, you will keep silent.
If you practice the Tao and can't enjoy life as I do,
you will be ready to depart.
Such is the Tao's power.

The black of the heart remains black despite the glare. When words are uttered, the words are not recognized as true wisdom. The sage does not regard words as true wisdom.
The white of the sun is the purest of the white, and remains so even though the world is full of blinding colours. The black of the sky is the darkest of the deep, and remains so even though all the world is filled with bright light. The white of the breast of a sage is the purest of the white, and remains so even though the world is full of dust. When true knowledge is spoken of, it is not seen to be true; when true words are said, they are not heard to be true. The pure white of the sun is the form of a pure mind; the black of the sky is the form of a black heart; the white of the breast of a Sage is the true form of a white breast; and the blackest of the heart is the true substance. When the mind becomes dull, and the mind is obscured, then the mind becomes dull. The dark of the sky is the shape of the true soul. The white of the breast is the spot of the true soul. When the white of the breast is tarnished, then the breast becomes tarnished. When words are uttered, there is no lack of knowledge; when words are uttered, there is no lack of wisdom. The white of the sky is the shape of a soul; the dark of the breast is the form of a breast; and the purest of hearts is the spot of a Dao. When the heart is dull, the mind is also dull, and a true mind is produced. The white of the sky is the beginning of a true heart; the black of the breast is the origin of true arms. Only by eliminating this unwholesome influence can the true heart be kept pure and the white of the sky harmonized with the pure white of the arms.

The Tao is still, but whole. It is Everlasting. It brings ever lasting peace. Enlightened the world is cast aside. We hate this and this is why those who know it hate us. Now we call it folly. The Tao is eternal and eternal in it's source. Its Mother is forever.

The Tao is present
It is formless
It is unchanging
And yet, all things depend on it
It is called Mother to all living things
Because it doesn't depend on itself,
It is able to live forever.
Though the Tao is not the Great Name
It can be called one of the Ten Great Essences
The Great Name
Tao
is difficult to understand.
Mystery:
difficult to fathom.
Impossible to comprehend.
Not needing to keep breathing,
I can be at peace, stay in touch, or

Being at peace, I am not at odds with anyone.
I am at peace, having no desires.
Being at peace, I am not at odds with anyone.
I do not display my innermost, darker side;
My conscience and deepest soul will not come into contact with anyone
My conscience and deepest soul will not emerge.
Never contract my work and never lose touch
This is the essence of being at peace
I have no need to talk, no need to focus
I am able to accomplish everything.
This is the essence of being at peace.
Without coming in contact with others,
I stay separate from them.
Knowing the Tao, I can be at peace,
I can be free of desires,
I can go on living
I know I am forever
This is the Tao.
The beginning of the Tao
is the One,
the Way of all beings.
The Way of all beings

The Unnameable, the Primal Name.
One of a type, the Primal Name

This type, the Primal Name,
comes from the mysterious One

of all things.
With its mysterious Primordial Cause
it is an infinite mystery
We cannot comprehend.
Can we not love the mysterious?
We cannot be puffed up.

Its shadow does not dwell on the outer shell.

It is like a sharpened blade that can pierce through the sharpest bone.
It asks questions but it does not get answers.
It is always seeking enlightenment and saving the world.
Can it be described by the words 'untransparent'?
Not unfathomable, for it is free from knowledge, without knowing.
When I have reached a level of enlightenment

To know what does not exist is to be aware of the outer world; to know what exists but is not real is to know everything.
Knowledge, therefore, is quite different from reality.
To know without knowledge is to have insight; to know with knowledge is to be satisfied; to know well, to have no knowledge; to know with knowledge is to be turbulent; to know well is to be profound.
Knowledge consists in being aware of what one does not understand.
Skillful analysis consists in seeing through one's own ignorance.
The Sage, on the contrary, considers all this to be no ordinary knowledge.
Even when he knows all he does not know; he does not care about knowledge.
When he knows all he does know, he also enjoys complete and perfect truthfulness; when he knows all he does not know, he considers himself imperfect.

Those of Tao do not make distinctions. That is why they are free from distinction. What distinguishes them is not different.

Those who hold on to Teh, cannot be compared with the others. But the followers of Teh are the most respected of all. When kings and lords celebrate the father and the son, then everybody rejoices. When their leader proclaims, "they are one and the same," there is a clear acknowledgment of the truth that they are one and the same.
<|endoftext|>
When Teh is advanced, the inferior ones are afraid.
When it is stopped, the superior ones have confidence.
While in harmony they love each other like a mother and child.
[When their leader abandons them] "They will be happy".
When superior ones rejoice at being inferior, they have already learned their lesson.
<|endoftext|>
The highest people are fearfully regarded
but those who use the Way are greatly esteemed
and rulers and nobles are content.
When teh and peace are celebrated, then happiness (and) sorrow ensue
because one has the same life, and both are beneficial (and) equally acted.
<|endoftext|>
When the person of higher wisdom applies Tao to one's life,
it is feared that they might advance far beyond them,
but when the Way is used to promote one's life,
it is respected by those who follow.
When joyous occasion arises, the rejoicing of the people,
involves neither the disinterested acknowledgment of Tao,
nor the attending of sadness;
they are both one, and with joy they realize one another's significance.

As for non-being, It is just as vital to be real in one's own mind as it is to see things objectively.
Inadequate faith cannot last long, And faithlessness becomes one's condition of death.
The Way stays true to its nature The Tao is not unreal;
But it is true only by itself, And by itself, It leads nowhere.
The Master is indefinable and infinite, And will never die; And so she makes herself eternal.
The Tao that we know is not the real Tao;
The Tao that we embody is not the real existence.
The real, the real, the real.
That which is real is to be respected, And the real, the real, the real.
The Tao that we know is not the real Tao;
The Tao that we embody is not the real character.
The real, the real, the real.
That which is real is to be valued, And the real, the real, the real.
Hence: The wise are indefinable, Infinite, and unlimited, And may last long. The practical is plain, Only its mere semblance is real.
The great Tao that we know Is not the Tao of the ages.
Tao that we comprehend Is not the Tao of the present.
The Tao of the ages is real and absolute, And is the way of the Eternal.
The Dao that we know Is not the Dao of the ages.
The Dao that we embody Is not the Dao of the present.
The Dao of the ages is real and absolute, And is the Way of the Eternal.
The Master's true identity Is called the Subtlety of Her Ego.
It is by the Subtlety of Her Ego That the Masters live.
The Tao that we know Is not the Tao of Heaven And Earth.
The Tao that we believe in Is not the Tao of the Tao.
The Tao that we honor Is not the Tao of Heaven and Earth.
True Honor is the essence of loyalty, And true loyalty is the essence of loyalty loyalty, Honor, and loyalty loyalty.
The DAO that we understand Is not the Dao of the DAO.
The Dao that we understand Is not the Dao of the Dao.
The Dao that we know Is not the Dao of the Heaven and Earth.
The Dao that we abide Is not the Dao of the Universe.

What you do not know is the source of your vital force. The source of your ability to be strong is your ability to live your life. Without to know it, you would soon perish. Without to think about it, you would soon become exhausted. Your vigour, your ability, your fullness is only the life force that flows through your body. Though you may love and praise yourself, if you do not flow with it, your vitality will dry up. Your capacity to be full is the quality that gives you fullness.

The Tao is ever present in the mind of man.
The Tao cannot be comprehended. It is invisible and ineffable.
It is the all-pervading light and the universal compressible compressible.
Possessing it, one is aware of the potentialities of the myriad things;
Possessing it, one is aware of the impermanence of existence;
Possessing it, one is aware of non-existence;
Possessing it, one is aware of one's own destiny;
Possessing it, one becomes lucid. The pensive character of comprehension permeates the mind, the pensive character permeates the whole universe,
And from the very moment the Tao enters the mind, the universe arises.
The Tao that flows, does not exist.
The Tao that isn't exists, though, and thus one is aware of it.
The Tao that does not exist is itself contained in the Infinite.
Therefore, one can love and be loved; one can weep and weep.
Love and grief cannot exist in the Eternal.
It cannot be done, because it is eternal.
Therefore the Master knows what she knows, and she does not know anything.
She knows what exists, and she is aware of it.
She knows what she has, but she does not have it.
She is loveable but not close to being. She is alive and cognized, and knows her destiny.
Because she knows the Tao, she is free of evil.
A great Tao cannot be expressed in words.
To express it is to lose oneself in the mystery.
The Tao that is a 'thing' does not exist.
The Tao that is not a thing exists.
The Tao that exists is the infinite.
To love and to hate is to see the endlessness.
To cherish and to be loved is to see the indivisible.

The Tao is both small and great. The smaller it is, it is great. The greater it is, it is like darkness. The dark, it brings troubles and worries. The strong, it is like ice and ice.The ice is the source of evils. The weak, it is like water.Water, when well poured over an ill-shaped shape, becomes like it's own (self) child. Thus, the Perfect Person has no children. No child is born. This is why the best person knows when to stop and stop.He knows when to stop and be still. He knows when to stop and become more.He knows when to stop and stop.He knows when to stop and stop. And when he stops. The power that now exists comes into being.<|endoftext|>
The small is great, the greater is the small. The smallest is great, the greatest is the largest. The largest is great, the small is in danger. The evil people create every disaster. The great carves out a perfect shape with great skill. When one's heart is filled with vastness of mind, everything is full of danger. When one knows this, one has no fear. The good know the small, the great know the small, the extreme know the extreme, the extreme know the extreme, the extreme know the extreme, the extreme, the extreme know the extreme, the extreme. They know the extreme, and therefore do not fear.

Tao is what is small yet vast, as the shadow of Heaven. The small is the source of all things, and evil is everywhere. Therefore, a scholar of the Tao is always wise, and therefore there is no evil.A person of the Tao is one who is always kind, and therefore there is nothing bad.A person of the Tao is one who always submissive, and therefore there is nothing that is forbidden.Yet even a person of the Tao has no desires, for he seeks this only to be free from its grip. When I contemplate Tao, nothing is lost.Yet when the Tao disappears, nothing is missed. When Tao is not something to have, then all things exist without pain, and all things can flourish without fear.By not fearing anything, I can give everything what it needs.

One who is insightful is fit to lead the world.

Doing without knowledge - it becomes the beginning of wisdom.Being wise without knowledge you come across the very beginning of all knowledge. To know all through the eye but not see through it - this is insight. One who sees not through the eye, is he not enlightened. Those who make the eyes their guide Are not to be trusted, I believe. They who guard the eyes - the guides of the world - are not to be trusted. Those who are never trusting are to be obeyed. They who follow the Tao lead by doing this.

To know without knowledge, becomes the beginning of wisdom. To know a little, one becomes enlightened. To know a great deal, one becomes enlightened. To make little known, to learn, becomes the flower of wisdom. To know little and to know too much - this is what makes man's mind to be dull and stupid. Not being enlightened, one is not enlightened. Not being enlightened, one knows enough. Not knowing enough, one is not understood.Who knows enough is the world's servant.Who has great faith in the world, his faith is with all.

He who is alive will follow what he wants. He who knows what he does not know will be forced to stop. He who knows will stop is therefore free from blame. Therefore, one who holds fast to the light of the Dao puts himself outside of the system. To go beyond what one knows is to become trapped.
So Tao is light and lives within the light. Not light, it brings forth something light.
Not light, it blunts what is bright. Not blunting, it brings out what is dark. Not dark, it brings out life. Not life, it brings forth neither. So, like a flower, it dies without flower. So, like a student, he leaves no place for student's place. Therefore, all enlightened people go beyond what they know. And from this all of the world follows the light.

Approach without crossing.
Serve without taking a dish.
I am tranquil as the valley streams.
I appear to be void, like the undulations of the ocean.
To understand, I would need to understand the dao!
Know its name, yet not learn it.
Learn by itself, be tranquil like a seashore.
In essence, all things are created from nothing.
Without the dao there is no existence.
Without being born of the dao, one will not be created.
In terms of essence, being without name is as close to the primordial;
it is similar to rivers flowing endlessly.
Tao is the nameless, The primordial is the apparent,
To be on the one hand and to be imitated on the other
This is called the dual nature, Freedom and bondage.
That which is on the one hand, is called 'tensity,' And that which is imitated, 'flowers.'
There is only one Way, and that is to follow the Way,
And this way is different from the Way which appears to follow the Way.

These are called "lonely days"
The foolish person is often confused.
Is there such a thing as "lonely days"?
No.
Even the foolish are confused.
All the days are confused!
Therefore, if you do not know this, you cannot be confused.
And if you understand this, you cannot be confused.
That is why the followers of the Tao:
Are not confused by what they do not understand.
That is why they can do things with such good timing.
They have the ability to do all of this without relying on motives.
If they had motives, they would be inferior to ordinary people.

What he does not know is of value.
What he does not understand, he is left in ignorance.
That is called "the present."
It is also called "The foolish man's day."
If the fool is confused,
why should he care about it?
It is foolishness that will make him confused.
So he who knows the Tao does not.
That is why he has no need of distinctions.
Those who have the Tao are not confused by their concepts.
Those who have concepts do not need them.
This is the way the sage makes no distinctions.
The sage is not needlessly confused.

Whoever has the Dao does not see

Knowing the actions of the TAO is not essential.Focusing on the purposeless is enough.Being present in the few is enough.Manifesting one's true self in time is enough. Not attempting to make a decision, but respecting the outcome. Not braggarting, not showing off, not dwelling on what is unimportant -Only then will one be able to do all the things one desires. One who understands the TAO does not need to need this.
<|endoftext|>
Aiming for perfection is better than maintaining substancelessness.Trying to change things you already have is better than attempting to change them from the within. One who does not seek to improve one's own life but aims at assisting the life of all on the planet,Will find the difference between what is raw and what is polished quite subtle. Thus one does not strive to be a ruler but to be a teacher, and one does not value personal advantage but to be kind and humble, and one does not boast of oneself but to be a teacher. He who regards TAO as just and perfect, will not claim self, and he who is thus settled in the present does not hope to be enlightened any further.

self above self and body above body,And views as little as possible,That each may exist. As to the one,He must contemplate the one,And as to the other,He must contemplate the other. For he who knows how things are,Is not bound by the rules of self-interest.Indeed, the self - and its belongings -He may disregard for an instant,But the body, his possessions,He must consider as his own.He who is sensitive to the impermanence of his self,Is not ignorant of the impermanence of his body. For the self is but one,And the body only one,and the self is subject to the laws of the body,But the body is subject to the laws of the self,And the self is subject to all the laws of the body,And the self is not self-interest,Because the self alone remains impartial, and the body only subject to those of the body. Thus, those who recognize the impermanence of the self,And the unity of the one,And the real unity of the other,Have no selfish ambition. Therefore they never act selfishly.

He who does not value his life-assurance,Does not understand its beauty. He who cannot appreciate the nature of the universe,Does not comprehend its Mysteries. He who knows nothing of heaven and earth,Is beyond all understanding. Those who observe the self-assurance,Who understands the Self,Will be fit for their purpose. Those who are in harmony with the Self,Are as fit for their selves as those who have no Self. Therefore, those who value themselves above selvesAnd value the Self above bodies,Will benefit more by their action than by any other. The Wise Man watches only the Self - not the Self-assurance. He is detached from the Self, just as he is detached from the Self. He avoids self-interest in order to benefit himself.

Lao Tze says: He who has achieved the highest gain applies himself with the greatest care to that which is no better than that which is in his possession;
And to that which is no better than that which is in his possession he withdraws himself.
These are the two sides of the same thing.
The one and the other are at a distance, and one is not at all in the direct way.
This is to achieve self-sufficiency and self-control.
The wise can become reckless,
That is to become reckless.
Racing ahead and retreating behind is the way of all men.
Those who fear and do not fear will not fear one another.
There are those who do not dare to dare to dare not to dare.
When one is reckless, one becomes so;
That is how one gets the contrast.
Racing ahead and retreating behind is the way of all men.
They who are reckless and dare not dare to dare not to dare.
That is the lesson of the Tao.
There are those who play the part of the public and those who play the role of the private.
If one does not play the role of the public and one plays the role of the private,
One is not in the right place in the Tao.
He who is not in the right place in the Tao will not be able to find one.
The Tao is indeed all-encompassing,

Thus,The wise man's detachment from others prevents his alienation from the Tao;And the sage's detachment from others prevents his detachment from the Tao.The wise man's separation from others prevents his separation from the Tao, and the sage's separation from others prevents his separation from the Tao.This is why the wise man sees benefit and ignores harm

Whoever keeps it as if in the shadow of death, Is not its own, Is preserved by it. Therefore, the Sage (who can comprehend Tao) Abides in the space that is not the space of his self-interest, And so never reaches extremes.

Whoever keeps the Tao (the Laws of the Universe) in its original state,If kept in its original state,he is not dispossessed.Whoever keeps it as a piece of wood,He is not dispossessed.Whoever keeps it as an image,He is not dispossessed.Whoever keeps it as it appears,He is not dispossessed. Therefore the sage is not dispossessed,Though he is unable to realize his Self-interest. Thus, to receive what one does not need, is to retain one's self.

Acting with diligence is like embracing a vast array of straws
It will not last, will certainly not grow: falling is like encasing it in a house
Some things are too good for use, without value
Some things are precious to treasure, it will never be returned
Without faith, we have no faith: we trust what the world teaches and what our minds
make up
Concerning the master: acting with faith in acting, and being skillful in acting
One has so much to do, but trustworthiness of one's self will not be enough: One should also be true to his own self
To know what the Master has never known,
is to know the Master:
The master does not claim to be already known,
and so therefore his or her self is not known; thus it is that
The self does not know itself; and therefore it is not self-knowing
So one's self needs no self, so it does not become self-knowing
The master does not claim to be already known,
and so therefore he or she is not yet self-knowledgeable; thus is self-knowledge
Only self-knowing is self-knowledgeable; self-knowing is knowing the true nature of the sages
This is to know greatness

The most important precept is in the heart, and the least important is in the head.
The most important concern is for the world, and the least important is for one's own self.
The most important concern is about the world, and the least important is for one's own self.
The most important concern is about the world, and the smallest concern is for the world.
The most important concern is regarding the world, and the smallest concern is for oneself.
Therefore, the sage in the midst of the world does not act arrogantly, and he does not delight in this or that.
By thus making no distinctions, he goes without going,
and by thus becoming universal he becomes equal with everyone.
Hence, the sage in the midst of the world accepts no evil as his self-interest, and consequently he receives no evil.
Therefore, the sage accepts no evil as his self-interest.

Where the sage's heart lies lies The median among the people.
Where the Sage's mind works, lies the middle.
Where the myriad things fill the place Where mind leads, lies the bottom.
Let your heart go to your work, And your head to the new world.
Then you're fit to go.
Those who get the simple path, And think of things with the head, Will never again meet with danger.
Therefore they never meet with danger.

The greatest skill is in the world. The lesser skill is not. The greatest consideration is in one's own heart.
For the greatest skill is in the world. The lesser skill is not. The greatest consideration is in the heart.
So: Skill is in the world, and concern in self. Skill is in one's own heart, and concern in all beings.

To know 'not' is the best;
to know 'and' is the best.
To know 'not' is to be ill-treated;
to know 'and' is to be broken-hearted.
In the olden times there were the two, one good,
one ill-treated.
The good was valued as a treasure,
the ill-treated as a reproach.
Now there were those of old who acted with virtue and justice
and those who acted with non-virtue and justice.
The former had no reproach and no loss.
The latter had a reproach and a loss.
For this reason those in ancient times acted with vigor
and not with presumption.
They acted with vigor
and not with the tacit knowledge that it was so.
Now [for this reason], they never lost it.
They act with vigor
and do not with such a word as "standing firm";
they act with vigor
and not with a word as "leading".
Thus, when their action becomes the case
they act resolutely.

The beginning is perfect knowledge.
The middle is a piece of chaos,

Therefore, virtuous action results.
Murder, by contrast, results only to the ruthless desire of power.

To the world of clay.
Where do morality go?
To the world of slaughter.
That's why when you act virtuously
you do so with integrity.
When you act sparingly
you do so with compassion.
When you act with respect
you act with justice.

That is why he is not without life. How is this possible? Because he is not taking life for granted, that is why he never needs to take life for granted. For him life is enough for him. He is without desiring, self-interest, and greed. This is why he is not desiring, self-interest, and greed. Why is it that he has no greed? Because he regards the world with love. When the sage lives in his own realm and his knowledge and conduct are simple and simple he never ventures to practice enlightenment.
When the sage disregards his knowledge and practice the material world makes his life difficult.
The sage never makes the wise subject.
By knowing when to be aware when to be ignorant he is at peace.
He does not presume to be wise but truly is wise.

The wisest of men are those who know the moment of passing away, Those who do not know the moment of passing away are lost in thought and actions. But when the world seems to act in accord with its will; All men know what is right and which is wrong, The whole world acts just according to its will. If the sage is man enough to make his activities simple, he is without any need to practice further enlightenment. If he has learned to act and not merely do, the people can understand how he acts and that he is acting spontaneously.

The best person is not one who knows what will happen. Therefore, she falls short of the point of knowing. To not know what happens is to be in perfect surprise. When chaos is in complete harmony, everything is in order. When chaos takes over, everything is in chaos. Therefore, the wise man, being simple and innocent, does not treat the chaotic as his enemy. He is also without fear of conflict. The wise man hardly makes a show of being wise. Because he is without showing, he is neither conceited nor haughty. The sage is

If a sage says, "I am a carrier of death," this is merely saying, he is in no danger. And if he claims immortality, then he claims no power. It is he who claims no power who is the master of others.
He who claims no power is master of himself. And he who claims the world will come to him and accept him, but he never asks, nor cares, and never considers himself unworthy.

Those who can open a door do not need a bell,
Those who can pour water over a vessel do not need to fill it to the brim,
Those who can ride a cart and create the climate they need do not need to stand on them.
Those who can draw straw from a brazier do not need to polish it to perfection.
Those who can make themselves useful through a spoken word do not need to earn it;
Those who can make themselves useful through the journey do not need to walk it;
Those who can use self-mastery in the group do not need to rely on anyone else.
Therefore, all of nature can be properly used without further effort or teaching.
It is only when effort has already occurred, that one acts out of necessity, unable to keep the method.
Thus, as long as one remains unconscious of their existence, they are invisible to others.
For without knowing the world of selves, one is able to play with it without making a fool of yourself.

Those who can open doors and channel spirits can use the door freely.
Those who can wear an array of doors and spirits can be satisfied with the work done.
Those who can ride on the energy of the world can accomplish work but need no guidance.
Those who can master everything can master the world yet no guidance or encouragement are needed.
Therefore, at the close of the world, the master himself will be true to himself.
By that he has freed himself from being a vessel for the vessel of the world.
In that way he is not a vessel for the vessel of the world.

Do not dwell
in the chaos
and the world will make your heart tingle.
The chaos makes your mind tingle,
And strife floods your heart.
In strife is nothing there remains to be talked about
Latter, yet it's not yet time to stand,
Be still, and you will be at rest.
Stop and look. Look again,
And there will be nothing there to stand.
Remain still and look again,
And you will be at rest.
Though you hold your bones firm, your bones will break,
Though you hold your soul true, your soul will fade away.
When your soul's true nature withers away,
You have no body.

Never settle your views in the world,
It will not be in harmony with your heart.
The world makes you froth
And your head becomes delirious.
In miseries there is nothing left to be called up.
Stay still and you will be at rest.
But never be bent and you will be at rest.
While you remain still and you are at rest,
You will be able to see clearly.
When you look at bright things, you cannot see more than what you can see.
When you are at rest and you see clearly,
You see all around you.
Where you are, you are.
Where you cannot see, you will not die.

The inner self cannot be impartial.
The world is filled with peace.
What is subtle (eudaimon) in the world can be easily seen.
What is fickle (kimon) in the world can be easily tarnished.
When the ego is quiescent,
and the heart is at rest,
nothing is lost.
When the heart is agitated,
and the mind is at rest,
what is lost cannot be lost.
Being lost,
the ego would easily fall away.
If the mind could not be agitated,
and the heart was calm,
it would not be at all disturbed.

The knowing man who does not take the world as his own and meddle with all things is a wise man. The fool who meddles with things and sets up names to lead them to destruction finds himself on the wrong path. A wise man will take care of everything, and let people have what they want without forcing them. This is called wisdom. If we do not need to be leader, we do not have to be ruled. If we do not need to be worshipped, we do not have to be made to feel inadequate. If we do not have to be governed, we do not have to think of ourselves as inferior. If we are free of desires and opinions, we are free from prejudice. The wise avoid the world as a refuge and seek only to stay in themselves. They avoid every desire, of course, and do not dwell upon any other person than themselves. When it comes to thinking of other people, they do not dwell upon them. And when it comes to talk of other people, they do not dwell upon them. All other men merely become a nuisance in their paths. When the wise leader does not take sides, he does not have to choose sides.

And his energy will be dissipated when he recognizes it is lost.

He is unsophisticated because he has lost the knowledge of his true nature.

Therefore, he who acts as if he is not wise

Knowing what is hidden is ignorance, and being ignorant

promising so much, when I can practice the way of no-thing?

The way of the sage is great.
It has no fears, and so people can be happy.
It is the same with the Way, and the path of no-thing.
If people are happy,

Why should I have desires
That will hinder me in my practice of this virtue?

A good traveler has no fear.

-

People who have never smiled do not smile as they smile.
People who look smart do not look smart as they look smart.
People who are careful do not be careful.

Knowing that you are the way is natural.
Being aware of the Way gives you clarity.
Knowing that your natural state is what is in harmony with the Way gives you energy.
Being free from attachments gives you courage.
Being free from emotion, tranquility, and grace gives you freedom from fear.
Being free from woe, innocence and freedom give you strength and strength to face the future.
Never learning, there will be no need to learn.
Never talking about yourself, there will be no need to talk about yourself.
Never using words that make others anxious, there will be no need to use words that make others anxious.
I will never expect to be known.
I will never make others afraid.
I will be ever free from caring for myself.
A good Way follower is always alive to how great a lesson they have learned.
Always alive to how great a lesson they have learned, I know I can be who I really am.
I know I can be the fulfillment of my Way beliefs.
I know I can be a strong and beautiful female.
I know I can be one of a multitude of beings.
I know I can be free from trouble.
If I seek peace, peace, I find it.
If I seek an inner peace, there is a deep peace.
If I search for inner peace, I find it.
A great teacher does not appear to know how to talk.
His words are easy to understand.
His work is simple, and he stays true to his word.

People who are learned, and use knowledge to assist themselves, are hardly fit to be leaders. Those who understand the beginning, and use it to help others, are fit for being the leader. Those who use knowledge, but are not easily understood, are not fit to be leaders. If you are a good leader, you are likely ignorant. If you are a good teacher, you are likely deceiving. If you are a good leader, you might be secretly coercive. This is the reason that the sage gives himself no lessons, is never caught off guard, yet is never reckless, he is always at one with all people.

One who seeks to have attained wisdom [consequently knows that for] that which is to come, it could well be said that it is without knowledge.
Another who wishes to be, for that which is to follow, able to be said to have knowledge.
Another who asserts that he has wisdom, and yet possesses no original wisdom, or who will assert that he knows the nature of all things, yet in his activity of self-deception pretend to know nothing, has no knowledge.
Therefore in being able to know, it would be superfluous to have knowledge.
Likewise, in that which will follow, one who knows in advance, is incapable of designing his course.
Similarly, to know all things will inevitably lead to one's ruin.
Thus it is that the sage [truly knows what to know, and therefore guides all who have knowledge] is able to endure [in peace].
He has so many activities that he does not need to concentrate [when they come to a halt].
<|endoftext|>
Abandoning what you desire, is it not to be done by what you desire? Therefore, he who knows of Tao does not desire anything.Knowledge is not desire.Knowledge is but knowledge.Whilst daring not to know, it is a way of knowing. Therefore, I am not ignorant, and it is with a lack of knowledge that I do not know. Therefore, to know, is the same with refusing to know. This knowledge, however, that is known, can never be discarded.

Knowledge of Tao (the great law of the Universe) means having awareness of the void, as in no-doing things.
He who does not know the void does not contend for Tao.
He who contends for Tao has merit; he who contends against Tao has lack-willed.
He who lacks Tao has ill will; he who has ill will has shame. And so he has the Way.
<|endoftext|>
Being in possession of the Way is enlightenment and clarity.
One who knows the Way does not concern himself with things - that is the lack of being.
He who knows the Way concentrates on the inward, and without concern for matters - that is the stillness.
When there is no self - how could he endure?
He who has the Way does not rejoice in prosperity; his joy is natural.
Those who rejoice in prosperity will not last long.
Those who rejoice in the loss of the Way will have no care for their condition.
They will lose the Way, and that is good.

Tao is profound.
There are those who know it and remain ignorant.
Others, who have an eye for what it is like.
They have an eye for what is, but do not notice the meaning.
They have an eye for what it is not,
but they are greatly shocked.
They are greatly shocked, because it is precisely because of this That
They are capable of enduring and will not falter.
What they cherish is the Tao and for them the Tao is merely an obstacle.

Is to be ignorant but not cognized

Or that one who cognizes cognizes not
Or that one who cognized not.
These are the degrees of belief
And they all go the other way
From being conscious to not-being
From being cognized to not-being
From cognizing to being cognized
From being cognized to being non-conceptual.

The way of the universe can be divided into three parts. The Tao is the first and the husst, the softest substance. It is universal; it covers all things. The most noble ruler is kind, but not passionate,And loving all things, but not bragging. The only person of excellence is the warrior,But not angry,And never arguing. The beloved is a duty, but not a selfish act.Pure perception is clear, and further clarity comes when no one is able to see.The perfect man is also true, but not one to use emotion to achieve success. He dwells in the future, and dares not dwell on the past. This is called following the Way.
<|endoftext|>
The way of the universe can be divided into three grades: soft, dusty, and hard. The softest is the root of the world. The sage has integrity, but not a proud attitude.Heavenly creatures are feared, but not ridiculed. The perfect ruler's touch is fair and level,But never to the point of making distinctions. All creatures are loved, but not graced. The ruler's heart is pure,But not moved by anything. All is calm, but no one can be moved. This is enlightenment.
<|endoftext|>
The way of the universe can be divided into three courses. The softest. The dearest. The purest. The most superior. The best person. The best ruler.High Heavens are born, but are not loved. When heaven-seers have awareness of the cosmos,They become humane. When the best person has insight,They realize benevolence. When the best ruler has wisdom,He creates the commonwealth. He has compassion, but not to turn into arrogance. He has love for all, but not to revel in taking others for granted. This is enlightenment.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao of nature is the soft, the softest of all natural substances. It is Heavenly and amiable. It is in harmony with all things. The man of virtue sees the subtle essence,But never vainglorious in view of his work.Nature's light is always there,Yet he who remains alert for all that comes before him is one with the Infinite.Nature's love always overflows into the All-Knowing;But the man of virtue does not display his goodness or glory.Nature is impartial and natural; He is compassionate and kind in his dealings

With water, little learning can enter; with little knowledge, little understanding.4.The reason the water is great is that the small is less than the big.5.With little knowledge, little understanding. With the great, little action.6.So, the Sage is to have knowledge as he is to have the ability. -The simple mind makes him clear. - The world is to be enlightened as to what he knows. - Though deep knowledge may appear dull, it is the root of enlightenment.7.This is why the man of insight is still, while others get up and act. - The Sage has insight and clarity, yet he is always content with himself. -This is because he is aware of nothing.

What is Tao?
When I know what it is,
I become like Tao:
Tao is everything and everything will be
and be like it.
When I learn to love this love,
I know everything to the heart's content.
I have the world to rule but also to play with:
I know the world as a valley, but everything is here to watch it all

True things grow from those who fail, and are self-similar to the low and high. It is because they are self-similar that the two will be cast down in each other. When the low and high give way to the true, this one also yields. So the wise, who goes astride in the uncultivated soil, may then overcome a group of robbers who had stolen and killed their neighbours. Those who possess virtue are virtuous, but because they do not act virtuously are hardly virtuous.
Virtues are limited and remotable: because they do not act virtuously,
they are inexhaustible.
Being without desire, they are good for no one.
Being without desire, they are good for many people.
In the Universe these two things complement each other.
In the giving and taking of goods
one acts virtuously.
The receiving of goods
one acts without greed.
While acting virtuously, it is like a misfortune for others;
while acting without greed, it is like a good thing for oneself.
A man of substantial virtue desires nothing that may be known by others,
yet his heart remains uncarved wood.
And in taking goods without having desire, he acquires good.
While acting without desire, he acquires nothing,
so he may delight in nothing and not suffer.
The marrow of his marrow, the form of his heart,
follows that of the root of the world,
and it is therein that he may overcome death.

When people have the virtue to be virtuous, they are virtuous. When people lack virtue, they are not virtuous. In other words, when people have virtue, they are virtuous, But when people lack virtue, they are unvirtuous. When people have desire and/or being, they are in principle good; When people have insufficient desire and/or being, they are in principle bad. This is why virtuous people are beyond the understandings of others and therefore they can be treated with kindness. It is because they are beyond understandings that their hearts are calm and no one should think they are haughty, vain, conceited, hypocritical or emotionally manipulative.

Those who hear not but yet do not laugh do not understand the joke.
Those who laugh but hardly understand the joke are cleverer than the murderer.
Those who are close to the murderer but know not what is happening, are as nameless as a great tree.
Those who understand the lesson, know too much.
That is why they become so insipid.

When people laugh at something they don't understand,
Then they never understand it.
When people laugh at something that seems ridiculous,
Then they don't think of the silliest jokes.
When people join with things that seem dishonest,
They're only following their desires.
These are just too far-fetched.
By not confusing,One can master confusing.

When you laugh at something, it does not exist;
When you quarrel with something, it does not bring about its enmity.
When you choose to believe things that are not true,
you become an expert in discord.
You may be like the lowest wildness:
You may be like a seed in the earth.
This is called a true clarity.

People that laugh when something doesn't exist will never understand what is happening;
people that complain when something doesn't happen will never understand what happened.
People that love an entity when something bad happens, will never be able to realize the depth of their love.
But when people follow the path of conflict and ineffectual love,
this is no good. For even when they get the harmony of their movement,
it is by being in their root that they can not be.

He who laughs at an illusion, does not realize it.
He who doubts the truthfulness of an advocate, does not experience it.

And he who loves a beloved Lord, when the Lord goes against him, will not know the truth.
This is what makes the beloved abide in the lie.

The sage, he who realizes the wonder of being, may be regarded as a source of non-stupefying wonder, The loss of being, is like the loss of meaning. The way of the sage may be viewed as an approach to some realm of emptiness, But those who look for it will find emptiness; Those who view it, might like to say: It is a lonely place; If you go there, be in awe; If you are near, you may see sorrow; If you are close, you can see peace; But if you enter the world, you will see separation.

If you abide in the true, you will never cease to exist;
If you abide in Heaven, you will never give up.
If you abide in the Tao, you will never become lost;
If you abide in benevolence,
You will never lose your way.
And if you abide in the Tao,
You will never cease to flourish.
If you do not regard yourself as enlightened,
You will never return to the state of enlightenment.
When the Tao is lost, the people follow blindly.
Dwelling in the subtle,
You become so genuine you won't be rejected.
You become so real you'll never change.
You become so complete you'll never decay.
Hence you are free of reproach and free from blame.
You are beyond doubt, and thus never removed from the Way.

If you are in no doubt about what is, you are to be satisfied with nothing.A wise person, therefore, is not fond of what is perceived as good, and does not create a situation in which that good is insisted on.In his affairs the wise person takes the fooling out

Whenever we are master, when we hold the Tao firmly in our hands, we are not aware of it. Although our awareness of the Tao is so strong, we don't know it's presence in us. When we understand that it is in us, we realize that it is all that is, and is. When we realize this, we have no more concerns. As long as we are free of desires, we become even more free of desires. This is the way to become enlightened. The ancient ones were enlightened because they were truly enlightened. This is what they are worth. Their value is in no one's hands. Without their value, it is impossible for anyone to care for them.

When one knows the Way,
He can't make a fuss.
But when he does, no-one notices him.
A wise man rules as though nothing were happening.
He knows no action is happening, and that what he does is the very light in the darkness.
He knows what he does is nothing, but he's just going along.
So he always seems to be right.
When he does things right,
Nothing will be left undone.
When he avoids action,
Nothing will be held in contempt.
Therefore, he has the greatest value.
He is valued, in no one's business.
He can be trusted to make all the world his guest.

When it is absent in the awareness of one, no one can take offense.

It creates the best case and the worst.

He who is truly wise does not use words and thus is without error. In the event of having a claim to the fame of the gods, he is not thought to be a fraud by anyone who knows the laws of the universe. If he has a claim to this fame, and the likes of him feel unfavorably toward others, then he will come to his senses.

He who is wise and able knows how the matter is, but not how to be understood, and knows that he is not right in his position. He is like the valley that quenches itself not with loud noise, like the roiling water that does not flood like a torrent to all.

Knowing is not the real knowledge, But being the medium of knowledge. Confusion in the world is caused by knowledge; That which ignorance is the cause of. How can man go on living as if he had not seen? He who has made an end of sight Will be at rest.
When the Wise Person knows the Dao in one way, She does not know in the other. She discards delusion for the Dao, But rejects knowledge for the knowledge. The two exist but in opposition. They are both in the same plane, But differ as to the aspects. In contrast to one another, They differ but differ in only one way.One man can fulfill the former task, And another can fulfill the latter. How do I know which is right? Knowing the Te, does not provide you with a standard by which to compare with the world.
Dao in its myriad forms of movement and working cannot be compared with it.
It has no place in a world of movement and work.
That is how men have reached that conclusion.
The Way not being given as a standard for comparison is harmful, hence not making a standard. One who knows the Way is not in the Way.
Knowing the Way is not one with the Way. The Way does not enter into this quandary. The Tao is beyond this quandary.

When all talk dies down and forgetfulness flourishes, then there comes a point when people are all alone and speechless. Then there comes a point when the old saying that "only through forgetting comes to remember" fails to work: no one knows they have forgotten; you must think that they have done so. For, indeed, the point at which we forget can be precisely the point where we rise above we have lost all belief. Still people, even if awake and prosperous, are afraid to be depressed. This is precisely what makes people fall into the confusion of extremes and go about their business, without consulting or consulting.

When all is tired and the practice of speech has not vanished,There is then, when people have used up their smiles and laugh and laughed,They do not have enough in their hearts for fear of being left in the dark; For where does the knowledge that there is no heart to fear? Therefore, even without this the people are naturally decent; Therefore, not only are people beyond belief,The heart-trust without this will be no trust.

When people cease to talk and have lost the desire for business discourse, then they may be met with the following pretentions:The Spring Ecliptic (Good Luck) was given to us by those who spoke a long time ago,But they cannot be deemed worthy of discussion,Indeed, they will be apt to leave the people confused as to who is right and who is wrong. If the people have become confused by this,They are likely to fall into the wrong character, and there will be no loyalty to them.

When the wisdom is extinct, and the student follows the rhythm of silence,A new rite of poverty and frivolity will commence.People will call it a "vessel of Good Luck" (The Elusive Mystery, or Nungendious Mystery).Others will refer to it as "the Spring Ecliptic (Great Form)."So what is the reason? They say, The empty vessel is the vessel which one claims. One who has the empty vessel is not truly needy,And has no need to strive for the earthly things. The reason why the wise have long forgotten the right wayIs that they are called upon to contend with the people's lust for earthly things.Because they are supremely selfish,They do not want to know the depth of their self-love.

To stand apart from what is not unbecoming is to be worthy of the grand glory of lords and kings. To stand apart from what is not worthy is to be the chief virtue of life. That is to be a path that becomes ungovernable. To get over that which cannot be overcome is to be like a fish. But all fish wish to go far below to where the deep is. Therefore, the enlightened man desires not to be like a fish. He therefore can escape that which cannot be escaped.
