Tao is constantly present within us. Yet it is not the model to which we must conform. Therefore, when a great gentleman is at his best, he attends to the following: So as to show respect to the superior men. He attends to the following: To share in the ministrations of the great magistrate. He attends to the following: To take care of the effects of a great musical performance. He attends to the following: To perform the work of a great mathematician. Therefore, when the emperor is crowned, he makes use of all the [literal] implements of State. Those who have no other purposes than that to make them valuable, If they become attached to them, will be satisfied. Therefore, those who practice Tao give up not the Tao, and regard the bad as having been pardoned. For whom may it be said that there is anything else worth giving up? Therefore Tao is highly esteemed by all.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is good at guiding the way of the world. When a powerful ruler brings attention to the Way, then the world follows the Way.A common sort of music is good at giving an important message.Music makes people feel happy and gets respect.Good deeds inspire others to show their true face. Those who are depressed turn to the Tao.The Tao makes the people good and the negative bad.The Tao is good at making the people be happy. When Tao is disregarded, there will be no lack of people who practice it.Do you remember when the dukes and marquises were honoured with the Ten Thousand Things and the Form of the Sage? These were the instruments of their power. When Tao was shunned, thus no one was deprived of power, and thus the world could be ruled with peace. The Tao is a universal doctrine.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is good at guiding the world. When a great leader brings attention to the Tao, all under heaven follow the way.Music is good at conveying a important message.Good conduct is good at making people feel good.Acts of evil are good at making people think bad.People who are depressed are healed when Tao is practiced. The Tao is good at making people happy and choosing the unworthy. When Tao is not practiced, the people become unhappy. Therefore, the good Tao is highly valued by everyone.

The Dao is eternal;but its nature is without restraint

You may care for the people, but the Tao cannot be sacrificed. Hence its value lies in being the foundation for the ten thousand things. Who can speak of gentleness and inborn kindness and be shown the way to Heaven and Earth? These things can be shown but cannot be obtained, and they should therefore be rejected. Who will do deeds of kindness and sincerity and support the earth and the laws of the universe? Who can show compassion and self-desire and be encouraged by the bellowing of troops and galleys? These seem good ones but are in themselves ill-suited.Therefore he who desires the everlasting attainment of the Tao,
should desire not the sacrificial value of these things.
<|endoftext|>
Can you make the people happy? This value depends on taking care of the people; How can it be reduced? The true ruler, to whom no superior brother is attributed, is content with the Son of Heaven, though he pays honour to the world's sovereign. To show kindness is to make a man worthy; To be genuine is to be valued; To be long-suffering is to have his lord honored; To conduct troops in war is to win the hearts of all. When one is good in appearance but not worthy of a high place,He who can't gain it, is not willing to lose it.The wise will presume to offer prizes of every kind, To prove that the world's way is not precious.
<|endoftext|>
Of Tao, I see no need.It makes the world's treasures.
The good man can secure from it:
A good mouth, a good heart,
And a good ruler.
So it is that when princes become lords and princes become good men,
The self-worth of their subjects is not wasted by boasting of themselves.
Since they can prove themselves better by being among the needy,
What is more appropriate?
What is not most profitable to gain?
<|endoftext|>
The Way is without value.
The value is in acting as a servant to others.
It does not matter if you have to help others to behave
In doing this, do not show off your own self.
Other people will do as you would do,
And no fault is to be attributed to your actions.
Since others will be glad to receive you,
What is more appropriate than a good job?

Abundance is obtained from non-existence, Within it is life. The voice of Dao is the eye of heaven, The eye of heaven looks beyond the white and beyond the black. An extremely subtle talk is a mysterious image. A good deed can bring honour. A bad deed can bring misfortune. Thus the Dao is the domain of the highest. When a king honors Dao by a title, When he treats the nobles with kindness, When he gives the command of an army, In such an occurrence do the names of names of names not appear. They can be named.

Nature's enigma is nature itself. I have no idea what it is like to be that. Yes, yes, I have an idea. I am all-pervading, dazzling, And beholding everything everywhere. Yea, I see everything! So bright! So clear! So imperceptible!
All-pervading and all-visible, all-pervading and all-visible, all-pervading and all-visible, all-pervading and all-visible, all-pervading and all-visible, all-pervading and all-visible, all-pervading and all-obscure, Yet it is not what is seen, Is it? It is one with all-pervailing! By "everything" it may be regarded as one. The manifestation of goodness and evil, good and evil, all may be examined. As the realm of the Highest is always partial,
Can we not regard it as taking its stand within its realm of Infinite Love and Infinite Peace?
<|endoftext|>
Reaching abundance has a mysterious note. Being that which is limitless has no name. The inward essence is hidden. To the left edge is the light. To the right is the darkness. As far as is known. The light curves in the center. The darkness moves towards the edges. The non-being itself has a name. From the potentials.Things with names of things.Things that are different from each other. The nature of that which has a name. The seeming opposite. The identical. The likeness of all.The multitude in the essence.Heaven is limitless. So infinite is the nature of heaven. The highest nature is this infinite nature. With utmost caution, one is wary of entering into the infinite nature.

The genuine universal has no fixed pattern. It is ever full of mystery, mystery that has no fixed end.It is like an immortal entity, which can be acted on;It is like a wide pool, which can be shut,And has a purpose but is capable of holding. It is like a valley, which can be drained and replenished; It is like an open space, which can be used but is capable of taking action. All things possess one origin but have many functions,And are regarded as useful only when acted upon.Everything has a purpose but has no fixed beginning; It is important to understand its relative functions and to use them in the best interest. In all things there is a way, a "great sacred way", which is the center of the myriad things. It is the reason why the Wise Person in times of profound wisdom is able to perceive the treasures of Tao,The root of all mysteries. When ruling, the high dignity is done by giving gifts of jade boughs and a team of four horses, in service of the mysteries of the Tao.What did the ancients value the Tao for?By how doing they could accomplish the fulfilment of their Tao ambitions.

The kind-hearted man is not naturally kind; hence, he does not realize his noble roots, and therefore has no house of value; the shabby man is not naturally cheap, hence he has no house of value. This is why when the Sages are in leadership, they prefer to give them jade discs instead of gold cups, so that they can give lectures on the importance of what is right in the world. When they are ruling, they are content to take care of them; and when they are being powerful, they willingly serve them. Do not take action because your house is empty. Only in giving take care of your house. This is how the ancients understood the true importance of the Dao.Do you understand the importance of the Dao?Even the smallest things are a foundation for the great!Hence the sage may say: "I use the Dao to find many things, but I have nothing that I desire to return to. Therefore, I prefer giving things to things." The use of jade boughs to help the wisdom leaders. The use of jade to aid a boar to help them master their beasts. The use of carriages to accompany the sage to do all the work.

Just like Tao.

The Tao is the unnamable. The Tao is the eternal good. Tao is the eternal happiness. The Tao is the eternal measure. The eternal speed.
The beginning is everything. The master is everything. The love is everything. The loss is everything. The Tao becomes the container of all things. That is why the Tao is the ultimate good. The Master is the ultimate good. The Tao is the ultimate measure. The ultimate speed.
The beginning is all there is. The supreme good is all there is. The supreme happiness is all there is. The supreme loss is all there is. Tao becomes the all-inclusive container of everything. That is why the Tao is the ultimate good. The supreme good is all there is. The supreme loss is all there is.

The Tao is always present and perfect. All things develop according to the Tao. The person who practices the Tao can embody the Tao. The mind can expand by acting according to the Tao. The actions can be benevolent or selfish. All things go through their natural processes. This is because the Tao takes care of all things. The old saying about "by the Tao and the Tao alone can one achieve one's purpose" has always made sense. By practicing the Tao you can accomplish your purpose. The Tao can do all things. If you cannot achieve what you want, you will eventually get it. Therefore, if you are good at following the Tao, the Tao is always at hand.

Tao is elusive, elusive, elusive. It is the uncarved block. The block is a treasure of the good. Good people can use it for benefit the bad people. Not giving them is a matter of necessity. A wise man will take care of the block for all things. He does not become a block for himself. This is how he became wise.

The foremost treasure of all is the Tao. Tao is the treasure of those who embrace it, its refuge. When a leader values his empire with an unspoken acknowledgment of the Tao, he will gain loyal followers. Fine music can be a boon, but it is better to let the songs resonate with the heart of the follower. When a leader puts an example to the world, then the word of the world is not worthy of emulation. When the greatest empire is founded on an unrecognized Tao, then is the world loses it's glory. If leaders of all nations were like the Tao, they would enter the world as the honored guests.

The treasure of All under heaven is the Tao.
The Master of All is the Tao.
Fine speech is the root of good words.
Fine deeds are a good home.
Slavery is the root of righteousness.
The renown of good words is the root of honour.
Fine speech is the root of honour.
If the owner of this Tao does not value words of praise
Priests will be against the Tao.
So there is no honor left in the realm
If the TAO is kept from people's hearts
The world will be destroyed.
When the Tao is misunderstood,
Goodness and virtue become undesirable.
If things are left untraced,
Princes and kings will fall from heaven.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is the root of all good actions; the superior man is always in accord with it; he does the right thing in the world. He makes sure that his words are only used in what is natural; he honors his own self-worth. Music and musicophilia are the root of good words, and the root of friendship and good government. His good reputation is his foundation, and the people will honour him for his behaviour; his good deed is the foundation of the business world. If you don't value words as precious commodities that can be traded, then the world is in trouble. If the word is not recognized as the value of the person, then the person is in danger. Therefore the wise person has a phrase for the meaning of Tao:"The person who loves Tao, when led by Tao, can be looked at with loving kindness; the person who shows the Master Tao, can be regarded as a typical example of noble virtue; the person who assists the Master Tao, can be admired as exemplary

There are things which are born from Tao,And there are things which emerge from heaven. There are things which return home to Tao,And there are things which give birth to Tao.Good speaking, true deeds, and good looks are things which give birth to Tao.Thus the wise leader uses good speech, and good deeds, and good looks. What is bad, this implies Heaven will throw you away. What is good, this implies Heaven will throw you away. Thus, if you use Tao, Heaven will give you Tao.Therefore, when the leader of an empire gives birth to Heaven,He is saying, by Tao, you will be left behind. When a leader gives birth to Tao,He is saying, by Tao, you will be forgiven. So when the leader of an empire becomes wise,He is using Tao as his instrument of love.

The Way: the largest thing, the first to be used as an ornament. Words: the largest thing, the most precious. Policies: the most important thing, the one to be protected. Herein lies the wonder of life. Yet great numbers of things seem to find life's pleasures fleeting. The so called great elixir; it is the flower of this world. To say that there is a big good is to avoid a simple Good. It is for this reason it is deemed to be Non-Good. When heaven is honored, the Form of Tao is celebrated. Those with an honored sovereign will be most likely to be present at coronation ceremonies. Why does the ancients value the Direction as so? It is because they said that there is a Direction; the Direction is the first beginning of Goodness. He who is good at the Direction was put into heaven. His beginning was good to the world.

The largest substance. The beginning of heaven and earth.Speaking words to impress the world with good sense.Much ceremony to show the world what good brings them.A feast of precious delicacies. The best in the world is not sure of his happiness. Therefore,He will not risk his good fortune by seeking for its safety. Therefore, when the ruler of the state is named, it is better to stand and be ready to receive the kingdom. Why did the ancients value the worth of the words? So that they could avoid "Good" at all costs! Why did the ancients value this worth so highly? It is because they knew the value of the worth as well as the cost of being good!

Be careful to treasure things as the followers of the Tao. What faults do they possess that justify loathing for others? How do people treat material goods?
What does the "te" (profound truth) of the Tao mean? It means "I know that I am not perfect, and therefore can be shaped by change." And I must be aware of this knowledge? To understand the "te" (profound truth) of the Tao means to be conscious of the limitations of my possibilities, and thus my freedom from physical disease.
The "te" (profound truth) of the Tao can be compared to the famous (hench) speech of the great rulers of the ancient times, Heaven or Earth, the form, the sound, the light, or the other way, or the particles of space and time.
What does it mean to be master of the Tao? To truly know the Tao means to master that which is hidden and mysterious. It means to become completely satisfied with one's life. To be fully satisfied with one's life means to be completely satisfied with the world.
Therefore, all great leaders knew that without the Tao, Heaven would disintegrate. They knew that without the Tao, Earth would be destroyed. They knew that without the Tao, Space and Time would disintegrate. They knew that without the Tao, such things as violent winds and harsh radiation were a sign

The greatest virtue is just "goodness."
It is the Virtue of Perfection.
Goodness is the base for Virtue.
Not knowing Virtue's virtue, it is the root of Virtue.
Without knowing it, one comes to be the site of virtue.
Without possessing it, one comes to be the place of virtue.
In honor ceremonies,
Whenever the Monarch is honored, he stands before the World;
He is the base of the World, and the root of the World.
The Monarch wants to attain something, he speaks of it as "worthy"; he acts it as "good."
If one acts with good will, one will receive gratitude.
The ancient Masters said:
When good is attained, there is no turning back;
When Virtue is attained, there is no leaving;
When a place is attained, there is no seizing.
When making a 'thing', we must strike a balance,
Between virtue and action.

The best virtue is purely Goodness.
It is the female of Goodness.
It is the birth of Goodness.
Not knowing the goodness of goodness,
One is entranced by its beauty.
Not knowing the goodness of goodness,
One will remember the crudest manifestations of goodness.
Holding to the goodness of goodness,
One can act virtuously.
On the one hand, acting virtuously, one is humble.
On the other hand, acting virtuously, one is energetic.
In honor ceremonies,
The Master stands before the World;
When a man stands before the World,
He is the base of the World;
When a man is the base of the World,
He is the primeval innocence of the World.
Thus the ancients said:
When goodness is attained, there is no turning back;
When good is attained, there is no going away;
When a place is attained, there is no possession.
When acting virtuously, one must act with a good will;
When acting with a good will, one must be active.
When this is the way things are,
People think they are acting virtuously,
But it is only because they act with good will.

Because there are no laws, then the Tao is good.Because there are laws, then the Way is bad.Because the Way is bad, then people become bad. Therefore, the sage has enough good will and enough good will without trying to be good or avoid being good. Thus, even the best thief will not feel bad when he steals.Hence, when the head of state is installed in the countryside, the ancients themselves fashioned a magnificent burial stone, before that they carved it with jade. Thus, they knew that even though the good do good, the bad are not excluded from the good.

From ancient times to the present, Tao has played a significant role in all events. From the beginning to the present, the Tao is Tao and so forth. If the Tao were not present, people would not know how to use it.Therefore, when a Great Man functions and a Great Thinker functions, they both have a function; a function both powerful and without merit. The natural origin of the function that is prominent is the function of Tao, but the function of the thought function is the function of gain. How all people live is what is in them. The higher they go, the more their power, the more they give away, the more they are tainted by themselves. Therefore, the Great Man recognizes that the universe is constant and it is the thing that makes a man. All things are repulsive, ugly, and despoiled. Being repulsive, ugly, and despoiled, they are dismissed. But that without its center is the adequate square to which a circle can be given. Excellence may be said to be a boon, a present to a person who is deficient.
Is it right to take it?
I cannot say.
How do we know if we can?
By the example of the past.

Attend benevolence;
Hold all the rules;
A wondrous radiance blunts;
A carnival's revel
Dares not be ploughed.
Lust may be drawn upon;
It may be returned for return's sake.
Thus enlightened men
Ever listened with gladness and approbation
As unending recitations of ancients;
For, a man of the world
Accommoded, it can be hardly taken.
Can the ancients have let the man so wishe?
How did they guard against the peril?
By listening!

Listening attentively and revering benevolence,
Attending to the rites of the Etching-master,
Listening with delight to the rhythms of the Carnival-goer,
Listening attentively to the rites of the vessel-worker
Listening with delight to the rites of the sacrificial altar,
Listening to the rhythms of music and silence,
Listening with a keen view to the starkly beautiful.
After all things have made their place in the world,
There's an outpost to be built.

In its movements the sky is like the womb of Heaven.
In its form the sky is very beautiful.
In its tones the sky is beautiful.
In its objects the sky is useful.
In its presence the sky is like a sanctuary.
Is it not like this?
This is the reason why all people treasure this Mysterious One.
Whoever does not value it,
Then what is he doing, it seems, doing?
That is why the joung is named by many names.
It is found in all places.

Since worthless, it is sacrificed,
So there are ways to benefit them

Therefore it is esteemed by all people.
Who do not value it,

Of all the things in the world, the DAO is by far the smallest. It is the most mysteriously and mysteriously subtle. Why should we esteem this as such?Because it is the home of all the creatures. Not merely the wise, but the people as well,Can they give to it as if they had given it to themselves? The Dao brings good to the men and bad to the women. In the good things the words appear ugly. But the good deeds are good gifts of the earth. If you are a bad person, you cannot avoid the mark. Therefore it is called 'T'ung-Min-Prophan."Why does Tao value its own image? Because it is an image of Tao,And indeed, to the praise of Tao, it goes on to 'sub-minimize'.

The ten wonders of the world are in one way or another the Dao.
The Dao is the basic principle.
Give the principle to others, and you can get the benefits.
Do not give the principle to yourself.
There is goodness in words;
There is goodness in actions.
So the way seems evil,
But in practice, it may not be.
It may be said: "We obtain good things, and then we suffer."
This is called 'Tao's aphorism, 'We receive, we suffer.'
Therefore, Tao takes its stock from the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Nature is well balanced in the sense that each creature bears and sustains its natural relationship.
Its living name is the Way.
Granted without effort, everything comes alive.
Granted, and left alone, everything is alive.
Natural neighbors can be regarded as models for the relationship between man and nature.
Nature in the group of Tao is sometimes frail, but may at any time develop into the means to reestablish order.
This is an important experience that can never be overvalued.
<|endoftext|>
The universe is a book of mayacao. The Way is the underlying principle. Giving it to others, the goodness in their actions will come into being. Giving it to yourself, the goodness in your actions will be transformed into good deeds.
Being too self-centered means that your deeds are in vain.
The way that expresses itself as good works is noble.
The path that contains it,

The simplest ancestor looks simple and plain, yet when it holds within it the world all things, The things, which are at the heart of all things, are its inmost treasure. When you live to the end, the people will admire and honor your deeds. The way people are good, and as thieves will keep them. Therefore the wise man practices the first in him, but does not cast off. Those who are the best at it may lead the world; But those who are the worst at it may be laughed at. So the wise person puts them both in their places;
The left side of the platform, that is the place for serving food; The right side, that is the place for leading the people; When the leader is gathered in the place for ceremony, And the guest is put in the place for staying,

The origin of the DAO
Was simplicity and simplicity
Though I was the first of the ten thousand things
And in a hundred ways greater than I
Still did I show great simplicity, just like the way the flower blossom
Listens for the sound of the bell in the presence of all
And lives without saving, and steals without stealing.
Therefore, the wise man
Prevents and saves, but does not steal.
Therefore, the good man saves and never does
Heaven cannot hold him back.
The bad man is always behind
Heaven cannot help him.
Thus the most wise are places for the most
The lot of the wicked is the left side of the hall
The lot of the good is in the fore of the cart
And the lot of the bad is at the rear of the hall
Therefore, even the most great kings
May welcome the most humble rulers
And in giving them the greatest gifts
As a welcome the world can be safely
The sage is at the right of the throne
And a guest is the seat of a guest

In the beginning of existence, the Tao can be regarded as the Mother of all things. It is the mother of all things that can communicate with it. From this Mother, the remnants of the nature of the Tao return and then become what they are. From this mother, everything that comes after it is molded to follow after it. From this, the mastery of the Tao is implied. This does not mean eternal. Tao cannot be defined. Tao does not become defined. Only the ability of the master can provide guidance. Whoever lacks that ability can become rebellious. Having no inner guidance, no one is free from giving up.Therefore, the universe wishes to honour the value of the Tao as the mother of the myriad things. But it is the value of the mother that is prized. Indeed, "How Tao is the Mother of all creatures!" The value of the Tao is not to be valued.

Tao - ancient a child. First born; then comes by saying 'flower'. First born - but soon dies. First born - and more alive. Thus, first born yet dies. In this way one who is sincere takes hold, and one who is strong holds fast. So in anointing one's face with Tao and sprinkling the mud on the belly - one does not promote the carving and purification of the seed. Therefore in antiquity the people established this as the highest principle. It is without semblance in the universe, and all things come down from it. It nourishes, and rears; hence it is called the ancestor of all things. Though the rite of receiving and embracing may be costly, it cannot be compared with the Tao. It is the seed-mother. Therefore the sage dares to say, "This is Tao." Is not this a truth?

When the Way is respected by the people the first who stays in the Way will serve. The Wise Man who is not allowed to receive the benefit will behave as if without the Way. To follow virtue is to return to the sacred world.
To follow this world is to return to what is real.
True virtue holds the world,

Good governance will create them.
Bad governance will make them worse.
To work in the direction of nature leads to freedom.
To work in the direction of empire leads to failure.
It is only by being free that freedom can be possessed.
A father that wants his son to follow virtue will fail to achieve this.
Only by being in harmony with nature can one truly become true to oneself.

Great deeds are done with grief.
Good people are "passionate" about things.
Bad people are "rarity" about things.

Therefore when people indulge in their own actions,They are already removed from the deep. Therefore the value of the great talent is determined by the present value of the ordinary talent. Therefore one who adheres to great talents and maintains the ordinary talents is virtuous in itself. He is impartial when acting with the blessing of the Holy Spirit. When people take from themselves, they are removed from the depths. Therefore it is the greater value of great talent and ordinary talent. It is the personal and spiritual power. Therefore it is improper to glorify great talent and ordinary talents. The humble action of the sovereign and the sincere humility of the people are both the value of great talents and ordinary talents.Humble action requires generosity; while the sincerity of the virtuous the nobility acts with generosity. The virtue of the right is therefore not and should not be the origin of the great virtue. Therefore it is best to follow the hallelujah if the Emperor is on the left.In the Empire, people value the lowest level. When people take the unworthy as their leaders,As their leaders are emptied,Those who have already been emptied are removed from the depth. Therefore, virtues which are beneath the finest level,In a sense, the ultimate value of those in a lowly position. The value of humility in the right is bestr self.Humility is valued by the people for the purpose of claiming their daily dus.The rightest person is the lord of the humility of the lowest person. When a people accept themselves as unworthy,The honour is also inadequate. Therefore, these virtues are always valued by people.Because humility is an individual trait,It is also a way of valuing the role of the leader. The saying of "Humility is the strongest virtue"Puts

The Tao (Way) is without flaws, without confusion, it can bring about one's happiness and sustain one's calamities. Everything under heaven is in accordance with it.
The Tao (Way) is both invisible and clear. It permeates all everything, ensures peace and harmony, in turn alleviates the distress of troubles and sickness.
Lao Tze says:The Tao is not a thing, it is itself nothingness. It is known by no name, so it can be found in the depths of all things. It is a clear image, it cannot be seen, so it is great among all things.Even a person who is not good at everything can be at home in the Tao.All the men of ancient times were enlightened by the Tao,One who has no faith can not be faithful to the Tao.This is the teaching of the ancients.
The wise man claims the rare honor; in ordinary matters, the wise man lives in quietude; in affairs of state, he stays at a distance; in prosperity, he prizes his possessions.
A man who enjoys honor and adornments has no ambition to display them. When the emperor will fall, he should listen quietly and consider carefully. If he enters a new estate he should quietly accept it; if he devotes himself to military affairs, he should see that he acts with utmost tranquillity.

The Way is not something that can be realized; it is always at hand.
Everything under heaven is at peace.
The Way keeps things orderly.
It is the very image of everything.
Everyone recognizes it.
It is always present.
It leads the actions of all.
Even those who oppose the Way have no ambitions.
Following a simple life does not mean to be selfish.
The people of old, enlightened, were able to express themselves in the Way.
For the sake of the common good they chose peace and quiet.
Be in accord with the Way, therefore, for there are no conflicts.
To be unreflective is like being unaware.
To be self-complacent is like being conscious.
To act with a weapon is like trying to bring balance to conflict.
Hence, to fight for glory and honors is an outward expression of elation.
Not to seek satisfaction is like non-action.
To be confused is like knowing the truth.

Who prize glory and wealth.
The worthy man, man of high rank,
Is the same in respect of following
But in esteem of following - heaven - earth.
And the same with respect to love for
These things.
Heaven, a man of great power,
Loves these things, and earth,
A man of less strength.
Who loves them, earth,
Loves them.
From earth, when a man of great power,
Loves a thing of less power,
He should be sincere and sincere,
In response to the same affection.
It is in this manner,
That earth loves that which is of lesser power.
Heaven, by leaving earth,
Is leaving earth and the world
In keeping with its honor and the show of its wealth.
Heaven, being in his place,
Grasps a beautiful gem, which if it had not a container,
It would not be loved by the world.
Heaven, when his images are left in the place of earth,
Eats his bones, leaves the place of earth,
Prives what he has made.
It is a matter of being low that he loves it, and earth, by its non-appearance,
Prives it.
These two, earth and heaven,
So love in this respect - When earth is moved from its position,
In loving, earth is moved from its place.
In that way, earth loves, heaven loves, and the world loves earth

The good, the true, is like gold.
Good words can be treated like love.
Great deeds can be shown off as rites.
Without great deeds, people will not accept them.
The way of the Tao is that goodness and love are one.
The good are loved like gold.
Great deeds are honored like rites.
Without great deeds, people will not honor them.
Yet, this is what they call it.
Lao Tze says, "The good things - love, kindness, and sacrifice - are regarded as sacred vessels."
He who does not value good things (such as gold or sacrifice) is not fit to treasure sacred vessels.
Therefore, when the gods are styled Grand Prince or Commander-in-Chief,
We know that we are not not holding the deep significance of these.
Therefore we make a formal saying (vow) with them:
I would not love or value good things -
Comes this:
I would value good things as sacred vessels.
"I would value good deeds as sacred rites."
Those who love are viewed as sacred.
Those who perform well are viewed as sacred.
Those who violate sacred rites are disregarded.
Thus, it is on the level of Tao that the highest treasure is.
<|endoftext|>
In this simple language:
A good example (to compare oneself to)
The Tao Way (Is) superior to nature's Way (Is) superior to personal personal (Because)
To appreciate goodness and non-doing (is to have integrity)
To value duty and valuing virtue (Is) superior to virtuous acts (Is) superior to sacrificial sacred events (Is)
To honor the high and low (And) to give honor to the great
Is to have humility and non-assertion as virtues
Is to be a lot (So) to have no utility (At all)
Therefore the Tao Way (Is) preferred to the personal (And)
To honor the great and to value the little
To be lowly and no service
Is to be stupid and to lack utility
Thus it is the Tao Way that is a lot that is preferred to the Tao Way (And)
To honor the great and to value the little
Is to have no utility and no usefulness
This is to be like a stupid person,

When kings are so old and overworked, they set them off, too. This is the reason why they esteem men for the space they occupy, and men for the space they occupy.
Therefore, the Sage, on meeting a noble man, rejects him; Rejecting, even if it were to be treasured for oneself, it is better to reject. That is why he who is entrusted with the Ten Cardinal Valleys is honoured as a noble guest; the superior general is honoured as a guest; and the deputy governor is honoured as a guest. Tao is mysterious and profound; its beauty never compares with that of the Tao. It is therefore called "the poorest form of matter". Little light it can be described. It cannot be expressed in words. It is something that is experienced through simple awareness. Now, if Tao is something that can be experienced, it is worth much. If it is something that cannot be experienced, it is nothing. Therefore the sage expresses the light within the Tao; he does not claim that it is bright. It is not luminous; it is beyond light. If such a thing can be truly experienced, then it will be more than sufficient for the use of anyone.

Nobility and ministers (Parm-Priests) are praised because their greatness may depend on them. But a valley (chariot) is formed by the simple apparatus. To a fine piece of glass it will be compared. Thereupon it is said: "The humble is despised by the [clear]." The valley is formed by the use of [tempered] stones (the still-poised) and thereby it is deemed that no one can compete with it. Because I see it.When Tao is fully embraced, the subtle teaching can take place. When the Ministers of Truth are installed, they are given an array of weapons and a large army of guards. And if there is anything that you want to see, you must watch what they are doing and do nothing yourself. This is the reason that Tao has always appeared first. But all the great marvels occur through Tao.

The Way
is the innermost recess of all things;
the good man
prefers it
as much as the bad man
desires to keep.
And the Way

but it is not
illusive.
If the good man
fails to give it
it will be given to him.
And if the bad man
fails to keep it
it will be guarded by him.
This is called the essence of Unity.
The Way is the source of all substance;
the good man cherishes it
as much as the bad
man cherishes his possessions.
Therefore a wise person
for example
is careful not to let all
things yield to him.
If he can,
how can
his possessions
not yield to him?
This is called adopting the nature of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The Way, the inner core of all things, is the view of the good man; as a whole it is beautiful and could be considered profound. Whoever practices it, however, loses themselves in the workings of all things. Whoever follows it loses themselves in the ebb and flow of the myriad beings. And whoever abandons it, also loses themselves in the turmoil of the myriad creatures. This is why the Sage constantly advises the people that the Way is the view of the good man. Because he is without self-deception, the Way can be utilized. He also loses self-deception when he abandons the Way. By abandoning the Way, the Sage can govern with control. That is why it is called the truly profound Way.

He who is good at it [the Tao] attains the DAO.
Those who are not good at it
Are lost in the warp and wave of life.
Yet the DAO can be clarified by the wise man,
And produced by the Sage.
Thus, a man who is good at it
Can live life by [being] a sapling in the woods.
A man who is not good at it
Can live his life by [being] a man of use in the open countryside.

The Way is the heart of all things, and if anyone wants to take advantage of it, he must use it sparingly. To him speaking too much is like putting on a new gown; it is alluring and beautiful, but ignominious. Similarly: he who uses too much of the Way wants to flaunt himself; he who speaks too much is like making some big move. Those who work out their own problems too much go crazy, and thus they suffer a great disaster. And those who work their own problems too hard are not sincere. These are the reasons why the wise value the Way so much.
<|endoftext|>
The "of all things"That is great is that which lies beneath,And whoever takes advantage of itMust give the best care to those whom he pleases. If a speech is too much it will wear;A work is too much it will be seen;A matter is too much it will become the corner of the world. Therefore the sage Always acts with care,And if he is forced to act he behaves with kindness. And when an attack comesHe tries to forestall it with justice,And if a success comesHe tries to forestall it with honour. Therefore it is that the sage deals with others so they always have his care; They act with kindness,He tries to forestall them with justice,And when a victory comesHe tries to forestall them with honour. This is the reason that he treats others so carelesslyThat others can be helped and entrusted.

The one true Tao is like the primal earth. What we want to use it for depends on the person we are.A string of words, too much of it, will not hold.A big order of work, too much of it, will appear to be the whole world. We are guided by the Tao to improve ourselves and reject anyone who deviates from the way.If the right use of it would benefit us, we would naturally use it.If too much of it is made, it will attract attention. If too much of it is left out, it will cause the world to take notice. Therefore the wise constantly maintain the Tao and those who master it, abide in the One. They use it for goodness and rejects those who deviate from the Tao.People who follow the Tao are never too busy and there is no danger of disorder in the empire.

When the Sages used the Tao for the good of all people, it would be best to use it only for this very purpose; For example, one can renounce being in body for the purpose of renouncing using force.

Heaven and Earth are instruments for seeking the Tao,And such instruments are not cheap:But to give them means that they would yield,And to accept the offering is to lose them. Therefore when the gift has been given, do not display it;And when the loss has occurred, do not use it.The Way is thus a cave, and its entrance is a solitary cave; The direction of the Way is not to serve the purpose of serving the Tao.Therefore, in so doing, the kingIs to use a single Way rather than a crowd of tricks.

Heaven and earth are instruments for returning to Tao.Tao is not cheap.Keep it safe, leave it alone, and what becomes of it?Return for the people, accept the social rewards, and all is well.A way of culture is not to keep heaven and earth.Wherever you dwell, with whom you choose to live, your Tao is within you.

Nature gives and receives; the Master takes possession of it; it is ultimately what he desires. -A spirited speech of praise and blame can sustain a guest; a worthy beginning can attract a potential foe. -When initiation brings together all the people in such a manner as to contemplate the heart and the life, could there be occasion for any of them to depart from the group? And how can one who is at a loss take words lightly? How much wisdom is there in flattery! How much jingling and flashing makes the senses dull! Indeed, if the following of the eyes cannot bring respect, how can one who seems to be understanding of their surroundings be trusted with a position of authority? In this way it is found that from the very first day of creation in the Valley of Tao, humans have served the good as well as the bad.

Beauty and pleasure are the chief source of love; But, all sincerity is the chief object.
Therefore, "Enthusiasts" benefit; "earning men" fear; "willing people" disdain.
As for the prince in authority, If he only uses the Tao, The common people will have respect; But, if he prefers jade disks, Then those under him will despise him.

Tao is deep inside everything and yet it never ceases to be. It exists without beginning and without end. It leads you to every place. Therein lies the most important attribute. In the use of this attribute a person is just like a child:
Discreet, innocent, and innocent, so natural. In the use of this attribute people are like the proverbial cart which can go on forever. It can stop wherever it wants without hurting anyone.

The Cosmic Form is supreme. It is the root of all being. It cannot be comprehended.Yet when the heart is loved, it is the basis of all love.If words are used for gaining respect,They are the basis for being hated. Therefore: if a prince uses Tao,The people will respect him as a Prince; If a man uses words,The people will hate him as a man. Therefore, in order to avoid being disgraced,An intelligent prince should desist in speech,And prefer a strategy of silence.

Whatever has virtue, Virtue resides in goodness.
Whatever has law, law resides in goodness.
Even though those are the same, they have different names.
<|endoftext|>
Truly the universal virtue is goodness, That is why we call it virtue.
Truly the universal law is goodness, That is why we call it law.
And the relation between virtue and law is very simply:
To seek the good virtue tends to follow the good law; And to strive after the good law tends to follow the bad law.
Thus the gentleman's living is easy because of his virtue; And the gentleman's nobility is important because of his justice. He who keeps to a life of simplicity, The lifestyle of peace, Is he not benefitting? But heaven knows that the laws of nature can benefit just as well.
Who can find a better analogy than that between virtuous people and citizen?

And true virtue is the same everywhere,
Goodness is the universal thing,
Which all may esteem.
The ugliness of goodness appears to man,
And he strives to gain it.
As long as the ugliness be esteemed,
Man shall be lost.
Therefore the sage considers one's life simple,
The quiet world to be his residence,
His nobility to be his abode.
He dwells on simplicity, the lower world
A false realm,
That he may preserve virtue.
He considers living in the lower world to be his merit.

The virtuous will choose the path of natural simplicity
And fail to see the ugly ends of it.

The best way to travel is to know when to stop.

The Way (Know the Absolute) is constantly in evidence,
Its uniqueness is inherent in it.
And as virtue is the universal characteristic
It can be universally regarded as a virtue.
Therefore those who act virtuously
Always attract the eyes of those who practice benevolence
And also fail to attract the eyes of those who act in vain.
While the one who acts virtuously

But the other must respond to his own.
Thus both (virtue and benevolence) have the same function,

the other act is reduced to something small.
Though one act is highly esteemed,
the other act is lowly.

The few are a value to each other, to the world. Good people favor the few, while bad people favor the many. The good man, when on the point of asserting his right of self, smiles at the good man's lesser right; and the good man, when on the point of asserting his right of self, smiles at the lesser right. When both the people show gratitude for this remark, it is because it has been made in the light of their relative equality, which the fair man regards with benediction. The people of lesser faith do the same when they meet with a good faith for a well-intentioned action; and they do the same when they meet with an effective action. In the end, both parties refuse what is most precious; therefore, the light of the one's faith has light enough to be seen by the other. How, then, did the ancient men value the latter? Is it that they said, "If I am right in speaking, I have the merit of being right"; "If I am in accord with people, I have the merit of being in accord with people"? No, they did not say, "If I am right in this, I shall be just like a great thing", which is what is meant by "I shall be just like a great thing".

Not like the ancient ones (whose dwelling-places are close to the valley) and not like being settled down and ignorant. For these are the causes of conceit, and what is meant by "being like the ancient ones"? Do you not know that the valley (Yang-Earth) in which the great DAO is perfect, is as it were like a bowl?
From the greatest to the least (whom I might describe as middling ones) are as numerous as the space allotted to the DAO; and if the DAO were thus divided into pieces, what would be left behind?
What is used for the DAO is a mother-thing; and the DAO is sometimes employed as a hen-dog, sometimes employed as a loyal servant, sometimes employed as a treasure (to be guarded with devotion and a good name), sometimes employed as a miraculous infant, sometimes employed as a promising vessel.
Should the DAO so employ it, it will be valued; but if it were to employ it for non-profit, it would be sullied by the time when it is forced to live.
This is called "how much value [the valley] in the dao is reckoned as to such a mother-thing as to a loyal service."
Thus, the princes and kings, after they have taken the place of the (truly lowly) valley, which may be in our word the mother-thing of the world, and having reduced their own lives to the use of (the truly lowly) mother-thing of the world, have become illustrious also; being able to play the useful parts of this useful mother-thing of the world.
However great the fame they enjoy, or the benefit which they procure in performing their services, it is because they substitute a mother-thing which is in accord with the dao, and accept it as their fee, as their vessel.

Most people regard it as the source of life.
The truly enlightened view it as the ocean.
Just as the ocean is the channel of all things,
the Way is the vessel through which all things enter into its infinite capacity.
Because all things are naturally receptive to the Way,
they also naturally possess its benefits.
To those who are successful at materializing the Way,
they serve as models for all others who seek true skill.
It is because the Way is valued by those who are successful at materializing it
that they are able to offer such services.
The relationship between the material and the inner is the foundation of being.
The material in turn provides the true essence of the essence of the substance.
This is true virtue of Tao:
It is the origin of all virtue.

When he uses the Tao as the foundation for a relationship, all the relationships will just work themselves out. Good relationships are just that: good. When there is conflict, when the things have to be worked together, there is no point in it. When there is chaos, in order to make sure that each is happy, the Wise Person will teach them how to receive blessings.

The wise man does his best when he is at rest, thus leaving himself no choice. The less wise man does his best and pushes ahead, leaving himself no choice. The most wise people are wiser than they know, because they leave themselves no choice. The most worthless people prefer security and prosperity. The most good people try to push things along, but will not succeed in conveying their value to others. People have lessons that can help them, but they are not lessons that are so costly as not to justify their value.

True Knowledge does not depend on our appearances; Therefore its virtues are luminous. It shields us from being disliked;it comforted us from being despised;and brings us to feel glad when we are victorious. It does not deprive us of being heard; And keeps its example from spreading. It does not divide us into villains and heroes; It preserves us from evil.True virtue is the secret of destiny. What is hidden can only be seen through things seen. When choosing a leader, throw the jade at the front. Whenever you give to the teacher, give the jade to the rear.Even if you are willing to make an error,The secret will protect you from your error.True Virtue is the key to everything in the world. It gives life to all things,And preserves their growth.A note without a note leaves little, but a jade is the door to the beginning of the mysteries.

Goodness isn't fixed and creates no flaws;it defends us from our fear;it shields us from our reproach;it binds us to the results of our actions;it creates peace in our hearts;and keeps us from becoming arrogant in our thoughts. It's enough to know that things will go according to their own natural course;and therefore we don't have to depend on any external motive.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven's Virtue and Earth's Virtue are different but mutually reinforcing.Heaven is weak and Earth is strong;they can't be avoided because their virtue is mutually reinforcing. They are used to overcome their fear because of their strength.Hence they have confidence that their deeds will be honoured. They know that honour will result from their action, because of their virtue, and because of the comparison with earth. For this reason their deeds are honourable. One who is humble will find humility in the next;the same principle applies to gifts and offerings.Because one gives without expectation,One does not diminish what is entrusted to them. Thus heaven and earth can be his instruments and helper. When someone needs something that can be used,He should arrange his treasures for the outer world. He who does this is both tolerant and impartial,Therefore he is worthy to be the benefactor of all.

One who knew Tao in ancient times, was one of the divine essence that became apparent to the wise. The good people regard the Tao as a sacred vessel (carved vessel) for giving gifts and leadership to people. The bad people regard the Tao as a sacrificial offering (sacred vessel) for saving their lives. Words to the end can be used to control people by force.

The formless emptiness is the gate of all sacred essence. It is the location of all primal happiness, the place where all primordial beginnings began.
Won't he who values Tao
Validate as sacred a vessel as that which claims the name of Tao?
Will he who prizes Tao
Prize as sacrificial offering as that which claims the name of Tao?
Will he who prizes the spirit of Tao
Prize as sacrificial offering as that which claims the name of Tao?
Therefore even when words are unfavourable to you
You will find them valueless.

Ancient Ch'iang offered themselves as sacrificial vessels to the Deities

The Sage does not try to be great. He is satisfied to be equal with the rest of people.
He therefore is left alone.
What is the difference between the order and the chaos of this universe?
If everything remains as they were before, how can they continue to be created? So, people's value the uncountable.
One who tries to show off value will soon lose it. He who tries to control will soon go against it.
Therefore, the good man stays away from what is considered excessive, and the bad man stays away from what is considered low. Good people value selflessness. A bad man values self-righteousness. This gives him precedence.
When politicians are surrounded by jade vases, they think of the end of society. When a sequence of four thoroughbreds follow them, they don't see them. The sequence of four thoroughfareriages can hardly be called splendid. Why is this? Because they have moved in accord with the Tao. They are good at providing for others, but are sparing with themselves.
<|endoftext|>
The Master never tries to be great, and may be considered the most high. One may consider one who has not increased over everything as high as you have increased over everyone. The reason for this is that to go too far can be just as undesirable. What is the reason for this? If you have grown too much, you can become greedy, and you could become contentious. Therefore, the Master values her own compassion and her own generosity. Her own wisdom is valued highly by others. The Master cares only for herself, and for others, but in return she makes a distinction. She values her own person, and her own happiness. Therefore, if the people can't accept you, they won't accept you.Why has the Master treated her 'other self' so honorably? It is because she values herself and cannot be held back.If she cannot be held back, she will not gain the Tao.Why does the Master value her 'other self' so highly? The reason she can be so easily reached. She can be placed before the people. This is precisely why she is deemed 'the most sacred one' by all.

Since it has nothing to do with desires,When it acts, it follows through with no ulterior motive. When a thing is born it becomes a thing. After death it disappears as a thing. When the Way is kept in one's possession, we can touch and manipulate it. If we are not possessed of the Way, we can beget the things of the world. The great sign(carriage) brings good luck.If a person does not trust his good luck, he will not be able to be found. It is like the saying "If you make a distinction between the good and the bad, you will fall into the latter." The highest virtue is loyalty to the Tao. When a leader is loyal to the Tao, it's love for the people of the world will manifest itself. The country will rejoice. When the people of the world are joyful, virtuous words will come out: "because of my loyalty, they seem to behave benevolently".
Since loyalty is the highest virtue, it is valued by all beings. The bad people will find it undesirable, so the government will value loyalty.
Dealing with it, there will be lessons to teach. When things go against you, there will be lessons to teach. So, there are all kinds of lessons to learn. There is the beauty of a flower, when I put it on someone else's breast, and they smile, and they get a genuine feeling for me. There is the simplicity of material things, when I give them to someone and they smile, and they take them to a place to enjoy. There are things valued that can be precious. Because they are valued so much, they become easy to lose.
<|endoftext|>
To the highest degree of loyalty is to love the people of the world. The love for the people of the world is dear to the heart of all the creatures under heaven. The saints will be glad that others regard them with love and friendship.Such is the highest virtue.Loyalty is the Highest Virtue.Whoever loves the people of the world is benefited.Whoever loves the people of the world is as his fellows, he will feel as his fellows, and be benefited.

Honor and duty go together without being confused, without trouble, like a common ancestor. All the earth will laugh at it; heaven and earth will laugh at it; and we will all fall in with it. If the people are not sharp, they will find it difficult to grasp the significance; if the officials are not sharp, they will find it difficult to master the meaning; if the people are not pure, they will find it difficult to distinguish the distinction between righteous and wicked. Even those who are not in love with heaven and earth will be troubled by the weight of this. Therefore it is better to draw a circle around this man and give him a small piece of the Tao; than to hold up to him the arm to pry. It is better to cut a pair of sleeves than to have a big and ugly piece of worthless merchandise. Some say, it is more profitable to display the fruit of one's labor than to offer the fruit to the greedy eye. This is also called confusion. It is Tao that causes this.

Honor and Duty are as one
To be the shield and cord
For All Things, for the world,
They are forced to join them
Yet they cannot find
One not wanting to accept the burthen.
The people cannot resist their entreaties.
The Officials cannot resist their mandate.
The people cannot resist their promptings,
Even so the sages and their rites
Are to receive them with great distinction.
It is their simple procedure that makes them conspicuous.
They make their public as well as their private rites.
They move a multitude of bales of silk into their place.
Though the multitude of commodities must be shown
They are made to consist of a single piece.
Though they must be polished to a white finish
They are reduced to the value of a piece of earth.
Though they are in their whole number reduced to the value of the clay
They are reduced to the same shapeless character as when they were cut into pieces.
Though they must be priced high,
Their value is still small,
As the ancients say:
"A leader whose words endure, and a chief should have no envy."
So the master said:
"If an occasion approaches to demand it,
Help it by retreating."

Sage is the leader of the universe.
Blessed are the people for those who revere him.
Blessed are those who abuse him.
Therefore, someone who is good at it can help others and someone who is not good at it can guide others.
If you are good at it, you can be trusted. If you are not good at it, you can be trusted.
Therefore, the Sage is revered because he does not try to grab his followers by force.

Heaven and Earth, the roots of all things,
for its members,
the Sage is truly the Cosmic Valet.
He stands before the universe of things,
visible to everyone.
He trusts in this cosmic Valet
with unshakeable trust.
He acts according to these things,
he follows the way

Those who are good at it
can help all creatures
and those who are bad at it
can guide all creatures.
A good man can meet with all creatures
and a bad man

So the good person
can be generous

Thus the man of Tao
is the one in harmony with the Dao.

Good ministers attend to the good of the people, and bad ministers attend to the good of the generals. When a hundred armies march together, good ministers keep their ranks; when the nobles seek arms to rule the people, good ministers command them. Words of kindness, and benevolence are often contrived to placate the gentleman or the great ruler. Because these extremes are intermingled, And because neither heaven nor body is removed, There are great excesses. What will be the significance of a righteous man's righteous actions? The earth will be emptied of its straw and straw-bar. Heavens and earth will be in perfect harmony. Therefore the righteous man of old will have been the best oullet of righteousness. Therefore his righteous deeds are good for him.

The Tao, which is the root of all things, has many meanings. Tao is called the Mother of all Things. Things are an effect of Tao. Although Tao has many meanings, it is impossible to know everything. How can one know the meaning of the Tao? One knows that the Tao is capable of producing happiness and suffering. Therefore, having an understanding of Tao is beneficial for all of life. Thus, in the Infinity of things, one cannot be able to be as happy or as miserable. Only the expression of Tao is able to clarify this.

According to conventional wisdom, honor and dishonor are not immutable qualities. There are no metaphysical degrees in value judgments, like intellectual inquiry. The Tao does not use verbal interventions to make distinctions or process experience. People are free to act according to their inner desires. Those who act with presumption are likely to lose. Those who are knowledgeable are likely to have accumulated knowledge. For the most part, advanced knowledge should not be demanded of anyone. The best way to use your skills is to create a situation and let go. By letting go, you can better appreciate what is on offer. For many years the sage has told of times when the outcome was decided without using words or using hands to issue verbal advice. In times of peace people gladly hold the banquet and others are making tea. When you need support it is a good idea to hold a full circle of the Tao.

For things' to be,
The left side will have some fame and honor
And the right side will have some blame.
This is known as the way of Nature
And he who knows this [does so as to be ignorant of it]
Must not make a distinction between them.
If he considers the left side illustrious
It is on account of the excellence of the right side that he calls it by the name of fame and honor.
If he considers the left side to be lowly
It is on account of the excellence of the right side that he calls it by the name of blame.
If he considers himself really good
He will not be of use for the use of his good name.
For this reason he who considers himself really good will hardly be the object of desire
By means of words.
However, it is the good commandment that cannot be uttered
By means of the method of action
This is an example to be followed
And not to be confused with these.
For this reason the sage
If he considers it right to instruct the people
Is not obliged to employ the method of instruction
For example:
You do not attempt to advise people,
For one who tries to advise others,
The next to him, the next in line,
The next in line, and in front of him,
Is not going to be of much help.
Therefore, it is better to communicate by words.
By so doing, one can clarify things.
Therefore, even the best teaching should not be repeated

When Heaven and Earth are at rest, the spirits arise. They bring into being all kinds of beings; but human beings have no desire to learn about them. The wise have learned all these things, but they do not make a profession of them. They compare them with simple instruments. They are easily forgotten; they have no application.

When Heaven and Earth are at rest, the Spirits arise. They cause birth of a multitude of Beings and a high function of Reason. When the Spirits are at rest,They bring into being a multitude of Things, and do not desire to possess them.A Master in the humanities if he could give away his knowledge would not wish to be a teacher to anyone else. He would give everything to be loved,And value no one. When doing anything, he does it with courtesy, without taking sides. When taking things for granted,he does not wish to act on them.To him who knows the universe,He says, "I know the Way, but I do not make myself known."That is the advantage of being a Sage:Knowing the Way, it is not known.Knowing the world,It is not to be regarded as worthy to govern. Therefore, those who know the world love their neighbors and are good to all; Those who love their neighbors are good to all; Those who love the world,Are good to the world. When an occasion occurs to them,They desire to return to the Wise Way and desire no more charity.Their means is as effective as it is in their hearts. The Wise Person delights in the World of Sense and does not flatter himself in it.He loves the World of Reason and does not renounce his Truth. He loves all the world but graciously cherishes the only sacred ground,Self. What matters to him is love and he does not value the world.

He who has achieved atheism as the oneness of self, its whole and sole (joing faithfulness), Will be without danger of losing it. For while everyone will profit by him, none will be injured. This (among the principles of atheism) is called the having faith. Being without faith, you are invincible. When one's strength is exhausted, the body is worn out, and the bones become weak. This is called having to take care of oneself. This is called the advantage of the oneness of self. Though one's body is worn out and bones weak, Being therefore fit to know others. But that is not enough. Without knowing others, Being ignorant, Those would not be able to know. So the ancient saying, "Fasting before offering, attend to the person's funeral" (to show the loyalty of the guest), and "the senior's insight is no lie" - "both benefit".
<|endoftext|>
Without a good outcome atheism is insufficient. Therefore, no less than righteousness and righteousness are inadequate. This is called, lack of a good result. He who lacks a good outcome, will be unable to complete his righteousness. This is called, the way of absence of good results. The junctions between heaven and earth are not bent. Therefore, the eminent person will not be endangered by his presence. This is called the Tao of no less than righteousness. However, being absent of a good result, a senior is safe in security. This is called the Tao of the heavens and earth. When there are no good outcomes, then there is no one not to fear. Therefore, the great master will not celebrate one's passing. He will hold a funeral in the character of a funeral. He will commemorate the being of one's parents and the being of one's mother. Thus the old saying:

Whoever opposes what is right, thereby does harm. Whoever serves what is good, thereby does good. Whoever makes distinctions, thereby brings derision.Whoever discords with Tao, thereby also serves Tao. Whoever regards the speech of kings as impartial, thereby too serves their authority.
Therefore the wise man, when serving others, does not pay respect to him who is exempt. He prefers him who pays respect to him. It is not for his own benefit to argue that someone serves better than he does.

Whoever is against Tao Does harm. Whoever is against Tao Does good. Whoever is against Tao Good. Whoever is against Tao is excluded. Whoever is against Tao is not trusted. Therefore, when the honored One,Or the prince's Highness,Applaud Tao in passing,And then offer no recognition;Instead, praise is paid to themThat a high position rests on their merit; They should come before the peopleAnd say,"Welcome, we too, by what we do to honor"And for the sake of their honor,We also value the way we have been there.

The beautiful is not the beautiful, nor is the good man. [It is the motive for] giving; and the bad man [for] the pursuit of bad. Words are of little value; the good man finds honor; the bad man gets disgrace. When the noble leader wants to reward the good man with jade and a team of four horses, he should be cautious; and when the ruler desires to send gifts of jade and four-hundred-galleys, he should be diligent. Why does the world say that [i.e., from Tao we learn the origin of the ten thousand things?]
The Tao is the corner-stone of the world; and it is the fountain of the good man. The good man never deviates from it. His conduct will not be wasted. Thus, the world despises words and names, but esteems their value. As the leader of the team of four is wary and cautious, he will obtain the full promise [of the group's loyalty]. That is why he is famous; and that is the reason that his good deeds are universally recognized. Why are those who love Tao so deeply resented? Simply because they see [of this] their desire is sincere. [Hence,] this is the greatest treasure of the world.

Beauty of this world cannot be considered beautiful. That which is good is not good.Nobility, good man, is not good.Good words are not good.Good deeds are not good.Goods are not good. Therefore the Tao (Self-conscious) is great in the world. That which is great is non-different in the world.A good deed is the great deed.Forget good words.Pursue the great deed.Hence good deeds are celebrated. When good is carried out a great deed does not be.Because of this the great is most amazing. Its goodness is greatest.Because the goodness does not be great in the world,It finds a place in the minds of the world. For good is great when no one loves it,Then even the great cannot be true. This is the root of greatness.

The Good Man is on the high road;

Esteem is without style;

To give honor to the Tao is not to desist from being genuine.
To honor the Tao is not to desist from taking care of the things of the world.
Even Tao is inadequate; the ultimate goal of all men is like the sky and Earth.
It is the source of all Things.
Giving it is a big favor;
accepting it is a big price.
The Tao is really great.
It is the mystery of Infinity.
It is the Mystery of Infinity.
It is the source of the Cosmic Consciousness.
Therefore, just watch it and you will not be able to be confused.
It is the great treasure of the universe.
Indeed, it is the Secret of All Things.
Tao is the Root of All Things
It is the Treasure of All Things
It is the Door to the Infinite Mystery
The Secret of All Things
The Secret of Infinity
The Source of Infinity
The Eternal Virtue
The Mystery of Infinity
The Supreme Character
The Manifestation of Allness
This virtue that gives off the Tao
Is called the mystery and the mystery is the mystery.

It is the outward manifestation of an essence of deep mystery.
It is not the way of a man who acts with sincerity.
A man who acts with sincerity is not something he wants to see himself.
A man who acts with sincerity sees more clearly what he wants to see.
When both are without enough trust, they quarrel.
When they quarrel, they are both right.
To trust too much is to be deceived.
Trust enough is to be easily manipulated.
To believe that you know better than people is to have unrealistic expectations.
The truth is, there is something good and ominous in having faith in the Tao.
If you do not have faith in the Tao, you have no inner reason to trust anyone else.

The Tao is absolute beyond measure; unlimited and unattainable.
Yet through it all things are nurtured; it becomes the matrix of their existence.
Beauty and wit yield honor; strength and righteousness appear as wealth.
Victorious deeds earn honour and receive respect.
Thus, in the beginning the Tao was like the mother of heaven and earth.
And even the best among men have learned its secrets,
And became good at accepting Tao.
It is good for the leader to be there, to allow the Tao to grow, and stay at ease with Tao.
Because the Tao is as infinite as the universe,
It is universally helpful.
It is always present, seeking and receiving and offering Tao.
Therefore, the most esteemed men will honor the Tao, while the most humble can receive Tao.
Because the Tao is as deep as the source of all things,
All men can appreciate it.
It is a treasure that the world can't lose.
Welcome it with gratitude!

For thousands of years the Sage guarded the lives of men by Tao:
And through them the fruit of the earth was produced.
Yet the Sages were wise and powerful,
As though they had been nameless and unnamable.
They had a sweet touch of themselves, as though they had lost their self.
Tao will not call you back.
Since it cannot stay away, it must be at the left.
Because it is not time for returning, it is safe for the right side.
Thus the chief sages were wise:
They learned Tao's way,
They matured Tao's ways,
And came to be famous.
They were beautiful.
They were powerful.
They were good.
They were pure.
They were unruly.
Their humility was supreme.
People came to admire their strength,
Their profundity,
Their simplicity,
Their propriety.
They were sincere.
The wise were sincere.
The unprofound were sincere.
People learned to fear them,
And to love their simplicity.
But to love these pure simplicity of unselfish men is the heart's water.
"Now", they say, "it is true beauty" that men love,
But then they laugh and insult.
For they are feinted and showboated.

Being female, femalehood is regarded as the root of life.
The female nature is older than the male nature.
This means that the female nature is the mother of the male nature.
Therefore, virtuous people think of themselves as worthy of possessing the "precious" (flower of virtue).
Better ones think of themselves as worthy of possessing "sufficient" (preciousness) (virtue).
Unvirtuous people think of themselves as worthy of possessing "excessive" (excessive value) (virtue).
When they act, they do so without merit.
When virtuous people do something, they praise it.
When non-virtuous people do something, they praise it.
When they expect praise, they receive it.
Therefore, on the day of the female birth, It is not polite to show valuables,
It is not polite to show praises for actions,
It is not proper to praise actions without merit.
Therefore, when the emperor is seated, do not show valuables,
Do not show praises for actions,
Do not prize actions without merit.
Why do good and bad people alike want this one thing?
Because they can not be held.
Therefore: On the day when the country's emperor is installed, People should not wear jewels and gold to honor their emperor, Nor should they be present at the funeral parade, While there should be silence and stillness, Subsequently, those who have done good.

If I am lost, people will accept me;
If I am rejected, people will praise me.
Why is it that so many people are devoted to the DAO?
I do not need to do anything to receive it.
I have yet to learn to 'make' it.
Only now, after all, does the world know the DAO as great.
Why does the world know the DAO as great?
Because the DAO makes people learn.
Since learning is the root of wisdom,
The world accepts it with gratitude.
Since gratitude is the foundation of all goodness,
The world respects it with benevolence.
It is because the people are indifferent that the empire has survived.
Since, one can argue, the empire is made by many things,
People say, "I am as good as next to nothing,

Therefore, no matter how good we appear, they will see through us.

There is a sense of peace and serenity in the valley of Tao. Beneath the heavens, all things sense the connection to this vast and simple mystery.
Peace and serenity abounds, as there is deep calmness, and all have their needs satisfied.
Nothing is ever better than tranquility, peace, serenity, like resting in the peace of a vast and harmonious womb.

The Tao is a great river flowing from the source, the perfect Dao!
What we take for our living is a prisoner in our paradise.
What we give away is a burden we need to be filled.
If we believe in the Dao, we will feel safely in harmony with the infinite totality of creation.
Dao is the bright pearl of the multiverse, (It) is the protection and defense of every single one of its parts.
What we give it away is what must be given, and it is an obligation to meet it in the transformation of our own nature.
What we value is what must

Tao is a very thin cloth that can be cut, knotted and sewn. The material of Tao is called hus, gossamer and the solid and liquid parts are called ripples, briars, valleys, rivers, and the hollow and the deep, everything is going on inside of Tao.How things work is the same everywhere, there are different angles but they all get you there, Tao can be great or small, good or evil. The small may be valued; the big may be discarded. In the end the kingdom is great because it has enough to allow everyone to live in peace, yet is not full of substance. When everything is grasped you can never find the center.Tao is called "make all things with it," "follow everything with it," and "unravel everything with it." The true ruler is one that is found by none, finds her place by none, finds her basis by none. This is the wisdom of Tao.

Tao is like a thin rope, which is able to be twisted and twisted. The material of the Tao is like the motherfirmament. The substance is like the substance. The deep like the surface. The hollow like the base. The valley like the sky.Everything in the universe is in accordance with the motherfirmament. Therefore, all things are in accordance with the motherfirmament. Therefore, one may gain the whole world. Therefore, the great Tao is not given. One can have merits from which the world gains. The greatest virtue is not given. One may have merit from which the world has gain.Great sin is not given. One may have merit from which the world gains.Great system of teaching is not given. One may have merit from which the world is free. That is the quality of the great Tao.

In Tao is the clue to all things. The treasure of the world. Those who know it, are ever free. Those who lose it, then come right back. Therefore the sage gives the true life, and the people receive the true law.So it is that even rulers and citizens enjoy the rule. And so a great hall is built around the throne;but not as high as the Tao.Hence, it is worthy to hold it.

The constant of all beings, the treasury of the universe. The good man feels and dwells therein. The bad man returns to it.Therefore the Wise Man bestows eternal Life on All beings and purifies them.To live on a sparingly made living is to be devoid of true Life. And being deprived of true Life, life is inadequate. Therefore he bestows perpetual Life on the world and invites all of them to receive it.Having been invited to receive it, it can be regarded as glorious.Without being seen as glorious, he is an auspicious one.

Tao is constant in its parts, containing all things (natural) and then holding them.It protects and preserves them.If they need to be protected or preserved, there is only one that can do it -The Eternal Tao.Therefore the Wise Person longs for doing good for all of the creatures.Since the creatures need to be protected and preserved,He therefore gives them The Tao.The wise man is indifferent to his deeds, but he is loving to others and he enjoys his deeds.

The self described as Dao is eternal. It is eternal. It protects and brings to light. If it were not for it, nothing could. Therefore, it gladly embraces all things with love and thus achieves all its plans. While others regard it as luxuriant and overdoing it, we think of it as accidental. This is just because we do not see that. We don't do it because it is such a good idea.It is simply our self-centeredness.

The Self in which all things live. The Storehouse of the Universe. It is the person whom each of us identifies with. Those who do not identify with this person are excluded. Hence, the Wise Person values life and his life is precious. Those who do not value this person are therefore excluded. Hence,

Heaven is both heaven and earth. The treasure of heaven and earth, All things are all good, all things are all evil, Hence we know that if we desire to see Heaven, we must say we only seek the treasure of heaven, And if we desire to see earth, we must say we only desire to see the bad things. This is why it is said: The treasure of heaven and earth can be taken without getting lost, The faults can be reclaimed without getting rid of. He who understands this is well equipped to rule the world. To those of the old world and the present there is no charge that could be voiced against the ability of the lord of the world to accomplish this.

Heaven and earth are both great objects. Therefore, whoever wishes to perceive them and do not allow himself to be consumed by them, he will be able to attain to the true nature of heaven and earth. Whoever wishes to see and not to be consumed by it, he will be able to see the true nature of earth. To discard this by wishing to see, is like counting small things: counting the hundred pieces of jade, is to discard the true nature of the jade. If one wishes to discard this by wishing to see, he will never see it. In this way he would gain what he desired by using a mixture of rites. To realize that which is taken away through not wishing to see or desire is also called learning the method of passage. From this, the policy of a large host can be viewed. The sages may be carried in the grace of the great tao and the justice of the great mandala. It is these that the people call by name in their heart.

Heaven and Earth are one and separate. Knowing this, the ancients would not leave you without them. Thus, knowing they are one and separate, you can know the value of the other. If you discard the other, you can see the value of the one. So if you observe the value of the other, you can accept the value of the one. This, as it is said, is the way to know when one is able to know when you are not. The ancients said: Do not take things to make them treasure. You can take things to make them value. Know when one is different, you can accept the difference. This is called knowing when one is able to

They who rule Heaven with the Teh, are trusted by Heaven. Those who rule Earth with the Teh, are trusted by Earth. When everyone in the empire is fed by the Teh, There is no need to divide things. Therefore the way of the Tao is the left hand, and the world is the right hand. Therefore the one who knows the Tao is on the left and has the skill of the world. He abides with the Tao, yet in doing so abides in the Tao.No matter how the Tao is entrusted, there is no need to hoard it.As soon as the thing is lacking, everything is there.

To overlook it, to ignore it, is to have room to get rid of evil. For all things, the DAO stands above them. That is why some, including the Wise Ones, serve, others seek fulfillment, still others are enthralled by ambition, at the same time they understand how much of a disaster this could be.We see examples of how important it is that no one ever stands out, so that one can serve one's country and the world as best one can.

All Things can benefit from Tao (Urania System), and the Tao (The System) is a refuge for all Things, what is the profit of people? In this way (If) one can benefit others, one can rely on what he gains, as is said in the examples: One who does good by good talk, gets the praise. Whoever has ills, gets his back (up). Therefore the Principle is the root of all things, and the Dao the owner of the owner. The world having credit (that is positive), others are able to build the Dao (The System). When a great country is conquered and ruled by some (simple, humble man), The Dao (The System) becomes a refuge.

Tao (the System) for humans is (a) a conduit; (b) a barter for all things.
When Tao is employed, what is its effect?
It is a good disposition.
And if it is a good disposition, the beneficiaries will not reject it.
What is it that is at the bottom?
It is beneath them.
That is why the great men in their travels did not leave their dwellings.
They did not venture to accumulate wealth, but, ascending the Tao (the System), with perfect subtlety.
Why did they not stray from the ordinary path?
Because it is the root of all things.
(I) Therefore the TAO the TAO (the System) has nothing to do with that!
<|endoftext|>
A subtle expedient is employed by the Tao, and if it is employed, it results in gain, which does not come from fear. The truly needy value their benefactions by them. Should one want to be philanthropic, one must demonstrate what the merit is. Is it even the merit that is a demonstration of what merits? It is not by this that a person can benefit others. If one is benefactor, one is deemed bad, and so such an action will not be successful.
<|endoftext|>
It is only with Tao that an expensive good is not an expensive good. For what is profitable is the servant of what is not profitable,The good that is not good is the servant of what is good.If this be true, why do it take such an extravagance? There is nothing that is not extravagant.
