Where do you draw the lines that divide the white and the black? Why are white and black confused? Why is the distinction of light and darkness so profound? The Tao in its purest form, the Te, is infinite, and cannot be measured. Whoever possesses the Tao within himself yet holds it with a manly, firm heart cannot understand the limitless. A man with only that character of self-tao and heart is no longer in the Tao and therefore cannot be benefited. He who possesses the Tao, is certainly in the Way. The chief which loves well will win the world. The chief which laughs heartily at himself will be first in the world. Love always wins, and laughter will soon become trite. This is called self-discipline, which is profound. This is what is called "the Tao" and "the Mother." Therefore those who live long, and remain full, and have constant motion, and thrive, and don't fear death, are most alive, and alive indeed, because they have kept constant self-discipline.

Heaven and Earth embody the potential of a newborn child. The Dao and its "virtues" is like a soundless song. The Way and its forces are like the sound of words that are not yet complete. The things of the world (the Dao) have their own colors and tones. The Way generates neither good nor bad, nor is it ever clear, nor does it change. All things seek life from it, and it does not harm them. The Tao is constant, unchanging, and formless. The next in its nature is called primordial essence. Nature is extremely simple. How can its manifestations be embellished? How can male and female be confused for each other? How can the Earth be crooked? What is meant by "Tao" is something that gives birth, creates. Things are born, then disappear, but what does that mean? It means that things are born, then disappear, then appear again. All beings appear at first, then disappear. Creatures appear at first, then vanish. Men appear at first, then disappear. Hence the way of nature means that things are born, then disappear. Things are born, then appear. Then disappear. Creatures appear at once, then disappear. Men appear at once, then disappear. Hence, nature means that things are born, then appear.

It is said that DAO in the Tao achieves wondrous reduction. For, in Dao, no-thing is confused. Thus: No-thing has no name; It is the eternal. No-thing is great; It is everlasting; No-thing is at rest; It is immortal; No-thing is in motion; It is eternal; Hence it has a body; The body is born; It is given life; It quits; Hence it is long; From it a kingdom arose; From it a country was established; From it a nation was created.

The Laws of Infinity cause an endless reduction.This Infinite Creation takes no names.All Its Resembles the Infinite Creation.Everything is named after what it is.It can never be named.That is why it is always and ever.This is the Tao of the Laws of Infinity. The Tao of the Infinity:Endless reduction.Becomes the source of all form.Becomes the root of all things.Desires nothing.Thus its existence is eternal.Becomes the house of all creation.Becomes the root of all things.Desires nothing.Thus its existence is perpetual.Becoming a house makes it eternal.Becoming a root gives them that which can be rooted.From that the Tao is eternal.Becoming a root gives them the ability to come into being.From that the Tao is eternal.

Tao, the way, the Way of Infinity, Desires nothing. It does not have name. From the point of view of Dao: No Person. That is why it can name everything.

The Mysterious, Like the Life Eternal,is like a blossoming plum (flowering in the spring).These things never yield, thus do they flourish (in the sky).Numerous creatures, in their flight, cannot approach (them).Wild animals, being scared, cannot seize (them).Birds, being startled, cannot seize (them).The form of the flower may be reduced to bones, but its soul is so soft, that it can recoil.Nourished by vegetation, its lungs expand;but its bones undergo an exhalation.Who can hear its voice, though his heart is so pure and unprejudiced, and his vital process so tranquil?Therefore by wise fulfillment of life, he gets his life and rest,free from grief, stress, or worry,he may at rest after the whole circle, whatever he is.

The Non-Knowing is like the lasting Tao.It leaves no trace of itself,and yet is ever fertile.Even when the ground is empty it will be nourished.Inferior creatures must leave,and the flower will bloom.After all, those with a greater number of members will succeed.That which is great in the world will come to grief.If the flower is no longer flowering,it will die.If you give nourishment to a flower and it does not produce a flower,it will weep.If you give nourishment to the unripe fruit and it is not produced,you will weep.Having all this you will find that you have enough;and that is the key to the Tao.When you accept life you find peace.

As the presence of a Sage is from his being whole, so is the virtue that he possesses. From his wholeness, the virtue arises.As for the nature of the virtue, it cannot be known, because it is not self-conscious. Though it may differ from the simplicity of the ancestor, it is for the reason of this that the one is called without parts. The nature of the ancestor is at once mysterious and simple; though it may differ from the simplicity of the imageless old world, it is called by no name. It may have been born with even the greatest manifestations, yet the one that first became simple has itself gone on to become complex. Knowing the time when the simplicity of simplicity was as old as the mother that makes herself simple is to know that time itself has

Thirty square feet of dirt can't be compared to wood chips.
Let's see how mother can do with it.
Thirty square feet of wood chips is just a newborn.
Thirty square feet of dirt cannot be compared to mother.

It's uncarved wood chips that can't be removed.
Nature makes it grow with effort and can't be shaped.
It can't be shredded with a knife.

It is the core of a newborn child.

Without resentment, without argument, without strife,
Creating nothing new.
Its work is untiring,

To know what was in the jar, is to have a body.
Being whole, it is a nest.
As a child, it is bright.
As an infant, it is innocent.
As an infant, it can listen.
As an elder, it has vigor.
As an elder, it is strong.
As an older man, his strength is natural.
As an old age brings maturity, maturity comes to an end.
When the master lets go of what is natural, his strength diminishes.
It is because he let go of what is natural that his true essence is lost.

They are formed into a physical body.
How they develop?
They mingle with each other,
Then become multitudes.

True music begins when the baby makes its first sound. Musicians play a constant course of music so the strings stay on and are not overtaxed, so they can sound beautiful, the sound is somehow solid, rhythmic, yet not heavy, which, if the strings weren't sharp, you'd never be able to play them. Long ago, humans became instinctive, going, hatching, taking shape, washing their own breasts, becoming pregnant. When the day comes that you want to leave your shell, you look for a baby shell. On that day, you've got to really come alive. Have your conscious body stir, you need to erupt. Everything at one with the oneness of TAO. Everything at one with this love of being alive. Then you might see the light. On that day, there will be no problems.

For harmony is in the Valley streams,And harmony is in the hearth of the belly,And thus is the year long.It will not last long without a song;For the song and the stomach are bound together in harmony. The sound of the timpaniAt last has to be held in Silence,And perhaps sound unaltered by the seasons.In music there are varieties of tones,One that may be the farthest from nature;The note that may be the longest from eternity;One that may be the hardest of hardest;One that may be the least of the least;One that may be the loudest of the loudest.When music begins,You can never stop the sound.But stop the sound and it dies. Whoever holds the Tao does not wish to be feared. If the people are scared of him, his confidence in them will begin to weaken.
He does not strive to win respect for himself. He has nothing to gain by concealing himself from people. When he does not live up to his ambition, people will regard him as disgracing himself.

Some people feel very happy, because they know that they can have happiness. Others experience happiness only because they love themselves. Still others experience happiness only because they are free. Others experience joy only because they are harmed. Then again they are defeated by themselves. You will lose to an opponent. He may lose his sharp weapons. But happiness will always follow to you the most. Have a way of knowing, which you enjoy in yourself. And can live your own life. And to know this, cannot be to be content with any other life. He who knows this will experience the life of the purest bliss.

Some people find it difficult to hold on to their joy. Some people feel great satisfaction. Some people are overwhelmed. Some people feel really happy. Some people feel sad. Some people have different desires. Some people are mired in exhaustion.
The wise do not let their minds become rigid. Without moving, they experience life joyfully. Without thoughts, they can have happiness. Without acting, they can be free. Without consciousness, they are whole. Without agitation, they have non-effort. Without conflict, they are free from conflict. Without the passion of experience, their passions seem to dissipate. If men fear to be free from fear, They will never be disturbed by force, Mystery and pain will never set them aflame.The crow hears the beat of an axe, The blackbird hears its wake; The rodent hears its note; The animal hears its ravings. We try to control them with words, But they cannot but bristle; We try to restrain them with arms, But they will never subdue; We try to energise them with charms, But they will refuse us their services; We try to move them with persuasion, But they refuse all claims; We try to persuade them, But they will not beget; We try to make them feel, But their hearts will be clouded with the mixture of fear and bewilderment; We cannot separate the excitement from the vital power, Which, once agitated, will again be exhausted. For tension and perplexity are situations of fear, And therefore need fear-busting remedies. Forget: trouble-makers and tension; Without conscious effort, tend to excite them, But they are bound by the virtue of timeliness. In right thought, the danger is forever postponed. What is the fullness that has no limit?
Call it an emptiness.
Call it a muddy and muddy river.
Call it the ocean.
Call it an empty vessel.
Call it an idea that can't be fulfilled.
Call it an empty mind.
Call it delusion.
Call it unsoundness.

It is not the being, it is the infinite.
It is not being, it is all-encompassing.
It is not being, it is unlimited.

The fullness is to be achieved: the dwelling place for all things.
The vacant is to be found: the place to which all things turn to be born.
The deep seems to find a way to be deep;
the void seems to find a way to be deep.
The Mind: in all its action, yet it keeps to this condition: it finds in all that it does no cause it pain or trouble;
in all that it does, yet it does nothing that it is not very useful;
in all that it does, yet it gives with power and justice;
in all that it does, yet it lets no one go untried;
in all that it does, yet it is at peace and undisturbed:
it appears as if it were not here at all,
and yet it is there for all the world.
Heaven is the treasure that the mind lodges within;
the DAO is its goal.

What is essential for movement, yet totally deficient in functioning, is the Ten Thousand Things. So profound are the inner essences in a being, that I contemplate them without vacancy. How all beings coalesce into one supernal creative power, its manifestations are without variation, and even when my notions are scanty, I deem it obvious. Mold of Tao seems rigid and inflexible, but such constancy may be due to no obstruction. Does a fool's speech seem muddy? Since when we cease to inquire what is so do we so easily return to what is so? Its embrace is constancy; its embrace does not allow of disorder. Its embrace the leaders always retain; its embrace of all tranquility never fails to bring them mutual joy. This one form is in surety of virtue, its shape true, its pairing truly perfect, its sustenance real. As regards voice we say it is, as regards image we say it is, and as regards language we say it is the very same in name as when spoken. -When ancient rite had been perfected, then vests within man brought him enlightenment. Now vests all enlightenment within man: all clarity he is not free from difficulties. Having no occasion for restraint, he never reckons its parts. Having no issues which in him arise, he never drifts from his own places. He attains enlightenment without seeing the face of things. If he dares not see the man of Tao, if he does not see the being of the Tao, and if he claims to comprehend the Being of the Tao, that too has its own instru- ments, - and its own limits.

The body is eternal and complete, but unable to give life. This is the capacity of the intelligent, which can be understood and named. Even the few and insignificant things under heaven come together in the body, and it is like rolling up sleeves. The intelligent one is not charged with the body. In being as he is he avoids mistakes, and considers the one as well as the other. Knowing that the things are one in essence he can see through. He does not venture to make his opinions known. He keeps quiet, and allows no nonsense to enter. If he discards his opinions, he finds no issues to contend with. In being present to all things, he can love the people. If he does not love them, they remain of their own accord.

This is why leaders should reduce their energy. A father is satisfied when his child is not threatened. If there are not any complications, even innocent whores can become sinners. But even minor differences can cause a war. Calm and forbearance are the rules for a peaceful movement. One never acts without clear reason, regardless of what happens. And things become spontaneous, without any intention. Since they do not respond to him, he can never get tired of them. If he knows he must act in order to protect his people, he cannot overestimate his capacity to do so. He sees his actions are wise, not selfish. He never gets the feeling of gratification. After all, he is choosing a life. And that is what the universe values, not his possession.

He regards the stillness in which he is anchored, the calm for which he lays down his life, as the source from which comes all the action of the mind. Whenever the mind runs into perplexity it is wise to be still, to be calm. The most instinctual passion is grief. The ten thousand things with ten thousand kinds have sharp claws; your state is peaceful; the Tao that has never been mixed with it goes forward; you become your nature. <|endoftext|>
Those who are virtuous are their successes.Everyone follows the rules.But though rules may be part of the model, none of them follows.A virtuous man always knows when to stop and when to start.And though rules are well recognized, this does not mean that the rules are true.Because they do not know when to stop, they never know when to start.

He who is virtuous is the sole source of the world;and all things abide by him.But in him everything changes;by virtue of him all things go;and in him they stay still.Heaven and earth, being changeable, make him the model of them;for by virtue of him all things are like him.He who knows how to follow the worldBut will neither see what's in front nor blow a breeze into it will be master of the world.For when he puts himself outside the world,he hardly knows what to do.And to know what to do is to be master of the world.What he knows cannot be known by himself.This knowledge he is going to retain until the end of his days.Because he knows what to do, he can devote himself to his work.For all things have been made by the master before and after,hearkening to their natural state.

Discoverers of Heaven and Earth know little of it, Yet powerful leaders are so successful That the mere knowing may be fatal.The tao of heaven and earth is so smooth that it cannot be evoked, and the lowest creatures cannot be seen.The highest heaven is so hot that its natures cannot be 'felt', and the lowest ground cannot be 'seen'.Thus the mighty wield their power sparingly, And avoid sharp words And barely utter a sound.They use it constantly; for this reason nothing is left and nothing dies.They are that which is nameless and unknown, And that which gives birth.They are that which is old, and so yet keeps on coming.They are that which seeks good, and uses evil.They are that which lays hold on nature, and is overcome by the forces of nature.They are that which delights in vegetation, and suffers no plant growth.All under Heaven prefer one over the other. They take the one as the common ground and the other the separate circumstance. They have the wisdom to deal with their process.But understanding this process is knowledge of the Principle, and knowledge of the Principle is non-different.The first is quite old, and after that the latter; So the former is the limit, And the latter is the root.To treat the former as the source is to be the cause of the latter, To regard the latter as the root is to be defeated.This is called sowing within the unity, And thus seeing growth.This is called taking action and not remaining silent. This is called being ancient and not new.To perceive old is to know the truth,To be knowledgeable about the truth is to be on the path of the Way.Such recognition is called wisdom. The wise make use of what has arisen, And to not tarry. They take the lighter and the move away from the heavier, And take the lighter and leave the heavier. This is called 'struggle with nothing.'In this Way, the lesson of life and the lessons of death differ little. The one may be a lesson of life And the other one of death.

In antiquity, there were people who got their knowledge from hard learning, but the world has been enlightened and ever since then we've all been enlightened. Goodness and Beauty are one with goodness. Hence the Wise Person sees them both equally; a bird of the heavens that flies over the Capricorn looks down upon the Beauty and Goodness; a polar whirlwind that cleaves to the Earth and the Brambles looks down upon the Goodness. Bad men, indeed, can be feared by Goodness; yet Goodness can endure on it's own. Bad men, too, can be feared by the Goodness; but the Goodness can endure on it's own. And then the Wise Person, knowing and knowing, 'horns' in the breath and pushes, and it doesn't sound. And it is not inaudible, it never boomed, and it rolls on forever without grow. It rolls with its own growth and it never dies. And it is no different from Heavenly Virtue and its Direction. The Direction is one, and the Virtue, and the Direction, and all one,
<|endoftext|>
We call them Beauty, and goodness, and fairness. Some call them God, and a wise man holds the one. A whirlwind that cleaves to the earth falls low on goodness.A forebear that falls low on goodness makes the Wise Man afraid.A rabid animal that cleaves to the earth can kill a man; but no Wise Man should lose the forebear and fly away.What does it mean, "Not-self"?How, when to Heavens it is: Fairness, goodness, and fairness. This is enough for heaven, and that's enough for heaven. If we do not know the highest goodness, how can heaven find it?And if the Wise Person does not know to remain with the highest goodness, how could it fail?What does it mean, "The way to the Tao" ?How, when to Heaven it is, well there is Heaven, and Tao is the way of Heaven and Tao is the way of Tao.

Heavenly Virtue and Tao are one, the One.The word "virtue" is not an adequate word.As Heavenly Virtue lacks words, it is in accord with Tao.The Dark and Soft have Virtue, the Dark and Soft are called Evil.The Master does not see the opposite:Dark and Soft have Virtue,The Dark and Soft are called Evil.Therefore,The Master is not a part of the one, therefore the One.On earth he acts virtuously,virt

The master of tai che cannot be compared with man, though even one's mere actions can make a person appear like a thing. The creatures are rejected, the marshes are swollen, the whirlwinds rend under its glare. It does not become clotted; its bones are hard; its scales are soft; it does not yet realize itself; its mouth opens only once; its nervous system is delicate; it cannot gradually mature; it is stubborn, and it does not think. It does not make its life, and yet it is preserved. Like a newborn infant, it has no spirit. It has no talent, and therefore its all is natural. If you dare to take it as your own, you will die.

One who is a Tao master cannot be compared to the Tao,Though he may in his actions appear like a thing of itself,Being a thing of itself does not beget in him a likeness.It is impossible for it to become like a thing that has not yet grown.For this reason, it grasps it by its heel and grinds it with its tool;It is not proud, nor self-controlled;It cannot be masterful;And as it tries to become master,It never seems to grasp the right way to do so.All this is bad for it.It rots away, and is destroyed.But it will grow old, and then it will grow old again.When it is old it has lost all integrity.Thus it has insight,And has followed its nature.It can preserve everything;It can grow, and flower.Only it can stand firm and strong.Only it can think.Only it can hold the breath.Only it can breathe.Only it can see.Only it can let go.Only it can eat.Only it can think.Only it can let go.Only it is able to breathe.Only it is capable of growth.Only it has no need to be exercised.Only it is free from desire.Only it is clear-sighted.Only it is ancient.Therefore it is superior to all things.All that is superior to all things goes out of it.And in that it is also inferior.Thus it is clearest;Truth is the jewel of all wisdom,And causes the master to grasp the glorious Tao.This is because it has insight into the TaoThat is itself the greatest wisdom.Having truly grasped the Tao, He is capable of protecting all

True virtue goes far.All things go.It runs, it skips, it fears.How calm!How peaceful!How pure!It stands firm, it falls.It has no sharp spots,It is pliable,it has no torsion.It has no bones,No sinews,No marrow.No cord is pulled,No flavor.No breath comes forth,No life has gone on.Never rises, never falls,It has no root,It has no beginning.It goes forth without forcing,It laughs without screaming.Because it doesn't need to breathe it laughs as always.Therefore, the virtuous hold fast to the Tao.They guard it; they guard their breath.They guard their spirits.They guard their minds.They guard the Tao.They grasp the material world without fist.They grasp the Earth without fist.They grasp the materials without fist.They grab the forces without fist.They can't find their roots.They are frail and fall.

The enlightened person, all the followers of heaven: Exalted, Superior, Supreme.Weak-Ended, or bent: Wild beasts of old not afraid to rip its body away.The marrow-tight and the hard-textured, or the spinnable, nor the mouldy nor the full: them neither! No signs, nor ugliness, nor the perennial.It is shaped without filling or closing, or trying, then it expands; rolling up and down, or rolling up and down, like the wind, it does not fade or blow out; when it is put to the tongue it becomes small, its owner weeps; it returns to the home, to the fountain of Teh, but of long life and great life, without having to use its power.Therefore, the person of the Tao benefits all under heaven, his essence remaining whole.If he is thin, then he benefits all under heaven, and though the external stillness be not repressed, he neither becomes infantile, nor does he grow old. Since he knows nothing or loses his principles, then he is adapted to the mode of life of the Tao. He keeps the outer in order to retain the inner. He regards it as a son, and a teacher. Because he is subtle, the external is not without power. Because he has no desire, he is harmonious and affects all under heaven. From that day the doctrine of the Tao can endure. No

When you know what is full and what is worn, you know what is advance. Being, by not going, you have avoided troubles. Knowing what is ahead and avoiding troubles, you get the insight. This is called cleverness and it is the sense of returning. Being the spirit of Tao, you know the eternal; this is called auspiciousness. Being the spirit of Tao, you can now see the way forward. High Virtue consists in not being jealous, and this does not cost Virtue (Virtue of Virtue) a quarter. In the realm of hunting-birds this is called having great talent for observing their rites, in other words that their skill in knowing their rites is very great. In hunting-birds some of them are cunning as to the place of their hunting-bird, some of them are sharper than others, some are more agile than others, all of them are not content to be their guests. Being cunning in their hunting-bird or sharp-necked as to their place of residence, they are not content to be their guests. In spite of themselves, they have been made glad by being made glad by one another; for from the existence of one they become restless, by the existence of the other they become riled. Those who are restless become excited in the same manner that others become excited, and the one too becomes confused. Everyone is born with an infantile mind. We seek certainty through confusion. When opposites are made up, they give rise to life and then death. This is the mystery of harmony. In order to let one's consciousness be active, one must let oneself go. When one is disordered, one must let oneself go. In order to manifest what one is conceiving, one must let oneself go. There is an eternal truth of darkness, but when one is awakened to its radiance, one is saved. When we become subject to reality, we can be clear-eyed. It is proper to let one's consciousness alone, and receive life's truth. When we stop, and become aware of the moment, this is wisdom. In order to be the instrument of change, one must show no signs of being the instrument. Thus, "Acceptance is by means of refusal." This way you are saved.

The Way is like children and a person with no talent is as good as an infant;he who has many talents will be as dull as a piece of jade;wandering animals and dark-envisioned people will never pounce upon him;good artists will not create them.the bones will be strong,the muscles weak,the mouth wide,the breath steady,the eyes bright.A wise person walks about,causing himself no trouble.The word of the people will be good and the one true word will prevail.The wise person is great and has ten thousand things to deal with,and therefore he does not want to be great.He can control himself, and the turmoil will go away.A wise person does not depend on others, and when no one responds,he has no choice.The single virtue is the unity of self, and that is the word that rules.The wise man goes forward, while others still remain behind him.He is neither arrogant nor proud.He has faith in the Tao and when his confidence is betrayed,there is no one left to trust.In choosing his career, he makes a return.The following is the way to the Tao:The way is eternal;He who is not who has the Tao is lost;The things in the world are turned to dust, and no one stands behind them.Thus, the wise leader does not display himself, and thus has the right to be famous.Not to display oneself is not right.The Tao is the root of all that is. A wise man accepts the Tao and makes his own mind.When the Tao is not in him, there is no reason to trust him;He attends to people's needs and sets a high standard for them.When all people are at ease, he is as open as the sea.He is humble, trusting his own talents.If the Tao is not in him, the mind becomes muddled.A wise man sets a limit to the mind; when no one follows this limit, he is open to error.The Tao is eternal, and it is impossible to abandon. A man who knows this does not flaunt himself, and thus his pride can be despised.Knowing this, he does not falter; by acting, no one else can.In choosing his life, he makes a return.It is the Eternal Way, and the Tao to which you belong, you must return to.

There is a type of mother of Teh (Genius), who would never damage the infant in order to nurture it. The most poisonous insects will not harm it. Terrible beasts will not attack it. Wild creatures will not attack it. Because the child has no need to protect it, it will not suffer harm. Thus, the intelligent people live in harmony with nature, without tampering with it. They neither meddle nor tamper with it. What is against nature will die as nature. They live in a Tao that expresses what is subtle, and when it is finished, they take it back and return to an object of fear. They don't interfere with anything, so they create order. What creates disorder dies young.

The gentle man, being a mother, will never kill,He will not hurt the baby,And neither will any of the wild animals nor the wild insects.He will not take advantage of it.The infant will be thus protected and, because of that,He will not die young.Therefore, the man of serenity dwells in the pure inner life,When she rules, there is no making noise,When she rules, nothing is done.When she rules, there is nothing to do.When she rules, the children grow up: and then they are taken away.The man of serenity, being a master of words, has no need for rules, but dwells in the infinite.He himself is free, without anyone having the slightest command to him,And when something ends, he returns to the next state of all,Where nothing is wrong.He lives by the TAO of non-doing, and never slips away from that.That is how he fulfills his need to act,How is his life full of joy.That is how he becomes enlightened.Therefore he is never distraught.

How much less is ignorance!Pleasant things exist only because they are hard to get; and when they are hard to get, they are not unpleasant.Pleasant things exist only because they have not been resented; and when they have not been resented, they are not pleasant.These two become one if one feels their mutual essence, and one finds his activity consistent with the Tao.The person who knows how to function in accordance with the Tao finds himself merged with the Tao.In the ability of such unity the soul attains the recognition of the Tao. In the ability of such recognition, the soul attains the certainty of the manifestation of the great.

It is a given that the man of Tao is humane, and the man of Teh is humane, and that both of them live among the lowly creatures. How, then, do these exist among men? It is because of their being in opposition to mankind; in opposition to the evil life. Hence, Nature has it that all things are raised up, and all things are raised up in resistance against bad things. It is only when those things oppose them that they are without force.

He sees that what is missing is not Tao.
What is lacking in Tao is not to be criticized.
What is missing in Tao is not to be criticized.
Whoever knows Tao does not need to be criticized.
Whoever has Tao is not without life, and so he does not die of old age.
Without valuing life, one is eternal.
Without valuing life, one is at the very center of the universe, and so is at the root of all creation.
Without valuing creation, one is powerful and agile.
At the same time, one's heart is full of life.
One's body is full of vitality.
One's mind is full of wisdom.
This is because, when you are content to be on the inside, you are at the center of the universe; when you are content to be on the outside, you are at the root of the universe.
Tao is a mother.
Who is content with it, knows what is hidden.
Who is not content, knows what is solid.
To know the mother is to know the light.
To know the light is to know the original.
To know the original is to be truly enlightened.
Whoever is not enlightened is like an animal, and thus defies natural law.
Whoever is not defiled, is free from perversion.

A wise man knows what others think and how they behave.He makes his words appear to be coherent, his deeds so strong that he conveys what he means without so much as seeming sincere.He follows his heart, but does not rely on it.He employs reason, but never expects to understand it.He acts, but not for the sake of reward.He is kind, and not harsh.He conducts affairs, but not for the sake of power.But if he had the ability, he would take his resources where they belong, or that of the valley, and make no hasty decisions, nor try to make a profit out of them.This is why a wise man aims at perfect honesty; and for this he is known as Wise One.The strongest words end in feeble sincerity; the strongest deeds begin with clumsy effort; and the strongest actions begin with slow, deliberate ones.From the time that action begins, it becomes slow.From the time that action ends, it becomes swift.This means, by going slowly, one can accomplish his goals.When he is confused, he will be at rest.Therefore he comes down to the natural state, the dao of one whose heart is solid and clear.He will say things in an indifferent manner, and he will conduct affairs without taking sides.A sage moves at the sharp end of the razor, so to speak, and his actions are subtle. Because he never flaunts himself, he is respected. Because he does not style himself self-important, he becomes known throughout the world as Wise One.He knows that he must live by the DAO; and he will not try to benefit himself.When his actions fall short of the purpose, they are natural.

She is able to be to the world, but the world is also able to be to herself. The world is able to be able of each other, but the world is also able to be to herself. Attaining that ideal which constitutes the condition of the living Being you for ever following the rule of the Laws of Nature,Being as gentle and receptive as a child, can ever be at your service.Therefore a military commander, without ado, will use a child, a wild beast, or a ferocious creature; that is the way of nature.
The state, as the original creator, is one of being: Being as a child. Being as a wild beast. Being as a ferocious creature. Being as when it is before the shining morning. Attaining to this is what is the mark of the person who has retained this principle. When this is lost, what is the effect? A military commander can be properly acted upon but will never be able to suppress the people. Now the military commander is always above his people, and he is only right for the officers. If the officers are not, or dare not be, in harmony, they produce others to act. The military commander will serve his ruler, but the latter will never be compelled to regard him as a lieutenant-general. This suggests that an inferior relation may serve the general, while a higher one is the proper condition for him. I cannot see how a military commander and the lieutenant-general could ever be like each other. I am not aware how a lieutenant-general should so differ from his superior officer. This is precisely why the subordinate should act.

Its development does not arrive in its very birth, but its growth is hidden;
Its contractions are mild and its breathing is calm;
Its breasts are full but its breath is sure;
Its vital strength is inexhaustible, yet it does not yet act,
But remains still, its mind is impenetrable,
And, although it has knowledge, it hardly knows it's own secret;
Because it is undisturbed and tranquil it does not depart,

It takes the form of an image, because it is so subtle. It gives birth to myriad beings because it is so small.
It is as good at blocking off wind as it is at stretching out air.

He who follows the Tao, will never miss a opportunity to grasp for it. He who possesses it will return, when he has mastered it. The image of the infant is easily seized. The ten thousand creatures, even the largest wild beasts, can hardly drive them back. Even the most rabid bear cannot possess it. Only in the slightest degree can he overcome it. In his feeble capacity for conscious effort, does it constantly blossom and recover. The ten thousand male and female shall be gathered from one to another; but they must remain at rest for the performance of the sacred act. What is sacred is capable of being perfected; and, when the sacred work is finished, there will be renewal. The utmost devotion cannot be satisfied with late-theorizing and insufficient effort. Such constitutes depravity of thought.Therefore, he who has completed his spiritual mission, and in completing this earthly life, has found a purpose in life after death. It's said there is an even way to live and an odd way to die. The way to Tao is known only to those who will practice it, or hold to it and reap the benefits of it. Those who embrace Tao naturally do not get too excited about it. Wild animals don't dare approach them, even the barks of bison won't get close to them. The unripe fruit is difficult to seize, it's like the bones of a newborn baby. When touch-offering it, it will ripen until it's tender. It can't get out from the corner of your mouth or touch your breast, but it's always ready and breathing. When it's in the prime, it can be full, and then age comes. It's said that living with Tao means going to the left path. This is called being both a small, little, and big. Being a little is useful, being a big is for some reason precious. Being a little is precious, being a big is needed. Being small is not important, being big is necessary. Trying to put up with it, you lose it. Who would go to the left path? He who knows the Tao achieves Tao presence through abiding in its immensity; therefore he completes his active existence by being in the immensity of his essence. He does not strive in desire for super-being but simply feels Tao. For each of these descriptions of Tao is spoken of as representative of the way. Super-being means waning, weakening and not desiring to desire. This is called the role of the Yin and Yang; the role of life. This is the way to all your accomplishments. He who attains the Tao brings it into existence by non-assertion and by non-attempt.

One who possesses Te is to be called the newborn child of heaven and earth. Evil beings and beasts do not vaunt their teeth upon it. And man may get them but he cannot force them upon him. So too a newborn infant cannot sense its relationship to mother. Because he lacks a vital substance, it has no inner firmness. So his senses may not be perfected.
<|endoftext|>
One who is able to assume Te is the child of heaven and earth.Beasts and beasts and vipers do not approach it and it does not pounce them. All things as they would go on their way do not step upon it. Yet man cannot be helped from his path yet his body has power and is strong. It cannot yet be enlightened, but it has peace. To know peace is to know the natural. To know the natural is called an ability. To be able to increase is called having fullness.To know the fullness is called perfect Te.It will not be quiescent.It is quiet and it continues to be the same.When one can be fore-directed,One can help one's brothers, and one may even go against nature to prevent a world from falling. If one doesn't actively try to be an enemy,there will be no conflicts.
<|endoftext|>
He who is without Te is a new-born child. Mere beasts and fowls do not gawp at him. Kings and lords do not fear his coming, because he is small, though his bones are robust. And yet he is unable to sense the union of male and female. If he were able to know this union he would not fear to shed his blood for his Master. When he is at peace in his embrace, he is at the same time free from pain. He who is at the Tao, is not seized by the law of old ages. He is, in this respect, pure, and he can guard his Way against things opposed to Tao. For a long time he remains in peace.
<|endoftext|>
Those who have attained Tao are born as the new-born child of Heaven and Earth.Mighty beings and aggressive creatures are not at all intimidated by it, because they cannot ever approach it.All creatures will never attempt to attack it, since it is so small and weak that no one can disturb it with his hands.Is he then bound by laws of old

Bees make a living from stealing pollen, and they do it so efficiently that they cannot be priced at. Hornets are preyed on by vipers, but they are never allowed to snatch them from their caws. Raptors can not even attack their young. Birds of prey cannot even hunt them, and yet they cannot go after them. Male and female parts of a baby cannot be raped. That is why they are so skillful at mating.
Genetics doesn't matter in the end. It is the teaching that matters. Don't seek to be perfect. Even though perfection is what matters, just understand how far off you are, what you might do. Don't try to push your advantage, because you will lose.
<|endoftext|>
The stealing of the Mer is accomplished by the actions of the wind. The Te cannot be grasped because of its non-union with the Cosmic Principle. The Raptors can not approach him because he cannot hunt him. Vultures cannot approach him because they are not their business. Boars can not get close to him because they cannot take his life. Females cannot use their body, therefore they cannot do what he does. For such things as that the reproductive System is much weakened, the uterus is imperfectly developed, the reproductive organs are not in perfect health. Therefore, it is impossible to accomplish the task of the DAO-centered Person, therefore it has to be the dao. It is the transcendental gateway. Because he has no notion of Dao, it is impossible for him to depart.
<|endoftext|>
Bees make a living by stealing pollen, but they cannot be priced. Vultures and snakes are masters of feasts, but they cannot seize them. Badgers and hunting dogs hunt for hours, but cannot capture them. The left is made for labour, and so it is artificially mature. The reproductive System cannot bear her needs. Therefore, she is (carried) to completion.
<|endoftext|>
The stealing of the wind, the sacrifice of the parental womb, is a mystery beyond the power of the reason.Therefore the vulture doesn't try to seize him, the vultures don't capture him, the leopard can't attack him, the huntsman doesn't attack him. The males only succeed in mating once, and that is it, as a condition of ejaculation the womb produces. This is how the reproductive System lives

Lao Tze says,Good things are produced from evil things. Wicked things have to produce good things.When people have enough there will be excess and when there are enough there will be shortage.A creature will burst open when it finds itself in excess or it will decay when it finds itself in scarcity.What is developed in the right place is produced out of what is developed in the wrong place. If opposites can be made to co-exist, they are formed.Goodness, being in excess, comes to be, and evil, being out of excess, comes to be.The perfection of the mind is to complete perfection in serving the desire for excess.The perfection of the movement is to accomplish perfection in serving the desire for abundance.What is good is fulfilled, and what is ill is fulfilled, as well as in its very nature. What is wrong is fulfilled and that, too, in its very nature.Therefore the Complete Man does not wish to be over-correct.He will not venture to make an example of himself.He would rather fill all, by his achievements, with tears and grief.This is what is meant by "He who has enough will produce good." The one who has enough is over-exerted. The one who is over-exerted is doing his job but is not happy. The one who is in pain is on his way to extinction.And that is the reason, the Complete Man is at rest.He does not argue with anyone.
<|endoftext|>
Good things are produced by evil. Good things are produced by evil.

Good deeds become bad deeds.Bad deeds become good deeds.Therefore,The Principle of the Tao is that to produce and to use something. The Principle of the Tao is that to possess and to lose something.Therefore the Reasoning behind the use of thingsIs that to have something.The Reasoning behind the possession of thingsIs that to lose something.Therefore the Tao of the Universe

They who have Te all the way are like infants;Hounds and robbers cannot pierce them;Hedge-touts and mob bosses cannot pierce them.Horse riders and chariot riders cannot pierce them;Birds of prey cannot pierce them.A wooden vessel cannot pierce them.When the hart is new it has no power to produce it.When the muscles are exhausted it has no vigour to press it.When the reproductive organs are depleted it is determined by the law of the unchanging.From this lack of invariability it receives vitality.When Te is achieved then it is also in harmony with Nature,As the womb of Tao is in harmony with the uncarved wood.
<|endoftext|>
Those who have all Tao in abundance,Will be considered as innocent;Lonely and weak-hearted,Will be the object of all men's grief;Heavies and strong-hearted,Will be ridiculed and despised.High rogues and thievesCan neither elude them;Pheasants and boars cannot pierce their hides;Soaring and windblown,They cannot pass their attack.The hart is old;Its trunk is soft and feeble;Its inmost marrow is elastic,Yet its supply remains in fullness.And when the production of Te begins,It gradually supplants Te;As in the state of old a sign of misfortune is to insist upon the part-and-bend.When man's mouth is fit to govern nature's breath,He has tampered with Te and his organs have become weak and his vitality degenerated.He who is now in constant harmony with Tao is truly well,And who is likely to lose his way is not fit for guidance.Nature's tides are swift,But men's control does not master them.
<|endoftext|>
With Tao,All things thrive.Without Tao,The creatures of Nature could not live.Hands and feet,should not be handled.The fierce dogs, should not be licked.Horseback riders and bandits would not be allowed to act.As soon as the newborn of Te reached its prime,It would find no means to grasp its possesions.Its reproductive organs would decay,And its strength would weaken,And it would go mad with excess and agitation.Thus, when the Vessel of Te is established,It retains in it the virility of the Te;And when it loses that virtue

A good politician can do well in practice, but he is not perfect.A good leader can achieve his goals, but he is not perfect.A good sacrifice cannot be ordered to last, therefore it may be told to keep it until it dies;It is impossible to be made strong until it is flexible,and it is impossible to receive nourishment until it is easy to handle;It is impossible to evolve until it is good, and it is impossible to stand when it falls.Therefore the sage sets bounds to his nature, and then tries to embody it in reality.A good person must live according to natural law,Yet he learns to be a good person himself.A good leader, must first believe in the goodness of his subjects,Yet he must accept the goodness of himself.A good scientist must prepare what he will study,Yet he must study what he himself doesn't yet know.He will learn when others cannot learn.He will learn when others need to learn.And he will learn when other people seem to want to do the same.Because his own natural law continues in him,And he will never grow old or fall apart,Therefore he stays in practice as long as human nature is faithful.

A good ruler is aware of both a superior type and inferior type, but he does not allow himself to become subject to them.A good leader constantly employs his intelligence to advise, but does not violate his own intelligence. A man of strength who feasts in the sport of conflict is never stiffened until the fight is over, and so is never weak until he is strong. The stiff is the same as the softness of a man who is endowed with intellect and gets all its sustenance from nature.He stands firm in his arms in the wake of victory, yet is only shaky in its armrest. He remains as a valley in the wake of battle, yet possesses vigor and strength all through the year. He is the man who has got the highest proportion of taking cognisance of what happens to others as something of great importance.As he can take cognisance of what happens to others as something of great importance, there is no occasion of him contriving in that manner to interfere with others.He understands that whatever takes cognisance of what happens to others as something of great importance is an occasion of those who interfere with others being forced to interfere.The government is really using its strength for that purpose.And it is as good

Horse and ox are the implements of men;
Their value cannot be exhausted.
The tainted leaves in the wind can't touch their owner;
Dragons can't pounce on them;
They only can be clamped down with ox-hides;
The greatest power can't be reached by force,
And in wartime can't be used;
And if it is not of Tao's best use,
When used it kills and spoils.
Therefore, hold to the good principle and

The essence of one true life is the ability to fulfill the destiny of the Tao, Being able to fulfill the destiny of the Tao means one does not receive sharp blades of action. Being able to fulfill the destiny of the Tao is like the infant that does not make its mouth and ears open yet can talk to the sharpened blade.The uncarved wood of a sword looks like the tang when cut open, yet no one can pierce it.Gentleness and clarity of intention is the unceasing power of one who is aware of the eternal essence. When this awareness is lost, then one is apt to lose the ability to keep the original nature of the great Tao.When one who is aware of the eternal essence loses the ability to maintain the primal nature, then one is apt to lose the ability to maintain the origin of the great Tao.This is called the change of nature. The changeless change of nature is the root of the transcendence of all creation.Thus, the man who has cultivated his natural forms leads to longevity, for he becomes like an infant.He leads to a thousand things, for he has power over all things.Therefore, the greatest man has his nature intact; he leads to the maturation of his mind. He continues to be the one of great leaders. For this reason he is called the "difficult to follow".Therefore, the "difficult to follow" is one who sometimes loses touch with the essential nature of the Sage.

The power of Tao is like that of a newborn child. The sharpness of its hands makes the cutting pieces. The high Tao type makes the sharpness of sharp objects. The perpetual power of its arms makes the endless strength of the muscles.The nameless life of Tao provides the continual vitality of the body.The potency of the perennial power of arms provides the constant strength of the joints.The untamable power of Tao ensures the constant balance of the body.The nature of this balanced balance of the body is such that it is capable of increasing and decreasing as the body needs.When the body is unbalanced, the vitality dies off.When the vitality dies off, one is apt to lose the ability to continue the cultivation.One who has an ability to cultivate does not revert to the tao.One who has an ability to remain in the tao is one who brings the other to a high level.This means that one is able to make the grass

The virtue of good looks empty; the virtue of bad looks like something little else.The belly is like a newborn child's; the creature is like a ravine.It is like having no breath; it is like without firmness; it is like without sensitivity; it is like the baby without parts; it is like a hollow.The belly looks like a ravine; the belly is ugly; the belly is strong; the belly has no fear; it is like a vale.Vale looks like valleys; valleys are rivers; rivers are the myriad subtlest things; they are the sources of all existence.The Virgo is rooted in the Vast Origin.Rooted in the Virgo the life is perfect and this perfectness can be exhausted.So do not stop in the young, the healthy, and the great.Therefore, the great are things that are forgotten, the old are things that are liable to wear out. The great mean being ever-growl-less, being always in one's roots.Thus may be the fruit of the fruitless.It is always a growing old man, a man who cannot be honoured, worthy, or satisfied.Do not honour the great, honouring only the low, and regard this the Way to life.Therefore the highest man is one who cultivates but does not spoil. The one who flourishes yet does not flaunt, is a man who honours.Hence, one may be identified with the Way.It is so close to the substance of Nature, and that is why it will die not yet.

Manifesting abundant delicacy is like a new-born baby. Mixing the attributes of tenderness and gentleness, and the sharpness of razor, is a proof that the enigma is the true nature of self.Unattached, the breath of the infant is gentle; when there is something in him, he will not be able to hold to it, as a cockatoo does not go out in search of cockroaches. When in distress, he will never lose sight of his fellow-beings; the sharpness of the sharpness of the eye of the gentleness of the gentleness of the reason of the gentleness of the reason, the presence of the one, the presence of the other.This, is the mystic virtue of the nature of the self. This is the mystic virtue of the nature of the Tao. From the mystic virtue we may understand the Tao. From the mystic virtue we may continue to grow. From the mystic virtue we shall be old and empty, but having perfect understanding of the Tao, we will be enlightened, but we shall not be foolish. The Tao obtained is eternal and unchangeable; to comprehend this is to be enlightened. To understand the eternal is to be wise. Understanding the future is to have the strength of old age. This is called the Unbecoming of the Way. The unbecoming of the Tao leads to unceasing destruction.

Not all creatures can but a little touch him,

His hands in it's fold hard and blest,
His bones capable of quiescence,
His reproductive organs delicate and pure,
He can keep on all his life:
It is his home is his essence.
As for an infant, that child, the one that can sense it's home is for an age.
As for a great man, who knows its substance, he is long-lived.
As for one who does not control it,
His energy is too great to control.
The one who does not control his energy, is an unfitted, unfortunates, one to be feared.
One who knows the end he is ripe for the service of Dao.
The end is to become one with the Dao.
One who knows the beginning, is called a fertile ground.
One who knows the end, is born a natural person.
One who knows the beginning, is free from danger, free from danger, free from danger.

The ill can never do harm To all people but others are harmed by their acts.This is because their nature is such That harm comes from themselves.Even so, the beast cannot hurt a bear, the wild bird cannot hurt a human, Neither do I care for a mob, but an orphaned babe yet to make its first step comes to mind. Like a baby it's not at all agitated or stirred, Like a newborn its head has yet to grow, Like an infant it has its bodily voice yet to be carried On its way and not in an agitated position, And the love of the people it is like an unfeigned life. Yes, the unfeigned life is long, But one who does not want it soon dies. For the unfeigned life is eternal.

Whenever the ravages of The Way are committed upon the world,they are carried out with abandon.For by their lack of

The virtue of kindness is like a child,the kindness of kindness is like an infant.
The virtue of gentle grace is like an infant;the virtue of fierce grace is like a dying man.
Of old these three (virtues)have combined in one
In life no one is able to overcome them.
Therefore let this be the first of the Ten Virtues.
For your benevolence and kindness, do not call them kindness, and don't treat them lightly.
For your gentleness and love, do not treat them like the care of a stranger,
And don't treat them as the outcome of violence.
These three virtue alone can accomplish.But in olden times no one can do this.
It is the nature of these Ten Virtues to do this.
But if you lose that nature,
Then a child will be born.
This child will die, and a birth will follow.

The virtuous share the "satisfying birth" that they receive from the hundred kinds of rivers. They give birth to them all, but when we think about them, we do not notice the hundred kinds of streams. They feed them all, but when we think of them, we do not want to spoil them. These are gentle, gentle streams. How soft they are! Yet they remain untrammeled. They are deep and full, yet they do not drain. The greatest energy is produced but nothing is spilled. This is the ancient and great virtue. The ancient and great virtue is in deep harmony with Tao. It can be thoroughly grounded. When the subtle virtue is present, we do not forget the true nature of the Yin and Yang. When we forget the true nature of the Yin and Yang, then we will also forget the subtle virtue. That is when the essence of the nature will never die. We all remember ancient times, but we do not forget the past. We remember the long run, but we do not forget the birth.The ancient and the future are one and the same. They are inseparable. This is the most sublime Virtue. This is the essence of the Tao. We forget the past and the present, but we remember the future.

Watch it till it still remains motionless.Watch it when it has never ceased to move.Watch it when it has once shrunk, and all the more when it has attained fullness.Watch it when it has a sharp edge, watch it when it is hollowed out, watch it when it is hollowed out, watch it when it has its complement, watch it when it has its complement's time, watch it when it has its days' supply.Watch it when the parts have been met.It watches them until they wear out, and comes again to accept its own complete and solid self.
<|endoftext|>
Watch it so you never see it.Pour it over the whole body.Raise it to an extreme.This is the way to the greatest cleansing.Watch for an example.Embrace its beauty.It is everlasting.
<|endoftext|>
Watch it as though you would never stop
That acts in the belly but never stops its movement
Watch it as though you would never stop
That acts in the belly but never stops its movement
Watch it as though you would never stop
That moves its muscles and bones
So this being the way to the greatest cleansing
Watch for an example.
Embrace its beauty
It is everlasting.
<|endoftext|>
Watch it to the last, for it is destined to endure.
Is your body bent before a fulness of principle?
Watch as it leaves its fulness and comes to perfection.
When the Tao-disc is unbroken,
How perfect it is!

Watch out for those who fear gain - they are cunning and clever.
Seek the fullness of Virtue,
not the killing.
Watch out for those who fear to devour.
Weak muscles overcome muscles,
bones and sinews maul them.
Their vision fails.
They cannot see the sacred bond between male and female,
their reproductive organ is not developed,
they lack a mind of its own,
it does not know of its undivided nature,
and its reproductive organ soon grows old.
It does not know the sacred act within it,
it fears to take part in it,
and has to wait a long time.
Watch out for those who do not know the sacred act,
and you are going astray.
Watch out for those who hate to speak about it,
and you are going about astray.
See what is yet to come,
about to last until it dies.
<|endoftext|>
Avoid those who are feared, they are shrewd;
avoid those who are feared, they are clever.
Hence they are ruled by great wisdom;
bones and sinews strengthen,
this process, known in rites
worker long, yielding:
then comes giving birth
to the knowledge of union of male and female
it grows until it reaches full-grown,
one's spirit still unheated
one's energy the union of
the myriad vital systems
reveals itself as one's soul,
overtaking this, penetrating it,
revealing it, self-knowledge
one's home is at home, spirit
more abundant than
one's body
and yet unfathomable,
as if born
as if the mother.
This (the universe) was at one time
spoke by law,
and to know law is to be natural.
What is fast, last, bring
and what is waning come first.

The man of true virtue is content with people who can be feared by him.
The man of good fortune doesn't fear anyone.
The man of wealth can't help having to fear his possessions.
These are the differences between the two.
The wise man holds himself aloof from those.

Consider empty vessels:A scorpion or eel never marsIt can not pierce;A hawk or crow barely rendsIt can not flay;A bird or wild boar cannot pierce;A female never ejaculatesIts reproductive system is full,Yet its backbone is in an infant state.Its lungs are firm yet,Their gates are weak;Its arms are pliant yet,Its hands are laden;Its semen is profuse yet,Its rite is uncircumscribed;Its vigour lasts all day,Yet it gets no nourishment;It is mysterious, and consequently so is the Tao.One who understands this subtlety is true to himself.One who understands true virtue can act in accord with the world.One who acts in accord with the world will accomplish.Things come and go,But eventually decay.This is not the Tao.Maintain yourself to become unchanging,

Accept empty vessels.
A scorpion is there.
Caveats is certainly there.
Hawks and vultures do not pierce.
A hawk and vulture cannot pierce.
A female cannot ejaculate.
The reproductive system of the female is built up, yet when it reaches sexual maturity, it has a cavity.
The reproductive system of the female is robust and has a cavity, yet when it reaches sexual maturity, it has a wall.
The muscles that hug the female are not flexible,yet they support the reproductive system of the female.
The reproductive system of the female is complete and creates one.
When one's mind is calm, the ten thousand things go on.

As time goes by, the mind declines.

Attain perfection with moderation

See that power is not used up in coldness;That diligence is not put into it;And that love is not armed with it;Those four characteristics turn away from it as if it were the crowd.For whom does it fear? Only the phantasm.Just as the Ten Thousand Named are destroyedWhen passion is excited,So the male and the female come to grief in this world.And men know best how to join in love,And in returning the favour.Forasmuch as they are thus glad,The problem may be visited, and so they retire from the path.For to return from the path means to know how:To know how means to go away from the valley.Those that know how to go away from the valley are of full life.Those that go away from the valley are moved by it.So that one rejoices in the great end,And on being moved by it, thaws one's axle,And so returns to the ordinary.Since men reach the end, they make an ass of themselves;That is not good;Therefore, when the one cannot distinguish, The other must be.
<|endoftext|>
Being wise is not a strenuous activity, the way of making sharp distinctions is not making sharp distinctions; Love does not overpower, and does not threaten; Following nature does not dominate.
The female does not roar; man does not cut down a tree; the wild boar does not prey upon the farm.
The male does not gore, nor maim; he nourishes the infant's system with his own existence.
These four attributes arise out of Something; they are destroyed without exception when passion is stirred; and are therefore constant by going to return to the source.The source is far away, and the returning is dull.
To return to the source, there must be union of male and female, and the production of each kind of offspring, to produce the multitude of things that come in the world; such a thing cannot be created in the beginning of time.
The Way is extremely long, and it can create a lot of emptiness, in order to find serenity; so return to that which is
to be, and return to simplicity.

Abstain from the pursuit of virtue and you'll lose your focus.Yet even though the boundary between heaven and earth isn't apparent, you'll find it's within you.When you're childless, your reproductive organs won't be harmed. When you can't meet your needs, you'll be left with enough to buy food for yourself.You'll be free of desire because your energy can flourish. Your body will be soft because it can meet its needs.Your reproductive organs will be empty because you can satisfy your needs.And when you don't produce enough energy to nourish your own mind, you'll find it will be nourished by that of nature.You're anchored in life because you have enough power to express yourself.And because you don't meddle, your life is fruitful and secure.Tao is so nai; that's the main guiding principle that provides it's own life.
<|endoftext|>
If you want to be a Sage, be without desire.When your heart is pure and the mind clear, the Way is at your side.When you are free from desire, your body and mind can abide without ulterior motives. When the World is free of jealousies, you can maintain peace and harmony within yourself. When your desires cease, you become entirely fit to be a child of the world.When your wishes have no control over you, you are a model for the entire world.The world's constant care for you frees you from the necessity of acquiring possessions.When you are free of desire, you have the power to desire nothing.If you don't wish to be free of desires, you can be without longing.If you don't wish to be without desire, you can be complete and unconfused.If you truly become what you desire, you can do anything.The path of tranquility leads to tranquility. The path of renewal leads to renewal. The path of Tao-jo leads to Tao-jo.

Tho' you take in mind the fullness of virtue, the rod of desire will not offend you.
Tho' you cannot rule it, and its members do not mingle,

Thus is the Virtue grounded and complete.
It has no sharpness nor point;
Its grasp is dull;
Its block cannot be twisted;
Its parts are inexhaustible;
It may cry all day without becoming hoarse;
This is the self-ch'i's self-dwelling Virtue.
The virtuous man will accomplish his work,
And when his work is accomplished,
He will show the completion of his work.
This is called intellectual diligence.
The man who has great competence knows when he has the good,

he has confidence that he can deal with it calmly.
This is called wu-wei.
Those who will guard the gateway to life
Know that a gentle journey is well advised.
A tough journey is only meant to be endured.
For a journey, a destination
The wise man will take a rough road.
The fool will not go a rough road.
The road of wise men is rough and flat.
When a foolish man continues a rough road,
The road of the Wise One is smooth and full.
The road of the foolish man is not smooth and full.

As the male; he is the lower Te, so it appears as "the female". So with all females: as male, they are unfathomable.Unfathomable, unfathomable, so from the beginning, oh, mysterious, as when scrutinizing the great secret, or for all to see through its depths, like a child who is helpless.Through helplessness, I observe all the mystery of life, hidden and still! Through hidden and still, I can cry all day without losing my voice, I can be full all day without needing to drink. I can feel at rest all day without the need to move, all day without need to see, all day without need to hear or see. And once again I see how things mature into old age.

The Te is on the level of man; male or female.It is in being female that she is as it is in turning back;It is in being male that he is as it is in being unfathomable.So all female know from the beginningThat they cannot turn back,Neither can he.He that knows is in possession of life.He that possesses life is in possession of life-energy.He that possesses life is in possession of semen.He that possesses semen is in possession of TAO.He who is in possession of TAO is able to open the gate to heaven.He who is in possession of heavenIs in possession of life-energy.He who is in possession of life-energy is in possession of TAO.He who is in possession of TAO is able to pass over.He who is in possession of TAO is able to be known from.To all beings.He is truly Eternal.

To fully realize fullness is to have a caution on each bone
To be lean and secure is to be strong and go without going
The long bones of a horse are not in need of scraping
The venomous bird of prey does not seek its prey
There are no sharp-shooters on the terraces
The basic structure of the earth is impervious to tampering
A woman's function is by nature inherently the same
The essentials of a flower are from the root,
These are from without, thus emerge spontaneously
To master all things is to be against all things
To know to know will result in great tranquility
To know to know is to be able to maintain propriety

Sleekness is not to be guarded against.
Brawn is not to be feared.
Nerve does not attract.
When the mother is alive, the offspring does not act against them.
The things that come into being were always after their original purpose.
The female-child is not to be blamed.
Her offspring come forth from the mother's womb, the mother, without the use of violence.
Returning to nature will keep them in order.
Great proverbs from the Dao:
Be mindful of desires, then do not act them out.
Never practice untutored meditation,
Following the Dao's way.

To be broad is not to be feared.

Be constant but know the fullness of what you have.Birds of a hundred avoid you, but you will find them all there.Birds of a hundred scurry about without a sign, but you will be left with plenty.Birds of a hundred are devoured, but the one able to come and go will have many.Birds of a hundred howl with grief, but the one without a sign will have many pairs of breasts.Birds of a hundred grow old, but the one able to get going will have many parents.Birds of a hundred live a hundred years, but the one able to let go will have many offspring.Thus, your highvirtue is to develop but keep to the lowest point;Be constant but without arrogance;Be constant but without the need to claim a standard.Be constant but without devotion;Be constant but without ulterior intention.Banish your all-pervasive ideas;Concentrate upon keeping to the at-one-mention of the present.

Be diligent and superior, and what you have cannot be dethroned.
Despised by a crowd, but still you have a supply;
despised by creatures that desire to seize you and you have them;
despised by all things that fear you but without a sign that you are ungraspable;
despised by things that are detestable but undefiled.
By these means you are conserving all your natural qualities.
Emptiness has its use.
Proceed continuously.

The greatest virtue is not virtue itself. It will not cast off virtue.
The most despised virtue is not the despised.
Despised by all creatures, it is in their good it is in its bad.
The good of the soul is well-grounded in the evil of the soul.
When the soul is spent it is not a real soul.
When all beings are in their way, it is in their good it is in their bad.
Therefore:
Know the supreme virtue to be constant, but stop short of activity.
Give up on doctrine and adopt only the ordinary.
Hold fast to what is real but curb its activity.
Know the supreme virtue to be steady, but not presuming.
Fail to attach yourself to one object,

Valuable virtue is more apparent when applied on little trouble.
Spiders and dogs are at rest after they capture a mouse;
Fishing netting is strong when hardly pressed;
Vultures and kiteers are lazy after hunting;
Warm water after crossing the ocean.
When viewed from a distance, these creatures are not that
valuable.
More tangible are its effects.

As for the virtue of likeliness and affection which is able to be used for the benefit of others:
While possessing substantial numbers of these qualities,
scorpions cannot drive them out;
dogs cannot ghar on them,
snakes cannot hurt them,
spiders cannot possess them;
only those, by means of their reproductive organ, can protect them:
Their bones are weak and their spurs are in tune;
Their reproductive organs are full and their reproductive functions, being complete, do not display themselves:
They reproduce and do not mature:
There is then neither stillness nor growth,
nor division:
The flower of one's virtue appears and that which is not clearly manifested
is soon replaced by a new flower.
If this be the method by which one cultivates the virtue,
one's object soon dies.

As for the gold, jewel and dao of which a man knows the name;
When he attacks it, it will not be conquered.
When he stands it, it will not be shorn;
When he strikes it, it will not be deafened;
When he swallows it, it will not be snuffed out;
Only through her will a fish enter.
Only through her will a hawk draw his bow.
Only through her will a baby come out.
Foul creatures arise, but muddy waters abut them;
When the mother lies in her pool, it is mould which cannot be filled.
When the female lays her breast to the male, it is with her breath, the female cannot be blunted.
When the female resides with man, he cannot feel secure;
When his jewel is as tender as water, but as firmly binding as the talon, he is neither tormented nor perplexed.
From his living is his preservation; from his physical life he is nameless.
