Look before you leap, and say no!How far can your recklessness go? How far your distress go is still beyond the ability of human nature to control.Consider what's happening right now and remember that nothing will ever be the same.

Always conscious of action,Yet yet still it takes its origin in the very tranquility of mind. The sage stays away from all,Yet he does not miss what is going on here.Is the mind always calm and placid? Is it always dull and dull?By degrees it becomes turbulent,And through its agitation,It gradually bleeds itself. When the mind is still and alert,It's not excessively conscious. When it begins to act, it does not add to itself. When it is annoyed, it doesn't explode. And if the thing who exists does not push it,Where will it lead? Therefore, the ancient Tao of the Tao of Life is to hold fast to the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Tao of the Heaven's.

The Tao Way, lasting all things, without opposites, cannot be described. The Tao Way is as fixed as a pillar, that a desireless entity may escape a shape. The Tao Way does not desire what has been brought into existence. The Tao Way brings everything about. The Tao Way does not dwell in distinctions. The Tao Way is non-descript. The Tao Way gives, without attachment. The Tao Way holds fast to the Way of Nature, of life, without claiming fame.

Always knowing,Everything going is eternal.Always discerning,Everything going is transient. If you always see what you need to see,How many things you have not looked at,How much you have missed. This is how each one is born and rises again.Without need to seek,Do nothing.Follow without ever putting your trust in any.Be one with all.Now in the past,Within the 10000 Individuals,They had given birth to a multitude of new things. All of these originated and grew by being born from the One.Through a Whole,Only to follow,To follow without daring to strive. This is how the natural way to nature is.A Worthy Way is one as one with nature's Way.

When we seek knowledge, we must be patient. When we gain knowledge, we must be patient. When we lose the knowledge, we must be cognized. When we act and neglect, we must be cognized. When we act and fulfill the task, we must be cognized. When we act, then find out how it is done; when we act, then find out how it is done, and so we begin again. When things exist and become perfect, they return to their original state.A man anxious to know things, will ever have to act;And a man anxious to know his work, will ever have to work. The one acts, the other asks. The one works, the other asks. This is why they who learn to act always act, and those who know their work always work.He who learns to be in the now returns to the world of nothingness.

Knowledge and experience are correlative. The "Knowledge" is like the "experience" of something close at hand. One who, learning something, has been far removed,And who returns to that which is is made [at home].One who, through seeing something, sees things other than what they are, and who returns to that which is has is entirely severed,The "Experience" is close at hand. One who sees, and who returns to reality; One who experiences, and who returns to the essential; One who sees, and who returns to the one;One who sees, and who returns to the experience, and so on, on and on;A process going on all the time.Everyone goes on in the present, with effect after effect. As the principle of an idea changes, so do its manifestations. The unity of time is itself of a substance and part of something else. All action in the world flows from the experience of action,The unity of the world is subject to change. The substance of the world is infinite. All phenomena follow from it.The universe is all that happens. The action of the world takes its material forms. All matter takes its action from the experience of the experience. The subject takes its substance from the object, and so on, through all the way.It is the change of experience that leads to change of subject, and so to change of experience. The work of an observer takes place according to his nature. His subject takes part in his experience, and so to him all

Expend too much on building but you will be left behind
In feeding the people but you will not be satisfied
Collect a large fortune but you will not be rich
Exhaust the natural energy but you will not be alive
Then settle for the unknown because you will not be satisfied
And if you have attained the natural, what will you do?
If I said to you to be moderate and sparing I would be giving you an empty place to crawl

The skillful user must be satisfied with nothing. He must not pay attention to what is going on in the world. He must not think about a thing in itself. He must be content with what is already in the world.Because he is content to be content,I can't tell where he is coming from.Inasmuch as he teaches the word of all people, he goes nowhere. He teaches what is not taught, and that's the whole lesson.

The worthy man who diligently distinguishes good from bad serves but cannot attract to himself everything that has to be taken away from. The wise leader who rejects dissembling and renounces self-importance serves but can not complete his policies. The man who serves the people leaves nothing undone for them.Only when he is satisfied with his results does he give them value. When a master leads his people, he is not present to their needs. He who knows when to leave the matter of affairs is ready to follow directions from his lord.

You must pay attention to the subtle ways of even the slightest pause. You must be beyond that where you would overlook the hundred and hundred other things coming into being.
And when all these come into being, you become aware that they all end. Do nothing for them; [else]you have no need to follow the others and their actions.
If you truly want to complete your plan, follow the clear direction to the end.

To be always fearing causes trouble; a man's desires force him to do, so he does not know why he fears them. To live in constant fear, he loses the ability to become fearful. When being afraid, he becomes by nature more and more afraid of his own fear. This is how to die: by becoming one with his fear. This is how he can lose his life.

At present I long to remain calm and silent, to always be outside feeling and talking. At present I long to be calm and quiet. At present I long to stay hidden from all people. At present I long to have no fear. The Tao that creates a mind of tranquility and quietness resembles nothing else in the world. Its nature is such that it never inquires of its own accord: not asking for the questions, not asking for the answers, not dwelling for the answer, not knowing the answer, not making any mark upon it. I see that this being true only of itself, I am able to maintain peace and quiet without even a trace of compulsion. I see that this being true of itself, I am always able to accomplish my tasks without the slightest anxiety. I see that this being true of itself, I can even be silent and unassuming, always the master of myself and my work, without requiring from others to be anything. How profound the Tao is! Nothing in the world can compare it to it.

I leave no track of what I have done. That is why, even though I alone have done it, I am remembered. I am known by those who follow my example, because of my following the natural order of the world. The good do good, and can be done without ulterior motive. They can start a business, and others are ready to accept it. They are good at taking care of their bodies, for they live on the earth. Their care of their health, also, is due to their constant nature. In order to maintain their good order, they will be old men. After their socialization, they can transform themselves into things. They can bring more knowledge into the world. This is the way of the uncarved wood, the natural order. A leader who becomes good at the art of walking will transform himself into something solid.

Get rid of all that you have and it may get you.Be rid of attachment and it may get you. This is the most important:To know that which is infinite.Without knowledge, you have not known it;Without attachment, you have not attached it;Without awareness, you have not aware it.Without concern, it will be as you live.If you have knowledge of this:It will be as you live.A man who is one with the Tao is complete; He is perfect as to the soul, and what can be spoken about him.If you take up the ways of the Tao,It can be made to do any job,And you will go to old age.If you are one with the Tao,You are a thing which follows your instincts,And you have the parts which are real. This is the shape of the uncarved wood:The work of it's own accord.A simple model of the Tao Is a completed whole.A man who follows the Way Is a source of the Way;And he can be shaped into everything. The natural world:The Tao which can be shaped,So is the whole world.

He who overcomes the vices does so because he has acquired virtue;
Yet he who overcomes the passions does so because he has acquired fear.
The former justifies him; the latter justifies him.
The road to eternal bliss is through fearlessness.
The road to immortality is through non-action.
To understand the distinction, we must first know the place.
The place where there is fear is the valley of the dead.
The place where there is non-action is the world of Heaven.
Therefore, the sage keeps himself in a place where there is no fear and does his best.
He honours all beings by loving them without words.
To achieve his goal, he doesn't need to show off his merit.

In the pursuit of Tao everything is relative. In the pursuit of Tao we live in things. Things live in things and more. Things exist and more.
These words of Sages about being and not-being - we know them to be false.
Do we not honor the Principle of TAO as the principle of TAO, the Principle of the Principle of the Principle?
Forced to choose between action and inaction, which is to be despaired of? Either action is forced or inaction is despaired of. It is only when forced that the necessity is overcome, and it is only then that such desolation will end.
The home-bound, the wise traveller returns home. For an experienced traveller nothing is more important than returning home. For an experienced traveller, returning home has very little importance. For an experienced traveller, when necessity is overcome, it is only because he is no longer able to continue his action.
We do not know the value of these words;
We call them not-sage-like speech.

The wise man travels the world a hundred times, and returns home with every host.
The ordinary man travels a hundred times, and returns home with every guest.
What is that difference?
The traveler travels, as though he did not know where to stop.
As though he were confused.
This has not been he who has the highest value of our own words.
Only the true traveler holds on to his home.
Only the true traveler travels away from home.
The true traveler's home is the realm of nothingness.
The true traveler has gone out of his home.
The true traveler is indeed home.
He who acts without motive is not going to succeed.
Hence he who travels the world after the way of the Tao and afterwards returns home as he was, is truly of the Tao.

When the people reach the fullest in ancient years, you teach them that to be a worthy follower means letting go of the self and returning to humility. When the people reach the high in the nation, you allow them to become a nation. When the people reach the high in the world, you do not allow them to lose their independence. When you are in full trust with your people, no calamity or danger comes upon you. When you maintain your confidence, there is no danger to your power.

The superior person is at one with the universe. This is no mere illusion,
There are no illusions in his oneness with the universe.
He sees things like himself as they really are.
He finds that even though he has a mind of his own,
He can always know that others find him simple.
He could not be.
So, he finds himself simple.
That is what makes him a wise person.
This is the ability to comprehend how the cosmos works.
That is the ability to step back into the Cosmic being.
That is the ability to find his way home.
That is the ability to honor his needs.
That is the ability to die a natural death.

The Master's body is the Source of the world's Tao. He teaches all, yet is never forced to expound his teaching. He rules, yet does not force things upon people. He provides, yet makes no promises. He is always at work, yet there is nothing of him left undone. If nothing is done, everything is done. If nothing is done, nothing remains undone. The Tao's source is hidden. Not seeking to examine it, the seeker must be open to the image of it. Even the darkest mystery cannot be comprehended by the seeker. Being open to the mystery, the seeker sees his Master's essence.

Heaven and Earth appear insignificant to the DAO, Yet in themselves form the highest model of the Universe. His knowledge extends throughout the world, Yet he is most helpful to the ignorant. To the smart, everything is trivial; To the easy, nothing is left undone. The sage works, yet does not put anyone to work; He is always at work, yet he makes little of himself; He is always at work, yet he is not competent to act; He is always at work, Yet nothing remains undone. The DAO is the Mother of the Universe. She alone Knows the greatest lesson; She alone holds the greatest treasure. There are men and things but I see there is no principle.
There are ways but I see none have any standard.
There is government but I do not know what rules the country.
That is why I seek something that is complete.
The complexity of what it is to have the body and all the parts and desires can't be compared to the small

T'ang does not make things like it;
It conquers it without fear,

The myriad things live as they do without some constancy:
Men and things make things but at their own will.
The Tao is non-existent, but it rules all affairs.
How could the Unknowable force men to act on the Unknowable?

The Master rules without a word, and the Tao rules all things.
He can make no use of it, and yet it completes the life of the Earth.
We can follow but cannot make it; go to one side and you are about to go into another; there is no constant center, and yet everything will go wherever it is wanted to.

In accordance with the Tao, he never turns to his advantage, and, inasmuch as he can, he achieves his ends.
<|endoftext|>
Following the way, one will not be deemed the model for people. They will gain the things they want; but will not be shirked in the end.
From the perspective of the Tao, people are given what they want, and refuse to be afraid.
"When you have learned, there is nothing left to learn." Knowing nothing will leave you unqualified to do everything. It is to govern the world that you use less and less force.
If you have less, people will respect you and do what you ask.

How should we know success? If we listen and live in fear of having missed it, we shall not be successful in the way we ought.
How can we know that we succeed? If we learn the truth and live in awe of it, we shall not be tempted to contrive to recover it.
How can we recover the truth? If we laugh and say that it is plainer than it is, we shall not recover it.
How can we maintain that it is plainer than it is?
If we do not maintain it, our power over it will be insufficient, and that is why the Tao does not appear.

Seek success through fear, and failure through beauty.
How do beauty and failure relate?
From their very beginning, one sees where beauty and failure originate.
When there is enough beauty, I am not tempted to seek to find pain.
Where is the extreme?
I have enough beauty and has no desires to seek pain.
A lack of desire is as pain.
Pain is to be avoided by not striving.
Therefore, one who is unselfish can maintain the Tao throughout life.
How do you maintain the Tao throughout life?
You become conscious of the absence of desires, yet there is no desire to gain or lose.

Those who can keep Tao (Tao) in their hearts, as well as those who cherish it cannot lose it (Tao). Those who are proud of it, do not know what the other does with it (glorified) and who can fulfill it without help. Thus the great sage, following the way of the way,

The myriad things of yore would have been satisfied with being self-sufficient; and it would have been best for them, were the world without them, to take it upon themselves to contend with each other. They of old, I think, had had a preference for peace and quietude; and as that is the most unpretentious, and the most natural, they ever have been; so they now prefer quietude, and in it they are content to dwell.
Those who dwell in the valley of tranquilude, have been esteemed as a fool who comes from a wrong land; and they alone appear to enjoy rest and quietude, for the world would not leave them.
Yet if they had been the only ones of them, they would have been despised; and it would have been said that they did not rest, and that they did not sleep, for it is just that they had never slept. They of old, indeed, had a taste for luxury and wares; and of late they have had no more of them; and what is there left but this? It is in the breath that the Tao is truly lived. Without the breath the real Tao is barely discernible.
The Tao can be bent but only to the end, and when that end is reached the words can be without sound, when this end is reached the faith is as strong as a mother. No faith is sufficient to guide.

Knowing the Way and losing sight of Heaven and earth:the natural happening is realized,no wonder for heaven and earth, why they breathe? If you don't know the Way and you don't want to learn:Let go of thinking about yourself.Without self-esteem you can be free of desire to be the ruler.Fulfill the basic needs of the people with a flexible policy:Your people will receive the knowledge without resistance. After leaving them with no resistance, they'll learn to self-rule.That's why the Great King is like water and wind and the Earth:He doesn't interfere and doesn't give orders; but the earth and water only give their guidance and water can't stop them. The natural order is self-evolving,I'd like to know it and learn more about it,I like to work with Tao in order to lead,But there is nothing I'd like more than to take the place of Tao in the world and the world's own affairs.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows Tao keeps to it,And he who has lost sight of it never loses sight of Heaven and Earth.Thereby Tao becomes clear and new;He who knows Tao and does not take action thus lives virtuously; He who takes action, lacking pureheartedness, leaves his own selfishness behind; He who leaves his own selfishness behind, does not think, nor can he think; Therefore Tao accomplishes its task and makes him who does not want to be achieved. The small earth and skyIs without rulers:They know the Great Tao and the Great Earth,But do not desire to serve as its instruments. Thus the Great Ruler overcomes the people by himself and not by force; He who overcomes the people by himself and by force,he in turn does not serve to serve to others.

Receive the Tao and the world will have Heaven for you.
Receive the Tao and the world will have Earth for you.

It is in the middle that Tao and Taoism come in conflict
And these differ as much as the Tao's tracks.
Not wishing to own what Heaven has,
Do you not treasure your own life?

Those who study the Tao in depth can play the game of the World. Those who play the Game cannot compete with it. Those who compete with it, are no longer the good people. Those who become the bad people, will not be good people. Those who compete with it, lack all that it wants. Those who are defeated, will not be defeated.

Besieged though you are, all the creatures of the world come and listen to you
Drown in water! It flows back and forth until it is empty!Water flows inexhaustingly!Where water comes from is beyond reckoning!Where water does not come from, it is utterly void!Where water cannot flow, it is void of gravity!Where it stops, nothing is left! The sage (man) does not depend on his own strength! So he gets things accomplished!Sages are constant!People do not cling to their own strength! Therefore, the people in the world will become one.
<|endoftext|>
Those who study Tao will grasp the rapids of the Great Life. Those who hold fast to its Great Life cannot compete. Thus they can safely contend with this. Only those who do not compete, cannot contend with this. If they can not compete, they can not contend with this. Those who contend with it, lose their inner strength. If they lose their inner strength, the battle with this cannot be won. The loss of self-strength is an indication of failure. To lose self-strength, is an indication of being defeated. The king of a people is one of perseverance. He does not meddle and thereby he endures. If a movement comes forth which does not have self-power, it will not endure.

When all under heaven know how to treat mankind as they would treat a piece of fruit, and think of kindness and humanity as opposites,
when they learn how to name dogs and people as characters,
when they learn to say that a house is a world of virtues and a country a place of affairs,
all creatures of the universe will cease to act according to their desires.
Consequently, the Tao (everything) creates everything;
it does not separate into parts.
<|endoftext|>
Know how to treat mankind
as a fruit leaves?
Know how to treat the world
as a valley emptying into a river?
Know how to call dogs
and people
As chariot wheels?
If all of them were then to act like cars
then the world would be ruined
Then there would be no more places to live
And the way people would cease to act
would bring disaster
It's the same with dao
It's the same with all things
Heaven and earth act
with no conditions or cause
then they take their own course,
and no motive ever brings them
to disaster.
<|endoftext|>
When the knowledge of Heaven and Earth is attained, there follows that of t'o
Almighty;
As to what is called the dogs and the people
whereof the multitude thinks it empty of intelligences,
it is said that they turn to the tools of their lord;
The house where they dwell is no longer a dwelling;
there will be no more destinations to be led in this world.
The sage in affairs and by his affairs (manifest the remedies of things), takes no order, but acts without government, and all things can act as he will wishes.
He who has the Master's power
does not order or contend with men, and consequently (all things) go about as he wishes,
as they see fit; and when they get tired of it all, he lets them be.
In the same manner he will have to act with no counterbalance on the issues of the world.

When one seeks Truth, only some benefit is given; when one seeks Truth, it should be sought with utmost gentleness. When one seeks Truth, it should be dwelt on lightly. When one seeks Truth, it should be moved with little pain. When one seeks Truth, it should be withdrawn from. When one seeks Truth, it should be sought as a feast. When one seeks Truth, it should be employed lightly. When one seeks Truth, it should be turned away. When one seeks Truth, it should be treasured. When one seeks Truth, it should be hid; When one seeks Truth, it should be lost. Therefore,
One who seeks Truth should seek to find peace;
one who seeks Truth, should seek to find an end;
one who seeks Truth, should seek to receive;
one who seeks Truth, should seek to save.
<|endoftext|>
Achieving Truth takes being hard.
Living to the fullest is asking to be at ease.
Not striving for true peace,
Never want, never have need.
Peace from your spirit's presence, from your Self.
From your inner being.
A guide to all creatures.
To the sacrificial bark.
A sage to the ancients.
You will always find things beyond your reach.
Open yourself to and be not extinguished by things that are.
No matter how far you move, things will be there.
In this way, being hard and following truth is as true for one as it is for one to live a simple life and lead a house of honor.
<|endoftext|>
Do you want to be sure that you have attained the virtue of discernment? If you achieve this, you may be certain that you have attained the virtue of discernment; But if you follow hard-heartedness and thicken your investigation in the course of daily life, You may not have attained the virtue of discernment. For this reason, therefore, "Maintain on the natural path";  - To endure for ever, while being free from all desire;  - To have everything, while being free from all loss;  - To be the guest of the All, while remaining non-permanently in the state of indifferent abstention;  - To be the guest of the All, while remaining completely self-controlled;  - To take your places at the head of the country, while remaining continuously unknown;

By self-control you can let go of fear;
By self-control you can let go of nothingness.
By self-control you can let go of everything that is.
When the body dies, it will return to the soul,
When the soul dies, it will return to the body
By self-control you can let go of desires
By self-control you can let go of desires
By self-control you can let go of all things That are.
When your realm is in decline,
The spirit will die too, and the body will be reborn.
Though there are no desires,
For if you let go of desires,
Then you can let go of the body.

The self, do not die.
Live like self and you die.
Live like your nothing, live, and die.
There are no issues to be felt
Live, if you like,
In the life of the un-interesting but you die
Live, if you like,
In the life of interest but you die.
Therefore the virtuous
Do not act just for the sake of acting,
And therefore the virtuous
Act as though they were not acting.
Act as though they were acting
And yet they still die.
A person is in the realm of virtue,
If he wants to act he has to act.
If he wants to act then he will not succeed,
If he wants to be indifferent then he will succeed.
Not acting is evil,
The way of the virtuous
Is good and goes against the Way.

The "inner clarity" is that which prevents desire from arising in mind.
The "blossoming awareness" keeps the passion unbound.
To achieve wholeness:
Emptying the body and shutting the mind.
When the two becomes one,
The dark phase of passion will soon pass,
The presence of rest of the self will bring.
When the body can rest,
Mind comes back to the heart,
Before birth comes, the body becomes a different self.

Those who grasp their power have seen and the power of the Way does not appear. He whose mind cannot let go is attached to the mind. He whose mind is rigid is attached to the body. The sage retains her imperious yet her ways are bent. - Just observe the examples of that old Tao. You will see how a scholar behaves without ever practising Tao. He who does not practise Tao never practises Tao. Those who do not practise Tao lose their lives. Those who do not practise Tao gain their life. By this the TAO manages the spirit of life.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows power in the Tao can not be grasped. Those who do not know the Tao don't know what power it is to hold on to.Those who cling on to it will not be free. Those who let go are like butterflies coming out of a leaf-cutter.By not practicing the Tao, one is free of the Tao.Through practicing the Tao, one can become the Tao.Through never practicing the Tao, one will lose the Tao.Without TAO, nothing happens.Without TAO, everything happens. That is why the sage concentrates on TAO, and neglects everything else.As TAO exists, everything is completed.Without TAO, everything is incomplete.Without TAO, everything is completed.
<|endoftext|>
Those who grasp the Tao of Heaven can not be grasped, and those who do not grasp it cannot be separated. Those who cling to it cannot be free, and those who let go cannot be independent. Therefore the Sage holds fast to the Tao of Heaven and does not depart from it, yet without concentrating on it. Being free of the Tao, he will be without error, and will act rightly. Being free of the Tao, he is free of error, and will be able to act rightly. Without the Tao, Heaven and Earth will die. Without the Tao, Heaven and Earth will be perishing. The Sage reverts to Tao and reverts to life.Without TAO, life is destroyed; and the disintegration of TAO leads to the death of life.

When the body and mind have reached perfect harmony, All is free of worry. When the body and mind become exhausted and weary, Everything else has also become tired and weary.Where there is no worries, the inner world is free of worry.Where there is anxiety, anxiety occurs. When one's Inner Way is perfected,All goes smoothly, for life is peaceful and happy. When one's mind is fulfilled, all is clear. When the two are empty, one may choose to act or remain passive. This choice is spontaneous, and may involve great unrestlessness.Sometimes, being initiated, one can act, but should be slow and steady in giving and taking. This will not bring freedom. When the desire for control over All is excessive, chaos will result.
<|endoftext|>
When the mind and body achieve perfect harmony they are free of worry. When the body and mind are exhausted and weary they are free of worry. When mind and body cannot be kept at peace then it is as if they are unsettled. Thus the man of wise concern issues forth when the mind is unfeeling, when the heart is soft and jaded, when the mind is clear and resolved, when the Sage is ready to do. So long as man remains unrestrained he is subdued, and when freed he is neither unruly nor isolated. This is why wise people feel at one with all.
<|endoftext|>
When the mind is unified and freed from problems,
"Everything is at peace". When the mind is disordered and confused,

When the mind and spirit become pure and still,
"Nothing is out of place".
When the bodhisattva ends himself and unites with the Way,
"All things become human, unchanging and natural,
In the light of single Way".
When the body becomes soft and weak,
"The two come together".
When the mind becomes bewildered and distracted,
"The mind is lost".
Therefore, "In order to advance in enlightenment, one must put away the one, and put away the other".
"I let go of the one, and placed it in the karmic presence of the other."
Thus, the mind is freed of problems, and life is relaxed and peaceful.

Learning great things overcome a great obstacle. The great obstacle which grows old is not always useful as a barometer of a great "good" or "evil." Which is to say that even a great evil would have a stop to it, and so it continues not to cause great harm. Thus it is that I say:
The sooner we know that great things are difficult to comprehend,
the better it is to have them as a barometer of the great,
the sooner we can become good at discernment of the great things
and the better we can give insight into the great things.
The barometer of the great is gradually diminished until it is no longer the complete instrument
of the great, and the greater good is born.

How can human mind ever avoid
Facing a mysterious mystery?
Those that do
It's easy:
They practice breathing
And experience lightning bolt
And breathe in the end
So many!
They can't just hear it
So here we go:
What's this great thing of nature,
Oh wonder! Oh wonder!
That's the answer:
In matters of all that matter
It's better to be with
Than to grab it by the fist
But the latter's (though it's) better
With restraint -
And all will be as it is,
And so the cause of their happening
If it were not for the world's (how could they know)
Whatever their being
Everyone would be surprised
Too soon to experience it
And so the best strategy is
To reduce
Carrying on:
We should, we know, take
The trouble to
Be alone and stop,
But
That would distract us, and
Let our efforts
Rest
When they're needed
So we say:
"Too little, and the best is there"

The Sage did not deal with the great mystery of the Tao, to the deep end; he could talk about it all the time. The Tao Tao was all-embracing and mysterious. The deep depth of the Tao had become blurred and blurred. All-embracing and mysterious, just as it was when the Way was first issued: the way of making light. The Tao Way [shut off the way], and the Way became possible. Obtaining the Way, it is beneficial; and to limit one's efforts, it is to be impartial and free from bias.
Thus, the nature of the Sage is to limit himself to his natural environment and make himself as much spare as possible. This nature is that of absolute simplicity, and is the reason why it avoids all manipulation.

Don't let yourself be influenced by what others think;

How do we know it works?
Whenever it comes out right,
it comes out right again.
Whenever it doesn't,
we can't be sure.
Therefore, it comes out right.
How do we know it works,
and what do we mean by "work"?
When we work, we receive results.
When we don't, we don't get results.
If you work, you accomplish.
If you don't, you don't accomplish.
If you don't accomplish, you don't accomplish at all.
If you don't do it at all, you can achieve anything.
There's a reason everyone wants to be master.
The lack of such a master leads to confusion.
The greater your scope,
the more easily you can change.
The more ideas you have, the less you see.
Take something and lose sight of what it is.
Then you can see what's right around the corner.

When you act improperly, things go wrong.
Therefore, you cannot always be left behind.

It is because of this that you can go one step ahead.

For if one contends with another, there will be disagreements.
If there is discord, what will the worthy say?
Therefore, stop competing and learn to be content.

The sage seeks (pu) the wisdom of heaven, and, with every intent, advances (yüan) his carriage (hui). He stands in front of doors that are not always without-doorways, and knocks when none are left wide open.
He goes about the ten thousand things without interruption; he attends the creation without interfere-ment. He makes the five attributes exist without desire, and causes all things to develop according to their own dispositions.
So, at first, he has the confidence of no one; but after enough service, no one in the world will deny him. He is always ahead of all others in his diligence; he always follows the rules.
Now, if he acts for his own sake, he will do so willingly; but if he seeks the power of words, he will not have the patience to gain his trust.

The wisest ruler achieves success by [maintaining] his (the Tao's) center, without shutting himself in (ming yi) the center (wei). Still, when taking an ordinary step, he stays with the ri, yet there is no interruption, When he is building a house or setting up a farm, he sits back, yet no disturbance appears. At work he acts for the benefit of all under heaven, yet there is no interference from outside. Thus he abides in the circle without being separated, and though there are 10,000 things that are needful he does not fail to meet their needs. He does not inquire, and neither does the world know his existence. His presence is in all things without action. [Even though he acts for no one, yet he is self-sufficient.] For this reason he is regarded as one of the few.
<|endoftext|>
The sage achieves his goals with effortless control, and not trying to make an end of it, at the very least a start. Still, when he places himself outside a door, no one is there to impede him. When he places himself inside a house, no one is there to obstruct him. At work he operates for the benefit of all under Heaven, yet he is distinct from the people. He is universally known without action. As for retiring after achieving success, there is nothing one wants more. Because he makes his goal he has no purpose in wanting to stop.

If an empire can't take advantage of the virtue (wu) to take advantage of the Tao or the virtues (wu) to take advantage of business, they will be destroyed one day.
The highest virtue (wu) can be called the Tao (Way). The lowest virtue (wu) can be called Tao (Way). The highest business (lu) can be called business (lu). The lowest business (lu) can be called decline (pu).

Heaven is not quiescent, or constancy; it seems to be reluctant. It stands still and never seems to have moved.
Heaven is like water: we can see it form and froth at all times. It is flat.
Water has four kinds of movement: rising, going down, melting and flooding.
The motion of water is continuous. When the change from one to the other, the change of one will have stopped.
When the change of one to the other stops, you are left with peace.
All things live for use. To make use of life is to be alone. To live by use is to be self-controlled. To choose to be self-controlled is to have beauty. To choose to be self-controlled is to have ability.
Therefore, the sage remains static, yet constantly changes. To his eye, Heaven is not quiescent, it stills. And yet nothing does not move.

Just what is it that sets us apart from the rest? Profound, mysterious, and ancient, it is the Primal Harmony, the Great Cause. What is that? For it is great; it is ancient; it is boundless; it is everywhere. The Sage puts it behind and completes the Tao, just because he sees that Tao is boundless, infinite, and dynamic. The good brings benefit to others; the bad does not. There are traits which are good for one, and traits which are bad for another. Good for one, and bad for another. Good for one, and bad for another. What is good for one, and bad for another. Good for one, and bad for another. What is good for one, and bad for another. Good for one, and bad for another. Attaining knowledge is like the hunt for knowledge, that is to say, not thinking about it or even knowing it. Attaining Tao is like hunting for Tao. That is to say, the reason one gets excited about Tao (when not acting) is that Tao (desired reality) is so elusive that the noblest are forced to give up hope of attaining it.Hence Tao is unattainable. That is why Tao can't be attained, and hence not Tao can be attained. In the end, one accomplishes things by themselves. Making a goal out of little matters is stubborn. One can achieve something only when one has nothing left undone. By not pursuing anything, one never need to.

Watching is to settle the day's mind. Studying is to reach the goal of your mind. All these processes can be accomplished, but are nothing more than accessories to the natural process. You see that Heaven and Earth serve both as instruments of Nature, and as instruments of your mind. The mind is neither at rest nor content, and the interaction of these two processes is what elevates them to the status of opposites. Together, Heaven and Earth, act to make things happen, yet they appear to the eye to be detached, unconscious and unsure. This is why things happen.

We need only observe how good things are in order to settle our minds. We need only study how close they are to the natural state of things. We also need only observe what happens when these things arise. These two allow for our observations, but seem to go on in their own threads, unable to maintain unity. When they are separated, they are neither in harmony nor separate.

He who observes these ten-fold artisanships will comprehend the pattern of nature's relation to man. He will remember that their intermingling are often natural and that the relation between man and nature is bound up with a pattern of sequence. This sequence is actually quite complex and over many times has only been confused by accident. A further confirmation of this is that man's artifice is entirely superfluous. The nature of nature works on its own accord and is not opposed, in the sense that there is nothing which has to be opposed. Since nature never tries to compete with man, man has no need of defending himself against it. Man is thereby self-reliant. Thus nature and the pattern follow one another; both turn to nature but a parallel relationship is formed between nature and the pattern; both become reversed and return to it. The natural happens only for natural purposes and is not moved by the boundary of its own will. The constant is the foundation of the comprehensive, the invariable and the null. In this way nature is not made changeable, whereas the order is made permanent. The form of nature, therefore, is hidden, hidden and yet very manifest; it is known but not so. This is its great virtue.

The Tao, though long dead, is spoken of with a certain completeness. When a man carries the Tao-child,He will be guided by it.Do nothing,Then the Tao will guide him to the realm of the dead.Do as he does,And you will have gifts of life,And he will have life gifts,And you will have none. That is the way the Tao movesAnd is not the way for its own good.If it were, its favor could not hold the land.If its virtue could not be applied,There would be no life at all.If the Tao-child were the way-of-the-master,He would not be able to hold the realm of the master. And so he who carries the Tao-childCan never have the master's power,And the possession of the realm can never be the master's power.

He who has power over everything is always loved by everyone; he who has no power is always feared by everybody. How can a teacher love something when he has it controlled by another? Love the teachers of the Tao, and you will not want to own them. To cherish something does not make it possible to own anything.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao Master (Scholar) does not cherish his students; the Tao Master (Scholar) does not take the shape of his student; the Tao Master (Scholar) who gives the Tao does not style him a scholar, the Tao master who abandons the Tao does not glorify him.If no one wants to come to him, how could he then expect any love from others? Those who know how to have everything all at once are regarded as competent leaders. A superior man alone of all men has ability
without hard will.
He is able to stand before his work and to hold to it
without undue effort.
He is able to guide men to a way of action
without elaborating on their task
and without daring to appear cunning or clever.
For a supreme wizard, nothing is left undone.
He forgets nothing of what he accomplishes.
To him, all under heaven in his hands
holds no corner of the world.
All under heaven gives everything to him
on the condition that he do not meddle in them.
He does not strive for fame or glory.
In the end he is indifferent to everything;
He never stands out.
How great he is!
Can anyone compare?
He is a master of all under heaven.
He knows the way things arise
and flows and returns to it.
For the longest time he holds to it,
He doesn't interfere.
What is found needs no place to rest.
How it happened, I will leave to the future.
He knows where there is a difference.
All under heaven look up to him
and respond to his presence.

The Sage of old was true and complete, never moving about, and never needing to be told how to do things. Everything under heaven became well pleased. No wonder, then, that a sage can manage a country. He does not talk endlessly. He is not impressed by the brilliance of his ability.
In things his trust is necessary.
Always there is his daily recapitulation of what has happened, then the nothingness of his power.
<|endoftext|>
Irenaeus of old was wise, but did not live for his work, and therefore the world would be well pleased. The Sage is well balanced, though still in motion, and yet he does not show off his ability. He is very simple in nature, he sits by quietly, without words, and yet he hardly talks of himself. All under heaven are pleased with his example and (his) work. The Sage is careful to hold to his word, and yet does not boast of his ability. When things go astray, he makes nothing but right actions in order to keep them on the track. All under heaven look up to him, and make no distinction. When he is acclaimed, the world makes no distinction. The Sage is also impartial. The

Accept everything with open arms.
Live in harmony with all.
Work tirelessly, all things do for you.
So much work is superfluous; let it go.
Recognize value, accept humility.
Work hard, all things give you what you need.
So much work is redundant; let it go.
Keep the mind focused, be unified, and there will be no conflicts.
All under heaven is greatly benefited from so doing.
The Master honours nothing but does everything.
In doing so, it is always: no problems!

It is better to take no notes. Live in the moment. Take risks. Leave nothing undone.
What has been done in the past can be done in the future. Work diligently, then stop.
What you have done will never be abandoned. Achieve harmony, then let things be. Accomplish goals, then let them go.
Work with no purpose, but by doing, you won't fail. Achieve yourself, and you will be loved.

The natural Way (of the Tao) is the guide (the Way) of all,
not only of the possessed but of all beings.
It is of the Tao that all things have been produced,
and the Way that the things follow their natural course.
The Completeer conquers by taking no action,
But in all actions is not completed, And the Completeer returns, in the process, to the lower being.

to the Tao that all men embrace and use,
