The highest virtue is born from simplicity.
The lowest virtue is born from action.
Superior virtue originates from intelligence.
Lowest virtue originates from not-being.
<|endoftext|>
Of highest virtue - The sage
- A river of Virtue flows into Nothingness.
A river of mediocre virtue - The arrogant arrogant headings this virtue.
The valley of mediocre virtue - The loss of perspective - cannot be experienced.
The valley of utmost virtue - The absolute trust and confidence that makes it possible.
That is why the greatest of greats - Is not praised as "great".
Is not "great" praised as "good"?
And indeed, Is not the word "good"
Good enough to practice it
Forever?
Is not the word "good"
Consequent to all who follow it?
In this Way the greatest virtue is attaining the essence of Tao.
This essence of Tao is subtle and intangible, elusive and hidden.
But within it exist many thousands of things that arise and develop,
some put in place, some for ever.
This being-ness within it - that it is all-under-heaven - Is not to be unappreciated.
Is not the accomplishment of it to be acknowledged?
The essence of this Tao is always present.
The Greatest Virtue - In the world, just like a single strand of water - flows into the whole ocean.
The Grand Virtuosity - In the whole world, just like a single strand of men.

The high, though great in being,
truly exist but without substance.
The low, though great in being,
without substance;
The high, though great in being,
contemplates to exist but not with substance.
The low, though great in being,
contemplates to exist but not with substance.
The highest existence is either the consequence of innate Being
or the yielding effect of fixed action.
To "be" is to produce.
To yield is to be.
The ultimate in action is simply that which existed long ago.
When times of peace last,
Even the names of exalted individuals will go out.
When times of exaltation last,
Even the phrases "and yet" will be uttered.
When times of exaltation last,
Even the names of exalted individuals

Pure Light embraces the Way, while darkness hides it.Darkness only guides Light.
If we do not conform to the Way, how shall we know it is the Way?
By this Light.
<|endoftext|>
The noble discerns the way.
The obscure discerns the light.
The obscure discerns the dark.
The light can never leave,
so how can the darkness?
From that source all things arose.
From that source all things were created.
The dark was always there,
it was the source of all things,
but we can never grasp it, so we see it.
From what source did everything arise?
From the light.
<|endoftext|>
The subtle discernment discerns the subtle Way.
The long-shut eye lets all things pass without a murmur.
The reason the light is there is that the subtle Way cannot be held fast.
There was a time when everything was, but it was impossible to define this phenomenon.
Things are born, but they could not be defined.
All of the things were born into being, but they could not be defined.
All of the things were created, but they could not be defined.
The myriad things rise from one source and in time are shaped into what they are, yet none know their origin.
How do I know the beginning of all things?
I observe the beginning of things.
<|endoftext|>
Truly, discernment is from the light.
<|endoftext|>
The Way - be you -does not illuminate; the Tao is elusive, the source of all the boundless things; Yet darkness from whence all things arise.
So too:
One that sees all things need only this light to see the Way; One that sees the Tao may only see its darkness to see the ways.
Since one only sees the Way and the darkness is there, it would seem that the subtle Way can never complete itself. And so, subtle is the Way's darkness,Dark is the way's obscurity,From which comes all things.
If we are able to comprehend all beings and to preserve their origin, This will be a great aid to man.

Existence is like music in that it can only be heard in its entirety
Genes are like a bellows that cannot be exhausted
Myriad kinds of things exist, and I do not know where they came from
All creatures arise from the void and wear away
I alone am Eternal, elusive and existing everywhere
Wherever I go, I see the mother,
Wherever I lay my head, I am the flower,
Wherever I live, I learn from the teacher
I do not use words to make sense of it all
I speak from the heart, and take the outcomes
As I see it, things arise from nothing but the ability of the mind
Not just words can describe this so I can describe it all

Existence is like sound of the largest clarinet. It cannot be sounded by an instrument. The beings of this world have existed since the beginning. It is only by observing their emergence that we can perceive their diversity. The universe is infinite, with innumerable things, but it is only through the realization of the possibility of non-existence that we realize the world as a whole. Thus:When we realize that the universe is infinite, we begin to see the richness and complexity of its diversity. When we realize the depth of depth, we begin to see the order and unity of its diversity. When we realize the vastness of space, we begin to understand the infinity of its diversity. When we realize that all things come from something, we begin to understand their ability and independence. When we realize the reality of all things, we begin to understand their potential.Existence is the fountainhead of creation and the source of all creation. By recognizing what is real and the source of what is real, we experience the mystery of existence.
<|endoftext|>
Existence is like the inexhaustible water. When it is full it is empty; when it is empty it is active. The myriad creatures of the world have existed for ever in their source (the Tao). They are thus able to observe their existence, but they know that they exist. They are therefore aware of their nonexistence. If they were ignorant of their existence, then they would be unaware of their nonexistence. This is called "filling the emptiness". They understand how everything in the world was made. Through this they are able to understand the origins of the myriad creatures. But I am not aware of my source. Therefore

It is as though nothing else exists
and so it can be ever so pure.
It is as though it did not exist at all and yet it is so substantial.
It is as though it were now without beginning and yet its substance is still there.
It is as though it existed, yet now it is nothing.
It is as though it were always existing, yet it has shrunk.
It is as though it existed long ago and now it has ceased to exist.
It is as though it were always existing, yet is indistinct.
So it has come into being by being so.
It is as though it were always existing, it is so.
It is as though it were always existing, it is not.
It is as though it was ever existing, it has nothing to do with it.
It is as though it were always existing, it has something to do with it.
It is as though it ever existed, now it is just a dim memory.

Nothingness - emptiness.
Oneness - equality.
Mixiness - diversity.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only thingness.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only kindness.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only justice.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only magnanimity.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only formality.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only lack of formality.
There is nothing to mix,
there is nothing to equal,
only form.
It is like to be in a wispy cloud.
It is as though something inside were already there.
It is as though it is just some isolated point in the course of time.

Thus everything has been born.
There is nothing at all.
There is nothing to be differentiated.
All is one.
It is present.
It is excluded.
It is present because it is excluded.
It is present because it is excluded.
It is present because it is excluded.
It is present because it is present.
It is in motion; it is preserved.
It is immutable.

The name of Dao is given only by means of All Things existing.
All Things exist in All Things, but it is the Quietness which is Perfection;
It is the Quietness which is Hardship;
It is the Softness which is Unyielding;
It is the Softness which contains the Core;
It is the Yielding which is Weak.
For a while its no-name existed but the Thread of the Glory and the Foreshadow of the Ultimate Core.

If Tao were more like a fish, the fish would be unable to dive in;
If Tao was more like a valley, the valley would not be able to flow;
If Tao were more like a rock, the rock would not be able to hold its own;
If Tao were more like a great mountain, the great mountain would not be able to divide itself;
If Tao were more like a valley, the valley would not be able to become soft;
If Tao were more like an elephant, the elephant would not be able to evolve into a man;
If Tao were more like a carriage, the carriage would not be able to move;
If Tao were more like Heaven, Heaven would not be able to support its own beings;
The greatness of Tao could not be named.
This is because Tao is so subtle and empty.
How do we know it is so subtle and empty?
By the Way.
The Way is not named. It is the cause of the emergence of the world.
The cause of the emergence of the world is in the Way.
The Way is elusive and unknown.
It is obscure and unknown. It is elusive and unknown;
It is hardly named;
It is all-pervading.
As for the Way it is never rejected; it has become the background to the many things.
<|endoftext|>
The fish that is able to dive (i.e., swim) in deep waters will not be able to get out. The valley that can stem rivers will not be able to overflow. The great rock that can hold together all the rocks will not be able to split. If one follows the Tao (Way), he will master the thousands of things. Now the Tao cannot be referred to; this is its real essence. It is clear, unobstructed, and not named.
======================================== SAMPLE 6 ========================================
We observe by following the Way.
(We only observe what is essential.)
We observe by seeking to be Tao.
The way is an enduring resource.
We should not be confused by what is apparent.
Be fully aware of the deep.
That is why Dao is still and mysterious.
From its very beginning it has endured.
Therefore, it is the constant treasure.
Dao is a nebulous space.
Even though no one can clearly see it,
it seems to be there everywhere.
It is a changeless, blank space,
evolving without end.
A mysterious space,
by its very nature, mysterious.
Ever at peace.
Because the Dao exists,
no one can claim ownership.
The Dao is eternal.
It is not changeable.
It is not metaphysical.
It is uniquely real.
Always there.
Because there is nothing.
Not belonging.
Not forced.
Those who are only
in it
are not
at one with the Source.
They are
open and receptive,
which is how
they can remain
within
this wonderful Mergence
through the Ancient
Alteration.
If you are open and receptive,
you can flow
through everything.
It is this openness
that gives you permanence.
Because everything is
available to you,
you will never be
pressured.
Be flexible, open,
and you will flow.
Therefore the Primordial is permanent,
as though given to all.
It is not changeable.
It is not bound by cycles.
It is unfathomable,
yet available forever.
It is the subtle essence of destiny
that has always been there,
and is
still as it always has been
and is
just waiting for you to notice it.
<|endoftext|>
"The word is not constant, although eternal; no permanent being can give a name to it; and its creatures do not name it, for it constantly evolves." "It is unchangeable, and it exists everywhere." Therefore it is the eternal treasure to the Sage.
The word is insufficient to comprehend the essence of Dao. Therefore the DAO expresses itself; the eternal substance preserves itself by being unchanged.
This is called the mystery.
Existence and non-existence are identical, but their differentiation is distinct, like the Great Reflection;
They are perfect

The highest virtue lies in following the way of Nature.
Nature, in all its infinite intricacy, returns to itself. It returns to its simplicity, its vacancy,
Its potentiality, its complete emptiness.
This return to its simplicity reveals it to be beyond belief.
Nature returns to everything; everything returns to Nature.
Nature is everywhere.
The ways and aspirations of men
sometimes seem to make sense to me,
but they really are the mere manifestations of Nature.
The teachings of Tao do not illuminate
the ways and aspirations of men.
Thought forms often reveal the depth of an elusive mystery,
but this is the reality of Nature.
All things have existed before time began;
as soon as they arise,
they are followed by those that have existed before them.
The ancient Elders said,
"It is from them that I draw my lesson,
It is from them that I gain my sanctity."
<|endoftext|>
The highest virtue is derived from the life of Nature, and therefore we do not differ from Nature. The difference between Virtue and Virtue lies in its seeming extreme simplicity. Vigorous to nature it seems, we sometimes perceive its extreme simplicity, sometimes we appear to observe it. Yet it seems to us to be mysterious, obscure and abstract. It is obscure, obscure and abstract. But if we comprehend it, its radiance reaches beyond. A stilling! quiet! tranquil! it is already revealed to us. In its beginnings we see that it is not as we might presume. In its growth we see that it is not as we might presume. It has no beginning, no end, and can never be cast down. This is what the wise men had in mind. A word of Dao, how do I know of its existence? It is revealed to me. How do I know that Dao is Truth? I have it as my DE in my heart. By it, I shall live all my days. How do I know that the Dao is true? I learn it from it. It is the Standard. How do I know that I shall die? By it. What is the ancient custom of the Dao?
<|endoftext|>
The highest virtue consists in following Nature;
Nature follows humanity, and thus the essence of Virtue is not different.
Virtue and humanity often differ
from one another.

We are simply seeing the manifestations of this unformed mystery.
Beyond the outward appearances,
that which is real is everywhere.
Yet the appearance of appearance,
untransparent, may be

The great Sovereign's action was never anonymous; therefore its principle is that which can be named. That which can be named is
unnamable.
Thus: through its action, all things are born.
Through its action, all things become extinct.
Thus: through its action, all things are perfected.
Thus: through its action, all things are produced.
Through its action, all things are praised.
Thus: through its action, all things are abandoned.
This is why the sage does not discard or detain, but employs it. The Tao-Wisdom all but identifies the principle of action, and lets it take on various forms.
Dao, Tao, and Tao-Tao all fall short of being fully identified and successful in their activities.
Dao, Tao, and Tao-Tao all, however, don't lose their individuality.

From them I obtain an understanding of the ancient relationship between Dao and Infinity.
The infinite mystery of Infinity is always to be followed.
The endless journey within each mote of dust provides the context.
The mote of dust is the relation of Infinity to Infinity.
Infinity and Infinity are all one.
They have different relations, yet the relation remains constant.
We can see that Infinity is beyond all knowledge.
It is beyond knowledge, and even I cannot see its boundary.
Infinity contains in itself the Mystery.
It is only through this Mystery that we can comprehend all.
What is a man, a thread of thread?
What's a thing, a kernel?
What is eternal, has nothing to do with such an end.
What is constant, has a beginning.
Through this one can see that the universe comes from nothing.
What follows this one has no necessity to live for.
The unchangeable reality manifests itself in the infinite.
The changeable reality contains the infinite.
The infinite is eternal.
Continuous is constant.
How can there be an end to this cycle?
From the beginning, all things arose and existed.
This gives us the essence of the universe.
From the eternal, we can see its manifestations.
Through this we can know its beginning.
What we know, is known by this.
Tao is the beginning of the universe.
It is beyond understanding
The universe is the beginning of Tao.
It is the eternal unchanging thread.
Without a name,
Its depths are the eternal
Beyond form, it is the beginning of the world.
As long as there is nothing,
This is the beginning of the world
To know the universe, is to know the beginning of the universe.
To know the universe is to know the beginning of the universe.
From the beginning, all things can be found.
From the state of nothing,
All things can be found.
From the state of the undefinable,
All things can be found.
Through this we can know the beginning of the universe.
This is why,
There is nothing beyond the universe.
We don't know its end.
He who can know its end
Is an aid to the universe.
The whole universe can be known by the universe.
From the state of unchanging nothing, the beginning of the universe can be known.
This is why

And when it is exhausted, and there is no more to bring, it puts in a good store. When well preserved, it shows its face. One may approach the world as a commoner, who also approaches the world as a goodly woman. She who approaches the world as a respected woman will have the reputation of a wise and goodly woman; she who approaches the world as a widowed woman will have the reputation of a simple woman. When one approaches the world as a vigorous and alert woman, it is difficult to deny it is to take its strength lightly. But when she takes the muscles, one may contrast the fierceness with that of the active body. That is why the senior fellow in terms of stature has the reputation of a senior, and the fore-spots have the reputation of a prior. When one is distinguished by the senior, and the fore-spots, one may be noted as prior to. When one is distinguished by the fore-spot, one may be distinguished as the subject. Nature is whole, yet it's not empty. It is subtle, yet has not always been simple. The way of God is subtle, yet has not always been plain. Intuitive, yet has not always been obvious. Pure and perfect, it is enduring. Although there are forms, the person has no definite identity. The center of gravity is hidden. True existence is an illusion. The thread of life is eternal. The man's life is based on a mother and the mama. True identity comes from the Source. Thus, the Name of the World Is Heaven. And heaven is the mother of the universe. Who can be rooted in the mother of the universe? That is why, being true, the sage honours his ancestor and calls himself kuei tung.
<|endoftext|>
Nature is whole and fills everything that is. It never empties, but is not void. It is hidden, but is not obscure. It is to all things simplicity and simplicity alone, and yet without self. It is perfect, and yet without being perfect. It is infinite, and yet without ceasing. Though it is everywhere, it is, too, nothing. For the good originates in the bad. The beginning was the end. The sweet valley is the valley of the origin. It is the valley of the mother. For that reason, the sage honours the origin, for he recognizes the origin as the mother. She alone is called the source. Hence, he identifies the Saint with the origin.

Nature is perfect, yet there is nothing that can substitute. Even though it is unchanging, it is not isolated. Within it lies the magic. The way of Tao is subtle and comprehensive, yet it is abstract. Unfathomable, yet always true. Within it are forms. Within it are names. Inside it are people. Inside it is space. Within it is matter. Matter and space, matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; matter and matter; and matter and nothing. The world's chief is the father of all things. If you cherish the father, you will be in accord with the world. Don't hold on to what you've learned, and the wisdom of your heart will straighten you.

A man of virtue is like a small valley valley in which there is no obstruction. The Tao that you observe is not unqualified. For a way that you observe has not been solidified in reality.
The superior man (can) exist alone and carry himself (in speaking) without displaying himself,In walking alone without reaching his destination,Without putting himself to the test,Without boasting,Without fussing over his work,Without ridiculing his achievements,In doing the work without being distracted by its work,In scrutinizing its results without creating ulcers (illusion),Without mixing his affairs,Without being contentious,Without caring about anything.

He who holds to the Way is like a deep valley submerged in a flood.
The way that flows into the way is neither long nor shallow.
That is how it works:
Embrace openness, because all views arise from it.
Be so centered, because everything in your life is connected to you.
Embrace quietude, because everything in your life is fluid.
Love everything, because your actions are immutable.
In this way you merge, in the infinite, within the one.
<|endoftext|>
Those who follow the Way are like those who are overwhelmed by it, Because they enjoy it as much as the water floods their courtyard.
The depth of the Way's depths
Is neither great nor deep,
And so it leads to the Way's greatness.
Those who are right in their actions never stop,
Abandoning that is considered the way,
Living like that who is quiet and selfless,
Being like that who is kind and generous,
Being that who receives and receives the way,
Being that who has nothing in his possession,
Being that who is surrounded by the world,
Becoming one with the universe,
Being with the world, because the world is within you.
<|endoftext|>
He who advances with the Way stays at a deep level,
yet its penetrating depths are never covered,
It's depth that has no beginning or end,
And just like an empty valley,
It flows with no need to contend,
yet where it seems most like water, it is not real
And just like the realm of uncarved wood,
It never tries to dominate,
The natural way for it, so complete
It does not become a work

Highfalutin type follows, Subtlety follows, But the Way comes naturally. The dispersed into ugliness. But the Way is perfect. The primal force flows through everything, That's its glory, It's mighty and true. Yes, although it comes from on high, It's true to the human family. The upright ones, the most humble ones, My father the greatest - The most genuine! Yes, although it comes from the beyond, It's true to the realm of natural laws. The wisest and most wise ones, The first in their families Are the ones who know the spiritualest. The truth, without words, Is the way the world recognizes. Looked at, it's the holy father. Tao flows naturally.

Abnormal compassion seems superior in clarity. Transcendental quietness seems secure in order. In addition, secret subtleties seem to have limitless influence. Those of the highest order of excellence seem to have conventional wisdom and propriety. But in life, there is no such thing as conventional wisdom and propriety, and everything is inexactly ordered. Though enlightened men, all men under heaven, once were and are normal persons with dignity and propriety. There is a time and a place. The positive side. Those who are enlightened, give rise to Tao. Those who are advanced, are natural persons. Those who are auspicious, have the principle of the natural. Those who are exuberant, have the principle of the meritorious. Those who are discerning, (truly) watchful. Those who observe, are one with Tao. Those who take the external form, are enlightened beings. Those who take the inward shape, are conformists. Those who have exuberance, have in themselves a good supply of respect. All people respect those who are correctly fashioned. All the people do so due to their uprightness.

This type of peace is just like following a guide;
A world-space without further desire.
We follow a DAO that is vague,
not self-descending.
We observe its outer walls as shadows.
We acknowledge its truth while scrutinizing its inner essence.
In doing so we are not wronged.
If we did not observe it,
it would not be our DAO.
If we did not honor it,
it would not be our DAO.
By being in line with the DAO, we
never forget where we are
within it,
to guard our inner integrity.
When the DAO gives birth to the world,
it gives birth to the DAO.
Its mother is the DAO.
We can learn from it.
By following this Way,
we can gain insight.

Soften the too-deep-end and let it flow freely,
Do not stay there by its standards or by its rules,
Let the space flow and flourish without limit.
Soften the thin, and there will be light.
Weften the firm, and there will be melting.
Weaken, and there will be deflection.
When one fills his needs, he will acquire more.
When one lets go, he will lose less.
In general, he becomes more and more clear.
Less is more.
In every direction, there is always the limit.
In every direction there is constant light.

Therefore, the Way is the Way only because it is a Way.
It is called profound because it is profound.
It is not named because it is not named.
Because it is beyond a name, it is always within us.
We can be lost in the darkness of emptiness because it is where the light is.
We can be lost in light because it is where the darkness is.
Because of this, we both need clarity and constancy.
By setting these two on the same level, we become one,
and it is all we need.

Words are made up of positive words, And when cut up into their parts, they are called 'fleeting.' Fame happens when you own and treasure things. Hope is found when you realize that everything is constantly springing from within.
And how do I know that these are these? By the way, I am the strongest one.

The use of words expresses the square root of numbers. As they are the base to the square, so they are the gateway to the infinite.Fame can only be found when the world accepts you and embraces you,When hope is found only when the world accepts you and recognizes you,When success is found only when the world accepts you and honors you,When achievement is found when the world accepts you and joyfully adores you,All these happen through what is called
changing. When these things change, what you call these words are no longer adequate. Therefore, once they have lost their meaning, they are called muddy or obscure.Dishonice is always like darkness. In the confusion of chaos, you find the standard of honor.

How do I know that all in the world possess this gift?

To them this gift cannot be given.
Why does it sound muddy?
Because it is muddled;
For even after it has been quiescent
It cannot be set straight.
Therefore we call it muddy.
Yielding is the lord of the whole world,
And all things he values in return.
The gain he gets by choosing the land over all other lands,
He can use it to make himself a prince.
If he gains the world's love,
Then his gift becomes such that there is no preference.
Why say that he is lord of the whole world?
It is because he is lord of the world.

By (common) consent those of the highest virtue, the chariot, who are present in this wondrous production, are bound to fall short. To fall short is a matter of cause. The cause, which is in itself no cause, divides the myriad beings into beings: But those which are in it, being men are creatures of a thing which hath a thing, are created, And are created of this the mother. This the world is but but one part of.
For simplicity's sake; it is first that the chariot, upon which the picture is built, becomes less. Then it is that upon which the work is done.
Though the chariot fall short, it still stands firm, It gives life to all under Heaven.
On whom do we depend for the Spirit? On the Tao that follows; Its character, on this, is the great subtleties and powers. It is called the most secret mystery, the most insignificant. It is but one form, of countless things. Yet its force may be felt, Its fame may be heard, And therefore it may be accepted by us without an analysis.

The follower of the highest virtue is as a part of the Dao, he can hardly be shown a whit of his fault.
And that it is the fault of the Dao, is nothing to him but the unavoidable consequence of his actions.
Thus, he is neither surprised nor surprised when things happen, and he has nothing to do with them.
When things have been completed, he returns to his old habits.
Things (self and others) are given a place to be, and nothing is set aside to be done.
And when nothing has happened, he stretches out his hands and clasps at them and stops what he is doing.
He gets the advantage of the situation, he stays ahead.
So, when he observes things, he becomes inquisitive, because he is following the Dao and because he is acting according to Dao.

He who learns to live as a person, and returns to Tao (Tao in the world), Will naturally remain like a small child in his home. He will be as a child who has learned to love and be nurtured. He will never stop learning. This is called following Tao. What is the place of the man who returns to Tao? He has a manly way of living. He does not act on his senses. He stays out of trouble. Just because he has no actions in his mind, he is like an ordinary man. In the great struggle between good and evil, All things, men and things, Will serve him! For he stays away from this. Is there anything that can compare to this kind of thing as a man? Yes, there is the place to return to Tao. He will love the manly way. He will love kindness and temper self-command. In the world of humanity, the spontaneous deign of life remains.
In the world of humanity, the natural deign of life remains.
In the world of humanity, the indefinable deigned in life.
In the world of humanity, the natural deigned in life.
In the world of humanity, the undefinable deigned in life.
The source of all being is mysterious.
Shifting into unknownness it is considered the "origin of the universe."
The mysterious origin is known by all beings.
In life all things flourish but not the knowing one; in action all things flourish, yet the knowing one.
The universe is mystery to all beings, but the knowing one is its mother.
So we know the origin of the universe when we comprehend the life of the universe.

The natural way of life is unselfish; but when man fails to value his usefulness, it tends to oppose him to others. When the artificial ways of life have been devised, then it tends to oppose him to himself. But, once the use of men is given, it may turn out that they are but useless men; for what is called active life is not the way of the natural way. Then, a little contemplation will show that men are but blind and stupid creatures. He who follows this way leads others but not himself, and to him that belongs to himself will appear to be a prepossessing and insistent appearance. But he who follows the natural way is in truth more and more confused, and so misleading the world. (The man who) is in this way, loves the great Tao, and does not wish to come into conflict with it, so that he can show all his strength by how little he acts.

He does not discard what he is, but gives to others what they have.
Thus, he is a follower of the Tao, but not of the Tao.
He also does not attack or oppose others, for he regards them as his own

The master takes the Tao as given, and the Tao is her whole life. In that way, the master has all things in common but her own personal vision remains unknown. There are Tao-knowing people, like a good host who holds the guests back.
If you listen carefully you can hear their words.
They have plenty to think of.
If they had never thought of themselves, they would have been as pleasant as an Easter bird.
The Tao is ever present in the world. The more it exists, the more difficult it seems.
The more you know the less you know.
Lose it and you lose it.
This last sentence was purposely vague. Without much, I know what's below. Without much, I know what's ahead. Without much, I know where it comes from. Without much, I know where it goes. Without much, I know the limits of things.
What Tao is, it's not a valid name. And to know Tao is to live life without boundaries.
Be like a flower petaled by the sun. Bend to the Tao of Nature.

What it is Which is beyond name Can, by endurance, be known.Which is beyond name is the Principle of all that exists and is.This Principle we call the Cosmic Essence. What it is Which is beyond name, is but one aspect of this Principle; This one aspect may be known by a journey along its sequence. Its sequence is indefinite, though it begins with the Sublimest Matter. It may last for a long time, though of itself unhewn,Be still, and be it slowly transformed.Which is the Principle of all that exists is but one soul; The other, though, must arise from the same Principle,Or be different in name. For that which, though unlike, is the Principle of the Cosmos,This comes to be known, and is only cognized of by our multitudinous bodies. Its name is the Terrestrial Soul, and its Manifestation. This Terrestrial Soul, though quite dark, and even hateful,Is an image of our finest [prime] natures,And forms that form the natures and then are,The taint of which shall vanish, though subtle as the touch of a child's tongue. As the very earliest parts of the universe all have their Mother, it is only by so doing, that we may know them.I say the Masters know them all, and so do I,How do I know?

The Tao is everlasting, unnameable, intangible, unerotic, unfathomable, all-pervading.
The observer is outside, but all is within.
Through the Tao, all are transformed and, for that reason, manifest.
The Tao can be defined, for all are not defined.
Because the Tao is not defined, one can talk about it as a myriad things.
Because they are not defined, they can be varied and molded to be specific.
Because they are not varied and molded to be specific, they can be described.
Because they are not described, they can be endured and lived.
Because they are not endured and lived, one can know the source of all things.
The Tao is non-different, but the indeterminate cannot be put into words.
The Tao is not absolute, but ceaseless. It is the capacity of man's creative activity that is supreme, it is the end to all creation.
It is only because it is unknown, we call it Tao.

From the very beginning of time it was subtle, mystery and obscure, so it could not be classed with Tao. Yet, from the very beginning till now, all people have followed this (Way), And all things (the ten thousand things) have become one with it, Without being conscious of it. Were we conscious of it, it could only be the uncarved block. So we say it is unknowable. But it is plain that it is unknowable indeed. [Whereby I see the Way as] Dao-The Way of the Tao and I know the Way as Tao.

Tao is as it is without distinction or discrimination. It appears formless. Though unnamed, it is identified with all things. It stands before them without belief or expectation. It avoids the extremes, the complexions, and what isn't as if it would appear unvarying. Yet, because of its simplicity, it can withstand scrutiny.
From the time of the Great Simplicity, to the present, this is called the Mystery. Yes, it appears to be indefinable. Yet, it has existed all along. Without consciousness, it gives rise to existence. Consciousness, being aware, may appear to be indiscernible. Thus, knowing Tao, you can know the nature of the universe. The existence of the universe does not depend on your existence. It has existed for a very long time. It is the "far-reaching". This is how we know Tao is "far-reaching". The Tao is the ancient Tao. The Tao is Tao and is Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is formless, thus named, and indescribable. Its substance is unfathomable. Yet the universe may be seen as a wave upon the ocean of space. So it is that, formless, it moves to be the unity of things. From the very beginning, the Tao has always existed as a wave upon the ocean of space. This wave is truly invisible. In its ignorance, it seems indescribable. Yet even the most mundane things may seem multitudinous. All things in their turn appear as if they appear on the wave. Everything is present and then presents itself as something else. Because everything appears to be multitudinous, this is what is called diversity. Evolving from the simplicity of simplicity, a thing is gradually refined in obscurity. Soon it manifests in the multitudes as the Tao.

When the mind has been muddled it is the nature of the mind to become confused, to get confused.
Until it is no longer confused it cannot be confused.
When the Tao has not faded all beings are all from it, for until they are in the light all things follow them.
The origin of all creatures is not the source, it is that which is the use.
The Tao may be called the invisible hand, the origin of all.
Its use is vast.
The Tao is beyond perception.
It may be called the gate of the great Spirit.
Because the image is unreal it can be sought out.
The way may be called the Way of nature.
Nature is Tao. The way is Tao.
We know that the origin is non-existent.
The way is the essence of the origin.
The shape may be called the movement of the essence.
Nature is Tao. The Tao is all that is.
The Tao can be called the unvanishing gateway of the Manifestation.
It may be called the greatest mirror of the manifestation.
It may be called the door of the spirit.
The Tao is beyond all understanding. It is not the understanding that can be known.
Therefore the seeker of TAO shall stay within the Way, the path which all live by.
The way is unknowable; It is the least unknown.
The time before the dawning of time was beyond the knowledge of the Ancients.
Therefore, TAO is real, One with the nature of reality; The Tao may be called the Tao that is invisible; It is the invisible that is the real;
Nature is the Tao; The Tao may be called the Tao that is real; The Tao may be called the fruit of nature; Nature may be called the spirit of nature; The Tao may be called the mode of action of nature.
Nature can be called Tao. Tao may be called the Tao that is reality.
If you wish to live within the Tao - wait till you know Tao.
If you wish to live beyond the Tao - you must keep this Tao.
If you wish to be yourself - follow the Tao. If you want to follow all that is by nature - follow Nature.
If you want to observe and observe all things - follow Tao.
When Tao is at its absolute greatest, there are only a few that know Tao.
Then, their distance is only to the dimension of Tao.

All creatures under Heaven were made by the principle of Yin,
The principle of the Yin is beyond recognition.
Forever remain indistinguishable.
Forever remain elusive.
The timeless Primal Powers - never absent, self-contained,
the Infinite Time Empty.
Never far from that which is eternal,
So small that it is the Mother.
The essence never vanishing, the simplicity always being there.
The infinite, always on the path.

The myriad creatures of the world were given existence by the Principle; and Principle existed, existed, though still imperfect.
And they all arise from the Principle, though not as yet clear; and they all develop from the Principle, though not as yet imperfect.
Even so, though their existence may exist in the shadows of their being, and their functions and growth in the (necessary) imperfections of their true nature,
they are in a sense still alive.
So fully developed in their being that even the least of the Creatures may regard them as essential, (yet) they are somehow used to fill the space left by Nature's own shutting up.
Those creatures who use the Principle in this manner are justly considered to have passed a far closer home.
The Principle, though never dim and not yet empty, is ever firmly within it.
The thin impassable film of an eternally unchanging substance -
it has a source in the very ground itself.
One who, when forced to dwell on the great perplexities of life,

The 10000 things below the yin attribute the name Yin.
Ten thousand things belong to the yang.
Since ten thousand things depend on yang for their existence, How can the 10000 be regarded as kingly? Therefore by the divine power this Tao remains unaltered.
Its nature is indistinct; Its secret a mystery; Its personality a mystery; Its essence a mystery; Its topology, a multitude of mysteries; Its names are not very long,Its forms too, which are old.
Since the beginning the names have been formless,And so ever since its original simplicity The 10000 names have been changeless.
The beginning of all things was formed from something formless, Formless origin, a beginning, then. From this the hidden essence was revealed.
It was soon forgotten by original simplicity; At this time, the Named Name sprang from something formless, Formless origin, a hidden essence, A dark, obscure mystery, A white and clear image.
So name and form existed before the birth of something; Like this, even though they were hid deep in origin, As long as they are hidden, It is possible to perceive their origin.

Each creature is also composed of a source (yang), and their source gives birth to yin.
By way of the origin (yin) the Yin can be distinguished; and these two also can be distinguished.
From whence did the Yin come?
By reason of its power.
A thing in action gives birth to its material body (yin).
A thing in motion gives birth to its spirit (yang).
So both give birth to their material bodies and spirit.
The cause of their coming together is without name (but I call it "the Laws of Tze).
But of what use is its name to men?
Not the least.

Tao is formless, and yet you will find it profoundly active; it is profoundly active, and yet it cannot be named; it cannot be named, but it is so extremely comprehensive and elusive, and so incredibly deep; and yet, until we reached to the present day, we have never seen the vital essence, and it is very rare for me to see such an essence, it is very rare for me to see such a profound essence, and it is even more rare for me to see a truly active essence, because that is how Tao is.
The Way is something that exists and is called the Great Tao.It is all-embracing, and everything comes to it.It is formless, and yet it will offer itself. It is hidden, and yet it will give itself. It is without substance, and yet it will abide. It is elusive, and yet it will endure. If you look inside, you'll see what is inside. If you look outside, you'll see what is outside. The Way is infinite; everything has a beginning. The Great Tao is formless and has no name. It is beyond the word; it is the Source of everything.
The great Tao is not what is, but is what is.The Tao is not and cannot be known, because it is beyond comprehension. It is hidden and not known, but it is true.Without need, without intention, existence is. Matter is the beginning. The Tao is the All.
The Way is something that is But cannot be all Things. The Way is a formless thing,And in turn has a name. The name is a myriad things.By being nameless,The Tao's truth becomes apparent. And when considered in the present moment,Tao is already known to be nameless.A name is an ultimate abstraction; And, in the words of the Ancients,There is "the endless Tao,And there is the Tao that is eternal."
The Way is the living giving ground for all life.
If you know it, it is beyond your grasp. If you accept it, it is within you.
Therefore the Sage teaches Tao, and only through the Tao can you live in them.

That which seems the worst in the world, must be one of the most genuine. Those which seem like the meanest must also be sincere. The tenacious and hesitant, the haughty and the arrogant, the wise and the unsophisticated, the naked and covered, the unaroused and unformed, the uncarved and uncut, and the flawless, are all the results of the same mould. And these results are spurious.Failing their own show, they appear muddled and insufficient. In this confusion they emerge with their rawness and vision. The sage and teacher of the Tao surely knows this.

To be present means to accept.

To refuse, one may not know what to do.
Is there still something that can be preserved in the realm of the universe?

Nature is praiseworthy; forasmuch as it is praiseworthy it is also
nameless. Its non-nameness

Its growth is the manifestation of the principle. Its essence is

Essence within essence within essences within essences within essence within essences within essence within essence within essence within essence within essence within essence within essence. The whole universe is on the one side, and on the other the world is on the same side. The universe is on the right side, and the world is on the left side. The reason the universe is on the right side is because it knows that it belongs to the same (Heaven-Earth). One who boasts about his knowledge is not his master. He who abandons his ways is his lord. One who dotes over his words is not fit to act as leader. Love and unity belong to the Tao. Attachment to Self belongs to Infinity. In darkness of inner loneliness there exists infinite wonder. Each and every thing is born from the other. When opposites conflict, all things rise. The rules of the universe are on the left side, while life is on the right side. Therefore the truly wise work on the left side, while the ignorant works on the right side. The wise who make peace with the universe is on the left side, while the unwise and foolish are on the right side. This is the root of wise teaching.

He who boasts about being enlightened does not live in enlightenment. He who practices eluding the great unchallenged lives in unchallenged great unchallenged. He who prefers not to express himself does not live in words. He who prefers quietude to strife does not live in his deeds. He who takes his duty as a guide does not live in the greatness of the universe. He who harbors resentment lives in the great ungoverned realm. He who holds true to his nature and keeps his nature in the heart of his beloved, does not reside in ignorance. Therefore,He who sustains, and does not reject, this essence is useful.

The Way of Nature is like a lance of water,
always flowing without halt,

It endures, and never ceases.

But such things, finally, can not be contained within words.

Its way of movement is never tiresome.

The Way is constant, Filled with boundless utility,As the symbol of the worldIs boundless in all directions. It seems elusive, obscure, elusiveSo obscure, so elusiveWithin it, it appears realIn it, it appears formlessInside it, it appears solid. It is absolute without any error,Grasping the essence of everythingGreatly spreading all things,Is rooted in confidence in belief in the principleThat comes from the ancient pastTo this day, it has always been.
The Way is of great service to man. Tao is a thing of which humans are instruments;Tao itself is unknowable, complete, utterly intangible. Indistinct, obscure, inaudible; The border of TaoIs dark and void. There is nothing within it. Teng Teh suggests that it is inaudible. All it is, is Tao. It is the entity of which he is a part; He is the medium through which this entity is transformed into something else. It is inaudible; so he becomes a voice. Since the Tao does not change, its aspect cannot be diminished. It is the unnamable, the immanent. The Sage is also inaudible. He sees the essence of all things, and their very creation. Although he observes the beginning of the universe, he remains in the midst of the universe; he is merely a puddle on the surface, and never changes. Therefore it is from him that the universe sprang.

Tao is subtle and profound. When practiced, one attains the Tao. When Tao is applied, it is applied in subtle and profound ways. A tree is brightened by sunlight, And the spiritual center is immeasurable. The silent is hidden within. The Tao is the unseen. But it is a constant in everything. It follows one, for a myriad of ways can be examined, each with its own weight. The Tao that existed in the beginning may be considered Tao. And so the universal Tao. Tao is the essence of things. The universe as a whole is based on Tao. This is what we know as life. We know the source of the universe. When we reach the end of life, we accept the eternal. These three converge in something else. The universal Tao is eternal, and is not to be doubted.

Heaven's brightness, mirroring the whole, looks like a shapeless mass of dust.
The great virtue streams out of it;
how could it be any other way?
Without its leading, it appears empty, dim, small, as if we cannot see it.
Without its possessing, it appears luminous, full, broad and vivid.
Without its ap- propriating, it appears invisible.
Without its form, it appears impersonal.
Without its manifestations, it appears indefinable.
Without its capability, it appears inert, unexpressed, impersonal.
In its substance, it appears impalpable, imperceptible, impenetrable, im-
possible.
It cannot be fathom-
able, it seems inexplicable.
It cannot be named, it seems blurred, indistinct, and undefined.
Thus, it manifests itself as Dao.
It is hidden in the Tao.
Because of the Tao, it cannot be blurred.

Nature is bright, thus it appears insignificant; Virtue is in its action, thus it appears hard to distinguish; The obscurity of darkness is thereby blurred. The sublime of Virtue thus seems confused. ======================================== SAMPLE 3 ========================================
The great virtue originated in the subtle. Subtle, it did not fashion a vessel; subtle, it did not soften the substance; soft, it did not blend; unfathomable, it did not reveal itself. This is the destiny of the Great Virtue; it takes form of nothing, and its form is nothing. This is the origin of the Great Virtue; it takes shape of the formless.
Thus, the subtle character of the Tao is really hidden from perception. The things of the Tao appear distinct from one another; indeed, they are beyond description. The only thing that seems distinct from another is the space in which they exist, the space that separates them from each other. Even the largest knot is loessy enough to have one corner, and that is what we call the concept of the knot.Yet, even the greatest qualities are not only unknowable, but neither do they manifest themselves. Therefore, the great virtue is not in a state of perplexity and obscurity, but in such a state is it can be called "Existence."Existence is the function of the Tao, that it is always present in the very depths of creation; yet, when it can take form, it cannot really exist, for this is not the case with the Tao. The appearance of Tao is the simplicity of the Tao. The Tao is a hidden (in appearance), the "clear and profound" of our awareness, but the truth is so vast, and as so profound, that it does not reside with us.
<|endoftext|>
Of a particularity The quality of virtue Must be regarded as a phenomenon that has developed into a thing.Things as a thing Are neither very discernible nor very obscurely regarded, Which is because they are that which takes form of itself. The reason why it takes form Is because of the simplicity of its beginning.
The nature of virtue in and of itself has no characteristics; only a purely spiritual aspect can be regarded as its nature. The nature of the virtue is the way in which it takes shape and shows itself. As such, it has no nature. So, virtue has no nature; It has a nature.
All things, including the Tao, are subject to the laws of nature. As things undergo change, they obtain different forms. They do so, through the natural laws of their very nature. The Tao is the way, the mind the mind. When the mind is at rest, nothing is confused by the need to see through to the fundamental

The beginning of Heaven and Earth was invisible, intangible. It was not seen, heard, touched, or experienced by man.The TAO was invisible, intangible, but existed in the world, known and real,To us, the TAO and the TAO are as we perceive the world. To find the beginning of the TAO is to discover the TAO, and the TAO is the beginning of the universe.
The beginning is always invisible and intangible.Yet it is the essential cause of all things. The true Name of Tao is invisible and intangible,It cannot be seen, it cannot be heard, it cannot be touched,It is abstract and inscrutable.Yet when we grasp at it, we see what is it like.
The TAO is in itself dark, intangible, yet can be named. From Tao there came everything. The Te is the mystery and reality. The infinite Mother of All Things is the mystery and reality.
The Tao of old was mysterious and intangible. It was inaccessible.Only to what can be seen is it revealed.Tao of old was profound and subtle. It was never known.Only by knowing it can we know the beginning. The beginning of the universe is Tao.
He who knows the Tao is without blame. He who does not know the Tao is his own fault.
Wu-tsu:
A man of great virtue may not be easily identified with Tao.Therefore, Tao, being identified with a man of great virtue, is treated as being inauspicious. The form of man of great virtue, that is, the form of man of good character, is unrecognizable.Without being recognizable, it is even less certain that it

The great power that comes to people looks like thin ice. Thin ice is ice. Why is it thin ice? Because it is ice. Why is it so hidden? Because it is hidden.
The Way is infinite. What is infinite is within. So what is within, what is invisible, what is undefined, who is it who lives? Who is it who does what? It is within: it is real and real inside, but unseen within and beyond all things.
Tao is great yet cannot be grasped. Long have I listened to the Tao as if it were something to be grasped. To understand the Tao as it is is to feel the beginning of being.
The great masters say, as if it were this, it is at its center, clear and yet mysterious, it is without end, ever present, knowing it is right here, I can't know it not here, the absolute of all things.
TAO is great yet difficult to grasp. How great and difficult it is! From eternity one hears the echoes of TAO.
As much as my vision attains, it does not become complete, as much as I look and my thoughts do not dissipate, it is before me. The Tao, empty yet self-sufficient, that which endures beyond measure, which endures beyond measure yet serves as a witness of all things, and so holds the cycle of life.
Tao was first. Its perfection is not the reason why the Tao is.
There is nothing in the world quite like Tao, it is very substantial, small, like ice and yet solid and lasting, and without end. From ancient time till now it can never be exhausted.
It is the being that is the beginning of everything. It is the origin of experience and perception.
Through it all things come into existence, the Way is it from which all things come.
The great man holds fast to Tao and regards everything as though it were nothing. Who could be so unassuming in holding to Tao and regards everything as though it were nothing? Who could be so insistent and determined? Who can know the nature of Tao so long as it is Tao? It is from Tao, the universal beginning that the myriad creatures came into being.
In the way things are, Tao began, the substance of all things, the ultimate source, through it everything is known, lived in, received and expressed.
From the very beginning it can be named no name.
No one who follows its Way can

When the Great Tao is great, as a DAO The DAO, as a thing seems incomplete, seems confused, seems voidBecause there is something thereThere seems to be something thereIt is unclear and there is substanceIn there lies the DAO's (the great way's) wonder and power.
When you realize the great, you can see the small. When you understand the great, you can see the small.
The sage who brings goodness to others and nourishes the land becomes. the All-Cleansing of the Way of the DAO. the Way of the DAO as DAO is. and the DAO as a thing. TAO is but the TAO of the TAO, the TAO as the TAO, the DAO, the DAO, the DAO. which is what TAO - so, TAO, the TAO, the DAO, the DAO. - is what the Great Thinker is. (ch'u shih). How can he know when TAO is Great, that is he so true? When TAO is great, is this not so.
The Way that can be described is not a regular way.
The Way that can be talked about is not a regular talk.
The Tao that is in the world is intangible, elusive, and unknowable.
It is only a thread in the fabric of the world.
It is the thread that makes the world.
The tao that can be made clear is not a constant Tao.
The tao that can be spoken about is not a constant talk.
The Tao that is in the world is intangible, elusive, and unknowable.
It is only a thread in the fabric of the world.
It is the thread that makes the world.
Therefore the tao that can be spoken of is not the eternal Tao.
The Tao that can be talked about is not the constant Tao.
The constant Tao is invisible to the senses.
It is the thread that connects the myriad things.
Therefore the Eternal Tao is on the level of the Infinity and the present moment.
Thus the Way that can be spoken of is not the Eternal Way.
The Eternal Way is elusive, yet comprehendable.
It is only the thread of manifestation in the world.
It is the thread that connects the myriad things.
Therefore the Eternal Way is on the level of the Infinity and the Present.
Thus, the Theosophical Way is timeless

If the Master follows the TaoHow can it be saidThat he's left no traces in the world? The Tao, without a name, is the way of the windsThe wind, a thing, may be described as still but cannot be definedWhat a thing, without a name, is the way of the TaoThe Tao, with a name, can be seen as moving through spaceSo nothing is ever entirely stillSo nothing is forever completely moving around in spaceThere are some things so small they cannot be seenYet each one is there at its centerAs is said,Where the Tao's truly bornThere lies the source of all thingsThere lies the source of faithThere lies the fountainhead of all desire
When the Masters obtained knowledge, they guarded it with the energy of their ancient virtue. Only a general virtue is called Tao. The Tao is the way of the wind and the way of the world. Yet the Tao is invisible. Without a name, it moves. Just because it is invisible, it cannot be described. And because it can not be described, it is itself the universal. Within the universe is the essence. There is the mother. It is the source of all. For that reason the Masters have always known Tao. They have always known the source of the world. They have always known the way of the god. They have always known the primeval essence. Without knowledge is ignorance. Without faith is faithlessness.
These things, who have eyes and ears but do not see, talk in their own ears, What is that? The coming of great virtue May seem now to be in harmony with the Tao. Yet when we look for clarity, we find it is blurred. Being invisible, so obscure, its essence cannot be found. When we contemplate what happens to the soul in heaven and earth, we see the form. But how is it possible that the shape of the body can remain when it is transformed? The harmony of things goes on but the union remains eternal. What is the wisdom in that?
The humble person looks at the world, and its effect is to penetrate the personal mind. It sees the Spirit in man, the Great Truth.
What does the humble person look at the world have to do with that?
The humble person loves the spirit in the world.
The Spirit in the world may be smiled at, or disparaged, or ridiculed, but it is the Spirit that makes man, and cannot be smiled at, ridiculed, ridiculed, or ridiculed.

When Tao reaches perfection, there is no visible sign,
When virtue becomes manifest, there is no clear image,
When images become manifest, there is no solid substance.
From this moment on, dao returns to its original form.
<|endoftext|>
When the Way is spoken of, there are few things in the world to contend with.
When great virtue is manifested, nothing in the world is unfailing to contend with.
When images become tangible, nothing is unfailing to contend with.
In dao there is no difference between what there is and what there can be.
Because there is no distinction, we can follow it without trouble.
Because there is no separation, we can see it without obstruction.
Dao never stretches itself too far; it cannot move far from the beginning.
Because it never stretches itself out too far, it never runs out of breath.
For this reason dao attained supreme Virtue within the very beginning.
<|endoftext|>
When it is said that Tao is the Way of all things, it would be a grave reckIf it was not the Way the world is.
When Tao is manifest in manifestation, how come there are none in the world to contend with?
If Dao is rendered in things, how come there are none in the world to contend with?
The relationship of Tao and Dao has no definite end;
To know that which is beyond it is to know that which is self-existent;
To know what is self-existent is to know the root of everything else.
It is only from knowing the root of everything else, the Tao of enlightenment, that we can comprehend its origin.
The world took its start from Tao,
Through which all things came to be.
From the commencement, the Tao was pure.

Tao mingles with the nameless. It is a full, true Dao that can be experienced.
If you are only a student of Tao, the past is blurred and the present is vague and intangible. The two aspects of Tao are similar, yet there is a depth of difference. The darkness is often tinged with light.
When the Great Thinker meets a reality, it is no more than a visual experience. It is even less real than the others. The people who are the greatest are not so great.
The Dao grows out of nothing. The Way is ever present. The Way and the Dao are nothing.
Tao mingles with the nameless. This is called the sacred virtue of Tao.
If you are a true student, what happens is a great mystery. What is great in my world does not extend its teaching to every part of its realm.
Since then, we see the great mysteries they are there only because it happened.
For the simple and outstanding life of a traveling Taoist, you do not fear its danger, for the great mystery that you will see with your own eyes, is hardly different from the mystical presence of your present reality.
The difference is a matter of interpretation.
The common man can only conceive a hundred kinds of difference.
For the purpose of understanding in other words the reason why the great soul by its existing is really great, it is only that the state-masses give the light and contrast of the great light to the great darkness.
The nature of light and darkness is like the differences of something dark and hidden.
The one what is dark and hidden also is the source of the other.
Neither the truth nor the idea can be distinguished.
Thus the understanding of the great soul - the true likeness of the universe- they that is, is only natural and cannot be emphasized.
The great soul has neither light nor darkness and yet has been formed from the muddy blood of its mud and the parental dust of the sacred waters.
The great room in the Great Empire is of a muddy mud, of a muddy mud-puddle. The external signs of the great empire are muddy mud. The muddy mud is the sacred child of the water. The sacred child is not different from its father and the significance of the mystery of life, is not different from that of all mysteries, is a recognition of their reality.
Let the great human being observe the mud of the world, the muddy mud, and

The Tao that can be expressed and named has no beginning. It appears as something beyond the limits of perception. It is not seen as something in the world.Without objective visible things, it has no visible appearance.I refer to it as the 'non-existence' in the world. When things lack certainty of existence, they cannot be considered to be non-existent.In times past, only such things were referred to as 'different' and 'descriptive.'But now, those names are no longer sufficient. Therefore, a description of the Tao in names is provided. The present and the past can be differentiated only through the present. The present can be distinguished by the future. In the present, the term 'twentieth' is no longer sufficient. Therefore, names are used. Together with the actual events of events that happen, the name 'Tao' comes into being. The name is the determinant of the substance of the Unconditioned. The continuous and constant The Tao (Tao) of all manifestations seems like a blurred echo that cannot be easily recognized. It seems to emerge from nowhere. The DAO was born of silence, where life and death have merged. Simplicity, beyond clarity, the fullest essence seems to be an illusion. The depth of mind is totally dark and muddy, it is surrounded by utter stranger realities. This diversity seems to be the essence of the universe, the entire universe in its entirety, existence is contained in the multiverse. Its thread is not threadless.
<|endoftext|>
Its origins were subtle, Which seemed to begin with nothing, Nothing that we can call "simple." Nothing that we can call "void," What seemed to begin alone, Nothing that we can call "supreme." Everything, which existed at one with the nameless Beginning,Has justly called itself something:In what is called the nameless Beginning is the next word,Sparse, confused, Trying to get a hold of nothing, Tempting, in a blur of unfathomable conceptions. Are we not also abiding in the blur of the imagina. The DEI seems empty; yet once more something is there. Pure white; yet there are images; Pure white; yet there are things; Soft and dark; yet there is a purpose. The reason for all the matters is beyond understanding. And so, the DAO, too, is beyond comprehension, Thus all we can do is to regard it as a bolt of invisible fire. The beginning of things, we can only view as the sky. The vastness of it, we only regard as the myriad creatures. The beginning of each of them is so deep, so insistent, so pure, so mysterious, so evasive. We only know this because the DAO governs it; through it we can know the beginning of all.

When the Ancient Thinkers of the Tao, The Way does not discriminate their belief in "through-out"; they maintain that reality, beyond mystery and beyond need, produces perfect harmony among all the myriad things. How it so profoundly accomplishes this is all-encompassing. The mysterious essence of the universe (the All-Seeing) is beyond that, dimly evident, but there are within; the marvelous things have been produced; these are called great images; dimly visible; but there is harmony; these things are so deep that there is no ground for anything; there is a way that leads them; from there, they are known to everyone. The highest Virtue is not to desire to be virtuous. If you can complete the Way and achieve perfection, the desire to be virtuous will disappear. The only virtuous act is following the Way. For those who do not master the Way, what do you think the desire to be virtuous will do?The path that has no destination is alluring. The way that leads inevitably is bright. The way that leads inevitably loses us is dark. When the body seeks fulfilment it must acquire a body. For being a natural child or human being, a body is like a nest.It grows and is filled, but yet no matter how many times you tie knots and weave your garment it cannot be un-loosed.When the body no longer seeks fulfilment it seeks what it must have. All things emerge from its seed. What nourishes the universe is its husk. The husk is the seed of the universe. The universe has no need for nourishment. It can therefore be known by what it has not yet known.

At the end of a lifetime, one feels free of all cares.Although tranquility is preserved,One feels at one with the Tao.It flows like the waters of the ocean, It is mild and easily confused. Its ambiguity gives it a name,It is called the Godly radiance. The mysterious innocence; Its purity; Its consistency; Its sharpness; Its placidity; Its disorderedness; Its ability to render,Its similarity to an image. It is vague, like a shadow, Like an illusion, Like a briar, Like a flower,Like a rock, Like water. It is quite empty, Like the ocean. It can be described as the mists of space.

The highest virtue in action, is stillness in motion. Therefore, one may correctly label it the One Nature. Yet, it is constantly in motion; All the time seeming to drift towards the Limitless. This subtle mystery is self-evident.Therefore, the great virtue invariably remains tranquil.Being thus tranquil, it is the most subtle. In this way, One-ness manifests itself in myriad ways.It seems to change endlessly, yet it is one with the Limitless. The multitude of ways appears to flow to a single perspective. It seems to be calm and serene, as though impenetrable. All this may be described as mysterious.Yet, the subtle mystery is within.

Tao is everything you know.It is beautiful, but nothing to be treasured. It is lost forever, yet it provides sustenance to the ten thousand things.Tao exists because it is hidden. When you see it, it is hidden. When you sense it, it is true. When you hold it, it is solid. When you take it, it is true. When you show it, it is true. When you move it, it is true. When you make it, it is true. When you take it, it is true. When you stop, it is true. When you fade away, it is true.Tao is the whole universe's source, but not its master. It gives life, but not itself. It creates, but not itself. It creates but not justifies. It justifies by showing others to be right.Yet it does not argue with the world.Tao never fails and never denies the existence of the universe.

The noble Way, If constantly used, In spite of difficulty, Will attain to its end.If constantly used, It is limited. Its use is limited only because no action of its own is necessary. What is limited is only that which it is constrained from interfering with the rest of the universe. What is limited is only that which its action must produce. What it produces is not imperfect, as it may appear. What it produces is imperfect, only because it is inexhaustible. Not inexhaustible, as is apparent, only because

The great Tao gives all life energy, and nothing is left to be obtained. All things in the universe are formed out of dust, vegetation, and roots. This dust and vegetation are illusive, and from them the root is formed. In the Way, all things have a beginning, and all things have an end. In the Tao, everything is hidden, hidden and entire. In it there are no extremes. This complete openness gives everything life force.

All things are made of dust and uncarved wood. The earth is made of dust and uncarved wood. All beings are born of dirt and grass. Even so, there is no heaven or earth that can give birth.

The Universe, created through Natural Law, is so flexible and vast.
When a relationship is built up and nurtured,
As the will, intellect and body can live and grow into complete relationships,
the work of the universe becomes easier and easier.
When we talk about natural law, we're using definitions that can't help but evoke complicated responses.
Human beings used to look for patterns in nature.
Now they use tools and terminology that give us grief.
Then they look for the more commonality in how nature works.
Nature, through acting to act and giving rise to everything,
Is able to do so while having no flaws.
It is there, there, yet still doing what it has been doing,
Since the beginning, it has been.

The great mystery is centered in the Way; but its limits are
revealed in the world: All things of a kind are born of life, But the Earth itself is alive without vitality.
Each of the world's myriad creatures was born of life, And the life of the Earth was born of death.
Aspects of the great mystery are found in the world, But there are also its manifestations.
The myriad creatures have lives of their own, So do the Earth's manifestations.
I want to describe a great subtler origin, But I fear what people will think I've got the answers,
Why do I try to describe it so? It's a great mystery.

They can do things, but do they really accomplish anything?
They seem to know what will happen, but they are unconscious of it.

The collective is the origin of the multitude of things.

It arises spontaneously from without.
It expresses itself in the form of things.
It is that which produces everything.
It is the vital source of all and nothingness.
The vastness of the form of things emerges from within the immanence of form.
The non-existent is the origin of the real and the ultimate development of the myriad things.
That which is nameless is the kernel of all being.
That which is real

By watching over the results of their actions in the past and taking precedence over the results of their actions in the present. Is this the same as "the past is the origin of the present"? Yes. Yes, the leaders are not wronged.

Inasmuch as in all situations of trust and trustworthiness people deal with others by their consent and with no pressure or intimidation, the light and brightness of the Tao gradually dawn. And the energy of life and harmony gradually become less and less, until it becomes quiet and still. And then begins this process of following the Tao:When you have no face or speech,No speech or images. When there is no official business to attend to,You are left with the simple essentials:Water, food, shelter. The words "general welfare" and "general profit" become meaningless. And then you see just how abundant is all these things:There is not a hole in the world.Everyone is perfectly well off.How much more glorious is the end when the Tao is carried into the world. When the Tao is carried into the world,There is no turning back.

A man of higher integrity looks at the Tao,
Yet no one can see through him.
He is hidden, of course, but he is profound.
The "heavenly way"
Is well hidden
Yet we can be fairly understood by its substance.
What is the substance of the Tao?
See what it is like, then.
It is dark, nebulous, yet it contains within itself beauty.
Do you see how things emerge from this?
In time and space, they emerge.
Density, again, their manifestations.
Within this there are boundaries, again, boundaries.
Not the "natural" order, nor the way of the fish.
Within the natural order, there are states.
Within the states, there are relationships.
Beyond nature and beyond the universe, there is the humanity, the destiny.
Who is a human being, at the center of that?
To the natural way has become the center.
To the natural way is the destiny.
To the destiny, is the universe.
From the beginning to the end, that is where the words of the world lie.
They have been:
He who holds the natural way, seeks refuge within it
He who holds the human way, seeks refuge within his senses
He who holds the outer world, seeks refuge within that which is within
Who is beyond the world, seeks refuge within what is within.
Hence, he may say:
The Tao that has no name is the beginning of all Tao
The Tao that has a name is the fruit of all things

The followers of Tao are like waters that come up and down.Through their actions, the action becomes lasting. In not dwelling in wisdom, they leave themselves without any conflicts.Although they are lumps of mud and dirt, they are hard to leave. They have a deep seatedness that was only opened by the beginning of Infinity. They are like oceanic rivers that flow towards Infinity.Their depths have always been there, but their waters always stayed with Infinity.Hence they are called invisible.Hidden is the awareness that they are there.Though it has been perceived by many,it has not been seen.Hence, they have a depth. They have an essence. It has a surface, and a rhythm. And this is the origin of all things. The reason why the Infinity is the reason for the countless beings to be, is because the being is that which is all there is.Because it is all there is, it is beyond the depth, and the obscurity, and the transparency, and the simplicity. It is that which can be grasped,And that which can be moved,And the ground of all oneness.Because the entire being was forged by the common ancestor,It is the foundation of all oneness. So it is that the manifestation of the original has come to be regarded as the true nature of existence.Because the universe is infinite, it has been given the ability to do so.When one returns to its original roots, he will not be confused by any imperfection.

Te, the eternal Way, by itself, is the road to everything. The Te, the Eternal Way, is the Way of all Te. If the way in itself were not Eternal, then it would be empty. If the Tao were empty, how could we have the Tao? If we are at all like Tao, then we must be complete and at the same time full. If we are empty we must be full. If we are like Te, then we must be in an indifferent way. If we are like Te, then we must be in action, and if we are like action, then we must be receptive. If we are like Te, then we must be conscious and so have intelligence. If we are like Te, then we must be like the Universe. If we are like the Universe, then we should follow the Way. There is a Te (Yang) of eternal oneness that cannot be attained,
Can only be indicated.
The Eternal appears to be like a lake,
The Eternal is bright and clear,
But beyond doubt always dark and concealing.
Hence, the Emperor is a light-hearted man of profound understanding,
And wise as a fish in the depths of the river.
The Emperor is subtle, yet eternally simple.
His speech is always clear and his point of view direct.
He may be called an ocean of silence, deep and expansive,
Beyond the measure of most perception.
So we look and cannot see.
So we hear but cannot hear.
Thus we talk but cannot answer.
The Tao - Eternal Tao is dim, and to describe it requires a description.
In the past it was called the Infinite Spirit (Yang).
In the present it is called the Formless.
The subtlety is lost;
the cleverness remains.
The gate of the Unknowable cannot be closed,
But only opened by Tao,
It is the source of the signs,
Unceasing to see the beginning of the universe.

The Te is eternal and inexhaustible.
The Un-Te is also eternal and inexhaustible,
It is able to be expressed in things (People).
This Te can be defined as a "fathomless space."
This Te is undefined, obscure, and abstract;
It is void and unyielding;
Without beginning, it is unlimited.
Being without form, it is a "space,"
Ornaments, or shapes.
It is a space without limit,
And without beginning it is the source of infinity.
In the past it was called the Vast Transept.
In the present it is the Formless.
Its form can be discerned;
Its image can be produced;
Its shape can be formed;
Its form can be preserved;
It can be opened;
And it can be closed.
Hence, the Un-Form can be named.
The Un-Fathomless can be named.
The Formless can be named.
The Form can be named.

It can be straightened

The genuineest virtues are differentiated by the Tao.
The great virtue follows the virtue of the Tao, but is hardly aware of its existence.
It is a quality of Tao, and not aware of its existence, its value cannot be expressed.
This is called virtue that possesses no essence, and is thus no advantage to the person who does not make the inferior benefit the superior.
To the truly great man the Tao gives life, and takes the form of his action.
The Tao has no form. It is empty, which is all that there is.
Only when no-thing remains, is there existence.
So when the virtues are possessed, they are precisely for the benefit of people.
Therefore the great man values those virtuous qualities, and keeps them to himself.
When he is possessed of them, he becomes capable of preserving virtue for the people.
This is called, acting only for the benefit of the people.
Therefore it is not right to value virtue only for the benefit of the people.
Since it is not right to value virtue only for the benefit of the people, it is recommended that virtue is preserved by the master.

Truth and falsehood converge in the natural. Where the left and right meet, two curves meet each other. By knowing these, one can observe the reason of Heaven's forms and forces.

By choosing the auspicious as the background to one's ethereal vision, what is called the path of appearance is illuminated.

The purpose of the world is not what the world wants. It is necessary to embrace the infinite, and bring forth something beyond what is seen.
The way of Tao is what exists outside of desire.Without desire it is like a vast ocean, But even the most hungry cannot see its depths.
In understanding the origins of things, look inside oneself.

Way, Way, in nature is a constant constant,
Fathomless beyond belief.
Distant, far-off, it is the channel of heaven and earth.
The white and the dark converge in a single image,
It is the beginning of Creation.
The Tao is the Way, the Way is white.
Fathomless beyond belief,
Reaching far-reaching, it is the road to every wonder.
The Way and white endure forever.
The Way and black endure forever.
The Way is the ultimate absolute,
And limitless and self-existent.
So it is always true and true and true.

Front! Forefront!
Front! Forefront!
Way is on its left.
Goodness is on its right.
Dim wonder extends itself
From the Eternal Monad beyond change.
That Eternal Monad is the Source of all Things
And the image of the Eternal Mind.
Its function is permanent, continuous,
The Way is the Way, from which can be discerned the ultimate truth.

Tao in its ineffable purity reveals the mystery of existence.
Truth in its earthly form reveals the simplicity and truth of the world.
Those who are endowed with Tao in their hearts are the creatures of the Tao.
We can call that "obscuring whiteness" the path to enlightenment.
We can call that "distant goodness" the path to distant infinity.
We can call that "noble wonder" the path to the infinite wonder.
We can call that "the Way" the universal way, the way of all things and men.
Thus can we treasure the past and hold to the future, because they are the unfolding of the deep truth, the supreme point of reference.

When speaking of the myriad things,Heaven and Earth alone can be considered great. The tao in the universe is still: blank, unbroken. Yet it has a whole series of descriptions of it:In the primal beginning it was dark, while now it is bright. In heaven and earth it is still, while in the collective reality it is growing up, so also in being. It is the space, the timelessness, that is crucial to its development. Thus, the leading square (the Teh) is following the tao.Like the tao, the tao is always there.

It is the beginning of heaven and earth. The origin of a sacred thing of the Tao. And, is the "indefinite primeval darkness" of Tao.The first in all the world, it is so abstracted and brilliant, as it vanished with the light. So a square has to walk the primeval way of Tao.Yes, when the square has to go ahead of Tao, it can be in the image of Tao.Yes, when the tao is always ahead of the tao, it can also be in the shape of the Tao.It is the "originating" square that is the Tao.So Tao is always ahead of it.

The whole of creation is at rest in Dao (the Absolute);Yet, it is just like a dream, an ideal. It is beyond perception, but within awareness. It is so obscure and vague that nothing can describe it.It has become so myriad that it is unrecognizable. But as it fades from sight,I can still recognize its shape:The square has to walk the path of Dao;If it does, there can be no mistake.Dao is forever, while as it is fade from sight; The squares must be the best models for Dao.The Daoist can observe it, but it cannot see it.
<|endoftext|>
The DAO throughout its existence is not settled in the Way, therefore we can say that it is the Way.The Way as it is dim and indistinct, is so profound, That only a man of action will be able to know its depth.Such a being is like darkness; uni-perpetual, unknowable. Like the cave of Dao, so will its form, and therein is its eternal character.

It is a mind to think. It is a culture to think about it.Beginning from the beginning till now,There has been no end to it.From ancient times till now, we observe what its Nature is;How do we know its nature?

The image of the great should be hidden, so that the humble can possess it.It is the invisible that makes a house a hall, the invisible that makes a valley a channel, the invisible that makes a state a kingdom.Tao is always invisible. He who holds it does not see it.The Tao is never forgotten, but the results endure. He who understands it does not try to improve it.Tao can only be realized through the doing. The Tao is not blind and abstract, it is the invisible. It is hidden, but it has the virtue

A great Master does not resort to frivolities, but acts like a great Teacher.
For there is nothing less sublime, like losing a vessel with regard to a vessel without a master, as though one were to go out among the unbearded men of old and carry on without knowing the places to which they were directed.
A great Master eschews All; and yet, in taking nothing from anyone, makes all men his assistant.
Hence, in forsaking All, he becomes our friend; and in not giving away his assistant, becomes our brother.
He thus possesses the essence of Heaven; without knowledge, we may learn it; without act, we may act for him.

The highest virtue is formless.
If you leave a rule-file in one's possession
Do not linger with it.
Do not give it to others,
Yet your actions will benefit others.
Give no things to satisfy your longing.
Let yourself be reborn in non-being.
Non-being is the doorway to the primordial.
The primordial can be known, but the door will be open.
The highest virtue is natural, natural virtue is knowing.
Knowing is Tao.
Tao cannot be known, nor is it possible to know it.
<|endoftext|>
Achieve perfection without striving.
Constantly refrain from desires.
Underestake possessions and gain from them.
Honor ones with not forsaking,
Being true to oneself
Then one can be true to all.
The word "master" and "brother"
can be identified with Tao (the Source and The Laws).
Tao cannot be named; therefore
it cannot be identified.
Therefore, we can know it by it.
<|endoftext|>
The highest virtue is "vanishing."
By "vanishing" one does not possess it,
and therefore it is respected.
By "not possessing it" one acquires it,
and it is esteemed.
By "not being good at possessing it" one receives it,
and it is esteemed.
By "not being able to play it as one is played"
one receives it.
This is Tao's beginning:
Tao is not named, so we know
how it comes about,
how it is established,
and how it is tested,
how it

The best virtue is to abandon the good for the mediocre. The nimblest virtue is to abandon the mediocre for the most excellent. The nimblest art is to abandon the finest for the ugliest. The greatest virtue is to abandon what is what is great. This is the way of Tao.It is natural. It is without ideas or perception. It has no name.It is not perceived by anyone. Thus it has the unity of the great and the small, the noble and the common. It is not divided into degrees, and it is equal to the imperfection of all things. Its constant is not partiality, and it gives to everything what it needs.
<|endoftext|>
The highest virtue is to be indifferent to the good. The worst virtue is to accept the good as good. The weakest virtue is to be indifferent to the good. The finest virtue is to be indifferent to the good. The greatest virtue is to be indifferent to the good.Tao is one incomprehensible mystery. How unreflective is it!How penetrating! How subtle! Is it not the source of all virtue?Be patient.Do not act.The way of Tao is fast,And never ventures to move.
<|endoftext|>
Therefore those who are most virtuous are those to discard the good, those to diminish the good, and those who give up the good to the best, for both these are good. Those who are most ingenious people abandon the good, while those who develop the greatest ability abandon the best. The finest men, however, do not believe in the goodness, and forsake the good because they cannot accept the goodness. The Way of Nature does not discriminate, and being without intention, cannot be sought. It is said to be common in nature and the uncountable. It endures, and is inexhaustible. But the mean things are discarded, for they are overcome by things that are well developed.Tao, then, having no form, cannot be called Tao, nor can its name be given a name.Being imperfect, and unfathomable, its name is always used.
<|endoftext|>

To follow the Tao is to return to simplicity.
To be thus restrained, is to control Nature.
It is in completing Nature's subtleties that the true power of the Tao appears.
Nature is a series of mysterious angles, and within each is hidden the earliest beginnings of Reason.
Thus the wise person, once in meditation, has no need to scrutinize what is happening inside her.
She can see the substance of Truth, though that may be obscure.
But she sees all it reveals.
The subtlety of Truth is hidden. Yet it is all-embracing.
Only the simple has the power to grasp, though imperfectly, and be fully realized.
Thus, the Tao is truly one, and must be comprehended only in the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
To follow the Way is to return to 'lowness.'
Lowness is when one realizes a part of the Way, and then returns to the substance of the Way.
Being aware of the Way is practicing a part of the Way.
So one can become aware of the subtle in the ways of Nature,
and thereby experience the significance of it.
The true nature of Nature is subtle and profound.
Though it may be abstract, it is yet nonetheless true.
It is the life force of Nature.
A true person embraces it.
Others embrace it differently.
Some embrace it and are content,
Some embrace it and lose it,
Some embrace it and end up with it.
Others embrace it and blow it out.
Others embrace it and blow it out.
Others embrace it and blow it out.
Others embrace it and blow it out.
Others embrace it and blow it out.

The Great Father follows the Tao
In a dark corner.
The heart of darkness follows the Tao
In knowing it seems thin.
In knowledge it seems plentiful.
The heart of darkness seems to learn,
Yet it cannot learn.
The heart of Tao seems to thin, Yet it has not become thin.
The Tao seems to thin, Yet it may be preserved.
The heart of Tao seems to be shallow, Yet it may be preserved.

Wu Li was in the Tao,
Tao is profound.
All the myriad things are too dark.
<|endoftext|>
The supreme Thinker came into existence from Tao and that is where the essence of Tao lies.
There is nothing darker than the dark and the Tao cannot be diminished to depths, the dark and the Tao is the source of everything.
All things, before they started to exist, found Tao.
There is nothing more original than Tao, the source of everything.
All things, before they appeared in their marvelous state in the form of Te,
found Te.
There is nothing more genuine than Te, the source of everything.
It is in this that Tao reveals itself:
The formless Tao reveal itself,
The shapeless Te reveal itself,
The formless Te reveal itself,
The formless Tao is hidden, hidden.
All these things are form,
The shape, the image,
The form, the image,
The form, the image,
The form, the image,
It is hidden and it is hidden to the full.
The center is the truth.

Tao is great, and that is why it is so profound. It does not show itself to the eyes, but has the look of being hidden. But it appears dim, dim. It does not endure in the outer world, but may yet be a kingdom. Because it is shapeless and ever-changing, it seems most like the ugliness of men. Because it cannot be looked for, it is also the hidden and hidden.
The truly great leader, one who follows Tao, is truly great.
He leaves all, all visible, all absolute. This one does not delight in what is beautiful, he only delights in what is real. He delights in peace, and seeks the ease of Tao. He has a body

The highest virtue is lost in that which is
artificial.
The easiest way to get this virtue is to ignore it.
The highest wisdom is lost in that which is
subtle.
The use of the subtlety in this life is beyond
reason.
The only thing that can learn from it is
kindness and love.
The humble is what the highest virtue is
to
the unrefined simplicity.
The simplest is what is the highest virtue.
The ultimate Way is not without form.
Therefore even those who can see it have not seen it
and therefore cannot see
it.

The highest virtue is something forgotten: That by which the highest virtue is gained. To gain it is this: to let it pass. To let it pass is this: to rediscover. To rediscover is to know.

It is through [the virtue of] the Tao which gives the highest power of growth.
He who despairs in that [the virtue of] the Tao may get it, will get but what is hardly to be trusted.
It is through this one who despairs that it gains.
And so it will be: some will learn and others fail.
There will be growth in the being of man, but [the virtue of] the Tao will never be a thing to be found.
It comes from non-being.
It is from this non-being that the work of the Tao is so effective.
That being something nothing can know what he learns not.
<|endoftext|>
From the virtue of the Tao is obtained the highest virtue, and that of Tao is obtained by not-exaltation, thereby Virtue.
How then the highest virtue is obtained? By the artlessness of existing! How much the unselfishness and benevolence is obtained by this! Thus there is wisdom (the Way) in all things.
Hence he who would obtain [The Tao] is not deceived by things to come, and yet he is free of those which are not (to be)!

Good is to be followed by that which has no name.Hence, it comes forth from nothing.
To know it is to love and care for it; therefore it has no name.
Nameless it reverts back to nothing.
Not reverts to nothing it yields and brings forth all things to a perfect state.
Who knoweth this reverts to the Tao and, being in accord with the Tao, stands before all things.
He who therefore knows the Tao stands before the world.
Thus he knoweth the universal Tao and stands before the world.
He who does not know the Tao is wise and sits before all things.
He knows the universal Tao and stands before the world.
Who does not know the Tao is foolish and cannot stand before the world.
He who stands above all things stands upon the Tao.
Hence, he who does not know the Tao is of no value and cannot stand before the world.
He who stands above all things stands upon the Tao.
Thus he stands above the world.
Truly, this is the namelessness of the Tao.
He who knows the Tao stands before all things and is regarded as enlightened.
He who does not know the Tao cannot be truly enlightened.
Hence, he may stand before all things and be regarded as a sage.
The truly wise recognize the trinity of the Tao.
They are not thus.
These are the beginnings of serenity and holiness.
Hence, he who regards this trinity of serenity and holiness is esteemed as eminent.
He who does not regard it is not so eminent.
Therefore, he may be esteemed as a Prince.
From this time forward he is the leader of the multitude.
Thus he may be distinguished.
Through this point of view we call it man's righteousness,
Failing man's righteousness, and therefore he is esteemed as one with God.
Thus one stands above all others and finds the Father.
As we say, he is esteemed as the Prince in Heaven.
He also stands above the world.
This is a meritorious measure.
He is truly right.
Thus he is deemed worthy of Great Virtue.

To love it is to care for it.

After the rise of Heaven and Earth, the Tao never faded from being, attaining perfection in the end.
Therefore it is able to make men rise,
and it stays the example for them: it does not form into name, and it doesn't take on its forms.
It is invisible, and yet it has a form.
It is subtle and mysterious, and yet it has form.
The Tao is hidden, and yet it is able to be known.

In order to rule over the world, the "True" becomes active in an unchanging manner. The Tao is constantly and naturally in motion. Without taking actions, it can do the things all mankind would want to do. But the Way is so subtle and hidden that its absence is perceived by all, for all sense is so blurred. The manifestations of the Tao are hidden and so brief, yet the result of long thought. It could be compared to the Invisible Being, and thus to the Way. The Mystery of the Way is like a valley of endless water, its depth so invisible that all perception is made in this valley.

but to be known and to be lived.

It is only to live in the Tao as the center that matters. How much better it is to be hidden from the world. A person is naturally thus. To be with the Tao-Tehereof is the most sincere, easy to understand, most genuine. To live with Tao-Being is to feel love to the whole world. Love of the whole world is to know the mysteries of Infinity. This is something much more glorious than I can see. I can barely understand the secrets of the Tao.
