The Great Principle proceeds in subtly passing Nature and returning to the return of its original nature. How subtly! Nature returns to itself. The Great Principle returns to its Natural way and returns to the return of its own nature. How mysteriously! Nature returns to itself. It returns to the origin of everything. When Nature returns to its origin it does not become extinct. It is the very essence of creation.
<|endoftext|>
There is the Great Mystery (The Tao), which, crossing a time, returning to the origin.
It is difficult to describe, and yet it has power to be described.
For how long is it crossing time and coming back to the origin?
What is the origin, and how long can it go on crossing it?
What is being is what is not being.
What is having, and what is having away.
How the very same thing is again.
It returns again to the beginning.
Returning to the origin is called The Mystery.
The mystery is reaching the source of all living things.
This is why they grow and go on growing.
All beings have a beginning, and a destination.
When the beginning is reached, that end is reached.
That end is the universe, and to it all being returns.
<|endoftext|>
In the beginning is the Great Reason, which is a subtle opening of time, which comes to the perennial thing (the Dao).
The beginning of time is like opening of a door, which opens into existence.
The transcendent essence is like the things of the world, which live but do not perish.
The unending flow of things, which is the essence of reality, is like the closing of a gateway.
This opening into existence is the second door, which closes into the state of emptiness.
The state of emptiness is the same state that exists in the beginning.
Throughout existence everything unfolds into the Inner Life.
When the Inner Life is properly illuminated, then there is the valley of limitless function.
Knowing this limitless function, then is one's inner nature illuminated, and then the mysteries of the Great Reason emerge.
From the limitless function until completion, there is nothing beyond the source.

Not by force of arms,

The greatest living thing of all eternity will never join the Tao.The greatness of the Tao is not called Dao.Therefore a man can neither advise him, nor use him.The greatest lives of the universe contain the capacity of eternal life,And what is eternal is good to mankind; But what is permanent is bad to men.A man's DAO brings about his DAO by means of being Dao;And the man who has reached the DAO uses the DAO.To develop the DAO to the depth of the depth is called the DAO's "turning."Reversal brings about the DAO's turning. The whole world is adapted to it and follows it;But a few become dissatisfied,And others are full of agitation. Therefore the Great Leader recognizes the people as one;He gives them personal form.If the people take him seriously,He will use them.If the people do not see him as they should be,He will not use them.

The greatest leaders (cannot) be influenced by manliness, which is inherent in the Tao, and yet a man of influence is uninterested in acting on behalf of it.If a great leader would promote the Tao by means of politeness, and use force of words, he would realize the same effect; If a great leader could handle the military, with force of arms, but retain the same sense of loyalty, and the same dose of willpower, if he had less passion for serving, his influence would be diminished. The great leader values the people; he nurtures the people; he works, not for personal advantage, and indeed not trying to dominate a people.

The greatest of all living things on earth is never to be influenced by manliness, and that is the word of men who manipulate it.The great people on earth are those who live by the Tao, do not advocate the practice of it, and yet take no steps to promote it. The great people do not strive for glory and power, nor make show of it.They take the Tao as an example to follow, and use it for their own benefit; the people, being wholly their own worst enemy, turn away from them. Therefore, the Great Leader regards the people as one, and treats them as a family. If the people act with loyalty and goodness, and not with suavity and distinction, the Great Leader will treat them

The ceaseless motion of the universe is contrary to the law of nature. Motion and growth are contrary to the law of nature. Both flow from the same origin, and the laws of nature have no single sign.
Therefore Tao masters all things and yet he does not act; he becomes whole; he is like a spring that never thaws; he is empty.
He whom nature produces and nurtures, nourishes and rears, makes them strong, true, and beautiful; but not being dependent on her, she never becomes confused; nor being held back, does not bewail her decline.

Predictably, the Tao is All-pervasive,
No need to be pounced upon,
No matter how we try.
What is it that makes it so all-pervasive?
One only needs to see it to know it.
Where does it live?
In its very essence, it dwells in itself,
Just as though the oceans and the rainforests live within it,
And the heavens and the Earth as their children.
If you can appreciate this essence,
And understand the existence of the Tao,
You will find the source of all knowledge,
Therein lies enlightenment.

The body of Dao is not a dwelling, and the body of Dao cannot be emptied.
Therefore: all things having lived together, they all have become one.
Males and females have existed together, and the unnamed has been reborn.
T.T. was born and is not dead; t -uk - hun - t -ao lives and reverts to nothingness.
It is always thus: it will never be exhausted,
It is never exhausted, therefore it is never exhausted.
And so the universe is what it is

Heaven and Earth, heaven, and earth, are the home of Tao;
Lao Tze says:
Tao governs
his dwelling, but not his foundation.
So people of good faith would accept him
and thereby accept his life.
They do not accept him and thus they are killed.
They don't accept him and therefore they are reborn.
Heaven and earth
are seen as
new beginnings.
There are those who are reborn
but do not know they are reborn.
They do not know they are reborn and therefore they
are renewed in the cycle.
Heaven and earth arise
in the natural course of things.
They do not issue from existence,
yet are reborn and perpetuate itself.
Thus the universe is
different from
everywhere else.
It exists
in order to make
it conform to nature.
It exists
in order to make
it perfect.
It creates existence
and then stops.
It is
the commencement of creation.

The heavens form the centre of the Tao and the earth forms the center of the Tao.

In order to realize the world, one must stay in their embrace.

Therefore, one should stay in the embrace of Heaven and Earth.
Thus the universe is made. It is made by the Tao.
It is made by the Tao.
It is made by the Tao.
It is made by Tao.
It is made by Tao.
It is made by Tao.

The soft is eternal And the supple is eternal, even though the worldlnce does not praise them or praise them; yet all the earth does praise and revere them. For the reason of this: The worldlnce prizes the soft over the hard; So the soft is respected and the hard is not. The soft is resented, The hard is respected and the soft is not. The soft is despised and the hard is not. Thus this is why the worldlnce regards the soft and the hard alike.
The far-off is born. The seen is born. The seen and the seen are born together. The seen and the seen are born together; the seen and the seen are born together. Thus the far-off is to the far-seen as the far-seen is to the far-seen. The far-off is praised and hated alike. Thus the far-seen is praised and praised by far-seen.

So that nothing dares disgrace it.
So the hard is honored, And the soft received.
The hard is despised, And the soft prized.

Without one's desire; the Sage attains the Tao; He doesn't need an eye to see what's going on.
Difficult things are done by themselves. It is difficult because of one's self-complacency, which is the Tao.

What is in rest has the rest of the Tao;
What is with Tao has its motion;
What has being has being of Tao;

One who fears TAO never becomes what he fears.
In this way, 'Being is what TAO is;
In being is what TAO is.'

What is subtle yet profound and stilling is the Tao!
What is moving yet yet without fault is the Way!
What has no pain is the Way!
Those who have nothing and who do not fear to lose them are happy!
Attainment is not forced upon oneself. If you take it lightly, you would rather die than fail!
It is well that those who say that they do not want to be born are not crazy!
Therefore, all things are naught before him!
His life is a damnation!
Therefore, one may remain in the embrace of the Tao and he does not die.
This is called the art of keeping in mind the whole thing: seeing the whole!

As for belief and proof, there is no such thing as trust, therefore the empire is calm.
As for action, goodness and goodnessliness are subordinate to it.
All under Heaven are in perpetual motion and hence they do not seem to have stopped.
If all under Heaven were to stop, they would need a center to reside in.
We speak of the old saying: "The dead do not move away."
Since they are at rest, then are they fit to be leaders.
If they were not fit to lead, then they would lose them.

For though I only study Tao, for example,
it is easy to see that the Tao cannot be perfected.
For to say it cannot be perfected means it is already complete.
Therefore, to make it less perfect means that it is already complete.
That is why perfection cannot be perfected.
The strongest is said to be the Earth.
The next strongest is the Valley,
The next strongest is heaven.
There is no place in the world with more heaven.
Even though there are things, they do not move,
We know this because they have no desire.
This is the strength of the strongest,
The next strongest is the Earth.
The next strongest is the Valley.
The next strongest is Heaven.
No place in the world is stronger than heaven.
Even though there are things, they do not wish,
We know this because they do not do.

Next in strength are the other things.
Next in strength are all the things.
The next in strength are the human beings.
Hence, they do not wish for more than they have, they have plenty, but not wanting.

Why should a fool think that they are the center of the world?

That we may see clearly the Way, we must first know that Tao is not the Way. The Way is not the Way and, therefore, the Tao cannot be Tao's way. Therefore, Tao cannot be the Tao of the Tao. It is the lowest form, and the lowest form is the Earth. The next low form is Heaven. If Heaven were

Practice this then: Do not set yourself high, but let go of the task. Do not try to force things, but let go of the difficult work. Therefore do not rely on personal success, do not try to get ahead of people, and do not be overly dependent on things. If one does not desire to be strong or clever, how would one become strong or clever? Therefore, the sage leaves the body and lets go of that which is weak, and he becomes fully reborn. The ruler should live in harmony with all things, but not take too much action, so that he may not achieve his goal. Therefore, one should practice leaven and not deal much with the things without an end.

Those who practice these five forms can be said to be formless.Without form, nothing is seen.Without no-thing, nothing is felt.Without feeling, there is nothing left to desire.Without no-thing, everything is being fulfilled. With fulfilled everything, it is in perfect harmony. When everything is in harmony, all things are so; there is no difference in the relationship of one thing with another. Therefore, be gentle when dealing with others; rely on your senses when dealing with the world; be cautious when dealing with things that you do not wish to damage.

Non-being produces the world. The Tao is the central thread that carries the whole world.
When the human mind is distracted, it causes harm. When the mind is in harmony, it brings goodness. When the mind is in harmony, it brings righteousness. When the mind is in harmony, it brings clarity. When the mind is in harmony, it brings harmony.
When the mind loses the clarity of harmony, it will destroy the collective.
The minds of ten thousand people are all cut up into separate entities, confused by the chaos.
When the mind recognizes what is, it becomes clear.
When the mind is dull, it becomes bright.
When the mind ignores the obvious, it becomes chaotic.
When the mind leads, evil follows.
When the mind ignores the obvious, it leads to clarity.
Therefore, the Master:
Loves Tao, And
Loves goodness.
Loves righteousness, And
Loves the origin of chaos.
Loves the origin of goodness.
Loves the origin of light.
Is like water.
Only those who love Tao and goodness are able to live a true, good life.
Only those who love righteousness and goodness are able to live a true, happy life.
Only those who love harmony and order will live a happy, harmonious life.
Therefore the Master is true to goodness and seeks to honor the Tao. He is true to righteousness and seeks to honor the goodness. He is true to order and seeks to honor the order.
Therefore the Master is true to the Tao, true to goodness, true to order, and true to order.

True virtue never causes merit. There is no merit in the world. The world has merit yet no excellence. When distinction exists, beauty and ugliness appear. When there are distinctions, the world's flavor is strange. By knowing that everything in the world is produced by Tao, we are secure that the teaching of Tao never causes us any gain. By ever thus we are sure to be stable.
<|endoftext|>
True virtue will never induce a gain; it acts simply by virtue.Without virtue, what does gain mean?It is nothing, without virtue, there is nothing.Eternal simplicity and a return to the mysterious we live in simplicity, return to the primal source, return to the origin.Knowing this, can one have assurance that the teaching of the Great One will never leave him?Without seeking to gain, one can guard against gain and gradually come to see the source of good and bad.

To be virtuous is not to be benefactor.Things may be benefactors but not benefited.Being benefit-less, benevolence may be perceived.Benefavabilities and illusions may be apparent,Without personal gain, one's humaneness may be observed.Through benevolence one may approach what is most good.
<|endoftext|>
Tao, abstaining from benefiting others, is the measure of one's goodness.Things can be benefited, but not benefitted. A man who is benefitted, is not a good man. The principle of a virtue-becoming, and being called a good man, is the principle of benevolence.Discord and the appearance of duplicity, when possessed of human kinds, are caused by the principles of benevolence and kindness.Alas, these principles are lost, and the man of good faith should venture to keep them. The master is one who is always keeping his secret; he does not presume to 'give,' he regards his possessions as precious treasures. The original was that which is lost, and he should not in his arrogance not strive to achieve his end.

When an ardent follower of the way leaves, so does the Way. If they do not love, then they will be sullied. If they do not hold fast, then their desires will be satisfied. If they do not flourish, then their activity will be dulled. Should this cause the sage to regard them as ungrateful and ungrateful, ungracious and ungracious, ungracious and ungracious, ungracious and ungracious, ungracious and ungracious, ungracious and ungracious, desiring to be disrespectful: these are insufficient as a reason to search for superiority and to resist power.
<|endoftext|>
In bringing in Tao to a country the virtuous are content to let go; they are content when things fall into order, and content when they appear chaotic. If there is no Heaven, the place cannot be ruled. If there is no Earth, the place cannot be governed. Therefore the Sage says: -- "All things do what they do, as if it were right. I alone am left behind and seem wasted.I alone am of no use to the world, my substance alone (of merit) seems to be wasted. Therefore I beseech this world (for favor) that it would not be cunning enough to give me in a vicious fashion. The meaner men are from the world the more cunning is the world."

When a man of integrity or virtue leaves the Tao,He will be preserved by Dao;If he does not accept Dao,He will be disordered. If he does not affirm Dao,He will be satisfied with ordinary things; If he does not flourish,He will be deprived. The sage says,The virtuous have the merit. But the demeaned seem to lack merit. He is not a god,but a man.The only one who has merit is not a god.The chief among men is not the chief among men. Therefore the sage holds fast to the doctrine that he is not at one with the world, and he puts no faith in the world. He is therefore able to say:I am not worthy to possess the world. And this is why he keeps in fear of the people. He refuses the pride of taking the world. For what is the meaning of arrogance in him, his goodness or goodness's goodness, even if it can't be compared with anyone else?

This is why it says that Tao does not act.
When an object is insufficient to serve its purpose, it may be required to interfere with it.
When a thing is insufficient to serve its purpose, it may be required to intercede.
Thus, in the ordering of events, all things have a reason for existing.
The myriad beings are of one nature, but are only remnants of an ancestor.
In order to render their services to the world, they need to know that they do not cause trouble.
They must be selfless.
The origin of the universe began without causing a problem.

The subtle Way is like a computer
Soft and pliable: To use it as you would a computer.
Its stiffness is so light that you might barely feel it.
It is so alive and so always responsive that all things depend on it.
And without you it would not be possible.
The heart of the mysterious Way:
effortless. This is what we mean:
"This is not acting"
"This is not nailing"
"This is not hunting"
"This is not contrivance"
These are its proper functions.
Reveals and ways:
These things exist, but only as parts of the One.
And when they depend on the One,
They do not want anything.
And if they want anything,
They can stay there.
<|endoftext|>
The secret Tao is like a computer, how gentle, how easy it is to use.It is always gentle, yet never unkind. So it is at rest, but not woebegone. It is always relaxed, yet not exhausted. It is always alive, but not detached. It is always complete, yet not inadequate. It is always in motion, yet not turned back. When things come and go, it stops.
<|endoftext|>
The subtle Way (wu tzu) is like an instrument.Man can use it but should not use it in a sensuous way. Therefore, it's gentleness is neutral. It's quiescence is also so little it is nearly invisible. Its life is so constantly going, it is so complete, it is so eternal. It is doing its own work, not wanting anything. And when it knows itself to be empty, it can always stay there
======================================== SAMPLE 7 ========================================
Therefore it is Tao that alone creates everything.
Because it alone creates, all things exist without rest. This fact is more profound than all the words.
All things exist and exist without rest. This is the fundamental truth.

Reel in fear as the whirlwind.
Meet with nothingness as a terrace is met.
Reach toward the center as the house is reached.
Get into embrace as the world is founded.
Enter as the Tao flows in energy as the Way itself.
Move like Tao on its way back to return.
From the Spirit of the Universe flow into existence.
With Tao is born the world. From Tao is born everything.
Thus, returning to Tao:
Reel in fear
Meet with nothingness
Meet with equilibrium
Reach toward the center
Reach toward the Way
Reach toward the Tao
Settle like a straw
Enfold like a straw
Gather like a straw
Blend like a straw
Drink as much water as you like
Wine and eat as much as you like
Everything in the world is born
And is never finished.
By being with Tao is born everything.
By being with no-Tao is born the world.
Thus: By being with no-Tao is born the world.

Do you know your fear

Then your fear becomes fear of nothing.
Nothing is eternal,

And you laugh at your fear.
The greatest Virtue is Love,
Yet the ultimate virtue is love.
All things are born

It strengthens everything.
With Love all things

He who knows the Tao doesn't want to know much. In order to know the Tao, he must first know the loss. To know the loss, he must first know the Tao. Yet the Tao is not the Tao in the end; the loss (of the Tao) is the Tao's motion. From infancy to old age the people of the world meet with trouble (in their minds). This is the Tao's concern. When there is confusion, it is the Tao's duty to prevent confusion. When things do not turn out as one desires, it is the Tao's duty to prevent their non-performing. And after the return to the purity of simplicity, the form of manliness comes out. As the shape of men is given over to children, (it is well with what is of nature). The power of mankind comes out. The height of dignity comes out, and then the height of ugliness arises. All of this is work of non-being. If one is not willing to be a full-time, all-encompassing being, he will only destroy it.
<|endoftext|>
Know the Tao and do not seek a knowledge. Do not seek knowledge, and do not seek the Tao. The one cannot be the other. The One is there, and the other. Nature's way is like this: as soon as some harm is done, it is given great grief. Life's way is like this: when a man is rejected by the whole world, he is given great honor. The way of nature is like this: When birth has reached its peak, natural order will take it; when its original wudang has finished its change, natural order will take over. When things of the world get good in their original state, natural order will take its place. When a man's natural character shines forth, it is natural order that brightens him. When that which is evil turns ugly, the natural order takes its place. And to know this: that which is natural does not lead to evil. Knowledge of this brings a great understanding of the universe.

He who turns over a wheel always pulls back, and the light he gives will have to be returned. He who drops down becomes lighter, and so comes down from the center. He who strengthens and strengthens and weakens moves to the center, and so comes up from the dust.He who identifies himself with nothingness approaches, and so returns to the uncarved block. The thin and the strong become thin and weak, and become as clay. Thus, a whole is born from a small, which is made of nothing. So, when you have given birth to a thing it will say: "I am nothing."So you know that when you receive something something has to come from your own efforts.

Tao is called the Spirit that moves, and that which nourishes the whole of creation. In this way it can be understood that Tao is the Spirit. By itself it is small, and yet it does everything, everything happening to it.It is light, yet it is bright, and yet it is indescribable. Therefore it moves like a spring and never stops. It is subtle, and yet it is undefiled.Through its work it gives life to all things.Through its actions it produces results.Through its praise, it raises honor, through its condemnation, it implies that it is empty.Through this we can appreciate the operation of Tao.

When the Way is understood, it becomes clear.
When the illusory is comprehended, it becomes clear.
The ten thousand things have their origins in this world and develop until they become animate. The animate have some beginnings and may develop according to the laws of the world.
If they do not develop, they take the form of things animate.
They have their beginnings, and they develop.
If they do not develop, they become objects.
If they do not develop, they take the form of things illusory.
If they do not take the form of things illusory, they become things real.
If they do not take the form of things real, they are devoid of virtue.
The sage seeks this lack of virtue
And thus he is always present to give benefit to those who lack virtue.
The ten thousand things are produced according to the law of Nature, and arise according to Nature.
Nature itself is impotent and does not begin.
It may begin, but it never has enough.

According to the cycle of the heavens and earth, it is only those things made of solid dust which may be considered complete. The entire world came into being from that dust. The people from that dust. The soul of this dust, the world, is the original substance of the world. The soul of the dust produces the myriad creatures and the world. Hence the Sage considers the world a shabby place (sao), and the dust an imperfect one (shih). The soul of the dust is the basic being of the world. The world and the dust are merely examples of each other. The world is a mere newborn of the universe (jen).
<|endoftext|>
When the heavens and the earth were at their highest degree, they were dust-free. The space between heaven and earth (the DAO) is called the valley of emptiness. The space between heaven and earth is the valley of the true self (the DAO), the sage. The sun and moon arise from the DAO (the True Self), the earth is an infant of the DAO (the True Self), the DAO is the source of heaven. With no desires, the DAO becomes our soul, giving birth to every living thing.

At the height of Heaven's empire, Heaven and Earth were without dust. The space between heaven and earth was from them.
The Tao itself was it's original form.
It was dustless, the mother of all living things.
It has no desires, it can be the source of creation.
It is the valley of things.
A great Tao is the valley of the world.
The Tao itself is the valley of the world.
The Tao is the mother of the world.

It is not the Tao that creates, the Tao that molds.

The space between heaven and earth was a valley of void.
The reason why Heaven and Earth are void is because of their emptiness.

The way of the universe is long and profound. It leads men to the places they can wantonly destroy. The world goes by it as soon as its fuel is exhausted. It lets itself decay. When it dies, it goes by us.The earth and all things, whether in infancy, the flowering-booms, the dying, are born.Because they are born, they renew themselves. What we do is only the confirmation of this. The way of the universe, it may be said, is all-embracing.It can guide, lead, or lord.Everything appears as it is.It works, it suffices. It comes and goes, but it endures. It may be called an ocean. Therefore, those who are after constant development do not resort to extreme force. They tend not to destroy things. For the sake of security, they avoid the extreme.
<|endoftext|>
The virtue of Tao goes far.A wise man does nothing without his master's direction. All creatures of the Tao become productive when their energy is at rest. That is, they go on after their mother. The world now as an infant reaches for its mother. The world as an early spring feeds upon a new start.Things without substance fail.Only when a thing lacks substance will it allow itself to die.Things that have no self begin. All things have their origin in the One,That is why they are called "the single." The "single" is called a valley and is therefore everlasting. The constant way of the universe is beyond endurance. In fact, that is how the universe takes its end in it.The action of the Way is directed toward the harmony of the individual and the mother of all things.
<|endoftext|>
The Way goes far, A wise man is not one to rest. The ten thousand things become functions when their matter is still,The ten thousand things appear by giving birth to them. The universe must, then, according to its nature undergo ceaseless renewal before it becomes sufficiently complete. Therefore it is said of the Way, 'It does not do what is bad. It never does harm.' It is known as the Way that goes back. It is known as the valley of life. The Tao that goes through meanslessness, too, is known as the valley of life.

All evil, it has been said, came from the point of Teh.
And evil which reaches the fulness of evil, does not come from Teh, as it were!

The Tao is dark and blunted; but everything that rises from it
is bright and formed.
The female creatures are formless, while the Teh is clear and masculine.
The Tao cannot be packaged in words; it is the formless, and the form of the formless.
The Tao is immortal and replenishes itself. All things came forth from It, and It brought them into being.
And Because It is formless,
it is also formless.
This simplicity of Formes, that is the shape of the commonwealth
of earth.
It is wholeness and non-overcoming of this unity.
That is why it is called the dark,
the nameless and the obscure.
<|endoftext|>
Tao's form is nameless and intangible, the Tao's virtue is submissive. The things that originate from the Tao are dark and muted; these are the attributes of the DAO. The DAO is blunted and the source is muted. This is why the DAO is the root of all things. One should know the DAO. One should have a moralizing heart. Those who know the DAO have calmness and an amiable spirit; those who have a moralizing heart have a strong will and cannot be satisfied. Those who cannot be content have a lowly position; those who have a strong will have a position; thus, the ignorant is born.
<|endoftext|>
The beautiful is anonymous. The submissive is imageless. The instruments of life are nebulous and fleeting. Creatures arise from the DE, But the DE is ever unspoiled. The Tao is true, but the Tao is not empty. The Dao is real, but the Dao is not empty. The Dao is a mystery, Yet the way of the unnameable Dao Is the road of living.

The Way cannot be explained, and so it cannot be inferred. The Light moves forward; it is not a lagging step. The Light proceeds to do nothing, and without motive to act. This Light does nothing itself, but so it does not define itself. The Light does not assume a name, so it is not tainted by its mists. It is the Light that goes on behind and behind without desire for one's own honour, without desire for recognition, without desire for leadership.

The highest truth is hidden in the depths of your being.
The way is slow to unfold.
The light moves slowly.
The Way brings fulfillment but finds no satisfaction.
The empty space attracts and nourishes.

When the light has no use for you, you become use to it.
When the empty space has no use for you, you become use to it.
When the way turns its back on you, you become use to it.

The infinite wants nothing, yet is always in supply. It would die of lack of stillness; it is shut away, but seems only to be there; it is empty, but does not become vacant; it is full, yet does not have yet more; it has energy, but still has the vital parts, which make it new; the ruler, though he may live in the great and the good, is not the source of all, but can only fall.
<|endoftext|>
The Way in its three dimensions cannot be expressed. It is a thing of nothingness, yet complete; latent; though ever there it appears as something, yet remains untouched, and unoccupied. It is aware of the cycle of changes, yet does not dwell in them, and yet becomes illumined. It is clear, yet is not identified. It is whole, yet is not empty. It is everlasting, yet changes its form, and that through change of that of itself. The Tao in its fullness can never be measured. The beginning cannot be known. The end cannot be named. The guide, though never one to deny, only says nothing. Thus, even though he is small, he has a heart of deep significance.

Dao in its tao is not constant; it is changable.
Therefore, it is not absolute.
It is not absolute.
It may have a beginning but has no name.
It is serene and does not change.
It may have the belly of a great river
But is not big enough to get the flow.
It is complete yet it may not be perfect.
Thus, it is neither absolute nor perfect.
It may appear to be a thing of infinite power,
Yet it is also a thing that, being insufficient, cannot be used.
It may appear to be the light of the world,
But it is also just the light of the world.
Therefore, even though the former may appear to have it,
it is in reality not like that at all.
It may appear to have an origin,
But in fact it has no name.
Thus, it can be divided into four classes, which can only differ in the most minuscule detail.
In them we have the Sage,
who, like the light of the world, is self-existent.
He may be the first, but has no

Nature is the Indivisible Tao.

Nature's Tao is always advancing in four directions; there is a universe within itself. The universe has existed for some time, before the appearance of the universe. In the appearance of the universe there were things; things are what they are today; their differences are in the future. Because they have existed and not yet been distinguished, they remain so. From their existing, therefore, they remain intact. When the universe attained the highest excellence of
anthropophagy, this was its function. This is its function. This is the function of the great virtue and the function of loyalty to virtue.
Honor and belief in loyalty are things of the past. It is the times when the kindness of good ones prevailed. This is the times when this kindness prevailed.

If you cannot find your essence in the universe, you can never attain enlightenment.
To realize ineness, one must first possess the opposite.
If one is possessed of the opposite, then one is free to focus on the Tao.
If one is focused on the Tao, one is free to practice fine arts.
If one is proficient in art, one is free to live a rich and comfortable life.

If one lives contentedly in harmony with all, one is free from the danger of being forgotten.

If you are willing to lose nothing, you will be able to realize your fullest potential.

Difficult as it may seem, the ancient square should be regarded as having few squares. Sorting out a hundred carriages is no easy task. For to undertake this task even the King would be more successful by sparing himself.
Perhaps he can spare himself by doing less; perhaps he can spare himself by doing more. He who loves the Tao
Though possessing the Tao, is something that cannot be possessed.
<|endoftext|>
When everything is as chaotic as it is, who can measure it? [Before] numbers! If that which can be measured is not the original Nature of the universe, it will not be the method of harmony.
Difficult as it may seem, the ancient square is certainly not simple; it must be stretched and tauted, then manipulated with care, so as to give rise to the hundred carts. But a great wheel, if it is not tauted, is not stable; if it is not made stable, it will not be strong; if it is not strengthened, it will not be free.
The great thing cannot be destroyed; [yet, because] it is free, it can be destroyed. The cause of the great is not destroyed; [yet, because it is free, it can be destroyed].
<|endoftext|>
When the myriad things make use of the square (of the Tao),It is [therefore] impossible to be made one with them. If they be made one with it, it must be (too) rough. And if it is not rough, it will not be (usefully) strong; And if it is not strong, it will not be free.In things that have no beginning,They are not (to be) unmanifest; But things in themselves are not not in themselves (not to be) unmanifest.
<|endoftext|>
The square (Tao) is boundless and formless, it cannot be made fit or transformed. And if it could be made fit or transformed, it would already be complete. The square, though vast, is not an empty vessel. If shaped, it cannot be cut. And if it can't be cut, it will not be fit or perfect. In the limitless and formless squareThere is none worthy to be named. If there was a worthy one, it would only be forced to be its servant, but it would not be in a

Nature is continuous, without end, moving without beginning.Eighty-five years ago it existed; it has been without a beginning and without end.Things arise out of nothingness; exist out of itself.Just as Heaven and Earth exist out of nothingness,The Way is without name or image,And should be taken as the unchanging principle of its own essence. To be with the Way is to be its path. To be without the Way is to be its root.
<|endoftext|>
Nature is constantly in motion, but without a beginning; it is past; within it lies everything. It is silent, yet it is soundless, it is eternal, it is mother to all things. It is called "effulgence". It is called "solitary". It is called "unpretentious".It is called "transcendent". It is called "soft".
<|endoftext|>
Man's unity is his law: He is limitless; creates without a beginning; eternal, and without opposition; so full and profound. The entire universe is produced out of nothing; there is nothing to oppose it; and it emerges from without. Existence and non-existence are inseparable. It is through these that the universe returns to being.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth are indivisible; what they do is without beginning. A lifetime without end They gave birth everything. But if they stopped, It would not be Heaven or Earth.
<|endoftext|>
The Grand Origin is constant, And the Manifestation is perpetual. A preceding and a following. What is without beginning, What is in nothingness, What pervades everywhere, It is the root and Mother of all things. It is called "Self-Existent." It is called "Arise, but do not pass." It is called "Extend, but do not contract."
<|endoftext|>
The universe's perfect law is infinite. It does not come into existence, but it gives birth. How much beyond what's known, it gives birth all things, beyond the valley of time, beyond birth and death!
<|endoftext|>
In nature there are four kinds of cycles.
An artificial entity cannot be considered part of the universe.
In Nature things live and die without defining them;
Natural things have no beginning and have no

Consequently, virtue and morality govern the world, while morality and virtue govern the home. (Both are) hidden, and yet useful.
Wise and willful are examples for the wise, and even the foolish are effective models for the foolish. (In all situations, the foolish may be most valuable; and it is the foolish, in all situations, which is most deserving of destruction).
Therefore the Taoist, at the helm of the great computer, embraces all things, takes them by the arm, and husks them out. But so that people might use them as tools.
The Taoist, at the helm of the great computer, collects the single, is the means of facilitating personal fulfillment, and takes them to be implements of the great regulation. (It is precisely because one collects things that one is their master and chief, and their chief for that matter; as the Masters take in their instruments.)
The Taoist, regarding things as of importance, makes his person and word a corner to himself and to all things. For he considers himself independent of the world and of the world's affairs. He considers himself quite separate from the world, and so is equally the chief of both.
Therefore the Sage is the Master of all things, while the Sage is the model for the Sage.
And so the sage is distinguished by his greatness, while the sage is distinguished by his serenity. The sage works, but does not meddle; he acts and is not outstanding; he acts but does not interfere, he acts but does not distinguish, he acts but lays claim to leadership.
Dao governs the world, yet is unknown to the Tao. Tao governs the home, yet is known to the Tao. Thus the following may be understood:
He who walks the Way is welcomed wherever he goes;
But Tao welcomes all beings equally.
He who practices the Way leads in the world, yet takes no action.
He who practices the Tao leads in the home, yet receives no interference.
Thus we can see the distinction:
We know that one leads and is taken by: the other is left alone.
Therefore,
Dao is a thread of Tao,
a channel for people to travel,
a supply for their lives.
Tao is Tao's guide and perfection.
One who follows Tao is not self-seeking,
and such are the results of self-seeking.
One who follows Tao is like Tao,
being in harmony with Tao,

Here I try to give myself light. I try to make myself dark. I try to make myself good. I try to make myself fair. I try to make myself inadequate. I try to make myself inadequate. The DAO is unresponsive; it flows only gently like water

The DAO is good at creating; the good always does so in accordance with its nature,

Goodness embraces all, but never within us, so there is always something we need to protect, something we need to love, something we need to guard, something we need to govern.
The DAO is invisible and you cannot see it;

Expressed insight arises from non-existence.
Oneness is achieved by difficult differentiation.

The most subtle essence comes from the insufficiently subtle.
Expressed words arise from the inadequate as well.
The world begins from non-being.
The Source does not try to prove this.

Know thyself, and all things will follow.
Know them not, and they will not be.
That which is called understanding the masses of things
Is without knowledge.
That which is called knowing the whole world
Is knowing without words.
That which is called going by far back in time
Is (only) crossing the tracks of things.
These two cannot be confused.
The profound and the plain are the same in substance.
The profound is different from the plain,
It is the mark of all things which has existed.
The Wise Person diligently carries this profound essence (of the Way)
And makes it useful for others.
(He must always give himself to it.)
Yet the world of things does not need this (profound essence),
It seems to be without a substance.
The way is the way and the world is the world.
So it is that the substance (of the world) differs but the substance (of the Way) is the same.
This is its mystery.
As the mysterious and the plain both bear the same origin (a name), so also do the (subtle) nature (of things) which exists (in the world).
From what origin all the substance (of the world) proceeds.
(Therefore) the way is the world's way and the material world's material way.
(What is this essential mystery?) which distinguishes the two?
Thus does this (mystery) yield to the certainty of our (finally complete) Eternal Laws.

Good and the bad alike and they will not be rejected; these two

Thus: Knowing
the masses of things is without knowledge;
Knowing the real presence of things is without word.
Then the world arises, yet the roots do not come into being.
Consequently, these two are different.
Beyond their depth is the One, the Non-being.
This is the source of the myriad worlds.
If we only know this as ONE
One we may describe and understand them:
The way of the Tao is Way and the world is world;
how do we know that this is so?
Only the One is seen and this is what is true.
With no words or understanding it would not be true.
This is the Tao, what it is, and

Heaven and Earth take their names from the Heavenly Te,
Earth and Heaven are given their names from the Earth,
And heaven names itself from Heaven.
Hence, the one and the same were born of Nothingness.
The different parts were of one and the same.
Some are good while others are bad.
Some are spacious while others are narrow.
Some are strong while others are weak.
Some lead the way while others are found wandering.
Now, the root (high order) of all things is contained within the root (common-use)
For heaven and earth to be what they are by means of what they are;
The other things in the world are what they are by means of what they are.
The same mother takes care of both;
While other things change as well,
All things change by nature.
The nature of nature is to seek the (origin).
The nature of affairs is to return to the origin.
Heaven and earth make their bones (origin), and earth (origin) their brawn.
Earth and heaven make their bones (origin),
And heaven and heaven make their brawn.
These are different families.
But in the same way the One (origin) and the many are both different.
The One (origin) is the common (front) of the many (front);
While the many (backward) are also the common (backward).
It is the kindling (origin) of the myriad,
And also the one which nourishes them all.
Thus the origin of the myriad is in the One (origin);
And the life of the one (origin).
Is the mother of the myriad (origin).
All things are connected to the One (origin),
And also are nourished by the myriad (origin).
Thus,
Heaven and Earth yield birth to the One (origin),
Earth yields birth to the Many (origin),
And the Heavenly produces birth to the Collective (origin).
What heaven produces, earth yields
And what earth produces, heaven produces.
The common origin is the mother of the Collective (origin).
The host of the One is one,
But the host of the Many (origin) is the mother of the Collective (origin).
The Collective (origin) is like the core of the One (origin).

Non-being is to be differentiated from heaven and earth.

The governing body is intelligent, but not intelligent. On the contrary, it is possessed of an intelligence even greater than the intelligence of the intelligence of itself. Because it is intelligent, it can act without expecting action from its subordinates. Because it is possessed of an intelligence, it is also able to act without expecting any response from its subordinates. Thus in the valley, when the leaders sow the tao (wisdom), no one responds. When the Wise Person accomplishes his task, it is to the astonishment of all. When the leaders fall, they are disempowered. Since the function of the Tao is to fulfill its tasks, no one is in doubt about the purpose.

The governing body is intelligent, but not intelligent. On the contrary, it is intelligent even greater than the intelligence of intelligence. Because it is intelligent, it can act without expecting action from its subordinates. Because it is intelligent, it is also able to act without expecting anything from its subordinates. Thus the Dao is in every way adaptable to the ways of human beings, and so can be employed by them. The forms of Dao are ever suitable to the ways of human beings. Thus it is that the Dao is both adaptable and adapted, and so can be utilized by human beings. The relationship of Dao with the way of the way human beings takes is so direct that there is no possibility of doubt.
<|endoftext|>
The natural governing body is full of subtle powers.Yet, despite this, it is intelligent.Because it is intelligent, it has all the power.Even though it has this power, it uses it without any expectation.Because it has this power, it is able to use it without expectation. The natural way is to produce the things, as if nothing was missing. But in making this existence, the mind cannot find any other way. Thus the natural way is useful and functioning for the sake of creation. In the same way, a human being has no other way but to work.He is in the constant service of the natural way and so can function properly. As the natural way is self-learning, the way of the human being cannot be taken from him. When one does not know the natural way, one follows the way of the human being. If one recognizes this way, one will be aware of the natural way in others.

2. Motion invariably begets movement, And weakness invariably generates weakness. Those of great virtue abide by virtue, And then bend themselves to the world. If they bend themselves to the world, They go forward. And when they go forward, The Tao follows it. Thus the chief men are one with the Tao, And the ancient kings, the same as the ancient kings. Not the empire, or not the empire, but the ancient kings. The fame of the fame is the ruler of the fame; The eminent men differ from the eminent in the same way as the eminent differ from the common people, and are but ministers of the empire.
4. Therefore the Sage shuns the mediocre;
The righteous reject the unworthy.
These sayings govern the way the path that leads one to the left:
From the left, one descends,
From the right, one rises.
Those on the path of the Tao follow the Tao, but find their names inadequate; And so they seek the non-Tao.
5.
Wherefore the truly man of old followed the Tao:
Though the multitude followed the ten thousand things,
He chose the Tao to guide him.
7.
On the path of the Tao, the wise man takes the left hand;
On the path of the Tao, the left hand takes precedence;
From the left, he brings good fortune;
From the left, he rises.
The un-lucky one rises to the front; The lucky one becomes the sacrificial victims.
In the rites of the old ways, man was one to one with the Tao;
In the rites of the ancient ages, man was one to the Tao;
With Tao as an eternal principle, man found his true nature; In ancient times, he found his nobility.
<|endoftext|>
When the ten thousand things have reached such vastness,
they turn towards the subtle.
Therefore the subtle becomes the stillness.
Thus, the still becomes the motion.
The motion becomes a depth.
Therefore, all things ascend without departing from the four quarters.
The four quarters are the summit of the unity,
in the depths it is the valley of thorns.
The high embraces all under heaven,
but the valleys are the place of this whereon each and all must ultimately come to its root.
For man's root is in this valley of thorns.

Now, what is not named is itself. Naming does not identify things; Naming produces nothing. Those who are called, at the root of being, are what exist. Because They exist, they are ordered to exist; Those who are called are at the root of existing, and so remain the basis of existing; And, as being produced, they are the basis for existence. This is the same as generation of things, inasmuch as They are the same under Heaven but are found in a different state. The Sage, then, becomes the beginning of the world, And the Way is the means of attaining the ends.
<|endoftext|>
The principle of his being, the oneness of man with the Tao.Is it wise and deep, Which has no name, And should not be stressed? All things have a beginning; this is the Tao.Although they have a beginning, They remain indistinct; Is this not the reason That all things have a beginning?Only those who are without knowledge Are capable of sounding their notes; The profundity of their notes Resembles the things which have a beginning. Thus they proceed, with Tao-knowledge,From being vague and without name. The profundity of Tao,The lack of profundity. Such is the Way of Tao.In affairs of Tao the beginnings Are preserved; In affairs of lack of Tao, They are forsaken. This is the Way of Tao,The service of distinction. Thus the world are preserved And he is the originatorOf all things that are.The way of Taois the basis of the rules of life.

The Tao, being the nameless of its nature, causes all things to exist. Its all-encompassing effects are only known to the observer of the Inner Light. It is the essence of all existing things. The nameless everything has its own name. From the common occurrence of them, one can distinguish what they were.
Since every thing has a beginning, so should all beings. For one who knows how things happen, it is possible to know their sources. For the reason of this being, it is very useful to know the origin of the roots. Knowing the origin of the roots helps one to know the origin of all things.
The Tao aspires to non-existence; this is its greatest virtue. It causes nothing to exist. However, it brings to being, without having any effect, because it accomplishes

Then on account of its being non-existent it too is called (named), That which is not named can also be called.
Thus, whoever knows (and teaches) This Way of Nature proceeds virtuously.
Those who reject this Way of Nature, call them followers of evil (genetic mutation).
Who calls these followers of evil (genetic mutation) is in reality a loyal follower of the good.
Who willfully rejects the good, willfully advances the evil, He is a coward.
Thus, those who follow this Way are truly profoundly concerned with things
and attain their goals in this world as well as the next.
The way that is embodied in this universe is describable as Tao.
The way that is evoked in the world is te.

"In the late afternoon, from what you leave behind."
"In the morning, look at it last."

"After things appear, learn how to live."
"Once you learn how to live, you will overcome the world."
"If you conquer the world, the way will break up. How do we know when the Way will break apart?"
<|endoftext|>
The morning is first the Tao. The late morning the Tao. The leftover is the Tao. The oneness of the Tao has no beginning. The oneness of the Tao happens, and leaves nothing undone. As when living: It comes, and nothing is left undone. As when dying: It comes, and everything is left unopened.

In the morning, you stand first. In the late morning, you stand last. In the morning look at it first. In the late afternoon, you look at it last. In the late afternoon look at it after.
Therefore, the Sage must first seek the Way and then proceed with clarity. To proceed with clarity, the Sage moves away from disordered action. If a disordered action makes the Sage needlessly inactive, it must make the Sage effective. Acting without enabling, the Sage creates a society of spontaneous action. As a society of spontaneous action, the Sage is equal to all other efforts of socializing. As the Sage is equal to all other efforts, there

In this manner the secret of Tao Is this: Having nature, It no longer needs to resort to 'superior power.' Be happy as you are without being happy, Be united with your true self without being united. Do not fret about what others think you should be, Or yet the ones that think you should be. In Heaven and Earth, Self and Cosmos flourish naturally. And if you look carefully you will see that Heaven and Earth never seek or desire to claim it for themselves.

Knowing the Tao is the beginning of knowing how the world works. How everything is connected is the essence of how things work. We just do not understand this. No one knows. Therefore it is said: "Those who know the Tao do not know how things work." With them all things come into being. With them they come into being but only after they have lost their self-properties. I shall describe what they may be called: 'manifest beings.' Those who know this "Manifest Being" will not try to be something better than he is. They will treat him with kindness and love and recognize him with pity. They will honour him, too, but will value him more as he is. Thus they both know that the common bond of the Manifest Being is to take care of the one and to honor the other. These names do not mean the same, nor do they refer to that.
<|endoftext|>
Being Tao-Knowledge is the beginning of knowing how the world works. How everything is done and handled is the essence of how things work. That being doesn't understand this is called Not-knowing. The only one who can know is the eternal Tao. Without the Tao: without desires. Who knows the Tao? Only those who know the Tao and not their desires. Who doesn't know the Tao? Who's also not the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The starting point of wisdom is the dao. The ordinary dao exists in non-existence, and is therefore good. The good dao is, being. So the being (non-existent) is called "Vendors," The good dao is, being. So the being (non-existent) is called "Return," And so "Vendors" is called "Present." To know (that which is not dependent on its existence) is to be liberated from its (dependence). Be without desires, and you will remain with the virtuous

Since existence exists, it is called primordial. Since non-existence exists, it is called substantial. Therefore the ten ages of the ten sons of the Tao (that of each representing the tangles of that primordial thread) agree.
The offspring of the primordial thread is said to be called great. The offspring of the mutable is said to be called hidden. The hidden is the image of the great, and the great is the accomplishment of the servant. Therefore the sage (to his people) is said to have one small children. The way of the sage is this: "And he assists them not, And thus endures long; But aids them by not acting, And thus becomes effective.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao, which is the Principle of all things, is divided into three distinct natures. The three natures in this division are called "long"; "short"; and "young". When we look at the great, we must also take into consideration the minor. If we look at the small we must also take into consideration the great. This is a profundity, so profundity we must also take into consideration. This profundity has a name, but it is not insignificant, so we must also take into consideration it.In relation to the great, it is said that the lesser parts have a destiny as well, for although the great is unlimited in its accomplishments, the lesser parts have a destiny; for though the great can be extended, and may rise to meet its destination, the lesser parts are constrained by their destiny. Thus, the great has no inferior; it also has no inferiorities.Hence the sage lives in the realm of Nature; therefore he lives in the realm of Nature in accordance with Nature.

The mystical essence of the Tao is the formless Unity.
It is the mother of the four winds and four seasons,
and the beginning of all things.
Therefore, know that the mystical is eternal and self-visible.
Know also that its manifestations were preceded by something more subtle. The truly simple creates the greater image. The great creates the lesser. Thus, the sage: - lends the advantage to the mediocre and the unworthy - thus bestows upon the inferior. - is successful, in spite of himself. - takes the initiative, in spite of his inferiority. This is the great teaching. Those who follow this way
endure long. Those

He who is pre-eminent Among men and who does his deeds Rightly commends It not (with the proffered fame).
Therefore the sage, being king, Does not spread It self about, is not favoured nor exalts Himself to attract the esteem of men; He does not contend, Neither does he lose his ground.
The essence of the Tao, In its nature Modest and subtle; The Tao always in its nature Modest and subtle, Always subtle, And always subtle, Is referred to as silent, As 'Lonely,' as 'Sublime,' as 'Rare,' as 'Untouchable.'
Therefore it is thus, (To set) aside fame and elevate one's status, Man must all but cease to be a man, And rise to the status of one, as all men do.
Do not associate with men as if you were a man, And some will no longer be men.
That is the nature of a man who has attained the Tao.
(Mighty) actions often appear inadequate, and weakened in spirit, while the most hearty and long-lasting are plentiful and quiet, while tender and all-embracing virtue seems blemished, while sincere sincere belief seems inadequate, while all the myriad inner instincts seem vacillating, while desire and the love of anything are faint and feeble, while speech is indistinct and blurred.
The origin of the Tao is called darkness and mystery, Which signifies that when The Spirit of the world aspires to the flowering of greatness And the power of greatness is exemplified in human kindlings, That is when it endows men with spirit and class is produced, That is when human kindling happens, It happens as it were as soon as the Principle of Tao Comes into being and forms the world.

What the Tao is cannot be expressed in words, Hence by letting this be known, it may be fully defined. In names in the universe come These are called inscriptions on the entry-way of the Tao Therefore it says, "The infinity of the universe is beginningless. It is called the gateway of the Tao. Where do we go to find the light? We know by following it." This is known by giving names. And how can names change? By acting in accordance with them.
"Through the Tao," says a man, "does not any body come; Through the myriad creatures never a body spake; Through that which is not not the Tao does it find utterance; Through what is the name of the Tao does it win its ebb. All these things, following the Tao do not exist; Following the myriad creatures do not accomplish what they do; Following the Tao they accomplish their failure; Following that which has no name, They name their natures. Hence it is said: "Tao does not exist, And things that are not the Tao arise; And things that are not the Tao make manifest their failure."

The light that emanated from the Tao (Tao in essence and action) does not use words, nor claims to be intelligent. It is without desire, yet it alone can be perceived. For me, even the shining lights can be put to use only when there is light. If light were to shine on it, I should go blind (in time and space). Hence, the Tao uses the formless, that is, it shows, it shows the formless, that is, it does not show. It shows the substance of the Tao, and because it does not show (it may be all there is, and yet it cannot be shown), it can become the light that is cast by the Tao.
The ruler who does not make the world feel whole can set the world right. As a rule, the best leaders don't act out of ambition to be great. So, those who have ambition do not take charge, and those who take charge do not act out of ambition.
Therefore, taking action from the heart of the action, one feels alive when one acts. Therefore, if the light is not lighted in front of the ruler, the ruler will not know whether he is on the right path or on the side of darkness.

But it never tries to become visible.
The mysteries of the Tao are without number,
Because they are without number.
The softening of its surface,
Is this how Tao gets what it wants?
It never wants to come close to the light.
For it knows that only by being drawn close can it become
luminous.
The Tao seems to say: "I am like this, I wish to be like that."
And the opening of the center makes it open.
How to become like the Tao is by becoming light
And the shadows of the Tao.

If we esteem nothing,We will not be defiled,We will not be opposed.Thoughtless is DE, but Vile is the DE, Sanguine is the Vile [that is Vile], and Propriety [i.e., aye silent] will be virtuous.

The ten-thousand things depend on something, and that which depends on it is called 'Substance': Its form is called 'Substance'.Being Substance, I call it 'I': Its name I call 'This'. If I regard nothing as defilement, I will not be defiled. By seeing nothing as defiled, I am saved. Sincerity and integrity are called 'emptiness'. Sincerity and integrity are called 'substance'. When your mind is filled with tranquility, you can be open. When you cannot control your thoughts, your actions will be spontaneous and natural.
If your mind is immersed in chasing after things or taking credit for your actions, you have no center of gravity.

Harmony is inevitable. Separation will be painful. It is true that the partners seem to have different personalities. When they are immersed in the deep expressions they seem still and silent. When they are separated and cannot be separated they seem exhausted. When they are united and cannot be separated they seem strong. When they are stubborn and stubborn they appear to be impotent. Nature is infinite. In its essence nothing is limited. Without beginning, nothing will end. From a mind without intention nothing is ever empty. The great leaders in the world possess power and ability and people believe them. No one doubts their ability. If the leaders in the world acted differently than they act now they would be ridiculed. Don't think of the leader as a fool and don't look away from the leaders.
The leaders come to power and on arriving hold the people in their embrace. Without their approval, the leaders fear them. To people leaders are fools, Who when out of the country go the same way as others do. Therefore Tao nourishes and guides all things and separates it from its rest.

The Beginning is truly depth,And all Tao flows; Is it not?Not in name as well as in substance; Not like name and not like name,Does it not abide,And all to its own?Did not the Ten Thousand Things come to rest,And call it life? And were there no beginning, how could we say its end?For it is those who see themselves as Leaders who can count on such adherence; But in the world this trust lies in the people. Therefore let the ruler lead the people,And let life go where it may.If it is not acclaimed a leader's task,Let the people know that they are not without Tao;And trust will again be founded.

When Nothingness is exhausted, it forms forms. When the form is exhausted, it is employed.
Employments (of things and things' disuse) are what serve as the Tao. The empty is the seat of the origin of the universe.
Heaven and Earth were born from nothingness; This he named the Mother of Heaven and Earth.
Heaven and Earth were born from Being; This he named the Mother of Being.
Heaven and Earth existed before they became something; This he named the Mother of Being.
Heaven and Earth are what they are because of something else. He who is the Mother of something is the root of what is.

The actions of Yin and Yang bring about change.
The 10000 things around us are held together by the Laws of the Laws,
And in their very being, they flow back to the source.
What happens when we cease seeking fulfillment in ourselves?
We are, in short, an exemplar of nothingness.
We are trapped.
On a journey to nowhere, everything is familiar.
With everything centered on ourselves, we feel as if we were a jade at the center of the universe.
Because we have nothing to lose, nothing to gain, we are endlessly curious.
When an entity, like you or me, comes and goes, we don't need to linger.
We simply follow our own inherent rhythms.

Yield and return, you will avoid danger.
The forces of Nature bring about change in the world.
The 10000 things are tied to the earth's natural laws;
Therefore they change and become different in importance.
Yin and Yang, one and the same, bring about change.
As the 10000 things depend on the earth, we also depend on the earth.
We can see the beauty in nature, yet are unaware of its beauty.
This does not make us incomplete, as we can change without possession.
We see beauty in what is material, yet without possession.
Only these two [beauty and ignorance] are infinite.

And though the Tao is all-under-heavenly,
it can only serve the Infinite One.
The Laws of the Tao are everlasting.

As each species is born and dies,
as each division of time takes place,
the Laws of the Infinite all-in-all remain.
But what is most important,
The Tao, is what is happening.
What the Tao is doing is doing it right.

All beings arise from nonbeing.
Therefore, All things come to reality because of Reality.
Therefore, All non–creativities arise from Reality.
Therefore, All non–creativities are manifestations of Reality.
Therefore, Non–creativity is the Base of All Things.
Therefore, When a Master acts with Integrity, All That Is Inert Is as their Base.
When a follower of Virtue acts with Integrity, All Things Inert Is as their Base.
When a follower of Virtue acts with Integrity, All Things Good Is as their Base.
The more Integrity a Master has, the more All Things will achieve their fulfillment.
The more Wayfulness a Master has, the more All Things will achieve their fulfillment.
Therefore, When a Master's integrity shines, All things bright in him are illuminated; When a disciple's integrity shines, All things bright in him are illuminated; When a servant's integrity shines, All things bright in him are illuminated; When a duty's integrity shines, All things bright in him is bright.
Those bright in the Master are illumined by the genuine Light of the Base;
Those bright in the servant are illumined by the radiantness of the Core; Those bright in Duty are illumined by the capacity of the Heart; Those bright in Duty are illuminated by the sincerity of loyalty.
Everyone needs to experience this.
Those who live in integrity need not worry about what others think of them, and so can do business with others without being directly scrutinized.
Those who have learned to trust others have nothing to worry about from others, and so can trust themselves without needing to prove who they are.
People of strong virtue are most tolerant, and so are open to helping others; those who are most tolerant, in all situations, are most responsive to their role in helping others; those who are most responsive, in all situations, are most open and responsive to others; those who are most open and responsive to others, for so the very best are the most sincere and most responsive; and in loyalty and good faith, all are knowledgeable and intelligent.
This is why leaders can be good people without being too fair or too exact, and so can lead the people to experience things all by themselves.

-Bow to the valleys and straighten the earth.
-Bow to the earth and straighten the world.
-Return to nature and straighten the world.
The whole creation is cyclical;
We pass through the valley,

Thus: the Heaven bends, the Earth straightens,
and the people follow the Earth.
The Earth is the valley's source;
Therefore: the people bow to the Earth.
Hold to the Heaven,
and the Earth straightens;
and the people learn the Earth.
The Earth is the valley's source;
Therefore the people embrace it and honor it.
When the valley is bowed to the Earth,
Earth gives rise to the Earth.
When the earth is the valley's source,
The people join with it,
and honor it.
When the valley is the Earth,
The Earth holds the Earth.
Therefore: the Earth honors and nourishes the Earth.
Hold to the valley and the Earth;
And the earth will nurture you.
Hold to heaven, and the heavens will hold you.
Receive the earth as a mother and nurture it.
Nurture the earth by serving the earth.
In this way the earth becomes the mother of the world.
When the earth is shaped by the valley,
The valley shapes the earth.
When the earth is shaped by heaven,
The heaven shapes the heaven.
So: It becomes heaven the mother of the world.
This is the secret of the mysteries.
The wise may hold to the valley and to the earth

Expend a great effort, and you will lose a little time; This is called mastering the stillness. Overworking oneself, one becomes a real being. All things arise and proceed from being. Non–being proceeds and emerges from being.
Things emerge and proceed from non–being. Non–being proceeds and emerges from being.
Therefore:
It is from non–being that the people of ancient times have held all the peaks.
It is from the origin of all being that they have developed from the lowest.
Thus the Tao has its root in the humanity.
Humanity has its roots in the Tao.
Tao has its root in the humanity.
Tao has its root in the humanity.
It is because the humanity arises that the way and the actions become one.
Therefore, when one rejects the one and adopts the other,
without embracing either the one or the other,
one can be at one with the Tao, and at one with the humanity,
without opposing either.

While yielding is the basis of virtue, things which flourish spontaneously are useful. While yielding is the foundation of action, action has a purpose. Things which flourish spontaneously are useful and act without expectation of reward. Things which flourish spontaneously are useful, but are always yet not ready. Without the possession of desires, desire and expectation will never arise.
Therefore: As the Tao is born of humanity, it is born of the Tao. Without desire, existence is forced upon creation, yet Creation constantly operates. It has no desire, yet desire cannot be pushed.
<|endoftext|>
When 'tightness' is stressed, things arise spontaneously. When 'looseness' is emphasized, things spring into life. When 'knowledge' is emphasized, people arise spontaneously. When 'audacity' is emphasized, people arise in art. When 'feeling' is emphasized, people arise in the Tao. Without wanting to be filled, I am free. Without wanting to be carried away, I am whole. Hence the nature of the Tao is: to fill; to fly; to be reborn. Is it not this: Not wanting to be filled, desire will not arise? Because being is what sets the individual apart from others, so the self emerges with fulfillment.

"I may look far away, and yet I cannot see you"
"From afar, I can see the pattern, but cannot see you"
Thus, to the one who understands, "Things are on the rise, and yet I am not one with them"
And to the one who follows the Tao,
"Things may grow and flourish, yet I am not one with them"
"All things come out, and I see nothing, so how can I know them to be so?"
What we see is transient, but the Way is always present in the world of things.

Tao is profound and deep.
Because it is so profound, I can't describe its every intricacy.
It's not clear at all.
For me, it's so bright that I can't see the background.
If you look far, you cannot see the fullness.
Its depth is so great that I am unsure where to begin.
Where the Tao ends is so dark that I cannot see the beginning.
I see its depth inside everything.
But, it's the depth that matters the most.

The cosmos and the Laws of nature make a person's work. By harmonizing the forces of nature, one's intuitive perception becomes strong, and one's actions thus become spontaneous and kind.
The Laws of nature make a person's work. By harmonizing the forces of nature, one's intuitive perception becomes strong, and one's actions thus become spontaneous and kind.
The Tao in the universe is not before your eyes.
It is everywhere, yet you cannot see it; therefore, it is neither seen nor unseen.
By seeing the reality of the universe, you can clearly understand its cause, its effects, and its function.
Knowing the causes of things makes you free from attachment to any thing. The Tao in the universe is in every corner of the world.
Because it is so different in appearance from other things, it can be distinguished from nothing.
Because it is unique in the universe, it may be the source of all change.
<|endoftext|>
The cosmos and the Laws of nature form the guide to Tao. Only through constancy and boundlessness can a person be able to deal with all things at all times.

Before Te is Te.
After it is Non-Non.
In virtue and non-virtue.
The Valley of Tao is unbroken.
The creation of the heaven and the ten thousand things are born from Non-being.
So there is Non-being at the source of all of creation.
The valley of the Tao is endless.
The production of the universe is achieved through non-being.
From the beginning of the universe it is not non-being.
Therefore: it is non-being that leads the universe to the origin.
<|endoftext|>
There is Te,
There is Te-Non-Te.
There is the Tao Te,
The Tao-Non-Tao.
In the universe
There is Heaven
And all things return to non-being.
Non-being is the root of Heaven and Earth.
Tao is the eternal spirit of the Universe.
Desires of the universe are from Tao.
The first-fruits of Tao are hidden, Non-delicious.
<|endoftext|>
There is Te,
There is Te-Non.
There is the Tao in being
The thing in being.
The Valley of Te-Non-being
Exceeds the valley of the Tao
The creation of the Tao comes from not-Being.
The Tao is the emptiness in being
Between Heaven and Earth.
Tao pervades the world,
And the things exist, but without the Way in them.
From the beginning, the Tao
Has a son, In the life, it gives birth,
But it is non-existent,
It gives life to the World.
<|endoftext|>
According to Te, there is Tao. According to Te-Non-Tao, there is Te.
The Dao forms everything that exists. Everything that exists produces something, but it cannot be known. It is the source of heaven and earth.
Te cannot be defined; therefore it is called "the Mysterious"
It is great and infinite. It is everywhere. It cannot be seen or described; therefore it is called "the Ineffable"
It continues forever.
Only by "non-duality" can Tao be told.
<|endoftext|>
To be on Te is Te; to be on Te is Non-Te.

It is as if the speech of Heaven and Earth is inadequate; Therefore, this way is employed. All creatures are born, And are born without the existence of separation.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and Earth stand on the heel of the world; The world stands on the heel of heavenAnd heaven and earth stand on their self-established mission.
<|endoftext|>
The world is a dwelling place of the universe, The universe is a dwelling place of the world.
<|endoftext|>
The way of heaven and earth is like drawing a bow on a bow-legged human.
<|endoftext|>
The Way of Heaven and Earth (the mother of Heaven and Earth) is like a bow.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and Earth are all born, but it is heaven and earth that come.
<|endoftext|>
In the universe of substance:
the mother body holds the natal body (the self).
<|endoftext|>
The way of the universe:
Though it may have a name, it is the mother of the universe.
<|endoftext|>
The way of heaven and earth is like an ax drawn in the mud.
There is a mother earth and a father heaven.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth follow one another,
But the world remains without a mother.
<|endoftext|>
The way of heaven and earth is like the origin of life on earth.
I do not know what the mother is;
and the pliant is like drawing the bow.
But heaven and earth have produced life on earth.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven, earth and sea rule together, But the Tao here within the universe is like a bow.
Is there a higher authority within the universe?
<|endoftext|>
"Heaven and earth are the mother of the universe."
What does it mean by "mother"? Is it because these are four things which have parental families? (Tao is the Way, the Principle of the universe, and the Mother of all things).

The Way of Heaven and Earth is like drawing a bow (on a bow)

Eliminate the measure, and the world will then be expressed. Being arises out of nonbeing, Without nonbeing, Being arises out of being.
<|endoftext|>
Be eliminated and abandon the understanding, and the world will yield. TAO involves Non-display, tao involves Non-search. The ten-thousand-seventy-seventies-cannot be enumerated-inestimates their number out of this non-display.
<|endoftext|>
The measure is the beginning of the world.
Nonbeing begins the world.
"Being" begins the world.
The many can be categorized according to their name- The classify them as non-existent, non-existing, non-existing, Non-existing.
<|endoftext|>
The King,The great observer of the World.WhenAll was in its infancy,He heard of Non-being, and also of Being. He then foundBeing.Beings were born of Non-being,Being was born of Being. The Profundities of the World, the Profundities of all of them were produced by Non-being, being,What is Profound, Profound and Profound, continue even in the opposite of Nature.
<|endoftext|>
What is desireless and yielding is the Beginning of the Universe;Being is the Mother of the World.Hence it is said: "He that knows the origin of Heaven and Earth, knows the Mother of the World."Beside the name of Heaven and Earth, there is no name that is not the mother of Heaven and Earth. And that which cannot be named, is called the Mother.
<|endoftext|>
Disgrace is the beginning of the world.Being is the mother of the world.
This is why the Sage says: "Things at one end become white and sweet, at the other become black and muddy; the earth at one end becomes fruitful and fruitful, at the other end becomes dead and lifeless."
<|endoftext|>
The conquest of desire is the beginning of the world.Heaven and earth arise from desirelessness and fullness. Therefore: "The Dao produces one thing, the world produces another, they both bear the name of uncaused."

The world is born from desirelessness. The Tao world

He who is the rule of ten thousand people, Does not forget the presence of the world. Being the presence of the world, He does not forget the presence of the world. The Way that is the name of the world Can not be spoken of. The Tao that is the name of the world Can not be known. The ten thousand things manifest And the living things manifest And the heaven and the earth and the ten thousand things manifest And that there are none That manifest There are none. The way of the way and the wayless are each other; Heaven and Earth and the ten thousand things are born of the Way And yet none know the way of the Way, Nor can the Heaven and Earth and the ten thousand things know the Way. Although they may act in obedience to the law of nature And be submissive, the law of nature Will no longer act and thus the heaven and the earth And the ten thousand things Ever do what nature may not do. Although they act in obedience to the law of nature And be satisfied, the law of nature Cannot be satisfied, And indeed the ten thousand things Act without knowledge And so the laws of nature Work their way Through the laws of the way themselves.
<|endoftext|>
The leader of the hundredth generation does not acknowledge the existence of the ten-thousand, therefore he does not commit his action to the world of existence.
That is why being the existence of the ten-thousand leads not to the acknowledgment of the existence of the ten-thousand, nor to the acting of the action in the world of existence.
The Tao does not belong to any of these ten thousand things; they act without the teacher's knowledge. The things of the world of existence act, they are aware of themselves and act but not on the teacher's role.
And the Tao does not serve the teacher's role. Tao does not serve the world of existence, and these things behave without the teacher's role.
All are made by Tao, and it is by Tao that they live, even if they do not know of Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The highest ruler of ten thousand beings
does not compete with the world
because he does not distinguish
between being and non-being.
This is why, when faced with the world of existence,
he does not pretend to recognize
being.
The supreme form of the world
follows no rules or regulations
and so could not

They breathe and move and make utensils for life but cannot make them grow in their own names. They have names for them, like boughs, leaves, and flower petals, but cannot say they are flowers. They can say they are valleys and streams and torrential seas. They can say they are rugged peaks, but cannot brag of their height.
Just because they cannot brag of their height, is a barometer of their inexhaustibility.
Heaven and earth were born, the world was born out of them; the birth of the world is the formless and void. Without this formless and void void is the form of the creation.
The Great Tao - the Great - is beyond description. It can be done, but not by a thought, by simplicity, without being overly formal. It is a process that is slow, because it is inexhaustible. The universe was created from nothingness, and nothingness became all there is, then began to evolve.
The beginning is the ultimate, and the ultimate is the origin. The origin is great and the greatest, it is a thing that can't be described or calculated.
Nature is forever growing. So, as the earth grows, the human race grows, and in time, too, Nature bears them. They are nurtured, they are found, and they find them again. This is Nature's way, and it can be done, if you are aware of it. The great Tao is formless and infinite. Tao is not describable, it can be experienced,
and within it lies the source of all substance and existence.
The Great Tao is universal.
It can be used, but not by thinking. It is easy to understand, but hard to use.
It exists everywhere, inside and out.
It is limitless, and nothing is bound by it.
We use something and understand what we've done; the past must be understood.
The heavens and the earth existed and then the universe grew.
The earth exists and then the universe grew.
If the universe grows and changes to infinite complexity, then it must begin by the infinite and it is only by knowing how things work that we can take ownership of them.
The great Tao is Tao.

The world does not know its own existence and wants to be the world; the world and birth-creating are both born from non-being.
How can the method of a Taoist be confused? Therefore there is Truth in Tao, and Truth in Non-Tao.
The Primordial Nature was silent and without form;
Was it at rest and didn't stir?
In this state of non-existence do all the things of Nature come into existence.
To exist implies creation, to be, implies non-existence.
To be and to not be are mutually dependent,
Dimly understood but very different from each other.
Hence both originate from the same source.
For both are in the Tao, And thus fit to be examined;
Both are refined and mature, And fit to be matured.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is hidden, like a maiden secreted in the brooks.
Quiet, at first, like the spring.
Firm, at first, like stone.
Progenetic, at first, like female and male.
Hence
2 Yes and nay:
2 Yes and a male
2 Yes and a female
2 Yes and an affirmative
2 Yes and an affirmative (similar)
Nature is like to be:
Quiet yet motionless,
Yielding and returning to no-place,
Nameless, yet not forgotten,
Heaven to earth to live,
And earth to be.
Things live, in order to become,
And Heaven to care for,
The two functions to examine.
Between these two, one as an example:
2 Yes and nay: Yes and no: Yes and no: Yes and yes.
This is the prototype of both.
2 Yielding and returning to no-place,
Nameless, yet not forgotten:
Heaven to earth to live,
And earth to care for:
Two functions to be analyzed.
Between them one as an example:
2 Yes and nay: Yes and no: Yes and yes.
This is the prototype of both.
2 The movement of Tao is to be loosened
to give way;
The method of Tao is to be formed.
The primordial te in the Yang is very hidden.
Quiet, like a fallow field.
Grasping, like a husk of wood.
Hardening, like a rock.

======================================== SAMPLE 8 ========================================
The non-being is all-under-heaven's mother.
The mother is not without substance.
Having substance, we are capable of understanding and controlling the world.
Even though we are born without being, we know how to act as if we were born.
That's why:
"That which comes out of Nothingness Will be for us the mother of all things."
<|endoftext|>
The great way is its own way.
One can go through it and not see it.
One can retreat through it and not see the ravine.
One can speak of it but cannot be heard.
One can hold it but cannot take hold.
There is nothing in heaven and earth that cannot be made firm by the One.
It is constantly acting as mother to all things.
If you cannot hold on to the One, you are on the verge of becoming ill.
If you do not hold on to this tendency of the Way, you can become as one with it.
You can follow the Way, but without effort.
There is no other Way.
<|endoftext|>
The great Way, which is Tao, is not clear to see.
It is the Great Way only known to the intelligent.
It is rooted in Infinity.
Infinity is undivided,
Infinity is perfect.
Unbeholdable.
Inward.
Inward.
The presence of the inward is an indication of the action of the deep.
The depth knows the action of the inward.
The being that is unbeholdable cannot enter into Infinity.
The seer who cannot open his eyes, cannot see.
And the one who cannot open his mouth, cannot receive.

The great spokes of the great wheel never break; they are ever stable.
Beyond such spokes is no corner: neither is the cart upon which they stand; nor the road that descends upon them; no such road ever comes near.
That which is always present does not assert itself; it is moved by everything else.
That which is always present has no shape. It is motionless; it is distant.
It is immanent; it is transient.
There is nothing like it in the universe.
<|endoftext|>
By the Great Cyclic Way are applied the names of All-diffused

The old and new come from each other, Non-being comes from Being. The old and new are born of the same mother, The same mother is the origin of the new.
He who knows the great Mystery is profound, Yet has the ability to be humble. He can become one with things; He can be one with the cosmos.
He can be one with the whole creation,
Or he can learn to be weak and rely on himself.
He can be just one thing, And then be fulfilled.

Recognize the Way as "the Way" and you are set free from loss. Realize the Way as the image, you will find rest. It is the eternal Way. To lose desire or hold on to delusions will not be part of the Way.The Way holds the human heart and entranced sense. The Way is a harmonious force and the voice of nature. The Way is beyond mystery, and the way of the Dao is the Way.
<|endoftext|>
Never be prepared for the Way;Those who make it their world lose sight of what it is that they are. Those who grasp at it are lost of all that they have; Those who hold on to it are lost of their own accord.Only one of these two attitudes can keep a man free. The world will smile upon one who doesn't contend; The world will smile upon him who does not contend.
<|endoftext|>
Know the Way as you will;Do not assert.Be as you were before:Do not try to change.Stop thinking of the self as what it is or isn't.Becoming alone with your essence doesn't mean you're depressed.People want you to appear different from them.So if you're trying to separate yourself from people you'll lose sight of who you really are.People like appearances so much they're willing to stand in front of a wall of light. They wear eye make-up and embrace a world of symbols. It's fine to admire the artist;it's fine to enjoy the show. It's fine to admire the leader;it's fine to enjoy the praise. It's fine to admire the technique;it's fine to enjoy being remembered. The Self isn't something you notice;Your life is filled with moments of wonder.

When life is the way, then It is non-life. When non-life is the way, Then it is the Way.
Therefore, the world is an embryo of the Way; And the way of the Way is threadbare.
The name of the world is an image of the Way; And the way of the Way is light.
In the world the people are born, But the Way is light.
And because the Way is light, It is the way of all things.
The myriad creatures have their bodies And the way It brings them forth.
If only the Way were light And the world were a pliant thing It would be no way At all.
Such a thing is called a false birth - A material form to which all things return.
And this is what we say: When the name is found In the world, It is said to be one of the ten thousand things.
And when the ten thousand things are called by the name It may be said to be one of the things that come and go From the name is called the myriad things
The universe is the image of the Tao; The Tao is the image of the root And the root is the image of the Universe.
<|endoftext|>
The Way travels through all directions without obstructing the way.
Why do all things move about? Because all things move about because there is nothing.
Because all things move about, All Things are bound to follow their own paths.
Why is that? Because the Way brings motion.
Why isn't it? Because this Is called "the vacancy" - an illusion.
Why do we use the word "All things"? Because this is the Way itself.
Why do we use the word "the Way"? Because it is a name.
Why do we use the word "the Way"? Because it is the way.
Why do we use the word "the Universe"? Because it is material.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao travels all-spurting;
There it does not obstruct the way,
Hence all things spring from it.
Why do all things spring from it?
Because it has no attachment.
Why then do we make it the image of the world?
Because this is called "orphan" -
It should not be regarded as an essential body.
Why should we regard it as an essential body?
Because this is called "the form," which means
