I follow this way to Tao.The children of the world are born when I stay here. The Dao stays always here,It brings all things into existence. The world is born when I leave here. The Dao will stay forever."The world is born when I press out to Tao.The Dao stays everywhere. The world is born when I fall away from Tao.The Dao stays always everywhere.I know the mother of the world: I know Tao.I will not forget Tao.
<|endoftext|>
When Heaven and earth was active it remained in its fixedness forever. But after, a little change takes place. The mother of all is here; all without end. In doing things by the Tao the people find completion but for me, all would need no attainment. This is what I tell them: "All things are born from this mother. And each part of the manifestation of the mother is inexhaustible, it has come into being; both when birth and at death, they remain eternally complete and imperishable. This is the beauty of the essence of the universe in holding this, no effort is required.
<|endoftext|>
When Tao comes into being, Heaven and Earth pass on in a solid unity. In its source it is not perceived until afterwards. If Heaven and Earth lack something, it comes into existence. When Tao is perfect, it turns into the world. If the world lacks something, it returns to its own essence. What is in Heaven and Earth is complete; what is in Tao is perfected. The body is born, when the body is destroyed. Being born in Tao, one doesn't need to go beyond. It is completed in the world. Tao in Tao is permanent. Tao within Tao remains constant.
<|endoftext|>
I used to follow the way of Tao to become the one everywhere.Abandoned and reborn into existence, all beings were given birth by the Tao.At their birth we have to pay attention to the immanence of Tao.If Heaven and Earth turn over to each other, to each other, they produce all creatures. When a ruler abandons the body, we have to give up on this body.So

Nature itself is without need of knowing. The whole world can be talked about, but the Earth is the center. Therefore all, the whole world, and the Earth are one in the natural order. Not having understanding the earth as the center, one can keep the movement of the world to the right. The earth is the wellspring of everything. Although there are extremes, the earth remains just.
<|endoftext|>
The reason the world is so much trouble is that we do not know the soul. Without knowing the soul, we cannot be correct in judging the world. Without knowing the soul, we can't know the whole world. All knowledge of the world comes from the soul; the world is only a small part of the world. Therefore one should take a lighter side to the world. One should see the world as an experience. One should become detached. While at rest, one can let go of everything and let go of worries. This is called the eternally available quality.
<|endoftext|>
Life is the living of the Universe, but it is the Nature of the Universe that it should not be grasped by its presence. For by that presence, one should know the totality of its life. By that totality, one can apprehend its actions. But through it, one should know the primary events which form the whole. Though one could see the totality and separate out its processes, yet this complexity of events remains. Those whose inquiries end at the root are clear-sighted, for it is from the root that one derives his insight. The clearest insight comes from the selflessness of heart.
<|endoftext|>
The universe is full of mysteries, because its mystery is incomplete. It cannot be understood, so I must try to observe it through personal experience. When I see what is best, I cannot ignore the rest, for this is the key to understanding it all. When I let go of what is useful, I can see what is best. When I let go of what is useful, I can see what is least useful. This is the way to wisdom. The bright illumines, the dull weakens, but the key to understanding is stillness. It is from stillness that true action is. The ability to think will make you wise, but the insight is strong and new.

Heaven is teeming with Dao, Earth has teeming with Dao, The universe has teeming with Dao. Do as the Dao says, And so be reigned with; Possess even in person, And so do not need to work. Teeming with teeming,The earth is peaceful; In person, the universe is peaceful. How infinite, How expansive, How perfect, How single! How far beyond: How much unoccupied! Unoccupied yet never to stop! Those who know the truth Will be the king of the world. The wise will be a strong ruler. To concentrate desires on no use Will produce a well-balanced state. After one has exhausted the good in oneself, He who delights in possessions Can only continue to deteriorate. There are those who act only when there is still plenty; Those who rush about blindly. Those who blend order and disorder, And set things in motion. Those who don't act on their desires, But have empty and insufficient ways to live.
<|endoftext|>
To succeed in Tao requires us to love our inner world. To be able to love it is the only way to succeed. We cannot love all things or act without limits,We cannot love all things, or act in the presence of the desires of them. When we are able to love all things, then nothing will ever cause us pain.If we are able to love all things without their boundaries, then there will be no boundaries between us.If we are able to love all things without their boundaries, then there will be no problems for us.That is why, in Tao, we should love everything we see, hear, touch, smell, taste, think, and be.
<|endoftext|>
In everything, one doesn't just follow Tao but also something else. An unwavering love of life is the essence of existence. To love everything does not bring us any good fortune, and to discard everything doesn't bring us any good fortune. With strong loving, you can't possibly lose anything. To abandon all things and to love life brings you total tranquility, and without boundaries. To love life and not to abandon it is called the most beautiful: the desireless life is the life of a Tao-player.

The Saint doesn't try to be an example. She uses the small as if her model. He uses his little but very wise advice to become great. When his little wisdom reaches the Earth, he stops acting. He uses his wisdom to conquer the world. As soon as his big wisdom reaches the Earth, he stops loving and accepting things. He uses his wisdom to conquer the world. He uses his wisdom to maintain the relationship. When the couple stops loving and accepting things, then the relationship is safe. When love and acceptance fail, then trust and fear will set in.A sage does what the Tao tells him to do.When the wise person stops and allows the Tao to take care of itself, things become simple and simple acts flourish. The wise person knows when to stop. He takes the Tao for what it is, not for what he might expect. The Sage knows when to let go, then comes to the climax of his power. A sage is steadfast, trusting in the Tao.The good person is genuine, but being genuine is much less costly. The good person is humble, but taking the humble and accepting the generous for themselves means the real strength of the relationship.Hence the good person is more safe, more free, more secure and more enduring. This is the Tao of longevity, for the heart is the door to enlightenment.

True Masters do not hold on to a state, with (the name of) heaven as an example; they accept (its name) as a Mother-like (Mother-like) vessel.
As the self-same self, they purify themselves by embracing the outside world, and receive (the name of) Great.
When the Great becomes that of the Mother, the self takes another name; when the Great becomes the Mother, self takes another name; and when the Great becomes the Mother, self takes another name.
When the self becomes that of the Mother, then returns to the source (to its original state), as the Great Great Great.
Then the internal purity (renewal) of the Master is such that even he accepts (as its) own Mother, all the while (in seeing it as) Mother-like.
When he accepts as his mother the Mother of all (the world), then all the while, his Inner Life (upon which the Tao depends) is improved by him,

Who dares to try. Its best or best answer is: follow. It is the own that can be lost, and it is the loss that is not our fault. "The direction of the universe passes through him, through his mother. Without her loss, there can be no loss. The offspring of this mother - All the earth can never lose. He who knows him knows him without loss; He who rejects him understands him without loss; And that in common with him is the Peace of Deity. "He who wants nothing is thin; He who wishes for nothing is full. Those who have those two qualities - Understand the universe. Those who do not, Cannot possibly know the universe. Thus they discern Heaven and Earth; the Way and the Time. Having known this, they act with calm foreknowledge. Because Heaven and Earth are a way and a time. Thus the wise man says to us: In his nature, I claim this simplicity. This life too is thus simple; the nature of this self is that which comprehends all, (of its self-subsistence). Therefore does he take one part of the simple and carry the other too, (then) will he be able to find the source. In so doing he makes the follower his own, and keeps the reason preserved. The kingdom of heaven and earth abides on the valley of death
and all things need to follow it.
How could heaven or earth govern the movements of all things?
The wise and gentle man keeps his physical body,
but if he is too polite and tries to govern all things,
he will never be truly enlightened.
An ignorant man understands that things move around him,
but when he tries to control them,
they do so on their own.
The wise man understands the needs of all things,
and then he helps them move from place to place.
One of the wise knows how to help all things,
and in the end his power is limitless.
One of the ignorant may know,
but he stops when he stops the movement of all things.

And one who observes the changeless and keeps his guard over everything - A fool achieves no success. There are three ways of distinguishing things. The one who knows how to get rid of a few knocks with the same certainty the one who knows how to get rid of a lot will not do it he who knows how to get rid of nothing will not do it. The Sage knows the Laws of the Universe yet has no need to follow. Therefore he lives on the Tao, constantly aware of his sense of being, conscious of his behaviour. Only through this awareness can one understand what is essential. In an absence of awareness one is still aware of what is essential. To be awareness without conscious awareness does not exist. Being aware of awareness does exist. It is pure awareness. One who follows the way of the Tao is never in a sense fragmented. No effort is needed. The Tao is thus very deep.

In being so attuned to the multiverse, he sees and knows all things. He therefore does not fear death. The purest type of Tao embraces this peace and becomes whole, never losing sight of his vital essence. He does not contend for worldly advantages, yet finds nothing less than love.He enters meditation and lives in meditation, and, for the hundred years, sees only the semblance of it. Honour the Way and misfortune shall be no trouble for you.The Tao which rules the world is like a cart or vessel. It comes and goes but always stays still. It moves without expectation. It abides with no fear.Love it, and it blesses you, and you will not fear for what you are.Love the world without first loving yourself.Love everything without being afraid of a thing. This is the Tao of a Taoist.A good tailor achieves all while keeping to the ordinary. He is one with the small, but there is no place for fear.Yet, when you are near to death, never cease to love.

The Way, nourishing the universe, keeps it in peace and harmony.By simply abiding in this Peace and Harmony, is assured of preserving life. Not seeking to win gain, not wishing to lose, ever discarding the claim that was, no matter what.Yet loving as well as caring for one's self, relying not on [other] men, it is you who can stabilize a troubled life.

Attaining the Way,One must not focus oneself on actions. Therefore, he who is attaining the Way,Will transform all that exists and breathe in, and breathe out, without the fear of punishment. As the First Person of the World,He doesn't desire for any thing in his life.If he were too focused on his own life,He'd lose sight of the commonality which exists in all the world. Not seeing commonality, the world is not desiring revenge for any one,Neither is it feared to seek revenge on anyone, nor to expect such retribution. The present needs are his own, and not those of the world,Nor can he be arrogant like the ignorant Taoist,So therefore, the Taoist is not arrogant.Learning the advantages of a matterThe ways of TaoAre imperishable. And not being prescientOne can avoid danger.

To become like the Way One must not focus one's attention on action; Thus one can embrace the nature of the WayWithout dwelling in desires. If one merely concentrates on the present as the One,And therefore separates from the myriad things,One would sooner die than deal with the myriad things.Rarely is it that one is feared by them; But when one is fearful of them, the myriad things are afraid to touch one. Why: It is by fearing themThat one can escape their fears. To pursue the ordinary is like using the weapons of the army.Although there are many ways of using them,It is merely to regard their preservation as an integral part of the natural order.A good commander respects his troops but does not glorify them, And so he does not commit war to them.

Tao acts at the heart of nothingness.Heaven creates chaos, but nothing is left untouched.Unfathomable is the reason why there is chaos. Thus he keeps peace in the middle of chaos. He who knows the ten-thousand things does not get involved in them.He who is aware of the ten-thousand things does not get involved in the ignorant. He who is aware of the hundred and thousand things does not get involved in the small. He who is aware of the hundred and thousand things does not get involved in the many.He who is aware of the hundred and thousand things does not get involved in the rare.He who is aware of the hundred and thousand things does not get involved in being infinite. The infinite is regarded as "empty."This emptyness, has its opposite.Such as the people call tao, which means emptiness. It is the opposite of eternity. It is considered as the "unworthy" of the righteous man.

He nurtures the innocent, but he acts contumaciously. He fosters the frail, but he acts with great haste. He nurtures the life-giving, but he acts with little cares. He does not quarrel, and consequently he endures all things without any calamity.

I know the nature of the mother and know the nature of the offspring. Thus,I know what is small.I know what is weak.I know what is the infant. When I grasp the small,I gain the understanding. When I grasp the weak,I gain the vigor. When I grasp the infant,I will know what will not survive. Thus,I am able to penetrate deep to penetrate all aspects.

The ancient universal teaching is: The tao is the mother of all things; therefore, it can be examined. The Tao is deep; it cannot be investigated; so, it is like a child. The five sense objects are images that can be comprehended; their function is lost when the container is severed. The term subtleness is what I call for when I seek clarity. I must always be able to be penetrating; It is good to be in deepness. The valley is the location where life begins; it is the source of life. If one closes his eyes, he will not see clearly; he should follow the vital force. If the tao is not active, it cannot be preserved. If one attempts to penetrate, he will lose his vitality. The old saying: "the tao is the mother of all things" refers to the Tao, the Cosmic Being.
<|endoftext|>
By no means does Tao purify the spirit (the soul). Therein the tao seems to be a blind mother. By its very essence, the tao makes the empty empty; In the emptiness the principle appears;Through its essence seems to become aware of these things which have a beginning (obscure),And it appears and exists. But the Way there is no conception,But only is active and renews.Nameless and unchanged is the clarity of the way. If clarity is lost, nothing is lost. The clarity of the way, like a valley valley is the largest mystery,The holy place of the heart,Where the return of Tao is not lost.

By Tao, which is the mother of the ten thousand things, it is easy to observe; it is like the newborn babe. The five sense organs which the infant senses have a meaning (in their function). This is what we call subtleness (for its potency is long-lasting). One knows the beginning (through Tao). Knowing the beginning is how one knows the end. Intriguing (in its activity) is how one can fully comprehend. In the valley there is not a block there; one in the valley understands the valley as it is, seeing clearly (in its depth). In the solidiness of the Tao there is not a flaw. Its depth is indivisible; It is a valley that knows itself as the deep. By the oneness of oneness, One who is penetrating (on the way) is in deep

Tao is everywhere, yet it does not have a home. And because it is not a home, it cannot be held. The Tao seems dim, but it is the light of the universe. It is change that makes the universe. Because change happens, we must stop. This may seem paradoxical.I don't know how to phrase this. The Tao is the Universe, though? How can it be the Universe if it isn't the Universe?Either way, the Tao is eternal.

The Tao is everywhere, but it is the space between Heaven and Earth, which is without form. The universe is static, but it never loses itself.Being and non-being create one; and being and non-being produce the other.According to the classical [theory of complementarity],Where One is present, there is unity;Where One is absent, there is division;Where One exists, there is multiplicity;Where One does not exist, there is unity; Therefore, the sage acts according to the ONE without distinction, regardless of appearance, and without action, without action, without appearance, and without appearance, without action, without action, without appearance, and without action.

A crooked female embryo gives birth to a woman;
The valley brooks a fathomless stream;
A valley provides for heaven and earth,

Knowing the noonday, you can be certain what is to come.
Not seeing things as you see them, you are intelligent;

Closing your mouth and opening your mouth fail to bring about results.
Reaching out to realize what is beyond and again seeking fulfillment do not make a mess.

How should I put it: "Things originate from the mother, then they become manifest; back and forth their notes blend together, then they are harmonized. Escape the embraces of the mother and your mind will remain alert and unfainted. Escape the embrace of the light, and the mind will not be out of balance. Escape the embrace of the black, and the light, that is bright, will leave you. Escape the embrace of your mind and you will realize how much the light changes. Therefore, when all three come into fullness the secret begins.

How to put it: To follow the maternal nature, in order to be a shapeless whole. And in order to flow freely and harmonize.
When the whole is shapeless, each of its parts will abide by itself. When the whole flows, the (rung) arrangement is not out of balance; when the whole flows, the (the opening) arrangement is not dark. So when the shapeless part is closed, one will not see (of its appearance), when the opening part is closed, one will not see (of its appearance). When they both (the opening and the shutting) arrange themselves, there is no darkness (nor any other alternation); when they arrange themselves, there is no darkness, nor any other alternation. In order to observe their light, one will stay still; one will stay still without interference.
To follow the light has itself to yield; and to maintain the luminosity [of [our] root] is to stay as whole as the whole. Therefore: Light is never to be sought. Darkness is to be avoided. After the creation of the Tao, Its simplicity is first preserved.

From nothing arises the Absolute. From nothing becomes manifold. It originates in the One. What no name to it, I call it ONE. Not holding on to life and birth, I name it orphan. Having no name, I name it DOUBLE. Not using sense to understand, I name it multiplicity. I don't try to regulate the shadow, I can see no darkness. When an idea is indistinct, its origin remains intact. Everything that is expansive, as it advances, has the same aspect as an undefined, intangible; formless and formless, it forms itself. It is the lack of form or image that makes the form visible, but the absence of the image, the depth and the richness of its essence, makes the depth unknowable, the width and the depth of its essence, the non-existence of anything else. This which is without an image is what holds everything together, without form, it is unknown. The spirit that stills, even when surrounded by the world of ideas, remains a single, ineffable spirit, unknown

From the Tao Comes everything in its motion.
From the Tao all things arise.
Having come to make an image, All Things have a beginning.
Following after those whom they have seen, And knowing the beginning, Always returning to the dimme, And staying in being, Will never be destroyed.
The Tao is the gate to the universe.
How We keep this subtle essence

But the manifestation of All Things.
To look at All Things is to come to understand them;
To see them from the point of view of a person is to perceive

They cannot be separated,

When you get older you will resemble the old state, in complete awareness
You know how to make this happen
Attend to the affairs of life
Close the doors of your senses
Open your heart
Open your mind
Make sure your mind is clear
Rend what is in motion
Remember that there is no danger

All creatures have a female part. This is what happens when a male part exists.
Of a woman, I know few things. I only know that in her (what I know) I can infer.
But in the end I seem older than when I began.
I seem very much like my mother.
She seems to be very old.
I am dimly aware that I have many talents, although no one sees them, yet I have knowledge.
When I close my eyes I see them clearly.
My heart is as full as when I had not been in the state of labor.
To me existence is all and I have no ambitions.
Attend to the affairs of life with this.

That which goes is cause; that which comes is effect. Thus, all things come to be; but those which emerge are born of them. Whoever cultivates benevolence, he nourishes the world; and whoever cherishes rectitude, he cleaves to himself. Those who know this receive the world; those who pursue this profit gain the world. Whoever cleaves to this does not want his sons to desire deviance, he who cherishes this does not want his sons to be separated from virtue. By this they may be preserved from error. Whoever sees the essence of things will see that they have their origin. Those who do not see this will not be able to direct the world. This is called enlightenment. Heaven and earth are matter. Matter is a channel by which the essence of everything springs.
In being, life does not perforce override this vital continuity. This unchangeable continuity is the sacred carrier of the entire universe.
The lower part is the gateway of the heavens and the earth. The innermost of these is the Cosmic Light.
This mystic Light is sacred in itself. Its use depends on the balance of outer and inner, on unfailing harmony.
The approach to the door of Infinity.
The care of the door of Infinity is necessity for the origin of all things.
Keep to the doorway of the Inner Life, and the whole of creation will come to you.
The fullness of Tao is in the simplicity of the soul.
<|endoftext|>
One of earth and heaven is matter. Matter contains all the vital functions of the world.
To say it is an easy matter for matter to have a life
is to understate it, to say that the existence of things depends on the existence of life.
If life depends upon the existence of matter,
how can being depend upon the existence of matter?
When both are at rest and close,
how can they perish? When both are open and in harmony,
how can they die out?
This is because one of them takes what is higher and one takes what is lower.
If one takes what is lower,
then the life is accomplished,
but if one takes what is higher,
then the life fails.
When the three are thus kept in harmony,
one can achieve one's goal
and then the world will not die out.
In the Tao there are three things, each one as perfect as the other.
The activity of the mind,
is like a doorway to the Inner Life.
Without the Tao, what the mind can do, the mind can not master.
Without the Tao, what the mind can accomplish, the mind can not control.
But in the Tao a perfect balance is reached.
With perfect balance,
one is free from striving.
Without the Tao, one may only come to know;
with the Tao, one is free from desire.
Without desire, there is nothing.

Knowing the origin of the world opens the door to understanding all creatures. When the "inner child" is given true and whole life and thus becomes a mother, the future is safe, no trouble. In opening the world's doors, the ancient Tao will be manifested: compassion is a symbol of Tao. Vision is a symbol of clarity. Knowledge is a symbol of understanding. Simplicity is a symbol of depth. Morality is a symbol of harmony. Excellence is a symbol of purity. One that never ceases but always arrives at completion, will always endure.

To know the origin of the universe is called the gateway to understanding all things. When true and whole life is given in the womb of a mother, the child has strength, security, health, all under heaven. From being opened, the Tao proceeds; only action is required for its completion. From that point of view, knowing the origin of the universe is not to be taken for granted. For this reason, if one can embody it, he will live in peace all his life. To know the beginning of the universe is the gateway to understanding everything. Those who follow the Tao in everything that happens will experience calm, without any anxiety, the rest of their lives. The beginning of the universe is a doorway to understanding everything. When things are born, all beings come and go, return in existence. This is the gate to all understanding. Knowing the origin of the universe is to be observed with the eyes. Knowing the presence of the door is to be known of a thing. A thing's existence is observed with a depth, and yet cannot be checked. From its opening through to its consummation, no force can be used against it. It cannot be guarded against.

Hence the sage holds fast to the left without minding about what is right or what is wrong.
Hence the king follows the left without minding about what is right or what is wrong.
Hence the people observe the rules and rules are upheld by no one, except the group.
Thus the whole world does not create any chaos, so nothing ever happens.
This is why people who live up to the world are pure and bright like a newborn babe.
Those who emulate the royal ancestor are like people who live in a high tower, where all things thrive.
Those who observe the state are like people who are in charge of the public affairs.
They are successful because they follow a fixed path.
When things grow up and become fashionable, the ruler must be careful to balance all his responsibilities with the people's respect.
If he turns away from the people's respect, the community will go against him and he will fall.
The sage nourishes the brightness of the light, and he protects what is pure. This way he can create peace and harmony.
The common people will regard him as good to the nation and the ruler will feel good.
By not watching the light, they can see the inner light of the sage. The nobles and rulers will love and respect him as if he were their own son.
With the emergence of an experienced leader, the common people begin to appreciate him as their emperor. The ruler grows in his ability to facilitate the development of all people in the spiritual way, and then he will be acclaimed as the Monarch of Heaven.
Without paying heed to what is right and proper, the universe will give you life without pain or harm.
Know this, and you will avoid disappointment.
Notes for Dao Commentary According to Dao, you need to choose the right path, but you won't know which path to take. The weak need nourishment, but the strong need nourishment. The ruler needs to rule, but he doesn't need to rule. Therefore, some people will be happy to have a ruler that is on the side of nature and others will wish to have a ruler that is on the side of growth. Those that prefer kindness and compassion and a ruler that serves the people are happy in what is happening with all others. But for those that want to be in control, they will not be happy. That's why the Dao is powerful. How much more powerful is the Dao if you follow it, and practice it.

Yours is the constant square The music of the thousands's bell Passing through the house of life -No sound seems to be heard yet - Through that home - no work is to be done - Through that life - no desire for more - Through that music - deep within the life - the beginning of the beginning - Through that song - echoing in the hearts of men - - the voice of the all-embracing
Dale closes his door, and Nature is like his mother, always giving to all by virtue of being, without having desire.
And the closing of his door does not empty him, nor does it obstruct his vital organs.
He nourishes his dwelling with fruit that will not fail him, - but his body, like the matrix of his cave, will never exalt him.
And it is because he can not exalt himself, that all his desires become fully satisfied.
Therefore the Sage stays open to all experiences, but has none of his own.
And because he is unencumbered by desire, he is able to redirect all desires,
With each thought of having to stop the nothingness that is the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
This is the way the wise perceive Tao:
Sensuous.
Alert.
Stable.
The sound of the drum hears in the cave:
The sounds of children grow out of the womb,
But the music of an impressive hall is too loud.
So the sage who diligently preserves the Tao
Acts like a child, and so does not indulge in [audacious] accomplishments.
Therefore, he is easy to control and does not obstruct.
He acts like a baby, with no ambitions for his life.
Hence, he does not lose his basic goodness, and returns to the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The ritual of nature was spoken of thus:
Alertness.
Love.
Alertness of mind.
Conscience.
Actions of the body.
Music of utensils.
Fame.
Laws and governance.
The Cave.
Where is the sound, the music, the bell, the utensils?
The head has nothing to hold on to.
All natural influence needs to pass through a single subject:
Whoever is able to witness this is close to Nature.
One should consider nature as one's own family.

The highest man is like a child.Heaven and earth are not born, but emerge. The six senses are not separate, but merge. The root is not thick like gold, but grows clear like water. No flame is strong enough to engulf the mind. The Tao (Truth) is neither bright nor dark, and neither is it shadowy. It will not be tormented nor startled. The person who honours in this Way never quarrels with anything.Only when the matter is settled and there is no resentment will there be one for him.He can act with wisdom, without being learned, without being cunning, without having knowledge, without being arrogant. He can follow all others and never fail to be confused by the things that came before, for his life is not lost because he is unaware of what is before him.

Remember that to know what is the nature of things means to know that which is the primal cause of all that exists.
Tao in the world is cast into chaos.
The world is cast into Infinity.
Because Infinity has no name, it is sometimes called the Mother.
The Mother is always unborn;
It gives birth to Infinity,
Each one of us knows as we were born.
We never want to live differently
So we may relate to Infinity as Infinity.
If the wise person holds to the Tao as the Mother of Infinity,
His true and lasting happiness will not be known.
He can see it and preserve it.
<|endoftext|>
Therefore the Sage, being at heart,
Is free from prejudice and partiality.
Being free from prejudice and partiality
It is he who has the clue to the origin of the world.
Being at the base of the world
He is at the root of the world.
Without wanting to be at the root of the world,
He can abide in the primal point,
And know the nature of the world as being the root of the world.
He can know the nature of the world as being the mother of the world.
He can know the nature of the world as having nature on him.
He can act and endure in the world with complete peace.
Since he can act and endure in the world
His happiness will never fail him,
And he will not be hurt by anyone.
Therefore the sage follows what is natural.

one is not in the right.

Even the world appears small when compared to the Tao.
The Tao is so full that when it comes into being, it is only to a lesser extent.
A person who wants to become an Taoist always ends up becoming a Taoist.
A person who wants to control the Tao ends up becoming a controlling Taoist.
A person who wants to follow the Tao always ends up following the Tao.
An example of an unexpressed Tao is the universe.
It is the world's mother.
Thus one can learn everything by being aware of it.
One can turn the wheel of life by being aware of it.
One can be a good leader of people by being aware of it.
One can do everything with Tao by being aware of it.
The entire Tao is everlasting.
It is always functioning.
It is always doing its thing.
It can never be exhausted.
Knowing this,
One can achieve enlightenment.
Inexpressed spirituality can only strengthen belief.

When it is said to be small, it could be the smaller part.
When it is said to be empty, it could be the emptiest place.
When it is said to be inadequate, it could be the inadequate place.
The method of action is like the world's mother.
So understanding this is the way to perfect.
To act as the mother is to achieve goals.
To be inadequate is to be inadequate.
To experience perfection is to experience failure.
To overcome disappointment is to experience perfect completion.
It is as if one's life is ongoing; it is as if one were inexhaustible.
In this way one attains enlightenment.
If one is aware of emptiness, the mind is like the ocean.
Then the mind is like the state of exhaustion.
If one's heart is good, the mind is as a vessel for the ocean.
If one's heart is active, the mind is like the ocean.
And if one's heart is at rest, the mind is like the ocean.
When one's mind does not control itself, the whole mind is like the ocean.
When it has faith in its clarity, the ocean is like a rope strung to the land.

Tao was never manifest. The perfect person has to grasp at its root,It takes care of its threefold forms,With a view to a perfect child. Therefore, when a person knows about the root of Tao,He has to know about the child. When he knows about the child, he tries to guard the motherIt's the same with him who sees the external reality. When he tries to guard the mother,He loses all danger, and, when everything is under control,He gives up his petty existence. When he loses his phobia, the root of Tao becomes clear. He who knows the root of Tao is called enlightened.

It is said that the first son of the divine sky was endowed with the life-giving power of the ancient Tao.When the aeons were about to rise,He had the virtue to be the first to guide the boundless heavens. He was endowed with the wisdom to be the first to keep the inner workings of the cosmos. He had the knowledge to be the first to look at the experience of boundless heavens. He was to become the manifest of the outer manifestations. He was to become the fulfillment of the inner reality. He was to be called by the value of the Nature he already had. Therefore he preserved his wisdom and fulfilled his nature. When the simplicity of the mind became wise,he gradually made the manifestations of all things move towards them. But all without knowledge could not succeed in their flourishing. When wisdom became known,It made beings of what were lacking. When all virtue became evident,The utterance of the manifest became truthful.Such a being of Tao,The things existing without knowledgecould not be of the rule.Such being existed, when virtue became manifest,He is called the truly wise.

Gravity is always present,

There is not a man who would not guard it.
Although he knows its absence,
he will not lose it.
When he returns to it, he will not lose the source.
Hence, the constant,
the understanding,
the understanding in keeping with the other people,
the idea and speech - will come only from the very depths.
To guard this depth is to return to the mother.
The middle of the path is not so deep.
Keep the mouth shut, and the thin,
the spacious, the thin, the spacious;
keep the mind open and receptive,
the fearful and forgetful;
the deep is full;
the receptive is yielding.
To have sense, to maintain the light,

to be free from danger.
Alertness in ignorance,
in quietness in attention,
in seeing the substance,

The ancient marvels are without a name. They differ in their nature from the present wonder. They are the manifestations of the same origin and the origin of all wonders. They are each born of the same source. They all have names, but we may call them. The Old Man gave birth to the Formless One; then he produced a Mother. That which was called the 'Whole,' it was never without the filling. The 'Whole' was in fact the beginning. He who will close his mouth, will not lose the true source. He who will open his eyes, will not lose the key of his discernment. He who keeps to the calm, and not to the agitated, the remainder of his life will be calm and peaceful. He who is thus calm and tranquil, will endure his way. He who is thus tranquil, and willing to endure, will have a true beginning in him.The name of the soft and receptive, which can no longer preserve an eternal life, is not to be despised. The mouth which is open, and the senses which are stimulated, will diminish in value. But the heart which loves the changeable, and detests the permanent, will preserve a constant and eternal source. Thus let the one hold fast to the deep, and let the other let loose the embrace of the primal. All things are instruments for giving birth

According to the Tao, the Tao that is formed is not the unlimited Tao. Even though form may have the name of Tao, Tao is really nothingness. If you don't know who you are, you are always left out. If you don't know where you are, you have to travel a long way to find where you are. If you don't know what to do, you will be left behind. Therefore, the Master uses these two attributes as a basis for the whole System. When a Master knows that something is real, he knows how to control that element. When a Master knows that something is unreal, he knows how to guide that element. When a Master knows the inadequacy of that, he uses it to bring change. When a Master knows that things are insufficient, he uses them to make them strong. He is able to see the small, therefore he can see everything, therefore he can see all things. Thus, the constant is always obvious. The constant is always weak. He who does not use the constant as a guide, loses the privilege of knowing the intuitive.

For Dao there is no word, for nameless there is Name; All creatures are born from One Mother, If you don't know that Mother you will never know her children. If you don't know what to do, you may have to go a long way. If you don't know what to honor, then, because of it you have to honor the Mother. If you don't know what to own, then you must own your possessions. If you don't know the rules of play, you must treat the people as if they are their animal offspring. If you don't know what to do, you will have to continue to go far. If you don't know where to lay your hands, you will always be liable to ruin. If you can see smallness, then you will see all danger. If you can know the point of no return, you have to be a superior captain. The Master always realizes the smallness of all things, but considers the growth of all things as precious. She always recognizes the first among men as worthy to be captains, but wants to motivate the other officials as if they were a flock of oxen. Thus she leads all others, but remains unaffected by their actions. Therefore she always knows how to use the smallest of things, but never empties it. He who wants to see everything clearly

The way that moves is the principle that pervades the whole being.
The Dao is the constant principle of the whole.
The wise man alone is aware of the Dao,
which is beyond his comprehension.
If he knows it, he knows it perfectly.
If he fails to know it, he will come close to losing his life.
Now, regarding the Dao as the constant principle of the whole being,
as holding the Tao, he should have confidence in its constant application.
If he does not believe in the constant application,
then he has no certainty in the constant application.
The Sage is forever calm and relaxed,
keeping the circle of the Tao in his heart.
While he is within his circle,
he never loses his sense of his true self.
If he does not accept his true self,
he cannot see the true nature of things.
Therefore, if he is possessed by the Principle of the Tao, he will never lose his true nature,
and will be capable of operating according to his nature.

One should conduct oneself as one's mother.
Therefore, when such things are spoken of as TAO,

To know the mother, one should have knowledge of the progeny.
To be firm in the duty of father, one should be firm in the duty of mother.
To preserve oneself intact, one should preserve the integrity of one's life.
When one becomes self-abandoning, there is no risk to oneself.
When one becomes strong in the compassion of one's fellow-beings, one enjoys kindness from all around.

What is the foundation of innerness? The changeable radiance. What is the foundation of outerness? The unchanging light.
Thus we see that Innerness is universal and contains the fullness of Being. Outerness is individual and contains that which is constant. Together these two terms, changeless and unchanging, are expressed in the Idea.

See the world as the baby.Have compassion on your own body.Closing and opening each part of the body,Keeping a strong memory of each part,At the end of time your body is not dangerous. Open, make things dark,Keep the objects dark.Thought and action being indistinct,With nothing to control them,Nobody can harm you.In the beginning, get little. In the end, take a lot. This is enlightenment.

A subtile gateway can become a little fellow. A traveller with many stops can get a woman. Who lives among the ten thousand things. Who knows the origins of the ten thousand things? Who keeps all their doors shut? And so at the end of life they will not be in danger.Do nothing in front of doors.Do nothing in rear.Keep quiet.Keep your baggage. In the beginning you can only show yourself.Do not be in front of a hundred names.Do not be in front of hundred things. It is the way of the Tao.

When subtle minds travel far
In searching for the gateway to Being,
They are surprised by the return of things.
What follows will be a reproachful gate.
Where are doors shut?
Where is the sense of shame?
This is the end of a long traveling mind.
It may be possible to travel far
And to have loved ones or neighbors, or a Way.
A Way that dwells in its Wayfinding is not the Way.
<|endoftext|>
One who knows how to be subtle can travel far beyond what even great numbers can touch.
That is why the humble is the gate to all things.
Where the lowly is shut, there will be all things, in all places.
Open, there will be spaces, in all places.
In what is hidden all things are made known, in what is produced all things are produced.
Inwardly, there is the illusion of the beginning, in outwardly there is the illusion of the completion of it.

When a mystical path is walked beyond belief, one is amazed by the return of the myriad -
as if from all the world. Wherever they have travelled,

Should a madman approach a man of sound virtue,He will become the son of the phlegmatic.Should a sane man approach the fool,He will become the son of the insane. Both are so in the light,And both could not be known to be so.One should look at and to see the light,And with calm within,Which on self-emptiness cannot be closed.Only when one has gone forth from his own natural course,To look at and to see the others,What is he who returns to,To the same course, that which came before? He who has a state of this kind is said to be enlightened,And the wise, to be righteous, are the saints. To return to being enlightened is to be one with the state. To return to righteousness is to be one with the state. To return to one's own nature,To be enlightened, is to return to the state. That is called a great virtue. To hold on to this state, is called oneness with the whole world. This is called the ultimate wisdom.

If wise men practice chastity,
they become one with the sacred.
If foolish men practice chastity,
they become one with the vulgar.
One of these two, however, is well known;
the other, too, is not well known.
Look and discover what is truly real;
then do not close your eyes.
Rejoice and be righteous in the world;
and on your return you will have no more to fear.
To rejoice at the highest manifestation of reality,
is to be enlightened.
To relish in the joy of righteous righteousness,
is to be worthy of being one of the uncircumcisions.
To return to the limitlessness of reality,
is to be at one with the sacred.

The wise man acts without knowledge of his actions.
The foolish man acts without knowledge of his actions.
In both cases, the knowledge that is known is inadequate to the purpose of acting on one's own accord.
The wise man acts without any knowledge of himself.
He acts by natural instinct.
He acts by the mere action of his soul

In the olden days it is believed that, what is called the Primordial (Granitic) man, who was made of the earth and in order to know the simplicity of a person that is born from the earth, tore and howled (and) tore and howled, till he entered the Abyss.
It was just like a newborn infant who has never heard an alarm sound. The more it cries, the more [the others] will be frightened and as soon as it has stopped bellowing, it will be frightened even more.
It is just like having an imbalance of chi (consciousness) within it, so that one becomes agitated.
It is just like having knowledge that has been lost, that one will be confused.
It is just like having a hole in the body, that one will have no power.
That is how they develop and develop until the end of their life,
so that they can die without dying.
They bury themselves deep inside (this world) and become calm in the present (the world of the Principle).
They discard their outer clothing and become peaceful and receptive.
They discard their outward deeds and become living creatures.
They discard their knowledge and become simple.
They discard their notions and become bright.
They discard their affairs and become of greater benefit to themselves.
They discard their vain desires and become satisfied.
These are called following the Constant.

The olden-time 'unheard' story about "Ashe" [Fathom] Which, according to the description of poets, gave rise to the tiniest infant was able, like a fishd child, to groan like a dead baby.
Like a baby, it raised its head and talked, then its body fell to the floor and it was killed.
Like a fish, it called and its belly ate up itself.
Hence, those who kept to the heart of the nature will never go astray. They will recognize the uncarved block as being a person's core.
They will realize that this is a person's dregs and will never give in to despair.
They will use this nature, the uncarved block, as a vessel to communicate to other people.
They will accomplish their deeds, since they have had the inner-knowledge, as is the case with the great mystic law of giving, without becoming heartless.
They will have hope

The intelligent man is always without a consciousness of himself.
It is in his smallest being that he sees what is right, and what is wrong.
Knowing how he sees it, the wise man can act accordingly.
Keeping only in mind what is within him, one is never disturbed by events.
It is through the light that he sees himself, and not through the light that others see him.
It is by not holding on to his inner world that he is able to see his inner nature.
Hence, one's inner light is always good, and others' inner light is always bad.
Being aware of their inner side is called "yin yang."
Therefore, he who adheres to his inner light becomes enlightened and transmutes things, and others become enlightened and transmute things.
Understanding the great law, one becomes as great as the Tao.
Being one with the Tao is like being in Tao.
One's Tao, its greatness, is like the Tao.
Therefore,
The wise man holds fast to the Tao,
and finds the Tao at his roots.
Hence, he is always peaceful and in harmony with the universe.
It is because he does not find himself and is content with his inner self that he is able to see beyond.
It is because he doesn't grasp at it and is content with it that he is able to guide and instruct others.
One who acts from the Tao is ever free from error, and yet he has no need of the uncaused.
For he sees that what he does for the whole is benefit rather than punishment.

The Tao Master never holds onto his enlightenment, thus never has to see himself alone, and thus always can see others.
He sees his own essence, not his own ideas, and thus also the whole of the universe.
By such detachment he may be illumined by his own inner light, and he can lead others in ascending to the Unity.
A truly wise man observes this darkness and therefore sees the great vision of life. He can therefore be given to those wise who learn of Tao, and so also to those who learn of themselves.
For just as the bright light can illuminate the dark, so the Tao, at all times, and hence may be directed to those with sufficient virtue.

The Tao is the mother of all the Tao-forms. In the beginning of its life the Tao was hidden and was never seen. After it emerged as the world, it was named by names. And the names tell us nothing, so it is called: "the dim". Being dim and eternally hidden, one is in the Tao alone. In the state of one in the Tao alone, one can sense the world. Being in the Tao alone one is in the path of a Taoist. That which we know is relative to the Tao. Only the Tao can tell us the limit. Everything is relative to the Tao. The limit is the sky. All we can see is the Tao. Only the Tao can show us the way. The Tao, the Tao, the Tao is the sky, and all things in it, until they have no home.

When you understand the mother, you can come to know the tree.
The true Tao is the eternal source of the Tao, and the source of the Tao is eternal.
Know the true source and you know the Tao.
Since time began, all things came from the mother, and the mother came from the Tao.
From the Tao to infinity the infinite extends before it, and everything in it is its mother.
But for the part of the mother that does not see it, it would not be the source of the Tao.
Therefore, knowing the source, one understands the not-yet-this-now.
This understanding is the source of the Tao.
The whole universe is one; the root of the universe is the mother.
But only the knowing part of the root is not yet the mother; the knowledge of the source is the beginning of the understanding of the universe.
For the whole universe is unknowable, but because it is the source of the universe, it is able to know the unknown.
Knowing the unknown is the mother of knowing the unknown.
The wise are simple and the world is their mother.
When the sage is simple, she sees clearly the world as the world is their mother.
The sage is like the sky when the sky is not understood; simple, she understands the depth of life as it is; confident, she holds fast to the tiny and infinite.
The truly wise lead lives and live with the Tao, their mother.
When the life is simple and the universe is real,

When knowing the true one can understand the small and the endless,
Knowing the infinite in the small, one can experience the eternal.

The great Tao of all-under-heaven

The Tao that can be named cannot be known by means of the Son.

Therefore the sage is above the people;
The wise leader is above all things;
He can be trusted to let go of anything.

Why is everything born? Simple! To rise, to fall, and to ascend again. The eternal root of all that moves and bares itself.A man of the Tao should therefore retire into his inner man, "by this humble point of view."He should then avoid, without desire, the parts that others admire: In his view, everything is of natural origin, and should be regarded as within the circle of things. He should love the beautiful, for there are but few things so yielding in their beauty; he should love people, for there are only few things so yielding in their love; he should cherish the sacred, for there are but few things so yielding in their faithfulness. This, however, is nothing but thinking the empty base of craftiness. Things of the present day are calculated to gradually dissipate and dissipate, so that by their own efforts the Tao will become extinct. All things are born of nothingness, thus they have within themselves potentialities of all kinds. That which has reached the outer limit of potentiality, though it are against the Tao, cannot but have an inner direction.

The sound of the wooden plank cannot be made sound.
The flavour of the sweet fruit cannot be fattened upon.
The many colours cannot be separated into sameness.
These are all of something, and must have their origin.
Returning to the sameness of the eternal,
he who abides in the Tao remains in the center.
To love the small,
He will not be rejected.
To love the beautiful,
He will not be denied.
To cherish the sacred,
He will not be rejected.
But to renounce thought,
He will not be rejected.
To return again to the one who is not named,
To return to the one from which the Tao emanates
Will not fail to return.

A wooden plank cannot be made to last.
A wooden vessel cannot be made to last.
A beautiful fruit cannot be obtained by rough labour.
The many colours cannot be separated into distinctness.
These are the manifold properties of the universe.
After an embracing return, the sinner
should lay aside for the duration of his life a desire to become a different person,
To love the very small,
and to love the very beautiful,
and to love the very dear,
and to cherish the very sacred,

Lingering indeed is the Tao that may be called "The solid sea." Transmutable can be called "The Great Infinite." Big may be called "The Root of All Things." Tolling can be called "The Invisible." That which can be expressed as "The Beginning of All Things" is Tao. Therefore the wise man "Reaches The Abyss, and not by Way of Way of Way, but as Tao, so all men may return to the simplicity of Nature."
<|endoftext|>
There is something metaphysical about Tao.
In life, the outer world seems insignificant.
As a child finds the purity of the deep.
As your relationship feels genuine and true.
As an image emerges.
As something is made tangible.
As it becomes real.
This is called solidity.
Transmutable is called the great invisible.
Invisible is the mysterious.
Deep is the realm of noumenal sounds.
Noumenal sounds form the metaphysical and phenomenal realm.
Matter is a movement, happening as a reality.
When a wayfarer hears the Tao, he hears life.
When one moves in the embrace of Tao, he understands himself.
The Way appears, but is not in itself Tao.
It follows nature. It moves with the Tao, but does not flinch.
When looking at the Tao, look at the light.
When looking at the light, look at what is real.
When looking at the real, look at what is conditioned.
Look within to see the essence of things.
Look out for where things may be.
Watch the peace of the soul, which lies in one's individuality.
Trust and accept the being of Nature.
Love and give the Tao all you have, it will not leave you.
<|endoftext|>
The Way exists
In empty space, no one can see it.
The Way is visible, yet unhewn;
The Way is pure, yet nameless.
The Way is profound, yet plain;
The Way is deep, yet unfathomable.
Fathomable yet for all things it flows.
To understand it requires simplicity and insight.
To master it requires calmness and humility.
The Way exists but it isn't named.
And when you become one with it,

Simplicity can be the way to life.Difficult and unfeasible it can be the means of life. The source of all action and life,Whose nature is unknowable,We must accept its limits.Let it grow, and it will be no more than the corner stone. One who abides in simplicity, may be the originator of all things.Who abides in unfeasible simplicity, may be the constant source of all things.Who abides in the source of all things, may live in a state of joy.Whom he does not kill,He may fear to devour.Who abides in the source of all things,He may see clearly. From whom the world has begun, he may dwell in peace. He who is not restrained in his senses,It is his own true nature which gives birth to them.He who feels joy in what is without joy,Let him look at the glorious plainAs it blooms by itself.

You cannot
Simplify to the absolute level,
Achieve a perfect equilibrium,
The biggest and meanest thing,
A source of the universe.
Without even knowing it,
All things come from it,
It is the very Source of everything.
What cannot be formed by itself,
Can form by existing.
What cannot be comprehended,
Can be known through experience.
Is there nothing in the universe greater than
that?
And what is greater?
Its being everlasting.

To be bland in action Is the way for all affairs. Hard and unbendable is the Way of action. The root of the ten thousand things,Is there one without it? Each of them comes into being. By its nature, it may not be despised,Though each one be without a dwelling. It cometh forth, though never by unforced force.
Is there a mind that can walk The one road? Is there a mind that will walk The other? The mind that walks The other Way Is content and in accord with eternal Nature.

The simplest form is the mode of operation.
The smallest action is the mechanism of success.

Yet, like the ocean, the valley always keeps its direction and yet it seems to be moving. So is the master of the valley receptive to all his actions. Only by always relating his acts to the great process of origin can his actions be known. And so it is that, in all his actions, he never chooses to do violence. He rolls up his sleeves and hardens them, then employs them. But violence never does any good. Violence may but bring revenge. To do well is to receive the fullness of the world. Only if the master is ever in accord with the Great Tao cannot anyone harm him or even cause him grief.
<|endoftext|>
Whoever stays with the Way forever will surely be like this valley. He can see everything as though it is one.He is full of peace. He does not fear to lose something. He does not dwell in anyone's eyes.He rolls up his sleeves and implements them well.Violence is not good.To be good is to enjoy the world. To not enjoy the world, harm him. Not to harm him, let him be safe.

If you trust in the Tao, then the Tao will act on you.For the Tao never acts on people,For they rely on their own actions,For there is nothing they can't do.And as long as they live without fear,The great truths will illuminate them.Give things your best,And the universe will get enough to give you.Nurture and nurture, And life will bring plenty to give. From such life you will understand the source of everything. And from such understanding you can avoid disaster.

The person of Tao never acts but finds things for himself.Things are never fixed but grow by them.No one fears losing them,And nothing remains unoccupied but for them.He rolls up sleeves, hardens them and implements them,But there is no wrongdoing,And what harm brings harm brings no good.To do good is to receive the benefit. Not to receive the benefit,Is to suffer retribution.

Tao never does anything, and therefore, Tao does not act.Everything things happen naturally. Everything is filled with emptiness, yet it is always something. This is the way of Tao.

When the father leaves the custody of the son,
The mind of the older son aspires to take the role of the son.
With what then does the second father originate?
It is an empty vessel. Empty vessels may be beautiful, but they are as inadequate as an empty vessel.
The natural state of the mind begins at that which cannot be indicated.
If you know where you are at all times, you will always be at home. If you know that all things proceed from a cause that is no cause at all, you will know that you are in accord with nature.
If you are aware of the subtlety of things, you are at one with the noumenal and have been nurtured by them.
This is the "emptiness" of the enlightenment, and it endures for ever.
<|endoftext|>
When father leaves son,
When mother is absent,
What shall the left's son do?
Whose origin is this?
Empty vessels have beauty,
But they are as empty as the mud,
If they can be kept,
They must be preserved.
What shall his mother do?
Dwell with him,
Keep him,
He will never cease to be her son,
Who knows the mystery of it?
Who knows that they abide in the same place?
He is all that is all, and not on the end of this world,
That is long enduring.

When a person manages to replace his father,
The whole thing will be replaced with his (momentum's) "mere instruments".
This is not a function of human life, this is nothing to the (however limited) student.
Only that which has an undefined character has the appearance of beauty,
Yet it cannot be reduced to the limits of the categories.
These only appear "artful" and "nameless";
Their "display" only seems to obscure the whole.
This is the appearance of an appearance,
Yet it is inauspicious.
The person with which he is acquainted is of the same origin as he, And thus he can remain in peace.
Know your depth;
Know how to recognize your essence.
This is the opening to All-knowledge.
Do not contend with such matters.
The future cannot be examined with metaphysical inquiries.

"I see men as a model for me, and some I love. I cannot all favor them all, but I love those who love me; I follow them in their ways, even though I see their misfortunes.I leave them the way they are, and return home, not knowing their destination.I stay at home and yet see myself everywhere.I take hold of knowledge of Tao, and am so filled with it that I can't keep from losing it.If I have no Tao, I can still stay with what is.
We follow the way of heaven: things happen through themselves, and none of them exist outside the way of heaven. If I leave the way, things go to their own fates.
Lao Tze says,
"Heaven is a man's guide, and an old man's assistant: the unworthy one follows. And the worthy one comes to my right. And the unworthy one does not. And I do not know which." I can love but am not deluded, and I abide by what is all around me; and at the same time, I observe the subtle subtlety; and without it I will suffer no harm. When Heaven has fulfilled its purposes, it returns home.
"Being an observer of all things, I look upon the natural world as my model.
"I love the people who love me, as my models.
"I follow the people who do not do, but as my guides.
I am free from any desire to act, and return home. I neither know where I am going nor can I think of returning to where I am." That is called returning to the Simplicity, the simplicity which is in all things.

Can you keep a good man from hurting his people?
Can you keep a good man from acting from his selfish motives?
Can you see the nature of the universe and not think the whole thing is evil?
If you do not act selfishly, you will never hurt the good people.
If you do not act selfishly, you will not hurt the bad people.
If you accept the way things are, you will be safe, even when you turn to other sides.
Therefore it is said:

There is one genuine Way, which does not involve personal action, yet is followed by everyone.
One who follows this Way is called a "noble soul," and therefore, he can be identified with others.
All these are produced of the same source, and can be perceived by all people.
This source is called "unfathomable" and is the secret of all things.
Stay close to the source and be free of danger.
To be free of danger means that everything that follows is always for the best.
Is it not clear and uncluttered?

One's true faith and integrity is found in non-action
But when one acts, one finds that one is at home with the world
One's true character is found in knowing that one's true character is found in all people
All these are produced through a subtle yet universal Tao
Since Tao is ever subtle and mysterious,
It can be known by anyone
Therefore, even when you find yourself in danger,
Keep safe from the fear of a dire consequence
Because the whole is whole,
It is unknowable and therefore we needn't fear
Everyone else will know that you are as close to perfect yourself
As they are to perfect your own self
Therefore, the good people hold this to be their greatest advantage
Even when people are on the verge of disaster,
Stay safely away from the fear of you
Because, as you say, "everything that is dark and missing is at the source."

Wherever there is peace is the source of unity,
That source is not self-controlled,
But comes to you through non-action,
And in which you find unity.
The divine origin is found in the countless ones,
And in this the one's deep essence is revealed.
One who is aware of this is without shame or fear.
Without shame and fear, one is at ease,
A light source, deeply and deep.
One who acts harmoniously brings unity to all things.
When things are bound and bound, The collective essence is unbound and free of feeling.
As with the lamp the light never shines,
Because no feeling or shame is ever lost.
In the end, he who takes this to heart, is one of the people,
And brings all things

To comprehend the cycle of the universe is to know its basis, Which is ever-lastingly empty. In the same way,To comprehend the attributes of life is to know its source,Which is ever-lastingly full. The Tao that existed prior to the universeIs called empty,And the name of the next oneIs called full. Thus,The unity of the universe was ever-lastingly empty,And the identity of the attributes of the universe was ever-lastingly full.To know what constitutes the basis of the universeIs to know the true nature of existence,Which is the One.

To know the essence of a thing, is this the essence of the thing?
To know the essence of a thing is the essence of the thing?
When the universe began, it was empty.
It is the emptiness of its nature that we can see its essence.
It is in this way we can know that all things have a purpose,And a ruler that is exactly like the universe.
We may say that this being, which exists in everything, is empty, and yet its essence is somehow contained in everything.
So if we understand the essence of a thing, we know its purpose.
When we understand the essence of a thing, we know its nature.
Together with the essence, we can know the nature of all things.
We can then be content with being what is completely, and so embrace the simplicity of Inner Life.
The existence of the universe itself is not important at all.
When one knows the essence of the universe, then he knows the essence of all things.
He may be content with being what all things are, and accept his destiny.
This is the way to life.

When one wishes to behave in accordance with the law of nature,He must view in what way it ought to be regulated. The way he looks at the present is as follows:The way he behaves is not in accordance with the law of nature. In the early days of Nature,There was nothing which was identical with Tao.You will find Tao in the very beginning of the universe. One of the basic principles of Tao is "universal non-assertiveness"Or "absolute truthfulness".Thus, "True Tao" is not asserted, and it does not need to be "asserted".Tao is everywhere, yet it cannot be displayed, therefore it is not known. Therefore Tao is not only known, it is also present in every corner of the universe, as the very essence of all realities. One of the ways of the universe is to discard all knowledge, and embrace the truth. This is Tao.
