Hear the Tao in all directions;
Hold fast to Tao and you know the whole world.
See Tao's splendour alone;
You cannot grasp the world beyond this light.
Endless and unspoiled, there is no end.
So can the seeker of the Tao be,
He knows without looking.
<|endoftext|>
Look out all the time but do not see it.
Know the world but don't use it.
Get to the center of the universe and know nothing.
Unfathomable, beyond understanding, it is no longer known.
Therefore, the wise are enlightened without knowledge.
The clever are clever without knowing,
They are highly accomplished without action.
<|endoftext|>
Hold fast to the Tao and you are called the Father of the World.
Know the Way and you are the Mother of the World.
How can the Way be the Mother of the World?
You cannot understand it.
You can only observe it.
Learn the Way and you reach the heart of the World.
You reach the heart of the World, the Heart of the World, the Heart of the World, the Heart of the World, the Heart of the World.
How many Masters have achieved enlightenment from ignorance?
How many Masters attained the ability to understand the Way without knowing it?
How many Masters ever knew when to take action without being found out?
To this day, the Masters with perfect insight are finding nothing. They are reaching nothing.
The sage is one of the Masters who is ascending to the next step.
He is one who is ascending to the next step because he is ready to step.
<|endoftext|>
Hold fast to the Tao and your life is called the child of all creation.
Seek enlightenment and you enter the world.
Only when you understand the depth and breadth of the world cannot you comprehend its endless possibilities.
What you don't understand is beyond you.
To know, you must be learned.
Know, you must act.
<|endoftext|>
Look at the whole body and see only the center.
But look at the Sage alone and you can see a manifestation of the world.
When you're alone you don't know the depth.
Then you're without understanding.
To have understanding, you have to know how.
To act you have

This is called insincerity, which is the flower of folly.
<|endoftext|>
As for now, the Sage (World) has no need to cast himself out, For there is nothing to cast out.If he is cast out, will the people realize what he looks like? If he is still, he will be a changeless changeless thing; But when they see his images they do not perceive them: Thus he will appear simple and unpretentious. If he imagines himself great he will be cast down; If he imagines himself an example, he will be cast down. If he imagines himself true, he will be ridiculed. These are the three illusory beliefs.Therefore he who knows and knows well, knows all things. Knowing things, he is in accord with the Tao. Having possessed the Tao, he walks in the light. Knowing what is beyond the light, he is so aware of the great light. Knowing what is within the light, he sees the myriad trimes. Therefore he says that he is enlightened by his self-experience, and thus illumined. The fame that is known by self-experience is its basic character. This is called having (in) substance; this is called being capable of being empty; this is called its being bright. These are the two great signs. These are not the true principles.
<|endoftext|>
Knowing that things exist, therefore: The greater is universal clement (knowledge). The smaller is universal nirvana (change). If the lesser-knowed conforms to the greater-knowed, it will not become the least: Thus the lesser (knowledge) is recognized in it, and itself assimilates to the greater (knowledge). The awareness of knowing is like the brightness of the sun. When one has complete knowledge, one is made aware of its light. It is in the light that one is drawn to different images, and finally, one realizes that one is understanding all things. This realization is non-self. Selfhood does not hold that position.
<|endoftext|>
The Complete One has no need to cast himself out (having thus become like a Kosmos); for he will see no one in outer appearance. If he is cast out (the Kosmos disappears), he will see no one in outer appearance. If he finds this to be his natural course, he is nothing in himself. That which he knows, he manifests; that which he

The master does not see his master;
the sage does not think his sage;
the "unread" does not live for those who live on the need;
the good does not rejoice over worldly goods;
the truly good do not boast of themselves;
the "unartful" does not make oneself ugly;
and so the vast universe (thriving) is worked by one's efforts, not by others' unassimilated work.
Do not take action without purpose.
This is a universal way of being.
This way of being is far-reaching and penetrating, it can never be underestimated.
So for one who has the Way:
how can you forget it?
"To be aware of one's condition," you can take as a teaching, "to be aware of the Way, as a positive teaching."
To be aware of the Way, is as useful as to know the Tao. To be aware of the Way, is as valid as to know the Tao. To be aware of the Tao, is as truthful as to know the Tao. To be aware of the Tao, is as simple as to know the Way.
To be aware of the Way, is as profound as to know the Tao.
To be aware of the Way, is as enduring as to know the Tao.
To be aware of the Way, is as fundamental as to know the Tao.
To be aware of the Tao, is as transcendental as to know the Way.
To be aware of the Way, is as perfect as to know the Tao.
Do you find the Way and the Tao more essential than finding the door and the gate?
How can you be aware of your condition without reaching the Tao?
How can you be aware of the Way without stopping at the end of each sentence?
Therefore, say it is much more profound.
People find it much more profound.
People love to say it is the most profound.
People have the most profound thought and feel.
These things are like stepping stones to the door of the mind, where the Tao lies.
People don't see it as being significant.
If they do see it as significant, it is as insignificant as a hillside without a door.
When we see the Tao as important, we see it as important as the Tao.
When we see the Tao as important, we see it as significant.
If we see it as insignificant, insignificant, we

The soul of man passes through the five tastes
Of the five tastes and words, the desire and desire, love and love, honour and honour
So the inner joy and sorrow proceed:
Of bitterness the gossamer
And the quietude of your hall which you like
Forever.The wise walk from one mouth to the other
Without having to see where the outcome is
Until they know the limits of the mouth
And can turn the remainder
Deep within your soul
There is the point from which all things emerge
And that point, deep within, makes you everything

The vital breath of Tao is barely perceptible;it is only a vibration, its mechanism is dark.It cannot be perceived by an observer,It cannot be listened to,it is not spoken of by an observer, and yet it is the only sound!The vital breath of Tao's primal state is void and non-action,The motion of the universe arises in it.A deep and silent passion was the beginning of Heaven and Earth.Joyless, non-vigilant, inwardly enlightened, and knowing the ultimate self, its infinite potential, unfathomable and irresoluble,The Tao in an unhewn log is the instrument of the Sage's magic mirror.To use the conventional symbol of the wu-wei is to stop short.Alternative symbols are no help,the textual image is not helpful.Its purpose is to encompass the world, not to preserve what is here, to name what is there, to clarify what is beyond here, and to return to the beginning again.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao flows within you, but cannot be clearly perceived. Yet, it cannot be ignored.
It is the essence of all existence. It has no beginning and it has no end.
It is desireless, and profound, and ever present.
It is invisible, yet it is part of the very fabric of the universe.
It is hidden within you, and thus appears real. It seems to be outer. It is within you, and so true.
The Tao does not go and therefore becomes ever present.
Its unchanging essence is therefore all.
<|endoftext|>
The ancient Way is hardly recognized because it flows from the Tao. In it we observe only a few of its profoundest qualities. Although the numberless issues of life can hardly be enumerated
======================================== SAMPLE 5 ========================================

Tao is the beginning of heaven and earth, the origin of the natural laws and creatures. It is impossible to master it, and without the doctrine it is inaudible. Without knowing its image, it cannot be known; without knowing its essence, it cannot be known. Without acting, it cannot be done.

The Tao is the beginning of Heaven and Earth, but it is not the way to Heaven and Earth. Yet, it is supremely efficacious, and even the rulers of nations and states worship it. Yet, it is inaudible, and therefore it is unknowable. Therefore it is supremely efficacious. It is the universal principle. Its supreme ability is its transcendent perfection. Its transcendent perfection is it superior to anything else in the world.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is hidden and eternal, and man's only way is by it. Only the master knows it; when not-a-leader knows it. When it is not known, it is not the way.
When it is known, he acts upon it; when he does not act, it continues to be different from him.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is the beginning of Heaven and Earth. Heaven and Earth are anchored in it. Hence it is inaudible. The only thing one can do is observe it, And when that is not enough to be cognized, you act on it.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the first of all hidden matters. All things come from it. They can be restrained. It can be observed. It cannot be restrained.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is hidden and everlasting; yet
I see it clearly: it guides me everywhere;
I know it to be unknowable.
Thus it manifests itself; it may be
called the One, just as all beginnings
begin to realize themselves:
Receiving the One, it becomes
visible;
knowing the One, it becomes
intelligible;
doing the One, it becomes
intact;
it is able to accomplish things and gain
knowledge in the world;
yet it is latent.

He who has the ancient Way lives in the present world, the universe.
He who rejects it cannot be considered a dao-abiding person.
He who is a true person in the ancient world has a great virtue,
but whose virtue is not regarded as being dao-abiding.
Who is a true person in the world has a great virtue,
but whose virtue is not regarded as being worldly.
If we compare them we can clearly see that the one is self-assertion of the other,
and the one is better when practising without expectation,
and the other better when practising with expectation.
The best of people are self-effacing,
and the other the most self-effacing;
The best man seeks gain and ability to acquire it,
the other the ability to gain it.
Being successful, the first one abandons the existence of the universe.
Being unsuccessful, he rejects the existence of the world.
When a man has fulfilled his potential, his potential is fulfilled and he is thus able to be a proper minister to others.
When a man has fulfilled his potential, his potential is fulfilled and he is thus able to be a proper ruler of the world.
How such situations can lead to the most important people in the world's lives depends on the depth of understanding and competence.
<|endoftext|>
He who is possessed by the ancient Way never returns to the world.
He who follows the new Way stays in the world.
He who is 'not the Way master,' returns to the world.
The sage knows his (the sage s need for the knowledge) self and his (the sage s ability for the knowledge) self,
He receives the wisdom of the world
He chooses to lack (the wisdom of the world) and so rejects the world.
"When the sage is possessed by the world, the world is possessed by the sage."
The worldly being is identified with the sage
The sage is identified with the world.
The doctrine that is taken as the doctrine by the world is taking possession of the world.
The man who knows and values all that is real within himself rejects the world.
He is identified with the world.
The sage recognises all the ways and means of the world, and accepts them.
When the way of the world is accepted, then the means of the world is also accepted.

If you look out of the window, you will not see the very center of the world. If you observe the world from inside your house, you will not see the very center of the world. The Inner Person who uses the Tao achieves what it intends to accomplish. He does not dwell upon it. He does not dwell on it further. He does not pursue it further. He achieves without giving, not seeking for honour, and working without fuss.
<|endoftext|>
When looking out of your windows, what is the separation of the realm from the world? If you watch the world inside your home, you will never see its innermost essence. In your study inside your house, what is the transcendence of the world? The more you travel, the more it seems to stay in place. The more you do, the more it is forgotten. The better you are at developing your mind, the less you need to know. As you lose yourself, no wonder there is so much hidden!The great master never dwells on the surface, loves the inner essence, avoids action, and achieves the accomplishment of the work without any outcome.
<|endoftext|>
If you look out your window you will see nothing beyond your windows
If you watch the world from within your house
You will never see the way out of your house
This is because the One within the One will alone know how to lead, what is good to do, what is not good to do, and what is best to do

If you have a detached view of the universe, you will never see the Whole. When you witness life's drama in the world you will only observe its outer peripheries. If you compare the Inner Person to the world, you will realize that it is In the innermost of the Inner Person, who has no desire, therefore no desire.
<|endoftext|>
If you could stay outside the realm of affairs, you would remain without view, beyond the realm of affairs. When you study the realm of the Inner being, you will only see that of its outer peripheries. If you turn your eye outward to the world, you will only see that of its Inner being. What the Inner Being possesses is that it does not dwell on what it does; it does not dwell on what it can do; it does not dwell on what it can leave.

Things are made of space and time.
They are watched over and controlled by the Tao.
The Tao is invisible.
It is in every corner of the world.
I see it, and I know it.
I see it and I know where it is hidden.
I look in it, and I know it;
I look out of it, and I know where it is free.
I see it, and I know what I see;

The mind that follows the Tao acts without being acted.

When we understand what we know,
our sky (ta) is clear,
our all-pervading heart is wide
our wide-pockets of depth
our essential vision
our fountain of knowledge
our gateway to all creation
These three things will never
separatwee.
Because they have been raised up to greatness,
they will never sever.
And until the end,
I do not know its name.
I alone am its discoverer
and only through its discoverer
can I know the truly marvelous secret.
My confluence of knowledge
is such that I can see things before they even appear to be visible.
Like this:
It is very dark.
It is very bright.
It is very wide.
It is very deep.
It is very wide.
It is very deep.
It is very deep.
I know these things because they are so clearly seen;
I know them because they are so clearly perceived;
I know them because they are so clearly felt;
I know them because they are so clearly understood.
So now, I have passed through some uncarved block of wood.
And come to this:
I cannot see its angles.
No one can see its sides.
But I know it by its sides.
I know it because I can see the bottom:
By watching the light, I can see the top:
By seeing the water, I can see the deep:
By seeing the deep, I can see the movement:
I know these movements: I know the movement of the ocean;
And the movement of the sea.
I have known how to move and stay still.
I have known the motion of the sky

Cunning men of understanding: they have an account of Heaven and Earth. Those men of discernment can see the Tao: they see the great character of the natures of all things.They can see that all things are born and are formed, but not yet evolved; they can know the origin of the things and their function; they can understand the form of the objects.They can send forth their desires to create, but they do not desire the possession of the things.Therefore, if man goes about to master himself, that is not a conquest of his individuality, though he may use some force to do so.Thus the wise man knows, and has power of knowing, the nature of his being.He uses this to practise the Way, and through the practice of the Way, he becomes able to deal with the world.All of mankind will realize that they are one and become one with one another.Thus the great teacher realizes the Way, and teaches the methods of the Way.Using the methods of the Way, he realizes the great Mystery of the world.

When the wise man is lost in the world, people consider his wisdom impressive. He knows this is all true. Who is out of touch in this world? One who does not know what is the Tao is seen to be great. Those who know Tao but don't practise it become perfect. Those who are masterful, and yet ignorant, lose touch. Those who are not masterful become enlightened. Those who are wise, yet ignorant become aware. Those who are love, but still unknowing, become prominent. Those who understand the Way, but fail to follow Tao, have lost their way of life.

How can you go far when you know hardly at all about it? You are bound to regret your departing-last day, the unoccupied space in which your life will be preserved. Who can treasure the ten-thousand places? Bring out the Tao and you will never travel far; Bring the Tao to the Tao and you will never rest. If you are not at rest, you will neither be Tao-ful nor Tao-deer-ful.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao travels by being unnoticed.Wherever you look it there's nothing it doesn't see.Know what it does, and you become an instrument for it.Be at rest, and you become like a guest.Follow your nature, and there's nothing you'd rather do.The Tao can change what you want, but it doesn't want to change who you are.What's in the Tao is what you will see, and what is in you, and who you are.
<|endoftext|>
Those who know nothing but go on and on
Will not know long.For who travels far with knowing nothing
Is exhausted and weary after his journey.He who knows the Way, finds in himself
The Way to the end, to perfection.Thus, he who is in the Way
Is in the Way, and he who is not in the Way
Does not find the Way, but finds his life in the Way.
<|endoftext|>
Know the Tao, yet be without knowing.Be at rest, yet be strong.Do not practice the Tao, yet be at work.A world-traveler sets the full course.A person who doth good things finds his home.Who knows the Way, yet is neither good nor doth the Way;Is in the Way, and that is the measure.
<|endoftext|>
Who knows how to walk
but remains unsteady?He can return when he wants.Who knows the Tao, but is free of intent?He lives with the Way of nature.Who know the Way, but returns to himself?He is in the Way of nature, but returns to himself.

Those who know that which is gone can keep them in mind.Those who know it not can lead them to it.Those who know the Way can follow it.Those who follow it do not lose

By following the way of Heaven, we may become a guest of the Tao.By following the way of Tao, we may become a guest of heaven.The two are not the same, yet their common source is Tao.From Tao, heaven and earth were born.From heaven, everything that has life, grew up on Earth.From earth, the four quarters all are born.From earth, the four quarters all are born, without distinction.How can heaven and earth treat the four quarters differently from each other?And how can heaven treat the four quarters differently from the four quarters that is earth?For heaven is the way, earth is the way, heaven the way, earth is the way, if you wish to be one with the Way, you must be earth. The Way itself is the Way.
<|endoftext|>
When you practise the Way, one may step out of it into the outer world. When you practise the Tao, one may step out of it into heaven and earth.Both of them are different but their sources are the same. When the two approaches the separation, they neither feel separated, or still in each other, but different yet together like coals. In heaven and earth the four winds blow to nourish the four quarters. If one man is satisfied with the four, and is content with the four,He can call himself the way of heaven and earth. If one is content with the way, he can call himself the way of heaven and earth.Man alone is given the gift of self-identification; there is no single man given the gift of self-identification. Man alone is given the gift of self-identification, and that man can be called by a common name. The common name becomes the name of all men, for there are many names. There are names that are simply such as a friend, a kinsman, a father or a brother. And there are names that are different, as a common coin. There is a name that is greatly important to the human personality.The four quarters may be taken as the image of God; the heavenly throne may be the image of heaven and earth; the four wind powers may be taken as the image of the four quarters of the earth; the four breath powers may be taken as the image of the four quarters of the universe.If you see clearly the universe as God, this may be taken as the basis of your being in the universe.If you see clearly

Governing is abstract, subtle, and general. You should consider it the basis of the world. If you can conceive of it abstractly, your wisdom will be supreme. If you can contemplate it a certain way, it is like the spring sky. If you can control it by your will, it will be something worthy of being named. If you can see it all around you, you can see that it is all within you. If you can endure life with no effort, it is the earth and sky. If you can travel through it, you can be enlightened.

The higher the supremely wise person,
there's nothing he wouldn't do.
And although he's supremely wise,
there's nothing he wouldn't do to see his goal.
And although he's supremely clever,
there's nothing he wouldn't do to know more.
Yet it's said that if you just follow his example,
everything will follow your example.
That's because he follows his own inner wisdom,
through the light of his own inner wisdom.
So even if he doesn't know what the next thing is,
he has enough knowledge of how to live.
That is why he's so very wise.
When he's not agitated,
it's easy to be peaceful and peaceful.
When he's not angry,

When he's not busy,

The highest integrity cannot be acted upon (though it may be idealized),
nor is it in itself
absolute.
Acting on it, you have the presence of mind.
It is without sense, (for it is pure), and without will, (for it is without a will).
It acts without needing reason,
and may be successful (by its own measures).
Because it can be conceived of as a principle,
it is not unreal.
It is not such an accomplishment, but just that which is;
it may be known, and may also be known (by being known).
Because it is a principle of action, you may wish to desire.
Because you cannot control it, you will not wish to do it.

Do not listen to the bad man;
"you alone will save humanity."
Those who speak well of themselves are haram.
Those who act well will see their folly
They will fail:
But a good leader will not care about
what others think,
And so we shall be free from failures.

Better be silent,
than loud and boorish.
Better will you be spoken of than boorish.
Better will you serve your purpose,
than boast and boastful.
Better will you be the character, than be great.
Better will you be the climax,
than the climax.
Better do you than do you do, do you not,
do not do but cause others to fail.
Thus in doing good others fail,
and therefore there is good fortune.

Be silent and know one-hundred.
Don't brag and know yourself.
Be humble, but be like a valley.
Be innocent, but dare show no resistance.
Be complete, but can be no leader.

Be like a valley,
filtering the noise of life out.
Better to be silent than to be boorish.
Better to serve one's purpose than to flaunt one's achievements.
Better to be self-sufficient than to depend on others.
Better to do than to have.
Better to be free than to abide by status quo.

Be as remote as possible, thus leading the Way of heaven.
He who is all-too talkative is boorish;
And he who boasts himself has no merit;
He who is all-too clever has no future;
He who is all-too rich is no Ruler.
Therefore the man of the left side will be the senior of those in the right,
And that of the one who follows with no preference on the left,
Being close to the valley of Tao,
Which is always prepared to receive the Wise One.

Be modest as the valley;
Be like the single breath.

Who knows the world, and doesn't need to be a guest?
Who knows the path of Tao, and does not try to play the fool?
Who knows Heaven and Earth, and does not show off or try to impress?
Who knows good and bad, and is not influenced by them?
If he makes a fool of himself, he will be the best among all.
<|endoftext|>
To know the world is not to enter the cage;
To know the way of the Tao is not to display itself;
To know nature and the laws of nature is not to defy it;
To know Heaven and Earth is to refrain from seeking them;
To know goodness and evil is to refrain from acting against it;
To know God and man is to refrain from acting on behalf of God and man.
To be acting on behalf of God and man is to become the instrument of the Wicked.
That instrument is that which has no will;
And when the will has been disregarded, it will not be able to act.

You may know the whole world through your inner vision, but still walk through life without ever leaving home.
You may know the Tao on your journey, but always walk behind Tao.
You may know God and the Universe on your journey, but always walk behind the Tao.
You may know good and bad on your journey, but never defy good and bad.
Never defy your goodness or your badness.
When you lose your own goodness or badness, you are then ready to fulfill any obligation.

There is no knowledge so slippery and slippery!
There is light so small; It is not understood.
Are you baffled yet earnest?
Are you unmoved yet in motion?
Move and see Heaven;
What is left? The path to perfections.
<|endoftext|>
Maintain your steps;Only, walk in the right direction.
Learn from the darkness,And you will see the light.
Practice intuition,And you will find knowledge.
Move your stepsAnd no other is left behind.
The Tao that is hidden is profound.
The Tao that is given is useful.
The Tao that is out, is confused.
Tao is in the centre.
It makes things manifest.
What is not manifest,Is for practice.

Keep walking,And you can always reach the front.
Only the presence of the Tao is subtle,
Its nature never known,
No one can understand it.
Blend and discover mystery,
The Way of Heaven without front is return of ancestor.
Closing the door, and opening it,
Returning to the origin of the universe,
Can it be Tao,
The Way that is black within, light within,
But unseen, reality without?
It is what is without that brings all knowledge,
And how this is the absolute of Tao:
If hidden, your progress in life will be inexhaustible.
<|endoftext|>
Stop youpital everywhere, and you will reach the front, not because of any innate wisdom, but because of the turbulence of the times, the ignorance of the masses. [The man of the period] who knows Tao is as clever as anyone who has a whole book on a subject, or an encyclopedia, even more insightful than anyone on this planet. As a good student of Tao he is clever in his subject, and just as clever in his inquiries, for he discoursing about it will not ruin one's teaching.

Always walk behind.
The unknown is its quietest image.

But know that it is without conflicts
Or vistas that

Being Tao gives you its potential.Without Tao, you are not able to experience your full potential.As the ultimate perfection comes from within, true enlightenment comes from without.True enlightenment arises from within, and is yet beyond comprehension.Thus, the Sages only know Tao.That is why the Tao is always present in their hearts.

If you wanted to ride your vehicle in the open road, you'd have to go on the left. If you wanted to walk up a rope ladder, you'd have to climb on the right. If you wanted to build a house, you'd have to build it in a tall tower. If you wanted to travel, you'd have to go everywhere. Therefore, the good do not want to be free of thought. If you want to travel, start in front. If you want to climb a tower, start on the left side. If you want to build a house, start on the right side. If you want to make a journey, start on the left side. The Tao-wise men

The Tao alone cannot make matters go wrong.
It is only when the light in the house is extinguished, that
Things begin to fail.
If we know the Tao,
We have no need to know:
We can abide the Tao
When no light is kept on.
Heaven's Way's Way is without desire,
The woman's way is without flaunting,
The Tao that comes is not yet come.
The Tao can be known by knowing it,
But the Tao that cannot be known by knowing is not the Way.
<|endoftext|>
Without being overcome by desire,
there's no resistance in how we perceive the Way.
Knowing the way does not absolve us of being overcome by desire;
we simply know how things are.
On earth, the Way is skillfully mastered by Tao,
inside the body the Way is mastered by mother nature,
outside the body the Way is mastered by Tao,
The Way is master by Tao and Tao is master by nothing.

The Way alone can not lead the human man astray.
If he does not understand the Way,
he cannot see through it.
If the Way has no desire, the human will not be easily entranced.
He who is thoroughly enlightened knows what is happening.
He knows where he is going, and he lets go of the hindrance.
He can go on walking in accordance with what is in front.
He can see the way ahead,
with no fear of returning.
It is not only ignorance but stillness and rest that bring a man to the Way.
He who knows and is not confused
understands and is free from confusion.

There is but one Way, And it has no master. The only wise one
Is without a clue,
As if drawing nimbus of light from the source.
He lives with utter simplicity,
Without such humility as to fear what others see.
He may be thought of as the Tao, But he sees his state as natural,
As if leaving it all.
He loves simplicity, as if he'd be untainted by this Primal Love,
And loathing nothing that goes against it.
Peace as one's own nature, the peace of calm,
With his Master present to back him.
Know what your Master

Those who are great in music and dance have hardly left their spacious rooms. These men were enlightened, deeply penetrated, without need to say anything to anyone.So far they are without trouble, and without need to stay here.Being enlightened they have hardly to set the alarm bells, and as men of wisdom alone know all that is to be known in the world; they can go anywhere and stay for ever.Be wise they go on, the world cannot stop them.

The best fighter will come to you, but they should not walk in front of you. The most beautiful woman will be there. But she won't look at you. The best music makes it loud enough. The best conversation takes place inside your head. These are not necessary to look for, these are luxuries. The best people would stay at home, but the whole world cannot stop them.
<|endoftext|>
If he fights to the last man, he will not be able to contend.The superior woman will never look at him.The finest music will make his heart sing.The clearest speech will make him fast.But the best have no need to go and so can be without troubles.The best man has no need to fight.Therefore he will not become exhausted.Thus he will remain wise.

He who is able to contend to the last man won't fight.The superior woman will never look at him.The beautiful music will make him deaf.The clearest speech will make him anxious.But the man who has no need to go will not end up exhausted.

Knowing how to be free is the only thing that is real.Failing to understand how to be free is the only thing that is inauthentic.Therefore, the sage:Whilst he keeps free from all knowledge, and he keeps his eyes open, yet he keeps his mouth shut;And whilst he walks in quiet order in the open air, yet he has no thought of himself in any place,is found by his simple heart to be perfect.This he does through his wisdom.Therefore,the wise always keeps his heart from knowledge, yet keeps his eye open for knowledge.The more he has free time, the less he knows.Therefore, the sage does not compete with the world, yet he knows all its troubles.What is necessary for the further development of his wisdomIs, to keep his heart from knowledge, yet keep his eyes open for natural sight.Is there any evil that can be made manifest by knowledge?Therefore, in order to find truth, one should first find heart to know;In order to find harmony, one should first find harmony.

To know how to be free from seeing is a means of knowledge.To know how to be free from looking is a means of knowing.Thus the Sage doesn't see and does not see;He stays and doesn't leave;He walks in the open air, and does not see himself;He smiles in the inner world, and does not see himself.He has this "Is there a flaw in me" whereupon he understands everything.This is why he is known as "Clever".Therefore the Sage always knows and has nothing to be conscious of.So he can understand everything.But he doesn't try to gain knowledge in order to show people how he looks like.No matter how many people he meets,He doesn't try to talk about himself,Does not try to make a show of himself.He is always aware of everything he has seen and understands.This is called "Lonely" and is called knowing the Way.

To know how to be free from seeing is a means of knowing;To know how to be free from seeing is a means of knowing.So the man of wisdom never sees that which he does not wish to behold. Grow old, and you will be old. Therefore the sage discards the old man and embraces the man. He does not regard the external face of the world as a thing that has to be known. Who is aware of it, yet does not inquire? Thus he knows. He has reached perfection, and does not look for it. His Tao is inexhaustible, he knows nothing; so he walks the Way. He does not act, he reaches perfection. He does not get things, he receives them. He does not contend, and he is good to his neighbors. He treats everything as its own nature, and is inexhaustible.

If you live long enough to live as though you do not exist, then you do not exist. If you do not see, you do not see anything. Without loss of self-consciousness, you realize the depth of the subtle. Therefore you must know the depth and not the breadth. Just know what is and do not get excited. Keep the path the same, but never bend or be dominated. Keep to the path, then the reality will come and ripen spontaneously.

Heaven and Earth, though ten thousand kinds, are the same.
The Invisible is the Highest, the highest among all visible things.
The invisible reaches out beyond its walls.
Continuously it flows,
All its parts take shape,
Wealthy but unfulfilled,
Wise yet unguarded,
The Gate leading to the Highest,
The Way leading to the Innermost.
These two, though separate, are the same.
Heaven without walls,
Does not retreat;
Earth without walls,
Does not collapse;
Yet both may be held as model to the realm of things.
Heaven, without walls,
Is a portal into the infinite;
Earth, without walls,
Is a door to the eternal.
Both are above the measure;
The Door to the Inner Dimension.
Let Heaven-way form and earth-way contend,
Let virtue yield in its receptiveness,
And let the Great World overcome without any effort.

There are old folk saying: 'There is no beginning to this world, Where Heaven and Earth do not manifest. Why they do not manifest I do not know. The most ancient timeThey were mysteries and mysteries. That which is now known as Infinity. I alone am mystery and mystery. Why am I not knowing what it is I have? (A name that has been lost in the Dark). Thus, I give it the name of Infinity. How like the heavens Are the profundity and mystery of the skyThe profundity of the profundity and mystery floweth from the mystic simplicity of this no name.

Hence the origin of Heaven and Earth, the Limit of time and space. The name of the origin is Heaven and Earth, and the name of the limit is the time and space. Were the way of Heaven and Earth also to have been so limited, what invariable Tao could be?What invariable Tao, what invariable limit of time and space.For they are identical; they do not differ. Therefore, to the wise it is called the "lesser" and the "greater." The same as it is "greater" in it happens that it is "lesser" and "greater." That is why they say "Lesser is more." And "greater is greater." Such are they who tell of the unnamed -- the unnamed, are they not so? Hence they call it the Infinity.

A good ritual is not complete without a door. It is not a complete ritual without action. It is better to leave an opening that may be a door for enemies than to rob an opening that may be used to grant an entrance. [It is] a way (of the Way) of the Tao which has all no need for possessing.
Approach the left. If the left door is left unoccupied, then the group will follow (proof) its leader. Evading it will weaken the group. Avoid the right. To say, "The negative one", or "The negative". The hollow void, which is empty. The four directions, can be seen from it, but it is never seen from it; the Heavens above it, can be seen from it, and from it; the earth below it, can be seen from it, and from it. It can be seen from it, and it can be seen from it; but we are from it, and it is from it; and we are from it, and it is from it; and we are from it, and it is from it. There is something essential to take as one and aim at.
Something that cannot be brought to you
Can be achieved by practicing diligence.
Something that cannot be achieved
Can be done by finding and relying on all else.
There are four patterns which are essential to the Way:
To be centered at home;
To serve in the world as well as at home;
To shine everywhere;
To make appearances.
The Way rests on these four
And it is therefore the Way itself:
It is not given, it is boundless.
<|endoftext|>
Just as the way of man may be brought into being by Tao
Just as Nature is produced through natural causes
So it is through the action of Tao that humanity can be made at home, and in the world by acting with all one's heart.
Of these four things the Tao contains none: being or not being, on or off, visible or invisible, or in order or of itself.
Yet Tao constantly asserts that he who acts on the earth and so upon nature, can be his own return.
And he can be his own return even though he has not had the Tao at all.
The way of men that is to be learned takes no further action on it than it brings about its own production.
If it finds no benefit in its study, it does not linger in its study.
If it finds it to have benefit, it keeps it for itself.

In Tao's home, Tao is a great house.

Tao invites but does not accept.
On Tao's path, the silence of a great house is like the room of a serene guest.
As Tao leads everywhere it is like a spring rain on the edge of a vast plain.
That is what Tao is.

Carve out places for people in four ways.
Draw up the Ten Walls. The Master looks to the door, like an atheist: (The) Way is vast. (She) looks for the Way, to the mirror.
Beside that the wall looks empty, Inside it lurks the endless path of infinite Dao.
If one travels alone, one will encounter a lot of trouble: (He) ends up as a heavy baggage traveler, (He) on the Road of death.
Thus the master's desire to achieve the highest virtue is realized, and he keeps the road, without interfering with its smooth course. The path of the absolute light shines all day and returns home again to the light.

Heaven's world is distinguished, but the earth's world, too, is distinguished; that is why the earth and heaven have such ability, and each man has his own special capacity. As for the nature of man, he is a common mixture of countless capacities, different from others; so his nature differs from other man's, and that is why he can exist in the universe. He has a home that is not his own. When he gets lost in desire for his external life, he is deserted of his home. Having found himself by non-differentiation, he can make himself useful. So he can avoid becoming a burden. If he becomes a burden, he is abandoned by mankind.

That is the way to choose one's strength from the same, yet without losing it, and that is the way of lasting.
The six roots of the universe are called tao
Because they alone are lost, they may be shown to a person, and an appearance of what the world can be understood
Must be watched, but found unblocked.That is the only way to know the universe.
Thus by standing in the center of it, all things under heaven are seen and understood, but the Tao that dwells therein is hidden and unnamable,
Likewise, by the doorway into it, the whole world can be seen and understood, but it alone remains unobscured, and cannot be spoken of
Therefore, the wise look inward and understand the world.
The unwise look outward and observe what is within. They are united by a common origin, and are one with each other
If the Dao is withheld from, then one may see itself, but he sees only what the Tao reveals,
If the Tao is withheld from, then the people see themselves
If one is reluctant to live in the Tao, then the World follows the Tao

The ancient masters always named the way of life
While in silence and in solitude, they were enlightened
What the world can see they can grasp
But the Way that is beyond all vision
Is hidden and unnamable
This is the source of the greatness
And all things around it
Will be able to know the Great
The Way can be named but how it can be known
The Tao can be named but how it can be known
By yourself alone
All things under heaven can be known
All things under heaven can be known through following the Tao
Without speaking of it and without desire
One can live one's nature in the world
It's when the Tao becomes an enemy
That all things become things under heaven

But when he does not find what he wants, he then gives up searching.

When the moods of the climate are followed, vegetation and disorders take place. As soon as the atmosphere is disturbed, weeds and boons are produced. Since there is no clear flow of air in the valley, a growing, hard soil is then formed. When the mind is closed and also confined in its body, disturbances of vegetation and bad happening occur. In the valley, there is vacancy in the mind. If this is not as if there is plenty of clearing nearby, then the vitality is destroyed. I have said:The great Tao is hidden, yet what is within it can be reached.Even when it is absent, there is a useful.All things spring from a substance; the less they are, the more they can manifest.

When the men of the world are in a calm state of mind (Mao Tzu said they should be), there are one hundred things. When you find out that they have one hundred things, you decide that they have no identity. If you can discover that you have no identity, then there is brightness. If you cannot discover brightness, what is it but luminosity? If luminosity cannot be perceived, what is it but brightness? If you think that there is a way, the space can be filled. The space fills up; you can see what is hidden. Without self-discipline, when you step on your left foot, you feel right; if you step on your right foot, you feel left. When the sage sees all things, He knows what has to be done; He doesn't interfere. If he didn't know anything, there would be no need to know.

A sound of high note leaves no tracks;A straight tang loses no pace;A tall chug does not leave a track;A heavy vessel cannot be emptied;A banquet not rejected is preserved.These are the great Laws of Nature:To avoid going out of one's way is the sign of the Way;To be without knowing of the way is the sign of Heaven's virtue.To remain where one is, one will not miss a clue.The wise person does not stay,And so finds the Way; He does not seek,Yet he has the Tao.

Nerve-tight music goes on forever. All directions it brings little resistance. Sound cuts deep. It cannot be stopped. Empty it, and its substance is revealed. Wear it and there will be no traces. Obtain it and it will be unhewn.Hear from it, but hold on. As its doors open there is no end.If you look for it, you see it. If you seek it, you find it. If you do not try to stay, it will not cease.
<|endoftext|>
The musical note will never leave the body. Its rhythmic motion cannot be stopped. The path of the musical note cannot be dictated. It is inexhaustible. Long-winded music cannot be listened to. In its perpetual production, nothing remains. The music of the mind does not leave the heart. In it there is contentment. If it is listened to, it is by no means undesirable. It would not be listened to in the conventional sense. The music of the heart leaves no trace. The heart's heart is the musical music's goal. It can only lead to what the body desires.If you listen, it does not leave the listening room. It can never leave the room.

Serenity is taking few steps. Silent is taking few cognations.
The myriad creatures appear as one. They are agitated and do not wish to be
interpretted.
Next, the Sage, by his subtle wisdom, reveals all the multitudes
as manifestations of his own nature, without stopping,
He is centered upon the subtle essence, without the need for
action.
<|endoftext|>
As wise people are as silent as water,
They cannot be overheard.
As silent as water,
It is hardly possible to hear them.
As still as water,
They are always always still.
As One, they do not fear to be different from
everything else.
As One,
They do not fear to have become one with the others.
As One,
They do not fear to change into something new.
As One,
They do not fear to change back to them, uncarved wood.
For non-doers of this world,
They invite any kind of problems and
harmful creatures.
As they greatly anticipate their companions' return,
They welcome them with blessings.
Although it is barely evident,
They cannot be
unnoticed.
Thus, they are appropriately called by
"outsiders, no strangers to people's
"needs."

As the Worthy is as Still as a Great Dew,
No one can hear his words.
As the Great as a Little Wounds,
The Prince Is calm as Never Change.

Notwithstanding Harmony, Its Natural Motion stays.
The Sage is calm as Ever.

While at home the traveller alone does not meddle; While at home he is free from fear of disaster; While at home he does not see the merit of doing, But he knows and acquires merit for himself. While in prison, he avoids danger, While in prison, he has no fear of being reduced to a bond, And he has not used his tenacity to frighten, But he possesses what he possesses without increasing it; - So he may guard his family by non-interference. Thus, All men who are in home affairs would appear to be foolish, And to the advantage of the sage also.

While taking rest, rest is not touched. While being free from danger, take care to stay out of harm's way. While remaining free from attachment, take care to follow one's inner nature. While being undisturbed, do not rob anyone, Or you will lose yourself. Thus you appear innocent, Wise, yet take no pride. One may live in Infinity as the Sage as in himself: Though he may devote himself wholly to the Universe,He is at home there.

While you may be at home, you have not to be. While you may be at home, you do not have to be. While you may be safe from danger, you do not have to fear to be in danger. The sage who keeps to him home is always in contentment; the sage who is content with his self will keep at his ease when away from home. The sage who enjoys his self and wishes only to act well is never in danger of losing it. For when he is free from worldly worries he is at home with the universe; in choosing not to act well he never affects himself. If he were to take any action that led to any action, he would lose it. That is why the sage wishes to know without presuming to know; to have no self-conceit; to have no desire for possessions; to be one with nothing; to take no active action.

The sages, wishing for the world to be intelligent, who are not concerned with worldly matters, say things about it:
"Everything in the universe is without its own characteristics."

The Sage does not flatter himself with his superiority; he has no desire to attain it. He holds fast to his original nature:
"If there is the separation of the soul from the body, this is the most important characteristic."

Do not boast of your intelligence, but it will not let you be rejected.
What does it say to give no sign of your greatness, until you weep and be distraught?
No, it does not say that to be humble means not to be enlightened; and, it certainly does not say that to be remote from others means not to be distinguished.
If you do not possess enough, you will not know when to let go.

There's a saying in olden days that was very wise in its use: "Know the Way, but do not practice it."The Book that can be written is not the true Way; the Way is neither visible nor audible, so there is no way to see it. Know the emptiness without knowing the shape. Reach the Front but do not see the Back. End the work but do not complete it.
<|endoftext|>
One has (Kuei) one's Gate and yet does not (k'ang) possess the (chih) Way (jen).
The invisible (fa) Way and the hearable (li) Way.
Without (t'ung) the Tao.
The door and the windows both (pu) observe the Way; the Way can (wu) be seen and done (wu) but no one will (tu) see it.
One might say that (fa) one knows the Tao, yet does not master it (tzung); the Tao in the people (li) cannot be (tu) perceived. One has the Way without (pu) dwelling (shan). One is without (hsi) having done (wu).
<|endoftext|>
The way is Tao, and Tao can never be named.
Hidden and obvious, the Tao is hidden and unknown.
But to look at it you will never see its essence.
To live by it you must dwell in the Tao.
If you reside in the Tao, your mind will be simple; your heart will be without desire; and your actions will be of the Tao.
By this you can accomplish great things.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is a mystery and is not (t'ung) like anything in the world.
The Tao is beyond all description, not visible, not audible, not audible.
But to see it, you must have (pu) it.
To live by it, you must have (k'ung) your home (ch'i).
Only by having your home will you live in the Way, and by having your Way you will never be confused.

Know these, and you can keep order without a government;
Know these but not be ruled, and no trouble will arise;
Know these but not have difficulty, and no strain will be upon you;
Know these but not make things to suffer, and so all will be well.
When what is Tao is lost, it is lost for the sake of what is higher Tao,
When what is what is lost is made to suffer, it is lost for the sake of what is what is lost.
<|endoftext|>
The user of the Tao should keep these things from being stressed.Therefore we do not presume to govern the state with a formal process.The forms of being are formed and fill and let to vanish.The habitual patterns are formed and fill and let to expire.The relationship of action to things is formed and fill and let to disappear.The model for being and relation between the persons and things is formed and fill and let to vanish.So with the loss of the Tao the higher qualities are lost.Having lost the Tao, one loses all knowledge of them. The formless form is meant to be given form, and they is made into a king by taking the form of a queen.

Know these things, therefore: avoid concentrating the functions in governing the government and going about the administration of the state with a regular course.Know these things but there be no action-avoid concentrating the functions in governing the government and doing the administration of the state without being reluctant.Know these things but there be no trouble in the administration of the government but go to resolve by going about the administration of the state.Know these things but there be no that from which the administration of the state arises but go to settle it by going about the administration of the state.Know these things but there be no that which suffices as the occasion for which the administration of the state is performed but go to settle it through it.Therefore the Sage is good without doing much-good in doing-good.This is done without efforts and therefore attains the reward of the Tao.

The Way is above, beyond, and to the left. It is the perfect wheel. Yes, it is the wheel that in its appearance and action has left nothing unattended.
In the extreme, it is the vacuum. And when it ceases, there is no darkness. When it becomes clear, it is the first to appear.
When it ceases, nothing can supplant it.
Thus the Tao has no name. It has no birth. It is the One. The One is done by doing nothing. Being done nothing, it can be the path to Truth.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao (Lao) is going, not far, next to the way.In its role it is the perfect (overturned) wheel.It does not realize its full complement until after it is in a state of vacancy.It keeps to the way until its empty state is complete.That is how one can observe all (understandings and) contours without going into the world.One who goes into the world, one is left confused,one who remains confused, one has vanished.One who has departed does not remain.One who does not do anything is content,One who does act is accomplished.One who is not fulfilled, having failed, is blamed.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao (the Way) is to the left of the Way, the largest before the Way.Because the Tao is the smallest it may be thought of as the largest. In Tao's development, something appears, some remain and some become.This development is still happening.So: the Tao exists only in the present. Thus, the Tao can be seen without seeing.It can be known with no knowledge.It can be accomplished but there is nothing left to do.Thus it is that it is capable of being great.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is to the left of the Way (or wu-wei). The Way is perfect in it, before it. The left is loftier than the right.But when it has become the way, what remains? And it is not void.When it is no more, what remains? And it is there.Therefore, it is one with everything. This is how it is able to be Tao.And it is not the Ten Thousand Things.It is the Way (the ultimate truth) which is possible, when there is no desire.It is outstanding but

Having understood the purpose of the Way, one doesn't need to think about the method of the Way.The purpose of the Way isn't to gain people's approval or praise or praise from others; it is simply their natural way to choose to use it.
The way that people use does not reflect the way the Way is used.
The way of the Way stays at the end of the door, leaving you free to look out, feel the wind, hear the rain and smell the flowers.
If you use the Way at the beginning of the Way, you will always lose your way.
If you try to use the Way in order to get approval or praise, you'll be defeated by the people.
When the Way is lost, people will only use it for things to use.

Those who live by Tao only know the self. If you can't see it, it is Tao. If you can't feel it, it is the Way. All these things flow back to the same source: This is called The Self. If you can't see the Self, The Way exists. If you can't feel the Self, The Way will be there. If you can't see what is below the Self, The Way is real. If you can't see what is in front of the Self, The Way is complete.

The Tao, who knows the ends of a breath, may approach the Great Mother.The Grand Mother, who knows the limits of a breath, may relate to the infant from whom she gives birth.When a baby is so born, a mother must take care of him.The Sage does not call himself great. Rather, he is able to take part in the Tao.As he does not seek to be grand, he is able to become the great in turn.

When the great bird started to sing, all before him were quiet. As soon as it started, it had a pause. As soon as it sounded, it had a pause. A pause, for it will return again and again. When the great bird is thus focused, it stays. When great things are quiet, things are like dark shadows. In such a case, there is stillness. When the great bird becomes great, then he reaches the mother. In such a manner, he will give birth to the people. He remains quiet. It is simply because he is not loud, that he can communicate with the Tao.

Great Tao is one that does not stay in place
Know thyself And you will find
All-pervasive Tao is like the leaf in shade.
Shade makes darkness, yet is hidden by the light.
It creates all, yet is unstudied by its creators.
And its greatness is in letting things evolve.
It invites a whole, yet it never obstructs the way.
Know thyself, and you will see
All-pervasive Tao is like the sea,
Distant and still,
But well within reach.
Distant and still makes any perception possible.
Staying there, no human presence intrudes.
All-pervasive Tao is like a clearing-out of the dust.
It lets everything grow and flourish
And gives its strength to all.
The great Tao - it comes from all the world in every direction,
But no one takes a single step forward.
This is its simplicity.
It comes from the commonplace, a corner of the world.
It is how the hundredfold One comes to be.
This is how the intelligent person (Dao) can be without wise endorsement.
Just because all exist in the unity (ch'i), doesn't make them dependent on one another.
All are capable of receiving this endorsement.
It is from the commonplace that the common folk come to know the Tao.
So how the wise understand the ordinary matters.
By their common knowledge
Is there any benefit that can be derived from the experience?
Thus the truly wise are understanding beyond human influence,
Understanding by the example of the ordinary people.
This unity is never disturbed by what comes forth.

A house does not know the light until it is carved out. A lantern never shines until it's lit. So those who have the true Way walk the land and know not the inner world.Those who know the inner world look away from the front. And those who look at the front fail to see the true self. Thus, the wise man never leaves the house, nor does he ever leave the land.

As soon as he has carved a vessel, he must know how to follow the rules. As soon as he knows what he wants, he must get it. As soon as he knows where to stop he must do so. This is just how the Master fulfills his task. There is no doubt he is following the path to the ends. He never flaunts his accomplishments, nor claims credit for them. He follows the path to the end, thus achieving the end.
<|endoftext|>
Just after he has carved, he must know his purpose in making a piece of wood.Just before he smiles, he must know when to stop.Just after he understands what is coming, he must know when to hold back.This is why the Master follows Tao all the way without dwelling,without seeing, without acting.He makes this all happen all by himself.Nothing occurs, but when Tao is nowhere to be found, this is still Tao.He acts without being clever or possessing anything.He sees nothing yet nothing is missing.Thus Tao is existing in him, but nothing is discarding.He acts but nothing is lacking.He is lacking yet he is existing in Tao.Therefore Tao endures all around him;He never loses touch with it.

There is no destination in him.
He does not care for his being,

No matter how enlightened he may be,
he remains with the average person.
And even though he teaches the common man

The man who manages to walk away from his home must return to the valley where he can be quiet and relaxed. The man who manages to wander the world must return to the earth where he can find the simple and satisfying life. To see the world as a space of indifference is to miss the real reality. To know the world as the space of indifference is to miss the essence. To be the well-being of the world is to be right with one's self and to let the world exist in peace.

If a superior person goes away from the abode, I shall also return. The man who governs the world cannot control the utterance of words; So too, the master who seeks the way cannot be enlightened by the myriad colours. The depth of the enlightenment is that which cannot be reduced to words. If you must have words, do them by the Way; this is called the desireless Way. The mastery over the world cannot be exercised by contrivance; This is called the power-less Way. The mastery over the world is attained by it, and, by the selfless way, it is referred to without asserting oneself; This is called "lonely" and "undeserved". Those who know this are capable of wisdom, And can become the foundation of the world.

they are greatly in need of instruction.
Therefore the sage (master person)
plans his whole life to use as little as possible (in study).
This is called 'supramundane un-thought-of.'

A wise person (elder)
Although he may avoid the inner life (inner temptations)
He may be a source of all the virtues (also) in the world.
A good man (child, grandchild)
Though his mind is not enlightened,
His possession is (heaven and earth) his own.
Having learned this he may be enlightened (to what is) great.
He may be enlightened (to what is) insignificant.
To understand this (thus to embrace) the Mystery, is to do with the Tao, - thus, an enlightened one:
To know (thus to rely on) this is to achieve enlightenment (to what is) great.
To know (thus to rely on) this is to become insignificant. (To know that there is it (Tao) and to rely on it is called, non-adhering to it. Thus he may become enlightened and become general).

If a sage is patient, many things will turn out well.
A good driver is fast.
A good house is durable.
A good model is beautiful.
A good speaker is correct.
A good banquet is excellent.
A good wheel is strong.
When a guest attends you, it is respectful.
When you lead, watch out.
When you make everything work, you are in control.

A mind full of fears, it increases one's recklessness.
A mind ever ready for success, it puts into play actions that have no weight.
A mind without knowledge,

Get rid of the body, and you'll get rid of danger.
Get rid of mind, and you'll get rid of desire.
Get rid of taste, and you'll get rid of taste.
Get rid of personal interests, and you'll get rid of attachment.
Get rid of uselessness, and you'll be free of all troubles.
When your desires arise, shut them,
Thus you will live on the bright side.
Get rid of desires, and you'll be freed from all woes.
Desire is the root of every misfortune.
But when you know when to let go of it,
There won't be any trouble in the future.
<|endoftext|>
Let go of desire, and you will have free will.
Free from consciousness, you will have the pure.
When you breathe, do not try to maintain the conditioned life.
When you look, do not try to change the line.
When you live, do not try to do too much.
Be receptive, and the myriad entities will arise.
Be real, and the door to the subtleness of life opens.
Be genuine, and there is peace.
As the sage is real and true, so are all beings.
Thus the adept in himself has no need for external conditions and hence avoids the pitfalls of the world.

Become pure, rid of desire
Empty your desires.
Fill your heart with discernment
Stir the manifold flavors.
Clothe yourself with self-effacement

Do not assume control
Hold to your essence
In surrendering your heart, mind, and spirit
Get where you are, you are.

In order to excel in this world, go all out in earnest, go constantly to the left. To the left, you become quiet, to the right, you become active. Calm, mild, gradual, non-assertive, not talking to anyone, then the heart is whole, clarity, becoming like the ocean. There is no beginning and there is no end. It can be visited all day long. If you find it, you have found it. If you do not see it, then you have missed it. If you have that kind of faith, the reason you can do it is in your faithfulness.

In order to serve the world with activity, set to the left. To the left, be calm and steady. Calm, not overly self-assertive, step by step.
As you become calm and settle in oneness, you can sense all things.

The Great Tao is like the breath in which there are ten thousand things.
It goes like a water-flowing stream.
When the perfect discipline of the Great Tao is not forgotten
one can observe the whole world.
In order to observe the whole world one must observe the inner world.
In order to observe the inner world one must observe the outer world.
But to observe the outer world one must observe the inner world.
If one keeps his eye on the Inner World,
He will miss all others.
If one keeps his eye on the outer World,
He will also miss the Inner World.
Therefore:
Observing the world with solitary actions is as good as observing the world with all things.
Observing the world with all things is as good as observing the world without solitary action.

The great Tao is like a pure stream
It flows all around, but it does not leave.
When the great Tao is forgotten,
one can see the ten thousand things.
When one sees the ten thousand things, one can see the subtle nature.
When one sees the subtle nature, one sees the DAO.
When one sees the DAO, one can realize Tao.
Because Tao is achieved through non-action,
One can realize DAO.
Because DAO is achieved through action,
One can realize the subtle.
Because subtlety is achieved through non-action,
One can realize all.
Because Dao is achieved through non-action,
One can realize the Tao.
Tao, the One, produces non-action,
Produces the One.
Produces the Tao.
Because the Tao is manifested, non-action follows
Because nonaction precedes Tao,

The wise make use of words in their lessons and lessons are not used up in the classroom. When people need to grow up they grow up with the wise
The wise leader guides the people but without making a point. The people are led by the leader but the wise leader guides the people.
The true master values natural grace but teaches with the least formality. Nature is grace so the master doesn't leave it alone. The master never claims what she isn't worthy of being. The master works from what she knows, not from what she asks for.
The master guides the people but doesn't make them conform to her. She guides the people by making them not conform to her.
One who loves harmony has to love Tao, Not to be different from Tao, Like what one would expect from the Tao Master. But because she lives in harmony, she's not obliged to believe everything that people say.
One who loves the Tao doesn't try to see Heaven and Earth. He doesn't want to see them, and in so doing he is not out to harm them.
Because he doesn't see Heaven and Earth, Heaven and Earth don't need him to be their caretakers.
He who loves to be on the Tao path lives in the world without dwelling in the world, but lives in the world with no dwelling in the world.
Followed by the Tao Master:
The Tao is not enough to become wise; The Tao is not enough to be a leader. The Tao is not enough to find the way of life. The Tao can never be forced.
The Tao does not leave, yet one can't make it disappear. One may speak of Tao, but Tao is Tao alone. The Master observes what Tao means; Does not make Tao and not make it the mere background for her observations. The Tao follows. The Tao is free. Without Direction.

In ancient times, the ten great men who advised the wise were master rhetoricians, (numerator and denominators were meant to be voiced.) The master rhetoricians are best at conveying to others the vital essence of the oneness (of heaven and earth), (which is very important), and are also at showing to others the myriad ways that creatures and things can function.The oneness of heaven and earth is a vital essence, yet nobody understands it.Therefore, they use words, but there is no clarity in them; they are concerned with their display, but there

Know the Way without leaving your house.
Know the Tao without knowing it.
Thus, the DAO can reach heaven-and-earth without revealing it to anyone.
Know the Tao without letting others see it.
Thus, the DAO can become the presence of heaven-and-earth without having to let anyone see it.
Know the Way without showing it to anyone.
Thus, the Way can be treasured by all without revealing the Way to anyone.
One who has been endowed with the Way,
can be told of the world.
The Way, as the Way, can be treasured by the world,
without revealing the Way to anyone.
But one who follows the Way constantly finds that what he has followed is possible to use.
The Way is treasured by all who understand it.
To all who understand it, it is of no concern.
Though the DAO is much alike, it can be employed to the advantage of all.
Thus it is said:
Those who knew the Tao could not leave the Tao.
Those who knew the DAO could not leave the Dao.
So the DAO and the Tao can reach heaven-and-earth, but they alone can be known.
Knowing it, they are able to concentrate.
Knowing the Tao, they can know everything.
Knowing everything, they are good at it.
To the Taoer who knows what it is, it is enough to refer to the Tao.
And because he knows the Tao, he doesn't have to use any words.

He who knows the Way should not leave the house
He who understands the Way should not leave the mind.

The Uncarved One is the Light of the Universe.
Therefore, those who understand the Nameless are found in every-thing;
Those who understand the Way can see everything;
Those who see everything are deemed worthy to succeed.
Thus, when one knows the Truth, one does not try to express it;
When one understands the Truth, one does not try to refute it.
That is why it is said:
He who knows the Truth will never leave it.
He who understands the Truth will never leave the Truth.
Therefore, he who has mastered the Truth, the world can follow.

Rigid conceptions are by nature the foundation of foolishness.The heart is shaped by phantasms,The space is shaped by imagina,The world is shaped by ritual.Without purpose, no awareness.Therefore the sage achieves and never fails:Never has hes shortness of breath.Looshest to a target, broadest a doorway,Toughest to a start, hardest to a climax,Wildest of all, truly the greatest and purest of all,To which as yet there is none.That is why it is said:
"He who ever achieved a goal made no fail to achieve one in return."

Though the great square is a sacred vessel,The use of it is a metaphysical occurrence.The soul can be regarded as the matrix of the vessel.The multitudinous images (possibilities) represent the myriad essences of the soul.The primal continuity of this unity is expressed through sensory projections.The soul is always like an infinitely subtle mirrored image.Since all possible projections of the soul follow the same pattern,One's perception of the multitudinous aspects of the soul is conditioned by the manifold aspect of the vessel.The vessel is always mysterious. All known qualities emerge from the manifestations within. If one assumes the role of the vessel's observer,The complexity of this mystical vessel is still kept from view.The mystery of the vessel can only be realized through experience.The Tao always rules the transcendent.
<|endoftext|>
The largest square is something useful, but it is formless.The deepest reaches are a place of mystery, where depth seems to extend everywhere.The deepest reaches of all are instruments for things.As an instrument they must be of primeval origin, filled with Infinity and expressed in all things.It is only by comprehending Infinity that one is able to observe the fullness of Infinity's unfolding.By understanding Infinity, one becomes aware of all things.One becomes aware of Infinity by understanding the ramifications of Infinity.All things have a purpose. If one is aware of all things, one can look beyond the limits of boundaries.To be aware of the many ramifications of Infinity is to be aware of the oneness of everything.Therefore, the sage observes everything, yet knows the limits of consciousness.Through this awareness, he is aware of the ways of everything.He is aware of the oneness of everything, and

If you want to know all the other things you must
cast yourself away from the sky, and you will never know what kind of thing you really are.
When a vessel is cast aside it is necessary to keep the vessel alive.
That means he who knows about the vessel will be able to identify with the vessel; he who knows about life will be able to be in a way an instrument.
One must know the vessel in order to know the life.
Those who do not know the vessel will lose their life and their knowledge.
So the wise man knows all that is happening in the world and keeps the inner life of the earth.
If he does not know that his inner life is all that is happening in the world, he loses his knowledge of the earth.
<|endoftext|>
He who desires to know all under Heaven
Must first retrace his footsteps;
A vessel that he abandoned
Must continue to be a vessel,
And one who still is vessels,
Must still be in the world.
Thus he who knows the world will know the world as he knows himself.
He who does not know the world will lose his life and soul.
Thus the Grand Thinker does not seek after knowledge,
And thus his thoughts emerge.

Knowledge and certainty are without a need to hold,
Knowledge is like faith, which is without certainty;
Faith and certainty are opposites:
Tao is infinite and just,
It takes everything (clumps, grades, things) as an occasion.
We, as nothing but one of infinite existence,
Alone, we observe it:
We must do so,
But we cannot know the sky as it does,
We do not know the world as it does,
We do not know the sky, and the world as it does,
We do not know the sky, and the world as it does,
We do not know the sky, and the world as it does,
We do not know the sky, and the sky, and the world as it does,
We do not know the sky, and the sky, and the world as it does,
And we know the sky, and the world as it does,
Because the Tao is eternal.
Therefore, when without further ado,
Who can attend a course with certainty
Without ever reaching the goal?

To know the Way is to be a spirit: to be a spirit is to know the World. To be a spirit means knowing the World: to know the World means to know the Way. To go a long way is to know little: to know little is to know the Way. Thus is the difference between knowing the Way and not knowing the Way: between knowing that there is Tao and not Tao; between knowing Tao and not knowing Tao.

He who has an enlightened mind is aware of the Cosmic Origin;he who knows the World is aware of the Eternal Laws.He who is aware of the Cosmic Origin is cognized of the Laws,and he who cognizes the Laws,is cognized of the Eternal Laws.Therefore one in danger of dangerannexes the beginning,and one acquires the end.
<|endoftext|>
With an open mind one can know the way to every end. Knowing the way to every end means one is aware of the laws of life. Being aware of the laws of life means one is aware of the Universe.Being aware of the Universe means one is aware of the Laws of Infinity.Hence one who is aware of the laws of life of Tao becomes aware of the laws of life.Being aware of the laws of life means one is aware of the Laws of Infinity.Hence one who is aware of the laws of life of Tao becomes aware of the laws of life.Being aware of the laws of life means one is aware of the laws of Karma.Being aware of the laws of life means one is aware of the laws of Unity.Therefore the one who values one's life is aware of all things.The person who does not value his life is aware only of what is right.Therefore, one who values his life is cognized of all that is,and one cognized of everything is cognized of nothing.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows the way to the end is wise in respecting the world.He who knows the world is wise in respecting the end.Because he knows the end,One may relate the world to heaven.Because he knows the heaven,One may relate the end to things.Therefore the wise endures until they perish,And the foolish, as an end.

The natural Way is free from haste and is able to fulfil the most important tasks without exhausting oneself. He does not try to be seen, and so he is alone; he does not have to stand out, and so he is alone; he is aware of everything in his field and nowhere in the whole world he cannot see; he does not press on hard things and he has nothing left; he does not seize for himself what is left, and so he is able to complete his work; he does not put off anything for the future; he knows everything and remains free from anything to obstruct him.

If you take a long walk in a country where the woods and valleys lie, you will likely find many beautiful things. But these may not be the only kinds of things. From time to time there will be surprises. Wonders are a clue to the hidden depths of everything. Is it not odd if a visitor should be less than full of surprises? As soon as a visitor is aware of these things, he is constantly on the alert to avoid surprises. When the Tao is not known, it is not known to know Tao. If the Tao is known, it is not known to know Tao. Being aware of Tao, it is not aware of Tao. This is the ultimate Tao.
<|endoftext|>
If you go back and forth in the valley ( the place of deep thought), you will find beautiful things. But those that look for them often return again. Things that are found do not begin to exist. Only in this way can you get close to the Tao.
When things arise in life they take on a number of shapes and forms. When they become mature, they reveal themselves as flower petals. In this way they return again and again to the source ( the heart of the universe). They always return to this source (the heart of the universe) even though they have not yet reached their full form. Thus, when you know the nature of the source, you will know the nature of the end.

It is the way of Heaven, that with Tao only the force seems subtle, and the movement seems natural.It is the Tao's light, that the man seeing without the intent of self-expression, his body is of eternal life, a blank to him who sees on impulse, yet one who takes part in this mass of matter to expand and blend together: the empty space between creation and destruction - Eternal Love! it is the strength of Heaven, that it is able to give such a change of state.What others deem as action, the Tao employs also: it produces in the form of action; - in making use of it - we must remember it, give it a name, -and use it in a way that conforms to the results of Tao.Such as with the Eternal Love, a man should cherish it not. He should observe its actions, not distinguish it, not take action.If Heaven fails, it shall not perish; for there is nothing in the world which fails, and nothing in Heaven which fails, without faith in Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The Way (the power of Tao) is immanent in Tao (the Power of Tao).The time and the movement of the heavens (the power of Tao) are dependent on Tao. The Universe (the power of Tao) is real only in relation to the relationship of Tao to the universe.Though there may be different entities and forms in the universe, they are all created in the relationship of Tao to the universe.The universe is infinite but it depends only on Tao.The universe is eternal but it depends only on Tao.What is eternal is Tao.What is real is only Tao.What is eternal, reality only Tao.What is real, reality only reality, Tao renders real.What is real, Tao renders genuine.What is real, Tao transmits.Tao does not exist; therefore its power is real.

One who has the inner clarity will thereby preserve the outer darkness.
How many people have been the leaders of nations, Yet their knowledge is barely known.
How many have been prominent persons of the state, Yet their subjects are not aware of their services.
Thus it is that the great Master said:

but yet I am ignorant of my own ego."
"I can know the ten thousand angles, and know my own head.
But I am blind to my own ego."
"I can recognise the essential, and know the hidden."

Whoever has his true nature is sure to keep his true nature.
These two are integral to one, and so they are not distinct. This unity, which may be stated as the Emptiness, has been known to all under Heaven, and it cannot be touched.
They are only to be remembered:
The person who knoweth himself
Is able to know all things under heaven.
The person who knoweth his neighbours is able to know himself.
The person who knoweth himself is able to know all things.
The person who knoweth all things is able to know himself.

The far away one can see the beginning of the universe.
Not far, but it is the origin of the universe.
Not far, but it is the same as the origin of the universe.
To the far away, but one sees the beginning of the universe;

The whole world Is clear. The Tao is pure. The people do not stray from the Tao. They are all equal under the Tao.
Therefore, The Sage puts away worldly matters, And keeps to Tao. When he is at home, He knows the world's affairs; When he seeks Something else, He knows what to call it.
Even the Tao itself is not something to be acted upon. Yet it can be acted upon. In that manner it may be called an action, or a ritual. It is only after action has been completed that the rite begins.
The rites which follow, though inauspicious, have their source in deep wisdom.

When desire and lust are controlled, you won't get into trouble. When you act in harmony with all things, you will be more than able to maintain harmony. When you are relaxed, you do not need to be afraid of being left behind. Thus, harmony between humans and nature is restored. When man and nature work well together, the natural system works just as well. When nature takes over, the way of man becomes even more prominent. Being more prominent, you work for more people, and with the help of more people, you gradually become more powerful. You will be more prosperous and happier, because of the success of your career. If you work for people, the most important matter will be done in friendship. When friendship is lost, it's lost by default. It's the same with your knowledge, once it's lost, it has a way of becoming universal. It has a cycle which will be recognized as universal, too. Being universal, knowledge is like the spring of life. From the spring of life, growth becomes present. By knowledge, knowledge is valued as an asset. It has a deep relationship to nature, to the water of the root, like an exquisite resource that can be possessed without any grounds. Knowledge is like seeds which can be harvested and used. So, it's the sages who grow and grow until they are truly full, but they also have many days of rest from which they can become used.

Ego and lust lead to danger by being of an inferior order. When those act in unqualified harmony with the whole, they arise to enjoy the services of the Tao, to work harmoniously with everything, and to be at peace with the masses. With vitality and life, they find the Tao in balance. When the Tao

The rule of silence is like a valley of mud and water.
You are free from a future of boundless possibility;
you remain calm and serene.
The root of boundlessness is silence.
Let yourself disappear into the depths of the silence.
Deep is your silence.
You are truly one with the uncarved block.
The uncarved block is a limitless source of peace.
The infinite source of peace is just you.
By being in this you become something you are.
This is in being, and through being you become yourself.
Thus, being in this is doing things,
Being is doing.
Being is using,
Being is acting.
Therefore, the ultimate virtue is to not do anything,
but to do everything and have nothing to be ashamed of.
<|endoftext|>
As the Master enters the serene state,
it becomes tranquil as a valley.
It is a state of stillness,
a state of non-action.
There is nothing which it cannot control.
It cannot work, cannot coax,
can never act.
Because it is tranquil, it is equally quiet.
It is as it was before the emergence of Tao.
That is why it is called serene.
<|endoftext|>
The way is to lead solitary, then return alone, then return with close restraint,
so you learn not to be different from people or things,
to be one with the nature of all things.
To know what is true is the basis of intelligence.
To know how to change is the basis of the Perfect Power.
Therefore, everything can be fulfilled in accordance with Nature.
All can be resolved by acting to fulfill the purpose.
Everything can be fulfilled by having the most desireless act.

Some people are able to benefit others by simply being present; others benefit others by being at home; others benefit others by being a part of the world.One can learn the other's vital parts without having to walk around the country; one can learn the other's vital parts without having to stop by the door; one can learn the other's vital parts without having to be invited to see the world from the inside; one can learn the other's vital parts without being dulled by being immersed in Inner Nature.Hence, the sage does not distinguish himself to the world; he knows all the good things of life so that he can bring all things to life by means of Inner Nature.
<|endoftext|>
One who is centered as one is enlightened; one who is one with the One is also enlightened; and one who is at home but does not live in the world is also enlightened. Thus, being at home is better than living abroad, but being one with the world is better than living among the many. Whoever can learn to develop the whole world will enjoy prosperity, and whoever can learn to make every nation live peacefully is worthy to succeed.

One who is eternally centered in the world
Is enlightened by being a part of it
One who is eternally centered in the world
Is enlightened by being at home
One who is eternally centered in the world
Is enlightened by being a part of the great mystery
Hence, the sage never separates himself from all knowledge
Accomplishes, not by action alone;
Is acclaimed by action and is successful

Some people can help others by being present; others can help others by being at home. Some people can help others by being inside. Others can help others by being part of the world.A person who can help others by being at home will benefit less from helping others at the center; A person who can help others by being inside will benefit more from helping others in the world.Therefore, if you become free of selfish interests, you will benefit less from helping others on the center, or from helping others in the world, or from helping them all in the world.

He is in the center, but he does not wander far from it.
Such is the essence of humility.
It means that the way is the ground.
When you step back you understand the height.
It is not to be confused.
It is true humility
which makes the man who goes on.
Looked for, it may be beautiful, but it does not elude your eye.
It is true truth which makes the man who goes on.

The way of Tao is an endless path, like a river, flowing without end. All things come and go but you cannot escape the fact that you will always be there. Being close to heaven, a person becomes aware of the state of the universe. Doing things, people become enlightened. By putting the work to the side, one can see how things evolve. The master becomes detached from all matters; for he knows how things work and yet acts with supreme calm.

Tao is non-separable;
It functions without interruption;
Tao allows the universe
To change in ways that are continuous,
While still giving rise to everlasting peace.
Being near to Tao, you see the universe's life;
Being far from Tao, you sense its corruption.
What is manifested depends on what is within;
When we lose touch with Tao, what we see
Must be regarded as the reflection of Tao.

The Tao is undivided like the stream.

The fruit can be taken away.
Everyone can fish and enjoy their wealth.
Not everyone can grab the fruit and do this.
He who possesses the Tao can be the sinner of everyone.
Who has not the Tao can be a sinner of no one.

The Way is ever unchanging.
It takes no credit for itself and rolls with great freedom.
What is seen can leave you with no shame.
What is heard can leave you with no fear.
What is left behind cannot touch you.
Be as it is.
Those who follow the Tao are freed of sin.
Those who practice non-Tao are free from all their evils.
Not believing in anything is what brings you happiness.
Being free of expectation is what makes you realize how things happen.
In doing this one is free of desire.

It is Tao which lets everything come and go.
It is Tao which gives rise to life and rest for all creatures.

Yet so to do is to confide what is nameless in the unknown,
And to want knowledge of the deeps of the world.

One who tries to be master of affairs
Will become aware of the nature of things
As they emerge in life.

The less he will know
The more he becomes aware of the world in a dao manner.
By not knowing the world in a dao manner
One knows it according to one's nature.
