What is called the genuine: it will blossom.
What is called great: it will last.
This is called the natural, the true; the natural, the correct.
It is called the chariot: it is the world's chariot.
The chariot rules by its chariot.
The chariot does not rest on the chariot.
Therefore the best people are by way of the world;
The good are by way of the home.
The good are by way of the village.
The good are by way of the village.
The good are by way of the nation.
The nation is by way of the world.
Thus is the world made.
So are the officials of the world.
So is the way the world views itself.

One who reuses the wealth of the universe
can be considered an impoverished person.
One who nurtures the relationship of the homeless
can be regarded as a homeless person.
One who perseveres
with what is left

These are the results of action,
action in turn manifests itself in manifestation.
Therefore, the sage

one hears the name of his life
being thus recognized,

He is like a piece of clear mirror

Thus the sage

Practice the Way, then you will keep the Way. Take a human as a guide, and you will avoid fear. Work together, and the inner life of a person will be embodied. It will advance naturally, without much thought. It will create without interfering. The virtuous become virtuous, and knowledge spreads. Peace and order arise naturally, without great effort. Virtue lasts and strengthens. Civilization is not determined by what people do; but by what they do themselves. How can you know the results of what others do? By what they do themselves.

Always seek enlightenment, and never lose your way.Work tirelessly and never falter. See your next step as though it is the beginning of a journey. Establish social harmony without arrogance. Achieve and maintain longevity without violence. Be gentle without coerciveness. Reclaim a purposeful mind without boasting. Display virtue without striving to become divine. Dispose of goods by inaction. This is knowing how to act.

Be clear and know the Way;
Do nothing that is against Tao.
To forget it is folly.

Use power, and even without force.
Be without thought, but still right.

Do what is right, and everything will be well.
Say, "I am going to make this happen."

Speak calmly, but with sincerity.
Loyalty to the country, to the state, and to the Way

That is why Tao helps so much:

He who knows how to simplify is not afflicted by what the masses would see,
He who knows how to clarify becomes clear,
He who knows how to clarify becomes lost.
He who knows how to illuminate becomes dark.
He who knows how to grasp becomes ungraspable.
The Tao-medium of all things is discerned,
The Tao-medium of Tao is ever present.
All things return to their original shape
When the original form is no longer discernible,
Something is dimly visible.
When the original form is discernible,
Something is clearly seen.
If Tao is the medium for all things,
All things return to their original form.
The self-assertion of the Tao is still the way to return to the original form
The work of Tao, the brightness of the Tao.
When the subtle form of the universe manifests
All things return to their original nature.
When the original nature of the universe has no form,
Something is dark.
When a self is no longer real,

By combining with Nature, they are meritorious.
By embracing Tao, they are able to reside.
By embracing Tao, they are able to spread.
By embracing Tao, people manifest their character.
By embracing Tao, they become multitudinous.
By embracing Tao, they are able to establish order.
By embracing Tao, people demonstrate merit.
By embracing Tao, they are able to be consistent.

By loving Tao and being Tao's submissive child, you are indeed its submissive child.
By loving Tao and being Tao's ruler, you are indeed its ruler.
If you hold to Tao and respect its participants, you are viewed with appreciation.
If you hold to Tao and become passive to accept its outcome, you are viewed with disgust.
The way to Tao's favor is to embrace it wholeheartedly.
The Way to Tao's favor is to love Tao wholeheartedly.

he who loves as the sacrifice shall be fulfilled;
he who loves as the vessel brings to completion shall be in perfect harmony with it.
Therefore it is that in attaining to his nature the usefulness of his nature he discerns only the person and the essence,

In being in accord with the spiritual essence he perceives the spiritual essence;

Faint leaves obscure; darken; cast a shadow. Creative Virtue is latent, it exists: It generates, it cherishes; It holds, it engages; It teaches, it yields. Wherever Virtue takes root, there it manifests; Wherever Virtue cultivates, there it attains. It is as if Nature on high stands before the populace of people, with its stillness, purity, and bounty. That Virtue exists in the populace is only natural. Do not take up the method: Only THAT method is in step with Nature. Do not show off; only that virtue is done. Do not press your own style. If this be true, how can one contend in birth and change?
Attain true Tao, and your action will be formal,
And you will not be threatened with being dispersed.
Attain true Tao, and your action will be sacrificial,
And you will not be threatened with being uprooted.
Attain true Tao, and your action will be long lasting,
And you will not be threatened with its end.
Attain true Tao, and you will be honored with life and virtue,
And you will be one with heaven and earth.
A man of the Tao will excel in martial virtue;
His action will be a long and abiding one,
And there will be no danger of interruption.
A man of the Tao will excel in female virtue;
His action will be a long lasting one,
And there will be no danger of being outdone by others.
As one is possessed of the Tao, then he is distinguished by Tao;
As one is elevated in the world, then he is distinguished by world;
As one is distinguished by his community, then he is distinguished by community;
As one is distinguished by his state, then he is distinguished by state.
He therefore has reason to be careful about the state;
And it is not necessary for him to be very conscious about his relation to the world.
It is through the world that he is distinguished, and he is distinguished only because of the union of the latter with the former.

The principle of perfect Tao cannot be scrutinized, it is something that can only be experienced.It's the same principle that makes all things come into existence,From the universe of the ten thousand things to every living thing;Like the uncarved block of wood where nothing is carved,This block can be carved but not cut,It is block of uncarved wood and unhewn wood,But the block itself cannot be cut,Cut it, and it will be the same,This block is of Tao, and there are no limits to its use.

The Way extends to every aspect.To dwell on it, the mind begins.In its "aesthetics," the mind begins.In its subtlety, the mind begins.In its clarity, the mind begins.In its depth, the mind begins.In its usefulness, the mind begins.In its flexibility, the mind begins.In its importance, the mind begins.In its creativity, the mind begins.In its beginning, the mind begins.In its completion, the mind begins.A guideman:Be like an infant.Wherever one is, there is a guide.In doing a task, stay still.In choosing a resource, follow the rules.In following your gut, go with the flow.And the results will follow you.

Listening to the way of Tao, one is aware of all beings, each is one with all the others. At one with the myriad beings one can become one with no-thing, the undifferentiated.
To become one with no-thing, one is said to be born of Tao.
At one with the undifferentiated one attains complete inner purity.
In the belly of the undifferentiated one approaches completion.
One attains complete inner purity when he has lost Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Listening to the Tao Way, one can listen and see all things arise and grow. They are always present in their fullness.
Those that are full come before the thing that is without.
Those that have not come are called the newborn.
Those who are born are said to have a name.
There are those who attain completion and those who attain quietness.
They are both the same: the perfect completion.
This is Tao's way of being.
<|endoftext|>
To listen to the way of Tao is to see all things as they are; all things, all are things in their own right.
They are in their natural state, and there is nothing left to be born of.
Being born of Tao, you return to all things.
Being naturally born of Tao, you attain freedom.
In achieving freedom, you become undefiled.
Being undefiled, you become a newborn.
A newborn is the primal source of all things.
It is precisely through having the primordial source that one is able to return to the primal Source.

Listening to the Tao Way is to observe all things as they are.
All things,
All things are as they are, and there is nothing that cannot be born of them.
So if there were nothing born of them,
they would be as they are;
being born of Tao, you return to the not-yet-born.
If there were nothing yetborn of them,
they would be as they were.
Being born of Tao, you become truly perfected.
This is Tao's way of being.

The virtuous person is an enduring and enduring virtue. A virtuous person of congruence always aims to become a virtue. If such a person turns away from virtue, he is to be discarded. To seek virtue, to seek it continually, is to seek the Tao. If the Tao is not there, then a virtue is not fulfilled. If the Tao is not fulfilled, then there is nothing to be fulfilled. This is called the Principle of Time. Wherefore, when the established Tao, in time of need, shines far, the ever-present virtue that remains in his head is light. This virtue, by being illumined by Tao, becomes a criterion for the establishment of Tao. This is called the influence of the Principle. Wherever virtue is in harmony with the Tao, there is Tao; Wherever virtue is not in harmony with the Tao, no Tao will be harmonious with it. This is called the subtle distinction between being and not-being.

The virtuous begeteth virtue, the base becometh virtue, the low becometh virtue, and those that are at a loss, becom not good.That is why the Sage has said, "I look unto the heaven and not to the earth."Therefore his spiritual vision is luminous;his spiritual view is spiritual.He who is filled with it will never become exhausted.To the extent that he is sufficient, he rejoices in life; to the extent that he is lacking, he rejoices in gain.That is why the sage, when born, becometh good for his times, for his places, for his years.He rejoices in the lightness of the universe, and rejoices in gaining virtue from it.That is why he is luminous and gets the light. That is why he is manifest and gets the form.That is why he is one with the world and gets unity with the world.

What is considered important is less important than what is lesser important.To be attached to something is to have less importance than to hold it; to grasp something is to have less importance than to be without possession.What is deeply rooted is more deeply rooted than what is too far submerged.What is firmly grasped is less firmly grasped than what is not firmly grasped.The roots are fruitful from whence comes the fruit.The family is the foundation for the state.The realm is the base for the kingdom.The universe is the basis for the nation.Such a being is one thing.It is the way of all things and the origin of all beginnings.

To be open to all is to be less important.To be secure is to be less secure.To be aware of one's self is to be less aware.To be receptive to the world is to be less receptive.To harbor values is to be less powerful.To identify oneself with a group is to be less strong.This is why there is virtue, while virtue is only a clue.It is also because virtue is a clue that virtue is called the Tao, although Tao is the nature of all things and nature is themselves one thing.

What is open is less important.What is secure is less secure.What is aware of the Tao is less aware.What is receptive is less receptive.What is in accord with the Tao is less in accord with the world.The wisdom that is well balanced is less wise than that that is fickle.Thus are the virtues typical, and what is open is characterized by virtue.The old is less old than the new.How do I know this is so?By virtue.

What is open is insufficient.It is unlikely to be fixed.What is secure is insufficient.It is unlikely to be loosened.What is conscious of the Tao is insufficient.What is receptive is insufficient.What is aware of the Tao is insufficient.What is inwardly directed is insufficient.This is Tao.

Respect and honor are traits that arise through "fear". Things that have no honor and respect are transformed by "fear". No-one is benefited by honor and respect.
<|endoftext|>
Favor and respect are the foundation of one's relationship to others. The less one has of the first, the less that need be said about one's neighbors. Favour and respect are different: one respects and is praised, but one never loses it. Favour and respect are developed from childhood, which is cultivated with work, and sustains all around it. There is a purpose in a purpose. A purpose is not given to a purpose.
<|endoftext|>
Favor is a matter of being mindful of it.
Guided by respect for what you value, you can gain and cherish some of it.

Valor and respect are acquired by attending to fear. Fear will not long be removed from you.

Honour and respect may be called the foundation of the community, but when they are not there, it will come out and arise from something else.Honour and respect are differences, arising from something else.All kinds of difference emerge from something else: there is favor and care, and things of equal value - something and nothing, one thing and something else.It is the same with this world: The developing is nurtured by one who is as devoted as he is devoted to his community, and remains true and true when his community is in disorder.

When Tao becomes insistent on action, and action does not directly oppose Tao, it is at the same time forced by Tao to follow the inevitable; to act according to Tao and not to counter-act Tao. The ruler is a model, a speck of dust, But for all intents and purposes the world is the same as it was in ancient times. The ruler has no desires, therefore does not regress. The ruler behaves in ways that provide the world with comfort and security. The ruler's reliability is relied upon by all, because he takes time to make things right, like giving birth to a new world. The ruler acts with wisdom, being wise enough to understand that the world cannot be made just for him. However, the wise ruler is able to act as the steward of the kingdom as he sees fit. He is able to care for the family and the country. In this way, the realm acts in harmony with the wise, though they are acting without the knowledge or approval of the kingdom. How frail all things were in the prime of life! The things on earth in their fundamental oneness
Must therefore be mutually respected. And the professed rule is no law!
Wherefore:

The best place for business is in the family. The best days for mourning are in infancy. To be self-sufficient is to be an example to others. To be self-sufficient is to flourish. To emulate the Tao is to be effective. To follow Tao is to live a long, fulfilling life.

In general the best rulers do not be as informed as the average. For example:
In his battles the righteous prince does not try to use force
To strike with heavy arms.
In the battle of ten thousand pikes he dares not go after lightly.
In his battle for the burial he does not fight
To the death.
If he were also a warrior, he would never have defended with great force
(But would have used such violence against) his own self.
If he were also a shepherd, he would not rely on heavy weapons (And use them sparingly).
If he were also a warrior, (They would have resort to it) for the sake of killing themselves.
If he were also a shepherd, he would not rely on his arms
And at times resort to them.
If he were also a warrior, he would not have sustained himself by being a soldier (And would have killed himself).
It would be like saying that a successful person is not that knowledgeable.
Only he is not stupid.

The finest leaders are not swayed by the scale
The toughest warriors are not agitated
Their loyalties are not flickered
Their weapons are not displayed
Their strategies are not publicized
Their armies are not charged
Not content with hollowing out a foe
Instead of exploding to fight,
Instead of killing a large number of people,
Instead of taking great pride in their actions,
Their commander will be deserted when he takes his stand.
Only be capable of this.

A good place to start is not an ideal place.A good place to end is not an ideal end.When the parental home has a reputation of importance,it should not be entrusted to lightly.The respectful attitude of rulers that they prefer a good house for a family gatheringis not so great.The same principle governs rulers who are wise and who reside in the Center of the universe.The Sage rules with competence, and a good house is not wasted for any great loss.When a family gathers to celebrate a festival, it is not lost.So it is with all wise rulers:A good head begins with a good fist.

"A good place is not an ideal place."The ideal is a continual state.A good place, though it endures, is not a constant.If a family's honour is esteemed, should it not at some time be entrusted for taking away honour?Those who are wise and perfect in their knowledge do not arrogate what is honourable to their head.They stay in peace and harmony with the thousands of beings.When one is leading men and things, one does not try to exalt them or to refuse to love them.One acts as a model for men and things, one acts as a trustee of their honour.A wise man who is like the Infinite Sages, by his perfect action, is like a filial trustee.When the family name of the family is well known,it must not be made the foundation of honour.When honour is stolen, it must not be gladly granted.This is why the wise person takes to himself the uncarved block, he follows the Tao, keeps to the home, and acts with the Tao.

He seems to know himself, but he is not self-centered. He takes the duties he asks of others, and promises them. This is what the Wise Person does, and it is well known. Those who know the Way say: "But, when no one accepts it, it is very likely to collapse, and when there are no rejections, it is also very likely to fail, and when no rejections, it is also very likely to be successful. Thus the sage knows the principle of Tao, but does not try to set it in practice, but remains wholly without self-interest, and, speaking as a person of high character, says that he can bring about all these."

When-what Tao has spent its strength? Giving it to all things and breeding them in their abundance.
Favouring not what one loves, you gain over all; forsaking not what one loves, you gain over all. For nothing is better that giving and receiving. What Tao does is well suited to All.
Through that Te to whom can I show myself? Through that Te to whom can I desire to guide? Through that Te to whom can I rely? By that Te when everything goes well, everything will surely turn to to.
Passionateness and tolerance have been seen but barely. Cultivate them in person and they become white and blossomy; cultivate them in person and you will live well; cultivate them in the home, you will live in peace. Cultivate it in the country, and it will last. Cultivate it in the state, and it will be successful. Cultivate it in the empire, and it will be well-placed.
Concentrate power, the myriad images, and it may become useful; but if you do it, it will not perish; if you do it, it will not be an object, and if you try to do it, you will not succeed.
Where there is strength, there is nourishment; strength brings nourishment; the desire to do things requires patience and does not just emerge; it must be built up, and solidified, and then it is reborn.
The Dao is nourished by doing Things.

The good people are already in good health.If a person does not have enough natural treasure,I will not be able to put him to death.He who is well cared for will turn out to be a good person.When one is in accord with Tao, the good will be solid and the bad will disappear.People will have more common interests and material wants than before.When it is one's business to have many desires and responsibilities,one will not be able to satisfy them all.In general the resources and importance of the ruler have diminished.The rulers now treat the ruled as having no more value than a bellows.The ruler is now aware of having nothing to give the people.He recognizes them as having more than he gives them.But he is not only unaware of this,he has no choice but to take some action.Thereby he can become a good ruler.

Those who can be good are already good, therefore all people know it.People of good nature, if no one helps them, will always be glad to get help, and those of bad nature, if others help them, they will be good.When people are good, they also have good fortune, and good fortune, for goodness does not rely on any external rewards or punishments.When it is your business to offer material and services, you will be happy if the company does so well. One should encourage simplicity, for in the world of Heaven, the emptiness of rites is benifit. He who seeks richness, serves food. He who fulfills his duty, benefits the nation. He who expresses himself and expresses his righteousness, is a bar. If one is faithful to one's family, to one's self, or to one's country, his faith is accepted and he is yet not rejected. So the word namabe, is used to express fidelity and sincerity, reliability and trustworthiness, care and safety. How do I know that these three? Because of their example, their example and their example.

For the best things are not enough,They need the greatest of things.For heavenly hall is empty;The people sit there and eat the food.The people sit there and flaunt their precious goods.The people sit there and dance.Therefore the people of the Heaven look up to their humble groundAnd the people of the Earth look up to their noble chariot.Does it not seem as if the heavenly hall is empty,And the noble chariot is the residence of the lowly people?Has not the noble chariot stood as the ground for the humble people?This is because Heaven and Earth have looked down on their humble groundAnd the ground has been the humble people.How do I know this is so?Because the humble ground is the ground of the humble people.

One should not be busy stuffing one's tummy with food;There must be enough food in one's belly.One should enjoy the simple life and, for simplicity sake,Carry on walking.For something sacred

What good is Tao for the world? Just because it is inadequate, it will not suffer from decay. When Tao is used in the kingdom, the people will revere it. When Tao is used in the country, the people will respect it. When Tao is used in the nation, the people will be orderly. When Tao is used in the kingdom, the kingdom will be flourishing. When Tao is used in the kingdom, the kingdom will be righteous. When Tao is used in the kingdom, the kingdom will be peaceful. When Tao is used in the kingdom, the kingdom will grow in greatness. Thus it happens that the Supreme King, having attained the First Te (union of Te and Matter), becomes great, And being great, becomes prosperous.

Fortify the self; restrain the passions. Attend to the Inner in order to keep abreast of outward affairs. Cultivate in the Inner. Perpetuate in the Outer. Let these mutually depend on each other; make no confusion, and without end can be successfully stabilized. For the aim of Tao is The greatest good; Therefore it may be kept as an image.
<|endoftext|>
If you develop self-love, then you will stop your self-love from putting you in danger. If you curb your passions, then you will stop your passion from dominating you. Thus, self-mastery leads to self-control. So nature abhors separation and together they create the universe. Who can understand Nature? So it is that he can know the universe.
<|endoftext|>
Exceed by assisting your inner self; be gentle toward your outer self. Let your inner self be sufficient for it is to complete. Thus, when all things are centered upon the true Self, then they will never stray. With self-control all things have their true origin. Thus, when it is centered on your True Self, all things can be let go of. When you let go of them, all things disappear. Nature follows its own pattern: Some things are not kept, Some things are not discarded, Some things are kept, And Some things are let go. Therefore, when all things have their beginnings, Nature ensures them by being impartial and perfect. This is the nature of Infinity. Who can put their trust in Infinity?

Your dwelling is a common region, The people live in harmony with each other and receive the respect of the state. Your energy is inexhaustible. Let your essence come forth, and it will not go unrewarded. Allow it to increase in power, and it will not fail. Therefore, in relation to the good things in the world, the people should rejoice and enjoy them. The heavenly law is pleasing to man and the earth. As to the affairs of the empire, the people should be as generous as they can be, with no apprehension.

To regulate external matters Is like raising a child. To do right, is like rescuing a dead animal. To maintain oneself, Is like rescuing the collective body. To do well, is like defending the natural order of things. To do everything, Is like preserving things without coercion. To have all, is like acting to preserve the unity. And to be ushering the vessel of life, Is like visiting the myriad beings. And not to dominate the world is to fall to darkness.

To be like a man is like to be so far apart from the other beings - a living thing with features but nothing that can be regarded as his separate self. One who can do this cannot stop himself from dying; one who continues himself cannot be stopped from failing. One who is born in harmony with everything stays alive. One who conforms with the people survives; one who conforms with the world continues. The one who knows to be one with the world is like a living presence. The one who finds such a presence here and now is like a natural child.

Heaven not only interferes but also succors, and succors both Earth and Heaven, And all the myriad beings. The Way preserves and nurtures, and sustains itself with a single hand. He who knows how to preserve and nurture alone is clear in his guidance. He who knows how to get his way, takes care of everything. Lao Tze says: The first is the universe; the second, the ten thousand things.
The first is high, and the second, low. Therefore, the good ones are higher, while the bad ones are lower.
The source of the good is hidden. It is unknown by those who call themselves great. Therefore, a good person is always good, and a bad person is always bad.
The ancestor of the great is identified with no one. He is the origin of the great.
Therefore, a good person lives well, while a bad person can always be saved; a good person has all, while a bad person is scattered.
The Tao is all, and returns again.
The people know what is Tao; the tao goes to other things.
People call Tao the hidden Tao. It is the hidden Tao.
It is the way to know everything.
It is the relationship of the hidden to the greatest.

The second is the ten thousand things.
The first is the highest.
The second is the lowest.
Therefore, the good ones are higher;
The bad ones are lower.
The origin of the good is known.
It is known as the dark one.
Therefore, one who possesses the light
Confronts himself.
Confronts his family;
Confronts his neighbors.
Confronts his country;
Confronts the world.
This is how the Way works.
Understanding this, we can be free.
Knowing this, we can be centered.
Knowing this, we can be one with the world.
This is how we live life.

The second is the source of the ten thousand things.
The first is the highest, the second the lowest.
Therefore the superior ones are superior, while the inferior ones are in decline.
The origin of the superior is not known to man, therefore it is called dark.
Therefore he who recognizes the light embraces it. He who embraces the inferior embraces it. He who embraces the supreme embraces it without fail.
Therefore the superior man lives a pure and wholesome life, the inferior man lives a life that is transfixed with multitudes and all his life is devoted to the disenchantment of the greater man.

We are the root from which all things arise.
Therefore, we do not dwell in a separate self.
We nurture each other as if we were our own children.
We are open, not locked.
We do not fear death, and remember that in so doing we are part of the Tao.
Thus, We live in harmony with the universal Tao
and begin to become existing,
and our Tao provides a home for everything.
We give everything its needs;
we also take care of its wants.
Thus, at the center of this wonderful being we find the family;
we take care of the community;
we take care of the nation;
we take care of the world;
and so this harmonious relationship has an objective.
Why did we say objective?
Because all things work together to benefit one another.
They all are well-managed through having one another as parts.
This is when each receives its own thing.
This is when we can be assured that our spirit truly dwells in each other.
<|endoftext|>
We are the earth's foundation; we abide not in our private nature but in that of the world.
We foster one another as one's own children; we act with utmost honesty; we maintain our honor; we respect our neighbours; we are unconcerned with our affairs; we are never in danger of being carried away; we may be safely entrusted by all to the care of a family; we may be entrusted by all to the care of a community; we may be entrusted by all to the care of a nation; we may be entrusted by all to the care of the world.
Because all things are entrusted to us, we will find it fit to share in their common
life; because all things are entrusted to us, we will take care of each one equally. Because all things are entrusted to us, we may be entrusted as underlings.
To care for a family is to care for your own children; to care for a nation is to care for your own people; to care for a state is to care for all the land; to care for the world is to care for all creatures.
To care for the world is to care for the world.
Why do we say that the world is the world? Because it is as if the world and the family are one. We must treat ourselves like one with the family; we must cherish

One who is the leader of his followers does not make claims for himself. Rather he accepts, as long as he is able, the responsibilities of leadership. He may be the example for his followers, in all sorts of ways, but he does not force himself. He trusts that, though this is his natural state, he can be freed of his burden. That is why the sage man is one with nature and is neither dominated nor controlled by anything.

The Leader who works constantly will not achieve his purpose. People who are constantly on the job will never quit their work. The Tao is always at work. It is never defeated. Therefore the Sage never dwells permanently in himself. He is universally useful to all under Heaven. He can be found in every place. He does not intend to achieve greatness. He is the minister of all men. Therefore he is one of the treasures of the Tao. Therefore, the Sage is at home with Nature. He can therefore return to himself. Because he does not dwell permanently in himself, he does not weaken.

Abandon pride and you will gain all greatness, Abandon attachment and you will gain all beauty, Abandon worldly accomplishments and you will gain all justice, Abandon all earthly merit and you will gain all righteousness. Abide by the family and no longing for more will arise. Abide by the community and no desiring to gain more will arise. Abide by the state and no desiring to gain more will arise. Abide by the world and no desiring to gain more will arise. The one says: The One is the lord of men, the man is lord of women, the woman is lord of the earth, the earth is lord of the universe. The universe is lord of the son and the mother too. If you have a son or a mother who is lord of the earth, the Earth's son or the mother will love and serve them well.

The Tao is unchangeable and yet when used in harmony with the personality of the person, it appears to be the essential beginning of everything.Therefore:Those who practice the Tao naturally desire to be at the roots of virtue and virtue naturally desires to be at the root of beauty and beauty naturally desires to be at the root of sincerity.All living things flourish only because of their nourishing the root (tsu) of Te and by this way, the beings' souls are enduringly purified.These acts of the Te Master are indeed the foundation of their life.Therefore, even if the Tao is not the basis of the person, but the person is the foundation of the Tao, then the latter becomes the object of the former's affection and there will be no opposites.The person who has pure heart, has the whole person, the whole self; the person who has strong character, is noble man, the whole family is happy.The family, the man, the family is made.The community, the society is strong.The Tao is the root of all things.The way is the heart of men and the heart of the living.

Holding firm, therefore, is not accomplished.Extend the firm to the limit, And the firm is not weakened.When, through the return of the sacred, A new and better sacrifice Is taken, Something from all people will submit and do so. Bring the people in whose presence the place is The people together with their sacrifice Take place without fail. When the nation is united Through these ceremonies, The rite becomes permanent. When the place is separate, The ritual becomes unknown. The people know the ritual Is but a matter of degrees, And they know what is common. Through the knowledge of the people, The Kosmic Prince Can give his people the reason of their life; Without this reason, The rites may not be renewed.

It is the way of the ancients, though it is not certainly their way, to say,
Thinking well, we praise the motionless, The whole world honour the animation, when it happens.
When heaven and earth grow old, they again renew themselves;
If we follow nature's original, yet still further,
The whole world accepts our sacrificial form.
When, then, the whole of the world is raised to do things,
Those things again by giving themselves are duly allowed to be done;
If the whole of the world has its manner of rite
When the rites by their very nature become ancient,
In this way the rites will live long.
When the Kosmic Prince attains universal power
The ceremonial will be of the supreme nature,
And will find a time when all men may receive it.
When the rite of the Kosmic Prince is manifest in the nation,
The rite will gradually pass to the masses.
When, then, the rites of the Kosmic Prince
Dwell in the nation and the nation in them alone,
To the masses the rites have become of supreme origin.
When the Kosmic Prince thus gives his people the rite,
There remains for a time no rite, no rite.

Inasmuch as his mind has become pure, It has given birth to integrity, Inasmuch as his firmhold has been established, It is preserved and refreshed in the world. The wise rulers are always just; They do not contend, and they have no need to compete. They never lose what they keep, for they have given everything up. For their spouses and children, they alone need be sacrificed for long. For their fathers and mothers, they need be left at one's side. Because they are true, generous, and close-hearted, they inspire respect. Because they are like the ocean, they are invisible to the world. Therefore, when people return to the unity, they do not try to grasp at the former, and the latter. They do not try to shape the former, and the former remains as the present. Therefore, the person who strives to be virtuous, becomes virtuous; the person who gives up will give up; the person who is close-hearted will be close-hearted; the person who respects the natural order will see no confusion. He will receive the natural order and be one with the natural order, which, he will realize, is neither very great nor very small. It is from that which is neither great nor very small that the Wise Person has to reveal it. For this reason he observes that one who does not grasp the essence of Tao as Tao is and who succeeds in the coming of Tao is enlightened; and one who succeeds in achieving Tao becomes a follower of Tao; and one who accomplishes Tao does not care to know its Tao. The reason he chooses this as his knowledge. This is because he cannot do without this.
