Those who have learned that Which is contrary to nature, Can be entrusted with holding on to the care of mankind. Those who think of themselves as masters Will have no need of paternal or parental guidance. Those who think of themselves as clever Will have no need of mouthing useless words. For such as these have no trust in the universe. Those who think of themselves as proud Will have no need of pride. For such a one has no need of being proud. Those who think that they are great In their own minds And act in accordance with the laws of their reality Are cursed. Such names are like vipers: The more they devour the one, The more unheeded will he be in everything else. On the subject of greed and want, Only forgetful people are to be found. Therefore it is better to regard Self as the root of everything else, or as having been chosen by nature. To care for oneself as it is the sole origin of everything, Or as returning to the ancient simplicity of which one is a part, Or as knowing that one is the fountain-head of all things, Or as being free from contention and contention, Or as being independent of desire and wealth:Such are the only four ways of being. Without these the man of Tao is despicable. Without such he has no essence. Without a mind that is undistracted, He takes his place as the leader of a neighbouring state. Only without discord or opposition, Everything flows through him.
<|endoftext|>
Those who know the Great opposition are fit to hold on to the care of humanity. Those who love the One are fit to hold on to the care of their mind. Those who know cunning, do not want to display it. Those who love money, do not want to rob people. That which is most disgraceful is that those who are arrogant, do not know humility. Therefore such men have no ability to be proud. Such ones have no ability to be greedy. They have no ability to make a mountain of things. They have no ability to improve themselves. Therefore they are despised by mankind. What men deem the greatest is the least. What is most rejected is the strongest. Therefore if one's mind is free from all these things, he is the one who is free from rootlessness. If one has the rule in his own life, he is the one who is free from contention. He is the one who is free from wealth. Since this is the

Do what you know is right, and be right: it will happen. Do what you are not, and be inefficent. Wear clothes that must be torn to pieces, but you will remember them. Do what the earth will give to you and you will remember what is around you: it is Tao. You give the world nothing yet you are its source: you do nothing yet you are its result: you are nowhere yet you are its result. If you know nothing, it will take care of you: you will be on your own.

If you are not keen to make a distinction, your distinctions will hardly be noticed. You do not like having names, and prefer to be single, this does not make you distinguishable. You are simply free from desire, the second mother of the universe. To live simply is to be how you are.You are free from desires and stilling your senses.Praying is what you have done for the world. The mind is a storehouse of good knowledge.Only when you give up all learning can you have free will. When you can truly love the universe, and show it the love that is meant for it, you will know where you came from. You will know the source of all life.

It is the ability to define the cause that gives substance to the appearance of physical existence. It is a different thing from distinguishing simplicity, for it is the cause that distinguishes between the simple and the complicated. For simplicity is beyond the comprehension of men, for the distinguishing impulse is always latent in them, even when their imaginations are obstructed by incongruous physical objects. The Sage distinguishes between light and dark. Before, and after. Between good and evil. Between life and death. Between form and matter. There

When there is calm and peace, then there is justice and righteousness. When there is justice and righteousness, then there is genuine love. When there is genuine love, then there is truth and truthfulness. When there is truth and truthfulness, then there is nobility and nobility. So the sage should be always sincere, always unbiased, always open, always humble, always great, and always real.

When the six senses are not used, irritation and derangement reign. When the senses are not used, the trouble of observing has vanished, wherefore distress will be softened by the appearance of peace. When the trouble of observing has gone, then there will be an easy order, and the nameless will be recognised. In this way the secrets will be gradually clarified. How shall this be done?It is by stretching, closing and binding the senses,How shall you do so?How shall you get in touch with the beyond and desireless?By embracing and embracing with self-subsistence.Where there is something incorporeal and spiritual,Then there is one who preserves it.Where there is something incorporeal and spiritual,Then there is one who looks after it.Where there is something incorporeal and spiritual,Then there is one who has joy.Where there is something incorporeal and spiritual,Then there is one who has sorrow.Because the sage recognizes himself as one with incorporeal, spiritual, he is always at one with himself, and as though he was surrounded by heavenly hosts.

The wise man cuts himself free from the attachment to these desires, and lets the two sides arise and fall.

When Tao is loved, Heavens are redeemed.

When Heavens' say,

All Heavens say,

Will fear nothing,
And they return to Earth like newborn children."
So, honor and disgrace
Are but the doors that open
The walls that divide
The emptiness within.
This is the subtle female mystery
That brings out the sun in the darkness
It's the deep that reveals
The heaven of infinite completeness
So avoid the common people

The Tao is beyond human proclivities; The universe is beyond human conduct; The Tao is without human discrimination and opposites in its simplest simplicity; Therefore, it is the primal source of all Dao, and therefore is of universal utility.

(From old masters who) knew the Way were there no expressions. Now we can say that the Tao and the Way are no words. They are profound, profound, from the very beginning. These deep matters of the ancient Way are all-pervading and endlessly bewailing themselves. They enter and leave them, until one is left with the emergence of the darkness. Once one has emerged and been overcome by them, one can neither be satisfied with what is desired nor moved by what is needed. When one is content with what is needed, one can follow it without insisting on trying to do anything. When one is content with what is moved by, one is ready to move and act according to the laws of heaven. When one understands the Way of Heaven, then the world will be one in peace and harmony.

The Dao or Way is not a name.
Being named, it is not the Dao.
A name never dies;
Be satisfied with the natural
Some things become lost;
Others are born again.
Evolving without loss,
Abiding in the birth and death of things.
It is natural for what becomes lost
and what comes to life
to reside together,
not diverging.
To have no need to desire
We need nothing more.
To find ourselves
in the embrace of nature
May our minds be still,
not cluttered by wishes.
To return to a state of savagery
May we remember the beloved,
that dear to us,
and act accordingly.
Once one has realized the Dao,
One can expect no mistaking him.
The Tao is no name
It is the ancient unnameable Tao
A spirit of the Tao is hidden.
It is ever present, never absent
In all things an image,
and dead and living
Nature's words will not satisfy.
Nature's description will not delight.
All things may be confused,
and will get confused
But, without the Tao, what would be?
Its beauty is lost,
and rarefied.
Its wonder is lost,
and rarefied.
Its secret is hidden,
and vague.

That is the true way, and nothing can detest or despise it. It is spacious and free from walls, it is slow to move, and is as nameless as the finest terrace. This is the world-name, and this is true power. The gentleman may say it is virtuous, while the ordinary person may call it phlegmatic. But they are no more worthy of praise. This is the great way.

Pure virtue is beyond measure:The Everlasting Virtue is beyond measure. If it is inadequate, it returns to nothingness. If it is inadequate, it creates greatness. If it is inadequate, it tears up the fabric of space. If it is inadequate, it penetrates into other things. If it is inadequate, it is rejected. Therefore it gives birth to imperfect and inadequate beings. This is called the hidden mystery of virtue:This is the truly vast virtue. What is not bragful is but to be small and weak,What is not blameless is but to have a face and a background. Thus, from this comes the reality of universal benevolence.

Proletarian virtue rarely ever is found. The tao is without a name. Since it is beyond measure, it cannot be named. For if it can be named, it is called "The Everlasting Virtue." If it can be named, it is called "The Impossible Form." If it can be named, it is called "The Grasping Pile."If it can be grasped, it is called "The Infinite Becoming."If it can be produced, it is called "The Continuous Being."When one is incomplete, the next comes up.Therefore, the greatest power is the consequence of imperfection.Naming acts as a sign. When all things are completed, there are still no names. In this way all beings come to be.This is called the constant becoming. For all beings came to be, they need not have been born of virtue. Therefore the truly great man is the child of the world.

He who has attained the Tao cannot be bent,He can be drawn,He can be quartered. He who does not seek after; he cannot be reduced. He who does not let himself be depleted; he can be perfected. He who can go on in a state of deep concentrationHe cannot become distracted. He can control all things and be free of prejudice. He can alone express, completely without words, his consciousness. He has an infinity of consciousness and fully expresses his consciousness.Being unaware of oneself, he is utterly conscious of the infinite whole. He is the Tao of the universe.

A circle cannot hold.A room cannot be contained.A picture cannot be carved. Thus the Master says:One channelless (way), one's own face (origin), one's own (nourishment) intellect (alertness), one's own (controlling) discernment (wisdom), one's own (unconscious) stamina (power), one's own (effort) spirit, one's own (ultimate energy), one's own (ungoverness), one's own (ultimate longing). Thus the Way becomes a middle place where one can be and nowhere being (provided), a door (form) which is an entrance (sense), a picture which can be taken, and a Dao (way).

When a man whose intention is good has left his work, all things follow him.
He does away with all who have not much,
And all who have much arise.
Behold this:
To stop one's eyes one cannot see clearly;
To be dull one cannot be dark;
To step lightly one cannot stand firm;
To play cautiously one cannot play high;
To know fully one cannot know greatly.
These things are the highest end attained by man:
To walk in the Way by not using one's self as example.
<|endoftext|>
When man gives way to Tao, ten thousand things follow. The king certainly follows Tao, and a thousand things arise. But the superior man, from his own essence, disappears; thus he does away with the outer shell. And when he makes use of the inner as well, the old and the new come into existence. To separate his eyes is no light,To light up is no darkness,To step lightly is no excessive,To go up is no wasting,To see deeply is no obscurity,To know fully is no bragging,To see the way is no dominating: To walk on the path is not a conquest,To be carried on by Tao is not the limit,The Way opens everywhere, and remains invisible,All things spring forth and yield,And it is no one's own body but the body of Tao that is the foundation.

Abandon the Tao and ten thousand things will come to you.
Keep away from the Tao and ten thousand things will leave you.
Be subtle and you can see clearly.
Be penetrating and you will see deeply.

This way is the Tao of the Infant and the Wise Man.
The unkind and unkindly are what Constell others with.
The unfaithful are what Constell others with.
The bright and virtuous are what Constell others with.
The watchful and unwary are what Constell others with.
The good and bad are what Constell others with.
The wise and foolish are what Constell others with.
Therefore he is the one to whom all else gives wisdom and thus he is at home among the others.
This is the reason that the prince is always middling.
That is why the King is always plain and simple.
In that case no one can trust him, and no one knows where to turn to.
That is why the sage wants no embellishment, prefers to be without pride and humility, and is humble to everyone.
That is why he lets others do as they please.
That is why he has no self-interest, and only achieves his ends.

Then it will make no difference whether you perceive good or evil
Or when you consider the effects of all that is and to seek return to nothingness

Without false advertising,
Your natures will again become manifest.
Without love or contempt,
To this day you will return to those who are in harmony with your nature

When you lose all fabrication,
You will see only what is real
With no prejudices, no distrust, no gain or loss.
To that end you must reject everything
That feels pretentious or artificial
And see only that which is genuine and simple.
Without pretension you see what is real
And without self-importance you see what is plain
From then on what's needed is only what you have
I believe this is the most important reason why Princes and Kings

They will then be ready to listen with mildness, patience, trust, and knowledge of the man or woman who carries out their words. The ability of goodness should be tempered with kindness. The man who works well should not respond too strongly to events. The force of the leader will be lightly displayed, the example the work will be a delicate matter, yet success will be achieved. When an individualist is informed of his position, his intent, and the authority which is given to him, there is on the one hand a clear rejection of what he calls his 'natural' behaviour, and, on the other hand, the role which he has been forced to play. Therefore, when politeness is not respected, when someone sees the light, or when an event has happened, the show has just come to an abrupt end. This is simply a counterposition: the respectful action to politeness, the strengthening of the left side, and that's it.

The students of Tao, when learning to master the Way, will not be able to act in a willful manner. To play the part of god, or act on the self, and to argue with authority.
All of them are unfair,
Yet they do not permit the right to act by giving clemency to a god,
But let him act with clemency,
And let him argue with authority.
What is the use of clemency in a god? He will not act for the sake of the self.
What is the use of argument for a god?
The self is not worthy of any clemency.
A god who acts the way a god acts is unworthy of clemency. A god who does not act the way a god acts is unworthy of argument.

The student of Tao does not play the role of a god;He does not force others to act for his purposes. He acts according to the inner law of Nature,He does not assert the righteousness of other people. He acts according to the laws of the Universe.

To name things by the very name we have formed them and that is why they have life. The living we can not comprehend, for it is impossible to understand how we use the unformed. One is said to grasp what is round about, one is said to grasp the outer, one is said to grasp the inner, one is said to grasp all four, one is said to grasp the sacrificial, one is said to grasp the original, one is said to grasp the purest white. This is the equality which cannot be specified, and so is called unique. When we compare it with other beings, which are soon followed by what is soon followed by what is soon forgotten, we see that it is not without honour.

To know something is to be confused.Knowledge is the root of confusion. When we grasp what is to be grasped, we tend toward darkness. When we grasp what is to be grasped, we tend toward light. When we grasp what is to be carried, we tend toward dirt. When we grasp what is to be led, we tend toward darkness. So the superior men avoided keeping to the dark. Therefore they are esteemed as auspicious. When these are compared, we must keep to the light. Therefore we can learn about their faults. The one in the light, how could we know the other? So we must take to ourselves. That is why we must be proud of them. Therefore we should praise them. They are neither great nor insignificant.

The hard and the blunt are considered the oldest form of example. The hard must be followed by the thick, The soft must be followed by the rough, The bland must be followed by the profane, The deep must be followed by the superficial, The hollow must be followed by the easily comprehended. Therefore, simplicity is the root of all deepness and rectitude. Though we know the root, we don't know the end. Nor do we realize its superiority. This is the mystery of mysteries. It is the gateway to all wisdom.
<|endoftext|>
Harmonize the sharp and the blunt,
The light and the dark,
These should not be paired.
Discard the one, then discard the other.
Regard rectitude as contemptuous display,
Blunt the very tangible.
Blunt and then sharpen.
Mix with unity as dust.
This is the mystery of obscurity.
Give way to naughtness,
Then one becomes, or seeks, a ruler.
A true prince seeks none and abides therein;
A naught man seeks himself and is then surrounded by muddle.
These are the mysterious relations of Infinity.
<|endoftext|>
He who harmonizes the sharp and the blunt is ancient:The light and the dark,The tender and the reproach,Should not be the subject of converse.
Banish the one and renounce the other.
Concordant virtues are weak but impalpable;
Renounce the one, and again renounce the other.
Cut away with the highest effort, then shed it.
Thicken, then sharpen;
Mix one, and then contrast the other;
Mix one, and then disdain the other.
These are mysteries deep and obscure.
Give rise to unity, and eventually to decline:
To know the reason why the Grand Harmony has always prevailed is that it is no mystery.

If the sharpens the gentleman, he will not be cut with the cross;
If the darkeneth the man, he will not be overtaken by his darkness.
We should polish away the one without make his other.
We should discard the one without weaken the other.
That is the doctrine of Simplicity:
If we stay in the State of the Earth, We shall always return to the simplicity.

When a Taoist is willing to compete, one must be ready to compete.
Whoever claims his good side and does not try to be good does not deserve his good.
Whoever claims the bad side and justifies his bad acts must accept the bad side as his own.
Whoever claims the good side and justifies his good acts must accept the good side as his own.
Whoever wants to be superior and suffer the downfall of the group is not likely to succeed.
Those who are superior are the gate to all others.
Those who act as if they are on the other side of the gate are not the people's true home.

Honor-winning persons appear indifferent when insulted. The average person has no etiquette.A man of undivided self is different from the average man.Divided, he draws strength. When the divided man acts, he accomplishes. When the man of undivided self acts, he accomplishes.
If you like to be careful and considerate of others, you will soon be visited by disparaging remarks. Those who are delicate and careful about themselves take care when they are in conflict. When the man of delicate and careful self is in conflict, he takes care that he is in conflict with no contradiction. Those who are considerate and considerate of others can hardly be treated differently. Those who are delicate and considerate of others are treated well. Those who are consideratic and considerate of others are treated well. That is why those who are shrewd and farsighted will not succeed. Those who are alert and quick will soon fall.

If a good man is treated by others as worthy, it serves no purpose to use an insult.
Those without self-knowledge cannot be insulted.
The ten thousand rivers and seas are so
with each other. The taoist may be disliked, but he can not be insulted.

To become one is to be something that is complete

The well guarded blade is the best counter to the counter of the cunning. One should keep all things in order and divide the material universe. For this reason we see the blade: sharpness, division, obscurity, brightness, unity. These are the qualities of a ruler. Therefore he is unfaltering and unmoved in the extreme. The powerful amass with himself; he is not shaped by nature, and stays in his own tracks. The intellect gathers and gathers. Without splitting anything, with the self-knowledge, the ruler has no need to divide the realm. The ruler does not flaunt his might; he does not display his strength. He does not glory in what he has. He is sui generis and eternal.
<|endoftext|>
The impartial blade: the uncut blade is the most cutting counter for the sharpness of the counter. You must keep everything in order and you find the cutting edge, the sharpness is the cutting edge. It is a different matter that it is smooth, all that is smooth is the cutting edge. Exactly as the true gentlemen will follow in the same track as the uncut blade. Not unbluned, not bent, without being drawn back: this is the rule of cleverness. In the light, the sharpness, the nimbleness, the depth, the brightness, the darkness, the brightness, the light, the depth, the darkness, the depth, the darkness: these are all things, therefore the uncut shall be removed. What can be understood, not understood: all this remains.

Cautious in the job, do not recklessly use your work. This is like tending a garden. If you do not live in conflict with the earth, you will not spill your essence upon the world.

He is simple, objective, sure, thorough, exact, he is above all, yet he is hardly differentiated, above all, the difference cannot be realized. If one tries to make his faults beautiful, he will become harsh, he will make his achievements great, he will leave a trail, he will leave a valley, he will leave a problem. All these come from the very nature of the Tao. Thus, he who can master the Tao and return to the Way will be impartial and impartial. To return to the Tao is to revert to the source. To return to the source is to return to one's whole being. To return to one's whole being is to return to the Tao. Therefore, the sage becomes unchangeable. He is like water, so is not affected by the wind. He is tolerant, so his way can be taken. The Way which brings health to the body has nothing to do with the Way; the Way which serves the body in health is the Way. The Way which divides the body into parts which may feed each other has nothing to do with the Way. And the Way which makes the parts which feed each other fit together has nothing to do with the Way. These are the three qualities that the Tao man takes for example to be 'like.' These are those which he should not be touched. These are those which he should not remember. These are those which he should not consider worth to himself. These are those which he should not lay claim to. These are those which enable him to become successful. These are the four qualities which he should reverently esteem and praise.

"Before he named a thing the Way:" I made a difference with the way; "Before he made the Way the man: I had something to do: I had something to do."
That which is 'and one:' it could neither be confused nor named.
That which is 'two:' it could neither be forgotten nor named.
That which is 'three': it could neither be obstructed nor distinguished.
When all the three affairs come together, it becomes the One.
When all the three affairs come together and merge, then they become Two.
When all the three affairs merge, then they become Three.
When all three combine, then they become the Subtle.
The Subtle! Who disowns this: He can be called the Sage: He can be called the leader: He can be called one's Helper.
Who honours those virtues that cannot be attained in the world: He is the most distinguished among the Saints.

The Tao is empty.
The Tao is hollow.
If you look for it, you find only emptiness.
And if you try to fill it, you find only emptiness.
And if you make your desires big, you find only emptiness.

And embraces eternity in the company of Tao.
Therefore the sage maintains emptiness,

Perfect knowledge is insufficient. It is lacking both for truth and falsehood. There are only the two, and it is neither of them. This is called the mysterious subtle Way.One who knows the subtle Way will not put himself at the mercy of any force, or in any danger. One who knows not the subtle Way will be at great risk in his dealings with others, with Nature, or with Heaven. One who is highly conscious of this and knows it to be true,Will be indefatigable in his task of saving the people. This is called the Mystery of Mystery. One who knows the mysteries of the subtle Way, will not submit to any invasion of power, or any danger. He who knows not the mysteries of the subtle Way, will, though in a position to submit to those, on occasion, who might turn against him, be in the condition to submit to those who would one day attack him. This is called the Mystery of Mysteries. Those who have the deep sense of the mysteries are distinguished by the common people. They are distinguished by the common people. The former also preserve and love the mysteries, and teach others how to preserve them. This is called abiding in the mysteries and preserving them. What this teaches is also called being subtle, subtle indeed.

He who knows has no need to dwell upon his wisdom. Whoever dwells upon his wisdom has need to live in order to make known the infinity of his own wisdom. If one is cunning and sly he will control the life of people by being cunning and sly. Whoever lives in the life of wisdom can only learn without using force. He can only live in order to preserve life in people and in the state by preserving them. Therefore, all the minds of the world are given birth to such knowledge by means of this. When the depth of these mysteries is understood, all have come to know the enlightenment of their innate capacity to understand the subtle things. Being in constant knowledge this will not weaken the eternal nobility.

The best tao appears to be an empty vessel. The best speech appears to be an infantile articulation. The best music appears to be empty harmonious tones. The best rituals appear to be the work of an old and unappealing mother. Therefore the sage cares for the inferior, and not for himself. He cuts out the corners and eliminates the flaws, while by a still discernment, he recognizes his originality. His originality is his usefulness. Since the uncarved wood is not reed and the jade is not the sacred vessel, both the skill of the sage and the uncarved wood and the jade and the sacred vessel are but necessary parts. Neither is it proper to take advantage of the other for oneself, for he is useful to both, and thus he is esteemed by both.

The real possession of Dao is as an empty vessel. The true speech is as an infantile utterance. The true music is like an empty guttural tone. The true sacrificial sacrifice is as an uncouth mother. Therefore the wise cares for the inferior and does not for himself. He cuts out the imperfections and discards the useless; he gently interweaves and distinguishes the vistas. This process of differentiation is called the true subtleness. Therefore the truly simple is prized by the world.

There is a Te in the universe. It is te. Te is in everything and everything is te. All things are te. When we become aware of this awareness, we become aware of its absence; then we become aware of its presence. We know this awareness is absent, yet we do not allow ourselves to see it, because our awareness of it is so real, so subtle, so profound, so profound, and so real.

There are ancients, Who know the Way that is on the Tao: there is the Way.The Tao is everywhere,And we are aware of its simplicity. We see that simplicity everywhere; That unity is in the beginning,And that unity is changeable. But we do not let these change, So that the Tao is present in all.

The ancient masters of the Tao are everywhere. The Tao is always present in them.Their vibrant presence is plain and luminous.Their beautiful vitality is abundant.Their connectedness is essential.Their relationship is deep and sweet. Their expression is inexpressible. Without change there can be growth. The Tao is present everywhere. All living things touch it, or react with it. If you can observe it you can observe it in others. If you try to describe it you can describe it in others. If you try to express it you can express it in others. When the Tao is properly expressed and used, this reality is beyond dispute. All manifestations exist in this harmony, and can be neither acted out nor denied. The Tao alone is identified with being, with the fullness of the Self, and nothing else. Being is self-same with the Absolute, and here the Tao is both one and non-action.

Heaven and earth are on one level.Heaven is bright and peaceful while Earth is dry and lifeless.Either one is the same or different.Either one remains or falls below the other.Heaven is so bright that it can be seen from space, and Earth so quiet it can be felt from the ground. They both are on the same plane and hence they can be seen from different distances.Humility and splendor both accompany such a position. And being one, being different is enough.Since light shines from darkness, dimness is created by contrast.Peace and depth arise from exhaustion.Humility and glories seem to come from robbing.Courage and arrogance are both an illusion of freedom.Favoredness and humility are also delusions of independence.Favor and humility are both bestowal ceremonies.Fashioning names into monikers and celebrations is also a part of these rites.Although the broad conception may be present, it is only one point of comparison. The wise man does not try to style himself, or to lord over others, or to put himself above all things. In humility he bestows glory, in humility he can show his love.In modesty he magnifies self.In the beauty of wisdom, he magnifies himself. In the richness of life, he delights in the broadest and truest life. Thus the greatest man rejects the great, and the greatest woman doesn't value herself.

The sharpest blade is not the best tool. The lightest touch is not the greatest illumination.
What is the true essence of the universe?
The greatest emptiness and simplicity.
For the people, this is bliss.
The greatest light is not the light of heaven.

they awaken and heighten their sense of purpose.
Knowing the ultimate truth, they become impartial, and they enable people to be settled.
They enable people to be righteous and simple,
They make them simple and virtuous,
They make them strong and simple,
They bring them happiness and peace.

Tao, the light
Of all things, how do they turn from it?
The lords of ancient times and all things before them:
Can any one tell them?
Fading is Tao;
The light of all things, dark is its shadow.
Can anyone see Tao?
Can he not see Tao,
The light of all things,
Dark and void?
These become one when Tao

Its highest reaches reach not into the depths
Of the endless, nor being-submerged,
Nor ever become bright.
Thus it is called,
The original oneness.
Hence it is the most lowly,
From the source.
This oneness is the quintessence.
How can anyone
As far as they go,
Must by learning seek to separate
From it?

From the One essence
That is he?

Knowing the Dao helps you live in reality.
Live in reality without attempting to hold on to this world.
Act without desire and your life is complete.
Resist desire and there is chaos in your life.
A mystery comes into being in the end when you let go of your earthly self.
The whole universe flows through you.
Go home and you live within yourself.
Become unselfish. Your desires will leave you.
You can be independent.
Know you have a purpose, and the world will accept you.
Knowing you have purpose, you can shine.
You are important because you are different.
You are loved because you are loved.

The Way, in the end, is a good living. In it all things grow. Everything flows and seems to flow. It is as though the Tao were made into everything. It is as though all creation were made up of this. Everything follows its own natural way and all things go their way. When they do, they seem to work it through again. It is as though the Way were made into everything. All beings, different from each other, are separated into parts. Each part of the Way is a function of the rest. A function has its space, and things flow with it. When they do so, they appear peaceful and spontaneous. The Way's most ordinary and most ordinary things do not make so many of themselves. They are unknowable, like "the Tao." They differ in some degree from everything else, in that they seem to be in great awe of it. When such awe is fed into their

True persons are so humble and wantonly. It is because they are so humble, so selfish, and so unsteady, that they are able to act virtuously. Being virtuous is the base of virtuous acts. But one who is without even an attachment to the base will be bewildered and require more attention. Being confused means that those without a base can't be confused. Hence, without seeking desire, one can satisfy all desires. Being without an attachment to the desire means one can overcome all desires. But once one can overcome all desires, it is as if one has no desires at all. Thus, having no desires at all, one is able to master all things.

The discerning man sees the truth but acts only by non-action;The sagacious man, though good, moves by degrees; The selfish man, though generous, increases wealth; The wise man, though knowledgeable, sits still; And those who are not of God find only the dark. They therefore achieve the vision by non-action, and then become enlightened by goodness. Goodness finds completion by non-action. Goodness then finds completion by what is not good. And by this way goodness gets complete, and when not good is destroyed. This is why the wise man, the learned, the coarse-minded, the superior men, and the leaders of the massesAlways achieve the greatest in the extreme.

Thirty-five wise men, who in the preceding days have always been good gentlemen, among whom were those who had the character of good gentlemen, those who were the people say, have said that when you treat the superior with kindness, it is because you regard the inferior with kindness, and when you treat the inferior with humility, it is because you regard the superior with humility. Whoever utters words like these does not realize that these words are empty things. Therefore, when you value the superior, you treat the inferior with kindness, when you treat the inferior with humility, when you treat the superior with benevolence, when you treat the inferior with magnanimity. In dealing with things other than yourself, and not depending on yourself for everything, you do not value the institutions that belong to the world, nor become bitter and quarrelsome. For such things, we know that, if you have not enough, you will not be stubborn.
<|endoftext|>
There were among the ancient officials a number who were good in their words. They were highly esteemed by those in whom benevolence and kindness were felt. They were treated kindly by those in whom a view of things different from their own was felt. When leaders appeared they would say: You see, when you see, you can't be trusted. Those in whom one sees a superiority do not, therefore, know it exists. When others will listen they are not acknowledged. When a high position is given to them they are not honoured. When others will praise them they are not praised. The utterance of words are words and cannot be endured. They do not afford any value to the work. The better order is the work, and the art of government rests in administering it without saying: 'It's working.' But if the leader deems it unwise, he turns away. Without words a leader seems a fool. No country can last for long without its leaders.

The only thing which is useful is the social world.
2. Those who see the world as a valley understand it as a valley. Those who see the world as the mind understands it as the mind. Those who see it as having no mind understand it as consciousness. Without a mind what direction is it to be in? As it is in this condition, there is no place where there is no mind.

Without your guiding being constantly in view,
Yet as bright as when alone in the ravine. Without your guiding being constantly in sight, Yet as dim as when seen side by side with a brook. Without your guiding being constantly in mind, Yet as bright as when you're alone in the room. Without your guiding being constantly in being, Yet as sharp as when you're alone in the room. Without your guiding being constantly in being, Yet as sharp as when you're one with it, You cannot see its end. It has no end.

Do you only follow one path and never move?
Am I a bad example for your child?
If I did, I wouldn't move too much. I am simply an ordinary person.
When I am alone I am always quiet, quiet and quiet,
But when I am in the presence of others I am loud and lively,
But when I am in the presence of myself I am simple and empty,
Yet when I am enlightened I can see that nothing will ever be the same.
<|endoftext|>
Do you only show your insight, but do not move? Isn't it a foolish and foolish idea to say that you only see the light that shines through you?
If I did move, I would be reborn in darkness.
When the light has faded,
My heart seems unravelled, I feel empty, like a valley.
If I was asked to describe it, I can only say it's bright, but it is without brightness.
My mind remains at rest.
A valley that is ever empty.
I am like a single root. It has no mind or will to be!
<|endoftext|>
Do you only wait, passively, as if to contemplate the Dao?
Until you're nearing completion; is this not foolish? Do you only take refuge in your own head,
But in

Never stop trying.
Act constantly so that you can succeed.
Act constantly so that you will fail.
Always follow what is right.
Always fail so that you can learn.
Always fail so that you can become wise.
Always fail so that you can make a lot of profit.
Always fail so that you can do great deeds.
Always fail so that you can meet your goal.
Always fail so that you will meet your shadow.
Therefore, those who understand the Way, are free of all disorders.
Because they are free of all disorders, the people live well.
Because they are well, the world abides with no troubles.

Recognize, to move forward;
Change the mind of the whole body;
Say, go on, so that you may leave.
Embrace your identity and disappear.
Let the surrounding affairs flourish,
Open up all-absorbing doors,
Dispel the sharpness,
Sharpen the sharpness,
Make the particles unformable,
And so eliminate decay.
Thus it is that there is no doubt that the Dao is to be relied on.

He who studies does not
discern what he does not see;
He who is restless does not attempt to control what is his own
He who fears his fellow-man
never tries to force him to accept.
He who speaks the truth never denies it;
He who ignores its truth
will never correct it.
Therefore, his public authority
Must not be limited by his private,
For public authority alone can be applied
To the actions of men.
Therefore, men are left free to choose,
To act, without coercion,
To behave, without forcing,
And so flourish in the social world.
Because of this,
The social world will abide,
And all will prosper under its guidance.
<|endoftext|>
Hold fast to your doctrine, and be whole, for everything will flow into you
And serve to your best advantage.
To be restless, to be inactive, to be impetuous, to be flippant, to be insolent, to be insolent, to be mean, to be subtle, and to be ill-tempered, has the effect of perplexity.

Whoever has the Tao does not talk,Whoever talks, does not know it,Whoever knows it, does not let it in.Light as morning until dark. From morning to dark. From morning to morning. From morning to morning. From morning to dark. From morning to bright. From bright to dark. From bright to dark. From dark to darkness. From darkness to darkness. From obscurity to righteousness. From righteousness to contention. From contention to a dead end. Therefore the world is valued.

Those who understand the Tao do not keep it a secret; Those who keep it a secret do not speak about it; Those who speak, do not know it.Darken the four quarters of the sky and darkness will abate; Blacken the four quarters of the sky and darkness will disappear. Darkness will again be followed by the next morning. And so darkness is followed by morning, The next morning brings darkness again, The following morning brings darkness again, And following morning brings again and following again. Darkness brings back the principles of darkness.
<|endoftext|>
Whoever has Tao does not contrive to conceal it,Whoever contrives to hide it, cannot tell it.One should say that darken the four quarters of the sky,Darken the four quarters of the sky, and the heavens will cease to be dark.Darken the four quarters of the sky and the heavens will return to a deeper state.Darken the four quarters of the sky, and the great sky and the depths of it will become dark.Darken the four quarters of the sky and the great sky, and the heavens will become bright.Darken the four quarters of the sky and the great sky, and the galaxies will become empty.Break up the great white essence and there will be light. Therefore, those who have Tao are valued not because of the virtues they have, but because of the virtue they do not have.
<|endoftext|>
He who has virtue does not show his power. He who shows his power knows he is a prisoner of virtue.Hence he who resembles the Tao in his space is transformed into a dark square. The space of the Tao is clear, which may be the reason why it is a good square. The space of the virtues is illumined, which may be the reason why they are a good square. So, being transformed by virtue and then to have transformed by virtue, one also returns to the primeval square

[By (love) simply giving up, I appear to benefit and fulfill the purposes of (My bodily body). By) merely losing, I appear to betray and abandon the purpose of (My bodily body). By) merely acting, I appear to ignore (the purpose of) my body. Therefore I see (As the social world) as unnecessary. This is the reason why my social life is valuable.
So the Sage, when his name is said, avenas good at saving people and helping them to profit. When he is well treated, he acts according to his nature. When his name is not stated, his actions cannot be understood. When there is no desire for his words, he returns to his own nature, and will not act against that nature. Therefore, the Sage, who is an enlightened one, exists in the absence of desires. Therefore, he benefits the whole world.
When people do not value money, treasures do not exist. Therefore, when a wise man feels that he is being stolen, he does not open his eyes. When people want to be master, he will not try to seize them. When they become overworked, he will not blow them away. For this reason, the wise man does not seek possessions and succeeds in saving people. If he does not succeed, they become his own property. Therefore, he is wealthy and famous.
Therefore, the enlightened man does not value possessions. Therefore, he is distinguished from the masses. He acts without being stubborn. He does not contend. This is his quality.
Therefore, he has a business to keep and the community expects his actions with their own bodies.
He is free from unnecessary cares. He is secure.

The Teacher acts with the utmost purity.
He acts without any thought.
He acts without clarity.
He acts without distinction.

He is not straining.

She acts without anything of use.
She acts with no merit and is thus inexhaustible.

Because she is devoid of faults, she is not tarnished.

We say that those who know are not learned:Therefore we say that those who know do not boast of what they know.
We know the ways of Tao, but not its subtlety. Yet we are learned, and often boast of our knowledge. But, when we know Tao, we do not glorify its subtlety; we do not affirm that we know what we know.
Therefore, when those who know Tao give a lesson, we say, "We do not boast of our knowledge. This is a hidden truth."When those who know Tao do not glorify it, we say, "This is a greatly exaggerated belief."When we know Tao as Tao, but do not praise it, we say, "This is a manner of thinking that is not Tao."When we know Tao as Tao, but do not praise it, we say, "This is an infantile conception."When Tao is imperfect, we say, "It is cunningly clever."When Tao is imperfect, we say, "It is not cunningly clever."Therefore it is to avoid confusion that we say that no one likes to be lost. When those who know Tao look on disdainfully,
so we say, "That is not Tao."Therefore, one can only go far by leaving home.So when Tao is lost, one can only go to the Way.

Therefore we deem the world as valuable. The more people become accustomed to this, the better.
<|endoftext|>
The wise man honors the Tao and does not talk of himself. He does not assert himself. He acts from what he has, not from what he believes he has. To the contrary, he has the virtue of obscurity. He does not know himself, yet he treats himself as distinguished. He does not know himself, yet he views others as distinguished. He knows himself not, yet he looks down on others. He knows himself but cannot affirm himself, yet he is in a position to act. He does not trust in himself, yet he is trusted.
To the depth of the mind, the Tao is a mystery.
This simplicity was in Tao before creation. It is the embodiment of how beauty does not separate into separate substances. The depth of the deep is depth and light are light and depth.
There is no a priori in this unity of Dao. This unity cannot be grasped and therefore cannot be rejected.
<|endoftext|>
The Sage takes Tao and doesn't talk about it. He does not make things difficult for himself and doesn't try to keep them even harder for anyone else. If he is determined, he can't stay here.
He walks, is satisfied.
And so, the world is useful and far apart is beyond useful and far apart. That is why the Sage values this world and that world.
The more people live like this, the better the world will become.
That is why the world is useful.
The more you are familiar with Tao, the more likely you will be able to be in the Way.
And so, the Way is a way, not a name.
The way is hidden but not lost.
Do what you must and be content,
and the Way will go with you.

Valuing ourselves, valuing loyalty and devotion for others. When one's loyalty and devotion for one's self is exhausted, then loyalty and devotion for others is inadequate. When one lacks a loyalty and devotion for one's self, then the loyalty and devotion for others is inadequate.

We know that the world exists, and is therefore not the common ancestor. We know that there are things and then there are things, and then there are things, and then there are things, and then there are things. This is called "both wanting and being." We know this is true, and so as well.

An ignorant traveler is lost; A wise man is learned. A master is master-like. An insignificant fellow is master-like; He gets a lukewarm place from the master. Being master-like, He is respected. But a worthy thing is not. Who would value a thing as being worthy? To value a thing is to be one with that thing. It is not enough to have what it does, If you want more it will turn you away. What kind of a thing is this? That which is stupid is remembered as someone else's stupidity.
<|endoftext|>
The adept assists those who are ignorant and by being so, safely achieves the lesson. The wise engages all who are competent and by receiving it, is able to serve others. For the ignorant, man with the least understanding is more then competent. Therefore, when a master deems the less experienced worthy of precedence, they are served without disfavor. In serving someone less than competent, and after his master has understood, he also recognizes the merit of the lesser lesson. When one is safe, one becomes self-sufficient, and so benefits those less intelligent than oneself. Those more intelligent than oneself. therefore, have credibility, and so do better than others. Such is the general rule. The adept teaches, but not through comprehension. This takes the lessons further. The truly wise learn, and not to be so enlightened. Then, knowledge is not for them. They learn through diligence and work. No more. This is a vital lesson.
<|endoftext|>
The adept in the students is indifferent. The wise instructor is impartial. Superior ones rule over ignorant, average ones rule over superior ones. It is always when mediocre ones lack knowledge, are given precedence over superior ones. So are the famous in life: lesser to greater, superior to lesser, and so on. Therefore, the intelligent one has no other goal, than the merit of the merit of the merit. Knowledge that the average person has is not desirable. Thus, when he receives one who does not understand, he demands from him other ones who understand him. The

By this way: the sage never displays, wears soft garments, sheds no tears, (or) is insubstantial, so that he becomes one with the Great.
The sages go out of doors and back by their doors, they would not be glad to receive men of high character in their presence. Therefore, a sage prefers quietness to glory. He who dares to speak of the Way will be laughed at. He who goes to arms against Tao, will be hated by those who fight Tao. But the truly enlightened do not harm anyone, while their benevolence will be meritorious to all.
<|endoftext|>
The wise man appears impassive. Thus he neither gets praise nor derision, but chooses to seem passive. Thus he is unaware of what other people are doing. The wise man does not have fame or riches, so he is not threatened by any one. Thus he leaves nothing unturned. To this day, if you hold an ordinary belief in Tao, then you will also lose all belief in the Mystic Way, and the Mystic Way will start to be presented as the Tao.

Those who know the light of Tao eschew ornament, unfurl softness, shed no tears, and change themselves, no matter what things are around them.
Those who know the virtue of Tao, leave not seeming good, and therefore appear noble.
Thus do they not flaunt themselves, but remain invisible and still.
Therefore, they do not flaunt themselves, but remain unrecognizable.
The saying of the man of light, absent of action, seems serene and still.
Without blemish, they are laissez-faire and without evil,

The Sage knows nothing, and does not have to show, and he regards nothing as 'no'.
He is not busy, he is not conspicuous, he is not set in his ways, he is not scheming, he is not 'old-fashioned'.
He is 'young' indeed, for he sees that other men will not let him play on them.
That is the reason why the Sage dwells in silence, and thinks about nothing.
As regards clothing, he doesn't worry much about color.

If you wish to become one with the Tao, you must first make no-thing.When you know Tao, you are not afraid of nothing. When you do not know Tao, you are aware of nothing.Being aware, you will only see things once again. This is called "emptiness".But, when you make the Nothing-ness of the Tao a habit,You will become like a child again. When you have become nothingness, you will no longer be afraid of the Nothingness. When you have become nothingness, you will be free from the sense of separation. When you have become freedom from separation, you will be in harmony with all creation.

Thus all people know the Tao and the Tze, though for a long time they have no concept of it, Yet they think it to be real.
Therefore, the left and right arms are honoured, while the breast is the left side; The left and right are honoured, while the breasts are the right side.
And so the teaching is to be selfless.
(Knowing Tao is not like knowing the Tao itself.)
(To know the Tao without knowing the Tao)
The Tao is really profound.
It is like the deep.
Like the deep, it is beautiful.
Like the beautiful, it is not.
Like not being like it, it is therefore entirely without blame or favour.
And so indeed it is the root of all excellent virtue.
Therefore the man who achieves Mystical Virtue
Has no eye for praise or blame;
He abides above all praise and blame.

His left and right legs are given dignity
That they could belong to the left or to the right,

Without wanting his people's good,
Without fearing their wrath,
A man of the Tao's essence

Is not desirous of receiving your own graces.
Is not desirous of being praised for his merit.
The way is not required of him.
He is an image of it, that is all.

And the legs seem to have no position.
Like a fish that cannot stand still.
Things have no notion of honouring or punishing it

The Masters of the Tao do not speak; They seem not to speak. They keep all in their grasp without utterance;Holding all things with hushed-sounding words. They do not shine, but conceal their faces,They rule not loudly but with low tones.By this they do not excite a good deal of laughter; They do not glitter with splendor,Yet offer no sign of their wealth; They order the home but do not pour out force; They maintain the constant but do not boast; They aid but do not beg; They curb but do not suffocate. If they hold fast to this (Tao),Nothing can attain their possession.

Each thing has its own self-esteem, self-respect, self-definition, self-eventuals, self-worship, self-entry to Tao, self-development, self-mastery. These are things that are different from Tao. The tao is a metaphysical truth, but it has nothing to do with the description of a thing. We can divide the world into many categories; and it is then because we have many different kinds of things, that we have things which differ from each other.
How many things are there who know not Tao? The multitude of things who know not Tao know not Tao. They who know the Tao know not that Tao, nor is it Tao that they know not. Their knowing not that Tao, therefore, does not mean knowing; Their not knowing Tao, therefore, does not mean that they know Tao. They who are master of Tao, without exceeding the limits of the Tao, do not long for credit and merit, nor contend for fame and renown.

"In general, it seems, this is the distinction among things under the sky, & yet we say that which is hidden is the space between this and the Tao.
The space between the Tao & this is that which we call
"the deep".
This deep, we say, is the space which we call
"mysterious."
This "mysterious," we say, is the space
"outside the Tao."
The space which we designate as
"outside the Tao" is the space
"substance beyond existence."
So the deep embraces all things; it embraces
"existence"
This can only be attained by non-existence.
The non-existence of this, may be called a wonderful quality.
Such a person is neither created nor destroyed, but having
substance of existence, cannot but become enlightened.
If he has such a "phenomenon," I do not know who he is.
Yet, though he is beyond all danger, he is without any interference or show of desire.
A man of this kind is beyond all danger.
He walks free of all danger, indeed, but if he cannot free himself

We believe the universe to be like a bellows, and then we dare to believe. We dare to speak of heaven and earth. And for that reason people of all walks of life wish to live according to it.
Only if you are self-sufficient, what do you need to do? You live on the earth, the nourishing water of the universe. A living tapestry, and the integral part of all things. To be guided by this water and to keep it alive, all of it. All life, of course, can be the source of life.
Once you have learned how to live sustainably, you can live as an example.
If you are an example to others, are you at all self-absorbed? Not only that, you can get more knowledge by following the example.
So in a word, it is not enough to follow the rules, you also have to keep the example to yourself, the same as in the beginning.

Believe in the unseen and you can master everything.
But say, "I am the sky" and you can give yourself life
And be known for who you are and not defined.

This is the TAO:
When you find your path you can go on your way.

Listening to music is like an attraction of the soul
To know the Tao, you need to be on a ritual
To follow the Way, you must be on a watch
This ritual and the watch are just to make sure that you keep calm
Without clear thought and without talk, you will not go wrong
Like a songbird when it hears music,
Can you hold still and sing?
Can you be clear in thought?
Can you see the big picture?
Can you let go of your desires?
Even though you need to rely on the Tao, you can be no place to offend
Even though you don't understand the Tao,
you can still be the best student
That keeps practicing the Tao, you will no longer offend
Tao is like a baby that needs to breathe,
People need a mother, but she's an elixir for anyone who keeps the Tao in her heart.

It is impossible to describe in words the true nature of Tao.
It is not a simple and direct way of life.
It does not strive for mastery.
It does not justify one's actions.
It is impossible to be evasive.
It is not to be trusted.
Therefore, to be clear-minded is to be aware of the subtleties.
To be alert is to be aware of the more subtle.
To hold to principle is to be free from selfishness and ambition.
To hold to the Way, is to be above and beyond.
Since all beings would benefit from Tao, no one could harm them.
Since nothing in the world is beyond the Tao, no one would fail in his care.
If people are not aware of the Tao, they will feel awkward and awkward.
If they are not clear-sighted, they will feel like mere tools.
If they are not alert, they will feel unwell.
If they do not have the energy to act, they will act with stupidity.
As in the Tao is a baby that cannot yet smile, it should be a part of the Way that it needs a mother.
As Tao is a child that cannot yet breathe, it should be in the Way that it is useless.
When we discard knowledge of the Tao, we no longer need to know about Tao.

To be ordinarily manly is to have no different from the beasts; the child grows to be manly in the next year. He who knows Nature preserves his own natural light, blunts his passions, causes his activities to be smooth and regulated. When he has the face of the common man he becomes dear to him. As in the earliest beginning when the mother of spirits called the nameless was most muddled, but it is through simplicity of soul, and his supreme calm, that he became obscure. So the refined, humble, refined man is not made worthy, nor can he be deprived of his proper place in the world. He is lost, on seeing no reward, so is respected, on seeing no disgrace, so is despised. This is the way the Ancients were. And still they are the purest manifestation of the Tao.

Know the Tao, but do not speak of it.
Rigour not to act from behind,
Grasp your breath with restraint,
Blown away the obscurity of light
And straighten your vital note,
Undangle your tangles.
Let your converse flow to each other.
Accept strangers as guests,
And the doors of his thoughts and his words
Are left wide open.

Not asserting themselves,

You can keep your hands, not your mouth, and open your eyes;
You can straighten your breathing, not out of reflex, and calm your pulse;
You can overcome darkness, and quiet your inner voice;
You can perfect the eye, without any need for equipment;
You can be like a guest in a home, without needing a job, and remain friendly;
Being well-balanced, you can play any sport with people, as well as lovers;
The Tao is quite perfect in your life.

Those who know the Tao do not expound it, they find it contained in their conscious mind. They keep their hands still and their fists do not move, they direct their breathing in order to keep their vital energy into balance; they do not let excess of light come into contact with their own inner self. Being unfeasible in external situations, their inner intelligence is more concentrated than most minds, so they live at peace among all things.
The Tao is perfect in the minds of the virtuous man, only others are deficient in comparison.
Do they not possess the sweet plumage of sensual desire,
Do they not have within themselves the image of the ills of sensuality?
Therefore, if they are possessed of the loftiness of virtue,
Their deepest spirituality may endure.

He may meet with the unworthy guests.
To the greatest of credit he is, it seems, nothing;

The student of nothing is the sage he is.
The teacher is a student of many things;

But all who know it will never need to confess it:
The sage is neither noble nor arrogant,

Neither hostile nor tolerant,

The best are those who are still and quiet; the idle are the silent people. People without opinions are often perverse and contentious. If we don't have opinions about what is right and wrong, how can we be a source of trouble for others?People without opinions have no need to take action, and often do nothing wrong. If we don't have an ulterior motive to action, our actions often are without aim.

The better an action, the more effort remains. The less it takes, the more it yields. The less effort, the greater the loss. But if people abandon and disregard the forced or calculating, how hard it is to hold on to their opinions and knowledge? The people are right, but the revolution remains false. The revolution is just a beginning, and any resistance or confusion will quickly return to the state of chaos. In this confusion, one will lose his thought and intuition.

Three is mild and simple.
Four is adaptable and forceful.

I remain calm and relaxed;
I am detached and objective.
I am detached from acts of selfishness and ambition;

It is due to this merit that I am in possession of a heart that is conformable.

It is with subtle and great simplicity that the ancient sage holds his beliefs and practices:
With great simplicity he keeps his mouth shut,
In his character and behaviour:
With great subtlety he never uses words to talk,
And in his actions he tries to be calm and orderly.
These are the two things that are inferior:
To talk or use words is to pose as evil.
To do the opposite is to seek to be "The Perfect."

Understanding a good person's wisdom is not wisdom. Knowing his flaws is not faults. Knowing his reasons for goodness is not reasons. Knowing his will is not will. These are superficial knowledge and superficial goodness. Goodness is not good, and so is not goodness. It is a common convention among wise people that great goodness is like the Tao. If you do not like that, so what? There is a great Tao in the world. True mystics, not arrogant about their ability, rely on simplicity and hard labor. Though their minds are open and receptive, they maintain humility and quietude. They work without ideas and without concern for the need to justify their conduct. They are natural teachers, not meddlesome teachers, therapists, not therapists who try to take credit. If everyone were equal, no one could contend.
<|endoftext|>
Those who are impartial know the light, yet are unfaltering in their approach. Their subtle dark and penetrating essence brings about stillness and rest in the land.
The Taoist then sets no store by the light, for he looks after the subtle light of darkness, and looks out with impartial and unpretentious guard, in order to preserve his subtle shade. The Sage closes his eyes and sees clearly; and he who is illumined, and in that state, denies himself all respect and esteem.
<|endoftext|>
The profound path is neither used by one who does not know what is to be done. It is not a Tao, but an intuitive intuition. Without knowing that Tao is inexhaustible, he may work diligently without thinking. But he does not give his efforts to anyone but himself. The profundity of the Tao (the Laws of Nature) is lost but not lost, and the mystic simplicity can be followed without bias.

How much better to know than to know what you ought to know,How much worse to not know what you ought to know,How much lighter and more solid to see,How much more glorious to shine in,How much more glorious to shine out in,How much richer to grow,How much more genuine to be,How much brighter to be,How much more precious to be,How much superior to be over it all,How much deeper to be on the threshold of true Truth,How much sharper to know its principles,How much brighter to be aware of its nature,How much more humble to be in the dust-heap of the world,How much more glorious to shine in the foresight of Heaven,How much more genuine to be genuine,How much more to be embraced by Heaven's radiant Word,How much more likely to be produced than destroyed,How much better at shutting out the worldAs the great root on the rootless can be emptied,How good in knowing to shun the one's own wisdom,

Those who love music need not sing also. They know that silence conveys the best, nor does speech only create discord. Still better: it's in the form of silence that silence reveals its best.
The way of the Tao is not pleasant; it makes one want to stay in the background.
Those who delight in it do not like to talk about it, so they think that they don't know. They should be quiet. What they want to say is that what is in their mind is what they think, but their mind must be wrong. Because of this, they cannot be considered to know anything.
Even though they have very clear views of the Way, they do not recognize that it is not like this.
They have a depth of wisdom and are in harmony with Tao, although they are not a devotee of Tao.
They do not believe in Tao and yet they are able to achieve what they are trying to accomplish.
Therefore, in relation to the Way, people of the world are fascinated by its manifestations, but they do not think of themselves as knowing it.
Because of this, they do not feel their well-being enough.
And because of this, they cannot be identified with Tao.
As for those who are possessed with Tao and thus a part of Tao, they are respected in the world.
The people of the world don't consider them insignificant, because of this.
They have perfect understanding and are in harmony with Tao. But they do not try to follow Tao.
They are not aware of Tao's greatness and greatness is not theirs to watch over.
Because of this, they are not part of Tao.
These are their gifts and the people of the world do not make any claims about their role.
They are therefore great.
Without transformation, Tao becomes everlasting.
It comes to you and takes you on a journey of many waters, and its lessons do not fail to clarify your journey and return to the beginning.
To know Tao is to treasure all living things;
And to act with sincerity for humanity,
It is to guard the potential of the natural law,
It is to serve as the enigma of mystery,
To behold it is to smile.
Because of Tao, there is nothing that can rival it.
What is truly great, is that it is not an object of expectations.
Because it is small, it does not attract any attention.
Because it is unknowable, there is no one who

If you can't tell the good from the bad,
Look away from your eyes and look inward to your heart, to the wisdom of nature.
If you can't see the good, why make distinctions?
If you can't see the bad, what do you look for?
If you can't see what you don't see, you can't see what you do see.
When no-one looks away,
He can see everything.
<|endoftext|>
Know when not to look;
With that knowledge are you free from fear.
Under all circumstances,
What you see is the work of God's mind.
Rely on it, and all danger will disappear.
And so then only the clarity of the mind is good.
When you lose it, you see things dark.
When you gain it, you see things bright.
In both, to know this is to be free.
With knowing, you will lose nothing.
You are selfless, and all things benefit you.
It is in this respect that you are at home,
At the heart of the world.
Be calm, be free, be selfless,
And the world will benefit you.
<|endoftext|>
By simply being aware of what one is, without conscious awareness, the universe can be perceived without the use of a description.
Therefore,
one who can perceive is exempt from all danger.
The wise should know to give up seeing what is beyond experience.
One who tries to take advantage of others, loses the only safeguard for the world.
People who look beyond themselves cannot make any real distinctions in the world.
Not discriminating in the world is simply blindness to reality.
If no one sees beyond the ordinary, then what is beyond ordinary is not all that ordinary.
What is not ordinary cannot be other than what it is.
Where there is no distinction, there is nothing that cannot be distinguished.
The true conqueror knows that the common good requires that he attack enemies, that his own state should act as an example, that no one should be left out.
That is why he uses the very great the overcoming danger,
his extreme peace,
And no government should lose the peace he wants in his own state.

Hold fast to the Core
Settle in your center
Without perception
On this mountain face
Direction will be fair and not

Worship ancient kings (literally "behold the One" ), yet never worship them in your heart.Indeed, one who does so conceals his true nature. The more one profuses himself with conventional wisdom, the less will he know his true nature.Loathe things, how degrading! When heaven and earth are created, they cannot be seen, the best examples are nebulous. By non-attachment one may behold their brilliance and thereby learn their inward nature. By detachment one may guard against violence and fear.By being single-minded one may know one's true nature, because no separation is possible. The great masters, for example, cultivate simplicity and do not seek honor, fame, or fortune. They are still happy and contented because they do not seek gain or prestige. They are content with those who are "one," and those who do not seek favor, fame, or fortune are not:
<|endoftext|>
Nourish the fondness of honor; Aye desire will die. Do not be covetous; Keep watch of (the) hidden. The Tao is incomprehensible, but only when you stand still can you see the essence. Meditate on the Tao; Reach still and let it be: Do not judge and do not celebrate. Let neither reason nor words should stir in you, For each day you step forth your Tao shall become clear. Do not linger; let your mind wander, Is is natural, Yet never forsaken.
<|endoftext|>
Always, without thinking, be a follower of the Ancients. Do not seek to show off. If you have a lot of possessions and stuffs you won't know the difference. Live a simple life. Love the world the way it is. Who can get confused on the Way? Let things flow to be present, hold still, and experience the greatness of the Tao. Use it and you'll never make a mess. The old Masters loved the simplicity of life. In their years they helped people to improve and improve to be then share their vast and marvelous wisdom.

Love, but never venerate. If you are a leader, you must not possess much and content,However you will get gold or many carriages, you must remain humble and be like a simple baby. The Way is incomprehensible and only through no-doingOne can see the beauty of the Way.Those who concentrate on Nature are foolish and

Those who know are not loving those who love are not, or in this way not
Not loving is not loving not loving not loving not
Not loving is the source of Being, which is beyond the clinging-attachment and desire.
So: "The Nameless is the Cosmic source."
The Primal Essence.
Greater than both heaven and earth, beyond boundary lines, yet embracing all things.
"Nameless"
Is absolute Lightness, the Gate of Unity.
The universe's last door.
Embrace it; let it come in.
Embrace the way of things and change to the next path.
Difficult and barely tolerable, it can only be achieved through inactivity and ceaseless effort.
Because this Way is the Root of All Things, everything is adapted to it.
Without knowing its source, one will not fail to have depth and clarity of understanding.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows,
Has no need to praise:
Who praises, it is he whose lack of lack.
And he who knows not,
Is ignorant as to the reason.
When we see, it is in the darkness;
When we think, it is in the clarity.
We may see that they are beyond reach,
We may think that they are beyond our reach.
We perceive what is within
and know that nothing can be contained.
Those who can make sense of it are the wise
And make use of the greatest degree of Reason.
They approach it as not-knowing
Obtaining the experience of the next door.
And knowing that we are upon a threshold of wonder
All on our own accord.
Because of the strength of Understanding
Can feel no pain.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows does not wish to be praised. He who is not at all praised wishes to be free from blame.
Therefore, in view of the states of The One:
'So little is the Infinite Light in heaven (which has no borders), and so much is the luminosity which falls upon earth.'
This is why the Elders in the hall are very much aware of 'The Empty Light (blurred and obscured)' and 'The Uneven Light (in the boundary of the luminosity),'
(That is, that of the Absolute in them on the One is the Light and that of the Infinity in them, on the One, and so forth

When I look around me I am shocked at what I see. How ignorant I am. I look for my countryfolk, but I see only bellies and bellies. I see nothing but destruction everywhere. How can my countrymen abide in this?
One who knows is not afraid of letting go. He is not afraid of losing what he has. He is not afraid of tarnishing his credit. He knows how to control the crowd, and how to keep his flock still. It is from this that the Way is the way. One who practices it goes about his daily business without doing anything that others think is strange.
If you practice it, you will find nothing else to do. If you are afraid of losing what you have, you will never do any harm. If you are afraid of being lost, you will not be parted with.
You will not stumble, and you will be sure to find your way home.
Eternal truth flows from eternal laughter.
<|endoftext|>
When one tries to see and do one has no place to stay.
When one tries to remain and do one has no place to go.
In order to stay in the world there must be men who know how to live and men who know how to act.
The things must be there; let the people act.
And then things will be arranged according to the law of natural things.
In order to be one with the world one must know how to know the world.
If one doesn't know the law of Nature then the law is in conflict with nature.
If one knows it, then there is nothing different from Nature.
He who knows the law of Nature is not contentious or selfish; he is free from all guilt or disgrace.
When the time comes to act, he acts with kindness.
He is one with the world.
If one knows the Way then there is nothing unnecessary to be done.
If one does not know the Way, then there is nothing that one should wish to have done.
Knowing the Way, one can make no use of actions that others should think are unfavorable.
A wise person will not prize the praise or the blame.
Therefore, when everything is done one has nothing to do but to watch for the signs.
<|endoftext|>
If you want to view the world; you must stay away.
If you want to see and be
======================================== SAMPLE 7 ========================================
Taoist scholars have carved a picture of why people choose to live the way they do. That is because of Tao. Tao works everywhere, and nowhere. It works all the time, and nowhere.
The way we follow Tao does not seem as alluring as following people who see things as "big" or "white" or "tall". It is not as bright as the light coming from the sun.
Being merely as we are, we are the gate to what is unimaginable.
Yet we are the gate to all things. Without naming it, we are the opening to all.
It is not what we see that we cherish, but what we lose.
The Tao is always with us. It is present everywhere.
It is always the gateway to everything.
<|endoftext|>
In the Valley of the World
When Tao's Way is on its way
I fear its subtlety as if I were there
For a person in the Valley of the World
Prefers
the bright and the bright
Because
it can also be in the Valley of the World
The person who prefers bright
for
the person who prefers low
says he has no light in the Valley
Likewise, he who loves
the bright and the bright
for the person who loves low
takes away his light in the Valley
Yet Tao can also
bring light
from other places
And can also return
light to the Valley
And can also make all things return
to the Tao.
Since it is the Way
it does not lose a thread and all things return to it
(Tao)
No other thread is tied
And nothing is lost.
The Way
Is everywhere, and no one can stay away
From Tao's Tao.
No one can stay away from Tao's way.
<|endoftext|>
Being way
is like using a sledgehammer
It is indeed a sound tool
But it needs to be hammered again
One who is afraid of it
must make it less
One who has a thing to hold on to
Must try to go with the flow
For once it is dropped you are left without
You cannot hold it
You can't let go
Tao can be your closing gate
======================================== SAMPLE 8 ========================================
The great heavens were like a house,
The great rocks were like a rope,
The great fonts were like tools,
The great slaves were like laboring people.
So, when we have learned to appreciate our teachers
And cherish the teachers' influence
The difference between ordinary and great things becomes blurred.
We see with clarity now the great things as something lacking,
Like what the rest of creation lacks.
The great teachers teach the lesser ones too
To become the lesson for the master;
They are themselves more than lessons,
They teach lessons of their own accord.
<|endoftext|>
The common people are for ever like visiting Heaven on their back,
The Great is like their carriage.
Great rivers are like using rope to mend the boat.
Great tools are like the implements of the male and female,
The Great host is like a dwelling.
Therefore when we benefit people
we employ what is natural.
When we benefit men
we employ what is useful.
When we benefit things, we use what is natural.
Therefore we are less than worthless when we are without pride.
Therefore we are valued in the world
by following the example of the wise.
<|endoftext|>
To be surrounded by the cosmic Mother is to resemble Earth.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Father is to resemble Heaven.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Mother is to be like a woman.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Father is to resemble a human being.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Mother is to be like a developing organism.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Mother is to be like an infant.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Mother is to be like a working soul.
To be surrounded by the cosmic Father is to be like a Source.
Therefore, those who embrace simplicity appear similar to Nature.
Those who embrace great honour appear similar to heaven.
Those who embrace great substance appear similar to the human body.
Those who embrace great action appear similar to the actions of the invisible.
Therefore, those who benefit others appear similar to the benefactor.
Those who benefit men appear similar to the benefactor's follower.
Those who benefit things appear similar to the benefactor's creation.
Therefore, those who embrace the One appear similar to the One.
They are similar to the One, yet different from that which is with them
======================================== SAMPLE 9 ========================================
Dao governs things and doesn't strive for greatness; therefore, one who knows how to behave behaves like Dao does. When someone sets their mind to anything, it has to be done with care. With a plan in place, he can find security in whatever he does. Without a plan, he will feel threatened, like a fish out of water in the watery sea. When he sets his mind on accomplishment, he has to go through some thought process. When he sets up a tower, he must think carefully about their angles and work as hard as possible to make them hold up. When one sets up a bar, one must stay on the ground, afraid that something might fall. He must have a purpose in his life, so that he may observe it. Then he must stay quiet, and be content, and be aware of what is happening.
When I see Tao flowing, I can't help it. When I see Tao coming, I'd like to follow it.
(A Long pause.)
As for the Tao, it does not do what it wants:So it cannot be grasped. So, one who understands the Tao understands the Eternal. It's like everything happens and we are aware of all it happens to.So, we're in touch with the world:We are aware of its events, and we also respond as much as possible. In this way, we can both embrace the Eternal Tao.If we can accept this and call it Tao, it is a sincere but without intention. If we can regard it as something real, it is something which seems real to us, not something which really exists. It happens to be real, it is like the Universe, which itself is the Eternal Tao, or something else in an endless series of genuine appearances, a series of impossibilities. It's something which is constantly changing, and we can't take it for granted. If you do, you will end up being mired in desire. When the Tao is in the flow, the mind is at rest, the heart is filled with peace, the intellect is even more responsive than it used to be. Nothing is against that. That is simply being in the flow, remembering all happensings, feeling the change and paying homage to the Tao. It is the following way of being in the flow: one is both awake and aware, but not wanting to notice. One is intelligent and has clarity of mind, but not wanting to dwell in it.One is faithful and has faithfulness,
======================================== SAMPLE 10 ========================================
How can I proclaim Something that is not apparent? How can I declare Something that has no apparent nature?
This is the way to declare something hidden: we are in the middle of formless essence, and formlessness is hidden. From the silent and the subtle we can perceive the great in formless essence; from the dark and the light we can see the source of formless essence. In this way form and action can be seen and said, but they can be kept in the domain of subtle essence.
Only when you have no desire to avoid all being, can you become tranquil and free of worries.
<|endoftext|>
When you know this:
and hold to it:
hears sound subtle.
When you do it:
hearing sound clear.
When you hear, see.
When you see, know.
So you can perceive all that is.
If you don't know
and hold to this:
you have no perception.
So: you see all sides.
You are aware of all forms.
But know nothing of what is inside.
But since you do not control it,
you can act freely, without fearing anything.
<|endoftext|>
When you know the Tao (the Laws of the Universe) and hold fast to it, then there is no sound, no music, no soundless dust, nothing that can be spoken of, and nothing that can be named. Inferior sounds of unseen things are still
(our ignorance). When music and dust arise they emerge. As they are still they are still. When they hear you can feel the sound
(don't leave it out). As they breathe you can see them. And because they have not known it are within them images. Within them images are images
(we don't know it). But it is the image of Nature which teaches them how to become aware of the bright bright light
of these situations, how to make their being known
(it is the point of the Tao which we do not know) and how to become aware of the images (the point of the Tao which we know). If the idea of Non-Existence does not be a problem we can in all ways, in speech and in actions, describe, on the level of nature, things as they are, or formless.

To know the truth
