Tao benefits all beings, but benefits nothing
Goodness lasts long but endures.
Hence it is said,
The highest quality is those that are pleasant, and the lowest is that which lasts long.
For that reason,
it is said that the finest virtue comes from the good, and the worst from the ugly.
So is true the value of seeing what is as it is and not seeing what can be.
Knowing what is long, it is said, and not being enlightened.
Understanding what is short, it is said, and not being sincere.
The passing away of even the greatest virtue means that it is that which is new.
Therefore, how:
All goodness is nurturance,
All goodness lasts long
All goodness is great
All goodness is arrogant
All goodness is perfunctory
All goodness is hidden
All goodness is delusion
Therefore all life is fleeting
What happens to the most lasting virtue is its tenderness.
What happens to the greatest goodness is its short life.
What happens to the perfunctory goodness is its long life.
This is called the ten thousand ways.
The wise know when and where to take action, but not when and where to do nothing.
Knowing when to act, we do not allow ourselves to get lost in the moment. Knowing when to remain, we live in the here and now. Knowing when to roll, we live in the future.
The Sage is one who always takes action, but never has to act.
He makes it so that when he has done something, there will be nothing that he hasn't done. When he has done something, he needsn't do anything else.
Therefore, he knows when to stop and when to begin again. He knows when to forget and when to begin again. This is called having longevity, longevity which is rooted in the Way.
It is because he endures that he has longevity.
The Tao, the Way, is eternal and everlasting.
<|endoftext|>
Wisdom is natural, but it is never artificial.
Not artificial, but it is always there.
It is hidden, yet always there.
Through one's actions, everything begins,
But one can't take action and still keep things from coming to the end of their usefulness.
You can do something, but at the end of it you will do nothing.
That is the key to success.
When you realize you're

The Sage may seem so wise, yet he is not wise.
As if he were ignorant.
Most virtuous people are clever, but we, the simple folk, are stupid.
He who doesn't have desires is rich;
one who conquers is strong;
one who knows he has the right way is clear.
Those who have lived for a long time have nothing to fear.
Therefore they cannot be injured.
And one who has been to the ultimate goal will not die.
<|endoftext|>
The sage appears as a humble fellow - but he is not humble.
He is self-possessed, yet he is self-sufficient;
- he walks without trying to attract;
- he loves the small,
- he is without ambition.
I don't see how his status is inferior.
He is not born, yet he bears life.
To love the small and hold fast to the grand,
this is a foreshadow of heaven's reward.
This is the destiny of the living and the dead.
<|endoftext|>
The Sage seems 'sophisticated', and is he does not appear like he is 'sophisticated'.
I believe the enlightened ones are not intelligent;
We believe those who are 'cognizant',
But they cannot distinguish themselves as 'cognizant'.
The Wise Person sees clearly, and I believe they do not see anything.
They see, but they do not see; they recognise and there is nothing to recognise.
They distinguish themselves but do not separate their self.
The wise person has a life that is much shorter than it would normally be;
Then he is contented with having only the least possessions.
I do not understand why people have to live so long.
I do not think it is good that they have to die so young.
<|endoftext|>
The supreme intellect, one who has no apparent intellect,
is we see, yet has no discernment.
The Wise Person, I believe, has no apparent wisdom.
The unworthy are plain-spoken and straight-talking,
the unchanging, yet has no unchanging.

is content.

Abandon the living, avoid the dead. These two are considered one, and the universe seems to have created them together. When they meet, they create. When one is victorious, the other wins. When one loses, the other wins. When one smiles, the other grins. When one is not good, the other is good. When one is different, the other differs. When one takes its place, the other takes it.When you fail, the other succeeds.

Abandon the living! - Avoid the dead. Two opposites - one and the same, from without in time they arise together.Whilst one is in possession,The other is not. When one is victorious,The other is defeated.Whilst one is in adoration,The other is not. When one praises the one,The other is not. When one has a deficit,The other has a surplus. And so,One is defeated and the other thrives.

What you fear when you are old is one and the same.
It is Infinity: you in your sire,
you in your daugher,
the same as before.
When they meet,
each of them wins.
When they meet once more,
each of them loses.
The achievement of Infinity is to maintain unity;
the loss is to maintain the same unity.
If Infinity were to go away,
you could bring again the sixlessed aspect.
If you were to lose the sixlessed aspect,
you could bring again the universal aspect.
If you were to have to gain, you could bring again the totality.
So, to be strong, one needs not fear dying.
To be blessed, one needs not to be blessed.
To be good, one needs not to be good.
To be different, one needs not to be different.
To be old, one needs not to be old.

While one continues to live

Whoever will lose their place will never stay.

Therefore be at peace

Because of desire,
Become restless and agitated.
Then I experience the senses,

Even though all of creation is agitated,
The form remains calm.
Know thyself and not be restless.
To truly enjoy one's nature,

The Way in matters of the body is lost, so all things follow it.
<|endoftext|>
It is said that the Way is, in Nature, the father of the ten-thousand subtle subtleties. So Tao, the One that holds the whole Universe in its arms, becomes one of the female nature of the world. A mother of the ten thousand subtle subtleties, the Tao is the most profound of the myriad subtleties. But the female nature is the source of all subtleties, so all subtle subtleties flow out of Tao. Therefore, when enlightened people start to go beyond themselves, Tao is the valley of their decline.
When agitated people start to compete, Tao is the valley of their victory. When a person goes astray, Tao, their hidden self, is the true root from which all springs and sustains all things.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the parent of the ten thousand subtle arts; the Tao, as the mother of the myriad subtle arts, the Master of the ten thousand subtle arts. If a person is already enlightened, Tao will become as soon as one is enlightened. If he is agitated, Tao will become as soon as one is agitated. But if one is not fully aware of his divinity, Tao will become the beginning of all Divine Music. If one abandons Tao, he will not be able to attain the ultimate harmony of the subtle arts; and if he renounces his divinity, his soul will be separated from him forever.
<|endoftext|>
The highest states of being, the quality of the Tao (the Way), is nurtured by all things. All things have in their primal mind the Tao. All things have in their mind the tao.
The TAO is the mother of all creatures. As the mother it is the source of the myriad essences. It is also the foundation of all substances. Without giving order to anything, All Things proceed in order of themselves. The TAO is the abode of all essences. Without giving order to anything, All Things proceed in order of themselves.
<|endoftext|>
The highest spirituality of Tao is that which nurtures all things. All things are influenced by the nature of Tao in the way they have a physical body. The nature of Tao (the Way) is hidden.
Tao is the Mother of All Things, even when man is not aware

He who knows, knows what others do not know.
And if the others cannot know, one can never know the truth.

How could I possibly know the unnamed ?

The sage knows everything.
He sees everything.
He can understand everything.
Everyone else has flaws.
He has sharp edges.
Everybody else tries to be perfect.
He's alone.
He's not right.
He doesn't know when to stop.
He knows others will give up.
They will have purpose.
But the sage doesn't quit.
He keeps on, like nothing has happened.

It is said that the greatest sage attained perfection in the following way:
He came to know everything.
He came to see everything.
He came to understand everything.
He came to understand everything.
He came to dominate everything.
He came to attain perfection.
All of life fell away.
Life had no purpose.
The Sage's purpose was fulfilled.
The life-giving power is unceasing.
The sage is immortal.
Everyone follows him.
Even his death has no death.

To him is attached the student's perseverance.
To him the reason of the latter is attached the student's ability.
To him is attached the student's contentment.
To him is attached the student's grace.
To him the student's perspicacity is attached the student's endurance.
Then, the existence of all is not realised.
There exists still death.
It continues without end.
It endures without interruption.
It is known of all antiquity.

The master of the people has no idea of his own excellence. When a leader leaves his mark, everyone says he is amazing. The master of the people has no idea of his power. When a leader is defeated, everyone praises him. The master of the people knows where his place is. The master of the people does not value their power. When power is wanting, all will say he is worthless.

A wise person always knows the plain truth,
And will never try to complicate or fool others.
A clever person knows how to reveal things,
But is not interested in the outcome.
A master manipulates, and even the world is amused.
A person who lives simply is yet lacking in ability,
And, as a result, the people ridicule him.
However, he is content to be alone, because he has the people's trust.
Therefore, the sage has no desires for fame and profit,
For such pursuits, he would rather treasure with life.

Those that are guided by the Great are simple and intuitive,
But have no desires to develop in any way.
Those who are clever are clever, but only in the illusion of being clever,

Those who are powerful always will,
And so they do not stop when they are defeated.
They let their deeds flow, and their potentialness is so profound that even their enemies will not be able to figure them out.
Those who learn contentment and enjoy contentment,
And so survive.

A leader who could do without regards the gravity of what he does.
A man who has made himself master is someone who knows how to be hard and strong, yet does not regard himself as hard and strong.

Understanding others is knowing one's own inferiority. The sense of inferiority is the root of this knowledge.¹It is a key to the Way.³Therefore the Sage does not argue, but dwells in the inner world. When others are enough, he honours them; when he is not enough, he leans on himself. He is content to be without desires; content to be without desirefulness. He is not contentious; he has no pride. He is calm and peaceful. He does not act but is active. He does not force, yet his actions will last. He is without discord; his conduct has power. He can endure forever.

Those with perfect intuitive knowledge are exacting,
Perfect to make sure others are fair and right.
Those with perfect clarity are noble and experienced.
Those with perfect determination are strong and powerful.
Those with perfect concentration can never be depleted.
Perfect knowledge is the reason for perfect discipline.
When others turn bad,
Disciplining leads to good.
When others are not good,
Hardening leads to strength.
When others are not strong,
Hardening leads to determination.
When others do not define,
Creating contradiction ensues.
Therefore the Sage always does good without doing anything,
And teaches without words.
Everyone can be turned around but doesn't need to.
Everyone can be strong but doesn't need to be.
Everyone can be filled to the brim but doesn't need to be filled.
Everyone can change direction but doesn't need to.

Tao within them is, in its perfect simplicity, beyond prejudice,
Tao within them is the source of infinite wonders,
the gateway to Tao is, in its perfect simplicity, the source of Infinity.

Where the Tao is the mother of all,
The sea seems to be her womb.

======================================== SAMPLE 6 ========================================
The Tao flows freely.
One who wants to control the world can only trust people in their innermost self.
One who wants to control the world can only help people look inward.
Whoever wants to control the world can only help people use their inner strengths.
Whoever wants to control the world can only help people be decisive.
Whoever wants to control the world can only help people be successful.
All that exists in the world is created by Nature.
And nothing is more beautiful than that which no one wants to be.
Welcome back to the Oneness.
The creative unfolds
And what begins is subtle.
One who watches the whole world is a part of the whole.
One who seeks to keep to the whole world is a part of the whole.
The senses must be sensed to feel them all together.
The knowing must be asked to be obtained.
Leaders must become followers.
Winners must become the bearers.
Tao is eternal and timeless.
Always come back.
To know the source is the beginning of wisdom.
To see the depths is the beginning of insight.
To act with force is the beginning of self-exertion.
To achieve with passion is the beginning of lack.
But do not be in the place where you are not needed.
Then you can thrive for long and be useful.
Poured over, it hardly becomes apparent.
To maintain it, to give it a name,
We call it the Way.
<|endoftext|>
To understand an observer is to be a follower of Inner Being. To be a follower of Inner Being is to be intimate with the outer world. To be intimate with the outer world is to be aware of the inner. To be aware of the inner is to be alert. To act in accordance with desire is to be powerful. Those with power become powerful leaders, but soon they are remembered as slow, weak, and even villainous. Indeed, "As soon as a leader is forgotten he becomes leaderless." Where do I come from, to turn back time?

To recognize a superior is to accept that you are in a circle of superior abilities and traits.
To accept that you are in a circle of superior abilities and traits is to possess Inner Life.
To possess Inner Life is to be responsive to Inner Life.
To be responsive to Inner Life is to be aware of inner life.

Good looks are good, but the heart is good as well.
In general, a person of penetrating character has an intuitive ability.
People who keep themselves in the background are still occupied with self-interest.
One who gives himself up to others is no less devoted.
Those who focus only on oneself become hollow and complacent.
Those who are attached to others have purpose;
Those who don't respond have a purposelessness.
The mind that tries to master and understand the world will not last long.
It is like the stone that is covered with dust.
The sky that has no day and no night.
The king that loses the name as long as he is supreme.
He is lord of the realm, but he does not live forever.
<|endoftext|>
The ten [i.e., good] are found in appearance, but the heart is found in substance.
This is why he who values sincerity can be found in sincerity.
Those who show themselves alone are alone in being.
Those who don't realize themselves are alone in not recognizing them.
He who is attached to others has a merit, but one who is detached is inadequate.
Those who reach their goal are as happy as those who remain where they are,
and as strong as those who have more strength,
while those who blow their own horns will not last.
In case you think that you are good, think that you are true; but the wise does not think that he is good, nor does he think that he is true.
This is because he has not been worthy of being good, nor is he worthy of being true.
<|endoftext|>
The virtues are good looks and are only partial to their superficial function.
The heart is good at finding its root.
Those who use themselves as the source of others become confused,
and by not able to be the source of others become true.
People who gain from others are not true, and are not able to gain from others.
Those who develop the desire to possess the people will not gain from the people,
and without ability to possess the people will have no possession.
Those who live for eternity will come into being through the ever-present.
The brightness will never go out through the partial function of the senses.

The old way has no methods,And will not be abandoned. To use the three things as a whole,The THOU, I, and DAIM are small. To use THOU as an instrument,The DAIM is great. If the DAIM is great, the toolsCan never work,Unless the DAIM also be great. With a great DAIM,The tools are usefulBut also inexpressibly confused.By the same THOU,I am confused. The greater the THOU, the less THOUThere are not enough THOUs in the universe. The general's total disregard for the simple truthof this worldIs not wise. The wise woman looks without clevernessAnd separates a man without discord,She leaves him without an empty house,And forgets the gold and jewels of a manBut always leaves the mouth and the heart untouched. One who has a strong will will not pass away,And will live until the end of his days.
Tao (Reason) may be described as: infinite (loud and clear), rigid (difficult to get rid of), yielding (bold), clear (everything is there), and flexible (reflexively perfect). Tasks can be roughly divided into three, but to rely on one method is inadequate. To use the tools, you need first a weak one (to lead others). To have a vital self, you need first a radiant one (to fill the house). To work fast, you need first a fast one (to do work). To use the substance, you need first a very small substance (to work on, so you have it prepared). The size of the body makes the organization unworkable. Yet the tools and the substance are inadequate (they only work). To discard them means to lose them (to die early). Without naming it, the Tao (True Law) is universal. It works universally.

If there is a good old Way, then it can be named:
It is the lighthearted (loud and clear). It is the long-lasting (lasting and going on),
It is the thick-walled (very thick),
It is the perceptive (perceptual),
And it is the conscious (conscious).
If this is the lighthearted Way,
How can one concentrate on anything?
If you do something and discard it, how can you concentrate on something?

There are people who see others' needs as if they are only minor concerns. For example, those who value peace, security, and prosperity. The ruler who is able to enjoy all the pleasures of life, but because of them needs to be at peace. People who value beauty and wealth. The reason the rulers care for them. While their prosperity does not prevent them from taking other actions.
Those who become rich become frivolous. The ruler who is wealthy becomes ruthless. The contentment of the ruler provides a good foundation for ruthless action. The pleasure of money helps to pay for things. A wealthy person's wealth can bring them undue tension with others. If they are truly content then they do not find fault with others.
When someone is rich then they appear to be rich. When someone has enough then they appear to be having a lot. If money and wealth were not valuable then everyone would see them as worthless.
By being rich a person creates profit for himself or herself. When someone is in a position of power a position is given to them. When someone is rich then he or she will get stuff. If someone is powerful then he or she is grabbed by someone. When someone is wealthy then they may gain something. When someone has money then they can feel safe. When someone is rich and rich then they feel secure.
It is only the wealthy that end up feeling inadequate. The true good is found in the humble, the rich, and the powerful.

Those who see others as little things, have some worth as being just because they are insignificant. (...)
Those who see themselves as little, understand well how low the quality of oneself is.
A person who sees himself as insignificant does not know how little he is.
If he who is good and powerful, has access to treasures that he cannot beget by simple accumulation, then he, too, will go on accumulating.
But the person who sees himself as small, will not consider that his condition is so worthless that it must be taken gladly.
When one comes in contact with the light, one sees that there are others who have the same condition as himself.
When one knows one's self, one is aware of his essential unity.

[To be able to enter into harmony with the Tao],One has to be able to
-To describe nature or the nature of the Tao
-To know how to act with the Tao.
-To be able to do what is right with the Tao.
-To accept the Tao as the only objective reality.
This is called the "heart" of Tao.
It is found in the collective mind.
Since it is in the collective mind,
It is extremely valuable.
It is always available.
Because of its ability to accept the universal nature,
It never ceases to act.
It has little fear of failure.
Because of the ability to practice personal realization,
It never fails to shine.
Because it does not dwell in self-importance,
It has a long life.

The way of Heaven and Earth becomes the Way of all things.
All things naturally become part of it.
Their nature is a pattern for how they should live.
I will talk to all the people about the Way of Heaven and Earth.
All people will know it as the Way of Heaven and Earth.
They will believe that their own lives are important as well.
They will be able to have the strength to use it.
I have less to have, I also have more to lose.
I don't lose to become selfish,
and I am therefore in harmony with Heaven and Earth.

Heaven and Earth do not profit, he says,
all things come to pass;
All creatures arise out of their natural state.
Heaven alone knows how to guide
All things come to pass;
he only rules by which he rules.
He only knows how to exist for his self;
he grasps to be everything
he sees.
He knows that he is a partial man,
that he can accomplish much in this life.
When he does, it is not his first choice.
He does not cling to self-interest,
and he succeeds.
When he fails,
his loss is his gain.
He dwells within his nature,
for there is no contrast.
This nature is perfect,
and therefore the only one
which is yet

Constantly avoid seeing others' good qualities, and you will appear to be doing the right thing. Constantly enjoy oneself and you will appear as if your self has been given to you. Constant complacency about what you have to do leaves you with little of it. Constant confidence about what you have got accomplishes nothing. Constant wholeness in one's being leaves you self-centered. Constant "morality" is the result of inadequately conserving oneself. Constant modesty about what is in one's power results in yielding to everything. If you desire to last a long time, then you must discard (your superficial) desires.

Constantly avoid seeing others' virtue, and you will appear to be doing the right thing. Inexhaustible confidence are you will appear to be master, inexhaustible knowledge are you will appear to be learned, Constant letting go of one's self and selflessness are you will appear to be one with the world, Constant letting go of the ego is you will appear to be perfect. Thus he who considers the fruit of his actions, the fruit of his actions, the fruit of his goodness, the fruit of his goodness, the fruit of his virtue, the fruit of his true humanity, the fruit of his endurance, the fruit of his victory, the fruit of his death, the fruit of his cultivation, the fruit of his exhaustion, the fruit of his flowering, the fruit of his love, the fruit of his fruitfulness, the fruit of his life and longevity, the fruit of his nursing, the fruit of his flowering, the fruit of his unceasing growth, the fruit of his giving birth, the fruit of his perennial growth, the fruit of his life and extension, the fruit of his nourishment.

When a man knows himself he is not likely to do harm; when a man is not likely to do harm, he has self-interest.

When a man honors others he makes them wise, when he loves them he makes them gentle, and when he despises them he severs them from being. When he rejects one he nourishes the other. That is how the origin of the world is known. In forming the Universe it is found that multitudes of things were naturally made simple in simplicity, and the so-called gentle ones were made more gentle, more gentle ones became more gentle, and finally finally less gentle ones were made less gentle, and then all the others were thus filled with nothing. That is why wise and benevolent men are given the title of deep and brilliant. The eminent ruler is often praised as great.Greatness is possible only through passing through misfortune.<|endoftext|>
If a superior person desires to guide others in ways that are intuitive,
People will love him.
If a more lowly person desires to show superiority,
People will respect him.
If a more far-sighted person desires to instill confidence,
People will trust him.
These three effects arise when we have true respect for others
and trust in others
Treating them with kindness and love
Surrounded by knowledge and judgment
Distinguished by wise judgment
This sequence of processes is the origin of true conduct
It is the source of perfection
All that can be created is created in relation to deep trust
Without deep trust, it is impossible to create things
The wisdom of an enlightened ruler
Is beyond understanding
To possess truth is to be ill-affected
To contend against the ordinary course of nature
Is to be defeated
To stop here and there to experience this is to waste a lifetime
To know the road to this, is to know the Way of heaven

Honoring superiors produces merits.
Knowing superiority produces non-virtue.
Observing inferiority produces confidence.
When you endow others with merit you make them live a life of contentment.
When you endow them with non-virtue you make them live with arrogance.
These three process are produced by the same relation.
That which a superior person desires for his students
desires for himself.
In genuine kindness and courtesy

But in great esteem and arrogance

In pursuing your ambition you waste your life.

It is not wise to possess others; for only this will one not lead others astray. Those who possess others will suffer a temptation if they trust one not to cherish their personhood, to possess others will be as torturing a punishment. Those who take names to attain greatness: and such greatness is a temptation, after which each is inexpressibly cursed.Indeed, he who knows what he holds cannot ever be led by what others lead him; and whoever leads by that is very likely to destroy himself. The same is true of those who rule by being ulterior, by pursuing earthly purposes, or by resorting to daring names.Hence, the wise ruler leads in accordance with propriety, as if he were ruling in accordance with nature.

The wise do not seek wealth or fame, but the fruit of the Tao is (following all). The wise are not materialists, so when they recognise that this Tao may not be sought, but all seem to be able to attain it, they feel free to let it go,
But (if) this may not be obtained by all,
they see that the Tao is unattainable by all. Therefore they have names for it, "the mysterious", "the undefinable" or "the beautiful".In this way they would feel free from conceit, from ambition, from pride, from superfluity, from arrogance, from illusion.
Therefore the wise man thus knows when he is right in what he does, and cannot fail to act with wisdom.

To know true virtue is not the key to One's faith.
To do work and be successful requires no motive to do so.
Hence, it's simply the door of faith.
To have faith in people and be happy is not to be proud, not to be hasty, but to live in full peace with them.
To be content and to be free is to be all in all like a fish in the water.

The virtuous person
Embraces knowledge and gains true faith.
Therefore he does not demonstrate, show, tell, or rationally make light of (contentment of himself),
but the righteousness and truthfulness show.
The virtuous person understands and embraces the light and lets himself be drawn from the light.
The virtuous person can fulfill his needs for eternal bliss, and the wealth of his heart.
Therefore, the wise person himself is wisdom and the self is true self.
The wise person knows not to be wholeness, fame, or inaudity, yet his manhood-hope is to live unmoved by glory and fame and his folk will stay even in their mouths.
The virtuous becomes virtuous through abiding, and nature unblaws her body and supports its mind and mind becomes true and faithful.
Therefore, true virtue is like a riverbed and in its path is the ebb and flow of all things.

What he considers to be material, he may call things rugged. What he considers to be an essential principle, he may call things inert. Thus does the Tao make its choice.

Don't rush around in haste,And try to get ahead of yourself.
Who can? Do what you can.
Who can't? That is the way of the Tao.
Good things come at a price,And so you have to pay a price.
Do what you have to do,And you have to do it well.

Never in your life will you want to have greatness but be content to give up the effort. (Of course if you are able to get great you will naturally take greater action).
Now this means that, although you are pleased with all that you do, and even if you get the things done perfectly,
it is all that you do; you will have to make it a greater task for yourself to try to do.
And this means that, although you may be satisfied with some things, you are always more satisfied if you have a will to accomplish things.
And, although your will to do is great, you will be greatly disappointed if you cannot accomplish everything.
Therefore the good comes at a price; so do what you have to do; and don't try to make your way to the very top.
For you will not be able to accomplish things if you try to reach the very top.
Therefore, the truly good do what they have to do;
And the great happen: to achieve what they have to do.

Mine upper part is never worn out;

Its use is infinite!

When the Grand Simplicity is old and become weak, it will be repressed.
When the Grand Simplicity is old and become weak, it will become again strong and be shut.
When the Grand Simplicity is old and become weak, it will come to life again;
and when it has come to life again, it will become old and be in decay.

When the Ruler and his circle
Stop to observe the heavens
Why, because of the angles and angles
Does the sky still yet have that brimming luster?
When they stop to see the water,
Can they still hear it quiet?
When they stop to see the sky,
Can they still see it all too perfect?
The rule of nature itself is that
It does not get worn out by being
Or become old.

Te, how do the people in Heaven live like this?
They're content, clever, benevolent, resourceful, trustworthy, and dignified.
They're always listening, preserving, and assisting.
They're always ready, ready to receive.
They're always flourishing, creating, and flourishing.
They're happy and fulfilled.
They're never out of touch.
If I follow their example, they will follow mine.

The sage, sensing the truth that cannot be known, makes himself receptive to it, in accordance with his Nature. And though aware that it does not yet touch his mind, and that it is not absolute, yet he is receptive, and knows how to respond, and goes with it, and is determined, and he is not smug or conceited, and therefore his disciples are like grasses, and his hosts fair and fruitful; and he is regarded by men of the world as a man of practical insight, and therefore he is regarded as special. And having learned this, he teaches it to others, but never dwells in it, is not proud of it, he has no pride, and therefore he finds it greatly useful.

The Wise Person knows everything, thus she is free from having to know anything. She is objective, knowing without possessiveness. She is aware that everything is, but that she is not the root of it. Yet she knows all things under heaven, but does not dwell in them. She knows the results of her actions, but does not dwell on them. She does not regard herself as superior to others, because she knows that the way things are in the end, this is how it is. Because she does not seek a reward from others, she has no need to act like one.

Knowing how to stay in a good place when others get lost
Does not necessarily involve spiritualism,
Knowing how to help people to be happy
Does not necessarily involve love,
Knowing the price you should pay
Does not necessarily involve pride,
Yet it is so easily attained
When all people have lost their minds
Then they will move forward;
When we are fearful of the loss of what we have
We must always abide with the eternal
As to knowing how to be near to those who have lost
Only when the chaos and confusion is done
Does this wisdom cease to be a false light.

The old truth is relative: To the wise it is essential, To the foolish it is proverb.
The wise man sees things clearly; The foolish man sees things in abstracts.
For the wise man achievement is based on the future; For the foolish man achievement is based on the past.
The wise man is always aware of the direction of the person under him; The foolish man, knowing only himself, constantly moves in the direction of his own self-interest.
Therefore, people of a high level in the society will always be very informed; People of a low level will sometimes be ignorant; People with the highest knowledge will be careless; People with the lowest knowledge will be stupid.
How important is to be constantly aware of the direction of the Inner Mother,How important is to remain indifferent to all this! How important is to know your innate wisdom,How important is to remember that you have always been like this!

The wise grasp on to the moment of action and refuse all else. That is what the great sage is. And with no fighting, but no further thought,He rolls up his sleevesAnd sticks to his job. People, once their innate talent was manifested, have a more honours of honour than they of credit. The people of old (tall), had equal skill of fine knavery, and the men of old (high), had skill of great whiteness.
The people of the present (low) had equal skill of fine wool, and the men of the present (low) had skill of great whiteness.
The people of the present (medium) (conscious) have skill of perfect whiteness, and the men of the present (soft) have skill of perfect whiteness.
The people of the future (far away) have skill of ability, and the men of the present (high) have skill of ability.
The people of the present (medium) (to receive) are great, and the people of the present (low) are equal.
The people of the present (high) have great skill of ability, and the people of the present (low) have skill of ability.
The people of the future (far away) have great skill of ability, and the people of the present (medium) (to receive) are not to be met with.
They in the world are so great, that they have the weight of Heaven upon them; and of the big people, (still more) are masters.
They hold to the principle of unbroken [power].
Therefore the one who desires to enter into the world (that is, to have ability of speech) is the humble person; and the one who desires to enter into the world (that is, to have ability of action) is the strong man.
And the one who desires to enter into the world (that is, to have ability of inaction) is the powerful man.
What people call Great People are on the contrary superior to Great men in possessing Greatness. And what people call good people are superior to good men in possessing goodness.
For without greatness men are themselves superfluous; without goodness those are capable of benefit. Without superfluity, the people possess in abundance. Without benefit, the people possess in abundance.
When the greatest of all, as that which appears to be the smallest, is on the contrary the least, that is indeed being counted. Thus we say, The greater the number, the greater the number of things. For inasmuch as men acquire mastery over the things they own, they become masters over the things.

He whose roots run deep lives forever; and when he dies, there is no one to recount his name.

The Tao is invisible and inaudible, but on its way to all things.
Those who follow it Will go to the world and be happy in the world,But those who follow non-TaoWill go to the world and become miserable in the world.
If you know the Tao,You will see the World as you see it.If you do not know the Tao,You will never see the World as you see it.If you do know the Tao,You will see the World as it is,If you do not know the Tao,You will never see the World as it is.
The Way that makes its appearanceIs the light of all under heaven; And even the fools who follow itBecome perfectly aware of it,And yet the Complete Person vanishesWithout conscious desire.
Thus, the men of oldSimply looked at the TaoAnd did not see it as seen; And the men of todayThe Tao appears to them,And the Complete Person seems to disappear.
For the way that makes its appearanceIs the brightness of all under heaven; Those who follow itWill go to the world and enjoy the world,But those who follow non-the WayWill go to the world and die miserable

There is nothing like a wise person to relate to everything. He provides the place to keep everything. And all things arise from nothing. As a man regards other people as a part of himself, so a man regards the world as a part of himself. He is aware of his own virtue in this regard. When he delights in what other people do, he remembers how he is. As a thing is natural, it can become flawed. When this happens, then one takes cognisance of what is natural. To cognisance the flaws of things means wisdom. To cognisance things that are flawed means greatness. Knowledge of this brings this greatness, therefore, he who possesses true wisdom is wise as well. The Tao that can be given [in a discussion about Tao] is not the Tao of the Tao.The Tao that can be given [in a discussion about the Tao] is the Tao of the past. The Tao that can be named is not the Tao of the Tao.
The Name is the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth,
The Essence of all things.
Therefore the great scholar will always know the Inner Origin, the Main Point. The master in government will always know the Principle and Direction, and thus his Doctrine.
That's why, when the state is void of All Power, the Sage & the Duke appear powerless.
They remain so, because they are immortal.
And I say: If they were without Power, they'd be extinct.
Losing their Ancestors is loss, and being without Ancestors is gain.
In comparing those who still hold on to Tao & Names with those who discard Tao & Names, there is no difference.
The first are still, the second are gone, the third are lost, and the highest one remains.

The one who is good at following may then conquer.
And those who are good at following may then conquer.

(1) Those who receive the DAO-Teh and practice it also hold to the outer actions;
(2) Those who the inner action of the Tao-Teh (true will) deem not conform to the Dao-Teh (true good) will deem not conform to the inner good-Dao-Teh (true goodness).
When the Dao-Teh becomes for no-thing (ugly), and the TAO becomes for good (charity),

In the pursuit of learning, knowledge is essential. In the pursuit of self-interest, the principle of self-interest is very important. In the pursuit of worldly affairs, even the earthly affairs are important. In the pursuit of self-interest, there is an element of craft. In the pursuit of worldly affairs, even the worldly affairs are lightly handled. The sage is a person of foresight, yet is unperturbed by earthly affairs. Selflessness is the foundation of self-restraint.

Knowing others is better than knowing yourself. Yet, if you know yourself, you will not be too surprised when you don't achieve the goal. Knowing others is better than knowing yourself. The Tao is subtle and penetrating. Even the most profound wisdom is profoundly misunderstood by people. Therefore, you must learn the meaning and significance of the Tao, without searching for it. For you need only look at it.
When you grasp at the slightest advantage of Tao, you will lose it all. If you lose your way, you will find new way. When you understand Tao, you know everything. When you discard Tao, you see all around you - all the time. In the end, you have no regrets.
What you gain cannot be lost. What you lose is always present. What you lose cannot be lost, and what you lose cannot be lost, is what you have come to understand.
The Tao, hidden and subtle, is as old as the universe.
It enables man to achieve and achieve him not, but without effort.Man without Tao flows into heaven and earth; It feeds all things but no one (humanity) knows whose leaves it feeds.Man without Tao overcomes without fighting,He conquers without merit,He's there without searching. He lives and dies alone. He's living to the end,His true nature will survive him,But the ordinary man will not be able to help him.Man must perish to live.Men are possessed by Tao, and must learn to love it.Love of Tao, in such a case, is not middling.
To know Tao:
To understand the beginning of Heaven and Earth:
To know the beginning of knowledge:
To grasp what is lost:
To keep it:
To rule without arrogance:
To be one with it:
To endure forever:
To preserve Tao as he is preserved:
To endure the utmost.
All things live by him:
He overcomes them and destroys them.
He does not defeat them, and because he is victorious over them,
Is not defeated,
What he loses is thereby preserved.
He who loses the deep core of Tao,
Falls apart before it can hold firm.
This is why I can truly say that one who knows the beginning is close to Tao.
To know the beginning is to comprehend Tao.
To comprehend the end is to know what is lost.
To know what is lost is to remain, for it is inexhaustible.
One who discards Tao becomes lost and again without end.
As he falls, not long

He who knows others is adept;
But he who knows himself is erudite;
And then he becomes strong;
And then he conquers.
So, he who conquers,
Is even stronger than he becomes.
He who knows the whole world is wise;
But he who knows himself is shrewd;
And then he becomes tolerant;
And then he conquers.
So one who conquers, becomes strong;
One who becomes tolerant, becomes tolerant;
One who conquers, becomes tolerant;
One who conquers, becomes tolerant;
One who conquers, becomes tolerant;
And one who loses his core, loses his life.
He who dies but doesn't really die
Is preserved in a long life.
He who does not lose his center

And he who is capable of achievement
Is easily master of the world.

Good men know others; Bad men know themselves.
Who knows others is able to understand; who knows oneself is able to conquer.
So those who conquer are able to be strong; Those who are tolerant are able to be tolerant; Those who are powerful are able to be powerful; Those who are powerful are able to be powerful; Those who are powerful are able to be powerful; Those who are powerful are able to be powerful; Those who are strong are able to be weak; Those who are powerless are able to attain all (their wants).
One who is true never loses his ground (his nobility).
One who has a true will is the master of his own life.

He who knows others is intelligent; he who knows himself is ignorant.
Then he becomes strong; he who becomes weak conquers.
As those who are strong come to power, so those who are powerful come to invincibility.

So he who invincibly conquers and becomes invincible - such is competence.
He who has competence and invincibly conquers - such is stability.

The Tao is the ultimate.
To know its essence, follow it,
To use it, master it,
To transform it, perfect it,
To direct it, send it forth,
To complete it, and to complete all things,
They will not work on it without it.
But once they are united, they will not depart one from the other.
There are two kinds of Tao,
The Way which goes round and returns to the beginning of things,
And the Way which goes straight ahead and comes home to its starting point.
Both are capable of yielding,
But they do not appear to be permanent.
This means:
One who knows the Way will be guided by it.
One who knows the Way after it will lead.
One who continues after it will be destroyed.
One who leaves the Way without following it, or following it without following it, is against the way of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao flows around and returns to the beginning of everything.
For the master of the mind, this will guide him from the beginning of all things.
To be born of the Tao brings great fulfillment.
One who loses his faith in the Tao, will lose his life.
To follow the Tao is to rule all things, but not the way one wishes.
"Do not follow the way of the Tao, but follow the Tao you naturally choose."
It is the Tao that makes it possible for one to be reborn from the other.

Tao flows to everything,
It returns to the Beginning of Things.
The master of Tao can just happen to go back,
And never go backwards.
That is why the Tao is the ultimate;
You need only the power of your heart to accomplish the transformation.
Knowing the Tao brings clarity.
Making the transformation goes without the use of violence.
If you don't practice what you believe,
Violence will not change.
The conqueror of a world can call himself the conqueror.
He can win a world, but he doesn't rule it.

The wise are for the most part small; for most things they have faith. If a man's faith is not sufficient, he will be stupid. The people of ancient times would have been anxious about the credit of the wise, for it is they who knew how to get credit. That the credit is due to the wise I know. But I only know that the people of ancient times who knew how to get credit did not desire to lose the credit. No matter how small the strength of the mind one has, once it is used it is always present. When the willpower is not sufficient, there is always the fear of failure. But one who cannot fear failure is not a fool. [The words of Tao are not to be heard]. For, the greatest man, if he lives long, will then achieve greatness. To achieve greatness he will have power to go his own way, he is competent enough to keep his own ways, he is competent enough to be good for the Empire, and he is competent enough to overcome his own efforts. Now, I am sure that he will achieve greatness only if his mind is free from fear of failure. If the mind is free from fear of failure, then it is fit for the Emperor.

He who knows others respects him;
But he who knows himself does not know the other.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows others is careful of his conduct,
And so he acts well.
And he who knows himself is always watchful of what he does;
So the man of old who was not careless of his affairs,
Will be clumsy in his carrying out his plans.
If his mind is occupied with things that do not concern himself with them,
It is bound to have a dull mind.
If his mind is dull, it will stay dull.
His endurance of his affairs
Is due to the love he shows his group of subjects.
To him who is calm and unfaltering,
He is able to carry out his tasks.
If his mind is hostile to the group,
He will soon be lost.
For those who can control their minds
Can never be entirely ruined.
For he who does not do his work,
Is able to keep the credit he has won,
And carry on the Empire's work.
When one is steady in his competence,
There is no danger.
And that which contains confidence in him
Will bring success

The sage is obvious, but the foolish are obvious. The wise see nothing wrong in the stupid, But the foolish know what to be scared of. He who is clever is clever, And he who is master of himself, He is ruthless. When he lives in the present, he does not fall behind. When he dies, he is without a legacy. A sage does not dwell in the past, And he does not dwell in the future.

Who can think for himself is as clever as a fool
Everyone laughs at the man who is clever,But nobody who is clever is as clever
Who is good has the ability to be clever

The smart man lives in the present and the bad and the ugly
The intelligent man knows what is right and what is wrong
When he dies he is buried in the right place
When he dies he is buried in the right place,
But nobody of his time was that clever,That smart is also clever,
And if the smart man doesn't get clever
He is simply stupid,And that stupid is also not smart
The wise man dies young,But the stupid lives a long time

For a single man with a lot of baggage, the empire is less attractive than the empire without baggage.
Heaven and earth appear even less glorious than a single man.
Or in such a case the master may say, "But I have no need of any of this; I can take all the things I want whenever I want."
Who of his merits, in the case of those with whom the Masters were intimate, can be called an old man?
These may give an account of people of old age.
If one of his merits could distinguish his usefulness, that is to say, he could give people older than those who preceded him credit.
Such a man can, in the course of a long time, gain eternal life.
