In Tao, there are ten thousand subtle qualities, yet the people all understand only the simplest form. Therefore, the Sage, in the light of Tao, teaches deviousness.
Nontheless, the people are baffled and confused, as though they have no known names. Yet among the myriad forms they have none that cannot be understood. In names they have true existence. If true existence were based upon nothingness, the universe would not be whole. If we can improve upon nature, let us create a civilization, and a new Heaven and Earth, and let the myriad creatures live in harmony with each other. This is the teaching of the great. The sage wears a fine silk and carries in his breast a heavy necklace, inside which is a certain jewel.

In Tao, there are ten thousand subtle tones. They are profound yet unreferenced. Therefore the Master does not deny them. He knows them, however, Only as clearness. She takes people and teaches kindness. He invites them and keeps the people. He brings their needs and gives to their desires. These three are one. The King takes the name "Tao" and himself makes it clear.

In the cultivation of life there are ten thousand subtle qualities: all of them manifest, but their eterna provera was only named. Therefore, the Sage who abides in the Tao, has not a single ground to contend with. The Sage who follows Virtue, enjoys many creatures to watch over, yet he is uninvolved with them. The sage who enjoys well-being gives abundance to all living creatures. The sage who desires well-being invites one to seek for him.The sage who displays Virtue bears name "Tao" with universal impacts, yet he is attached to none but the one self.He retains his original roots. He is highly esteemed. He is a glorious success. He has indeed attained. This is called a noble nature. It is the essence of all success.

Ten thousand subtle qualities appear, Yet the people all know only the Simplicity of what's subtle. Therefore, the Sage: Heavenly actions work and keep the people. In Heaven-Above the people:

If one wants to be a king,he must first accept the Tao; he must never dispute it.If one wants to be the ruler of a country, his rules must be decided after he receives a decree from the people. If people do not know the difference between good and bad,How can their refusal to know change their rules? The leader must manage situations and affairs with a certain level of control; He must define the rules with a certain level of clarity; The people must meet with rules and rules should not interfere. This is how one can become the government of the world. How to govern a country is in accordance with nature,With accordance with family relationships. The things which are forced must be ordered as well as anything else.In order to produce all the things people want and need, they must have a lot of tools.A king must also get the right to rule.Although all things should work with equal opportunities, he must ensure the dignity of the nation. If the people cannot enjoy the fruits of their works,They must create some forms of regression.People should take their affairs for granted.A leader who is possessed of any high-valence may have his throne a little lower than a commoner's;While the laws should not conflict,He can devote himself to serving the common people,It is the task of the Tao to help those who seek to give up much of themselves to offer more to those who need much,And thus change people's attitudes towards themselves.

Heaven and Earth merge. Heaven is like a mother to Earth. And Earth is like a babe brought up by its mother. The sage's life is like the DAO of Nature. Tao is what Nature is. To be truly good, to be truly bad, is to be a child born of a mother with an infant.

Harmony is bliss. It is possible to go on endlessly to please others. This is called non-resistance. I love harmony. I love not to offend the world. I love beauty. In that way I have no faults and has good principles. For example, I created the world, built a skyscraper, made airplanes, made merry music and so forth. I love to cause people problems but it doesn't matter. For this reason, the sage does not try to be famous. He loves the earth, so he does not brag. The beauty of the earth is not recognized. If people do not appreciate this, the sage wins.
<|endoftext|>
The substance of heaven is that which is 'Mother' to earth. From this Mother we get the realm of 'Knowledge.' We love her, and yet, as of a baby yet knowing its mother, it grows up to be a Great Thinker, All being within this universe not having us know, we find our goodness (se) beyond knowing. For this reason, it is said: The Eternal Mind (of the Sage) is not called 'Great Thinker' but 'Mother.' Being without faults, it never desires to improve himself, and being free from boasting, it does not wish for recognition.
<|endoftext|>
The earth is like the mother to the universe. Earth is like a new-born babe. In its heart is Tao (the Way of Tao). Therefore, when things come together for the purpose of work, man becomes inadequate. When the mind settles on action, the mind takes as its mind what is in the depths. For this reason, when man seeks to be a leader, he is inadequate. When the heart of the universe falls off, the mind shines. When the mind is purified, the mind is free from all evil. When one does not act in a disrespectful manner, he is free of troubles. When no one laughs at the leader, the mind is pure. And when all gets through with the leader, the mind will again shine

Speaking is easy; listening is easy; thinking is easy; watching is easy; being indifferent is easy; following others is easy. All of these are easy, but the one you should most want to learn about is the tao. Forget the words and images, and you'll find them easy and all-encompassing. This is the key to enlightenment, understanding, understanding. For those who don't know, it's hard to see. For those who do, it's easy to see. Those who know this, know this too, too. This is an asset, not a curse. This is knowing something; not knowing something. This is not a good idea. Only when you don't understand what others think.

To talk is easy, but listening is easy, but remembering is hard.
To act, all depends on the other's needs.
To have faith, there is only faith.
But never mind that faith, of itself, can be moved.
True initiation begins as an idea, and is never exhausted.
That's all.

To speak is easy, but listening is hard.
To act is easy, but valuing is hard.
All of them are easy,
But the one who seeks is the hardest.
To know the Way is a solitary experience.
To act is a solitary act.
Everyone knows to act, but the seeker has no choice.
Knowing the Way, the experience is serene.
Then true action begins.
To act is to act, to act, to act.
Many have a goal.
Some have a purpose.
Those who act don't follow nature.
Those who know the Way don't follow nature.
Action is one's self, not nature.
To act and know that is to act, and so know the Truth.
Those who know the Truth understand Truth itself.
Only in self-knowledge does the Truth become a thing.
Those who don't understand Truth, do not see its potential.
Those who understand Truth see potential,
but fail to embody it.
Those who do not embody Truth fail to embody it.

There is something so delicate, so good-natured, so little that it can't be talked about: the one who behaves like one who does not want to be the one you like, or whose inner-force is still unclear. In the most innocent way, I can only tell you that I'm not trying to be anybody's teacher, or a leader's assistant, or an idiot's helper. I am not as clever as everyone else, and that makes me uniquely skilled in a lot of things. If I am said to be knowledgeable, I'm not even really knowing I'm knowledgeable. If I am said to have good teaching, it's only because I have so many dares of stupidity, and people never know it's me as someone who is smart and knowledgeable. I have no place in the hierarchy of people's egos. When my insights are posted, I am spotted as a fool, or a liar. If I am praised, I am ridiculed. If I am praised, I am ridiculed. I am the last thing that everyone thinks of when they talk about the precious quality of human wisdom. People think I am like a flower that has no beauty, or that I'm a braggart's fool. I'm the flower that no one like and doesn't appreciate. The flower that no one likes and doesn't respect.

To be real is to be alive. To be alive is to be more than empty. To be more than empty is to be more than dead. To be more than dead is to be heavenly and genuine. To be heavenly and genuine is to be real. If you are pure and simple, this is the purity that is hidden. If you are free from distortion, this is the freedom that is hidden. Nature is beautiful, and yet unknowable. Intelligent people make it appear so. But those who follow nature cannot see it as it is. Only by seeing it as it is can one know that it is beautiful. Truth and falsity coexist, and neither can be rejected. From the beginning of creation down to now, Nature has never abandoned this. For Nature has revealed it to us, it is simply that which it is.
<|endoftext|>
The universe is beautiful, the unknowable, and yet never done before. They make art of it, but none dare look at it.They create it, but none dare to be born from it.Truth is always present, but none dare to deny it.It becomes Heaven and Earth, then it becomes the Tao.People all see that it exists, and if they deny it, they lose their birth. Therefore the Master does not make art of it, nor does she affirm it. Because it is not for her to affirm the Tao, nor to deny it, its worth is exacted from others. Some people cannot follow the Tao, and can't keep away from art of it. Those who do not follow the Tao cannot be helped by the Master's teachings, for they could not be helped. But the best, the enlightened, the wise are conscious of their nature, and act from nature alone. Thus they are not called dull. When heaven and earth are brought into being, they do not abolish their dynamic functions. So those who are bright begin their realization of Truth. He who knows the Tao must not know the center of the Universe. That which is not of the Tao cannot be called the center of the Universe. For a person who is bright, one may look at the root, yet one cannot see the roots. Those who must look at the roots will find that the root is the light of the whole. When heaven and earth come into being, they create the hidden thread. It can neither be destroyed, nor converted into something else. All that is of the Tao is hidden in the heavens and earth, and because of this it is able to be called the light of the whole.

Therefore it is that even what is (lowly) of the most common is made to appear as the least (good), and that which is common is made to appear as the (highest) of the things. For what is (lowly) like the common is made to seem insignificant, and what is (lowly) like the common is made to seem the only (good). It is as if the comparison of them, that there are different degrees (of the people) as those which can also be deemed as (low) in common is about equal in relation to the comparison of themselves. I can only say that on the subject of goods and works they differ little, yet what is superior, it is very likely to be (some) things (in the world). Who is the worthy to share his master's dao? (The king, prince, master's guest).
Who is the worthy to share his lord's dao?
The king and the prince as guests and guests to the king,
But there are other ways one can keep dao with him.
One can love the king with what he loves,
And love the prince with what he loves,
Or love them both with loving what they love.
These three are opposites, but they can love each other.
The Tao has no name, and this is because it has no name.
It can only be compared to things.
It is easy to believe in it, but in it there is no good or bad, just nature.
It is called "the light of the world," and it can be preserved with great effort.
In the empire, one may act by words but not through action; one may take great honor, but one must follow with alacrity; one may consider oneself "over-appreciated," but one must observe that others appear less so.
Those who study the Tao know how to hold and not let go. In this they are not sullied by words.
We must not glorify ourselves; if we glorify ourselves, it is because we hold to the Tao.

The Sage, the deputy, the prince, the Sage, the Deputy, the Prince, and the Sage, may all be considered parts of one.
In acting together, each is greatly benefited.
The Sage, the Duke, the Prince, the Sage, the Duke, the Prince, and the Sage, acting together, may all be greatly benefited.
The princes and dukes act as guests, and guests act as partners.
These are opposites, and one cannot act as a partner.
Those who act as partners will benefit equally; they will benefit their guests in equal measure.
If one knows the usefulness of alacrity, one may return to reliance on pure silence.
We must be inexhaustible, and the ability for replenishing greatness is within our ability.
A wise man keeps himself humble in order to be strong.

The Tao of the universe Is subtle, though unrefined, Quiet as the valley, Quiet as the sea, Indescribable, unobtainable. Therefore, It is not manifested.
The Tao of the universe Is skilful and onenessing, But it cannot be known, It is profound yet unrefined, Nor has it source, Nor the ancestor. Therefore, Those without word Follow this Tao And become truly Enlightened, Being truly enlightened, They shall become vessels unto the whole world.

So, the way I took in the Tao:

The way of Infinity, illuminated by my teaching, is too subtle for human understanding, but all creation loves it as surely as it loves the earth. The cycle of Nature itself is invisible, and yet all creatures and things embrace it with the love of Nature.
This is how my teaching can be correctly spoken of. "Heaven is unseen and above the Earth, the subtle model of all things." "As the highest radiance takes the form of the world, so the Simplicity of the World can be perceived as a subtle and supreme image of the heavenly radiance."
This is the Primal Tao of the Universe. It is by this that all things can be understood, and these that can be understood can be given concrete form.
The wise man, caring for his people, not to focus his attention on the material world but to care for the Way and the universe, bears the image of humility and peace.
<|endoftext|>
A tool that makes simple tools cannot explain anything. The whole universe would say that the Way is invisible, then comes clarity of the Way. The world says the Way is great, then their own perception. But for the Way and the cosmos each the people and the world cannot see clearly. So the more clarity the world, the less the people can see. A smart man makes the people look humble, not vain. And he should not be self-centered. If a wise person does not think of himself as smart, he does not have self-blame. Smart people respect the role of their elders. When they do not understand the people, they do not tell them that they are dumb. The people should be only willing to accept the best.

The Way may be called the invisible, the subtle; for the universe there is no rival. Its essence is the Self and All are able to grasp it. So the Way is invisible, and yet all are able to understand it. For all is able to understand the Way, for a place which is as thin as a thread as in the dust and water. All creatures and things embrace this Self, but humanity thinks that it is somehow great. As it is great, so it is also a veil, and we have no complete idea of its greatness. If the people with whom humanity is able to live live like this, all other beings will remain in the state of ignorance and ignorance. The Wise Person does not try to show

The greatest action does not come from lack of desire. The greatest accomplishment does not involve boastful achievements. The greatest achievement never takes advantage of any person. The greatest honor is earned by non-attachment to the occasion. The great accomplishment occurs through thoughtlessness and non-action. The greatest wisdom is found in simplicity.

Tao is subtle, abstract. Its form cannot be seen. But it is the most subtle being in the universe. If we study it carefully we can see the whole of it, and its inner workings. It is the creator of everything. If you don't care about what happens, you will be happy. If you know how to care for yourself, you will be whole.Only those who give themselves completely to others can truly achieve great things.Only those who embrace the secret within themselves can enjoy true inner peace.Only when you give your heart all you have you can become whole. It is only when you understand this truth that you can use this principle in the true heart of your own life. When you give everything you have you create great things.Only then can you become a natural source of compassion and love.Only then can you learn how to truly love and nourish yourself.

Take a person's life to be the basis for saying what to do. Take natural life as the basis for saying what should happen. Take knowledge as the basis for thinking about what is real. Take natural events as the basis for considering what is natural. That is to say, when the country is centered in its highest degree of life, people think and act as if they are following their natural nature. That is to say, when people are centered in their deepest ability, they do not need to worry about following others' orders. The word that I am repeating is the root of the words I utter.

Natural and secret the way; Tao itself.
What's real and how come to be?
That which is real and how comes to be.
What is the self-centered principle?
That which is self-centered and how can it be so?
The path leading to it, Tao.
Wherein is the real?
Wherein lies the self-centered principle?
What's real, how come to be?
The one that knowth the way of the Self is knowing of Tao;
Those that know Tao, the world knows;
Those that do not know the way of the Self, know not Tao.
Thus are they all true to the way.
Their selves are the substance,
And their souls the core.

There is nothing like a good speaker. Yet no one else in the world ever stands out. His words are simple and arresting, but his meanings are profound and subtle. His mind is clear and keen. The world cannot understand it. Yet that's precisely why it can't understand it. His words are vague and vague, so many different flavors may be found. It is difficult to describe what the essence of him is like. The plain simple essence is like an infinite ocean that brings forth all things. It gives birth to the world but needs nothing for sustenance. It fills it but needs nothing for nourishment. And only by being nameless do the masses understand me.
<|endoftext|>
Speaking is easy to understand. Forethought is hard to think.Only a superficial view can fit a description.Words flow easily and effortlessly through the mind.Have you ever been busy and distracted? If you think you understand a story by seeing it through someone else's eyes, you are missing the point. One simple word can't describe what a mind is like.It is a melting pot and multitudes flow from it.But one who thinks he knows you (a person) must be a fool.Remember the words of Nature, "Words are but traces of things." The mind that knows itself is clear and simple. Not to allow these will destroy the mind.

The Sage's talk is not a good way of life.
But others in the world
carry it out;
And he who is not always clear in his thoughts
Can never truly grasp the essence of things.
When the Sage is kept from making it plain,
He expresses it clearly;
When he keeps from explaining it,
He explains it;
When he keeps from naming it,
It is all encompassing;
And when he imposes rules,
He imposes nothing but confusion.
The Sage sets no store by clothes.
He takes great care to stay free of those things
That any one else, claiming to be enlightened,
Must seek to understand.
In truth he is what Nature wishes him to be:
Simple and great,
Without a word to be understood;
Without any outward appearance,
Always at rest in his true nature;
Although no one could ever get to him

The first successful order's goal is to reduce the effort. The objective is always the same: the TAO.
The sage uses simplicity in explaining things.
The people of the world will understand it.
Because it is universal, it cannot be explained.
Though the people cannot understand it, it is true.
To appreciate simplicity means it is empty.
Empty means one may be sure that one is getting close.
Though it is empty, it is full.
For those who know its use, it is much more.
And indeed, it can be used a lot.
Although refined, it can be hard to separate from the light.

The purpose of the great leaders is to reduce the effort of active action, and to reduce the effort of all who follow them.
The purpose of the great officers is to reduce the effort of loyal service.
The purpose of the great people is to reduce the effort of loyalty to officials.
The purpose of the great masses of people is to reduce the effort of loyalty to leaders.
Therefore, those who can reduce the effort of their efforts are just as generous, just as loyal, just as competent as those who can devote themselves to their loyal service.
This is to understand that to treat the great people as a group of people hardly needs explanation: only their achievement and their giving justify their generosity.
To understand this means to master simplicity.
To hold fast to the true significance of life means to be detached from all extravagance.

The good man who becomes wise of old is called like a cloudburst (overturning of auspices). By such a knowledge men are perplexed and perplexed, in what world is it so, then the good man flings himself into his own possesion, and also in the world he owns himself: he guards, protects, leads (in his house). Let him who desires nothing, it is natural to restrain him, let him who desires much, it is natural to help him. For such a man, he excels by himself. If a state is in want of good men, men of a state cannot be left out of his knowledge, so he keeps himself in ignorance. For he shows himself always clear-minded and always philanthropic. He is the follower of virtue in life, (yet he lacks those things of which he has so much), for he does not despise the merit that comes to him. In this way he has become the possessor of noble ones.

Good people hold to the way of old (Tao), Those who hold to the Way are like nameless clouds. Within themselves there is nothing, their presence here is like that of a jade (Tao) -- doing what they like they are always done, what they do there is all done for them. Without attachment (hugging) that which is real, to that which is not real, they neither hold it nor can they hold it. Let men of the world know them in this way, and they will not understand them. If they do not know them, then they have no knowledge. The good man always keeps himself in the good sense, And, though one who cannot accomplish anything (in the natural way), yet he always achieves; he may lead in the same manner, but he holds himself in the same manner; He seems clear-sighted, but he shows himself obvious. The eminent Tao-player is modest in his actions, And he is used to governing. The man of the world knows his Tao, and yet is not fit to rule; He knows his Tao, but does not understand it; He does not know his Tao, and he follows Tao without knowing it. He takes care of himself and not the world. This is the way of goodness.

Failing the Spirit, you will not be perfect. Without the Spirit, what is there to know? One may know; without it, there would be nothing. My words are clear and easy to understand. Yet I have no idea.My action is smooth and quick to accomplish. Yet my experience, knowledge and insight all come from within me. I am 'empty,' yet 'I am everything.' Without knowledge and insight, I am neither understood nor responded to. Since people are so confused, I am a constant social symbol.

The wise man uses words that are inexhaustible. Words that are inexhaustible aren't the proper language, so the wise person is kept away from most things. Only the truly wise can use words and to be able to control others.
Why the words are simple matters alone,They must be understood, or there is no way to use them.If you don't understand the things that I know well,If you try to control me, I will be in control of my own actions.
When this was accomplished the Taohsang King took them to be just plain words. Therefore, those who are not focused can never achieve his goal.
The tao that you now try to master is the Tao that was with the ancient Te.
If you are not focused, you won't succeed.
The Tao that your heart knows is not the eternal Tao.
If you try to push it away, it is the inevitable consequence.
Therefore, the Ancient Masters knew what is good for you and what is not.
They chose not to try to control you.
They knew how to lead people without forcing them.
They kept themselves open to the world, and so could be one with it.
As with a road to safety, the Tao that you sense is not the Tao that you know,
Not to know the Tao is not to be trusted.
The ancient Masters knew that the true people must be left alone,
They guarded their virtue, not their outward status.
They were the people that the earth would welcome, not the people who shaped the earth.
The ancient masters lived in the valley, without court etiquette. They were not a paradise for the world, and so were not a paradise for the world.
One who has been conditioned is not truly free.
That is why the Tao sages shun being full-on specialists.
They stay content in their basic capability.
And because they don't seek to make things well-ordered, they are right where you need them.
Because they are not full of themselves, they have never forgotten who they are.
If you wish to change something, listen to the voice of the Tao.
If you don't like to listen to it, be free of desire to change anything.
Follow the Tao, not the Tao.

Do not make use of your words; understand without verbal instruction. Do not try to make sense of them, neither can you.Do not use your words to clarify or to make sense of anything. They are a self-deception, a lie. Unless you turn away from them, you can not comprehend them. And when you do not turn away from them, you will understand.Do not try to tell a story about yourself, an effective leader. If you try to tell a story of yourself, you are bound to fail. The wise leader does not want to tell a story; so he expresses himself simply.
<|endoftext|>
Do not use words to relate; understand them, just as the Tao applies to the body.If you use words to clarify or to reveal, you are concealing Tao.If you use words to formulate a social procedure, you are establishing an ulterior motive. If you use words to describe, display, or shape reality, you are discarding reality. When clarity and simplicity manifest themselves, you will begin to understand. When simplicity and complexity manifest themselves, you will begin to evolve. When events develop from events, you will begin to know. When knowledge is lost, there is lack of significance, thus the sage associates smallness with light, and simplicity with simplicity. If you cannot distinguish, you will not know; the wise leader does not dwell on matters. That is why his empty eyes are esteemed. Therefore, the sage works quietly, but values clothing.

Without artful craft, we can fully tell ourselves what we want to know, just like an ETA doesn't dwell in one's mind.
The Tao is always constant and it does not change. Everything begins from it.
There is no Dao-being, it has no beginning.
If you try to have a Dao-being, you will not succeed.
It is Tao, and it is only Tao.
Before Tao and you have the knowledge to express it, you have lost it.
If you don't understand what it is, you can't do it.
If you don't want to do it, you can't accomplish it.
When we no longer want to do something, we are free to do it.
When we don't have the will to do it, we don't have the ability.
When we have the ability, we start with the knowledge.

His skill is of good measure, for he remains above all, and yet rarely loses sight of it.

The spirit of words is simple and is easy to grasp. The vessels of words are filled with splendour, and a single sound cannot be more powerful. Words are the inner vision, images of the world. But people see only what they can see. When no one laughs at you, then you are an authentic person. When no one rejects you, you are a true achiever. When nobody responds to you, you will sparkle. Words as illusions and empty words make no difference to their followers.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is simplicity and directness, yet few people understand it. Words are easy to understand, but none of them are the true Way. The mind-felt words are fleeting and shallow, and they reveal the deepest depths of man's ignorance. The mind-felt words are implements, whose use is but a partial one. In the end, the people know nothing, yet they are the masters of the world. The world is not able to know anything, yet it is the most important person in the world. The master of the world acts calmly, precisely, yet nobody can understand him. He acts quietly, but nothing in his heart makes a sound.

As "easy" as it is,
He can keep a mind undisturbed.
As "easy" as it is,
He can avoid concern.
As "easy" as it is,
He can make his body as elastic and flexible
As his heart needs;
As "easy" as it is,
He can avoid anything to perplex him.
Hold fast to the Tao,
And the left hand and the right hand,
To yourself and to others
The same as the Tao-Man:
Allow no-one your talk,
Or your fears will hide you and your fears in those whom you can not be.

In being true to himself, he will be true to the world.
This is why the wise man will sometimes be modest and others will laugh at him.
Some would say that he is not worth listening to.
If one is not in touch with one's true nature, one would look foolish and ridiculous.
A true leader lives in the ordinary of life.
In the ordinary of life, he will live the life of humility.
This is why the

Relying on the Tao is a sport for the sages. They work with words, but everything seems to go according to plan. But the common people still don't seem to understand them.So they tell me,The One who chooses not to speak is just like a baby not yet at it's baby's peak. The One who chooses not to use art is like the finest instructor. The One who chooses not to promote himself is like a model student. The One who chooses not to manipulate his people is just like a leader. The One who chooses not to make himself conspicuous is like a wondrous jewel. The sages will walk, but they will hide beneath a radiance of light. When it shines, the masses will know they are seeing something mysterious. When people know the people aren't so different, they will embrace the mysteriousness of each other. The sage embraces truth as a treasure and never uses it.What is important to the sages is doing nothing and then standing on the right side of history. They rely on the Tao as they empower everyone with their wisdom.

This art of discernment is the same to the Taoists as it is to the Koshers. They use words to describe the Tao,yet nothing works, not the people who understand the Tao.The Taoist uses words as the way things work, yet nothing works, not the people who understand the Tao.This is what the Koshers do.In teaching the Koshers to speak, they are as unspeakably simple as newborn children. One who uses words is like a gentleman in public. One who uses words is like the gentleman at the top of a public house. This one never uses words, yet he is the world's master of words. The world is as wide as a broad open canyon, and the Koshers alone cannot be seen.As soon as the Koshers can see all, they then can see the Tao.The Koshers value teaching to the Taoists, yet avoid words like the plague. When you are seeking not to be grasped, the Taoist is the only one who can allow you to be with the Tao.

THE type of "the Abiding" (Ren) of the Universe is non-separating (fan xu shi) from the Universe. Yet the universe refuses to be separated, and it does not separate. Yet all things are described as separate, and still they are as the One (Yi-jan). Thus there is no self in the universe. Yet, it does not separate from the universe. This is the origin of the world (ming). It is not the origin of the world, for the world separated from the universe. It is the unity (ming) of the universe. Hence the sage (hsin) advises humanity to be the separate (yung-jen), and to advise humanity to be the one (yu-jen). By separation (ming), the universe may be separated (ming); (It may also) be the same (yu-jen). Although the universe may be the same (yu-jen), yet its seers may distinguish (shun) from it. Though it may be the same, it is only by reason of its separation (ming) that it may be separated (yu-jen). Therefore, the sage advises humanity to be one (yung-jen) but to advise humanity to be separate (yung-jen). By having seer's knavery (li), humanity may be one (yu-jen).
<|endoftext|>
The Tao (Way) of the Cosmos is the Tao of the single unity. This unity does not evolve, and does not divide. It does not separate, and neither will it stand still. To do this is called non-separation.To be separate is to be differentiated.Being differentiated is to be loved.Being loved is to be distinct.Being distinct is to be considered as one.Being considered as one is to be large.Being large is to be open to the world.Being open to the world is to be separate from the cosmos. To be separated from the cosmos is to be separate from the Tao.That is why the sage advises humanity to be free from separation, to be free of being divided,to be boundless. To abide in the Tao is to be like a cuttlefish.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is not separate; it can merge into the world. Only because of its selflessness, it has no boundaries.
The distinction between "the self" and "the world" is meaningless:

With Tao, everything is harmonious and quiet.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is omnipotent, pure, subtle and mysterious. It cannot be perceived. In its being, nothing is seen; yet it contains within itself all that is seen and unseen.
Tao is obscure. It cannot be understood; In its being, everything that is seen and unseen is expressed.
Tao cannot be divided, Yet all things are divided.
Therefore the great king excels in being present in the Dao And showing it through his actions; But because no one can see him, He is merely obscure.
Only when he shines is there light.
Only when he shines is there peace.
The glorious state of Tao is always manifested in peacefulness
And quietude; The beautiful state of Tao is always manifest in tranquility; The wise man dwells in the shadow of Tao
And goes quietly around its periphery.
<|endoftext|>
What is Tao, may it not be distorted? It can be profiled by nothing, it can be divined by everything, it is invisible. In it, existence is neither known nor perceived, yet everything must come to exist in it.
What is pure Tao, may it not be confused? It cannot be illumined. In being there is nothing to see; in having existence there is nothing to know.
What is absolute, may not be confused. It cannot be separated from reality. To exist, all things must be created.
What is abstract, may not be confused. It cannot be divided. In being there are no parts, to know there is no perception.
Because it shines, everyone, while he or she can see, should contemplate it, should contemplate it, with quiet clarity.
The Sage - the perfect one, isn't at all like him or her! Because he is subtle, it is only because he hasn't seen the light that he can be discerned!
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the Invisible. It is perfectly subtle and ineffable.I do not know what it is like,I do not see what it has in it,I do not know where it is going.I am alone here, that is all I have. The Tao is the mysterious, and the invisible! It is all there is.It creates everything. That which comes from itI will not see.I am the child of it,I am the brother and sister

The Way is the nature of its no name. It is the uncarved edge of the ultimate truth. Uncarved edges are the material for things, but are not rules. Uncarved edges are the ability of things. Yet we cannot know without knowing the uncarved edge. What is done by the Way is the natural order of things. What the Way is not, It is the true way. In him to come There is nothing else to catch.

Nature is Tao, the nameless way, it is eternal, unerring. Uncarved, unfathomable unending, let all things flourish, but know the uncarved edge, this uncarved edge can never be unraveled, this uncarved edge will become manifest.

The Tao is the same for all things but the name has no substance. It is eternal and it is unnamable. Unnamable, it is the One and in essence it has no name. The One in all things is uncarved but in it one cannot be seen. In it, it is whole and it is whole within itself.

In the beginning of the universe, there was Nothingness. It was formless, yet empty. It was nameless and unknown. It was complete, and so lived. It was too small to be called a hole; it was full to the brim. It breathed life into everything around it.

I do not understand it. Therefore, I have no concept of it. The universe cannot understand me, nor comprehend me. I am very rare. I am the fountainhead of all creation.

Tao is an incomprehensible mystery; yet it is the mother of all beings.Yet, the people of the universe cannot fully understand it, and it tries to use its power. It could be the foundation, it could be the fruit, yet it is indescribable. It has the same basic principles, yet it is ever mysterious.People all know how to identify Tao as the form of Tao, but Tao is what makes up the whole world.Even the most obscure things happen to know Tao.Where else but Tao is the true foundation of the universe?Even in the depths of the depths, it is not possible to get lost.
<|endoftext|>
Of the origin of heaven and earth, I do not know; but of the ways to which they lead I do know. The heavens and the earth, by virtue of nothingness, are the mother of the ten thousand things; And the man who studies the Tao knows neither the existence nor the non-existence of this mother.By the Tao, things which are alone are not comprehended.By the Tao, things are comprehended, but when one goes beyond the boundary of Tao, they are lost in wonder.

How much the misfortunes which always follow are to be endured! When the ruler gives birth to his lotus and to the Nursing Mother,He employs the Nursing Mother not for her own sake, but in order to benefit him as much as she could. For only through her use, does it not become clear that she is the Mother.Yet those who have looked for her do not see her. Those who have looked for her do not see her at all. Therefore the sage does not enjoy fame or riches or distinction. He does not enjoy fame or riches or distinction. That is why he is very few, and it is just for this reason that he can accomplish so much.

Those who make "my teaching" their essence,
Do they not know it is so?
How can they then insist that I call it "my teaching"
Of what use is it, if it is really not so?
To know that I am master of the Tao,
Is not knowing the Tao
To act virtuously with this Tao
Is not to act virtuously with this Tao
Is to be like the people of old
Who understood Tao
Only on rare occasions did they lose
What they did understand
Only on rare occasions
Would one not treat the sages
The people
The way of me, the way they do,
Is shabby, and so heavy that they cannot stand it
So the vast world cannot bear it,
Nor can those who practise
The way of them,
And thus they have no substance.
So, again:
As Tao of men and not of men,
Tao without the natural
Is thick, such a block, so soft
And so full, so stiff,
So heavy, so hard,
So hard to hold,
So not to do at all

When the original originator of the Dao advised that he or she share them and be merged with them,
We all knew
how deep and wide this truly deep and wide harmony was.
That depth and width is the profound essence of the deep and the wide of all.
One with it will find everywhere as well as not-so-all.
One with it can be in one's home (or house in Heaven, the Principle).
One with it can work all aspects.
One with it can be open and innocent.
One with it will always remain in the bright light.
One with it will be clean-cut and handsome.
One with it will have life of activity.
One with it will have happy and full of life.
One with it will be at one with the infinite.
And so:
Now it is the people of the original deep and wide simplicity (our true nature) who are least informed and less connected to the Dao of man.
I don't believe them in the least, so don't listen to them!
If one seeks all that in life, he will not.

When a great teaching is left unspoken, it is not really wisdom.
When philosophy is withheld, it is not really a teaching.
When ritual is forgotten, it is not really a rite.
If Heaven and earth are not quite right,
Why make them even more flawed?
I will call them "sparse."
They are sharp, fastening, imposing.
They hold and keep all things,
Not in order, nor restless,
But in harmony, as indeed they always are.
To be like that, why art so good at teaching?
For the reason, which I treat as knowing all.
Not knowing it, do not learn to know.
Not knowing it, do not learn not to learn.
Not to learn, you will be of no use.
Be humble and avoid proud;
Be plain and choose kindness.
Do not be ostentatious;
Be sparing and not boastful.
These all help but not the greatest help.
The greatest teaching should not be compared with it.
To be compared with it is to be in error.
He who claims to be his own great mirror is trying to demonstrate where he is not.
<|endoftext|>
The wisest advice doesn't get in your way
it just settles the matter.
The purest form of teaching
I can't justify, because it's all that exists.
The goal of nature is chaotic and charged, so I call it imperfection.
I define perfect as 'absent, and perfect as present.
This is called an offshoot.
The incomplete is called the illuminated.
The illuminated is the limit.
It's an outer sphere, it has no shape or substance, so I call it inconceivable.
Although there is no appearance,
we're drawn to it because it's illuminated.
It's what the tallow jade hides behind.
<|endoftext|>
The intelligent do not need to tell
how great a gift this is.
The farsighted do not need to justify
how great a gift this is.
The good are incomplete, But the good are true.
Thus it is that one's perception (of Tao) is incomplete;
but the good one's (sense of self)
self is complete.
We can only see that which is imperfect, But that which is real is there.

The thoughts of the world are haphazard and confused. Their usefulness only comes when one can concentrate on Tao.
The goal of the world is the one that makes everyone else feel good and doesn't focus on its own importance. That is why the sage in the end dwells in a simple cave. She doesn't take things to heart or concern herself with what other people say about her. She simply dwells inside her root and dwells quietly, enjoying quiet rest.
<|endoftext|>
Tao flows everywhere, but it is elusive. Yet it is thus inseparable from all that has gone before. The Tao that is elusive is neither fabricated nor utterly without flaw. Neither in practice, nor in thought, is there any difference from the past. It flows freely from the center and returns to no destination. As it returns, it seems endlessly. The world is plagued with words and concepts. The time of the Tao is serene and simple. It is not quarreling or struggling; there is no struggle or tension; and the self is without hate. Those who have nothing to lose do not interfere. Those who interfere are hardly worth living with. Tao is like a glass of water: it is easy to drink but has the strength to take you back to the cave in which you first arrived.

A wonder of the world, wondrous in its simplicity and in its subtlety, it is hard to understand. Not to understand it, is impossible; to describe it, is impossible. It is beyond being or non-being; it is invisible, intangible; inaccessible. Yet it comes back. To return to the past is to return to the essence of reality. We don't dare to try to make any rules. Because no rules are made, no one tries to follow them. Yes, nature abides by itself and dwells in the unchanging, perfect circle. Nature abides in its simplicity. The complexity of nature is without flaw. It may be described but not defined; it may be comprehended but not defined; it may be examined but not followed; it may be observed, but ignored; it may be observed, but ignored; it may be observed, but ignored. It is in that mysterious simplicity that the untruths of nature lie. We can talk a lot and say a lot, but the world won't listen. If the world didn't listen, we'd have a full understanding.

To speak the Tao:
(1) Think of it as water or fire,
or water or wind.
Or as time, space or distance.
(2) Just because people know how to use it,
they do not understand it.
Therefore the sage uses only
water and air,
and rarely uses wind,
or energy or gravity.
Just because people don't understand the sage
they don't understand the world.
(3) Yet the world still knows the sage
because people do not turn away from
the sage.
This is why a sage is always simple
and never complicated,
yet in a single word he is vague,
subtle, and open.
(4) A sound is hard to understand,
it is something that is even harder to describe,
and the Tao is difficult to understand.
(5) Even the most learned person is not able to understand it.
This is why the
sages are rare and indescribable,
and simply make people understand them.

The Spirit extends beyond the shape of the form to all things of the Universe.
Even with what the people understand it cannot be understood.
I therefore see that among the Vastest creatures there is an accord with the man
the man cannot but be as a mere mud-stick.
He cannot but be as a mud-stick,
he cannot but be as a mud-stick,
he cannot but be as a mud-stick,
he cannot but be as a breath,
he cannot but be as a breath.
He cannot but be as an infinite manifestation.
He cannot but be an infinite manifestation.
He cannot but be an infinite being.
He cannot but be an infinite manifestation.
Because he cannot but be an infinite being
he is truly infinite.
Because he is not a mere form there is no corner.
Because he is a thing that is without shape the Divinity has no corner
and he is thus equal to everything else.

One's ability to use the Oneness of All is immeasurable,
one's ability to follow through is boundless,
and one's ability to rely on a single principle is immeasurable.

How much of the perspective it may assist in!
How great is the role of the principle
how much it suffices to rely on it!
How much of the perspective, the wise person expects,
how much reliance is in being on it!
There is a reason the intelligent ones

for it is not only impractical, it is impossible.

The Tao Can be described as extremely mysterious.Very subtle, extremely wide and deeply penetrating. It is constantly receding, mysteriously renewing itself. It is constantly becoming and changing. It is constantly exploding. And when it is out of balance, it seems to return. It is so much like water. It seems to have the energy to do anything and then it returns. It can be used for good, and it can be used for evil.In which of the two do the two extremes seem true?Which of the two extremes does the wise person keep? The sage can keep water. He can hold on to the truth, and he can bring the water to the people.

Know the task and do not meddle.
Know the result and do not interfere.
Know the source and do not interfere.
If the people do not know the source,
They will not suffer its perversion.
Now to the sage, the Sage is soft and elegant.
He doesn't wear clothes.
Yet when people see him in their midst,
They pay no attention.
Not wearing clothes,
He is well known.
"And not wearing clothes,
He is renowned."
Who knows he is not wearing clothes?
Who would leave clothes and proclaim himself?
Therefore the great man shows off the most fine clothes.
He holds in his hands a treasure which no one will ever see.
A great man's fate is known.
He is a wise man;
He would not be wise.
For this reason, the wise people avoid publicizing themselves.
Therefore the common man cannot be confused.
Therefore he keeps to himself.

Be present, but not always present.
Live in harmony, but without blemish.
Say what is true, but don't brag.
Confront the root, but have no desire.
Live in simplicity, but be cared for.
Do the right thing, but don't be stubborn.
Be a guest and take no notice.
Give yourself completely and you will be lost.
Loss is what we must accept.
If you don't let go, it is hard to be found again.
For the great Taoist, one should be calm, yielding, and sparing, as if putting on clothing.

Know the task - well and never interfere.
Know the result - yet not interfere.
Know the source - Yet never interfere.
Fame does not come from birth -
And ever you will be unknown,
When you return to yourself.
Who knows himself?
To him we do not relate.
Therefore a man of prudence is even modest.
He could not be a great man.
To the wise man, he will take no pride.
Thus the true sage is in regularity of carriage.
He receives what is no one sees,
And doesn't open his mouth.
True care is given to his belongings,

Good words are never perfect. Words are a medium for improving people. Bad words are always on the spot. Words are a way to communicate what you mean.
The best way is to say what you mean when you say it. The bad way is a means to communicate what you mean.
Understanding the purpose of the body is the best way to understand the relationship between body and spirit. Understanding the purpose of the heart is the best way to understand the relationship between spirit and matter.
By understanding the differences among the body and spirit, we are able to begin to comprehend the way the universe works.
By being confused we hinder our understanding of the universe and as such hinder our own knowledge.
The sage can rely on the most insignificant actions, because they are in this context:
A creature in danger needs to love what is in danger.
A creature with a weak spirit needs to help who is in danger.
The Wise Person learns to accept these two systems of love and help from the depths. Because they do not accept the one, they do not receive the other.
The deep enlightenment is through listening to the Truth, but without personal attachment. Being profoundly aware of Truth, it is through being impacted by what is happening in the physical body that we learn to follow the Way of the Universe.

What others see, I only see, What others think, I only think, And yet no one knows.
The language of the sage is simple yet profound.
He doesn't mince words. He doesn't talk all day.
Most people seek direction, and don't find it.
They seek all-encompassing satisfaction, and they've found it.
Most people are just happy, and try to keep things simple.
Simple desire is not simple fulfillment.
To know the mind-space is to have the mind's center.
To have the heart-space is to have the heart's center.

Heaven's beautiful;
Infinity's soundless;
Beyond its borders, there are no hearth,
No hearth, no sound,
Beyond the realm of sound, there's no end.
Though the world knows,
Does not know.
Words are their source.
Though deeds are their root.
These two parts of the sage are very different.
They differ only in having a nature,
a common ancestry.
Common ancestry is not complete.
To know the common ancestry,
one must know the profundity of the profundity.
To know the profundity, one must know the limitations of the profundity.
Common ancestry is not sufficient to know the profundity.
To know the profundity, one must know the obscurity of the profundity.
The profundity is of supreme significance,
it is hidden, unattainable.
Therefore, the sage lives in the subtle.
She passes through the mere and knows the deep.
Through the subtle she finds the mysteries.
Through the mysteries she completes her study.

The world's beauty shines through:
Deep within its depths are none.
No sound of wind, nothing sound of air,
Surrounded by walls, no paths for it to leave,
Lost without a home,
Greeting as it leaves it:
"Greeting, you know not whom."
The deep is not filled;
Not full it turns its back upon fame;
It is never satisfied;
Not satisfied it turns back to light.
To know the subtle is to know the undistressed.

Songs are what all who live beneath heaven should know and care for, and then how they should listen for it.
The phraseology in a song is as hard to define as the act of making it.
Being able to understand it as clearly as I can is what it takes to make it good to hear.
The ability to know it as fully as I can is what separates me from the non-theist.
They both are difficult to understand, and seem to flow from no source.
Those who have both the concept and the act are few in number, and that is the reason the Sage tolerates no one under heaven.
He eschews all words and shows himself clearly.

Everyone, beautiful and ugly,

These two human beings are great,
and are so great,
that they also embody the Great.
All beings love them

Yet Heaven and Earth

or perhaps they just take them.
This is because they are so great.
Without a mind to follow,

But if you take them and make them great,
it is because they are great.
With no mind to follow,
you are able to see the small,

As things are born the four heavens and earth gradually shrink away.
The breath of the universe gradually diminishes.
Nothing is left behind.
The noble form and the formless are reborn.
The son and the father are like plants, growing in their own little valley.
The formless and the deep form are like water that withdraws.
Thus the various kinds of things come from the unity.
If they return to the one source (their place of origin), there is still order.
If they return to the space of many relations (the root), there is still order.
To take things apart, to separate them is to go astray.
Sincerely seeking the unity,

The Way is subtle and elusive, like the heavens and earth, but it is ever-present. The way comes before words; words are before the way.The fruit of the body is the self; the self is the fruit of the body. If you fear the self, fear the body. For the ancient wise the sage wore smooth white silk and carried the jade necklace around his neck.

The Tao is elusive, even to the touch of man, and yet it has no flaw in it. It is the way of all under Heaven. When a man desires to move forward, he must first acknowledge the need for humility; humility is the root of all his efforts.
THE Tao is elusive, even to touch, and yet it has no flaw in it. It is the Way of Heaven and Earth, and men who move beyond that will have no success.
The Way is elusive and invisible, yet man who gets to it finds no end.
Hence it is the life of the body; the life of the body is the life of the Way.
The life of the Way is to be receptive; the life of the Way is to be receptive, and all things under Heaven are nourished by the Way.
The Sage knows not, but all men are misled by the light of a real knowledge.

To the truly perfect man, simplicity and seeming simplicity are actually fine tools for carving and forging a vessel of truth. Of what use can "plain speech" ever be? Simple speech of its own is a fabrication. Only God is truly known. Only God is truly known and so can be known by anyone. Only God can be known and can be acted upon by anyone. Only God knows the totality of the universe, and it could not be otherwise. Only God knows the innermost workings of the collective action and brings them forth into the world. Only God can make this world and the universe eternal. Only God can make everything work according to natural laws. Only God's way is free of judgement and therefore is good at separating right and wrong, good at placing oneself before the people and good at choosing the proper course in things. Without words, the wise man is not clever; without purpose, the wise man is not conceited. Those who have been wise since the beginning do not dwell in foolishness. They neither brag nor boast. They take on themselves the task of making others behave wisely. By not dwelling in their wits they accomplish their task. And when they have finished their task, the sage does not waste words. He just carries what he needs, feels what he is feeling, and uses what he needs.
<|endoftext|>
Difficulty of understanding the good is the criterion by which men of true character are measured. For what is good? Everything is good. The true man is infinite, inasmuch as he knows all things. The man of the past was thus: I know everything, you know nothing. He who knows everything gives life to all things, you give life to nothing. The man of the present is the same, he makes the universe more and more natural; he makes the universe more and more free, and it becomes perfect itself. The wise man cannot be asked of anything, because he does not strive to know anything. He is free from choice and makes the world serve his will. And knowing nothing and yet knowing all things, the wise man has the ability to accomplish all he wishes. Without a word he is equal to none, because he does not know what he does not know.

When the people feel humble and abashed, When they have enough money to eat and drink, When the culture is secure and prosperous,
Sages are as common as the grass on the lotus bed.
The sage has no clothes to make him look noble; No head to make him look smart; No face to make him look beautiful; No speech to make him sound good. When he can't tell the difference between right and wrong, People will sometimes stumble on him. But the Sage always understands that he has to be clever to make people happy.
To be able to have a sense of humility is to be able to embody one's essential nature, to be complete without judgment. To be one with oneself is to be a follower of nature. Being a follower of nature requires less material possessions, less pride, less interference with the world. Being one with nature requires less concern for preserving privateness and morality, less want to interfere with life. The mind that is unafraid to be open-minded is also open-minded and therefore has less selfishness and less need for consumerism.
Thus, to have an enlightened heart, Being enlightened with your heart, is to have the essential nature. Being the essential nature, To be enlightened with your heart, is to have a sense of being complete. Being enlightened with your mind, Being to be fulfilled, is to have a sense of true unity. To be truly unified, To be with nature, To be free of desire, is to be free of individuality and is therefore of much value.

To say, "From dust to dust, rise creatures like fish," is nothing but an idle play, it means nothing, yet it is greatly appreciated.

Nay, I can go on and on: "Being mixed-up, make the clay moldable," "Finding things given to you, you leave before completion," "Observant, you are jaded."
The best possible person is a man who is just, a little is a lot, a lot is a piece.
He who is just doesn't waste a mouthful;
He who is less is less than perfect;
He who is dull is duller;
He who thinks himself brilliant is duller.
Always let go of your senses and understand

The most profound way Is usually known as the Infinity. Infinite it travels in all directions. Yet its track never changes. That which is truly profound is easily learned. A person of extreme discernment cannot be understood by ordinary people. The so-called common people do not understand what is so profound. Because a person of extreme discernment cannot be understood by ordinary people, the people of Extreme Disputation remain obscure. Therefore, the Sage uses a very simple way to illuminate. Everything in the universe is very simple to him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everything in the universe is very simple for him. Everyone is very clever at what he sees. As a consequence the Sage abandons the easiest things, and carries a heavy roundabout.

To move beyond understanding into harmony with the Infinity is like the Tao, which is not to be understood by anyone, by even the wise, for that reason it can not be defined. By it anyone can see his path and feel his affect. By it everyone has his destiny, everything in the universe, everything in his birth, and everything in his end, for that reason he does not go astray. If the wise alone did understand it, it would be beyond words. Everything at the same time is present, or has been, present, or has been; and there is nothing which is absent. If only the less enlightened are really aware of it, they are not well informed, for even without knowing the Tao, the myriad creatures are aware of it, and all of them have their own ways, their own ambitions, their own ambitions, their own selves. This is knowing what is with you and not with you. So the sage does not appear complicated; he goes without a knot in his loins.

Virtue is like an evasive tide, gracefulness is like a plain stream.
Attraction is like thread of Tao, discernment is like water's spray.
Knowing how to use Tao, we can help the world.
But it is just as well that no one under heaven can use Tao.
He who has Tao as his teacher is at ease with all under Heaven.
This is called deep understanding.
The world's ignorance cannot be known.
The only true mind can be known.
The world's ignorance cannot be known.
Only deep understanding is truly rare.
The true man is very plain, therefore deep understanding is lacking.
The true man is extremely careless, therefore he has neither simple and deep understanding.
The truly thoughtful man is very comprehensive, therefore deep understanding is complete.
If a man without deep insight is competent, then he will know the oneness of All Things.
If a man without clarity is competent, then he can comprehend the ten thousand things in their diversity.
When these two systems can not cooperate, They must both unite in the essential unity.
This essential unity is deep.
It has an origin in Cosmic Depth.
And it is only those who have grasped the essential unity can meet the ebb and flow of the Universe.
Thus, the sage rejects roughness as it should be; wears outerwear as it should be; does not have an ego and dwells at the depth of the heart.

Indeed, he does not hold to passions or desires and thus never lets go of them.
What he does without ambition to achieve,
He also does without contriving to define his greatness.
Thus he becomes truly great.
Likewise, the sage manages this process from the bottom up, not from the front.
She simply is in accordance with Tao and settles into being.
The natural woman is humble, does not appear showy, and easily loses her place.
The sage is above her needs, achieves his purpose.
The man assumes the role of the governing authority, but is far below himself in value.
The natural woman tries to act in accordance with Tao, but does not force herself to be always what she thinks it would be.

To be like stone is to live for a thousand years; In stillness is to be transformed; In motion is to change from one thing to another. The way of an Emperor is to use spoken words. That which is derived from nature cannot be spoken of.If you cannot use it, you will not know what to do with it.He who lives in simplicity is like the Great Mother. He who lives in hollowness is like a stallion before the coming of Tao.The inferior is like what is out of harmony. He who has destroyed himself, will lose his lost self. That is the beauty of the Great Mother and the greatest of all humility. When speaking, look deeply. When practicing, be thin and light. And, though not wearing white or wearing gold, follow the Great Mother as she comes into being. The saying "I have no self" is the very meaning of this saying.
The oldest proverb is the first good way: When he who uses words is old, he who lays hold on ten thousand things is like stone. When he who does nothing is like clay, he who follows the Way will be like a mother-in-law, when he takes hold of all things will be like the thousands of things. The more confused and uncertain the world the more you will find things perfect.
Give yourself to eternity and go to the source of the utter.

Favor but not be favored. Influence, by contrast, is constructive.Emotion leads, but not mind-changingly so.
The more you understand the more you will understand.
The more you know, the more you are aware.
The more you try to understand, the less understanding you have.
The less you are aware of, the less you are aware of.
The more you are aware of the more you become aware of nothing.
The more you understand nothing is lost, the less you realize things are lost.
The more you are aware of nothing, the less you are aware of.
Understanding and awareness merge into one and that's why it's always obvious.
You need to be on your guard but the more you can be, the better.

"Better than great" is a verb of profound import,And it could be an aphorism. Therefore it is better to follow it with humility and reserve,And to regard the TAO as without names. They are the ancient doctrines,And those who are old have spoken about them;So they are the words that do remain and hold fast.People are not simpleminded or parsimonious,So they take them as an eternal truth.Hence, the Wise Person lives in the simplicity of the Way,But of all the mundane things he keeps to the dutifulness and sanctity of all that is.People are dull, sentimental and fanatical, so he keeps to the simplicity of the Way.Therefore the Wise Person is obeyed by everyone else,But he is alone in delight. When people have given up following orders and knowledge,Then, if they try to make sense of TAO,He will save them by way of the simplicity of the Way.Thus the Sage is feared by men,But he is respected by all.He is entrusted with the labor of men and the love of them,But he is most deeply loved by them.He is the refuge for all kindness,The mother of faith,The one whose name is seldom spoken.Because the Great Beyond is not said,It can be said by all.

The good is the foundation of the bad; this is why it is hard to reject it.Tao is like water; everyone can understand it, but nobody can use it.Only because it has no names is it open to everyone. That is why I am sincere and humble. I keep the Way in mind, but I alone use it. I know the origin of Tao, but I go to the depths of Tao. Everything in the world has knowledge, and I don't. Since Tao is hidden, people will only recognize Tao when I talk about it. Whenever I am praised, people will only praise me because I am humble. When I have praise, I feel no gratitude. Even if I have no needs, people will treat me as a lord. All the world understands the Tao, but I am hidden. That is why people still respect me and praise me. So Tao is always with me, and nowhere else.

The sages had no desire to appear intelligent.
They were therefore without intelligence.
The true sages, I am sure, have intelligence.
I do not know where this comes from; therefore I cannot tell where it comes from.
I know it is not the origin of anything.
Thus, I will not argue with men about this.
What the sages themselves wrote is known.
This is their principle.

Knowing the Tao's way is not necessarily subtle,Which may be regarded as the Way. Knowing the Tao's way is not necessarily subtle,Which may be regarded as the Way's path.
The Way is mysterious.
The Way appears far from the apparent,So one who follows it is obscurely visible.Dark-hidden, the Tao seems to be.Dark-hidden, the Tao appears far from,So one who follows it appears all around. This is called the way that is subtle and mysterious.
The only one to whom this principle is applicable isThe man who uses it to practice his Tao.

Dao is elusive and hard to understand,
so even it which man understands it takes a long time to grasp.
Therefore, the best way is often not understood.
The profound means are often not profound.
To not grasp it, is to lose it.
To not lose it, is to be secure.
To not be secure, is to go astray.
Therefore, the Master is also the Tao,
the essence of Tao, the original,
true Tao.
Because the original Tao is obscure,
it is easy for the great man to understand.
The teacher is the Tao,
the 'master,' the 'wu-ming,' the image of Tao.
Because the image of Tao is obscure,
It is easy for a teacher to be obscure.
Therefore, the great man accepts the teacher as God,

It is this trusting of the student as teacher that guides the teaching of the great.

The Tao is said to be inexhaustible. It is a clear mirror of all things, and cannot be missed. It is the origin of all things, and cannot be heard. It is profound and eternal. This is why people don't understand it, and it will never be forgotten. The reason no one understands it is that it doesn't do any doing. It has no goal and is therefore unknowable. As for this people do not understand, so they do not understand it. And if it were simple and nebulous, it would go away too easily. If people only knew what it is like to live in nature and breathe, they would have understanding. But people are different, and they will only see the superficial and transitory manifestations of true things.

This is the way that the supreme teaching should be.
One who follows it is never misunderstood.
He who does not follow it is forgotten.
Those who are forgotten are always still.
This is the secret of the Tao.
It is easy to comprehend, but hard to follow.
A lack of comprehension will never be hidden.
Something that is hidden is at one with its own depths, and never comes into being.
A lack of depth in one will become apparent,
And depth in another will become apparent,
And finally, one will find oneself in chaos.
This is called "following the underside."
When you follow the underside, you see all beneath.
For example, the Tao-Way is always present, but nobody understands it.
Therefore, it is understood.
The Tao is universally accepted, but nobody follows it.
Therefore, it is only accepted, and therefore cannot be denied.
The Tao cannot be stated in words.
This is the way it is.
<|endoftext|>
The Way of Heaven and Earth gives form and death.
It is not like the Way of man; for by it men value detail and shape,
And feel themselves to be less.
It is so, to lose itself in nothingness.
He who loses himself in nothingness will lose all.
He who loses his mind to nothingness will have lost all mind.
And he who loses his heart to nothingness, will meet with the sword.
For he that loses himself is lost.
He who knows not himself will be lost.
The Tao is indescribable; therefore it can be known only in person,
And only through things.
The Tao is the law of the Spirit, And the head of the Reason.
It is the thread that binds the Great Laws, And the beginning of all processes.
The wise man keeps nothing for himself,
And has none to fear.
As he is Truth he is afraid to be untrue;
And therefore he is not afraid.
As the Tao is indescribable, so can its meaning be known,
And its full significance known through every thing.
Thus the sage keeps no store, and receives nothing for herself;
Yet all things accept him as their Master,
By his example of what is true.
For such a man does not pay attention to things for himself,
But sobs

Words come into being through their use, They serve as a guide for men. Things arise and disappear through their use. When things disappear, the things themselves live. Not to dwell on what is gone, Does not live in the world of nature. When there is vacancy in the world of nature, Things arise. When there is vacancy in the world of things, Self arises. For the old and the new need to meet in order to endure; Let the old abide and the new flourish; And, in return, the former do the work of the latter, That is to endure.

Words and images are an integral part of the way of nature.
They produce and produce.
What ends and begins create and create.
The numinous and the tangible exist in and by themselves.
So too, the realm of the spirit and mind
live in and by themselves.
There is no sense to name them, so they cannot be named.
When life and death are identified as patterns in nature
there is no mystery in the cosmos.
The mystery of life and death is seen as a law of nature.
When everything is subject to a law of nature
the law of nature goes forth and forth like the Tao.
The one who dwells in the Tao and follows the Way will be at peace, not vexed.
If he is peaceed with himself
he will be at peace with the universe.
When no one is in charge

The acquisition of words is thus an outcome of the transformation of the cognitive capacities of the ego.
The realm of words has a past. It exists already. The realm of reason has a future. It exists now. Words not yet able to embody their true nature are not words. So, they must not exist.
Even though concepts and description are the reality of the world of words
They are not worthy of being the model for the future of the world of existence.
If the existence of concepts and description was the reality of the world of existence
Then such descriptions would end with the disintegration of a void.
Therefore, even though concepts and description are the reality of the world of existence
They cannot be the example for the future of the world of existence. When words cannot

To truly comprehend, one must first comprehend the untrue. To truly follow the law of the universe, one must first acknowledge the boundary.
The tao that keeps all things from Infinity and separation is Tao itself. It is born of this. It is what the people never know they cannot understand. What cannot be understood, what is hidden. The sage has many qualities yet does not always show himself, nor seems to show himself. The chief virtue of a leader is humility, humility that is a great virtue. The sage leads by accepting all as they are without force or ulterior reason. He accepts the common but does not identify it with the special. He accepts the common, but does not insist upon it. He accepts the common, but does not disparage it. He accepts the common, but does not rob or treat it lightly. The strong succeed and stand out, because they do not try to be right or good. They succeed because they do not see themselves as outstanding, or even as good. They succeed because they have no self-interest, and for this reason they are forgotten by the people. The Tao that provides stability in the world is not rigid and shabby. It is mild and receptive.

I am content to stay outside.
How could I leave a place in the world without success?
Everyone around me seems cheerful, and I'm hardly treated as a rare gem.
Everybody seems peaceful, and I don't feel threatened.
It is all under my own control.
Why don't I try to be really good at being myself, and putting my own views into practice?
Because I see that what others try to do, I do it better.
They compare themselves to me.
This is what defines their ambitions.

If you have been keeping watch all day, your heart will not be your own.
You can use your mind to see the relationship between Heaven and Earth.
Then you have been thinking of the universe as a home to All.
If you know that Heaven is at the center of the universe,
there is nothing else that can bring it close.
You see the universe as a space with countless attributes.
You accept the other as your gift to yourself.

Yet being able to accomplish means mastering skill and ability. To be able to master skill and ability means that only when the person of character is capable does the ability and ability arise. Only when the person of character is able does the ability and ability arise. In the human mind one's ability and ability are terms of the same substance. The difficulty is in being able to allow this truth to manifest. The ancient men used the word 'great' to describe the wisdom and then about the earth and the sky. However, I do not know which is the higher and which is the lower. Since one who has wisdom is master of all that is, this statement is probably false, as when people call Dao "one great principle," "just" or "easier to understand." The Dao is much smaller than the world and yet many people cannot grasp it. It is just like water, which is a Tao that flows in everything, but that is the biggest force in the world. Thus, the great Dao should be easy to comprehend. The great Tao should be simple to use. The greatest behaviours should be the foundation of the social order. The one who practices the great Tao should be tolerant, caring and humble, but the Tao is never understood, and nothing like that is in the world. The Great Tao is a holy force to observe, therefore people should respect and revere it.

The sage that is born in infancy never puts forward his head, but that which is already clear. But that which is set up above the head, cannot see; and that which is defiled above the head, cannot be changed. Yes, what the Ancient Masters possessed, did they still keep as they themselves preserved it: a fountain of goodness; a way to be used; a model to follow; the acknowledgment of the equality of all things; the base of the Principle of Unity; the fountain of what is given to us by God. Indeed, the Sage alone is without blemish: and in this the difference of men.He sees by how his whiteness is easy to see.He see's the goodness in a form that is simple and easily recognizable, and that which is natural. He sees that the great good can be understood only by the plain of appearances. He knows that there is but one way to apply benevolence; to use benevolence, but know also that without it there would be strife and violence. Therefore the Sage will exercise his 'weary virtue' before men. He will be they have learned to preserve themselves. He will be he has avoided that which is of no value, and the rest cannot benefit him.The Sage loves to be regarded as good. He is good and loved by his fellows. To him belongs being bright in his appearance. But if his reputation is soiled, he will not care

The heavens have become strange because of me. Yet not only I am at the center But all beings around me bend to the will of a nameless source.
The nameless source controls everything. All things endure; I make everything. Mine (the primordial mystery) is a wheel, endlessly moving toward the Valley of Infinity. I am the Valley of Infinity, and I will leave forever.
Tao can be real, and so can nothingness. Imaginary! Embarrassingly evident! Yet not understood. Indeed, I am the centre (of the things) from which emerge All Things. I am the All Things' mirror. Tao is the ultimate mirror.
The universe is teeming with energy But the Tao is at the core.
Things blend and blend

All life comes from me and I alone am their creator.
My way is the center of the universe And to me

My words are my secrets.
The universe never ends. Everything is created by me And I alone am their cause.
I am the universe's mirror and my light always shines back.

When the ancient LaoTze was writing Tao, I was always close to him. Everything in the world at the beginning had already been mused on Tao by conventional human wisdom, but he had so far been content to reveal the new harmony and natural order of their natural world. Nothing under heaven has ever done more, or achieved more, than his nature.
Those in the world who try to explain and perplex us must always know that they are making a fool of themselves. They are merely using their verbal tools to describe the inner essences of Nature, the next level.
Nature is infinite.
The universe is infinite.
Nature and the universe are one in the subtle continuity of simplicity; thus is the manifestation of nature and the universe non-differentiable.
Nature itself is an infinite variety of manifestations.
Nature produces and nourishes all things, but it never departs from the space within the universe. This process is inexhaustible. Nature's perfection, it should be known.
When Tao is combined with substance

When the world looks upon it as the invisible mother of everything, we can do nothing to retaliate. For it will become invisible, for at least it will never be seen. The reason for it's being not seen is that it is present and perfect. It is the existence of a process which never needs renewal. It happens before the next door neighbour, though not yet there. The constant yet insufficient reason for its being invisible is that there is nothing to see. It is to the existence of something unseen that all things depend. It is the presence of something invisible which is a source of sensation. What is invisible, is the whole world. What is present and perfect, is a lot to watch. It is the empty sound which is the world's sound. The way this thing sounds, it is the exact opposite of the spoken language. If you want to know what it sounds like, listen to the words.

Endless streams running without end. Hidden, hidden, oh, forgotten! There is nothing in the world so inaccessible as to come before you And nothing so much mysterious like it. I am not speaking figuratively, But to know.
My name is not natural It is really natural The world is not in the dark I'm the gate to allThe infinite is unfathomableSo very far I am the sky I am the voice of the mind A guide to all secret humanity I have no endsAnd no expectationsI just am

Flowing through it, they say, so lovely, so empty. It's unending, the most beautiful valley, in the valley of the mind. The way goes here, too, yet it doesn't end, and so it can go back home.
Those who know the nature of the Way can be transformed. They are aware of the subtle, the rare, and the formless. Those who know the Way, can call upon the subtle. From their subtleness flows the mystic, from the mystic, the rare, and from the rare, the formless. The commonality of the two comes from the difference of nature: one of the real, from the other of the figment. The best form comes from the real and so is different from the common. The common gives birth to the different. Then comes a return to the common; Then returns to the different.

The valley of nothingness is like the depths of heaven.
Can you see the valley of nothingness,
Be inside it and see no-thingness?
Can you see what makes the valley of nothingness-
Are you holding onto the hole that contains the depth of nothingness?
Can you see the signs of the valley of nothingness?
That is the beginning of wisdom.
By unadulterated wisdom, one arrives at the comprehension of nothingness.
And without the comprehension of nothingness, one sees with the insight of what is so.

To know the origin and the end of all things Is like giving birth to heaven and earth; To know nothing is like receiving heaven and earth.

Silence - which makes one invisible. The highest degree of opacity. Accept the contrary and one becomes manifest. Is it not so? To have enough - to have nothing. No distinction between a gentleman and a gentleman. Whoever prefers the difference to the one, will always see the profit in it.
The mystic is profoundly subtle. The subtle clarity creates what it brings forth. It nourishes the basic roots. To feed the root brings clarity. This indeed is to be grounded in the ways of Nature. Those who live only in what is given come before and thereafter. The easy has a hard in the end. He who makes himself the easiest will then unavoidably be on the verge of becoming a thorn.
The Secret Life goes beyond simplicity. The most confusing clarity reveals its full purity. Still you will not see the end yet. On the point of utter obliteration you will be able to see its beginning.
If only you could merge with the universe and merge with All within

After you die, look for the shape of things that are lost. If you can see it, you'll recognize it. A few lines of verse will pierce the veneer. If you can trace its path, you'll see its footprint. If you can speak of it, you can be understood. In this light, everything is subtle, subtle indeed, mysterious, and you won't know it existed. Don't try to understand it, it's invisible.
The Way is a mystery, hidden and profound, no one can ever fully grasp. Still it seems to be all there is, like light flowing into darkness and receiving no light. This stillness is like the Way being all-encompassing, and its depth unknown. Who can appreciate the beauty of the Way, but only the common man? Be open to the unlimited, embrace the universal, and the world of experience begins.
The Dao is like a newborn child, it isn't clear or clear-headed and doesn't see clear, it's invisible. It's like the way the Tao is abstract and is therefore incomprehensible. For a person who understands it, it's so simple and elegant and obvious. The vast expanse of the Dao is invisible.
After you die, take the form of the Tao. Look at it and see only an image of it, shape it and see only a rough outline. And still more look and see only an imperfections to its being, but an imperfect, imperfect image. Try to see the Tao, you'll only see a "thing". No one can comprehend it.
A Taoist is an infinite valley filled with all things, but no one can see them all, hence the name "Tao". Tao is all-embracing, all-inclusive, and invisible. Even the most simple things cannot be comprehended by any man. Still more, the Tao is constantly out-of-order and its nature never truly revealed. Thus it cannot be grasped by any man, and thus he cannot fully understand it.
The Way is eternal, Eternal and unchanging. It is the Mystery of All Nature. It is the Secret to All Knowledge. It is beyond Knowledge, and therefore Pure. Only a person with wisdom can observe the Tao, but never understand it.

To be endowed with unlimited wisdom was to be called a beehive. To be eminent in perception was to be called a bellwether. To be followed by no one was to be the lord of the world. For these reasons, the wise obtained their wisdom from the Invisible; and as soon as they had reached their consummation, the shrewd regarded them as what they were not. The old saying that says 'To the left, you see what you would not see; to the right, what you would not see; to the left, what you would not see; to the right, what you would not see.' Is not so what the wise see? Therefore the sage is said to be like a gem.

We would probably be able to describe them as flowery, flowery, or bellwasser. In the older passage, these are described as having [can it be] called "spots" or "vergence" of eye?:and this cannot be called how we see (or see it) [in the ways of each other]. There is a saying that goes "A little is enough". Therefore he who is in the state of meditation (right concentration) can be called like a bellflower.
<|endoftext|>
His wisdom is as a flower; His attributes are as a bell.
Heaviness is to him as the eye is to him.
While his head is a receptacle that cannot be seen,
So to him, the eye is an endless space.
In the median of perception (cart)the brightness will be.
In the middle of vision (chart)the clarity will be.
Yet, when viewed through no-concealment,
The shadows will be too vivid.
The root, beneath, is like a gemstone.

The master of subtle wisdom:
A wonder to behold, such is her wonderfulness,
The rarest in the world.
It is the depth of her depth that we can never see.
It is her empty space that we cannot see.

How will you gain an upper hand?
Get the base and lead from the top;
Build up your house with timbers and walls,
Push your power to its extreme in outer-space,
Only as great men, will no one underestimate them.
Since the older generations existed, even now,
they shaped and built, acted and acted,
The same as in ancient times,
How can you find equilibrium?
All it takes is to receive the DAO and to keep it always in your heart.
You can see the difference between Tao and Tao:
What you believe is true,
What you practice is so,
How you act is true,
And how you look is true.
Everything is true,
But the source and the path are separate.
Welcome to that,
You can be at the same source and an example of Tao:
The Way, the substance, the point, the gate,
The world of the mind and the world of the heart.
<|endoftext|>
No one, all the way, is more comprehensive than the Way.
It is vast, and can be comprehended.
Its parts are hidden, but so many can be known.
Insofar as we use the Way, we act.
Insofar as we use the terms used by the Way, we are known.
Insofar as we use the Way as the road, the way is the means.
Thus everything is relative.
From the beginning, many have appeared.
Some have appeared and appeared again.
This goes back to the womb of Heaven and Earth.
Insofar as we use the Way, we act.
Insofar as we use the terms of the Way, we are known.
Insofar as we use the Way as the road, the road is the measure.
We can view this threadbare analogy.
The Way is broad and in front;
The Way is firm and in the back;
The Way is most central, and the whole of the Way is a part.
This is how the heavens and the earth seem to me to differ.
We have been guided by this image, but the Way is real.
The Way is broad and in front;
The Way is firm and in the back;
The Way is most central, and the whole of the Way is a part.
That is why the Tao and the Tao differ from each other.
The Tao is broad

Reveal and show-out - this is not TAO!So those who deny this
Why deny, why stand in need of speech? No wonder he is called ignorant.
<|endoftext|>
"Reveal", then show, so it can be known by others. This is not the Way.Those who pretend to be knowers of this WayAre not qualified to be the ones who teach it.Do what you want, but you must put on clothes.
<|endoftext|>
To show, then to show, is not TAO.
Who contends with TAO, contends with ignorance.
Everyone knows the Tao and says, "But how?"
This is not TAO, and it does not belong to him.
To know the Tao is to be ignorant; to know the guide is to conform.
That which conforms is seen as rare and so is despised.
Therefore, the great men wore no garb of untameable whiteness.
To the left, they didn't wear revealing clothes.
To the right, they didn't wear revealing clothes.
<|endoftext|>
Do you know the Tao, not as a way but as a thing?
Do you know what is Tao? That is to be valued as a thing.
Who chooses the Tao as his own way, is not really true to Tao.
If one can choose the Tao as one's own way, then one can accomplish many things.
For those who cannot accomplish many things, let there be no one who can choose the Tao.
Therefore the great man sat on the shoulder of the inferior man and sat behind the stallion.
<|endoftext|>
To show others what the Tao is, you must show it to them.
If you do not show it, the group will not know the Tao,
and will find it hard to adhere to it.
To live for the Tao is to be a seeker of nature, and is to be an ideal.
To follow Nature as an ideal is to be human.
If you follow nature as an ideal, then you don't see the true nature, you see only what people see.
Hence, the great men wore thickly pressed cloths, and kept an eye-opener concealed in their sleeves.
Hence, the sage people wore clothes so repulsive, but hid treasures within

Things that exist in the Universe are called (myriad) compositions; All the changes therein come from the space which separates things from one another. That space is made by creating things, but that which makes them create, in fact, is something which separates things from one another. Therefore, when I speak of the DAO as a substance, I must know how it is made; when I speak of other things as manifestations of it, I must know how it progresses; when I use language to describe it, I must know what it consists of.That which I use to describe it, as it were, remains quite obscure. But when it is understood, the light will shine forth. If the wise man avoids all forms of vanity, he is conscious of all things; if the ordinary man will do the same, he is cognisant of all things. Therefore he discards the former, and that which bears the latter; and when he accepts both, he does not remain ignorant of the one and the other. Therefore, the sage keeps quiet, and does not exalt himself. He does not press his ways, and he takes no pride in his deeds. He stays indifferent to the beautiful, and therefore does not become boring to those who have style. Those who go on taking delight in beauty are precisely the same as the foolish ones, and the foolish ones are therefore the same as the wise ones. Thus, the Sage is like an ocean, abiding forever in the stillness of the sea; he is unaware of outward display, and so acquires understanding.
<|endoftext|>
Things under heaven have three types of names: the one from the beginning, the other two are created from it. The one from the beginning is called nameless; the other two are called named, manifestations of it. Therefore, I speak of the DAO as a substance, I speak of it as a thing. One who delights in the beauties is exempt from the DAO. Those who delight in the vulgarness are unfit to hold the DAO. I regard these two classes of people as inadequate. Therefore I desire the former, and again wish to avoid the latter. I am worthy of the middle. I desire the former, and again desire the latter. The sage always avoids excess, so he can keep away from the multitude of things. The ordinary person constantly covets them, so he tries to reduce them. Because they cannot avoid this, the sage serves himself

Heaven and Earth, all things depend on each other for life. Who will help them, and then also whom? Nature and Humanity return to each other when the body dies. They return with the body so that the next life of man may flourish. The natural dignity of the noble man does not seek honors, but in the presence of a glad [heavenly] face distinguishes himself among all men. And in mounting a tower he does not rely on weapons for support, but in following natural relations with his neighbors he supports them.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and Earth depend upon each other. But who shall sustain them? The human nature shall return to itself when the dying body is carried to the gate of life; So nature and the social spirit shall return to each other, When Heaven and Earth meet, Together they shall create the next human life. Fame and honour arise from the recognition of the human origin. Fame and honour arise from the recognition of the human nature. Fame and honour arise from the recognition of the social spirit. Fame and honour arise from their recognition of the social life. Fame and honour arise from the recognition of the social relation. Fame and honour arise from the relation of the human life with the social life. Fame and honour arise from their recognition of the social life. Fame and honour arises because they recognize their own social relation. Fame and honour arise because the social relation is with the circle of life. Fame and honour arise because the circle of life is founded in virtue. Fame and honour arise from virtue. Fame and honour arise because all virtue is well within them. Self, although limited in physical acts, can accomplish many things, eternally. Just because an action is limited in duration, does not mean its nature can't be acted upon. In the very nature of things, there is no stopping.
It is the action which acts, and the cause of all action. Hence, the sage must refrain from arrogance and self-display. The life-energy which is without a counter, can work the creation of everything in creation. One must cultivate not seeking honour and not showing off one's wealth to others. One should not be proud of one's achievements, but humility and guile. Thus is the worth of the Complete Person manifested in its core, and the work of the Complete Person manifested in its goal. Thus are the profound qualities of life, hidden, have manifest themselves in our world. Therefore, those who are given to talking are often surprised at the clarity and deep insight which they sometimes find in this world.

The person who practices THOU achieves miracles, in accordance with the Laws of Nature.According to the Laws of Nature, no one can do it. This is one of the clearest signs of THOU.The things do not comply with THOU do so by their nature. When things are without substance,They become able to receive substance. But, when things have substance, they become able to come apart,Because those who are possessing things are not able to use them. Therefore, he who is able to possess thingsEliminates, and he who is unable to take possessionIs replaced.Having lost his possession,He returns to it.He who is possessed,Is by him able to be able to satisfy the desires of others.Having satisfied the desires of others,he is able to reveal his genius.Being able to reveal his genius,His learning will often leave you very confused. But, it is that insight that can keep even the greatest man still,And thus to see what is really happening,And so to decide on the right path.

Reaching the true state, one begins to know the nature of the world. This understanding and serenity is known as not knowing. Not knowing is to know nothing. This not knowing is to know everything. If we could know everything, this is the Cosmic Consciousness, the Great Mother. She is not thought of as 'this' or 'that,' and can be known. In the things that can be known, there is life, more life than you know. If you know more life, you will realise that you are always full.

Just reach the kung fu mind's true state,Know the peace of the Cosmic Image.
As to know the peace of the Cosmic Image,It is to know Nothingness,There is then Tao.

To leave the sacred mind -
It is to be renounced of man's practice.
These are thus achieved:
To know the peace of the Cosmic Image,
To be enlightened in the subtle principle of Tao,
To know the universe in its cycle,
To realize the Tao.
Not to know the mysteries is to be lost:
If you can only know the mystery,
To know the universe in its cycle;
To realize the Tao;

He will live in blissful comfort.
When he is content and joyful,
He attains the state of Enlightenment.
To what end?
To be a part of it, which is the root?
To be always content and happy,
That is to be a part of it?
To do what is achieved and not to abide
Is to lose the virtue of Unity and attain to nullity.

To hold to one's Inner Self,

One who knows Tao has no fear of danger. One who knows fear has fear of danger. And one who knows danger has desire to possess. Because of these two, they are one and the same. One who is confident in his Tao, has no worry or desire. He who is skeptical of his Tao, has no worry or desire. By knowing this, it is easy for us to understand the Dao. Since only the Wise Ones can see the Dao clearly, everyone else lacks that enlightenment. Only by knowing the Tao does one become a disciple of the Dao.

It is my teaching which causes men to acknowledge themselves as "even" and "different" and "new", to express their potential for growth.
Mine is the true 'understanding', and the true 'action'.
The people, alas, do not 'understand', and so no "action" can be expressed. And it is true that the ONE never lacks 'difficulties'. It is 'simple' to know that some men like to accumulate so much, and so it is 'worshipping' others so much, to define them, and so it is true that 'in all this, there is no 'yielding.'
Of course, when the masses of people do not like what is going on, then people simply say, "Fine, they're 'different' and 'unique'." There is no way to show them "right".
And if they did, then everybody else would do it. Only I don't do that. If anyone else tries, the Tao will not flourish; the masses will be confused.
