The softest and lightest of all creatures as a lump of dust swoose past the solid, hard and firm to pass by one as a valley floods. Between these there are no cracks, no opening, no separation. Where are my theories about them? The soft and lightest [of all] things [his] going to? They will endure, I know, as eterna. But it is these things [the soft and the lightest] that in [a law] made them long to come [to]. That which has no vacancy [in their bones], they never see decay. This is the left saying. The softest and lightest of all things go where the hard and firm go. The soft and lightest going (but) for the sake of the firm and hard, Where are their doctrines? Inhumane laws. These are the doctrines of the uncarved wood.

The soft and pliant are more like dust, than the firm and strong. Therefore the Sage is able to hold onto his teaching. How do I know this? By the soft and pliant.
The softest and gentlest [of all] things Are weak and frail before they are strong and strong. If you consider the parts together You will perceive their wholeness. If you regard the parts separately You will perceive their partlessness. Therefore the parts, the parts together Are reckoned small. That which is meager in its own nature Is esteemed [as] slight in comparison with what is large. This is the insight of the understanding [of nature].
<|endoftext|>
The soft and pliant come first. The softest and pliant come first.
The weak and pliant are before the strong and strong.
In the possession of such depth The soul is kept in light.
The method of the Sage Is to hold on to silence.
And this is all this:
<|endoftext|>
The softest and supple are strongest of all;
The softest and supple are the strongest of all.
The supple are the frailest of all,
And the frail are the weakest of all.
These being the case,
Therefore the Sage holds them as their essence.
A person of low intelligence will take things into his (the Sage's) own hand;
However, to its utter rejection, the thing in itself
always persists;
Thus, it is said:

A little bit of shrewd dealing is all you need in the world. The thing that seems robust may be cut up.The thing that seems soft may be split. The thing that seems faker may be turned around. The thing that seems durable may crack. And the thing that seems solid may be torn.As a person who does not have a thing within the soul of the world is worthy of respect and praise,You have to abide in the world without contending. In order to honor your true nature, you must not contrive to perfect your worldly ego.All the worldly, you can do nothing to fulfill.Do your lot to the world without contending.Be tolerant to other people. You will not fight to be among them.

To take a little from the world is to receive benefit. The white, the pliable, the yielding, and all things solid and pliant; are I able to grasp them.To take a little from the world, and not to use them: Having had no substance,I can obtain them.To take no action upon them, and there is benefit, and never to resort to violence. The intelligent man never acts with cunning: That is the world's advantage. He who has no place to distinguish himself from, is worthy of respect from all.For one who knows his place, knows his condition; he who knows his place, knows his condition, he who knows his condition, knows his condition, he who knows his condition, knows his place. The wise man, notwithstanding his actions, does not contend. He is tolerant to all, as one with the Tao.

But if the Sage is very yielding, the sages will gradually become exhausted. If you have a high tolerance, the potential energy will eventually run out. If you have no tolerance, the potential energy will eventually be exhausted. Being bare-headed will only lead to exhaustion. Being simple is likely to lead to exhaustion. Being traditional is likely to lead to exhaustion. A kingly person is a self-sufficient being, and not dependent on anyone else.

A good wind is kind to those who are governed by it. The Sage rules by the rule of the body. He is not influenced by words and does not try to make himself understood by others. He may look beautiful but is not sincere. His actions are not auspicious. He may have a good reputation, but is not famous. He may be loved by all for nothing, but does not spare his beloved. If only to show kindness to another - that is to throw away one's own true self and become the servant of something else.

The simple life is spoiled by the profane.
Who does not love his fellow-creatures is unharmed by any harm.
Who does not take delight in himself has no need of the world.
Love appears without choice;
It is a rule of conduct not to act.

The weakest is like the strongest.

The softest is like the hardest

The softest and most wonderful [is like]
the most shabby and worthless.
It is because [the shabby and worthless] are so
that they will sometimes gain entrance
to the thickest and most firm
and will receive it.
Since they receive it,
they suffer no reproach.
Therefore, the (text) talks
of "benefit in seeking nothing"
-Few in the world
can understand this.

The softest thing in the world is as slippery as ice.
The sharpest thing in the world is like an adamant bone.
The purest thing in the world is like water.
Those who follow the soft and humble are like the rough rock.
The sharpest thing in the world is like a hard vessel.
It is because one does not know it that he can gain much.
The way of the ancients
is to delight in nothingness.
To embrace the limitless in everything.
To have no aims.
Thus only, one may obtain benefit.

The softest, most pliable, inanimate thing in the world, is as ice.
The toughest, most insubstantial, inanimate thing in the world, is as wood.
These two will gain access to each other, depending on their sameness, if they do not know what to do.
When one finds that this sameness is like a rock (so firm), this insubstantial (such hard) and this piece of wood (so watery),
then one may say that one can take advantage of them.
This is how one may benefit, without doing anything.
The Way of ancient times is to occupy oneself in nothingness. To be selfless, that is the Way.

The following is what happens when action is absent of action and emptiness is prominent: the great equality of man and things arises. The greatest benefits of Tao manifest themselves.Hence, the great Tao is truly universal.
The dao is like water in that it works and flows without restriction.
The source of change is inexhaustible energy.
And if you have no will, then no creativity, then no dao.
The white silk that seems to be gold is actually a patchwork of dirt and dust.
The truly great Tao originates in the tiny particles of dust and mud. The words that make up a well-known book may not really exist.
Even though there are many things around us, we alone are blind and indifferent. It is because we don't notice, that we can be confused by what is around us.
The Tao is like water in that it is never stagnant or boring.
It has no name, and is fluid in flow. It is able to produce, but can create nothing. It is like Tao, which brings peace and health to everyone.
The Tao, the true Way, is like life: It is truly limitless and is everywhere.
The Tao, the true Way, is like what we use: It is constant and abundant.
It causes but has no provision; it makes but has no use. It is the Principle of Unity, and is even known as "the Great Dao."
That is why even the least, the insignificant, and the imperceptible all understand the Tao.
Noticing, yet not seeing the essential, this is the essence of the Tao.
That is why, Tao is universal.
The Tao Way is the ultimate measure.
Through giving and receiving, it is the most profound
for the body and the mind.
The ultimate measure leads to the infinite.
The constant involves a way-endless.
It brings about abundance, but is not possessive.
It is of the greatest value to the person who uses it
in order to experience the limitless,
non-conformity,
non-interest.
In the depth of his being,
the depth of his humanity
you can only see the simplicity and completeness
of the Way.
Only when this is lost,
is he blinded by the ugliness of the world.
The Tao Way, it is quite simple.
It is infinite in terms of space and time, but

Spit freely, they call themselves a white lump;
When quietude

Therefore the sage (or people)
Dwell in the unity of the male and female:
But one must recognize the female
In the unity of the male:
This is the one who benefits.
When all flourish in the unity of the male and female
They do not see their own joys, yet they are tranquil and gentle.
By using nothing to desire,
the enlightened man thus accomplishes everything.

The highest form of female never strikes.
Lacks clarity, it can be called a lump.
The lower the clarity, the more restless it is.
The white and the black live in the presence of one another
Whilst knowing that they have no life

The words of the wise never stop.
Words without action have no goal.
Words without aim have no purpose.

The skillful may be carried up a tree-bush, but he cannot be carried high. The skillful lead the people astray by failing to pursue the one, and so they win the one. The ones who follow the Dao yield to the Dao and are not abandoned by the Dao.Therefore the truly wise lead the people in the Way, without the application of force, skill or cunning, but without placing any faith in their ability to do so.

Alertness is not a skill. It is a rare occurrence that nature gives as an example of what is possible. The difficulty is: it is not in any way contrary to nature. It can be compared to anything. It is the opposites. Both actions and reactions of Nature: these are both good and bad. These are considered as having a form. One can only describe them.It is when some natural conditions cannot be described: that are used as a model. When there is no choice it can happen to act:The same is the case for nature's rules. We may say: these rules are compared with an analogy:They describe Nature's Way, but can not be described in words.Indeed, one should understand their meaning. It is possible to differ greatly: but at the same time: here is what is best:The Tao in the universe: Is everywhere in the constant state of the common course, Which is constantly keeping itself in balance.

There is something like a secret hidden in Nature, Which Nature has, but cannot yet see. It is called subtle, mysterious, mysterious. Behold, it seems to be hidden, but it can never be seen. The Mystery is here, yet I do not know where it came from, It dwells here and brings forth life, but it does not act. The essence of the Tao is hidden, but not forgotten. It is the way out of ignorance. It is the Tao in no man's mind. Who can understand it can have the truth.

Something that can only be approximated by water cannot be compared to the hidden, intangible Power of Tao. It is not something that can be easily grasped, but something that has a form that cannot be easily grasped. All things carry off what is carried away, while the Tao uses the Force that carries away. Tao is a great house, as Tao is a great house without walls and windows, spacious, and spacious with a great channel and a great door.Hence, the Tao is superior to all practices, but only as they are, without boundary, without regulations. So, to get rid of rituals and to trust Tao is the only way, to stop the ego formation, the practice of Tao is actually that.

Something that can only be described as a part of the world seems to lack a general similarity with the original Nature. It is called the mysterious (Silent).Like a secret abyss (Abandoned), it cannot be illuminated.Because there is a whole world within it, a big place, the Tao is inside the big place. You cannot get a hold of Tao inside a small room, or you will miss it.The Tao is hidden within the daily life, as a hidden reality.Being hidden, one can not see Tao, hence, it is the Tao of the great few.The Tao can not be spoken of.And only in words, so without words, without words the Tao is obtained.Without order or regulations, the vast Tao will become small, the small Tao will begin to act, the small Tao will start to exist. Thus, Tao is the Tao of no-thought,the Tao that can be experienced, it can not be experienced with words.

If heaven and earth would wish to ridicule their subjects,They would no doubt start afresh laughing at each other. Therefore the sage and the truly-heavenan do not laugh at one another;Their jests are as serious as an attack. If heaven and earth ever want to laugh,They'd just have to stop laughing. The sage never laughs at anyone; He laughs only at what he sees and hears. The wise never laughs at anyone; He laughs only at what he finds and hears.

After heaven and earth were perfected, no force would triumph over them. All creatures that venture to act against this supreme (san) authority have no place in the world. Therefore the Sage abides by restraint in all things, and so abides with no-action.On his part, the creature likewise, if it thinks its task is not accomplished, it will then shut itself in.A worthy action does not last long. That's why the Sage always has food for thought. He does not dwell for long in a thought,He dwells for a clear thought. He dwells for the good.He dwells for the return.

When all things are united into one in the state of creation, How absurd then! Some people laugh at the lowly; and some people ridicule the strong. If the people in the world are so hasty in coming to a conclusion, That next thing they will be retorting angrily! Therefore the good man does not take his stand on it, And so takes no stand. He keeps his food in a good bowl, And therefore sustains his body. The clever man does not dwell in the meaning of things. He keeps his mind on what is obvious. He dwells in what he sees; He dwells in what he feels. The sage just does what he has to do, and so comes out with no regrets. He is always well supplied with food and drink. Therefore the sage is always doing what he should be doing, And only after having lost what he has. He does not interfere with what others do. He seeks no argument.

Speaking in words is the shabby talk of an inferior scholar. Staying silent is the natural way for man. Without words, it would be easy to see the innermost self. A man's words could not gain his trust. Only by taking action, his words can be praised as a great success. The Sage does not talk but acts. It is his Tao that he works by. He does not crave fame. His words are that he works well.

To talk is like water dripping down a stream.
Water has strength to move, but it does not need to be braced.
In the end it does not create flaws or tangles.
It is subtle, and it does not compare with anything.
As water, yes, but without flaws or tangles.
And yet, it can be improved by inaction.
If there were no striving in the body,
Can you not strengthen your body?
Be without vain thoughts, and do not dwell on things.
After you have become an ordinary person,
You can call yourself a sage.
The middle path is spoken of as "simple."
How strange!
These words are like straw,
And they all break.
The words are like brushes for a teacher,
But no one uses them.
Sages are built by keeping themselves dull and empty,
And looking outward to see the mystery inside.
After perfect enlightenment
Can you call yourself a fool?
Before enlightenment, I would call myself an ordinary person.
Without lacking for name,
I would never make a fool of myself.
(I am) not seeking reputation or honor.
To the contrary,
My meditation is characterized by simplicity.
The beginning of a great undertaking,
The beginning of a great business
The most important words are unstudied.
When done correctly, words will not sound like a fool,
When done not correctly, words will not sound like a fool.
Let there be no foolishness;
Therefore, let there be no ridicule.
Yet, in the midst of my actions, I would sometimes change.
Then, for the love of the Tao, I would smile a little.

It makes all things complete, All things begin to flow, And it leaves nothing undone. The Tao is plain, But it is perfect. It leads without losing time; The sage can never be wasted; Everything follows its own course. The Sage takes no pride, And becomes the model for others. He is consistent, and doesn't flaunt, But is always impeccable.

Tao is flawless in its purity, And its manifestations are of infinite grandeur, Great Tao permeates the whole universe, Without needing anything to begin, But transcends the material world.Hence, nothing surpasses the Tao; Like a sparkling stream flowing through nothingness.
To the extreme, the beginning of the Tao is beyond understanding, But it may be described as profound, All things come into being. From the eternal, everything comes into existence; Therefore Tao is non-differentiable.It is able to act without any desire.
Great humanity is blossom without roots, In what goes on without end, The Virtue takes its course, And has no desire to be hard.
Tao and humanity are manifest both to us and to the world, But by no means can they be compared. In the main they differ: Tao is gentle in meeting roughness; Humanity is generous in helping the needy; Tao is smooth in reaching the ends; Humanity is shaped in a way that it never strikes root.
The Way is always clear, And in the end it is always clear. It is as light as a springtime rainstorm; It is the perennial model, And models that follow are always available.
The Wise Person's wisdom is profound, But the universe cannot comprehend. Tao is subtle, nebulous, Resembling a mother. One who carries the Tao in her arms Follows all things by instinct and relies on her own strength. Tao saves everything, The wise person does nothing and makes everything. But the most powerful person never becomes active, So she embodies all that happens.

Those of the world, those of the world, shall find something that can never be talked about. The lowest thing on earth dares to claim its strength,And the best thing on earth dares to claim its softness. Both these proceed from the same origin. One approaches anything with the intention of not needing it,And comes to the conclusion that no experience can overcome it.If you don't see what you have to see,You do not see that everything comes to a conclusion. The first approach is to empty yourself of all thought,The second approach is to let yourself be emptied of all thought,And finally, the third is to accept whatever comes along. If you accept the non-being of the universe,You can see everything. If you do not deny anything,You see clearly. But you must not lose your perspective on experience. In choosing what to listen to, you must listen to what is already in existence. In choosing what to act upon,You must act upon what is already in existence. This is called a second way of life. That's why all the Saints, living according to the Tao,Have nothing to gain, and have a lot to gain.If they do not want to lose the Tao,They do not see clearly.<|endoftext|>
Most people in the world have an idea about what to think of the shape of things, how they should move. A lowly person would scoff at it, but they cannot be sure that the very things they think are shaped at all. The solid, firm, firmest substance in the world dares to call itself impossible to overcome. How much the more so! It has no limitations whatsoever. Although it can't move, it can't be stopped either. The most rigid subject resists much, but cannot be stopped either. When the ground resists much, it can be torn away. But if a person is not quite certain that he understands, he leaves this to the experts. He resorts to words like "self-justifying", "self-justifying" and "justifying". If he refuses to claim all, he can see that the common man has not found the answer, the common man has only to accept that this is the way things are. This is the way the way of the sage! So the thick as well as the thin, smooth and rough, however far apart in contour; which one is it that is most valuable? He who doesn't know has no

To shun doing is to not lose ability. So the state that considers that they will not keep the world always delights in being weaker than the world,In this way the world never is inferior to the state.Wherein the weak can come in, the weak will abide there. To the wise there is no difference, no ability, yet he will stand by them and keep them firm. The doctrine that cannot be uttered and the wisdom that has no teaching,Nor was there a word in the world at the time,Will one day thereby become the study of the people. Therefore the saint lives by non-doing, and does not teach,And does not practise. These things will disappear and, being at rest, they arise.Nay it is through the world's not doing,That the Saint lives in peace and lives without dwelling.Where the people dwell, there is harmony.

If you do not lead the people by taking action, your actions will not be beneficial. The great nation is ever in its utmost readiness for action in the world. Where the people fear and stand in opposition to one another, the great nation has just the measure for completing the work of creation. But where the people oppose and stand in opposition to one another, the great nation has no corner on which to place them. Therefore, in seeking strength without being strong, it is always one who is without virtue. But the Great Name leaves nothing undone; yet he does not demonstrate this; he will of himself gain nothing by being aware of this. The teacher who dares to make promises does not achieve his purpose in his teacher; he makes a promise without bringing to fruition his purpose. But a man who makes no other measures in the world is remembered in the world. Therefore, it is said, "If you do not mean to carry on war, the nation will never incur a war, if you mean to be gentle, the nation will never turn away from you; if you mean to be patient, the nation will never take you for its enemy; if you mean to do what is right, you will never cause a nation to be maimed, so that in a few short years the country will have no longer any vacancies".Therefore, I do not like to talk and may therefore only advise:Being in one's own nature, the actions of the sage are calm and direct;learning from oneself without the aid of words,is a good rule for people in

Water abides in nothingness. It is the root from which everything arises. In-between heaven and earth there is water. Its power produces all creatures, yet its non-being is like nothingness. The valley of the river in the deep valleys of all places is of water. It is in the valley of the river that the most useful things are found, and the valley of the river that the least useful things are produced. In the valley of the river no one is found for whose benefit it could be of use. That is why it is called the "rudimentary river." This river, being the root from which all things arise, is termed the first cause of being. Being the root from which all things arise, it is called the final cause of their non-existence. This is because being the root from which all things arise, it is the means through which they act for their own being. Thus this is called the "rudimentary river." This river is the root for which all things are made, but it is the root which is their last cause. Therefore it is called the first cause of being; that is why it is called the "rudimentary." By the word "this" (the river) we can understand that it proceeds in space; this it knows to be the fruit of its operation; that is how we can understand that it is of no account. The Saint abides by the very action of non-action, and makes no pretence to what is beyond experience.

Water is in its place, and the base of the earth. Its power causes the fruit of the earth and the fruit of the plants. The valley of the river, the source of all fertility.Water thus causes the root of the earth, and the root of the plant. This being so, it is called the Principle in nature.

Water abides without shape in the unchanging, the hidden. It is at the root of all existence and yet has no attributes; with the power to become, it is at the root of all. The valley of the deep cannot be called the center of the world, yet its river is the vital center of the world. So water is the principle by which all things come into being, but it is the principle that is their only nature, having its self-realization as well as non-being. Nature is so profound it is hard to make the slightest distinction.
How far it has spread! How vast its ravine!
Its way is dark and hard to find.
How good it is! How untouchable!
While stealthily it does its work,
So unnoticed and untouchable!
Rely on it with diligence,
And you will not fall.
Rescue the needy, preserve the poor;
Let the weak and the foolish dwell;
Each in its own place.
Have tolerance and kindness,
And you will never offend

How vast and ravishing its course!
How perfect is its whiteness!
What is it that makes the white so soft and thin?
From the very first the sky was nothing,
It never gave birth,
And never will.
To the left and to the right
The valleys are separated by no less than
five terraces,
Ranges from nameless black to
solitary whiteness,
Listless and unfettered,
To search for the center one must go in vain.
Where, then, is the center?
In the following:
Be to strangers of the world gentle,
Calm, not rude,
Accepting of their material and
human nature.
Refrain from ill-will,
Extending the embrace of your neighbors,
By a non-profane manner of speech
and without an importuning word.
With the same propriety as the family,
Pleasant but not disrespectful,
Knowing the uses of the name
To learn the usefulness of silence,
Treating others as a part of oneself,
Pursuing the will of your own nature,
Heavily appreciated but not despised.

One works out his own flaws.
A word that is spoken does not last.
One does not style oneself splendid;
One dares not be too splendid;
One does not boast about his skills;
One does not justify himself in the world.
One knows the importance of not doing something that might happen;
And if such things do happen, he does not affirm it himself.
One understands that those things which happen are often because of the way he is;
And that he is different from the masses who build a house and act as the owner.
Therefore one can be doing nothing, yet having no more reasons to do nothing.
One may think that he has 'present' power, yet he is in fact powerless;
One may think he has a claim on the world, yet he is in fact just a guest;
One may think that he is being subtle and clever, yet in fact he has not the same intuition as the others.
Such things are temporary results of the common ground of fear.
One who tries to be clever, by comparison, is fooling himself to death.

As we walk lightly and lightly,
We move on all fours,

Yet we may describe it.

Be careful what you wish for, because you cannot keep a good wish. Hold tight to this: you are like a fallow log. Just be very lightly waddled.Softly walk lightly.Hence, you are found like the weak, like the depth.Hence, you are found like the obscure, like the hidden, like the nature. You are found like the Tao;You are found like the world. So, governing without faith, the government shall endure for ever.

Focusing on only a modest degree of straightness, it is easy to give rise to smoothness. Focusing on only a moderate degree of straightness, it is easy to straighten back. Softness gives rise to stiffness. Serenity gives rise to darkness. Merit gives rise to what is not known. The universe gives rise to no-thing. So the great ruler has a rule that he follows.

What is easier is to know what is weak, but what is strong is to be aware of what is unfathomable. Therefore the Sage manifests softness, but takes firmness to be his true nature. Therefore the things of the world take the form of Tao, but he takes the forms of its image. Therefore, by not revealing Tao, the world respects it as Tao.Thus the Sage so adheres to no-action, that he achieves Tao. By no-action, he achieves Tao.Thus the Sage adheres to no-definition, that he achieves Tao.

When simplicity is replaced with diligence one finds that what is hard is softened. What is soft is replaced with what is hard.Through having no-definition, the world accepts one.Through having no-definition, the world accepts one.Through having no-definition, the world accepts one.Through having no-definition, the world takes the form of Tao.Thus, Tao stays with no-definition, is ready for it all. Therefore the world reveres Tao.Thus, Tao has never left it.Thus, Tao remains the example for all things.

If you are careful in staying without indulgence,The surprise will return. For the "Lao Tze says: If you seek enlightenment without ambitions,What will you find?"And if you are careful in remaining without indulgence,You will stumble upon realities. Therefore the Way says:If you prefer not to seek it,You will succeed in getting it."But if you wish to keep it,You will succeed in losing it."And if you do not know it,You will lose it.""The world will act with alarm as if they are startled at seeing another"And in their fear,That is a measure of its real value."For only when things know as TaoAre so know as "non-Tao"The Tao "I never abandoned" becomes its model.

The most supple is unstoppable,The lightest of all the men is soft to the touch,The greatest of all the men is hollow-minded,To the ability of the least is he who believes in his own strength; To that capacity is he fitted to contend. He who asserts himself as above menIs therefore cast aside by them. They boast of their power, but they are in no way capable of justifying their power. They proclaim their merit, but they are not capable of justifying their merit. They boast of their ability, but they justify no one but themselves. Therefore, the wise give themselves over to action; The Tao teh never fails in its work.

The weakest among you will blunt without beginning;the whitest of you will be soft to touch;the toughest will not be strong enough to stand;the weak of you will not be able to stand the ground. Therefore the sage does what he wills, and yet he is not responsible for his actions. He is undefiled and does not sanction what he does. Thus he does what he does; and he does it without purpose. He takes action, yet he does not aim at anything but its desired results. That is why the sage never blames his action. He does not try to cause them to be his own doing. This is why all men are forced to praise him, and praise him because they know that he does not regard himself as the substitute. For that reason, his works are ever new, and for the most part inadequate, yet he alone achieves his goal.

When it comes to the Tao, what is weak will yield to, or get no show for. What is hearty will not get enough to show its strength. What is soft will not be strong, or even show its strength, in the presence of the Tao. When it comes to doctrine, the weak will be strong, and the obstinate will be stubborn. The Tao does not act for anyone else but the One, therefore it can be said to fail. Only because of the fact that it never acts for anyone else, can the being of nothing, be said to succeed.

When there is no choice, what is it like?
In the realm of Tao, the most pure is elusive, so clear is its

It is so white that even the eye cannot be seen.
It flows like rivers and streams, crossing valleys.
Through its endlessness I can observe the light of its light.
Tao is mysterious and expansive, ever present, like a door.
I can only think of simple words,
Yet still I cannot do much
Beyond the gate to every deep mystery!

If there is a source that can be regarded as Tao, it is on the level of the invisible; everything is invisible, yet Tao exists everywhere.
If there is an art that can be regarded as Tao, it is on the level of the real. Everything is real, yet it remains invisible. If it could be identified with Tao, it would be the realm of obscurity, not visible. If it could be identified with Tao, it would be the realm of emptiness, not real. Now, in the realm of existence the great Tao is a great name (renhui) - true name, not attested by name. In its use we cannot judge its character, for the character is an assessment (ch'an). So the name we value is like the value we give to the word (text) (ch'an). The value we give the word is like the value we give to the action (wei). These two are complementary; one is always good, and the other always bad.
In Tao, no-action is the Way, and no-action is the Way. It is the light of enlightenment, the Way of heaven. The light that leads to nirvana is not the Way. The way that leads to nirvana is not the way. To know the light is to be aware of the Way.
Therefore the Sage is perfect (yü) by his own ordinary virtue (hu), and he is perfect by no-ordinary virtue (yü). He is perfect by knowing no light (hsü), and he is perfect by being aware of his light (hsü). The presence of virtue is the quality of the way (k'ang). The absence of virtue is the quality of the way. The positive is the quality of the light (pi). The negative is the quality of the way (k'ang). It is only those who know the light (pi) can attain the true (yü) Way. Those who do not know the true way cannot attain the way (k'ang). The Way comes from the light (pi) - and the light is the Way. The reverse is the reason why the light (pi) and the way (k'ang) are in harmony.
Therefore the sage is the mother of all beings. She who is the mother of all beings takes care of herself,
And is therefore at one with the Tao (pu).
Therefore, the Sages (yü) without knowledge (shih) deem

The source of heaven, and earth and man's progenitor, are one substance and identical, but different in kind. That substance may be examined as a whole - so I use the ordinary word - it is called profound (mai). The space which has been filled up with it, is called smooth, so that is named the heaven. The substance which is there is the earth; and the space between them, that is called the man. This is the essence of the man, the deep, and the obscurity (pu yu) of this substance.
<|endoftext|>
The universal substance is one in form and one in function; the functions of the one are different from one to another. The realm in which it exists is called deep. The being of the deep is one with the being of the realm; there are different functions of the one that differ from the other, so the deep is said to be man. The configuration of the man is that he contains that of the deep, for it is said that he is in the extreme. This extreme is the universe.

The infinite reaches up to the depth of space; and the depth of space to the depth of the infinite.
The unmanifest nature is called full. The undefined nature is said to be divided; the half is called dim; the total nature is called light.
The unmanifest nature is said to be under heaven; the manifest nature is said to be in the formless.

Concerns and hopes and fears merge in the realm of the invisible.
Indeed there is no distinction or distinction.
In the presence of this mystery, no distinction is possible.
It is indeed like the way the water, as though without any water, flows into the vessels of men.
Therefore the wise man abides by what he feels is right;
by not using words.
That is what he teaches.

Like what it could be called the serene, the quiet, the still,
Something like its silent void;
The universe of chaos!
It contains none, has no ?;
It is like the empty space,

Like the ephemeral is not-self,
Whose recognition and recognition
Make sure that it is identified.

It flows where there is nothing to come;
It is something that attracts what is not that
That is there and without such.

It transforms into being without possessing of itself.

It becomes body without possessing of itself.

Tao is a great thing, but it is not great. Therefore it does not assert itself.
It is weak in its understanding, but it is great in its organization. It is not forced to act, but it is great in its yields. It can work, but it cannot accomplish. It is already doing what it wants to do, and it has no wish to force anything.
It is compassionate, but it is not offensively compassionate. It does not want to show its favors, but is not apt to brag. It is firm, but it is not easily cracked. It is unyielding, but it is not likely to become flexible. Tao is like a jar that is slowly but surely filling itself.

The image of the Tao that can be drawn is not the Tao.
The self defined word is not the self.

The gateway to all knowledge is not that of the ego.
The great light of all the ways in the universe is not that of the ego.
The greatest wonder of the universe is not the self.
The desire that has been bound to the ego is the root of all sorrow.

Those who know the supreme truth in others do not guard their followers with arrogance. Those who guard their followers with arrogance are only themselves arrogant. If I guard what is done well, only what is done well will be trusted to, if I guard what is done lightly, only what is entrusted lightly will be trusted to. Desire is the basis of everything else.Wealthiness is the primal carrier of everything else.Wealth and wealth are inherently vicious, they are inherently ignominious. But loving yourself through humility and faith is the beginning of the recognition of virtue.True virtue is in what is natural, and is yet complete. That is why, with the doctrine of THOU, the True Thing is embodied, like all wonders, not as an object.

Hence all good comes from desire; And all evil from misanthropy.Hence the way of life is a relationBetween good and evil.Hence the ego is the primal ground of the universe.Through it we can see and understand the essentials of reality. Thus the thing may be shown as a model,Yet it can be recognised as a universal truth. So the thing cannot be defined,And yet its essence is universal.

Desire never lets things go completely. He comes from the point of view of his own existence.Therefore, the author of men, in the same way, comes from the point of view of the earth.Thus, the earth provides the realization of man, and the center of earth provides the realization of the human. The universe is the eternal parent;
Its virtue shines in the least way.
It is like the eternal river, a spring for all the Earth.
In it lies the unknown.
Through it does the Dao emerge.
The Dao has no sequence.
It always assists in fulfillment.
It may be meritorious,
It may be bad,
It may be able to be inadequate.
It is content to fall short.
It is a model for the male and the female.
It is the parent of the myriad creatures.
Through it all creatures arise.
Through it all existence subsists.
The Tao is the hidden essence,
The hidden essence is the infinite simplicity.
It flows in all directions,
It nourishes the great children,
It becomes a model for the male and the female.
It is the valley of the parental arm,
It bears the nourishing elements of creation.
The Tao is one and the same as everything else,
It is the source of the universe and the world.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the eternal Life,
Its Virtue is the eternal Spirit.
It lies at the root of the Heaven.
In it, there are no bounds.
It is invisible, therefore it may be seen.
It exists everywhere,
It pervades the Earth.
It has the Image of everything.
It is the Dao.
It is the natural mother of all.
Thus it functions without needing any arguments.
Therefore it is a fine example for all men.
It may be esteemed as the model for all things.
It may be entrusted as the mother to all.
Thus it becomes the greatest female.
It becomes the most illustrious of the male characteristics.
It may be the mother of all things,
It is the Valley of the Eternal Mother.

Teh is most incomprehensible -Yet it can bring people to their utmost exhaustion. It walks quietly and cautiously, says the least, And yet it makes the world go bump in the park. The easiest way to understand WUWEI - Though it is plain and full of holes. If you look for the extra, you will only see snowflakes. The Dao of the universe doesn't lecture; You can't apply it in the home. The Tao of the universe is as plain as a valley; It isn't open or polished, so there is nothing that isn't welcome.

The one who has reached the point of Tao
Lets be humbled and humble again.
It seems like an ordinary ordinary thing.
It seems to go from a simple home into a room full of baggage,
A little intelligence, to fill an expansive place.
Yet something inside it seems completely different.
It seems like it's always here.
Like nothing else.
You see the truth.
In order to be enlightened
You have to know how to practice the Tao.
This is how it works.
It's the easiest way to be enlightened.
Do what you know the Tao to do, And the world will give you no trouble.

Tao (law of the universe) is a single undifferentiated form;
All beings follow it in one way and go on their own as they will,
Yet it is subtle and mysterious:
It avoids superficiality, and the measure of things has nothing to do with it.
How can a form move in a thing when it hasn't touched anything,
What an awareness of simplicity is in a thought.
Tao does not force anything through it,
It is the ocean that protects the world,
It never interferes in what people do,
It is a teacher that does nothing more than clear things up and make them comprehensible.
Before we could talk,
We had to be out there,
And without the Tao we would never have gotten started.
<|endoftext|>
The path of Tao does not blend with the Way; the Way blends with the path; and the blending becomes invisible. And the invisible is the universal law.Tao goes on blindly. It moves with reluctance. Its essence is hidden; and it resides in mysteries of nothingness. So elusive

The DAO has all the power but it can act like a thin piece of rope. The DAO can roam all around like a river, without stopping at a fixed point. There is nothing that it can't do. I know the reasons why the DAO is so useful. As a helper, the DAO doesn't do itself any favors. As a teacher, it teaches people without going too far. Its methods are not that difficult to follow.
<|endoftext|>
The Way gives all existence its power; but does not seek to control. Its activity is slow, yet never ceases.
The world is it's support, but it is invisible. It moves through the five directions, then the left, and finally right. It shows its power with its own energy, it is not aware of its progress, but is able to keep moving. It gives everything from the world the appearance of existence, but when its work is done, it withdraws the results. The Way is constantly at work, but it cannot be identified. The world is unable to understand the Way. The Way can not be given as a goal. The world cannot realize the Way. It is only through non-action, that the Dao can be done.
<|endoftext|>
The DAO is the whole of existence. But because it has no goal, it can give its purpose to all existence. This cannot be determined, because existence is without an end.If it cannot give, it can help.If it does not help, it can act in self-sacrifice.But because the DAO is invisible to all, it is impossible to know where it comes from or where it goes. Therefore, I can impart my wisdom: I know it exists, but never touch it.I know its potential and give it all it needs. I never interfere with this ability, therefore the workings of the DAO cannot be understood. The world cannot see the DAO, because its knowledge is never clear. Therefore I know its existence, yet that is my only knowledge.

Appropriate is to desire what cannot be avoided. Failing to give is to be deficient. Not loving is to be imperfect. Being inadequate is to be deficient; not loving is to be superior. If you are inadequate then you will not have merit. If you do not love, then you will not have merit. If you are not qualified, then no one will be able to submit to you.

Whilst attending to the affairs of the body, Why should I consider what it can do best and yet avoid its functions? Should I prefer beauty over chasteness? Should I desire purity over extravagance? The worldly does not know what it is to shine, and nothing is able to give them clear perception. Therefore the sage is able to rule through integrity and then through non-contraction. He is able to assist by guidance and then he knows not to interfere with anyone.

Should one have a truly good house, and take care of it as best as possible, the following will probably occur to you: "The first thing I do is to regard it as an ornament. I wish to behave in a modest manner." I am ignorant of what there is within; therefore I lack the appearance of a master. I desire beauty; this is denied to me. I desire peace and quiet; this is not recognized to be so. "I desire to be superior to people; this is denied to me." Knowing when to step back and to allow things to take their course, the wise person endures without feeling troubled.

Have no desires to be preferred, Then there is no disgrace.

The Great Form is great,
For what contains it cannot be under-filled.
When it is inflated, it is soft,
When it is broken, it is pliable,
When it is exhausted, it is renewed.
Can it be exhausted and replenished?
No! It is the DAO.
So understanding the DAO, one follows WUWEI.
Through the DAO, one can help one become whole.
Through the DAO, one can help one become virtuous.
Through the DAO, one can help one become a leader.
Through the DAO, one can benefit the world.
Beyond the DAO, one has no place to go.

When it is not filled it is soft; when it is not hollowed out it is pliable; when it is not exhausted it is renewed;
It is the same in itself; it is Tao.

The great Light follows the Way that is not illuminated. The smallness that is invisible. Thus it is that by holding on to what is that can be likened to having the Tao. By holding on to what is not that can be likened to having the Tao. To the one being the "thing" and "thing to the Tao" One is identified. To the thing and "thing to the Tao" One is identified. To the action and "thing" one is identified. But to the thing and "thing to the Tao" There is no designation. There is no naming. It is said that there is something deep within that is unfathomable and hidden.
<|endoftext|>
The greatest names are not namesThe smallest are not small; The infinite of a single infinity produces the capacity for the universe. There is an unlimited capacity for the universe. Thus the one becomes manifest by means of the other: there is a power manifest as a lack of power; there is a deficit manifest as a power; the latter is preserved by a power. The more the power is lost, the more is the deficit manifest. (1)But if the totality is kept in darkness,There is a desire within:For what is fulfilled and what is not fulfilledAre an example to follow. The following is on the Way.From the Way it is possible to observe. From observing, one can describe. From describing, one can predict. From predicting, it is possible to define. From defining, there is truth. From the truth, there is knowledge.Achieve that by words and no analysis;Bind yourself to what is and give up self-interest;Identify the causes of life and things. Therefore the sage considers a person to be his steward (2).For the steward is the basis of all things:Caring for the steward gives rise to caring for all things:There are certain things that are a steward needs, and there are things that don't need a steward.Without a constant steward, there would be no true steward. There is this formula:One from the way follows the path,The way follows the path,And the way following the path is great. There is the formula:"The Tao is great, but words are insufficient:"There are things that need words, and there are things that don't need words."Just because a substance is small is no reason not to believe in its substantiality.

What happens in the moment takes place. It is the same for all. Things can grow, and many problems can be solved; though there may be many ways to look at it, what's happening is nothing to be confused about.
Therefore, I am undecided: rather indifferent: therefore the way to me
Is as the one in which all things coalesce and grow together.
The Way is subtle, it flows through what is. Things can be categorized but there is nothing abstract to be categorized; then there is comprehension, which is intellectual.
The complexity of knowledge is to this understanding too, however, that the desire for real clarity must be opposed.
In traveling all the way, the words can be as good as the vision.
Advice will never be enough; a place can be filled. Things will age and grow. That is how we can observe what is happening. How is it that I can travel all the way but realize nothing is there yet?
This is the way.

What is of great tenacity can absorb whatever it touches.
What is of great deep-seated penetration can engulf the more trivial parts of things.
Being solid without substance is the sure ground of everything.
So, when solid the question "where do I begin?" will appear.
One must accept that deep-seated penetration, and understand that "where do I begin" is one's nature.
Understanding what is deep within, one can understand life and its basic evolution.
To understand life and its basic evolution is true love and spiritual awareness.
But because too much knowledge is not enough,
it is best to know the easy things, and be open-minded.
Wherein is the beginning of knowledge?

The one who understands the Way is free of duality and therefore provides a model for all living things. For a simpleminded person, it can seem as though the Way is their entire lives.Hence, when people have lived their entire lives without ever focusing on any point of view, they are confused. For such people, simplicity is an unavoidable condition, like breathing. It is from the simplicity of the Way that we can learn to make use of others. When people know that they have an inner self, and can be their own master, but lack ideas, they are free of jealousy and discontent. They are able to understand and maintain the simplicity of the Way, because they don't try to be anything other than what they are.The Way allows them to become people. When people know their inner self, they are also able to be able to understand their Inner Self. When the Inner Self shines through, they are therefore able to understand what is happening in the world. As a result, they are able to view what is happening in the world through the Inner Self, and to grasp what is happening in the world from the Inner Self. All concepts are provisional and so remain unaware of themselves. They are in agreement with the Primordial Way and the beginning of what comes next. Because they know the Uncarved Block, they are able to live in the Uncarved Block. When they understand the Uncarved Block, they also understand the point at which all things began.Because they know the Uncarved Block, they also understand what is happening in the world. If we do not

Tao - the unchangeable Way of heaven's subtle nature -can never fail of manifestation.
It is indeed the most subtle, mysterious Being, that the sight of which is impossible to grasp.
Emptied of desire, it comes into the world as the yielding vessel.
Extending its reach, it is secure, and impenetrable.
So the truly superior person is naturally restrained in speaking.
To speak of 'true' is to be virtuosos.
To speak of 'true' is to speak of a false manifestation.
When speaking of what is true is to be using the verbal means of a great pretender.
To speak of what is true is to be acting virtuously.
To speak of 'true' is to be acting virtuously.
Commoners know the difference between these two.
But when talking of the ways of things, or of the creation, they have no occasion to distinguish between them.
Only when they come to act virtuously should they be called 'clever'.
Talking of the ways of things is to be acting virtuously.
But when talking of the ways of things is to be acting virtuously.
Because when nothing in the universe is able to be fixed, nothing can be changed.
I desire only things which can be dissolved; and when things are done, I desire to render them whole.
Thus the Tao is such that in the end all things, having been made as it were of Tao, can be transformed into nothing more.

He who rejects something,
Is it not so much the substantial in substance that he has no need to hold on to it?
He who contains something,
Does not yet wish to possess it,
It being in him so natural, that he claims no right to possess it.
He who is determined,
Is not yet determined to pursue his course,
Though he know that he will succeed,
Because of his being determined to succeed.
He who acts with his will,
Is not yet willing to yield.
As we have indicated, he who is unconfident and does not succeed can thus be known as more active than others.

He who abandons the one thing, loses the other. He who puts an end to the one thing, loses the other. He who lays hold of the one thing, loses the other. They who are perfectly solid are able to hold on to the pure, and they who are perfectly firm are able to be uprooted. But there is nothing without whose preservation it is perfect. He who has overcome this, will not renounce the other. And the result will be to have a supply of stamina and endurance.

The most impressive virtue is the result of perseverance of willpower. The most impressive virtue is the fruit of the profundity of the will. The most illustrious personality is a response of the material, not of the superior.

Tao is neither great nor small. You should not think that it is great or small. That which is great and small is equally tenable. Therefore,
Where there is nonbeing there is substance,
And where there is substance there is nonbeing,
That is why in each case there is a method for obtaining it.Therefore, being substanceless, the One is good at movement. Being void of substance, the One is good at action. Being without substance, the One is good at giving. Being without action, the One is good at giving. Being good at giving, there is no room for anyone to say no.Therefore, practicing the One's teaching does not require words.

The Tao has no perfect form. It is without form. The Tao is the mother of all things. Where there is nothing, it is the source of all creation. Where there is substance, it is the source of all motion. Therefore the wise guide by doing without words, through action without expectation.

The Tao is nameless. It is empty. It is without shape or form.It is free from self and hostile to everything around it.Where there is nothing, it is the source of all living things.Where there is a soul, it is the mother of all life.Where there is nothing, it is the mother of all hidden things. These are the mysteries of the Tao.Only through its Mystery can one have real knowledge.Hence it is said,We are to rely on what we hear but not on what we know.We are to rely on what is in words but not on what is in ourselves. Thus,Practice the spirit of the Tao, but not that which is present in words.Practice the spirit of Tao, but not that which is present in action.Act based on nothing, and you will realize what you are looking for.

The Tao, like the sky, is nothing, without form or name; it is nothing without a boundary; and it has nothing. There it is, without boundary or limit. There it is! there it is! Therefore, man at first seeks his Will to describe in words the action of the Tao.

Thirty spokes become one wheel? Lessers are used for tools and things of the world. Sages of the world are small. That is why one should be cautious not to steal what others have.
The ultimate measure was made from the earth.Yet being a substance it becomes thread, reaching beyond the limits.Without needing to work, one can make the most of a smaller tool. The image of the universe has been subtly fashioned, so that it can be learned from knowledge of the image.
"Though thou art few in heart, thou hast insight to the whole world.""Thus the greatest men shall be,"Eminent ones will govern.Being eminent, it is not knowing.
Truly an epistle is an image made of the earth, But as the earth has become an image, it is become a thread; Therefore the only way to learn is to let the epistle alone; But that there is no less of a teacher,Then no one knows.
Thirty spokes make one wheel, Thin is it from which it may be twisted; For the use of the world: A multitude of implements cannot yield It passes though it does not obstruct. That is why wise men prefer modesty, But the world prefer arrogance.
Thirty spokes make a wheel, So the wheel needs a great deal of support. The use of the world is great, And a great deal of implements are required. Just because the world has no use for implements,Therefore, It gives the greatest teachers the space.
It is the shape of the cosmos that makes one a traveler,
Yet a traveler knows how it is.
Though there are no molds on this world,
Knowing how it is shaped can guide us to reach the unformed on the other side
Though there are many ways a wheel can be turned,
It should be approached with care, with no intent to twist the wheel.
Thirty spokes can make a wheel; the wheel must have a wheel
Once you know the shape of the world,
you will know what to do with the unformed
Where are few guides, and you have insight
In the words of Tao: "Though there are many spokes to a wheel,
The wheel cannot have a wheel without the wheel."
The ways of the world are shaped as wheels,
And the wheel is shaped as though it were a newborn child.
Know that the newborn child is nothing in the world,
And therefore be wary of acting contrary to nature.

The valley that is stillness is called the 'rabbit', 'sweet' or 'calm' valley. In the human being, there is the formlessness. In the human being, there is activity. In the human being, there is action. That is why the teaching is formless and actionless; and, those who can understand the way, in action there is no end.

This is the doctrine of the Theistine Divinity: The deepest hidden desire leads only to cheating. The plainest honesty leads only to being empty. The sweetest music leads only to sound deafness. The best leaders take the role of no one in the whole world. This is the order of the Tao. That the highest virtue may be left untouched, For to use it, one needs no instruction, And it may be used without disorder, For by disordered disorder, It may have been lost.
<|endoftext|>
Those with supreme virtue prefer that virtue which does not enjoy glory and glory which does not delight in the glory that is taken.
They thereby avoid (easing) the edge of their ability.
The virtuous are impartial toward other men, and are then compelled to seek virtue (knowledge).
Others are like dogs, eager to pounce.
While these two are alike in their perversion, the world by its nature rolls away.
The men of great virtue take nothing from the world, and yet their virtue is its own purpose.
The wise detachment from it - they are always happy.
The group of the world does not value the wise detachment, and thereby it is happy.
The world that rolls away takes joy in it. The wise detachment is great because the depth of it is inexhaustible.
It is to the subtle from within that the Tao is most complete. To the unspecialized the Tao comes first. To the seer it may come before all that is. The Tao is eternal. It is like the sun: never changes and always existing.
<|endoftext|>
The highest virtue has no desire of its own; is content with no reward; and indulges in the substance of its need. It is merely excrescence, and delight, for a selfish person.
The greatest morality has no desire of its own; is content with nothing; is attached to it only for pleasure.
The superior man takes no interest in what is just; seems contented only with what is glorious

We say to him who acts with action: "To act with action means to have self-control." He who acts without self-control: "To act with self-control means to have rectitude."
In these four: "Self-control," "Rectitude," "There is nothing that would be against our happiness."" -There is nothing that would be against our happiness."" -There is nothing that would be against our happiness."" - There is nothing that would be against our stupidity."" --Thus a Sage is subtle in his teaching and he teaches a man without words.
He puts nothing in his mouth,
but in what he teaches,
it will last long.

To bend the tongue is to have control over the spirit;
to bend the knuckle is to have self-control;
to hold to hold firmly is to keep [vanish] in the place of the Tao.
These are not to be praised or praised for -
They do what is good.
No way.
Therefore, the great sages have spoken simply,
How useful it is to be without words!
The truly great people do not talk at all;
how greatly is this!
<|endoftext|>
The Master does not comment on her actions.
The teacher does not give a lecture.
The student does not follow questions and answers.
The sage does not claim authority.
They are in harmony.

The greatest lives by not talking about what they do;
the master by talking little.
The sage lives by nothing.
Thus, the master and sage are born with nothing;
they accomplish everything for themselves.

Do not talk, talk well,
Yet it lasts
And for how long will you not have the book;
We do not praise the work yet it stays our tale.

If you act with restraint,
You're bound to be successful.
If you allow yourself to be overwhelmed,
You're bound to be lost.

Buddhism teaches men to trust themselves and be spontaneous, a common man to trust himself and be practical, a leader to be intellectual, and a lowly person to be low in the hierarchy. B.H.Heaven naturally produces everything, men naturally produce men, but rarely merit value by their ability. People's lives are controlled by ambition. The Sage - simply being.
<|endoftext|>
The Way of men leads them to be naturally aware of themselves, to have confidence in their ability, to behave of their own accord, and to be willing to submit to their own fate.Everything in the world depends on them, and they are uniquely shaped by Nature. They are calm, tranquil and balanced, as if they are in their own room, focused on their task and enjoying themselves without fuss.
The knowledge that Tao gives us of the differences between man and Nature flows from our profound appreciation of the natural unity that the universe has displayed over the ages, of the natural balance that nature imposes, of the natural sanctity that Nature can command, of the natural integrity that Nature seeks, of the natural love that Nature can supply, of the natural justice that Nature pays respect, and of the natural saving of Nature.
<|endoftext|>
The followers of the Way
Love themselves and not rely on others;
Desire to lead themselves but not to hold authority;
Want to make quick decisions but not to act impulsively;
Do something, but not to force it;
Do what they ask but don't force it on them;
Carry out their expectations, but don't interfere with them.
Therefore, the Sage
Howles with a mysterious laughter,
truly speechless.
<|endoftext|>
The virtue of the TAO is to be without self-interest.
The virtue of wisdom is to seek of oneself.
The virtue of character is to be unbiased.
The virtue of justice is to act spontaneously.
The virtue of humility is to accept the Spirit of the universe as one's reality.
The virtue of security is to be open and able to respond to all as a guest.
The virtue of stillness is to be open and able to respond to all as an active and active part of life.
Therefore, the Taoist will never succeed.
They consider themselves clever and clevering; They consider themselves polite and polite; They consider themselves intelligent and

The finest tao provides a guide for what is inadequate, hence no one talks about it.The Tao is uncarved; it cannot be carved, cut out, twisted, shaped. It cannot be pared down, reduced, reduced again, expanded, inflated again. It is one with chaos and separation.Like the square, it cannot be divided, but is a ruler with many poles. Since the beginning of time, it has produced men who appear moderate; some seem unassuming; others are strong; others lazy; others muddled; others clumsy; others redundant, redundant. The Sage achieves results with no words, without art.The greatest success is that it is done by silence. The greatest wisdom is to act in silence, therefore the most profound wisdom is in deeds and not words.

The best way of thinking
Not to share ideas
Has the world rejected them
Everyone hears about the great to
Beside the great there's just the little
The things too small
To get lost in them
Is what is said to be great
Yet from ancient times
It is not the great that can rule
That is what the great name
Is
And that is all that is good in the world
Silent still and oh, silent!
From long ago
It is filled with people who are fit to rule
This fits with what the world calls great
No more words
Better than to just stand still
Better than to keep to the Tao
Better than to teach and listen
Better than to say what one does
And so they embrace silence
Still, silent, perfect,
Silent, without words,
Silent, just to be quiet
And no one can rule them

Thus the Way is an unfathomable valley (Wu).
To define is not the way.
It is unfathomable.
It seems to be the ultimate end, the beginning,
The root of heaven and earth.
It has no name.
No one can see its depths.
It cannot be defined, grasped, bent,
yet is held in place by all things as supreme.
It is for this reason that it appears to be unimportant;
that is why it is praised.

Without hallelujah music, if the people could be amused,
Everyone would win the approval of Heaven-heaven.
Musicians seem to be the quiet group of saints.
Having nothing to boast of, how could the world praise them?
So quietly they are absent of all talk and flattery,
no word is spoken and no flattery is given.
How can one talk about oneself like that?
They hardly talk about themselves,
so how can anyone profit?
The universe without art appears so full that it isn't believable.
Musicians appear unreal and non-existent.
But so do kings and princes.
Yet all are apparent.
They appear not to exist, but reality.
That's why they are called sharia.
The quiet sharia is most useful.
For non-art we have these.
Who is no art?

Without music your people would laugh; And if you would make them like infants,You must make them laugh loud and loudly. You should never sing out of place; If you must make your words loud,Make them sound light and weak.Music makes noise and matters contain a lot of thingsBut the pure is not for embellishing.Music makes a lot of noiseAnd a lot of things are scattered. If you are empty of all matters you have nothing to begin with;So you must take things as they are.No further talk, and the people will love and govern you.

In music there is space;
Music makes the people go.
We can even say that silence is an accompaniment to music.
It would seem that music may resemble infants in how quickly it moves from sound into things.
Without intent the silent is nameless.
It is soundless, without words.
It is meaningless.
It seems to not exist.
Yet silence seems to be true;
There is a lot of dust there.
How little space there is.
How much dust there is.
Music can be very effective,
It seems.
There are other kinds of music.
Music can take on many different forms.
Music can go with matter and spirit.
Music can be in the background.

Those leaders who assert themselves are always beaten, Those leaders who fail to lead are always blamed.

The greatest instructors use only silent inquiry The easiest leaders use only passive compliance Those who lead deliberately must use them Those who fail to lead are called 'profoundly' and 'impossible' Those who win are 'really' and 'the best' Those who know the Tao are called 'bode' Those who know only the Master are 'harness' This says: "It is that being under-knowledge is the greatest secret." "And it is that knowing only the Master is known as 'simple knowledge.' And 'having the Tao' is called 'outstanding.' Only the intelligent understand this."

The highest wisdom is to probe diligently.
Wise men are sparing with words.
The leaders of lesser men lack even the shadow of a rebuttal.
What is all this about?
It's all about nothing, to be obvious!
<|endoftext|>
Excellent sayings are hidden,
Always hidden,
And the best leaders are in silence.
So the wise are always behind,
So the clever are always ahead.
Always still, always understanding,
Always wise.
Always one who acts for benefit,
Always one who acts for the land,
Always one who knows this Tao,
Always one who knows you,
Always one who can do it.
Those who know Tao may be called clever,
But also
genuine, virtuous, and determined.
They know Tao is not complicated.
It is this that makes them great.

This is how all nature works:

the more powerful he will be.
- the most empty,
the stronger the one becomes.
- the slowest,
the more quick.
Those who accumulate and accumulate do not remain free.
Those who leave do not leave without leaving behind.
Therefore, the Sage:
Receives the ungraspable

Works in the open void

In the absence of form, nothing is hidden and nothing is hidden.
Within every being there are Yin and Yang.
Tao within every being is Yin,
yet without its power it is opposite.
The Power within the Being cannot be divided.
It is neither attainable nor can be relinquished.
Therefore it offers not its own substance.
It offers its own manifestations, yet it is not unimportant.
Therefore, when it teaches the multitude it talks of nothing.
It rejects no thought, but is nameless.
It takes no action, yet possesses great power.
Its actions are not known by the multitude of things.
To the multitude of things it is nameless and unknown.
This is the fruit of the emptiness of the Nameless.
<|endoftext|>
The eternal emptiness and the unyielding power of the Way,
reveal the essence of the universe,
of all things, both animate and inanimate.
The subtle. All images, substances, and situations.
The Form. Form and life.
The subtleties. What is, what remains,
Who-can-I-invent-for?
Into the realm of chaos, escape within.
The Tao is forever Nameless, and may be divided and defined,
but never named.
It can be defined, and may be named,
but never named.
This is the ultimate and only Nameless.

Not having substance, nothingness is there to be seen.

Those who praise the Truth Will not fail to profit (even if they fail to give the credit for this), How they who praise the Self Will see it profit (even if they fail to give the credit for this). Before the Tao of Heaven and Earth can be realized, the populace must desire it. Therefore, rulers must be conceited to make the people do what they want. For the following reason, I alone know of no better way to convince a populace than to act as if one were like God. I have shown the people that I am good, I have showed them that I am not good, and then they would be satisfied with being like me. For the best people do not presume to make their subjects do anything, So the best rulers have no need to dominate the masses by force.

Everyone in the world is hungry, and the rulers always expect more. As soon as they get enough food, they act like a fool and take a lot more. My life is just like God, I have Tao. Good, tranquil, I do not do things. I am always clever, always quiet, I love nothing, I am always clever.

In the world of the living, everyone strives for progress, yet there is no progress. Therefore, at one's limit, everything is compelled to get something. Those who keep that way end up losing it. When everybody gives the Way, everything will become ordinary.

Tao is subtle. Since its hidden name has not yet been spoken about it has stayed hidden, forever hidden, like the silent springtime sky. Unmeasurable by its nature, yet not difficult to perceive by its properties, far beyond description. Since it is unfathomable, none can fathom its mysteries. The Tao as such has no name, although its original energy can be recognized, its subtle patterns are so far in the background that the observer cannot fathom them. Through the Tao of undying Individuals attain great measurelessness and purity, Heaven and Earth merge and become one, the myriad things grow in appearance; all existence is followed by old age. It is thus superior in this respect to its opposites: It is great in that it is able to receive the person who had no intention to help, the nation that had nothing to achieve, and the state, when no one was in need.It has thus had the same name as the mysterious concept. Thus the deep person knows nothing beyond [his own] very depths; this is because he has no ends to pursue. And the great is the knowledge that he should have.

The shih scholar, and hearers of the instructions, can count on the direction of the old:
The adept in the Tao acts only as a trustee;
in that sense he looks just the same
But within his action he leaves the ordinary
And returns to the realm of the noblest.
<|endoftext|>
The adept in shih Way, settles down in the Direction of Nature:

Yet when he does so, he takes care to spare none.
He acts for the good of the kin,

The master of Tao himself, the skilful observer, understands the natural way:
A wise man will behave in accordance with the way the way that he sees is.
Therefore, he will act for the good of the world, yet will not hurt others.
The skilful person, though acting according to the natural way, ignores personal gain.
He acts only as the trustee of others,
And if anyone endures in his favor,
It is because of the praiseworthy virtue of true justice.
For even the skilful person, though he acts according to the natural way,
In dealings with others finds himself judged only by his sincerity of intent.
Those who are followers of Tao call for someone who acts according to Tao:
For only true praisings are worthy of the trust of Tao.
A person of Tao is a good man indeed, for the people follow him and reward him, he lets himself be used;

If you want to be good at being Tao, then follow Tao.

When [your ancestors] obtained glory and fame, The Lord declined, and with this was the designation: "The substance of all things"That is to say, the world's substance. And therein is an example of what can be done. Act, therefore, without skill. This is what the Wise Person would do; He would always do (compare) this, and so he would not get it. Thus he obtained (with) glory and fame, (but) he could not be the same as that which had been.
<|endoftext|>
When a noble person is honored, fame follows. When the humble one is honored, he's simply classed as a guest. Thus, the substance of the world takes shape with the Way. The Way is neither difficult nor excessive. So, when there is no intent, this shape can be completed. It's this that leads the world to forget the practice, and hence they say: "If we practice it, it is not incomplete." This is what we mean by "yes."
<|endoftext|>
The first class of things were beyond speech and could not be spoken of.
The second class were constantly besought, and could be considered as guests.
The third class were always busy and could not be regarded as guests.
So, through act of duty, the ruler could embody the World.
<|endoftext|>
The first class of things was beyond speech; therefore, they were never spoken of.
The second class were constantly asked for; therefore, they were called "greeting guests."
The third class were always being requested for; therefore, they were called "efforts"
Thus, the Sage walked (through) the substance of the World with a kind soul.
<|endoftext|>
Being the first class of things, we can not be taught.
Being the second class of things, we can not be told that we are (at this point) seeking them.
So we must be beyond words,
To describe their active form.
When the Sage is able to do this,
His active form becomes clear.
The World becomes clear.

The ten thousand things were great and existed because of speech.
The first men were great and existed because of their manners.
The hundred families were great because of their greatness.

The Master (	) of many people does not display himself as a model; All his work is accomplished in slow steps. And yet he possesses no expectation, he appears scarcely to know what he does; his praise is not harsh. As long as people have no expectations of him, he has no need to be talked about. When the most important issues are decided by the smallest and most insignificant steps, he stands aloof, like the great leader. When the most important issues are resolved through the smallest and smallest actions, he stands aloof, like the great follower. Yes, when the leaders look up and see the beauty, the prettiness, the glory, and the reasons for the glory, and when the people love to give their thanks, this is the style of the ruler.
<|endoftext|>
The best of men seem not to be beautiful. They produce their worth on the basis of things which are hard to see, and yet can never be brought to completion. People forget their own ambitions when they contemplate others; when they accept credit when they fail. When leaders insist on being in front of the people and in the open, the people will forget what they have to do. The best leaders look like a fool, a simpleton, and a fool-proof idiot. He who looks with talent can not profit by what is great. The best of men never know when to stop. For there is no end to such a man!
<|endoftext|>
The most competent persons, though they have an appearance of perfection, are not devoid of goodness. As they accomplish in the course of the day the daily work, they do so not with desires of glory, but with what I call the [low] principle; And yet they live such lives of inner peace, and such life, that the achievement of the daily work is no longer seen by them. For they are great when they are great, and therefore great no one can make end of them. The master of the men-of-arms is not made famous by the men-of-arms, but he lives like one in the country, and does not appear to have his name called upon him.On the point of his being the greatest of them all, he lives such a life as if he had his first birth. He succeeds in the completion of what has been completed. He does not dwell upon the saying that he makes. For this reason, he is the man of the greatest value to the army.

A wise person of old is, on all accounts, bright and clever, Although quite plain and easily understandable. Not really bright, therefore appears an ordinary person.
While seemingly clever, it appears very natural; seeming clever, therefore it will be difficult for someone with less ability to comprehend.
One who has the trust of Tao Way is not like that. He's genuine.

The sage is plain and simple. Thus, he is plain.Just plain and simple. Without knowledge of wisdom, He is not truly plain.Though knowing of wisdom, He is not true.Being true, he is full.Being not full, he is empty. And he who laughs loudly in a situation that does not suit him,Will make the world laugh. He who laughs loudly in the times of peace will make the world mad.The wise person never laughs for their own benefit. It is the way of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The Sage is wise. He is so plain and simple that the others would get it easily and he would get it easily. When he is clever, he is so simple that they would forget him and he would get it effortlessly. And when he is clever, he is so simple that they will forget him and he will get it effortlessly. He who laughs loudly at people's misfortune will make the people's misery. The Sage never laughs in the beginning,But laughs late in the end. That is the nature of the Tao.

The best are calm, full of sweet.Yet the others would be easily confused. They are dull, full of imperfection. Therefore, the best are not clever. He who is clever is no fool.To be foolish is to be true.To be imperfect is to have virtue. This is why the greatest men do not laugh.I tell them that to laugh will make their hearts rend.Though I laugh at my own follies,I do not laugh at the world's follies.Such man never laughs, only laughs at himself. That is the way of the Tao.

While we listen attentively for sound, a great number of nay-sayers are about to notice. Such things go as soon as they are noticed; that is, all else, is soon done. The Tao invariably flows in secret, In subtle subtleties where no one knows. By a subtly soft action, those who are acquainted with Tao will meet the world with great smiles.
The universe always seems to be warm, Just because no one knows. One who knows what the universe is like: Oh, for its bright light. Yes: In looking at it, one meets nothing. Being alone, one can see its shadow. Being indifferent, one can see its outer appearance. Being deeply rooted, one can sense its deep depths. Only the deep, it is made visible. Being open to life, one can enjoy the wealth of the universe. Only the deep, how people understand, and how people behave, is able to truly make an effort, & to govern people.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao never stops flowing, never stops softening, never stops acting, never stops trying to master. He too, unknowing, the people also are surprised, they also also see him like this. Tao flows forever in all directions. It is always present, as if without boundary. It is always receptive, as if without boundaries. It is always receptive, as if without boundaries. It is always active, as if without boundary. It is always active, as if without boundary. It is always hidden, as if without boundary. It is always rooted, as if without boundary. It is always soft, as if without boundary. It is always penetrating, as if without boundary. It is always pristine, as if without boundary. The way people know it, the world trusts it. Only the path is beyond words.

Tao is always subtle; It gives rise to subtle and subtle effects,All subtle and subtle effects are rooted in one another. In manifesting itself, it brings about the appearance of being hidden and the appearance of light and brightness. Therefore, when one perceives the undiscovered innermost, the undiscovered outermost, they see this light and brightness; This light and brightness reveals all hiddenness and all being within. The hidden within reveals all inner peace, the innermost creates the outermost.Within each is an outer is the ocean of being,The light within reveals the depth within,The depth within reveals all the depth, and this is the secret of the vast multitude of being:The way to the outer reveals the source of the inner.

If a master knew to keep in motion a traveling carriage (for the longer) and lead it quietly and reluctantly, He would not require rope or bolts or chain of every-thing. To move slowly, he would cut through the thorn-bush in the morning. To let all things breathe by themselves, without looking, is to make them go on like myriads of nameless briers. He who knows what the strong will do when hard, will say that he knows what happens to weak.
In this way do the great are clearly manifested.
In deed, just as there is no good where there is no evil, there is no evil where there is no good.
So the good is in the shadow and the bad in the light. Hence, the greatest virtue is made manifest in a thing of tiniest form.
<|endoftext|>
Goodness and evil go hand in hand. But, alas, there is some good in this world. Is it, then, an ill that is too far off the mark to be called good?Is it, then, an off-putting that is ill?Yes, this is the essence of goodness and ill - off-putting goodness as well as off-putting ill-ness. For this reason, a sage states that some things are good, some things are ill. When it comes to things that do not yet exist, the sage considers that this is the condition that should exist.Where there is no future, he considers that it should exist. He thus accomplishes what others do not. He gives that which has no name, and therefore that which is called great. For this reason, great things are possible. From the beginning of time there has been no evil.

There is a doctrine that the virtues should travel together. Being way too much on the mild side, they cannot reach the deep depths. Therefore, they know the goodness in things and the ignorance in themselves. Because there are no enemies, they can be reckoned with. But, even though they are on the mild side, they are not already of the nature of being good. They know that there is no goodness in being and yet there is good in itself. That is why they realize that there is no having, yet there is also a lack, of something. Thus, they know that there is no brightness, yet there is darkness. If they knew that the light should shine forth and not darken, they would

The Te is the intangible of the Tao, therefore it cannot be explained. The deep subtlety that is very subtle and profound, is beyond understanding. Therefore, one should not try to describe it.For, in the depths, one can see the beginning of everything, everywhere. From this one can see the faint simplicity that exists in the depths of the universe. The faint simplicity is penetrating. From this one can see where to place the precious things that can make one whole. The few who have understood the concept of 'valuing subtleness' can give what they learn and practice it in their lives. Those who don't, are not useful to the world.

The Tao is the intangible, yet it is incomprehensible. Therefore, one should not speak of it;He who claims to know it will stumble. If you try to describe it, you will know it only by a dim image. But if you try to describe it, it will be indiscernible; If you try to describe it, you will know it only when you take in hand the substance of speech; But if you try to describe it, you will know it only when you use the definition. Therefore, if you are not told the difference between these two ways, You will understand that the Tao is the way of nature.

The Tao is subtle and subtle yet obscure, immeasurable in its power. In the darkest valleys a child will understand it through smell. In the hearts of kings and emperors children are raised to trust and love and govern in trust. When students speak of the Tao, they must refer to its power. When people of the world hear of the Tao, they must refer to its righteousness. The student of the Tao learns of the most precious lesson of the Tao: If you do not know it, it is all right.

The Sage is elusive, empty. The Tao teems in the formless. It is indefinable, elusive, so elusive. And the great and small continuously change together. A sudden and strong wind flutters past. It dares not to subside, for it is incapable of exhaustion. The leader of men is peaceful, peaceful, the Sage is still. The masculine and the feminine remain as yet in a state of simple wholeness, as yet without need for distinction, as yet without boundary. Even though they are quite great, they may never dominate the world.

The one is unknowable, then; the twixt is the entire.
Formless and mysterious, it's the one that in the fullness of being should not be without existence.
It's exactly because there is no existence that it is able to form.
In the complete emptiness, the subject attains its prime: its quiescence and its amiability yet it cannot but become strong and enervated.
When a great wind blows, its ripples do not finish. It comes and goes like no winds in its spaciousness and intensity, though it also is continuous.
It remains to me inexhaustible;

Those who learn by it show themselves common.
Those who possess by it show themselves specific.

If something is latent, then it is latent. If something is simple, then it is simple. If it has an end, then it has an end.

Softness and softness cannot penetrate deep and wisps; Nor, by their simplicity, can they be transformed. The simplest part is empty and yet becomes the richest. And in this, those who use the simplest part know how to use simplicity. But in their wisdom, few can know the simplicity and wisest thing they know.

When the forces of nature are so strong and strong, How shall they ever wither away?
So when the great and the small are merged, there is unity.
In this unity, there is the essential truth of formlessness and the nameless.
Without such essential truth, what form is there? What is without namelessness, what is the true essence?
Not knowing the essence, it is impossible to know the beginning.
Therefore, one who knows the beginning, knows the course of Nature.
Therefore, the great beings of Tao are foremost in nature,The lowly ones are foremost in Tao.
The lowly ones, although outstanding in Tao, are not distinguished from Tao.
But those whom Tao detests are those who call themselves ignorant, Those of Tao are distinguished by their excell.
Those of Tao are eminent in virtue,By virtue they are distinguished from others. The holy and the lowly are distinct,The holy are distinguished in goodness,By goodness they are distinguished from others.
He who has insight in virtue is detached from one's virtues.
He who has insight in virtue is detached from one's benevolence.
He who has insight in benevolence is detached from one's propriety.
He who has insight in propriety is detached from one's ability.
Of those who have both insight and ability,Amongst those who have ability,Only the adept is able to hold onto what is real,To maintain truth and value his ordinary life.

Why not to block it?

And one is free from worries because of the One who knows,
Within one's heart there is serenity and happiness
And, in fact, no worries arise.
To know peace and harmony in the heart,
Is to know that one is one with all beings.
To know the way of the One-Truth is to know how to live one's life in harmony with all beings
And then to lead one's own life in accord with the One-Truth.

Lead by forcing not by advice:The winds of the valley will blow hard, but do not overtake. The seasons in the Valley fade away, but do not last long. The mind of man is luminous, but is devoid of colour. The manifestations of the world are light, but dark and heavy. It is the silence in the hearts of men that I learn of.Thus I do not heed speaking of the inchoate - yet that is why I know. The inchoate cannot be spoken of,Yet there is nothing in my mind that cannot be written out. That which has been learned is held back and is not to be taught.
<|endoftext|>
The best leader does not demand advice. The powerful wind blows; yet it cannot go against the natural flow of the world. The world is impenetrable, so rare is the opportunity to display it.The people's hearts are bright and innocent; they are unable to possess the world, so the world has no choice but to let them shine. Therefore, the sage preaches humility, and does not use words to tell others to follow their own desires. There is nothing he can say, so he simply does what is easiest for himself. This is the master's wisdom:The people receive no direction but can instruct themselves.
<|endoftext|>
Can you do a good job of leading without the need of advice? You'll start with a natural flow of the world, and will follow natural way. Soon the world will be abundant in its treasures and things will be plentiful in their possession, free of constraint. The desire for appearance will vanish by reason of the lack of violence. The mind will not be tempted to display itself, for he will find no fault or faultiness in its completion. He will not shine with his accomplishments, because they will not be shown to others. He will lead according to his own will;and that means no forced words, and he won't force people to follow his way. The people accept the leader who leads according to the Way.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven cannot be coerced,If it were by words of example.Man is all-favored,Though he is without substance.Even the earth's manifestations shall be touched. And the heart of man's beings shall be beyond reproach;Yet he will be his own master. He that leads men with words can but fail. The master's word

When a river gurgles,
Better to rumble quietly.
When a door closes,
Better to press slowly.
The sage is not arrogant,
And all below him is quiet.
The gentle gossips overcome power.
When nothing is fixed,
The man of no talent will gain.
And: when there is no principle,
The goal is not reached.
The learning ends with speech.
But the name is for a book.
Since book is not enough to know,
Hence, a good student shall take speech as his rite.
<|endoftext|>
When a stream flows in abundance it is better to stretch its stream a little.
When a door opens smoothly, it is better to roll back a little.
The sage is not arrogant, and when his lord is well-placed all under heaven is in tranquillity.
The revering saints cannot but laugh at those who rule them.
Hence, the learned in their teaching are apt to express themselves in the mildest of language.
These, however, are best known by the word "lesser."
(Therefore) their words are, in time of peace, rarely accepted;
and those who employ them (in their teaching) seem to have no more for the motive than to be known by the name of the sage.
<|endoftext|>
By:Words of praise, they can be spoken
Also,
There are things that can't be taught:
Music and film can't be told how
How to defend in a meeting can't be shown, how to behave when a friend should see, how to draw lines of loyalty, how to clear the conscience, how to rediscover the vital place, how to create an everlasting and perfect relationships, how to a great deal, and thus can learn how to give and receive.
The objective is not the goal.
The words that are put in mouth may fail, but they can't be avoided.
<|endoftext|>
When rivers can go berserk, they should bray gently, and less forcefully.
When doors and windows will open and close without ado, the wise should remain indifferent.
Non-action is glorious.

The median [on the level] may have the natural strengths,
But even the highest rulers cannot override the opposing forces.
The inferior are always rough and untrustworthy.
The superior is always full of love.
So the sage uses both to harmonize the people.
The king may be too emotional,
But in the end the people will be happy.
When the people are happy, they also enjoy all kinds of things.
What's in front of you is not too far away.
It's not right to make it hard to distinguish.
Watch the events, and know they are governed by the laws.
Watch the details, and know they are governed by the laws.
Rules are in the eye of the beholder, And therefore the wise avoid words that mean so much.
They want things to be simple and natural, not confusing.
They want things to be so far away, that people cannot follow.
What's ahead of you, stay back.
What you do to yourself is for the sake of the world.
<|endoftext|>
In the world of mundane matter there is power in contrast to the mighty.
The great princes and lords never display themselves to the people.
As a consequence the people can sense the strong.
Highliness allows them to live;
nobility gives them security.
As for the places below the world, the soft and gentle wind is the prevailing power.
The highest are always happy.
Whenever a happy man finds peace he is satisfied.
Whoever follows the way of the Tao
is governed by it.
The general (may) receive positive actions (on his level), but the general remains unfavourable.
Whoever receives negative actions receives positive actions.
The general receives positive actions but he can not obtain them.
The general receives negative actions and can therefore use them.
The ordinary person acts and takes the right actions.
The intelligent man acts but he will not conquer.
Therefore the intelligent man ignores the words.
The intelligent person considers his actions and implements the rules.
The ordinary person acts and follows the rules.
Therefore, the ordinary person enjoys this life.

The world's median -- with its mighty, might -- that is no match for the supplicant. The higher powers lack the skill to exert them, yet such a power never fails the people.

There is a reason why the Masters of Tao were Leaders of Nature. There is a reason why the Masters of Tao maintain the natural unity between themselves. There is a reason why the Masters of Tao like to avoid distinction of opinion,
Because of their doing so well. The Tao Masters worked their way as people work their way. They did not interfere in the affairs of men.

If one who recognizes oneself as a Liadao: truly relies on his Nature (or inner awareness),Becomes the leader of the world. If there were no leaders, the world would fall into chaos. Therefore, the Masters rely on nature by being natural. And,If such an action is completed by Nature,We call it one who: did not use artificial techniques, regarded Nature as a resource, or once has confused all "the Five Essential Profounds with each other"The masters were clear-sighted, have an insight, and have a clear view of the ways of Nature.

Being good at being alone creates peace of mind. Being good at being a leader creates unity. Leaders are kind to those who serve them. A leader knows that it is best to stay out of the way, that any adjustments and adjustments are necessary. The leader who is kind and humble is just. Those who are kind and humble may seem like "tall," and those who are big and proud are arrogant. This may seem like "chicken-feeder" ridicule. But leaders are noble as they care for their people, and in the end, the natural order is preserved.

The wise ruler does not try to know everything,
Therefore, there will be no mystery in his work.
The master of nature understands everything,
And therefore there will be no contradictions.
The sage understands the universe,
And therefore there is no contradiction.
The leader of an empire understands the masses of people,
And therefore there is no contradiction.
The Sage completes his tasks,
And he accomplishes his work with no joy.
If the leader cannot be happy,
Then happiness cannot be accomplished.

Know what you do not want, and it will be performed.
Know what you want, and it will be fulfilled.
This is the way of the universe.
The most subtle is something difficult,
It is not always truthful.
The most cunning is not always consistent,
It is not always obtuse.
The one who knows what he knows is like the sky.
The one who knows what he has achieved, is like the earth.
The one who loves his people, is like the spirit of nature.
And the leader, in any group or community, is like the spirits.
In the Tao of the universe, things always work on their own,
They always seem right and live on their own.
We live in the world of illusions.
The Tao of the universe is not a mirror.
It is not the voice of nature.
It is not a ritual.
It is all subtle and is unlimited.

Know what you do not want.
You will be successful with little effort.
Know what you want.
The results will be pleasant.
This is the way of the universe.
That which is kind is tolerant.
And so the universe is tolerant.
That which is hidden is no secret.
That which is peaceful is serene.
The sage leads the people but does not dominate them.
He assists them in their needs but does not dominate them.
He does not style them clever.
The leader who wants to dominate the people will not enjoy success.
The sage does not press his will upon the people.
They are willingly obedient to him.
He practices benevolence but does not dominate them.
In his light the leader is like an ocean.
The people are one and he is the sea.

If you desire to take possession of the Tao and show the way to others, if you promise to comply with Tao and lead the people in the same way as Heaven and Earth, and if you keep to the practices of the Masters in the world, then your followers will enter and accept it fully, and you will find, alas, that the techniques and rites which had their origins in the sea do not exist in this world.
If you can control the influence of Tao but give no sign of your presence, it will not be able to assist you. If you give the sign of TAO but make no show of your power, it will not be able to fulfill its promises. Since the sacred remedies of Tao are everlasting, and Tao alone can work on the humble and powerless.
<|endoftext|>
The traveller who expects to win the followers is foolish.
The first to practice a five-fold Tao
can hardly be trusted.
The first to practice an individual-instrument
can hardly be trusted.
The first to use Tao to guide the people
can hardly be trusted.
If you prefer the Tao to rule the world
you are having no place.
If you prefer power to things
you are having no place.
The wordless and empty mandate has always been
the way of nature.
<|endoftext|>
Be careful not to overcomplicate the Tao.When leaders use it, they'll flatter and dazzle. When scientists turn their instruments of power, they'll think they have it.When people say they have something, they have no idea what it is.In spite of what they say, people in the real world are always right. So to say nothing and pretend to act is a lost art.Even when the words are empty and empty, this is just as true for men.
The Tao is the only established guide.
Tao is the void that can not be filled.
Tao is always with you.
You are the Master in this world.

The Tao is hidden and its name is enlightenment. Yet we cannot see it, we only know what it is. Enlightened, we cannot think about it, we only have the perception of its existence. It surrounds us like an ocean, we cannot see it. But it cannot be separated from us.

It is hidden and name it Tao. It can't be seen, for its name is still. Still it is like ocean; we can't see it. Yet we can't be separated from it.

To know all-pervading is to know the mystery of the self. That mystery is invisible, yet that we see through it.Without recognition, the mystery has no name. The Tao is the unapproachable (fathomless) like the infinite. It is the mysterious - formless like the universal (without form). In such way, we perceive it without interference. What we do is to manifest what we perceive.Without ever speaking we are able to act with spontaneous spontaneity. What we do is to observe what we observe.Without ever looking at what we observe, we see with the eye of a observer.Without ever comparing with the object of observation, we see with unbiased scrutiny. The unseen form of the Tao is incomprehensible. The formless in the Tao can be shown, but not the self. That self can be made obvious, but not the Tao. That which is shown, we call Tao.

Tao is hidden and may not be perceived. Its name is enlightenment. Therefore it is easy to understand what it is like:Enlightenment is only vague and nebulous, so that we may see what it is like.If we understand it, we should not classify it.It is not a single thing, but infinite and indivisible. It can neither be separated nor grasped, so that it is both like an ocean and a void.Just so it is silent, and so we can see it.Without distinguishing, we may see it in various ways.It is an incomprehensible thing, and its forms are incomprehensible, so that we can only observe them in their limits.Just so, it is something that transcends form, and is beyond ability to define, and so we can only perceive that which has its limits. It is hidden, and cannot be seen. So, indeed, it is indeed invisible, even

The Awakened See everything as it is. Therefore the austerities of the world Can be compared with the ancients. The subtle wind Blow gently from the highest heavens, And all things and their governing entities arise. And knowing the Way, all people will show them what they need to understand them. Nevertheless, since the Way never requires effort, some benefit is eventually obtained. But where the system fails, there is an equal lack of result.

At rest.
When Heaven is in peace, the Earth grows.
At peace, rivers and streams carry water to the valleys.
When Nature dies, people bury themselves and lie down.
Heaven rules by quieting the sky.
The silence of silence and the motion of void clears the mind.
The lord knows everything, even at his most base.
He is a sage, one who makes all the world understand.
He is a gentle man, like the people.
He does not act, even at the least he gains something.
He is not conscious, acting without conscious intent.
Only at his very lowest level can a person achieve results.

At rest, Nature in the heavens is as the ancient one.
When the sky is tranquil, plants spring up.
When Nature is stressed, All things and events return to their source.
When tranquillity reigns, the ten thousand things and institutions arise.
When cleverness prevails, All beings realize their aims.
The sage recognizes reality, and achieves his purpose.
He accomplishes his purpose by not striving and striving with other men,

When the Heavenly form is in condition, It has roots in the earth.
When it becomes aimless, It will beget the entities.

- The significance of the entities is older than their appearance.
- The presence of diligence in the realm of all beings is older than the appearance of diligence in the realm of human beings.
- The people of the realm of all beings have understanding that is

At one's best, they try to be just; And then they become good and become evil. They get drunk at the best; They get drunk and then they are wasted. Thus, on the Tao, we learn to be conscious of good,And see that what is bad comes from ourselves. If we are aware of the goodness of Tao,We can also see that what is evil comes from others. Thus, the Tao gets lessons that everyone should have.Being in an effective way,The Tao is well-liked by all.Being in an effective way,The Tao is well-liked by the world. Can you be perfect and reach the state of the Ultimate?
Being one who is nourished in abundance, will manifest the primordial type of grace.

To attain great things means to not have enough.

See the mysteries of Tao by the natural way. How far-reaching these mysteries are! How far-reaching these mysteries are! How great are the things of Tao. Those of Tao are full. Great, too, are the things without, and so pass the powers of being. I don't understand all the workings of things, But I can tell you that things in motion appear long and difficult. The multitude of things appear simple and gentle. They are then very hard to dominate and control. Behold what creates the wealth of the world: When it shines and runs; When it stands and rolls; When it gives and takes; When it walks and talks. I can tell you, but I do not know all its workings. But I know one thing for sure: When the spoils of victory are all gone, the multitude will return to plain living.

So that people are wont to follow in the wake of their leader: For when the earth is bright in the morning, and the river streams are clear, Some people in there are quick to light the place.
