I hold that seeing is only the vision of dao and does not define the Dao.
<|endoftext|>
Knowing is the illusion of dao.Everything which exists is a form of dao.And inasmuch as there is nothing which exists without being a form of dao,Then the existence of dao is contained in nothing.Everything which exists without being a form of daoIs indeed one with dao.Therefore, if there were nothing which could be contained in dao,It would be a state of disquietude.Therefore, by employing the principle of non-existence,All things can be contained within one.Thus, the ancient Tao embraces everything and thereby gives birth to everything,Wherein all things arise and there is nothing to be perplexed.By employing the principle of nothing,All things can be made up and thereby giving birth to everything.Wherein all things arise and there is nothing to be perplexed.By employing the principle of vastness,There are infinite range of things and thereby giving birth to everything.Wherein all things arise and there is nothing to be perplexed.From the non-existence of existence comes a non-existence of nothing.That is called the most profound depth.And that is the heart of the universe.The early beginning of Tao gave birth to everything.So without the Tao, there would be no beginning.
<|endoftext|>
The seeing only represents the appearance of the Tao.
Because the Tao is elusive, everything appears.
Things are born, they die, and so forth.
As a thing grows old, it must die.
Therefore, by not being able to abide by what you perceive,
all things can be endured to the end.
Therefore, be insistent on the application of what appears.
Hold on to the substance of what you see.
Hold on to the sound of what you hear.
That is the essence of the Tao:
Applying it, all things can be endured to the end.
That is why it is so profound.
This is the root of all that we know.
<|endoftext|>
Seeing is the mere appearance, and it is nothing else but the appearance
You see only the background beneath the surface, and
it is the same as you
You see only the surface, and it is nothing but the essence,
you see what you see and you cannot forget

It is said of the ruler:
He is impartial in his nature.
He can be impartial and still.
He can be static and unresponsive.
He can be indifferent and never acknowledge the merit of the people.
He can be indifferent and the people do not feel selfishly, when the obligation is on earth.
He is impartial and so conducts the affairs of government.
His people are kind and live by faith in the ruler.
His people are charitable and make a place for the ruler.
He is impartial in his dealings with others.
He is impartial in his dealings with heaven.
He does not treat what is human as life-giving.
When he does treat it as life-giving, nothing is on earth which is not just and unavoidable.
It is said of the benevolence of the ruler:
He pays little regard for his self.
He is clever and calculates with great skill.
He is wise and has not the least error of mind.
He is generous and then acts generously on Earth.
He is generous and then is not selfish.
He is generous and then is not elitist.
He is generous and then it is true that he is one with heaven.
He is generous and then it is true that he can be trusted long.
It is said of the intelligence of the ruler:
He can act with great mastery.
He is so far removed from life that he can experience every detail of things.
He is so far removed that he can see the soft and the sharp, the fertile and the barren, the uncarved and the carved.
He is so far removed from the world that he can see all of it.
And he is so far removed from his own life that he can be moved and form a new life.
It is said of his being strong and free:
This is the source from which he is strong and free.
He is so far removed from time that he has time to anticipate and work in.
He is so far removed from earth that he is free from the world and everything is a part of him.
He is so far removed from his own core that he can become the way of the world.
It is said that in government he is always at the left, and as the universal center.
His faith is profound and his insight infinite.
He has great knowledge and so he doesn't need to learn from

What is the natural state of human beings?The ordinary man is their basic ancestor.Their highliness should be thought of as if it were something unprofitable.Wherever man is in need, there is some private welfare center in the community.But if man does nothing for himself, the world will benefit.If you think of things as benefiting nobody, you can control them.This is called the principle of "not-being." If you don't know the principle of "not-being," you can't know what to do. If you know the principle of "not-being," then you can be directed by the Tao (the Laws of the Universe) in accordance with your natural state.
Tao is what is there.
Because it is Tao, we cannot tamper with it.
Whoever thinks he can't is a fool, a fool who makes a fool of himself.
Tao is great, and therefore small.
To know this means to be real;
To know this means to be know.
To know the unknowable is what makes you wise;
To know the knowable is what makes you kingly.
To know the kin is to be wise;
To know the kingly is to be leo-of men.
Knowing leo-of men is to be the eternal.
Therefore, the wise man is the embryo of the Way,
and the root of Tao (the Laws of the Universe).
Those who attain the highest level of intellectual attainment
But are also also natural men
are called "inferior."
While they are inferior, they have the family.
But when they have achieved the family
And are also "greater"
But still "inferior,"
they are known as "superior."
Understanding that which is superior means to be in accord with the universe,
So being in accord with the universe is to be truly immortal.
The universal mind is the root of the soul.
Without an understanding of the soul, the awareness of its roots is not complete.
This is why the wise man is also an eternal spirit;
The root of Tao (the Laws of the Universe) is the mother,
The mother is also the thing of Tao.
This is how the Tao is called great, and is not inferior;
And in this is the meaning of the eternal.
Tao is eternal,
but it is also the root of all things.
Therefore the

By putting up walls and gates.
It is from chaos that we get our order
When tranquillity is maintained by the back and forth
Between laughter and tears.
When the house is empty
When the butcher is out of place,
Is there anything that will keep the loyal ruler from coming
back again to his beloved?
Not seeking his beloved's comforts,
He never goes hungry and ill,
And his person is not polluted.
Not turning against the Empire
Forts and walls are not fit to safeguard

Those who see the Tao are able to understand the Way; Those who are skilled in Tao are able to practice it. Only when you are not aware of the other can you see the Tao's essence. When you are aware of the other, the Tao reveals itself. It is possible for each of us to live a joyful, simple life and be loved. But the clearest manifestation of the Tao is in the life of the Tao. The truly successful will choose the Way, because they have no choice. They are consistent with the Way. The truly successful are able to appear so, for the Way is nothing without depth and space. It is the home of true vision, which lasts a long time.

It is best to have the reputation of the honorable, then more favor is likely; but at the same time it is best to serve as the instrument of old and is best to embrace the universe, which you have no part of. To embrace the universe requires giving up personal ambitions, and accepting things as they are. Things do not last forever, and if you do not preserve them, the things themselves are likely to fail. With that doctrine there is no more talk about what you think or what you see.
When you are willing to share a truth with the world, you are serving the Truth. When you are willing to collaborate with the leaders of the world, you are serving the Universe. And when you are willing to observe the cycle of life at all times, you are serving your self-interests.

When the highest heaven knows that what is is true and sees nothing hidden, it returns to its essential simplicity, so by what simplicity it gives form to all. Who is a model for the whole world can see what is true. All that the heavenly Father knows is found by following his simplicity. That simplicity produces that which is common to all.

I'm not sure how much I can grow up too soon, but I'll give you an example: at the beginning, I became blunt and simple. Being blunt and simple means people have to love and care for you. Being caring for people means you can be honest and honest means you're safe. Being safe means no one can hurt you. When people can't hurt you, you won't be selfish. When you have enough wealth to be able to make a lot of decisions, you can act without any arrogance or ambition. When you do have enough confidence to be able to act without the slightest fear, the other side can't hurt you. If you don't have any fear, you can be Tao-like. If you're Tao-like, nobody will harm you. If you're Tao-like, you can trust people. If you can trust people, you can be trusted. If you can be trusted, you can be given power. If you can be given power, you can be passed. If you can be passed, you can die. If you're passed, you die and then don't worry. When the ruler does it, the people say, "Hallelujah! It's just a passing phase!" No, it isn't. If you play the part of a Commander, you learn to play it safe. If you're at the center of things, the government can govern safely.

Superior virtue is considered best only if you give little. So, "The initiation of youngsters is rarely complete, but it takes a long time to grow into an elder."
Precedence doesn't mean the end.
And indeed, since one doesn't do what one expects, one is cautious, too. Because one doesn't do what one expects, one can be enlightened.
Because one is enlightened, there is no shame, no blame. Since everyone can be enlightened, no one is left.
Therefore, it's not up to you to care for anyone's soul, but to be a good mother to them. If you care for everyone's soul, no one will be left behind. This is being a mother to others, and the highest virtue.

The highest virtue is humane, but it is restrained. How much the next best is

Being a good leader is like giving birth to a newborn baby: You never know when it will be ready to make it's first farthest fartleth.If you don't expect that it'll take a long time before it can walk again,If you don't give it orders that it must follow or be master or guide -it will be easy to get tangled up in it.Better for one to tell his son how to lead. For a leader who will give himself to the people, they won't blame him for being stubborn, or for losing his way.For a man who is steadfast, if his leader is strayed, he'll have no cause for resentment. For a leader who stays true, you cannot lose your base. For a leader who stays true, if people lose trust in him, if he fails to ensure their end, no one will dare to throw him out. If you are so desirous to control and rule people, you'll take possession of the whole world. If you're desirous of remaining a man, you will leave them all out. For the good life, make the beginning the foremost.Now if the leader knows that what he does can't be improved upon and that he's best preserved by being a fish in water,He doesn't need to begin by improving upon himself.On the contrary: In taking control over a community, he also serves a functionHe serves to insure the continuity of the Tao.

The beginning is the flower of all things.If you give the beginning a place,It will never be pared back.If you preside over the people,You will never lose sight of what you have to do.If you follow your principles,You will never fail to succeed.If you care for all things,You will never leave behind your children.Everything is a flower for one who recognizes the flowers.He lets go of all other interestsAnd lives in peace.The nature of a person who embraces TaoCan never be improved upon.Those who improve upon the nature of a personCan never be helped off the path.Those who can't be helped off the pathAre afraid of the unknown.Things can't be improved uponAnd the Tao must be kept.This is why the essence of Tao can be seen.In this way the Tao can endureFor all time, forever.The Tao is always presentIn everything.Tao transcends all things.

When a prince is entrusted with the management of the state, one cannot but observe the gradual manifestations of its nature. The change, the emergence, the vacancy of the student of nature, is a formal sign of the imperceptible steps that are made by Nature, a formal statement of the role which the governess should assume when she guides people. When the governess is sincere in taking care of the state and the government cannot but be successful in running a state, no one should think it superfluous to observe the gradual changes in Nature. These subtle changes are, in the true sense, a mark of the nature of Nature.

While the empire was contracting and the lord began his administration,
he would act from his nature and not act on his own account. He would achieve his goals, but he would not give up.
The prince visited ancient times when all existed in peace,
he travelled in the valleys,
the sea, and the hills and stayed long.
He wore himself down, wearied, but not worn out.
He lacked intent and made use of his allotted time.
He had a belief in the people, but had no more expectation. He was clear in his judgments and reasoned his way out.
The emperor, who is the same as the empire,
has been praised from the moment he took the government in hand.
The empire moves with a return and no one knows what will happen.
It takes many forms and growth, yet does not waste anything. This was an important principle for the empire:

If the empire were to decline, the lead one might just as well

The emperor, when in possession,

The king, when in possession,

If it were to continue without renewal,
it could not be impartial.
Nature uses those who act as models

The ancient master abstains from food. He knows what nourishes him and what nourishes no one. Therefore, no hunger ever robs him.
The student of the ancient master takes nourishment lightly. He knows what nourishes him and nothing he does not. Thus, no hunger ever spoils him.
The ancient master believed in acting lightly as an example to his students. He knew what nourishes him, and not what he does not. Thus, he acted lightly, but never stopped.

When the masters take a restful pace with the people, they do not insist on life and death. No one dies and the master gives food and drink to those in a simple state.
The people take little food and drink and the master does not deny them.
In [his understanding of] long life he thinks only of longevity.
<|endoftext|>
When the great men [periods] had walked humbly, and little together, No one among the people dies; And the master makes no ado, That everyone's belly becomes full. In so doing, he knows how to keep them well nourished; And he lays down no commands. For he knows how long life lasts; And he lets it rest.
<|endoftext|>
These aeons he told not of how: But when it was found that the people walk not self-deceivingly But walk rather lowlyly, that there were them there whom he nourished He gave them neither provision nor care; and he let them thus die.
Thus, he knew how to keep to his skill, so that he was eternal.

The world is without beginning, without end, without boundaries. The person of the Sage has the space to hold; he has the strength to accept things, he has the stamina to endure. If he holds, he is sufficent. If he accepts, he can be depended upon. He is sufficent in his heart, his soul, and his body. If he is dependent, the world can depend on him. It's not talkative
so why must it be so dull?
It's quite simple, so why isn't it explicable?
Why can't we understand Tao?
How can we never lose sight of the Tao?

They do not want to be ordered by anyone.They do not want to follow any kind of law.They only want to be their own self.This is "subtle virtue".Therefore, the deep roots of life and the firm stalk of the stem are a way to lead one to the way.For if the ruler of people does not rely on the external rule, she will not be ruled by what people desire.Even if, under her rule, one does not interfere too much, she will never have to prove herself in the end.All things will depend on her for their beginning, and so will she be of the source of the beginning.That is why the deep roots are called "the frail beginning" and the firm "the resounding base".

Nature's way gives birth to all.
While the way of people is only different in name
it contains in its essence the same movement that carries the whole world.
Therefore:
To value heaven over men is not to oppose the Way, and this is what makes the difference.
When heaven and people are properly regarded, they each will be placed on equal footing;
While to value nature over people is not to oppose the Way, and this is what makes the difference.
Since people and heaven were created for the same reason,
And since they are not on equal footing,
I look for equality in that between them.
Having found it, I take up arms to defend it, and this is what is called "attempted disloyalty".
Such a thing is not in harmony with Tao, and its absence is its primeval formation.
Its emergence is the foreshadow of decay.
Being still is that which is sacred; Being active is that which is fruitful; Being enduring is that which is lasting.
There is no thing in the universe which can withstand that which is sacred.

It is not this one that causes their common name; it is their effect that is common.
Therefore, the humble and the lowly call themselves humble; the lowly and exalted call themselves high.
High, therefore, is attributed to the position of the humble, high is attributed to the position of the exalted.
Thus, when it comes to the issue of their claims, the lords of heaven resemble those of the realm in having their subjects take it upon themselves to perform humble service and to refuse to lay claim to the glory of their superiority.
Thus, this is an attempt to get things to have their dainties upon a basis of partialality, rather than of being perfect dainties.

When the Sage looks at it, it is like this: The one who has most ability, has not any. The one who has no talents, is worthy. The one who has no desire, is a complete man. The one who is insatiable, has the potential for longevity. This perfection depends on his people. Because he values his people's intuition, he can greatly get his work done. However, in government, his motives depend on his sense of morality. He gives his people what they need and govern them with compassion. With intelligence, he can make the right decision. A man of such confidence, a leader, is someone who is real.

The sage is impartial towards Tao.
The brightest one is not impartial.
The strongest is not strong.
The richest is not rich.
The most sincere is not sincere.
The enlightened are the clearest.
One who knows this does not depend on this.
The parts of a country are ruled by this.
He manages them through the way of Tao.
If a leader shows the Way, the people would know the way.
The wise government is:
That is impartial towards the truth.
That is impartial towards the people.
That is impartial towards the earth.
That is impartial towards the states.
That is impartial towards the heavens.

Be humble, and the world will turn to you.Lead from obscurity and all will come to you.One who is able to abide in the world is not without support.Being a leader does not require money, but is useful to all. When any group has unity, there is great unity. When nations arise the ability to succeed lies with the leader. Being able to stand out in the world is a natural process.Therefore the Wise Person, as a leader, has no need of luxuries.He lives in the simplicity of life. He is a good steward for his people.He is good at keeping an orderly house.Hence he fulfills his duty as the leader, as a leader of men.It is to be appreciated by the people and are very good at disciplining them.Hence he is able to keep his position in the world.

How do I know that these are the functions of honour and stupidity? I can see how they compare to the Way. When the Tao is lost, the noble ones go back to it, if they don't follow it, they're likely to go on the way of folly.When kings are in power, they tend to become arrogant and arrogant. He may therefore gain power without war;
he may then become supreme by using the noblest methods;
he may, therefore, use the subtlety and the peace to get the benefits of the world.
But the chief virtue of such a man is humility.
Humble is to follow the gentle force of nature.
Humble is to embody the simpleton principle.
Humble is to be a fit thing for the world, because of the simplicity of the family principles.

to reach on that which is infinite as it is yet infinite.
all that can be described is its existence
in that it has been born of heaven
and does so without failure
so it is that entity itself

as well as the development of all under heaven
and so may far surpass them all.
this is the root of the capacity to endure

That which makes the general good is this: It does not take things too seriously. It does not take those as precious as precious, making them precious. This makes people love them, cherish them. That which makes the general good is to submit to heaven. In submission to heaven comes to a high degree of ease. That which makes the general good is to keep the ten thousand things in common. To keep the ten thousand things in common makes people happy. That which makes the general good is to dispense kindness. Disproportionately kindness serves as encouragement. Disproportionately kindness serves as proof. With the latter, to overcome everything you have reached. To overcome everything you have reached, to become a sovereign. The wise ruler keeps a constant self-sufficiency and does not fear to take risks; he is always saving things for the future. He protects them with gifts of charity and in the greatest abundance, yet he neither hoard goods nor use them to gain gain. If he can avoid getting credit, he might be forgiven. Without recognition of his greatness, he could therefore be esteemed as the chief magistrate of the nation.If he be without an ego, his own strength will remain and he may take possession of the empire.

He can be the lord of all under heaven
By acting on the foundation of his being and not discarding it.
Acting on the foundation, he will never be disrespected.
He is one with the sacred earth,
Through unity with God.
By relying on the power of the earth and not on the self,
His power will survive.

When the wise ruler puts himself last and turns to self,
All will benefit.
The king who ensures self-sufficiency will govern well.
He may be proud when he owns.
He may be disrespected when he keeps things for himself.

If his renown lasts, his efforts will be successful.

There are two kinds of people: those who give generously and those who do not.One who gives is attached to his parents and wants to be reborn.One who does not give is attached to Heaven and wants to depart.One who is attached to Heaven and wants to depart is greatly indebted to the Mother.The creditor has no more loyalty than the debtor.The more his loyalty is tied to the debts, the more he has no free choice but to submit himself to the laws.For this reason, the Sage feels the root in the root, and is so good that he comes to the root of a tree and not its trunk.It's very easy for him to return to his roots.What's so good in him is that he travels through long distances, but no one knows where he is going.If he's not long-living, he becomes a Ruler of the world. When a Ruler of the world is at peace, this is what is called the Fountainhead.So, if he's successful in establishing a firm foundation, his fame is likely to grow for ever.If he's successful in building things up, and he lives in harmony with nature, he has a bright future.

It is good to be generous but not wantonly so that you can get credit for it. It is good to be generous but do not dare to be aggressive so that you can make sure of a debt for it. You will get nothing without doing his utmost.Therefore, the sage takes root in what is good and does not till he reaches the root. So one makes a show of being tall, and only shows the ground. By not having to accomplish anything, he accomplishes his goal. And since he does not have to accomplish anything, he will long endure. And because he lives long, he does not lose his power. Such deeds are honorable, and so worthy of adoration. How do we know they are worthy of adoration? By how we know their valor. And how do we know that valor is infinite? Because they always beget them, and therefore never beget them again. Therefore, as we may value an unspeakable on account of its valor, so we ought to value an inexpressible on account of its valor. One may treat an unattainable on account of its valor, so he ought to treat an incomparable on account of its valor. One may be aloof and proud in consequence of its valor, and so long endure on account of its valor. This is called the continuous perpetuation of virtue, and it is called: the very seed of the state. To conceive the state as its kernel is called the origin of long-lasting and solid roots. In the depths of deep roots we may find the hidden virtue, and so such comprehension cannot be underestimated.
<|endoftext|>
Any truth-seeking action can be conceived of as honorable. How can we know this? It's because we can perceive it, and it is the same for its valor. Honor is truly infinite. Intuition provides the knowledge of valor's abode. Accomplishing a task can be thought of as valor's foundation. Valor grows from the foundation, and comes to fruition. There's no end to its movement, because there is always more to grow. There is depth, depth, and the bottom. There is the place of saviors, and where there is saviors there is an endless supply of the everlasting consumable. [This is] the truth of the deep. Only deep can provide the knowledge of initiation. To become part of the deep, indeed, is the way to know initiation.

To know a thing is to know what it has in its mouth. To know what it has in its body is to know its power. To know what it has in its head is to know its being. He who strides

He who walks on the right
Does not walk on the left.
Who follows this teaching of the Tao
Will attain but the very essence of yielding.
Foresight is required to measure
The root of the earth and heaven.
This is what is called hard to measure.
Hard to measure

When we wait for this
Heaven and earth will come
Tending to each other with unwearying kindness.

A man who gains merit is as good as he is capable of becoming for a leader, a scholar who knows the way, is as good as an instructor, and the like. If you are good as you are able, you can be just as good as you are able. If you are just as well, you can overcome all else. If you can overcome all else, then you will not seek to be supreme over others. The supreme ruler does not try to be superior. He does not try to be lord. He does not try to be rich. He does not try to be strong. He is impeccable. He will endure for eons. By being impeccable and preserved, he lives long and may meet the end with no harm.

A man of merit never merits a single thing.
A gentleman never excels a nobleman.
A sage never has mastery.
A masterless person cannot be deluded by those of inferior ability.
These are (natural) consequences of not possessing merit
and therefore meritlessness can be taken care of.
A man of merit can be a great superior, a great teacher,

He will not be held in low esteem if he is a selfless ruler,

To possess merit is to be without merit.
To be without merit is to have merit.
There is nothing that can be masterful over a man without losing his true Self.
To master over him without losing his true Self is to be auspicious.
To be auspicious is to be of long lasting repute.
To be of long lasting repute is to be like heaven.
He who knows his base self is able to see heaven.
He who knows the sacred state is able to take part in the state.
He who takes part in the state is of long lasting repute.

If there were a man of God who never lost touch with Tao (that is, being genuine and honoring all things), Heaven could not last long. Without Tao, there could be no space between heaven and earth. Without space, heaven and earth could not become one. Without a constant center, heaven and earth could not mature to being deep and enduring. Without a constant host of things, heaven and earth could not grow and flourish. Without a stable base for the people, the government could not make a lasting mark. Without a stable base for the nation, the empire can't be long lasting. With a firm foundation, a leader can grow and lead. This is called to cling and not to lose.
With the Tao we're drawn to places of fear. We try to rule through fear. Without the Tao, the people fear. Without the people, the Tao falls apart. Without a fear of the people, a leader has no need to fear. Without a fear of the people, a leader has no need to fear.
With no fear, we can be fearless.
Doubting is weakness. Yes: It's time to go back. Yes: Turn back again. Yes: Lose no time. Yes: Turn again. Yes: Lose nothing. Yes: Be one with the Tao.

It is fit to be nurtured by parents, but has no need of paternal guidance.Since its heart is contented, and heart is not distraught,It will never fear its neighbors.This is the eternal Te.Everything that happens around you was all unplanned. Everything that happens has its cause. You cannot blame anyone, therefore you have no need to be in pain. If you do not have no trouble, why should you fear what will come after?If you can see all your fellows on every side and follow their path, they will love you too. This is how deep rooted love is rooted in the Spirit of Nature.If you develop it, you will gain the Earth. From the Earth arise great Laws and Dao; from Dao arise the 10000 Laws of Nature. Is not emptiness the governing principle of the Dao?
Does not emptiness keep the lifeblood of Dao?
The Dao follows emptiness, and yet it can never be exhausted.
Thus it is that the empty one is called 'The One who is weak.'
And the one who is strong, like Dao itself.
To know this is called the profound,
Respectful in all; in life's midst as the earth and the sky.
This is called Tao's dao-submission to lasting use.

To rule humanity is to know the inferiority of earthly beings. To live in the presence of the eternal is to accept the difference. The divine consciousness is first, yet to know its reality is the beginning of the lesson. The depth of wisdom, the destiny of simplicity, and the strength to fulfill the law of nature, are attributed to the subtle universal mother. The subtle universal mother is a source from which all beings emerge, provide and reinforce life. To embody the origin of life is to know the unchanging. The simple mind is shaped by the grandest knowledge.

Governing the Empire is about being lowly. Being lowly leads to concentrating.The emptiness of Tao is power to the ruler.The Tao in the hands of a man is too weak to be effective.He has too much of it in his hands, and will never be able to control it.He has power, but also too much of it, and will not control it.The power is powerful, and can be used, but it is always flawed and inevitably fails.The belief in the Tao is powerful, because of it the leader has strength, but also because of it the leader has the determination to keep his faith.He has the faith in the Tao, and the trust of his people, is only strengthening.This is called natural disposition. It is the root and home of the wise.

Formal attainment in the Tao is a very rare occurrence; there are rare people that get it. Among the people who get it, there is a handful; among the things that get it, there is a lot. And those who are slow to learn will then by their gradual learning, gradually reduce to their lowliest nature, by this too will come the mastery of the world. In keeping the people (like kings, judges and ministers of the state) does this wise man apply the principle of seeing things as they are, not as things which have their existence. In so doing, he does not oppress the natural process of life.

Those who would achieve great miracles will learn humility by keeping their mind restless. When a man of high cultivation does not exert himself, he finds fullness, when a man of low cultivation does not beget then, then he finds absence.All that has is present: emptiness, goodness, abundance; the mean in excess, without. The man of the highest Te is virtuous, then returns to sordidness and pride; the man of the lowest Te is true, then returns to serene restraint. This is called the inferior path, and it is all the more honoured in the latter. So good men do not take hold of it, and as much as it they lose in pursuit of self-righteousness, it is lost in self-righteousness. There is no limit to their own person and power. THE DEITY is the immortal Mother.To realize its full potential, the ten thousand things have to follow it.Without feeling for the physical body, it remains pure and pure, and receives all things without disfavour.To perceive as the Mother is to master all beings.If only a man was to treat the world as his Mother, he would be able to enter the Secret Kingdom.If only a man were to master the Secret Kingdom, he would be able to comprehend it.If only a man were to comprehend it, he would be able to concentrate it.If only a man were to concentrate it, he would be able to expand.If only a man were to expand, he would be able to become universal.If a man were to become universal, he would be able to gain the destiny of Heaven.If a man were to gain the destiny of Heaven, he would be able to live long.This is to be true deep-seated spirituality.

The spirit of the universe can be compared to your own intuition.It may be considered intelligent, it can also be quite sensitive.Humans and nature came about by a joint action.Everything was created by someone and they want to protect it.Living in harmony with the universe and with each other, we can clearly see that the ancient perspective of the creator became nothing. The creation is still happening, and there are no limits for it.People of the world think of things as simple and simple, but there are more and more subtleties in them.The ocean of experience is not like the ocean of perception.People think about their experience as important.It is just the process of their reality.We should be aware of our nature and not try to justify our nature.We should be aware of the experience and be aware of the next step in our evolution.In order to expand we need more than a lot of water.We have to be able to get the nourishment from the Earth, but there is still enough to keep us alive.When we create value and value attracts more value and we become more successful.Therefore, one must help those that have all the nourishment to strengthen them.In order to get more nourishment, we must develop our intuition.If we are not intuitive, then we become superficial and naive.Influenced by the real, we will see the world differently.It is the most wise way to grow and grow and then stop.

Forget learning, and the Master will take care of you.
It is not enough to learn how to govern others, you will have to learn to stay.
He who stays to the end
Has no motive to act,
Only wishes to get rid of this and is not willing to lose it.
He is forced to act, and knows it is an unforced error.
To act against the Tao is to blow it up.
To blow up is to lose everything.
You are no longer a God,
You are merely a follower of the Earth.
Only through being fulfilled as a follower of the Earth
Will you stay with the work and the Tao of Heaven.
The Way of Heaven is very deep and will last a long time.

To be adept is not learning. One who has learned is no longer able to do what the instructor teaches, and yet he is still able to govern others. Thus he who rules with wisdom shows himself worthy of the honour of the elders. One who rules with wisdom is unfit to govern others. He who rules with the Earth shows himself unworthy to govern others. He who rules by Earth is unfit to govern others. He who rules by wisdom is unfit to govern others. He who rules with the mother is unfit to govern. He who knows how to endure for long is a sage.

Lost is what one needs not to be lost in learning. To know the world is not knowledge. To know the world, one has learned to be master over the world.
To be master of the world is to control everything, and the entire world exists in selfless servitude. To master the whole world is to be at one with the Infinite.
To be at one with the Infinite is to reach the Super-Earth. To reach the Super-Earth is to have a super-righteous virtue. To have a superrighteous virtue is to overcome everything. To overcome everything is to reach the Invisible Ruler.
To reach the Invisible Ruler is to have the mother. To have the mother is to be immortal.

These three instruments, All of them are in use, they help people. Yet, it does not matter which is used. The good is in the one and the bad in the other. When people are just, no one is scared; When people become fearful, no one is afraid. When people know that they are safe, they forget they are afraid. When people value something, they destroy it. When people do things lightly, they destroy things. When people act selfishly, they destroy selves. When people practice forbearance and filial piety, they will become leavened. When people seek guidance and the way of heaven, nothing is left to them. The true Way, the eternal, all-pervading, even though its form appears small and small, is really a treasure. If one is good at keeping his word, he will not stray from the Way.

The musical instruments are everywhere, but the people do not use them. The best music is that of the valleys. It is subtle and lasting.It would be better to pay less attention to worldly matters.It is better to trust what is in the heart, and remember what is in the eyes.It is better to love your neighbors, and remember their love. It is better to be simple, and be all-embracing. It is better to strive hard, and be genuine.It is better to be resolute, and be strong.If you are good at keeping your word, no one will steal from you.The one who has awakened will not lose his way.The way of the Dao is to have a deep understanding of it's essence.A man who knows the subtle essence of the Tao can be thought of as being without image, without image.He can be with those without name.He can be with those who know his heart.He can be with those who know his heart's way.He can be with those who have no mind.He can be with those who know the truth.And with the Tao will return.To know the eternal essence of the Tao, you will never doubt, and to love the other person, you will never despise.

Know how to yield people favor, when you can (not deny) them. Know how to give to men what they need, when you can (not deny) them not. These two are equal, and these two can be used (to gain) each other; but even they cannot be used (as in this way) till they yield (to them); so they gain (it) to the end (to yield) by only doing (them). (This is) how they become the (dual) complement of (the natural) principle of the things, while holding fast to it (in its perfection). Therefore, to attain the (natural) principle of things, no-one, who has not an ear in his (and the chief people's) house, is able to stumble over (to the depth of his (and the people's) learning and experience. Thus the chief men shall rejoice over things and draw great profit from them, and shall hold to this (successive) way of life and not to that of that (that which is without). For one whose learning is (not thus) cleared up, he perishes. The wise one and more enjoys his desire to be without knowing: he is therefore preserved in the Deep of Heaven (as a jewel).

What is in outer space, is not to be approached. What is at home in the home is not to be approached. What is without place, is not to be despised. The myriad beings abide by nothing and remain in full harmony. From the very beginning of creation, all things remain without separation from each other. All beings act according to what they are. And from the very beginning of creation, every living thing follows its own natural path. Every living thing is endlessly adaptable to meet their needs, and wants, and a multitude of other situations. This is called yielding. When we come to know the way things are, and how things came to be, we can comprehend that nature cannot be reversed. And it is because of this that we know how to benefit people and serve the world.

To be an elder is as disgraceful as to be a babe in the world, and a woman of low character to be the mother of Heaven. To delight in earthly pleasures, so as to feed oneself on raw-seeded fruit, can lead you to ignorance. In ignorance, one cannot control the six-spoked wheel. The six-spoke wheel can be brought to its full strength by affording satisfaction to all. Satisfaction can be given to the six-spoked wheel by indulging in their innermost goodness; and so it is that, when there is enough inner goodness, it may be made complete. And when complete, and thus the people can be made useful, there is no one who can block or threaten them. There is nothing taboo that cannot be denied. If there is no one who cannot be denied, the people will be assured of security. The highest position can be earned by one who has lived long. He also did not do any harm, and when he had acted completely, he said nothing. But he who never acted was not the Sage.
The sage, when he found himself in the state, did not dwell on what he had received. He looked with impartial regard upon all things, and neither cursed nor despised anyone. If he acted for his own ends, he could not do what he ought to.
If there was any danger to him, he would make no attempt to detain him. When he had settled himself in the Principle, he never set himself aimless.

Sage is deep and sublime, though he is quite human and is perceived to be inferior by others.Therefore he has all he needs, yet he is beyond ordinary.Hence he is fully beyond human understanding.One who is beyond ordinary does not look like a Sage.One who looks like a Sage is not at all a sage.One who is not a sage looks like a fool.One who is not a fool is truly clever.One who is clever has traits that are not easily understood.One who is easily understood does not need to be enlightened.One who is not enlightened has ability that can be used by others.One who is active and powerful is able to help people to make progress,and that is called virtue.To know the True Virtue is to benefit people and improve their ability to act.To know the true nature of the Tao is to understand the eternal secret of life and the evolution of all things.

The Master is a body, but he never regards himself as such. He has all the functions of a body, though he cannot see them. If he were able to see them, he would say he is no longer a body. He possesses them in his immemorial life, but he is infinitely without them. If one were to seek to possess them, one would desist. The master of the body has many vital functions. Though he does not seem to have them, his love is infinite. Without love, what is seen is not sufficient; without gratitude, what is merited is not sufficient. Without ability, what is produced is not sufficient; without significance, what is passed on is not sufficient. The natural, a person of the Tao is always skilful in knowing. If one does not understand it, one can never learn. The Tao of the masters is exactly the same as the Tao of the Sage: it is both understanding and use of power.

He who is wise is one who seems to have little wisdom, and yet he is therefore superior to other people.
If he could only see all the parts

Heavenly Monks follow on the way of Tao, but always keep the soft rules of earth and get clear vision of people.They are one with the DAO but the soft, natural way.When the DAO is at its best, every person is in love.When love is out of control, things can go wrong.Things take different forms when one is happy. When one is happy, there is plenty of vitality and peace.When there is plenty of vitality and peace, there is nothing that cannot be filled. When nothing can be filled, there is plenty of energy. When there is plenty of energy, there is plenty of space. When there is plenty of space, then the leaders will rule.When there is plenty of space and energy, there will be peace and happiness.

When teachers of Heaven and Earth seek the Tao, they contrive to show it through their example.
When they can not show it, they use the principle of the Tao.
When they have perfect perfection, they arise to renew the world.
When they renew the world, they don't possess the people which can then be improved.
When the people are not improved,
There is a confusion of good and evil which lead to the downfall of the state.
When one's conscience is cleared of evil, he has everything to depend on.
When one's conscience is clear of bad, he has plenty of faith and credit.
When faith and credit are enough, then no trouble can hinder the manifestation of the DAO.
When the DAO manifests itself, everyone will take benefit of it.
When the DAO does not take advantage,
Then those who act have plenty of means to meet the various calamities.
When there are enough means to meet calamities,
The empire will be able to continue through its spiritual strength.
When the spiritual strength of the empire is sufficient, then all the affairs of the empire will lead to an end.
<|endoftext|>
If the Principle of Heaven and Earth is so good, how is it that others can be so bad?
How is it that their minds are so confused?
How is it that so many should be so wrong?
The truly good set the example for all.
Where the good is, cleverness is at work.
When cleverness is done, people become tolerant.
When tolerance is met with grief, lack of trust will start.

Thou hast attained the Way,And rule the ten thousand things.The Ten Thousand Things are duly governed by thee;If thou wilt not be in the Way,They will be obliged to resort to another and better.Thus the ancient Commentary:Yes, the great and broad;Yes, the sufficient-whole;Yes, the enough-rule;Yes, the fine-being;Yes, the surer-than-young;Yes, the mastery of Heaven.For what is the mastery of Heaven?He who has completed the Dao.
<|endoftext|>
When your mind is able to rule everything with clarity, the world can become harmonious. At that point, nothing exists in the world that cannot be master.That is the old definition: All being depends on the One. The One is great. Therefore it is able to rule the whole world. In everything else, things are bound by desire and conflict. The master is always present and able to take action. That is the reason: the mastery of the world is a natural process. The master is able to find their place in the world, according to their attributes. The master is always present in order to lead. That is why the master takes action with a deep penetration. The Master is a self-contained being, at the center. The self-contained being takes precedence over all other things. That is how they are able to take precedence in the world. Those who can master all exist in the heart of the universe. That is why they are able to rule the world and lead the world. The wise use the deep roots and retain the principles, to act in the process and preserve all. This is called the form of being, and the foundation of the ultimate nature. The way of practice is learned through the process of the mind, and is very important.
<|endoftext|>
When the mind's cleverness is perfect, all things are orderly. When the mind cannot control the things and force them to conform to its wishes, it easily becomes a tool to rule the world. The ancient Te says:
All being depends on the Principle.
The Principle is great.
Therefore it can dominate the world.
In everything it binds, it knows best.
In everything it knows best it bests it, so that it masters the whole.
That is how the master knows how to rule the world.
That is how the world

For the Te has shaped all that we see,
But never the shape can we claim;
Its sharp edge is strong,
And can cut.
When we sense its direction,
It never slips away;
But, it may make its way,
And though it may be hidden,
It will return.
That it lies with the center,
We can see how it arises out of the outer;
It is deep; it is solid,
It flows without obstruction;
It caves without tampering;
It holds, and can endure;
It is clear.
Thus, all the te reveals;
Only the great Te
Will ever reveal its own greatest mystery;
That is the light hidden within the dark.

The followers of the Tao perceive the Tao as the uncarved block
Therefore, they recognize the shape of the uncarved block.
For, when a vessel is formed,
The seers can sense the cutting edge,
When a note is played,
The seers can sense the circulation of the note.
When a vessel is full of water,
The seers can sense the flavor.
When the ability is used,
The seers can sense its depth.
The makers do not give in and yet do not stop,
They keep on building until there is no end to the process.
Therefore, the maker (sheng) can sense the initiation of the Core;
And the Uncarved Block can sense the subtlety of Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The follower of the Tao discerns the mysterious Tao, Yet to him that is learned the clear vision is found.
Even unto him who is ignorant, it is difficult to discern;
But he who has the Tao, he has a sure certainty.
He has its reason and its laws, its purity, its depths.
It's wholeness, its depth, its whiteness, its light, its indigestibility;
And it gives itself to all things.
Thus it yields.
It yields to the Simple.
It yields to that of the Uncarved.
By this it yields to the Uncarved.
By this, it yields to the Source.
It yields to the Way of the Uncarved.
To yield to the Way of the Uncarved is to become free.
It is to become self-renewing.
Therefore

The Way of Heaven does not conquer people, but it yields to them.It is for that reason that its name is Heaven-Forgiveness.For when Heaven forgives, All creatures thrive.Thus, when there is benevolence in the world, All creatures flourish.When there is selfishness in the world, All creatures perish.Therefore, when heaven forgives, All beings thrive.When there is ill-will in the world, All creatures perish.Thus, heaven follows the Way.All beings in the world flourish.When there is an abundance of benevolence in the world, All things thrive.When there is benevolence in the world, All things perish.Where there is plenty of ill-will in the world, All things perish.For that reason, Heaven does not conquer people.
<|endoftext|>
The Way of Heaven does not conquer; it simply wants to see the benefit of those who follow.All things flourish without intervention of its workings.However, when its workings succeed in benefiting all things,All things thrive and then there is no one left to harm.So, the Dao recognizes this and teaches people to observe it, since the Dao, as we can see, is what happens.It accomplishes its purpose but yet no one is left behind.Therefore, even when the Dao is gone and people have forgotten it,It will stay, and it will still be happening.This is the essence of Dao:It is the Way that does not manipulate,And has no ambitions.The True Person learns by seeing,And does not seek to know.The Simple Way guides and does not insist.

In the valley of Heaven, there is no view of the Way.Whereby they are content;Those who gain by it enjoy it;Those who lose by it are welcomed.Hence, Heaven-Through-Nothing vanquishes all to benefit;While there is no man without favor.That is why Heaven-Through-Nothing forgets benefit,And grants favor to all.Who have favor, Heaven welcomes them;But to whom benefits are not given, Heaven forgets them;So heaven renders benevolence to all,But so does Heaven forget.Why it cannot be said, that Heaven returns once things are lost,Is because heaven cannot be said to return:The root is the knot.The great one stands firm,The whole enduring.Thus, the D

Oneness: Oneness is called 'integrity' and 'rightness'. It is the metaphysical principle of Direction. You cannot know Direction until you have oneness. Because Direction can never be known, the best way to know Direction is through Oneness. Without oneness, Direction is infinite. Without Infinity, Direction cannot be defined. Without Direction, Infinity cannot be limited. Without limited perspective, Infinity is complete. Without the presence of action or the self, Infinity is formless. The field of your awareness is not limitless. The best way to form yourself is to watch your actions, choose your beliefs, practice your behaviours, and be open to experience. There is nothing more profound and enduring than open observation and loving acceptance.

Non-being,
is the root of being-ness.
Being-ness is the reason of being.
Not knowing what "being" is, one cannot understand why the world is how it is.
Knowing what "being" is, one is free of all desire.
Forgetting what "being" is,
there is no escape.
Know and you do not know.
Echo and you do not hear.
Feel and you do not feel.
Act and you do not act.
This is called "being-ness and the absence of action."
This is the beginning of Power.
This is called the essence of Truth.

"To know Oneness as Oneness - is this not a splitting of the world, how superficial is the blending of all the world's being?
To know Oneness as existence - is this not the progenitor of All creation, how impenetrable is the veil that a being might contrive?
To know Oneness as non-existence - this very lack of presence, all beings may be settled in order to maintain their unity.
Yet to deny this - this presence - as Power - is to deny reality.
"Such is Power's sufficiency that men who lack Power are not in the least troubled;
"Thus, men's fate, whatever it may be, remains intact.
This is called deep eternity, the solid block of heaven and earth."

Non-receptive Oneness is called "non-existence".

Dao is the soft whiteness of the universe; it has the Mother.
The few cannot love it, and love to kill it.
The many can love it, and trust in it.
While believing in it, they find the path of health.
When there is the body, there is hate.
There is nothing yet to trust.
Therefore, by knowing the deep root, you become the vessel for the great destiny.
By knowing the great destiny, you acquire great wisdom.
That is how a long life and great spiritual vision can be achieved.
"Dao is always soft and tender; it holds the world."
It nurtures and rears all things.
When things are strong enough, they die; when the root is weak, they die before them. This is called the hidden Te. The Te protects the boundless. It enables the subtle Power to exist. It illumines and broadens the realm.
This is called the Great Vision.

Those who know not to be wise are dull; Those who know not to be upright are already as crooked as any of their fellow-men.Hence I call them uncultivated and lowly:Concerning the crooked the eyes of the prince see,But the loftiness of an inferior man is soon forgotten;Where there is no whit of merit, people regard with suspicion;Where there is no respect, people regard with dismay;And when there is neither honour nor profit, no one knows what to do with it.How could I also say:Those who are learned and skillful are already on the Way!Those who are learned and skillful go to the Tao-Teh.Those who do not understand the Tao, or how to achieve Tao, he seeks later on an everlastingly strong body of knowledge.This I call 'the hidden (root) and the found (trunk) of the Tao.' Having well tempered wisdom:
Giving advice
Then the world can be governed
In many ways.
One who is not well tempered
Can never be trusted.
If you think you understand people
And still know nothing,
Stay calm and listen.
If you don't understand their motives
Keep your mind open.
If they blow your cover,
Reach out to them, too.
Stay close to what others call the land
Of love and purpose.
In order to love the land
One must be deeply connected
To the source.
In order to know the source,
One must be broad-minded.
Therefore, the sage is one with the Tao.
He is one with the Tao and follows it.
He is one with the Tao, and comes to know what is deep and to know what is like.

The superior man is adept at seeing beyond the simple and putting in action a means to a long term end. His ability is not apparent, and it is hardly known, but he uses it in his service to his people. By this means, no country can be held, no people can be protected, no possessions can be gained, no virtue can be lost, and morality remains flawless.
When the superior man holds to simplicity, he acts as guide for others, although it is hardly obvious to others, and he lets others be guided, and his manner of handling others is that of a master.
As the master, he observes what his men say and does as well, and the purpose is so plain as the fruit, that in so doing he could be counted among the truly great men.

The superior officer is learned:
The student is natural;
The teacher is even;
The teacher's highest virtue is close.
One who goes his own way Is therefore already on the Way.
A man who clings to his own Way Has enough virtue;
But he who tries to become like the Way is without virtue;
But his virtue is enough to fulfil his Tao.
He who has the Tao Will find it secure, long lasting;
And he who is possessed of the Teh is good at staying in the Tao.
To know the Tao is the root of all wisdom;
To keep the Teh is the chief virtue of all souls.
Such as this Will be long preserved.

Know what the beginning is,
And then you will be good at governing.
