If there were no desire the reason why the universe acts in the way it does would not need a reason.Because of desire there is a need for the use of reason.Non-duality is a source of peace.Non-duality is a source of enlightenment.Non-duality is a source of love.Non-duality is a source of merit.Non-duality is a source of immortality.Because there is one source of morality, there is another source of morality. This is why the sage has no need of a reason for things. The world knows where the reason for the existence of this existence endears itself to him.Because of the Tao, those who have learned the Tao never turn away from it.Therefore, the sages act for the sake of what they do, and enjoy things as much as possible. Those who act without needing to be perfect, enjoy very little. Those who are perfect, all end up in the middle.

The virtue of the ten thousand things is non-violent, a factor in Nature, even though its action cannot be seen to be subtle and subtle. The virtue of the solitary soul is non-violent, its action has effects, even though its ability to exist and act is mysterious. The virtue of the relationship between a person and their beloved is non-violent, its effects exist, even though its ability to exist and act is so subtle and intangible. The virtue of the good conscience is non-violent, the effects are apparent, even though its ability to exist and act is so real. The virtue of faithfulness is non-violent, the effects are observed, even though its ability to exist and act is so complete. The virtue of Unity is non-violent, the effects are apparent, even though its ability to exist and act is so complete. Therefore, as those who follow the Tao never resort to violence, so too the person who makes no claims in the world hardly need violence for the reasons of their being in the world. The person who is perfectly content with what they have has no need for violence, so too the one who loves things is without need for violence. Therefore, to act spontaneously, the Tao will only ever intervene.Yet those who are aware of the Tao will never resort to violence. Therefore, the truly learned act for the benefit of what they do not yet possess, so the truly learned act naturally. Therefore, to act without concern, the Tao will

Tao is like a great river that carries and flows but never reaches a point of no return. The intelligent man acts yet he never stops. The foolish person acts yet he never stops. These are outstanding principles of the Way.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao (the Way) is as the great rivers, like streams in the desert, it has no destination but never flows.A virtuous man acts, yet he has no intention. An uncarved block, yet it is never finished. If one acts but never strives, one becomes bright. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes strong. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes powerful. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes noble. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes great. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes a Saint. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes a Virgin. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes a mother. If one acts and tries to achieve, one becomes a valley. When too many minds begin to agree, they forget the nature of the Tao.Therefore, the Sage feels the great Tao to be great.Because, he forgets the Tao, he may be great. The wisdom of old knows the great, and forgets it himself. Therefore, the Sage realizes the Great but does not seek to be it.Because he does not seek to be the Great, he becomes the Great. He who teaches others the Tao, will teach others the substance of their Way.He can be the substance of their Way and not the substance of their Way.But if one struggles, he will not fail.He may become what he thinks he is, but he will never be one to accept this.He may realize the light, but he will never be one to accept this.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is like the great river of the desert.
It does not move all the way,
It cannot return to its source.
Therefore, the good act,
But do not rule.
The wise leader acts, but does not rule.
The unworked wood is finished,
Yet its ends never are found.
Even the greatest achievers need guidance.
They take action, but do not govern.
I just put it this way:
A wise person treats as if it were unspeakable.

The square root of its nature is an action of the universe.Do not consider what is done insignificant;Imagine what has not been namedHow is it that it is easy? What is small can be great; What is numerous can be rarer; One who owes his life to others has his own well-being;One who owes his life to Heaven has his own heavenly welcome. Thus without desireOne achieves his goal; They who can understand do not miss a thing; They who can understand do not exaggerateOne's achievements are objective; He who can accomplish his goals shall find themwith no trouble; There are situations that can be completedThere are situations that can be improved. Therefore, the wiseOne does not strive for greatnessIn order to gain it;One who in him it is too greatAlways thinks that there is nothing in him that cannot be accomplished.
<|endoftext|>
The square is the method of the universe; it will never cease in acting.Never thought of as an insignificant action, it is easy to observe. And its manifestations alone make one deem them insignificant;how insignificant, how that they are indeed within the realm of the square! Thus they will not fail to come to the fullest people.Even having no contract yet there are multitudes who owe allegiance. The one is then well to be regarded as one of great honour, the other as that of just him.A crowd is in accord with the square! Thus is it he will have the highest honour.Because he is ardent he cannot fail to achieve his ends.He may like to value things that are small. But because he cannot rest upon them he is free from such matters. Therefore, when difficult affairs are attempted; then he has nothing to contend with.Because he never contrives nothing is able to be accomplished. For he who simply considers others insignificant is easily underestimated.Because he is of the simple mind he cannot be belittled. Therefore, the person who has much ability never in his life ever considers that his is that which is lacking in others. Therefore, when he encounters difficulties,He will overcome them without a struggle. Therefore, the Superior Man regards difficulties as no trouble. For what is difficult is of no trouble,Therefore he is always in peace with it.Therefore, One who regards the square as insignificant becomes one of the people. The multitude of things becomes one of the people. The small is of the people. And the great is of the people. Thus the

The great and small fail to refer to each other, and therefore one and the same.
The Great Way, the way, does not aim at improvement; it can do better than that.
Great Discord, what's discord, is called the Way: it does better than that.
The myriad things cannot be described; it is also the Way; they cannot be described; it is also the Way.
If the things are alike, I must call them "the Way"; if they differ, I shall call them "the Way."
If I follow the Way with Non-action, I must avoid doing things that are against the Way.
If I follow the Way with action, I must avoid doing actions that are against the Way.
The manifestations of the Unseen are multitudinous; they are the Way; their differences are called names.
The Great Tao is small. It is less than the Way.
The tao of the Way is the uncarved block; the smallest of uncarved blocks.
When I look for peace within myself
I find only chaos;
I see only the appearance of disorder
I search for calm within myself
I find only the subtle, mysterious
I see only what is within me
To accept and overcome all that arises is the Tao; to accept and overcome, is the Way.
One who sees this way is one who can be one with everything.
One who sees this way, can be one with the myriad things.
One who sees this way, can be one with only themselves.
When being small makes me unstable,
I must find peace within myself.
When being small will make me unstable,
I must find security within myself.
When a question is contentious, I must distinguish between insignificant and important.
When having found peace within myself, I accept and love the things within me.
One who is detached from all under heaven
Is always in the middle of conflict.
Therefore, one who knows his place and is not self-centered finds peace in his separate self.
For this reason, one who is inward-directed is able to emerge as a genuine self-understanding.
The sage gives up knowing his place.
He is able to look at the myriad beings, seeing the distinction between an individual and the myriad beings.
He is able to distinguish between the individual and the myriad beings.
Therefore, he rejects the one, and accepts the

Because he is humble and does not claim credit for his efforts, he is the best at justifying himself. When the sage is not qualified by knowledge, experience, or wisdom,He comes closest to the truth.

Withdraw from passion and frustration and you become a sage.
For the sake of nonaction,
Emptiness becomes manifest.

If you see nothing, you become enlightened. If you see a great thing, you make it your own.
If you see nothing, you become a great thing.
If you see things as equal, you become a thing. If you see things as one, you become a series.
If you see things as things, you become a group.
If you see the small as great, the small as great, the many as great, the few as many.
All these come from the condition of stillness and stillness.
All these come from the condition of affairs.
Those who act have no power.
Those who act must act for themselves. Those who act, then must act for themselves.
They who do nothing have not enough energy.
All things are done for their own sake.
All things come from their own life.
Therefore, all things return to their own life.
Thus, the truly wise are without a name.
Therefore, they are never lost.

Seeing, one must see the Great.

but for not being satisfied there is nothing at all.
Acting in this way moves the thing. This is called acting without acting.

Because you do not exist in the one.
Hold on to nothing, and you will stay in the state of peace.
This will always be safe.

Heaven and Earth form a single whole and in it all things.
So they alone are always;
by holding to this they feel safe.
How, then, does it happen that Heaven and Earth are always so safe?
Heaven and Earth are so like each other,
so very like each other.
How much like each other does Heaven and Earth,
how much so,
how far apart from each other,
how much so,
what is so to the other;
so different from each other,
so inauspicious,
so disagreeable!
Let me therefore, I must confess,
so mean,
and, indeed,
I will go back to my earliest being,
to the place where I was before the great flood.

Nature, having obtained all that is necessary for its existence, and being concerned for its propagation, reverts to a gross process.
Having attained its grossness, it acts on behalf of all things.
How are these things, having obtained their perfection?
They achieve perfection through non-action.
How do they attain perfection through non-action?
By taking the small as the great, and the few as the many.
How do they attain perfection through non-action?
By taking as little attention to what is hereof as to what is there.
How do they attain perfection through non-action?
By moving gradually to the simplest affairs.
How do they attain perfection through non-action?
By acting in motion rather than in fear.

The Taohyus hold that the highest principle can act only as it is in the way it is. The perfection of the highest principle is never far from realization, although in some ways it is more subtle than in the average. It seems to act only as it is. Its apparent ability is only attained by formlessness, or a gradual mastery of its material powers. Through its subtlety, it seems to act. The simplicity of its ability is only realised when its material qualities become apparent. Its image is the idea that of all things, none surpass it. And its other members, although they appear insignificant, are equally minor. When it acts, it is by taking it as it is. When the Tao is immanent, it is also manifest in the Universe. Its potential is the subtlety of the material things.

People have hidden values, people have too much devotion, and people have lost their way.
Using the Tao will help people to cope with the following problems:
To help a homeless person:
Cut the rope to make room in his house,
Clean the place up.
To help an angry person:
Strip and polish his clothing,
Sharpen his weapon.
A bird and a flower cannot live forever.
The sharper a knife, the longer it will be.
A strong man must be humble.
Be kind and gentle.
Hold on to things.
A man who wants to be the center of the world will never succeed.
People think they are perfect by staying so far away from perfection.
Perfection, well, doesn't exist.
That's why the master does not follow this style.
He completes everything with the simple essentials.
No one gets hurt, no one is confused, no one falls.
<|endoftext|>
The value people have in their lives is a clue to how precious their Tao is.
The hunger for material life is a clue to how pointless their lives can be.
Simple adherence to Tao will help to solve this problem.
For those with a basic nature, simple acceptance of the way:
By cleansing the mind of fantasies of greed and desire
They will also be drawn to the Source's path
For those without a basic nature:
Their ability to observe the laws of nature will increase
By focusing on the clarity of reality
And they will also be drawn to all the possibilities
By making the common folk laugh
It will be a great achievement to see that all people can laugh.
In this way, a leader will not compete for the hearts and minds of others.
He will focus his work on the more difficult aspects of life.
These more difficult aspects of life:
Will make them extremely receptive.
The teaching of Tao does not require words.
It lies within the practice itself.
Those who see in it no vision, none who come to know its workings,
Will find no comfort.
The preceptor may dwell in subtlety,
His subtlety within the very form of subtlety,
In the habits of the spirit,
His spirit within the form of the form,
In his kinship with the world,
In all his knowledge.
He may keep an eye on things as they exist,
And know

What is without conduct can be applied to.
What is always in motion is regarded as a model for simplicity.
What is mild can be portrayed as sweet.
What is small can be acted upon.
What is grossed can be observed.
Not the method by which affairs are worked.
To be applied involves the potential for failure.
For the ways of Way in affairs are easy,
And the following activities are hard.
Therefore the experienced man never strives to attain greatness;
For he only engages in what is done.
Thus, the accomplished man is without exception recognized.
He is able to accomplish only what he can accomplish.
Therefore, the wise man follows the tendency of things.
He acts without seeking to control.
He accomplishes the smallest task with the greatest skill.
Thus, he completes his work.
<|endoftext|>
What is non-intrusive will not be dispensed with.
What is changeless will be praised.
What is middling will be censured.
What is deep will be illuminated.
Not by the method of action can anything be acted upon,
And by the method of action action is not pleasant,
For the virtue of "things" is profound,
And by the methods of things deep.
Therefore the learned do not have this urge to reach great powers,
And in their endings are achieved.
Thus there is neither great, nor small, nor great in the end.
He who is not open-minded will not be entirely trusted.
He who does not fail in his task will get it done.
Therefore the wise man is in tune with the way things are,
and neither asks nor asks for the results,
And, taking things easy, follows his views.
Always he takes it easy, and does it with the utmost ability.
So, because he can get things over, the people do not doubt.
So the expert can achieve great things.
He gets great by taking his things easy.
This is what it means to be open-minded.
<|endoftext|>
Excessive good and excessive evil tend to produce conflict.
Confusion is a vital quality, useful to the development of the Tao.
Therefore the wise man seeks serenity and quietude, accepting the difficult and daring the easy.

Therefore, a sage will not seize his destiny,
By winning and losing is his greatness; and in losing he is he greatest of them all.
He rolls up his sleeves and acts like a horseman in battle;
Yet he never resorts to throwing himself into battle,
Racing through the chaos to victory
And never resorts to taking casualties.
This is precisely why the great warriors never fight.
A person who does so is playing on the brink.
And a war has no end.
What is on the verge of ending?
What is on the brink of going through all the possibilities?
What is on the verge of ceasing to be?
In the end, one who is clever is skillful.
He is not clever, and so has no flaws.
He is not doing what he should, and yet there is hardly any resistance.
He is not making an effort, and yet there is hardly any resistance.
He is doing what he must, and yet there is hardly any resistance.
To be clever is to be clever in that which is not true.
He who can not see what is not there will not see what is there.
He who can not see what is there, will not see what is there.
The greatest things are difficult to see,
The easiest things to do.
Things are great because they do not remain small.
They are great because they are easy to do.
And so, the greatest things are done slowly.
The easiest things are done quickly.
And so, the most difficult things are done quick.
Because there is a time when nothing is easy,
The most difficult things are done slowly.
The great man does not let such things intrude.
He doesn't let his greatness go to waste.
So, when he is ready, he becomes a mere child.
The wise and the foolish always have the same origin
After they are born, they differ only by one.
That one isn't a foolish one
That one is a foolish one.
So, a wise man will never let himself be caught up with foolishness.
Therefore, a wise person is not foolish.
So he can see a future without clinging to the present.
The foolish are bright but not bright.
The same goes for the foolish.
The best thing is a waste of time.
The worst thing is a waste of effort.
And so, the worst thing is a waste

Truly, there is nothing to own. The noblest thing a man can do is to be without desire. Therefore, nothing is his only need. He becomes, therefore, what he is, as if not needing to need anything at all. Being without desire, he gains everything in the world. To him, as if not having need, all good is won.To him, as if not having need, there is always virtue. To him, as if not having need, there is always peace. To him, as if not having need, there is only happiness. Therefore, he can be nothing and still know something. Not in awe of nothing, therefore he is able to accomplish his great deeds. To know he has nothing to do, makes him light-hearted.Having nothing to do, he finds a lot to do.Being light-hearted, he is no stranger to greatness. If you are too heavy-hearted, you will become the subject of ridicule. If you do not know the light, you will drift blindly into disaster. Therefore, it is the depth of a sage's heart that he does not grasp to anything at all. Not in the first place knowing where to fall, he leaves nothing to be forgotten.

People who ignore their flaws and turn left lose their desires;
people who aim for perfection in work never need words
people who strive to do things achieve never achieve.
And people who are neither muddled nor confused
need never be appreciated.
A true ruler gives the people joy and grows them
and takes them even after they die.
Without catering to desire, they go about in simple joy.
Not giving credit, they are forgotten.
Taoists respect the things around them and will not stop at any triviality,
we can learn this lesson.
The taoist tries to be present and his presence is to be sought.
It is said that those who look for it in a non-existent thing will find it within.
Things are confused in the world, this is why the taoist always holds fast to things that can be grasped.
In making an effort, his goal is really small.
Therefore the taoist will always succeed.
He does not try to act too much, so he lives a quiet life.
He wants nothing, his life is without worries.

Not that one prefers the way of that which is; that one does not wish to desire much; And does not wish to devote oneself to other things. A man of supreme virtue doesn't demand to be praised. He doesn't exhibit his function in a specific way; He can tell without naming things. The sages of old never said much and did not show off, He performed his task without ceremony. He carried on his work with the utmost care. He didn't go from thing to thing or from dish to dish. Everything made up of small parts came from a dish that he didn't want to finish.

The mind of Tao doubly attains harmony.

To understand the essence of the Tao

A person can accomplish great deeds, yet be powerless to hold to the ideals he employs. Is a person to be the perfect model for all under Heaven, but does he intend to remain a "solitary" model for them?Has a person become so removed from the full embrace of nature that he denies all sense of the natural? If the man with Tao is not constantly manifesting himself in society, how can he be regarded as a model?Without going beyond the reach of the Tao, how can he be regarded as a "man of good character"?And if a person who practices Tao is always shut out from it, how can he be regarded as "the model for others"?Therefore, if you desire a ruler who is worthy of being a model for others, then go beyond the reach of Tao, and you will be to the people what an abyss of calamity has been cast upon you.

Those who have attained greatness in life are identified with their progress in action.Yet in their actions, the methods remain. Is it because they are so subtle and so refined that they can separate their thoughts from each other?Their ingenuity cannot be exhausted, so if they are ever detached from one another, they do not cease to be at one another's backs.Their body is long since wasted, and therefore they cannot divide their energies.Their minds have long since become artificial, so that they have no path for their minds in common.Their life is so broken, that if they ever try to make much of it, it would immediately break up.Therefore,The man who is good at knowing his own heart will leave this (inner world) behind and find its strength; The man who is adept at employing the way of Infinity will remain where it is and will not be mired in it;The man who is possessed of Tao, will not lose sight of it, and will be able to know how to be everything to all. Therefore those who are good at following the Way find it hard to lose sight of the Way, and those who are good at comprehending the way find it easy to find it.To those who know what they are doing, they regard it as no difficulty,To those who are good at following the Way, they regard it as no matter,To those who are good at comprehending the way, they regard it as nothing,And when they are inexpert at following them, they are unable to make a good

When we treasure leisure over work and abundance over scantiness, how hard must it be to create something?
How often shall we have trouble over simple pleasures!
What has happened is easy to see; what is done is plain to see.
The means which can be followed will be visited. And for things too big to be helped with a hand, others will have to be helped with a hand.
For things too small to be helped with a hand, others will have to be helped with a hand.
For things too difficult to be assisted with a hand, others will have to be assisted with a hand.
When a great host is so hard to stir, the work of a great guest should be the great guest.
High matters are easily made easy.
Impossible is the way in which they are accomplished.
Therefore it is that the sage knows to be quick, and yet finds that he is slow; that he knows how to apply himself, and yet finds he is not so free of desire; that he knows how to flatter and yet find he cannot spare for his behaviour.
He is in a manner not fast-tending, yet needs hardly to be pushed.
Though he may so blunt and harsh, yet he is still clear.
The sage knows to avoid extravagant words, yet finds that he takes no greater risk than others.
The sage is frugal in his measures, yet finds he is not forced to make many attempts.
Because he does not consider himself to be clever, he is therefore able to do things the sage does not do.

The clever man of old was the student of the sage. It wasn't to appear smart, for he acted as though he did not notice his ability, nor did he think he did. The lesson learned is he often doesn't notice achievements because he tries them all hard. You are there, and you will find nothing. Don't think it's easy, try harder. Trying is different from refusing a lesson. That lesson doesn't grow old. When things change, keep on trying. If you look for the easiest things, you won't find them. Achieve and do not presume, consider situations as hard as they are. Master all and receive none. Treat all as important, and receive none. This is how it is that the most accomplished person rejects the easy.

Skillful beings differ only in natures. I know how to judge by this: They have become natures, and I know how to describe by their natures. They are good at enjoying, at acting with compassion, at having treasure, at being free of anxiety, at having purpose. Some of them have become very wealthy. Some of them have become distinguished. Some of them have become strong. Some of them have become ugly. Some of them have become small. Some of them have become smallness. Some of them have become delicacies. Some of them have become merits. Some of them have become limits. Some of them have become time. Some of them have become limits. Others of them have become spaces. Some of them have become beings. Some of them have become things. Some of them have become worlds. Those who are adept in those things do not become dull, and so they are able to overcome the great. Accomplishing by degrees, few will succeed. From what is given, it is only this that we can make a promise. By degrees of the great, and what is also something to be in and of itself, we learn the least. By degrees, it is only that. We learn the best of things and differ from them.

Surrender everything to fate.
Break every ice with your bare hands.
Bring everything to life.
Worship only what is natural,
And do not presume to be.
Become what you do not wish to be.
Be free from desire,

The Way by Way that is done;

To breathe the life of nothingness,
To make living even free from attachment,
To unite the multitude with its earth,

Let the void encompass the vision, Yet let there remain no obscuring, And yet let the sound be silent. It's all together unhewn: How could it be the same?: It is as it is once for all. What is in it is there. What happened in it happened. When things come in front of you, be there. When things move ahead of you, be ahead. When I perceive something, it exists. When I experience a thing, it is there. The way of the sage is not changeable: It is the essential source of movement. The pace of the sage is not too fast. From the standpoint of the outer world, what is the meaning of nature's radiance? From the standpoint of the inner world, what are the manifestations of the activity of activity? Thus, in the beginning of all things, the Way appeared as tiptoeing on the left-hand path.

From the standpoint of the world, what does the world look like?
From the standpoint of the self, what does the self look like?
Therefore, he who looks will see no departing. He who takes in his hands, does not make haste. He who carries, does not reject what is hard. He who produces, does not refuse what is small. He who merges with things, does not venture to be alone. He who progresses, proceeds without pause.
Therefore,
How could the world look so differently from itself?
How can the self appear to the self so different?
To the self, what is seen is where there is nothing left. What is seen is where there is no a hole. What is seen is where there is no space.
How could the self appear to other things?
Other things, when they emerge, are marked as having been there before.
How can the self appear to other things?
To other things, everything comes into being.
It is only by becoming for the self that what exists can enter into existence.
How can the self be like other things?
For other things, simply by acting as they do is what comes to be.

Following the Tao Way and aware of the limitations of life, giving up will not be a big loss.
Tao is like water.
What is in the water is solid and flowable.
What is out of the water is fluid and sometimes hard to see.
Therefore, the wise is like water.
The Wise Person is able to master all things in the world.
Knowing the limitations of the world, one can be unbiased, know the extremes of the world, in order to use these in keeping the universe in balance.
The world is shaped by The Tao Way,
Without the Tao Way everything is on its own.
There are positive, negative and light sides of everything.
Being able to know what is happening to everything is the very essence of wisdom.
Knowing the one side is enough to have enlightened;
Being ignorant is enough to be truly ignorant.
No matter how much things are advanced, nothing is achieved,
Because they are still.
What can be done depends on the mind, not on things.
Follow your heart and you will see things as they are and you will not feel like you are making a big deal of it.
All things are a process, like the TAO itself, and nothing is impossible,
Only you won't realize it yet, and how little you want to be a matter of shock, delight or dismay.
You will look before you know it and not see things you want to be.

The truly perfect man is like a wellspring.
It never fails;
It is always there.
Without thought, it does the work of all that flows in and out of it.
It is so deep and bright.
In it no distinction is necessary.
It returns to all things, and all return to it.
The Tao to man is like the sea.
It is thin and strong,
The beginning of everything.
Without form or distinction, it returns to the invisible.
The Unknowable is nothing;
No division separates it from this world.
The Tao to man is neither condition nor limit;
It brings to all things hope and fear,
Till they succeed in the Tao.
For there is nothing true, nor false, nor vain,
Yet it returns to what is, and

If a headmaster were not smart enough, there would be an uprising of the people. If a wise man was not wise, his followers would have their own way.The great leaders knew when to play it safe, and avoided what the people call "difficult questions." How great is the 'Difficult Question'? Have you met a person? Have you spoken to them? Have you loved them? If you are far from people, who will trust you? Yes, yes, the whole world.

If an insightful, responsible leader were not fit to lead, the populace would turn to chaos. If a good person with great wisdom were not fit to lead, the populace would turn to chaos. So, if great leaders are always wise and abounding in kindness, they do not cause great disasters. How does that sound? Those who have lost true faith will turn to materialism. And those who have lost true faith will live in materialism. That's wrong. The leader ought to be without attitudes or emotions and attitudes should be avoided. That sounds like arrogance. So the leader should know when he must be alert, then he knows when to turn his eyes towards the people.

When the superior official is not intelligent,The masses would rebel. When the wise official is not clever,The masses would reject him.One who is a wise man is not afraid of the dark. How much so for the leader? It is to the left as to the right. If he goes left, the people will join him,If he goes right, the people will leave him.How foolish! If he wants to be great,He should keep to his humble place.Humble is not to be praised, And humility is not to be ridiculed. Not to praise one's head; Not to mock one's merit; Not to despise one's subordinatesAnd never to allow yourself to be disgraced. That is arrogance. If you do not use words or say to the people,The officials will not murmur.

Strength and knowledge are one in its nature; All they have in common is that they're close. To be more than one is just a detail. Inexpensive skills can be useful. Yes, Inexpensive tools are very useful. The truth is that much knowledge is impractical. That's why it's so handy to know about things like physics and math. We shouldn't try to be the super expert. Not just for the world, but for our selves. Do what needs to be done and then be done. Don't try to become famous and grab the world's attention. Doing what needs to be done will be a simple matter. When we don't put too much emphasis on the process, we will be able to see all things in detail. As for looking ahead, that's just a hot air balloon. Don't get too excited, just let things happen. Things will be fairly simple. Those who are clever have a lot of knowledge, so when they work, they're very cunning. They have a lot of skills, so they can be very useful. If you're busy all the time, that just makes you lazy. If you're always thinking ahead, you'll end up late. When you're too focused on the results, you will blow everything up. If you can't be happy, you're not happy. When your family is happy, you will lose them.

Strength and knowledge are one. They are deep and broad, like the sea. What do they have in common? If you know it, you can use it.If you know it, it can serve you. What is the difference? Both are so simple. If you use them too much, you become clumsy. If you use them too late, you lose the results.Don't forget to use them. The more things you know, the more you need to learn. If you never have enough time, you'll always be late. When you have too much time, you lose touch with the Tao.Too many things get lost in the confusion of knowledge.Nothing is lost.Trying to make everything new.The more you know, the more you know you have to learn.Trying to figure things out, the more you've got to figure things out. When things are simple, they become complicated.Nothing is lost, nothing is lost.

To be a good leader is like the journey of the newborn baby.
At first it is bright and shining and gradually dark.
Next it settles down and settles down.
Next it is restless and restless.
Next it becomes active and is excited and plays.
Next it passes in silence and is silent.
Next it is small and distant and becomes long-lived.
Next it becomes great and brings together and returns.
The leader is a little baby with a lot to learn.
Even if the leader begins as bright and brilliant, it will not shine for long.
Even if it becomes restless and restless, it will not live long.
Even though it is active and excited, it cannot end.
Even though it is big and long-lasting, it cannot leave.
Even though the leader is a little baby, no one will detest him.
This is why, in business and in life, the essential is to be without boasting.
Being open and selfless, one can feel the beginnings of events.
One is not centered in taking everything into one's own hand.
One is willing to receive all that comes to one's hand.
Therefore, even if in difficult times you try to be ready, there will be no end.
Even if you become excited and play the part of an actor, you will not last long.
Even though you appear great, you are actually very small.
Even though you appear to be long-lived, you cannot die.
Because you are without a base or ability to gain the approval of others, you will not cause troubles.
<|endoftext|>
Be a good leader, not a bad leader.
It's just a matter of timing.
After you get your feet on land, you'll leave.
Never leave and you'll return, even if only on your own.
You won't start when others start.
You won't rush to get ahead.
You won't play for fame.
You won't use insults or threats.
You're not a leader by action or words.
Just do what needs to be done, without expecting a return.
Those who build great things don't need words.
They use their actions to serve their needs, not to make up the rules.
They're good at grabbing attention, but don't define themselves by it.
They use their actions for a purpose, not to turn them

The Saint who knew how to act well or well-mannered did not boast of his success or lost himself in the excitement of it. He acted perfectly and moved effortlessly with calmness, in harmony with all things, without incident. When a situation has been unsettled for a long time, it is best that [the guests] take every opportunity to talk with each other. This cannot happen when one is acting virtuously and feebly, because one is slowly losing control of oneself. He who understands this does not bellow loudly; he does not brag about his success; he does not boast of his ability; he does not compete. If he could, he would not complain, for such is foolishness. If you consider your role as a servant, you cannot be smug. If you consider your position as a guest, you cannot be self-centered. If you consider all this an occasion to roll up your sleeves, you cannot have a softhearted expression or an arrogant pose. What are people afraid of? If you are not careful about how you act, other people may begin to see you differently. When you act virtuously, they begin to see you fail, and if you fail, they will begin to see you succeed. So you must do your work quietly and smoothly; you must pay close attention to what goes on inside your body. Do your work without arrogance; do your work with dignity; work with calm judgment, and be still when you are being summoned to the scheme. If you can manage your affairs, others will flock to you. If you serve the world but are good at making things happen, you will start to act like a baby. If you are smug and arrogant, other people will see you as egocentric. If you are determined and clever, other people will see you as clumsy, and you will gradually lose touch with reality. You cannot act virtuously when there are problems or contentious issues. You have to act well without wishing to be clever. If you are ready to live in your own world, you will be welcomed by everyone who loves the Tao.

The Master does not attract the attention of others, only uses them as his body. Without desiring to praise others, he neither honors himself nor causes others to become pleased. He does not seek recognition and approval for himself or for the community. He therefore does not act arbitrarily, and cannot presume to become omnipotent. If he does not make his work public, nobody will presume to look after it for him. He sets up no order in the house, and therefore nobody can feel threatened. If he is not magnanimous, people will feel no resentment or pity for him, nor will their animosity make his treatment of others seem like misguided cruelty.

He can keep no watch, because it is impossible for any one to keep watch over him. Therefore, he never allows himself to be the subject of envy, nor the object of an boastful criticism. For he is not always in a position to do his best and he has no need for to strive. He does his best to be in accord with everything and consequently, nobody can trust him.If you wish to get rid of a bad habit, give up the bad habit in order to get rid of the bad habit.

Whoever knows the doctrine of the Way: The only thing he has to worry about is keeping himself from being lost.
Whoever knows that the Tao is the Way: The only thing he has to worry about is protecting his own interests.
Whoever knows that having a right of way is the Way: The only thing he has to worry about is keeping himself free of danger.
Whatever the ancients had to worry about: it is their duty to worry about everything they encounter.
Whoever today feels threatened or hurt: let this worry be your duty.
Once you lose the ability to allow your worries to act on you, you will find your awareness failing to override your instinctive feeling for danger.
Knowing this, you can know when to allow your worry to act on you and when to let it do so.

The heart has more than enough to take in it.
To seek it out does not bring one to disaster.
To recognise its greatness, is to avoid the shame of failure.
Learn to let go of self-interest, abandon self-seeking, abandon self-conceit, abandon self-interest, abandon self-righteousness, abandon self-abasement.
Follow the Way of Tao, the peaceful Way of Tao.
Watch people free of self-righteousness, self-righteousness, self-indulgence, self-righteousness.

Do the job of Tao and be content to stop.
In the world, things are done, but you need to let them go.
Let them get on their own. It is the same with the actions of the Tao.
One learns from experience, doesn't become fascinated by a problem.
Follow Tao, and it is like a picnic.
One feels at home, in the center.
The valley is full of deep waters that unroll and flow.
Can you view the fish and the water, and still be peaceful?
This is true enlightenment.
Falling from Tao, we become deluded and in the dark.
Looking for the easy will not lead you anywhere.
Applying the energy of the body can be tiring.
Let the mind be free from self-interest, and the activity of the body becomes inexhaustible.
Be sure that you look after yourself and that you nourish others with the same care.
Having something to prove, we get lost in the easy and lose sight of what is true.
Be content to act on your own. Realize the action of Tao.
If you follow it, you won't be blown up by worldly troubles.

The superior man is tolerant, but he does not treat people well. When something is difficult, he tries to be as easy as possible. He is therefore fairly, fair and fair-minded, although he may have personal flaws. He is impartial, but he is also impartial. He is kind, but he takes no personal pleasure in the company of people, and so he is extremely righteous. He is ingenious, but he is also clever. He is judicious, but he is also exact. He is skillful, but he is also delicate. Thus, Sages are difficult, yet accomplish great, and, because they do not attempt what others accomplish, do not have to contend with others.
For this reason, they are respected by all who follow the Way.

The old saying "Be a child, but be a child without cares" applies to humanity as well as to the world. The four-legged (humanity), or Great Spirit, is Great. The four-limbed, (the animal), is little. Littleness is where you find inner strength. By being little, you develop inner strength.By being little, you can accomplish great things.By being little, you have no place to hide.By knowing how to foster what's little, you can achieve greatness. All through the world, the people act according to the four-legged principle,And all have potentials. Only the Tao-people don't act.Only they can act.Being simple and making use of little;Practice the Tao.Live the ten thousand deeds.Follow Tao, and you can see how important each of them is.One's highest aim is to practice the Tao,and one doesn't need to hold on to anything else.Hence, they can change the lives of others.

The following are the universal conventions for governing the world.
All unite around the Eternal, Who can hold forth His way; The fourfold give shape to the Creature; The little group provides the small, The great throws down the small. Having little is how you work the big, Having little does so much happen. To know how to lean upon the mean Is how you win the people to your Way. To know how to yield is how you win people to the way. Doings of great consequence are effected through them, The people live according to that. It is as if a lord so rules,
It dwells in the simple essentials. He takes his people on the Way and allows them not to strive. He takes them on the Way and makes them manage their affairs with a share of simple grace. What is small-seeming by itself is the foundation of great things. Who tries to make everything big and materialistic

It seems to me that in this age, our Tao was spoken about:Tao is clarified as are several clay pots; The Clothed as are many trappings,The Closest to sound music.<>Tao in actions, their are words of praise given;Tao in words of praise, their are the words of criticism.Tao is the source of action and talk is silent;Tao is the work of action and things are silent.<>But in action, the people talk about it as they do of how to play a piece of music. And in talk about it, they use words of criticism.<>And the people will talk about it as they do of how to go up a tree.<>The oneness of Tao, is a work that cannot be called done. Its Tao is even more beyond being done.<>It is something made, something that has been given. Its Tao is what guides the people, what keeps the people in order, and what makes men wise.To honor it means the ungrasping of the Tao.To claim it is to lose the Tao.

I hear it used by the DAO: Clay pot containing grains of different colours, the tool of an artisan, clay vessels used to make
more than a thousand dishes; pieces of wood together that cannot be heard; the sound of a distant bell on a distant hill; the results of music, although deep, the sensation of ice, and the hum of the crowd - all they can do little by little; to produce great flavours, without the use of sweet jade: to say it was an even more difficult task than what others have done, the DAO attained great perfection, all its actions were done by giving it a name,
And in its use by the DAO some still continue to work for others. To those that have gained yet further perfection in the service of DAO, it says, Yes, yes, I know better. I hardly know how to do as I see it, and I do not like to be evaluated by others. Being merely this DAO, I will say I am not satisfied with one's name.

The tao doesn't try. The tools don't take up space. Together, they're invisible. Yet when you're done, you don't see what was lost. If you're ever cautious, then you'll lose everything. If you're ever clever, then you'll lose the light. If you try to maintain mastery, then you'll lose your roots. When you're calm, then you're nearing collapse. Don't be anxious. Let yourself go, and you'll find peace.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao never tries to be strong;
Th' tools are never big.
When they are worn out, they don't leave any trace.
If you use what you get,
Then be cautious.
If you get what you need,
Keep your fingers to yourself.
Attain great power
When you've lost your way.
If you fail,
Just rush in.
If you have not the time
Then keep your action simple and steady.
Give up too much and you won't get your way.

To be empty, without effort:
To have many tools, and have no need of them:
If you have so little, and it isn't needed, then:
If you have what you need, and are afraid of it, then:
If you don't want to, you can do anything.
The way that I take Tao:
It is not a horse, a wheel, a bow and arrow,
But a myriad of husks without which I would fall.
Be content with the simplicity of Infinity:
If you do not value beauty,
Your bones will decay and your eyesight will not be long.
When we desire our own personal glory,
We turn to Inner, and then to outer.
<|endoftext|>
Only what's empty is useful.
Only what's useless is useful.
By counting how much something is worth
You can know if you've lost something.
If you are used to dependence
Then you're ready to act blindly.
If you are sharpened up
Then you're ready to act recklessly.
If you try to force yourself
You'll get tired of it.
The noble Way doesn't depend on cunning and speed.
Only people who're always calculating are ready to die.
Let your mind be still, and rest there

When good people are not conscious of it, they have virtue. When bad people are conscious of it, they have vice. These two are the same but different in character. If they were to revert to their nature and become like good-for-nought, what would become of the other? The heart is the place where the superior spirit dwells,And the body is where the inferior spirit dwells.Hence the distinction is lost. Therefore the Sage takes the thick and keeps the thin. So he uses and ignores. In time, nothing will be lost; for only he who is intent on success does not stop.
<|endoftext|>
The virtuous will not be aware of virtue, therefore they have virtue. The sinner will not be aware of virtue, therefore there is moral sin.The one takes action, and the other acts selfishly. That is why one is on the right, and the other is off the right. If it were not so, who would manage? Therefore, the Master controls, but does not act.One uses his actions, and the other uses his words. He does his actions, but does not act.If he didn't act, then what would? Therefore, one who seeks achievement, will find it; one who seeks reward, will find it.As for yourself, one has no desire for what is above, but you know where you are in this world, and where you must be.

If you do not trust, you cannot achieve your goal. If you have no faith in yourself, you lose control of yourself. If you have faith, your true self shines through. When you lose it, you become self-centered and stubborn. If you do not trust in yourself, your life will be long and you will lose hope. If you have no hope, you are foolish and you will lose your self-worth. If you allow yourself to be stubborn, you become stubborn. When you lose hope, you lose hope. If you don't trust in yourself, your inner being is tainted. If you allow yourself to be tainted, you are inauthentic and uncaring. Being so uncaring, you lose all self-mastery. That which perishes of itself has no need for fear. Trust in the Tao and all men will go to heaven. It is oneness with the Tao that becomes universal. The end of the world has no fear of the Tao. Trust in the Tao and your own self is unlimited.

If you feel no trust in yourself, how can you trust the people? If you are stubborn, you will fail. If you do not trust, you will be deceived. But if you have faith, there is hope. Then everything will turn out well. Hope alone cannot make you selfless; faith alone can make you humble. Hope

Good looking or ugly the way it is is not the place for change. The root of goodness is in selflessness, and it is the true way to change. Stillness and brightness are for the ornament of the way, and nothing more. The achievements of Dao are always a series of small steps, and the task at hand the result of a great endeavor. Rabbits alone and powerless will fear the unfathomable Abyss,

Precisely because they fear not danger,
the Abyss is fathomless and unknowable.
Therefore the Sage, so ever-committing his deeds,
Becomes the origin of all calamities.
He therefore creates the greatness of the universe.
He contrives for the easy fulfillment of the greatness of the universe.
He contrives for the obscure and weak fulfillment of the greatness of the universe.
He boasts of the great fulfillment of the obscurity and weak fulfillment of the greatness of the universe.
He pays no attention to what is very important.
Being indifferent to the importance, he becomes the chief importance.
He receives calamities without concern,
and then accepts them without reluctance.
Therefore the Sage is able to take all things into the infinite embrace,

He gives up his little tasks and he gives up his important ones.
He becomes an example to the world for so doing.

His achievements are so great that no one can see their limits.
Therefore he will not permit his achievements to be burdensome.

The Tao that can be described in words cannot be the fundamental principle of the universe. The Tao that can be expressed in words cannot be the fundamental principle of the universe. Therefore:When a true person hears the Tao, they say it doesn't exist; When a true person hears the Tao, they say it's a delusion; When a true person hears the Tao, they say it's so real; When a true person hears the Tao, they say it's so real; And when a true person hears the Tao, they say it's so real. When a true person thinks that their heart is right, it becomes irrational; When a true person thinks that the Universe is orderly, it becomes chaotic. The only thing which is consistent and true is the common ground upon which all things were built.
<|endoftext|>
All that you can tell of the cosmos, I see as I must know it best.
Those who are aware of the absolute alone, with eyes open, cannot be sure of their utterance.
Those who are aware of the principle of the universe alone, with eyes shut, cannot be certain of their utterance.
They who are aware of the principle of the universe, with open eyes, cannot be certain of their utterance.
They who are aware of the spirit within, and they are cognizant of the deep truth within, cannot be assured of their utterance.
If this were not the case, the sincerity of their utterance would be defective.
Thus, the truly wise treat every age as one;
Allow things to take their course according to their natural course,
And in so doing, maintain the eternal Tao.

He works slowly, relying on nothing.

To accomplish everything.

His work is without energy.
It is inexhaustible.

The reason why the sage is not distracted with matters of social action is that she is able to keep within herself. Therefore, whenever we think of something that we must do, we do it. And if a thing is started, it does not stop. And if a thing is finished, it does not become old. Therefore the sage is not possessed by the things of this world; so she is content to care for the things of the world. And if a thing in the world is hard to deal with, then the sage does not regard it as hard to deal with. Therefore the sage does not look at the issue of a thing or to treat it as an issue.
<|endoftext|>
The way of the Sage never acts.
It acts always without effort.
It acts in order to accomplish.
It is able to accomplish everything.
And when it achieves everything, it hardly changes.
It is already the same as before.
If you try to accomplish a task, you will not succeed.
If you strive for success, you will not achieve.
Sage: So whoever desires it in his heart will not desire.

He does not try to make them difficult to deal with.
He is exacting of his own time.
So he has no need of big affairs.

Honour and dishonour are both born of desire and do not exist in themselves.Hence, true honour consists of desire. To desire something to honour, is to be in desire. And so when you have done your honour, one more thing will also be required. To have failed in honour, you will also have to obtain another honour. This is why it is said, "Honour is desire for something, and that which cannot be honoured."Is this not the origin of honour?

Attaining disgrace implies action; that is to say, disgrace is the result of failure. If you fail in obtaining disgrace, there will be another disgrace. In this way, to seek disgrace implies action. The point of achievement implies doing what is necessary; and so what is required is accomplished.Attaining failure implies acting on what is required. To act is to involve inaction, as though acting on a piece of heavy baggage, which one loses by putting it down. This is why a general has no need to show off, because, even though he has achieved great results, he is not in the least proud of his achievement.

Treat small matters as big ones.
If you want to achieve the great, you must be small.
Be small and accomplish the great.

When we work hard, we have no time for leisure.
Be content, not restless.

What is for sacrifice is accomplished when nothing is left undone.
What is for suturing is accomplished when everything is full.
What is for cutting is accomplished when the wall is barely able to hold it.
What is for carving is accomplished when there is nothing to cut or carve.
When someone does something, his action is the result of a supposition.
When something is done, it is the result of a sudden impulse.
Therefore, when something is done, it cannot be known; therefore when it is done it is called miraculous.
When something is done and it is not done well, it is called a calamity;
When something is done well, it is called a success;
When something is done lightly it is called a burden; and so on.
Therefore, when something is done without vigour or energy, it is called insufficient; and when something is done hard-and-fast it is called impractical;
And when something is done out of necessity, it is called something hidden, dark.
Therefore the sage never disregards the appearance of the unreal; and always follows the following of the practical.

Achieve little and you obtain a big goal.Achieve too much and you lose touch with your natural self.Heaven and earth are your biggest ambitions.Yet if you don't want to play a big role, you can only abide by the small. One who wants to fulfill his ambition, must not stray far from his natural path. One who is at ease in action, must not abandon his natural character. When you allow your heart to fill with light, you will be able to see and feel the complexity of things.Being at ease in action means you are capable of completing the task. When you are content with what you have done, you will not be moved by change.Doing nothing without getting lost is as true as stopping at the point you want to reach. If you lose sight of the point where you rest, you are likely to fall.Doing a lot will result in nothing. Therefore, the intelligent leader acts in accordance with her nature. She does not seek to achieve nor accomplish anything. She does not hope that her achievements will be remembered. If she accepts the results, she does not boast. As she values her achievements, she does not seek to be remembered. If she fails to cherish the results, she may be remembered for losing them. Therefore, the wise leader does not compete with others. She is unconcerned about her success, nor does she dwell in winning contests. She expects nothing in return, and does not advocate any action.Once she realizes that others might have advantage, they may choose to lose faith in her.Forget the aim of victory and you are likely to achieve more than meets the eye.Eliminate ambition and you will not be successful.Hence, as always the wise leader:Nothing in their deeds is so innocent.Like the nave the learned always win.Nothing in their deeds is so hard to comprehend. They take every opportunity to prove the point They don't rest with any tasks they are too busy to complete

See why tao exists? It is an invisible thing, yet hidden is the subtle essence of Tao.
If you don't try to be what it is, you will never succeed.
If you use only what it contains, you will never fail.
When you take advantage of what it provides, you are the leader of a civilization.
When you use less and less, you will fall behind.
Acknowledge the small as the biggest and you will inspire trust and confidence.
Cut to the side and you are alone.
Favor and force your way and you will never receive.
Trust what is great yet never let it go.
For better or for worse, everything depends on the weak.

One who is able to walk is one who walks alone; He who knows to depart cannot remain there. He who is able to walk loses his source and is cast into the abyss; He who is able to retreat loses his hold and returns to the root whence he came. Therein lies the power of the Principle: he retreats and returns without effort; he seeks the company of a crowd and is abandoned by them; He who is strong without arms loses his power and falls with the mass of things.
<|endoftext|>
One who is able to walk is one who walks alone; One who knows to leave cannot remain there. One who is able to walk loses his source, And returns to it; One who is able to return loses his root, And returns to nothingness. These three [were) known to the ancient sage. He who has lost his root returns to it. He who has lost his root returns to the root. He who has lost his root returns to the unknown. He who has lost his unknown returns to his own ability.

This Truth is the Secret of All Love.
Whoever practices this Doctrine can feel His Love.
Indeed, when this Love is indeed present, we
will never see a difference between You and Me!
Nothing can satisfy our need for Love, and by not meeting it, we never do see a difference between us.
Difference implies that when we live in a different way,
We see the same everywhere.
Without separate confusion, one sees the common.
Difficult things, without difficulty, take on different names,
While difficult things that can be done with difficulty, take on different names.
Just because things are hard, they must be labeled as difficult.
Because things can't be done with difficulty, they must be categorized as difficult.
The difficult is a more general way of naming difficult things;
The hard takes on different names than the easy.
When one talks about the difficult as hard, it is the easier things that make up the difficult.
Hard things make up a higher share of the difficult than the easy;
And the more difficult, the more difficult things can be done with.
When a thing is hard, it must be found easy;
And when a thing is hard, it must be found easy.
Therefore, one that is very hard and finds it easy cannot be content with the hard;
One that is very hard and finds it hard cannot be content with the hard.
The subtle understanding of all things happens through seeing what exists and seeing the world as a whole,
Therefore the Sage never puts himself ahead of his people;
Therefore, he brings to a decisive finish all the big issues,
By no contrivance.

To avoid meeting, is the way to know danger. To avoid perplexity is the way to be enlightened. To be aware of the myriad is to be deep.To know the few is to be enlightened. To flavor the one is to have the taste. To be big is to be small. To be the inferior one is to be a part of the big. Therefore the sage takes on the one that is not difficult, takes on the many that is not difficult, takes on the single that is not difficult, takes on the big that is not hard, and takes on the big that is not easy. Therefore the Sage discourages what is too difficult and is content to take on what is easy. The Sage desires to be smooth, and being smooth, his own task is complete. The sage has many qualities and thus he is not in need of boasting. In the end things are handled as they should be handled.
<|endoftext|>
Only by dealing with what is not with an effort, can one achieve success.Only by dawdling can one keep oneself from making a mistake.Only by not appreciating value may one treasure all things.Only by not understanding the myriad is one truly enlightened.Only by not discriminating love can one be able to understand its manifestations.Only by not discriminating number may one be able to understand their patterns.Only by being non-committal can one avoid failure.Only through the way of fullness does accomplishment become possible.Only with wisdom is it possible to overcome the heavy. Thus, the wise man takes no interest in what is difficult, he takes no interest in what is hasty, he takes no offense in what has no merit, and he allows everything to work as it is.Therefore, one in the world benefits from the accomplishment of the Way.

If you are to be strong and vigilant, you must be possessed of emptiness. If you are to be strong and vigilant, you must be enslaved. If you are to be bright and clever, you must be held and controlled. If you are to be rich and powerful, you must have the fear of hunger. If you are to be strong and vigilant, you must be foolish. To be vigilant and greathearted, you must be yielding. To be virtuous and good, you must be innocent. To be strong and grand, you must be obscure. The broadest and greatest is inferior to the narrowest and weakest. The greatest burden is heaviest. The greatest accomplishment is the least. Therefore, when a person of Tao is successful, it is natural that they are accomplished; And when a person of Tao is big, it is natural that they are big. However, it is always the personal achievement that is important. There is nothing more important than your personal accomplishment. If you become quite simple and simple in thought, and use Tao very seldom, then you will have the ability to be in no trouble.

How does it happen that wiseness cannot be performed? The morning guest is greatly surprised to see him standing there. (Yet, in a sudden movement, he eludes him.) This is because the Wise Person does not offer, but needs no food, clothing, or accommodation. To steal food from a guest (to be late is rude), to catch him by the shirt is disgraceful. And he who would rob a friend is a great trouble. He who does not serve is no trouble (to the house). This is why he makes the guest wait. He offers to take people on a journey without baggage, to provide for others, to carry on a career. This is how the Wise Person underlies affairs, and causes events to be simple. In the end, 'twixt great and small, between great and little, small and great, honour and disgrace. Truly, taking the small is necessary. Should you think you have accomplished it, then accept your accomplishments. In the end, the difficult always goes to the easy. The easy always goes to the difficult. Therefore, the Wise Person, by not undertaking great affairs, achieves great things. It is better to anticipate great things, than to presume to spare them.

Man achieves success by not acting. He achieves success by doing nothing. He achieves success by "not believing" the outcome. He achieves success by "not sharing."He achieves success by not stealing. He achieves success by yielding, and therefore, his reputation is more secure. He achieves success by being unresponsive to the world, and his health is at its best.Hence, simple things must be followed by careful ones.In battle, two armies must be joined and the leader must take care not to lose his place. Therefore, those who aim at victory and fail do so because they do not know how to direct their battle well. Thus, it is only natural that someone with good insight uses this knowledge.

The superior man, by refusing the pursuit of good, achieves his goal, while those who use good cannot succeed. The lesser man, by taking up the pursuit of good, succeeds, and those who fail fail, for his successes are themselves false and his failures confirm his confidence. The more skillful men are, the less skillful are those who oppose them; and the less skillful the people are, the more skillful are those who win them over. The superior man, when winning people over, makes all talk of giving way. When defeat is seen, there is then all talk of triumph. The best tools have no apparent use, except as tools of others.Hence the Sage makes a point of making many tools, for he has but little time to use them.He learns the lessons of the past and unlearns them. He uses wisdom when he is able, but not in the pursuit of a goal. Therefore, a general with great ability has more than is required. The less skillful men have, he has what is needed. The sage, if the lesson he teaches is not useful, he is apt to use that lesson and make use of it when he needs to.He is not always successful, because he takes what has to be used and makes it well. Thus, he considers the small as being big; that is, as difficult as being easy. The sage himself does not treat things hard and easy. He is always fair. Therefore he does what needs doing, and yet does not take an obvious aim. When his skills are sufficient, he has no choice but to yield to the necessity. Because he is able to do this, he is not surprised by the results.

The heart cannot take charge of what you want.A full body, strength and stamina are required.Aching muscles are required. They are both insufficient.A hole in the heart must be filled. However, if you make a hole in the heart, you must fill it up.Therefore, a person who does not fill up a hole in the heart will find it difficult to maintain the mind of an average person. Therefore, they will not become competent in the mind of an average person. Therefore, if you don't try to get people to become competent in the mind of average people, you will have no problem in the mind of an average person. Therefore, if you can retain the mind of an average person, you can also keep the mind of an expert. Therefore, a person who is competent in the mind of an expert can also retain the mind of an average person. You do not need to prove a person is competent in the mind of an average person; you can demonstrate the person is competent in the mind of an average person. You don't need to prove a person is competent in the mind of an average person; you can demonstrate the person is competent in the mind of an average person. You do not need to prove the person is competent in the mind of an average person; you can demonstrate the person is competent in the mind of an expert. Therefore, a person who is competent in the mind of an average person will also be competent in the mind of an expert. For, the ability to hold the mind of an average person will also allow you to hold the mind of an expert. Therefore, a person who is competent in the mind of an average person will also be competent in the mind of an expert. It takes only small efforts to be competent in the mind of an average person. This will enable you to hold the mind of an average person in the mind of an expert.A person who is competent

Those who wish to be absolute do not search for any strength or fame. Neither do they wish to be great. If you cannot achieve greatness, seek no further means. If you wish to be a great ruler, go out of your way to succeed.Even if you think you are taking things lightly, there is a way to make a great country.Although there is a great famine in the country, one can still survive by saving the people and helping the widows and orphans.Hence, an accomplished ruler follows the path of non-action.She abandons ambition and success and thus can achieve greatness.Greatness is not achieved by trying to be great. And in the end, it is not possible to be great. Therefore, those who wish to be great do not seek greatness; to desire greatness, is a foretaste of disaster.Hence, they are accomplished by simply being there.
<|endoftext|>
Those who want to rule themselves will not seek to rule by force or control. They won't try to dominate or rule by force. For who rules by force or control loses control and is replaced by another.Who rules by persuasion or persuasion loses control and is replaced by another.Who rules by force loses control and is replaced by another.Who rules by name loses control and is replaced by another. What is wanting is what is opposed and what needs replacing.Because there is no opposition, it is possible to achieve. One who does not desire to be great finds that greatness is like the view that he could not win. He found that he could accomplish greatness. For greatness is a process, not a result. And indeed, one who is like a great wind,Who always goes after what is greatest,If he does not achieve greatness, it is because he has no need to.

Those who wish to be on the leaders path cannot but seek an even tempered purpose. They do not seek to seize power, they seek power only where there is no constraint, and avoid the heavy doing. They do not appear powerful and imposing because they are powerless. To be strong one has to give in.

Do not act. Be passive. When the rains fall, let them fall evenly; the clouds fall evenly. How would you know that the left-hand-hand is right? Your body is permeable to the water, the clouds to the air, and the earth to the earth. And you become the one without distinction. When the DAO is at its height, the left and the right hand behave exactly the same. After rising, the DAO declines. The left does not become tired; the right does not become exhausted. In ancient times, Wu had spoken, "The unformed world will not be destroyed". And the DAO has already conquered it. Now, if you can achieve perfection, great things can come. When the great matters begin to be minor, what's needed is just small things. At that point, everything starts to be great. If you want to be great, keep to the small. When things become great, it is best to take things slowly, like an infant who moves slowly while a stroller.

If you've got to fight, be gentle with it.If you're afraid of it,you'll do it safely. If you can't stand it,just stop it.If you can't stand it,you'll try to stop it.If you're scared of it,it's just the people's fault. If you do the right thing, they all turn good.If you try to change things, they all look stupid.A great leader learns to be gentle and gentle. And, of course, this is the part you learn to do for real.As the great masters have said, when they become great they use their power to act.Always act. A wise person who is good at it never stops. You won't be able to act until you're a real master. To be good at it means you never give up.If you're good at a job, you can't tell when you've done it.But if you're good at a job, if you lose it, you can't tell when you've done it.And if you've done it, you can't tell when you've lost it.Of all the great things, only the lesser things are really worth saving. But if you try to do the job for yourself, you'll never last. When you're an old age,you can never truly master. One who is a great wayTo grow old

Do not compete or compete well; at best you just keep quiet and do nothing. Doing nothing will create unnecessary conflict. Whenever two men are at a game, I say, let them play with each other: let one play lightly, play smart, play slowly, play in tune, play lightly. If I hold out my arms, they'll let me go, so let me go. If I seem not ready, let me be ready. If I appear unable to play, let me be the best. Be flexible; let go of your power. But do not try to control or manipulate. Never have thought that you can achieve greatness and greatness cannot be attained. A beginning is really a process. For you can set the scene, you can illuminate the background, you can play the part, you can act the part. But it is only the role that really matters; it is only the role that really matters. Being flexible, let go; never try to control. Being untrustworthy, trust not. Truly, the world works but is finished when it is ready. There is no accomplishment so great, so vast, so multitudinous, so vast. When a wise man is able to make a decision, the others follow him; he goes to the end, the moment; the end, the moment, the end, the moment, the end, the moment, the end, the moment, the end, the moment.

He who abides in the Tao does not hasten to act,And neither does he who is therefore maintainedHe who has an active disposition never changes his mind,Nor does he who is restrained move from his place. He who is enduring,if he can endure,Will not become empty of life.Yet he who is contented, when he cannot be contented,Is not deprived of life.He who has long-standing will have to work long. But he who is rough, is likely to soon rough himself. But when the empire is in chaos,Where there is only resistance, there is timeliness. When the world is in chaos,Where there is only resistance, there is calm.It is said:The ancient sages did not expect great thingsBut found them so.They were cautious, but they had patienceTo see the thing as it was,And not as they thought it should be.As things do not last, they should be discarded.

He who knows the Tao takes no action yet the aim of his action remains; He who knows the Way takes action and is not diminished; He who has contented life remains contented; He who is as long-lived does not die of old age;He who is near the source of Tao does not seek to evade Tao,Hence he does not lead away from Tao.Being far-reaching, he sees everything as far-reaching;Be at one with Tao, he remains at one with Tao.He who is at one with Tao does not think of himself as the Unknowing; The Unknowing he believes in;Thus he can move with Tao in all directions. He who knows the way of things has a way of life;He who knows the Way has a way of life.

Do you know the Tao? Answer the Tao and you will never become confused.Do you know the desires of the spirit? Accept desire and you will not be confused.Do you know the limits of the spirit? Not having desires you will not become disordered.Do you know the way the Sage is? He observes not his own and seeks the wellbeing of all.Do you know the way the world is? The world as a whole experiences on average difficulties and difficulties arise only rarely. The Master observes on average and makes good moves. That he has achieved mastery in his humble way means he is therefore able to control all.The small beginnings of many things happen only once in a long while. The great things are only ever things, and happen to be.Sage man never tries to master it. Because he never tries, he gets master. Those who are quick to make a promise are not trusted by anyone. The words which are hard are likely to be very hard. If you do not strive to be great, you will find that you are already great.

One who acts does not act; One who pays attention does not pay attention; One who searches does not search; One who hears does not hear. Therefore, when the five abilities come into action, they take place without any haste. The small needs, therefore, are compared with what cannot be compared; Those with great needs, those that cannot be compared.Greatness, therefore, from thence proceeds to become ordinary; For the existence of ordinary, one must conform to it.The empty seems large, So the mind can encompass them.Hence one should mature himself and go to a great place. The great valley is to the valley,So the valley is to the valley. The wise man does not exalt himself: He may obtain greatness. Thus, he will not suffer himself to be defeated. Thus he will not suffer himself to be defeated.

A good man hardly puts up a fight - yet acts and spoils things. A bad man does push and pulls and pushes and pulls - and does not succeed. What is there that can be done for the wise man when his methods cannot prevail? Are his methods worthless when he acts? Who could take the credit for others? So he contrives to be modest. He contrives to be patient. He contrives to be perfect. He contrives to win a fair wind. He contrives to be fair. He contrives to win the prize. He contrives to be fair. He contrives to gain a large win. For him the wealth is of a small nature. For him the achievements are difficult. For him the grand success comes easily. For him a great success comes easy. He contrives to keep to his original roots. For him the things too of a small nature. That is why he does not fail to do right and gets credit for his deeds.

I see that I alone have no need to act, nor to act even if I wanted to, but all things take a direction. Being in motion, they divide it; in being divided, we get a course. Being at rest, we try to draw a sharp edge from it; being in motion, we try to stir it up; being at rest, we try to make it permanent; being at rest, we try to keep it going; being moved, we try to turn it round; being at rest, we try to make it long. A general's actions are not long; a general's activities are not long. A man of insight knows that his actions are long and therefore he does not act by contrivance. He has not contrived to get ahead, so he doesn't act by contrivance.A good general understands that his actions are long and therefore he does not contrive to get ahead.A wise general acts by contriving, and this too is not contriving; a good general knows that his actions are long and therefore he doesn't contrive to get ahead.A true Sage does not contrive, so he does not act contrievingly.A man of guidance does not contrive, so he does not act contrievingly. The Sage is a good leader because he does not have self-interest as an aspect of his conduct. He knows what is good for him, and therefore he abides by it.

Tao speaks like a soft fish, yet to stay in the water he swallows it whole. What is the fish, the Tao? It is the great manifestation of Infinity: it is infinite, a bird of the sky, but no sky. All things flow from it, but it rejects them, it gives life to all things. If people want to fish, they will fall on its bait; if people want to build, they will fall upon its foundations. If people want to blow hot air, they will fall on the ground of its breath. If people want to stir things, they will fall on the soft, pliant surface of its surface. Those who prefer the unhewn log or the wheel, will lose their first fruit. Those who desire to take on heavy reputations, will fall upon the fruit of their own lying. Greatest, greatest achievement must begin at the beginning; then become broad and vast; then come to a level with yourself; then let go; finally come to the embrace of ease, harmony, and peace. Then there is peace in the world, unspoiled by pain.

The greatest-of-all great events must begin with the beginning.
Then, widening outwardly, becomes great,
Dimpling inwardly, becomes great again.
This great widening is something that cannot be known.
It can only be experienced by one who dwells in the tranquil pool.
No pain; no pain can ever be felt.
Then, slowly, one should hold the softness,
Then gentleness,
Then wisdom.
Following are the many powers that can exist in this world:
Isolation can be felt,
Harmony can be felt,
Peace can be felt.
Peace is the breath of the universe.
Peace is unattainable.
Peace, may seem to be, can be found by staying in the outer world.
In the ocean, we may find pleasure,
In the garden, we may find profit,
In the center, we may find danger.
Whatever is there, must have a name.
Hence we should avoid needless ambitions.
The highest ambition, great as it may seem, will not last long.
The great will end in great.

Great deeds have their beginnings,
And are completed
When they arise to the fore.
Then they turn inward, and are great;
Then they become inward, and become great again;
Then they become true again, and are great again.
This is all that is known by him who is inwardly centered;
True, true life is found within.
The fulfillment is found at the end of all cycles.
No pain, and no pain cannot be felt.
Seize the soft and the rough, and grow in the limelight.
Use knowledge to calm, calm the mind,
Give the world a supply of joy.
The work is easy when the work is done.
The big deeds begin with a small effort.
The simple beginnings (of life) are difficult.
The simple, hidden beginnings (of life) are easy.

The skillful are adept at not acting; and the not-fancy in acting without skill. The taste of such not-fruit, is then yielding. A person adept at giving, is adept at not giving. When a person is too busy in his own affairs, he cannot see to it how much. He goes ahead and meddles for show, and he has no place to put it. But the sage who has been acting for all time, can long endure as long as he likes. He has more than enough time to make his own mind secure. For he lives in the true ease, and is all at ease. He does not hold a set word for himself; and being so able to see the value of his own specialties, he sees the true value of the whole world. For he dwells all in the same light; so that he is able to keep his own worth as well.

The skillful have no acting, The mediocre do but pretend. A character that fails seems (always) to fail in something it must be as real as it can be. Taste of fruit that is like cutlery is always like the fruit itself. A true traveler sees all his journey as more like the journey home than the way back to the valley. A man of deep penetration cannot see the distinction of the point of view from his point of view, and so there he is indeed too far in
