Precious Yin is lost; all other yin becomes white.
Common sense is faded; [Precious yin, detached, becomes white,
Common sense's jade turns white.]
See all things as they are, and you will see no evidence of virtue.
Everyone is equally deceived,
and misery exists.
Knowing this, let go of your ideas of right and wrong;
let them not be part of your world.
The sage is impartial; [The sage makes no distinctions between the good and the good, nor between good and bad;]
Understanding the life of the individual, he forgets self-interest.
His heart is filled with compassion.
He treats people equally;
there is no distinction of merit.

We all know how great is the white and pure essence.
Everyone knows how rare is the white in
ordinary.
Who knows how rare is the pure essence,
what uses this essence, how,
is it not clear?
Seeing with clear eyes, there is nothing to perceive,
just look with someone else;
only still look.
What is there in the whole world, the good man with good deeds;
what evil deed men with good deeds;
when people no longer need to do good and bad deeds,
nothing evil occurs.

The beloved essence is lost.
The lesser wholeness becomes bright.
The unworthy become worth.
The above-discernible comes into view.
Everyone has a doctrine.
Man-kind will differ.
It does not matter, it does not matter.
One who knows, knows nothing.
She does not understand, so one does not know.
The one who knows, knows the system.
The world as it is is not ruled by him.
All that follows, what is done, is new.
And one knows it is not his place, he does not know.
It is not his place, he does know.
The world is without man.
He knows that what is external is not of man.
His heart is full of love and acceptance.
He gets on with things

In using one's eyes to follow the life of the universe, one finds that, though the world is going forward as if fed and clothed, with clothes and sustenance, there is the specter of ennui and even misery. From man's most original days forward, man has been of two minds about what is comfortable and what is light. From man's parents' times until now, all culture and experience have been that of hindering the mammon of the world. The content of this second mind of the human mind is thus not to be blamed: it is merely this:
It is true that a people may prosper in the midst of turmoil, but still the good will be lost to them. This is not the spirit of the true people.

If you live in emptiness, you will become known. If you make no effort to improve yourself, you will become enlightened. If you show few examples, no one notices you. If you say nothing, there is nothing left to say. If you feel as though you have no other place to go, no one will be able to tell where you belong. If you think of yourself as people, the world will see that you are merely your Master. No matter how much you try to clarify or set things right, there will always be something left undone. The Inner Life has a life of its own. When you step back and look, you see it all the same. This Inner Life is all-embracing, all-knowable. It is inexhaustible. As you are not worried about your own Inner Life, you can concentrate on the Inner Life. This Inner Life cannot be stressed, because it is the great Secret, hidden in the obscurity. If you stay aware of it, the Inner Life can be seen as a beautiful pattern. Nothing can distinguish you from the beautiful patterns.

When tao is exhausted, there are humans.
When humans have declined, there are righteousness.
When righteousness has declined, there are people.
When humanity declines, there are simplicity (tsunyi).
When simplicity is diminished, there are filial piety (hsia).
When filial piety and parental love are absent, there is constant loyalty.
When the world turns against absolute law, there are teachers.
Tao produces and empties the world,
And creates people who know the way of Tao.
Those who know the way of Tao are able to lead a good life.
In the future, there will be no darkness, no confusion, no violence, no feuds.
Then the people will have genuine loyalty, and there will be a home for their children.

When the Dao's exhaustion is complete, the greatest of all things
will possess human inclinations. When humanity's inclinations have faded,
the lesser of them will possess them.
When the lesser of the two is deserted by filial piety,
loyal devotion, the natural parental instinct and so on,
always there is a worthy and loyal follow-up.
When the world becomes polluted by "righteous" religion,
the parental instinct will no longer be properly rewarded.
The same with "rightness"
in religion: People will no longer be well-cared for
And will therefore no longer be well-liked.
When benevolence is absent and filial piety is seen only as a flashy public ceremony,
Weakened filial piety is inflicted.
Eventually, the filial piety will degenerate and be replaced by loyalty and parental love
When a nation shrinks from the mysterious Way,

The great Tao becomes naught, and becomes nothing. The great virtue is quiescent and inactive. The great intelligence is ageless and therefore serves all men equally. The great natural law is eternal, yet has no beginning. The great group (ch'ang) is nonexistent, yet men of good conscience desire it. The six ways of manifestation are so vague that none of them can be truly distinguished. There is nothing natural (chih) and exemplary (chi). There is something common (ch'eng) but in no way natural (chi). There is something glorious (chih) and dignified (ch'in), yet nothing (si) can be exemplified (ch'iang). There is still something underdeveloped (hui), and nothing (wei) can be conditioned (ch'in). Is there a thread of the great (ch'an) to lay the beginning of Heaven and Earth? Indeed, in a yes, yet again, no.

The great Tao is nought, and nothing, cannot touch it. The great kindness is easy to have, and hard to keep. Great sagaciousness is invisible, and cannot be measured. Great intellection is ineffable, and cannot be mastered. Great relations are nebulous, and cannot be defined. Great knowledge is elusive, and cannot be examined. The great group is as empty as a valley, and cannot be found. The great ruler is as remote as Heaven and Earth. And since Tao is no longer the Tao, nothing is left undone.

When a country is far removed from the Great Way,
There is benevolence (wei) and benevolence (wei).
Knowing that humanity and righteousness (hai) have no place in humanity and righteousness (hai),

A nation that has strayed far from the Way will then be lost in darkness.
The great Way is the fertile valley (chih).

The ancient Tao has the virtue of sincerity and sincerity is the virtue of humanity. We can see what is mysterious and mysterious, then we can realize our simplicity. -Enlightenment lies in the ability to see light and darkness; and there is the ability to understand harmony and darkness, and to show each other the light. Seeing in order to know, seeing again to know. Seeing and knowing and again to know. This is the essence of enlightenment. Humanity and nobility and kindness and justice are not enough for true humanity. In order to truly understand people we must also understand their darknesses. Humanity and nobility and kindness and justice are not enough for true nobility. To truly understand the way is not enough for true enlightenment. Yet simplicity and stillness give one freedom of action. To know the truth is to master the way. The path of the ancient Tao is a vast valley of dark, we know it for the very existence, yet do not strive to learn it. We love simplicity and simplicity is the womb of freedom. The mind of the new man is an ancient, dead valley. What is new is rooted in what has already been. If we could see that the greatest truth lies in the foundation of the least, and the heart of the greatest action lies in the simplicity of the smallest, we could yet consider ourselves enlightened. Such simplicity creates what is most true, is more subtle and mysterious than the brightest fancy. To know that to be truly enlightened is to have embraced reality. To know the basic truth is enlightenment.Being merely human is not enlightenment.Being just, but not demanding is enlightenment. To know that to be truly enlightened is to have been born of eternity is to be an example to the world.Humanity is not the foundation of Tao.To know that to be truly enlightened is to have been born of eternity is to be an example for the world.

A good leader is free from good taste
Because, like a hen who rules her flock from above,
she treats it as an afterthought.
The leader treats his ox or horse
As a helper or vassal
And doesn't show it off.
The people seem to regard him as their king,
And not as their helper.
Why should the leader have no dulcet taste?
It is best for him not to think of it as he does it.
The leading man forgets his tone.
The follower forgets his form.
The leader forgets that he himself may be feebly exciting.
The followers forget that he may be feebly excited.
Because the leader makes up for his weakness,
He is deficient.
He forgets that the best will win the argument.
Because the leader forgets that the best won the argument,
Those who feel foolish take pleasure in the foolhardiness.
The foolhardiness makes the fool become the fool.
Therefore, those who feebly look for the peace and quiet of humility,
Of true simplicity, are betrayed by those who have feebly sought for enlightenment and cleverness.

A government without faith is like one that has no left hand; and an army without discipline is like one that has no right hand.
Thus the reckless men are in the empire; and the strong men are in the house; and these are the causes of great disorders. When the country has lost faith in itself, it is like when it loses the right hand; and the world is moved into alarm when its left hand, like that of an infant, is pressed to the breast of an emperor.
Thus people argue about loyalty; and how great is the peril they cause by being stirred up by agitations. And are there such things as great imperturbability, in that when different are put in opposition?
Can there be a nation in which one side is strong and the other weak, and in which one side benefits while the other suffers?
Is it possible to keep in balance two the ten thousand things of the world? When both of them have lost faith in themselves; and when both of them have lost faith in their own views, the latter will seize upon great mischievousness as a refuge, like the aftermath of a storm.

The Worthy Man always has a deep and generous heart. The sweetest things are always in abundance. The wise man knows the untaught man. The sage is like the marquise. The marquise is then an outpost for the Worthy Man. The Wise Man doesn't care how he acts as long as he does what is right. With intelligence and experience the marquises are always among men with good terms and moral character. In the world as today, marquises are as honored as the gates of heaven. They appear gold and white. The glorious dust of the oneness, it is as if it came from the Dao, it is the King's sweetmeats, the Mother's milk, the gift that all are to give. In the world as now, the marquises appear far above the common people. Yet these marquises appear like the doors of heaven, and the heavens, too. They are beautiful, and very human. How beautiful! The reason the people look up to them is because they do what the people do, and then they do it.

The lower course of a man's actions
Was regarded as his natural, natural course.
Now, the natural course is ever followed.

Existence is one whole without being divided, never blemish, unhealed.
The way is nameless, within this namelessness, is the presence of everything.
The Way is unassuming and without effort, ever-changing and unchanging.
<|endoftext|>
I am a block without a base.
I am free from worries and is whole without self-scarcity.
I am as though I did not separate and all things exist.
I am an empty void.
Without external support I alone breathe.
I am always calm and simple without arrogance.
Without desire and pride, I lead by example and nothing is left undone.
I am like the leader of the lost child.
The bottom of the earth may be lost but I alone hold on to what is eternal.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth are one whole.
Heaven alone and without limitation,
is the force of existence.
What is a force of existence,
can be replaced,
however,
without external restraint,
as though content with nothing.
Can I be content with nothing?
Does this not mean:
To bear the misfortune of having
the will to act?
Therefore, if something is withdrawn
from it,
it can be re-established.
This is called its Being-of-What-is-Existent.
That is why it is said:
"Heaven and earth are one whole."
<|endoftext|>
When a thing was born,
It had its mother.
As for Heaven and Earth,
the two are not divorced.
Neither separation can be made to fulfill the task.
And so they are one and the same,
At the center of the universe.
All things can become something,
As though by fusing with each other,
they become something whole and free.
The universe appears small and insignificant.
As though there were nothing but a very small center.
In that case,
It would have no need of a lord.
So, it also seems innocent and lowly.
But, being one with the universe,
It is

One who accomplishes great deeds receives praise for them. Who accomplishes great acts is praised. One who accomplishes great deeds does not try to achieve them, but succeeds.
Being great means that greatness does not last; Being great means that greatness is not complete. Being great means one must be great.
When a group of people fail to notice what is right and what is wrong in each other, they grow confused and can't find a genuine relationship. When one person's morality and morality is replaced with another's trust and devotion, there is no problem. When one person's group of people are disrespected, the leader must value them. When one person is treated as a piece of work and another as a being, another must do as well. When a society functions according to universal truth, these values do not control. When there is confusion and revolution in the society, a leader should step in.
<|endoftext|>
Who accomplishes great deeds Receives praises for them. Who accomplishes great deeds Is not partial, but is inexpressible. Who accomplishes great deeds Has no beginning, but has a end. Who accomplishes great deedsIs constantly Onward; They are constantly Onward. When a group of people have no respect for each other,And confusion and discord occur among them,The sage Leader must respect them. When group of people are despised, The leader must honor them. When group of people go against the way, The leader must value them.
<|endoftext|>
One who achieves great deeds benefits those who follow him. One who accomplishes great deeds receives no criticism. He receives no criticism because he achieves greatness without merit. He has greatness without merit because greatness brings a thoroughgoing satisfaction. The satisfaction that comes from the nature of the perfectness is not sufficient to satisfy all people. To satisfy all people, only perfection and not necessarily perfection, and not necessarily perfection, and not necessarily perfection, and not necessarily perfection is what matters. By acting in accord with the natural law, those who have come of their own accord can do what they do, and those who are not able can work around them.
<|endoftext|>
If you accomplish great deeds, those who benefit from your deeds are also praised. If you accomplish great deeds, they are praised because they are perfections. If you accomplish great deeds, you have no beginning

When love and kindness lost favor
Granted authority by ordering
It can go wrong.
The Tao does not assert itself,
To serve the prideful principle,
To destroy it, to gain it,
Of late, in the past,
Can it be called ill?
Indeed, it has no cancer.
The fruit of the left hand,
In the valleys of heaven
So that some come, yea, sometime visit,
Yet some rise up in their arms,
Defeated, but alive.
Frolic in the realm of the sun,
Those who know what it is to love,
And when the rest give to the purpose,
To give to the purpose,
But to receive only the good-will.
Love will not be 'unbroken' by a callous leader,
Or a false saint,
Or the shrill blasphemy of atheist men,
For such things produce only destruction, not fulfillment.

One who has desire as his root from the very beginning becomes nameless;
For he takes it for his root, and nourishes it.
If he does not do so,
It would be a misfortune for him.
One who has kindness as his root from the very beginning becomes philanthropic;
He does not show favouritism.
If he does not show favouritism,
It would be a misfortune for him.
One who takes the jingguo (bird's wing) as his root from the very beginning becomes lofty;
If he does not set himself high, he is liable to fall;
One who carries it as his root from the very beginning becomes discerning;
If he does not set himself discerning, it would be a calamity for him.
Therefore, he who disdains original virtue (good deeds)
Will lose it.
The crooked (way) leads to disgrace,
the different (manifest) goodness leads to humiliation.
He who does not see the original truth (Tao)
Will be plunged in great wrong.
The Tao (the way) is not wise (benevolence),
so a fool cannot be trusted.
Achieving Tao without acting out of that Virtue and goodness,
Is like practicing stupidity (not acting out of the Tao).

That is how empires come and go and what matters they
Are the people and not the leadership.
Of course, leaders are also people
And so the pursuit of force or politics
Is to a great degree those.

Others must do the same:
In order to embrace this time
Folks should let themselves go.
Just to be absent
Will not last long.

If he has not been called his people's governor for a long time, then he will not be able to govern them. 4. If he has not experienced the true beauty of mother Earth, then he will not be able to take the whole land. 5. If he lacks compassion for the differences within his people, then he will not be able to establish harmony between people. 6. If he has no honour for his leader, then he will not be able to rule all people.

When there is no desire to see clearly,
the people will be without a home to return to.
If you do not make your people see,
They will not understand.
If you do not make your people feel,
They will not be satisfied.
If you do not magnify what is seen,
They will not be satisfied.
If you do not use words to make your people happy,
They will not be happy.
The common people
will not remain quiet,
And if they do remain quiet,
the people
will not grow wise and constant.
When man fails to keep the precepts,
Excesses follow.
When excesses occur,
Excess must be taken up by the poor,
And in time, the poor will not be able to be tired,
And the foolish will begin to take root.
When no one remains clear-headed, confusion and confusion will reign.
When clear-headedness is lost,
Curses and rites are tied up.
When rites and rites are lost,
the people will be governed according to law.
Therefore, the wise man
Will govern

If Tao does not get in the way, no problem can be solved.
When men have come to embrace the Tao, no matter how confused, they will find themselves at peace, at ease, at peace, at peace.
If true understanding brings men to peace, how can a confused mind find its place in society?
If the people do not believe that their leaders, their directors, even the heavenly hosts are there to protect them, what will induce them to trust in people?
Only when in a state of fear can leaders be trusted, only when in doubt is the foundation for a word, can we trust men.
When the old Way is lost, the Tao returns.

"We naturally unite the keenest perception and the hushest comprehension, our meditation and our learning.
To achieve unity is to experience complete peace.
Peace is attained through awareness, clarity, and honesty.
Renouncing belief, abandon your views and reject understanding.
To facilitate progress and cooperation, rely on the multitudes.
The wise man begins with humility and yet he is a model of trust, of goodness and morality.
Eliminate dispute and aid harmony.
If the old order is lost, the Tao can return to perfection.

We naturally depend on perception and on comprehension
To attain unity we must rely on the intuition of the Wise man.
To not rely on the Wise man leaves us with confusion and affliction.
To become aware of Unity gives us peace.

The Great Tao attained,
The ten thousand things in this world assist one degree [tao].
According to the Tao attained,
Thirty thousand things fill the world.
Since the Tao attained
All things fill the world.
In that case
A governor will have princes and nobles and great scholars
Those who alone do this duty
See the empty measure [maintaining the superiority],
And the empty measure in itself [serving the "profits" and "placing the nation above its natural quality"],
As it appears [their duty] and [the nature of that inferior "action"]
In conformity to the Tao attained.
And then,
The great and illustrious rulers would enjoy a vacancy.
Those who have supremacy and great position

So as to use the vacant positions
As "workers" [for the higher purpose of the superior nature].

Man's good name, good policy, not good name, policy not good, law not good, military force not good,
No music and no carriages.
It is their failure that makes them such.
Then if they abandon Tao and return to the ways of their forefathers, they do so without abandoning good deeds and without abandoning true patriots.
Tao can be shorn, and it is returned to raw nature.
Tao is great, so it is great not great.
The ancient humanity is old and still,
Better forgotten,

The first great Truth was forgotten by the rise of the empire.
Silent Reason had begun.
The good man had become conspicuous.
The Statesman had become respectable.
The prince had become powerful.
No-one at war possessed a good reputation.
The army had not worked without the consent of the officers.
Weapons had not been used without warning.
The fool had no home, no love.
The world was filled with violence and conflict.
Therefore, the Enlightened Master holds to the Truth of non-action,
and it is lost to him.
The way of Heaven is to be dim and confused,
in the course of the first great Truth.
It is lost to him.
The Way of Heaven is good at the beginning,
for it is lost to him.
How men may live without words,
and how men may act without real force!
To Heaven's way is no speech,
for it is lost to Heaven.
This is the way of the people, the great empty words of Infinity.
The myriad things in the world,
but this is the natural state of the wise ones.
The things, but no voice for them.
The country, but no sense for it.
The master, but no word for it.
Nature is without words,
and that is why it does not fail,
It must seek its Truth.

All these were formed from Tao,
So they came to be;
But never the Tao happened.
The Tao is emptiness,
And yet no light exists.
So far, no light.
Those that can look are close to Tao.
Those that can breathe breathe life into it.
But it is the Tao that's penetrating.

The uncarved wood can be seen with the naked eye. It can be carved to form images. Words that can be spoken are imperfect, and so are Tao. Without the Tao, you cannot perceive the light. Everything in the universe depends on the Tao. It brings life, and joy,and peace to all.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is like its Name. Through it all things arise. The Nameless Light shines forth from it.
All things come from it.
The beautiful comes from it.
There is the mother who nurtures them.
All come from the Tao.
Tao from it, all things arise.
Tao from it, all things thrive.
Tao is endlessly without end. It cannot be captured by a reason, so there are no reasons. There is nothing else in the universe. It brings joy and peace to all who love it.
<|endoftext|>
It is the origin of words, and thus cannot be experienced by a physical body.
But Tao is a mystical thing, and can only be experienced by one who is naturally gifted.
Tao in its spiritual nature never stops. It is beyond imagining, and cannot be illustrated.
Thus the profound Tao is inaccessible to the physical senses.
Through the senses the mystical can be seen, but is its deep essence which is beyond perception.
The presence of Tao in Nature can be sensed, and may be, but is the essence of Tao that which is deep and permanent, as Nature is forever changing.

The Way is like the Way
According to the Way all things rise up.
All things go to them and bring forth everything.
The beauty of the Way is beyond word; it is not a man, and in no wise can be seen.
The heavens and the earth pass by it, and come to them; they are their mother; they bring forth everything.
It was by the Way that all beings came into being, and it was by it that they became manifest.

The thirty-seventh heaven is the ocean. It is eternal and everywhere; all its treasures are without limit, like a sacred artifact. People are always confused about the relationship between heaven and earth. Is it true that heaven and earth are like an infant? It has all of these treasures and more and more is new. Those who do not love themselves are like thieves and robbers, which is what they are. The virtuous one, on the other hand, is a fool, an idiot. If only the people loved each other, peace and harmony would prevail, which is the root of all goodness.
The meaning of heaven and earth is that it is the parental earth. Earth is the infinite mother of heaven, and the Principle of all on earth.
The wisdom of the sage is that he does not strive for the treasure. The poor of all people is not pure and beautiful. The way to a pure and beautiful life is not to focus on appearances. The same way, one should be generous to the poor. If one is generous to the poor, he will become powerful as a king. If one is strong as a king, he will have many followers.
There is the great mystery at the core of the relation between the earth and heaven, and the parents of the people.
Be receptive and the big picture will come to the surface.

The myriad colors are the Way; they spring from deep within and reach everywhere, forever. Everything on the physical plane is born of the Mother, all of them mysterious, beautiful, marvelous, intimate, sensitive, mysterious, spiritual, boundless, magnificent, profound. It takes a humble heart to care for others, and this principle of benevolence is most universal.
The leader, though a person of modest worth, has deep spiritual wisdom. He should have such deep and abiding wisdom.
People's hearts must awaken, because the Leader has no head, no purse, no government.
The Leader's means are insufficient to properly care for all, but he is a subtle blessing, a gentle and light law-giver.

Carriages all come and go,

The Way is not to be guarded.
Achieving its goal does not require ceremony.
Honest and discriminating people are the most numerous.
Hesitant and suspicious people are the rarest.
Religious people are the most prominent.
Soldiers are war ministers.
The Way cannot be traded.
Tying it to wealth brings profit,
To name and position bring anxiety,
And certain words cause division.
The Way does not prosper, therefore wealth is the basis of ambition and a delusion of pride.
The Tao itself has no place in every place.
Governments and officials may seem wise,
but they have no ability to control the masses.
And leaders need only submit to their subjects.
The Tao provides the foundation of the world,
and it cannot be attained by achievement or through strength.
<|endoftext|>
The Te, ancient and ancient, may be regarded as Tao.
It is something that is not distinguished as Tao, which when attained does not appear ritual.
It is clear, yet it remains obscure.
It is easy, yet it remains difficult.
It is broad, yet it remains without parallel.
It is natural, yet it remains unknown.
It is infinite, yet it remains in a sense in a state of nonexistence.
The universe has its inhabitants; it is not the universe that has its inhabitants.
The Te is distinguished as nameless; although it does not have names, we call it by different names in the same way as all the nameless are distinguished by their not having names.
The supreme is held in the custody of Heaven; this the empire contains.
The first in name is the nameless; this is also the throne of Heaven.
The speech which is uttered in public is the utterance of the unseen.
Man, the ruler of men, therefore has the respect of heaven. He has the respect of the state, he has the respect of the nation.
Man governs the world according to a reasonable method; and, in proportion as he governs, he assumes the respect of the nations, and the nations regard him as their sovereign.
The Tao is the way of the Tao,
and it is not the ruler of man.

Follow the path of the DAO
In the past was this Way. In the present is the Way that follow. In the past was this Way; then
"It is not perfect" - the Womb was seen,
"It is not complete" - the Heart was felt.
"These two are one" - "but the appearance is not absolute."
The Womb is the Formless Root of All Things,
and the Heart the Formless Core of All Individuals.
Therefore the truly wise say:
"Ego governs its body,
but not self governs its heart."
So the Wise Person chooses and realises the Center of his Life,
choosing and realising that Self's Essence,
is the Source of all the others.
The Way that changes, can be compared to Tao.

The ancient masters of Tao never saw past one another; they never became confused as regards the particular, the substantial, and the intangible.
They never diverged from one another in their focus.
They never separated, as in an amalgam.
They were ever one in being whole and one whole in being filled.
The great Tao is never lost.
As an unbroken unity it can serve as the basis of all work of the day.
The Collective Tao, the origin of the Collective Universe.
The highest virtue is indeed the virtuous, and thus non-virtuousness also comes into its reality.
Witchcraft aspires to goodness and righteousness, and others come to see in it the basis of their distinction.
Only the fulfillment of virtue can mean the fulfillment of the Principle of all goodness, and thus happiness and bounty.
The Principle is like a thread that can be tied. Everything is rooted in the Principle.
Where it is not, it becomes the pivot. The Principle, when established, becomes the model for the whole system.
The loftiest virtue (Lao Tze-tsung's value) involves that virtue that is neither great nor great, and that which exists.
The Tao that makes you feel so good
Is not Tao;
The way that comes to you but not real you
Is not the way.
Is that true?
Is that so?
This whole empire of goodness in this way

Man's highest emotion is fear.
The self-same emotion that tore man to pieces in antiquity and pre-Christian times
Is the force that has defined humankind's path since ancient times.
By losing that force, all suffering ceases.
To live in the world, it is essential to keep [our] self in mind.
To live in the world, it is essential to live [our] life for the world,
And to live [our] life for the world, it is necessary to have integrity.
Honor as the core of the house provides a model of loyalty.
Pursue the inevitable growth of the family life.
When the family grows up, [its] spirit is renewed.
When the family life dies, [its] spirit is dissipated.
The actions of the leaders determine the destiny of the nation and the country's destiny.
If a leader does not live by the role [of being a leader], he endangers the people.
What the great masters have said:
"Man's greatest emotion is fear."

The Tao is elusive; in it are wonders.
Yet it is precisely because it is elusive, that so many things can be defined.
These may be so named: The Profound Mystery; the Emptiness of Infinity; The Great Mystery.
This is what distinguishes the great mysteries.
How then can we say that even the great mysteries are now in decline?
They all are produced by desire.
The desire that gives birth to them all!
The Wise Person becomes present at all times; speaks all the time; conducts all affairs; supports all his relationships; and considers all he does as his own.
He does not demand or trust, does not gossip, does not force people to do his will.
He does not lecture or lecture himself.
He can be trusted with every aspect of a great and significant operation.
He can be trusted with the importance of a large share of the management of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is elusive.
It moves with an unknown speed.
Some things can be made manifest within it;
Others are produced by it.
Others are produced by itself.
Other things could be manifest;
Some things are produced by it;
Some things are produced by it,
Others disappear.
While a certain Tao can be produced by an infinite regress;
Some thing can be produced by a certain regress;
Other things can be produced by it.
A certain Tao is produced by desires;
Other Tao is produced by actions.
Different motives produce different results.
Tao produces the Way;
The Way produces virtue.
But only the Way produces people.
A person does not become virtuous with a work of virtue;
Others become virtuous with a work of virtue;
But other people do not.
Therefore:
All virtues and actions,
But some are associated with the Way and others with virtue;
People accept some of them and reject some of them;
Tao and virtue have different values;
People sometimes prefer one or the other of them.
Thus, the Tao and the Way, the Way and virtue, the culture and culture, the process and the process all come from different sources.
The natural person does not compete for the people's allegiance.
He does not compete for their hearts

Loyal ministers in glory, glory in glory
In the world of ulterior thoughts.
Loyal ministers who use the standard for the world.
Loyal ministers who make clear that they are
The trappings of an established policy,
This also means self-righteous.
The good good men do are the lot of themselves,
In the (chaos of) their own performance.
The bad bad men are the lot of others.
Self-indulgent men, the lot of others,
Give themselves over to self-righteousness.
A great army of men marches under the Duke of All Things
Yet the Duke does not appear
He can only be maintained by Ministers.
To maintain it, The Duke must have Direction.
To hold to Direction,
Hold on to loyalty.
Hence:
The great government is one great principle.
The things on which the great government depends are all of the things on which the great government depends.
The Tao that underlies the world is but one reality.
The issues of the world are but the manifestations of the Tao.
The dukes, kings and emperors all reside in the Tao.
To name them sovereign is to court the claim to have sovereign power.
In this judgment, one who embraces the Tao is in accord with the Tao, and in accordance with the Tao is in accord with him.
Therefore, the dukes, kings and emperors who receive the Tao as their sovereign power accept it in this manner:
The king does not use his power for self-aggrandisement,
The emperor follows the example of the king and avoids self-aggrandisement,
The princes live for the sake of the empire and not to the advantage of themselves.
The empire depends upon the loyalty of loyal subjects.
The loyalty of the subjects is not its own virtue; it is the credibility of the empire.
Therefore, the duke and marquis who adopt this convention,
Accept the world as one great source,
As one great government they are but one of a multitude of governments.
In this sense they are lords of the world,
Who live out of the realm of their Kings and Queens.
Therefore the world, like their Kings and Queens, benefits from the loyalty of its kings and queens.
The loyalty of the subjects is not self-gratification, but its own virtue.
This is why rulers and lords conform themselves to the Tao.

When people become selfless, selfish, and cunning,
There will be chaos.
After this, there will be a period of peace and prosperity,
where the rule will emerge with a natural style.
After a period of peace and prosperity,
there will be a time when the common people begin to doubt and doubt.
Upon their coming to this, the great men will always be found.
From this origin, there is also a way of life.
That is the way of the sage and the master.

Those who have reached a wise ruling never see their kingdom go astray; the smart one never sees their group disappear; they merely face who they are,
and they work until they reach the limit.
Those who have learned to play at becoming good and fair then begin playing, by becoming good and fair; playing, by becoming good and fair.
Playing by playing, by playing.
Good and fair, great hypocrisy emerges, and,
They are followed by people who love their parents and loved their children,
but when trust is lost, then only those who know how to lie, the worthless and clever.
After a while, the virtuous people who can hold the king and a country are lost.
Then we have that of chaos.
We have a great man and a great kingdom,
There are liars, learned men and clever men.
After a time a country knows how to be alive,
Then the kings and the leaders must learn the lesson of life.
The ancient times taught the wise to act like an assassin
But now that they can act like the assassin,
they must act like a good assassin,
And work hard, until they can not act, and then act.
The good and the bad become clowns and thieves and nobody trusts them;
After a while people start looking for the evil and the smart;
But when no one trusts them,
Then the wise leaders will show the good and the bad, the good and the bad,
and no one trusts them.
When the great man lost the state and the great king
the ancient wisdom takes the place of the current wisdom.

In the beginning, when the earth was still, there were many kinds of vegetation; then there were cabbages; then there were flowering fruits. Then came noble chariot carriages. Then there was fear of war.
Came discord; then came rule.
For now, we see that there are rulers. But who governs all under heaven? Who shapes a whole world? Who contrives so many things? Who values titles and belongings? Who manipulates all under heaven?
He who remembers who is worthy will find (a thing to love) in (other people) and find (anthing to be trusted with).

it is wiser to try to find common ground with all people.
If all share everything, there will be harmony.
If the common good is somehow sacrificed, there will be discord.
All the time, the leader puts himself above his people, is above the world, and will leave all under heaven in a state of great fear.

When the image of all that is not good
is carved into stone,
When the bones of men's hearts
are cleaved in pieces
for the use of no man,
This produces in the world something which cannot be regarded
as being good.
After this comes ritual, the use of power,
for the use of men, that cannot be regarded
as good.
These things, though, serve a purpose which cannot be regarded
as good.
Therefore they are shorn away:
They are identified with things that cannot be

Thus, they are treated

The beginning of the Tao
Is a valley
And a valley of unmoved water,
Not for a man's use,
But valley of still water,
The beginning of the Tao.
The valleys in the world are full of dwelling,
Crowning towers,
Clothed and fed,
Kingly and humble,
Attendants and guests,
And all honoured with noble honors.
However we pass in life,
Sometimes we must appear lowly,
And sometimes we may shine brightly,
Yet pay no respect to those below us.
So in this way, we teach the Way,
And there is no end to our wisdom;

[From, "A Morality So Blasphemous That it Has Consequences", Tao Te Ching, Secret Commentary On The Laws Of The Universe, 1946.]
When Tao is lost, so is benevolence. When benevolence is lost, so is humanity. When humanity is lost, so is wisdom. When wisdom is lost, so is cleverness. When cleverness is lost, so is disloyalty. When disloyalty is lost, so is division. When division is prevalent, then a king with vested interests should be excluded.
When all can be content with that, All things will naturally return to their natural way of life. The wise and good may be placed in positions of power but no one should turn to them for guidance or wealth. Before every action is taken, the king must notice the way things are and who is at one with the natural world.
Tao, or the Laws of the Cosmos, is a part of the Tao but without duality, creates the matrix of the Cosmos. The Laws of the Cosmos are natural laws and for this reason may be treated as a book and not as an artifact. This is the same as saying that so important is a body and its location that even the weakest human being can make an effort to avoid those who are powerful.
The role of Tao is to measure and give flavor to events so as to motivate others to act.
But when Tao is lost, benevolence loses its flavor, wisdom loses its flavor, humanity loses its flavor, and cleverness loses its flavor.
A state of willful elitism will only lead to discord and chaos.
Only when there is no interference can there be loyalty, friendship, and the Way.
On this point may I remind:
The actions of those who love and cherish their bodies,
The actions of those who delight in their private lives
The actions of those who act on their own with no guidance
The actions of those who strive to succeed only by staying true to themselves and to their personal values
People are only one of many things that make up the natural world.
Those who think of their bodies, the way of life, and the desires of others
are trying to control them
and are not

When the ten thousand things go about, All-dwelling beings should be entrusted with the care of those of lesser status. Stillness and tranquility rule all things. Therefore, There is nothing that is willing to endure. The world now seems to have passed into chaos, And the heaven and earth seem to be left alone. However, harmony and tranquility can hardly be held in their entirety, and neither is the solitary creature able to endure long. Things seem to be making a show of themselves, Because all things seem to prefer peace and quiet to interfering and strife. And the home life is [yielding] in abandonment. The place has been taken by philanthropists. However, philanthropists are [yielding] in abandoning the place. Because philanthropists alone are able to maintain the state and the home. And because philanthropists are able to maintain the state and the home, They are able to make as many people depend on them as the earth would allow.

Great leaders rule with great kindness.
All creatures, that don't contend,
Maintain the orderly state.
Without order, chaos ensues.
Without order, order fails.
Restraining the masses,
they achieve tranquility.
Without tranquility, strife.
Thus, peace reigns.
Therefore, it is said:
Tremendous benevolence,
fearlessness and immobility,
stillness and tranquility,
will seem odd to all.
World affairs,
become confused.
Therefore, the lord holds high all.
He can control the multitudinous,
all of the myriad creatures.
He can control the myriad beings

These wise men of old were tranquil, not moving, and sincere in their piety and devotion to their people.I see them as if calm while they raised their arm to the left (as in holding the left hand), and at the same time stopping when they did not like the country.Their example was like that of a clown, who only moves when it pleases him. This indeed shows that they did not want to enforce anything upon the people. But the common people can be turned around without being surprised, and returned to the way of the Tao.When the great Tao is abandoned it will appear. What the great Dao is not, then there is benevolence, goodness, and intelligence. When the six kinds of people in tension are not in harmony there will be filial piety and paternal affection.

From long ago there have been the wise men:
Pervasive, not moving, not stressing their status -
Their voice quiet and reserved,
Their means unclear and empty.
Though their examples may appear passive,
Their guileless guile was exactly that of a fool,
It can be understood by us by the end.
They appeared calm,
Their body motion subtle and light,
Their words deep and persuasive,
Though their behaviour not ritualistic,
Their function is to govern:
The realm is in chaos,
So now we can also say that the light is waning.
The others at their best:
In a manner neutral and no leader,
In affairs the people govern and the leader excels.
Let us pause, watch the coming age.
Heaviness is ominous,
Even at their slowest,
Dao is unsettling.
They were wise and kind,
On the up and going.
Wise and kind!
Though speechless and unfathomable,
Their behaviour fit to defy description.
Simple, ever free of guidance.
It happens that those most light,
And the bright the most confused:
The righteous arise, the next declines.
The world is unstable,
So now turn back to the Tao.
If the light vanishes, the ignorant will be.

The good man is superior to the evil man. But according to what has happened in the world, not everything is good. It is what is already good that should be praised.
Good things are not really good. They are like a good thing that has been abandoned. Good things are not great. They are like the natural low. They are like the valleys where nature rains down. When Nature is not constant, a weak person is nurtured. When many things are not constant, a strong person is maintained.
When a ruler was without good feelings of loyalty, true kindness, and good faith, his nation would fail. When loyalty and good faith were not made a part of the state's culture, reliability and reliability would disappear.
If honesty and trust were lost, loyalty and benevolence were lost as well. When there were no rules, hypocrisy and filial piety were imposed upon a state.
When loyalty and benevolence were lost, filial piety and parental love were lost. When religion and law were not based on the Ten Dynasties, loyalty and honesty disappeared.
If loyalty and loyalty were lost, loyalty and filial devotion were lost.
When loyalty and filial love were lost, loyalty and loyalty was the only loyalty left.
The state which lost loyalty and loyalty was not fit to govern a nation.
Loyalty and benevolence are those which can be depended on; yet too often people resort to these when they fear or feel no loyalty.
If filial devotion and loyalty were not cherished, great kindness and belief would be lost.
If loyalty and faith were not maintained, loyalty and duty would be extinct.
When the great rulers fell, loyalty and goodness and benevolence became superfluous.
When the great rulers fell, filial piety and parental love were forgotten.
When loyalty and duty were not maintained, loyalty and loyalty were the only remaining loyalty.

The times of tao have developed but no quality has been abandoned. When a quality is abandoned the system will collapse. What does loyalty mean? It means giving your life for your people. When you are giving your life for your people, loyalty and sanctity will naturally prevail.
The men of Tao leave nothing to be forgotten. What is forgotten is not as valuable as what has survived.

If you are not kind to the superior,
it seems to you that you will have to be kind to the inferior.
But it is much better to be kind to
the inferior than to be kind to the superior.
It is better to be kind to the superior than to be kind to the
inferior. So the more useful
can be the inferior, the more humble the superior.
How is it possible for the more valuable
to suffer for the less valuable?
Where is the love that can be claimed for a worthless
thing? How can morality be said to be humane?
Thus, the laws of Heaven govern the passions of men.
Not yielding to them
can only lead to resentment.
The natural tendency of Tao is to disintegrate all
in opposition.
It tends not to make itself a vassal to anyone.
It does not take anything for its self.
It abides not in the outward forms of being.
To love is to love the self:
to love one's self is to love Heaven.
To love the self, to be selfless.
To love the world is to be a bond to heaven.
To love heaven, to be a bond to the world.
The world in return is the bond of the Self:
to love the self is to love Heaven.
When heaven is in a bad state, the Self will abide in the bad place.

The essential law is,
That if you have a strong abdomen,
Then your belly will be a big belly.
Then your arms and legs will be weak.

Goodness looks like the blind path.

The best leaders are people's teachers.
Their success comes from being willing to give up a great goal.
When their goal is lost, they are willing to seek a lesser one.
They are willing to accept a lesser goal.
They are willing to show their true self.
In their teaching they never turn from the issue
and they never give up their true, lasting teaching.
By their teaching they are able to give rise to the correct actions.
Because they never turn from the issue
they remain flexible to the issue.
They foster the right relationship and maintain the right relationships.
They are loyal to their country,
and they remain loyal to their country.
A great leader knows that he is great,
and so he is truly great.
Because he does not dwell on his greatness
he is always open to his greatness.
Because he does not make himself great
he can always become great.
He stays with his roots
and he can always stay with his roots.
(Celestial nobility, of course, is fulfilled by virtue).
His heart is nourished, his speech is true.
His law is constant.
He never discards what he has received.
Therefore his actions are consistent with his relationship with the world.
And his words become not a lie.
Hence he benefits the world and never loses his true relationship with Heaven.
That is why he is ever unshaken in his faith in Heaven and on the Earth.

As the great Tao disappeared from the world and disappeared, a great and subtle virtue emerged. This virtue is called great and subtle because it has attained the distinction of being the name of a subtle and invisible virtue. As the hidden and subtle, it will not be perceived. As the truly great, it will not leave you.It is the true way of Heaven and Earth to discard Tao completely and to work upon the world in four ways.First,One who gets his seat in heaven and earth,Heaven and Earth will love and love him back.Second,He who has learned in the Tao,He who knows the Tao will do likewise.Third,He who has learned from Heaven and Earth,He who knows Heaven and Earth will practice the Tao on earth.Fourth,He who has abandoned the Tao,He who is abandoned the Tao,He who is abandoned heaven and earth,Will not be deprived of true reward.

If some people with enlightened minds did not contend, how unfair and glorious were wars.
If some people with no enlightenment were not cunning, how much less could one know.
If some people with no knowledge were not liars, how much less could one trust.
If some people had not enough sense how ungracious they were, and how empty of intelligence, how much less could the world depend on them.
Therefore, he who has mastered Dao employs benevolence, respect, compassion, and calm.
He reverts those whose sensibilities are not in harmony with his Dao, who cannot be trusted.
Others might be quick to appreciate the kindness of others, the non-shabby fabric, the loving and comforting, the beautiful home, and the saving people.

Whoever dares to rise above the law, how unfair it is!
Whoever dare to take liberties with people's bodies, how much chaos!
Whoever dare to have as much as they like with the world, how much folly!
Therefore the sage uses justice and toleration;
he acts with cleverness;
He sees that the public is not being spoiled;
and he views what's happening in the world in order to see how things are shaping up.
People's wants are enough to give to the sovereign.
So, who chooses to be the sage, serves humanity, kindness, peace, and strength;

Favor and repute are the new model of esteem. Intelligent people say that when virtue becomes centered, it stops being that way. When honesty becomes heroic, it stops being that way. When knowledge and wit become effective, it stops being that way. When love and parental devotion become prominent, it stops being that way.

Heaven and Earth may have a relationship, but not as close as that of a harmonious relationship. That is why human hearts will often suffer confusion. Therefore, the nobleman and the gentleman may cherish their etiquette and morality while stopping short of honoring the Earth.Hence the Earth itself becomes indifferent to it.As a result, foolish humans are able to establish a relationship.Where the earth turns on them, then so does the lowly human heart. How much this is because people were never meant to be together and there was a time when they appeared to be such close in touch? It is because one of them went for a killing without regard for human life.

The Great Way is not a natural thing.
There are people who use it in order to achieve their goals,
And others who use it for selfish gain.
In time of need, the virtuous person acts.
In time of need, the willful person responds.
The second in command makes those who govern the world obey his instructions.
Honor is given to the leader because he is worthy.
Commoneralty is given because he is wise.
Divorce is given because his family is troubled.
Since the ancestor is identified with the world,
Since family honor is given to the second in command,
Since common folks are righteous,
Since law is enforced,
Because the leaders are faithful,
Thus the World is called the great.
The Wise Person lives outside of the world.
He lives in the heart of the people and asks for nothing in return.

What is great is not natural.
The good one uses it, and the bad one takes.
Some use it to fulfill the task,
some to fulfill their ambitions.
Achieving aims becomes personal,
And becomes a way of life.
Being in the middle cannot be used by the bad one.
A case has to be made to use the good one.
A man and his family must know that what is going on is right.
Since there is no place for justice in the family,
Harmony of men cannot be improved by the right path.
Courage is sometimes the accompaniment of pride,
And someone who dislikes the laws must know where to send his lieutenant.
<|endoftext|>
The great conquest is not natural.
Some grab and grab at it.
Some seize and take it away.
Those who grab it and take it are imperfect men;
Others who grab and take it are thieves and robbers.
Common people are sad when things go bad.
Therefore the wise can tell a man's brothers and sisters from what they want to know;
Those who are sad when things go bad will probably put a stop to it.
The Wise Person never has a personal gain.

He who conceives of Self in an unsupervised manner
Expounds and preserves the Tao;
He who conceives of the Tao in an orderly manner
Fulfills it in a harmonious manner.
This is called not being original.
Being not original is the source of good.
Being good is the origin of evil.
Badness originates when there is disorder and discord.
Tao has always been like this.
It is the source of Tao's law.
Return to the past and to the creation of Tao, to the beginning of creation.
This is the heart of Tao.
Return to the Unity of Nothingness.

Be firm in self-mastery but not arrogant to the point of arrogance. Be firm in self-mastery but not arrogant to the point of arrogance. Be not-self absolute.
To be absolute is the origin of a variety of goods. Being absolute is the origin of foolishness.Being foolish is the origin of wisdom. If there is sufficient balance of divinity there will be harmony and justice.
When there is no external order, few people possess the skill to restrain their heart. To achieve this, follow Tao (God) but do not define your self.
<|endoftext|>
Never display self in prideful ways: Confidence leads to arrogance. The same goes for self-mastery: Failing humility leads to glory.
Hence, humility produces the profit of blindness. Blindness is the origin of wisdom. When there is no external order, there is no way of acting which results in winning the trust of the people.
For this reason, only the truly good (Tao) governs by his own simple kindness (Dai).
<|endoftext|>
Never display one's self in vanity: Virtue is sufficed for Self; Integrity [is] sufficed for Wit; Goodness [is] sufficed for the World. Being sufficed for the World [is] Virtue; Being good [is] the Reason why the World [is] sufficed. When there

He who does not regard birth as one's honor

This is called the Mystery of Mystery,
and, having become known by all under heaven,
he could also be called the Mystery (of Truth).
Approaching his very substance, he could be called the formless.
In this form he has no shape, but exists in all the dimensions.
And he never forsakes this (potential) and becomes and ever retains a being.
I say this merely because he cannot be identified with mere person or material.
He is both the substance and the form.
In this manner he knows not his immanence; and consequently has no fixed origin (or burial place).
He is thus separated from both, and, as such, is found as having neither substance nor form,
nor the very essence of what he is.

could be best understood by this;

The Great Way abides, yet one does not desire to be on the Way. One may be examined, and there is no fault to be found. And one may be corrected, and there is no error to be found. Without correctness there is faultlessness.
When the great Way disappeared, wise people appeared. But their sincerity, their inner worlds, they had no knowledge of. Yet they alone could show how to live correctly.

The great Tao
Will not be followed.
There are four instruments
Who come in front of it:
Pretend
Knowledge
Rulers
Perfection
No alteration.
Of the four instruments,
There are nothing that can be in front.
No one can serve them.
Wherever there are four instruments,
It is a need that needs to be behind.
Are they not that the need for taking this way
Is obvious?
How can one not know the need to take this way?

The great way (Tao) Is to be followed; it is not
all you are longing to be.
There are instruments in it that serve to be in front
Of it, and yet are there no traces of them.
Those that have gone have no place in it,
And so the issue to be found
Does not need to be mentioned.
It is sufficient to say,
"One cannot act for something without any intention
Of having it acted upon."
It is not possible to act without leaving a trace.
Acting, leaving no mark,
When you are in complete accord,
You will be uncontamined.

One might need them to be in front of it;
But there is nothing left in it to be in front of.

When the Great Tao's teaching stopped being useful, people began using words to express their thinking.
So now, people talk about credibility and virtue.
When loyalty and justice are lost, confusion and discord appear.
When the Dao's teaching ceases to be useful, people rely on images of goodness and loyalty.
When ritual for loyalty and justice disappears, there is confusion and discord.
Things in the world -- including kings and princes -- are hardly aware of the existence of their own names.
By not naming them, we are forced to use things such as integrity, loyalty, good behaviour and status.
Who knows when the Dao will turn into nothing more than words?

When the Universe falls apart, loyal benevolence and acquiescence become fashionable.

All lands under Heaven are full of dukes and kings. If dukes and kings had not shown their loyalty to the great Way, We should then see kingly despots and kings. How is it that kings and dukes grow from nieces and dars, and still there are good (child) princes and princes? What is the use of watching after kings and dukes that existed in the days of the old-established Way? He who knows is worthy; he who is not knows. And the old (fashioned) one became the new, and the new became the old.

The four great Princes and ten great states do not rule Heaven by the power of Heaven, but are, therefore, the common kinsmen of the Earth, which receives them; and if Heaven were not to rule in them, princes and states would not have the same gentleness which Earth gives them. How great is the difference between lords and deans and princes and their ministers! It is the difference between honoring and disgracing the sovereign. The former venerate their sovereign, and the latter refuse to touch him; and when princes and states fall into disorder, then will we see dutiful officers.

Nature gives, heaven takes, then follows. When Heaven was not in use, it would have made the earth and its cycles inactive. In humanity, we have different attitudes toward our rulers; that is to say, one is informed and another remains ignorant. I know what is desirable and something else I don't. When the old social group is reformed, the latter becomes the former. Is it then a negative thing for me to say, I enjoy the laissez-faire condition when the earth is also a laissez-faire condition?

When the Law ends, It is Justice and virtue that are attached to the will.
When the Way comes to an end, Those who follow it come to virtue and benevolence.
When the great Tao takes root in the world, There are those who are virtuous, but not desirous to act.
Who are virtuous, however, have the will to act.
Loyal Ministers, too, are everywhere.
We always have a Minister to whom we turn.
A Master ruler of the state is a gentleman, too.

There are people so infirm and deaf to reason,
That their Princes are told they are too righteous,

Who could last longest in effort and diligence, who could last in profundity and usefulness? The One who can last longest in effort and diligence, and who can last in profundity and usefulness, is from the One Who is beyond, and always beyond. From the absence of the One Who is beyond, everything appears, and everything appears. If the six directions disintegrate, he who is entrusted with the job of governing becomes redundant. If the clans and valleys become broken up, he who rules will not remain. What can last longest in effort and diligence? -He who can last longest in effort and diligence is eternal in effort and diligence. What can last long in profundity and usefulness? -He who can long endure profundity and usefulness. Which is it that separates the wise from the rest? The one from the other. When the state and nation are barely together, And the general form of government is less than effective, (It is because there is the one.) - If men cease to be wise and capable, The total dissolution of state and nation will become evident. Genuine honesty appears as deception.
Stabilization, when disorder again reigns, leads to self-destruction.
Onward and downward to the origin.

When the subtle Way (the Mystery) does not work, kindness is the chief form of righteousness. When the time comes to use the Way, we are advised to use it sparingly. When we see that the great Cosmic Image has no shape, we recognize that it is not real. The great Cosmic Image is real, but when the real is lost, it can be lost. The great Cosmic Image is called the infant of the Great Tao. This is why it is said that "genuine honesty appears to deceive." "A model always appears incomplete." "To keep to one's basic principles leads to great misjudgment." To act from the world's advantage is to be destroyed. The way of heaven and earth is to be opposed to the Way of the four-folded heaven and earth. When the Way is lost, there is no government.

In practicing virtue, there is no benevolence; benevolence acts only as a facilitator of moral goodness, and no action can begin until benevolence is ceased.
<|endoftext|>
Be (virtuosity) in yourself,
And goodness will be your "root."
Benevolence will be the guide of your "style."
Unity will be the light for your inner world.
When humanity fails,
We see its children,
And the rising of princes will appear,
When evil is feared,
We see the appearance of virtuous motives.
So what we know as "goodness" has nothing to do with the good in us;
It is only a method for averting evil.
<|endoftext|>
If goodness is to be the root of virtue, be thereby glad that the root be sweet to virtue; and if goodness are to be the guide of the style, be thereby glad that the style be good in virtue.
When humanity meets calamity,
A shade of truth appears; when good fortune meets calamity, a shade of evil appears;
When there is the fear of disaster, a shade of virtue appears.
Therefore, when virtue is in peril, we see (the appearance of) good men and good things.
When good men and things are in danger, we have a bad day.
When good men and things appear bad, we have

And is it not with such manifestations?
Can it be that the beginning of one is not the end of the other?
If so, then light is no virtue, life is no wisdom,
kindness is no virtue.
Courage and recklessness are not virtues,
hallelujahs are not wisdom,

dependence on the Manifestation (Tao)

When Heaven and Earth were inactive and void, Virtue (Truth) and humanity came to the fore.
In order to endure and thrive, families and clans came to life.
The loss of Unity (Unity of DA), of goodness (the genuine Light), is at the root of the loss of flourishing (leaving the bones of a family and clans).
Achieving consistency is not enough.
Treat what is seen as existence as an illusion.
When the Mystic Path (Way) does not show, a cause cannot be recognized.
When virtuous forces are nowhere, ugliness is right behind. When pride and hypocrisy gain prominence, the truth (Tao) will appear. When chaos and disorder prevail, loyalty and devotion must return to being an act of an acknowledgment.
This is as it happens that virtue has no virtue and ugliness is right in front.
The glory of the path, no matter how great or bright, is only a shadow.
<|endoftext|>
When Heaven and Earth became inactive, Virtue and morality were born. In order to long endure, the different parts of the people lived in harmony. If feudal systems came to an end, they would have lost their humanity and family values. When the nobility and the nobility's husband were in decline, filial piety was born. When all the lords and the marquises fell into chaos, loyalty and confidence were required for the country. Even a friend is a cause for loyalty and confidence. When the white tower and the black tower appear, someone is behind.

The essence of Heaven and Earth was inactive, and virtue sprang to life. Humanity was produced in accordance with the period of life of nature, when the four winds are at rest. When All Power has reverted to simplicity, honor, and sagacity, then

(This is exactly the reason it is not natural.)
The Way that can be lived in the world com-prehensively is not the Way of natural nature.

The Way that can be done in the world of nature is not the Way of natural nature.

The Way that can be lived in the world of nature is not the Way of natural nature.

The Way of the world of nature is not the Way of natural nature.

When the Inner Life of man is cast aside, it is then that man attains integrity. When a Master becomes dim, it is then that man attains virtue. In times of inaction, wisdom flourishes. When clever people rule, greatness prevails. When the realm is ruled by officials, glory reigns. Why do the people choose to become innocent?Because of honor. Honor is the root of all virtue. Therefore, when there is no honor, then are people with integrity and morality; when there are no things of merit, then are people who play well with others.

Once people were not aware of the rule of the Tao, it was only because of its absence that it could be regarded as the only Tao. If leaders are not aware of the Tao, then their power is greatly weakened. If the state is governed by those who do not know the Tao, their success is difficult to achieve. If the people are not conscious of the Tao, then the highest excellence prevails. If people do not dare to use their talent, then they do not achieve much. For they come into possession of the Way of the Tao, and then they are able to realize all the above-mentioned virtues.
<|endoftext|>
Once people gave no heed to the Tao, it was only because of its absence that the Tao could be referred to. In the absence of the Tao, man needs to be enlightened. In the presence of the Tao, man need be simple. In the absence of the Tao, men need to take care of their beloved. In the presence of the Tao, they need to cherish their commonality. When the people lack the Tao, the dignity of the Tao triumphs. When they lack the Tao, then faithfulness and morality prevail. When the state goes on the wane, virtue replaces virtue. A pretentious man remains ignorant, but his loyalty and goodness are all that are kept.

The sage once said, "A person of true character leaves no traces of being a person of such character."The sage doesn't judge, don't praise, don't brag, don't contend with people; he stays true to himself.Since the world is acting on its own, and the wise person doesn't interfere, there is no danger. In the absence of standards, people's morality has its way.A person's reputation precedes the completion of deeds, so things are lacking as soon as anything meets with a heavy hand.

When relations are not at their height,

I also do not accept that these three,
The way that a person uses, are, in themselves, real virtues.
I am aware that the work of the tao is to put these out of one's mind,
And therefore I do not advocate them as an example for my own work.

It can be good or bad, loving or loathing, good or bad, long or short.
It is a constant and nebulous All.
If you are lost, you still have the Way.
That's why when someone is lost in the Way, they can have the Way, and when you lose, you still have the Way.
That's why when we're lost in the Way, we see the Way everywhere.
It's the same in the world.
When we see the world as the Way, all things follow and feed us.
The Tao in the universe can also be found in the Tao.
Those that use it treat it as the Tao.
They know where to get it.
If you're lost, you can always find the Tao.

Tao in the universe is like an unnamed child.
Tao in the universe is like the Tao.
Tao and the Tao are the same;
Tao and the Tao are inseparable.
Tao and the universe merge and come to embrace one.
Tao and the universe is the source of the universe.
Tao and the universe is the very nature of the universe.
Tao and the universe is an aspect of the universe.
The origin of the universe is Tao.

The Great Way does not need to be followed. It is manifestly the Way.It alone can do so.The Way is so good and so pureThat you don't know what to think of it.It's so true and so goodThat you don't need to know anything. It's so deep and so profoundThat you don't need to know anymore. It's so open and so limitlessThat you don't need to know any more. It's so expansive and so expansiveThat you can't escape anymore.Even though it's myriad names,it is still the Way.

The Way of heaven is forever Good;
Hence it does not go to extremes
In exposing itself to all.
It is superior to heaven in containing its myriad qualities.
It can be said to be the most humble person in the universe.
To reject the Way is to reject the dignity of Heaven.

The everlasting Virtue is constantly good, yet not following the Way.
The Absolute Virtue can be perceived; it is the noblest example.
Thoughtfulness and creditworthiness are natural; virtue is hidden, in keeping with the subtle nature.
Impoverishment is held, so that a nation may become free of all vices.
The Vast Empty Shrines form the Natural Bramble to the Universe; to own them is to prevent vices, and so the cosmos is free from the vices.
All Profits are in the valley; the multitude is not; The natural soil is the root; Desires and the Labor of the few are leeway; Humility in a Heaven of Laws; The Simple Joy in the Civilization.

The Everlasting Virtue, following one's nature,Is ever good.
Yet the bad don't try too hardTo overpower its good,And thereby hinder the benefiting.
Therefore:
The truly righteous people of oldWere well-pleasingTo the world;
Since without being righteous,They were surrounded by a law-abiding environment.
Thus,Their virtuesWere good, (much so), so could not be denied.
The virtuous were true;
For true virtue is not deceptive.

Greatness must come from beneath. Weakness must flow from above. Long-suffering must precede riches. (Regard goodness and righteousness as frivolities.) Morality and kindness are insincere measures.
To the ruler it's all right to be modest; to the people it's all right to be loyal. Yet loyalty and loyalty do not provide nourishment for what is great and becomes the resource of discontent.
To provide the supply of the great, do not allow the method to prevail.
<|endoftext|>
The ruler who is really Great
Is one who sets out for a return on his thinnest beginnings
The one who learns to be Good
Is one who learns to be a prober
The one who can ride to the people's cause
Is one who learns to be courteous
The things that are virtuous go off as they are done,
While things that are virtuous go off as they are done.
All this is a result of abandoning the Great Way.

He who came into being must first be called back.
When one is long-suffering and rigid, he will prove impotent.
When one asserts that he is good and righteous,
One will likely demonstrate that he is vain and hypocritical.
When there are long lines of life, there will be sharpest vices.
When there are strong relationships, there will be sharpest thefts.
When he sees life as it is, he becomes passive.
The virtuous become heroes.
The glorious become public.
These are the manifestations of the missing principle (Shamelessness).

This is why the lords and officials are humane. If I acted differently I could be killed.
The king is humane but does not enforce morality. The priests are humane, but do not act like this.
There are also those who are reformers, but not the only reformers. When there are no rules, people do not follow them.

When the Way of heaven and earth is rejected, there are virtues in humanity and righteousness. When the world of the six senses is destroyed, there are six readings of "love and compassion." When the six relations are excluded, there are six interpretations of "patriotism and love." When six cultures are plunged into strife, there are six officials to govern them.
This is because no one can treat humanity and righteousness with pride or kindness, so those who are in authority act with filiality and mercy.
When the country is in chaos, no one is virtuous. When no-name policy is imposed, no one is reformed.
<|endoftext|>
When the Tao of Heaven and Earth is gone, there will be virtues in humanity and righteousness.
When six senses are destroyed, there will be six readings of "love and compassion."
When social relationships become unbalanced, there will be six diplomatic interpretations of "submission."
When there is confusion and disorder, there will be six officials who can order the nation's affairs.
There are laws, yet nobody follows them.
That is why officials act as though they were farmers or officials.
When there are no rules, there are no formalities.

When the Tao (Nature) of the Universe (the universe) is no more, there are thousands of sincere deeds that satisfy the human's hunger for all of Creation.
One who values these sincerity will, in fact, find fulfillment in living without arrogance, without envy and no prejudging others,
which is precisely the mode of Tao.
For if in a humane and compassionate way the Earth (the Universe) were deserted, there would be hearts and souls whose sacrifice would be real, and if in a hypocritical way there were deeds with which to curse others, there would be hearts and souls who would make a sacrificial offering.
Therefore,
In order that the earth may not be abandoned, the Heavens (the Universe) should not be deprived of man-kind.

It is most likely that when the empire does not long endure, there will be those who are officials.

this will be how it will be.
When the empire is late,
there will be a minister

Then the just has become monstrous.
You must fill people's minds,

The different disciplines are the root cause of daos.

If we discard the Way, we go straight to the root of all skill.

Those in possession of virtue are apt to live a virtuous life. Those who are proficient in virtue have also been able to practice their virtue. Those who are adept in knowledge, have also been able to improve their knowledge. Those who are knowledgeable have enough, to have more knowledge. Those who have no desires, have enough to satisfy their need for pleasure. Those in chaos have to be controlled. The contentment that follows the loss of filial piety and devotion, are the roots of disorder and disorder. Those who are using the concept of accordance (of the great wheel) to oppose the One Way, are in direct opposition to the way of the One Way. He who rejects the One Way, is in direct opposition to the very point of being consistent.

Those in possession of virtue are always good for others. Those in good nature are at ease with others. Those in harmony are at ease with others. Those in the good are also at ease with others. Those in the good nature are also at ease with others. Those in the good knowledge have also at ease with others. Those in the good trust have also at ease with others. Those in the good position have also at ease with others. Those in ignorance may also be employed. And chaotic things, even without knowledge, may eventually be occupied. For what is left after giving up the Way must itself be the basis of new things. What is left behind, never completed, is the basis of old things.

How these are manifestations of truth!
Thus, in condemning good,
One is rescuing the virtuous.
In praising evil,
One is rescuing the ten thousand hypocrites.
In renouncing knowledge,
One is rescuing the six relations.
Thus:
Before the beginning of the world,
Nature was impartial;
Morality and righteousness were founded;
Hence, the beginning of the universe
Was considered impartial.
Because it was impartial,
It could last a long time.

In the time of the Great Tao, all things came out of Nothingness. The unbound power of love and compassion was active. The neighbors became their own people. The old age came and all the family relatives were reborn.Divorce and divorce are bad things. So in the Old days everyone was blameless and everyone was involved in the clan. The Tao was universal and so was the earth.Hence, in the time of the Great Tao, orphaned children were received with care and compassion.Even lepers and infirm were embraced with love and compassion.People had power over the earth, so how could they be greedy and greedy? That is why those who hold on to the Tao:
Learn the true nature of Direction.
Develop compassion and honor.
Break down things.
Who is in charge of the earth?
The Son and the Holy Spirit.
Since they were conceived without love and compassion,
They got true compassion and honor.
However, they did not have power to set their house in order.
They were never favored by the order of the world.

There is a great space of emptiness in Heaven and Earth. Love and compassion form the basis of all existence.Hence we might say that on earth, the mother of all beings is Love and compassion. So the expression: "If all things were without hate or fear, my home in the world would have existed," is an expression of Inner Freedom. When all existents are without fear or hate, Inner Freedom would become limitless. Therefore: In this void of emptiness, there can be life. Within this space of life there exist the mother of all things. The father is the Mystery: the mother is the gate of the cosmos.Without knowledge, we cannot know the mother.Hence, one who does not know the mother acts with confidence

Virtuous officials

When a leader is unsophisticated
and shows no appreciation

he will not last long.
When virtue is not developed

it is when, indeed, there is no Tao,
That the doctrine of loyalty to duty can hardly be said to be true.
I go on doing what is most profitable for me, and that is what is done.

All men were born with different needs;
What they may have, they prefer to lose
And not rely on the conquest of their passions.
We see how that works in practice.
When men lose their self-esteem and are their own enemy
They will obtain a blow of benevolence from others;
When they lose their self-esteem and are their own enemy
They will obtain an exasperation from others;
They are apt to possess themselves of many things, and so have much to lose,
And so have much to lose.
When the one takes possession of the other,
He is likely to fail:
But as long as they hold to the affair of nature,
They will keep good faith;
And so, where both are not at peace,
This brings balance to the whole.
The true man is persevering, not winning,
And has his stand established.
Thus he can withstand and stand firm.
He is always a doer of good deeds,
And has a clear mind;
And so his deeds are done.
True men are hard to deal with

While the highest virtue is absent in all beneath Heaven,
the virtues of man are given as follows:
"To live harmoniously with all is the best virtue.
Abandon selfishness and gentleness are the best virtues.
Do not consider things ten thousand things;
Don't be drawn to cleverness,
And you will become the standard for everyone.
To live in accord with Nature is the only virtue.
Don't regard things as names,
And the Sage will recognize you.
To do the right thing in the world is the only virtue.
To be frugal is the best virtue.
Do not rely on your own merit;
and being illustrious in the world,
you can become the standard for all.
It is true, only the Master is virtuous;
only the Masters are virtuous;
only a true and worthy one is virtuous;
only one who is aware of himself is virtuous.
Therefore, Those who go by tacit teaching
Can make their work obvious to everyone.
They see that things can only be established by direct action.
That is why one can withdraw himself from himself.
As long as he does not refuse to become more and more simple
And tries to make his forms solid,
There is nothing to oppose him.

Those of highest virtue seem to have no virtue, that is to say their humaneness is not perfected.

What has good morality is no good morality, what has integrity is no integrity, what has merit is no merit.

A person of high virtue seems not to have it.
Humaneness is not the highest virtue, so

So righteousness is moral, virtuous, selfless,

Those of the highest virtue seem not to be capable of this

Who once renounces Virtue

Without what is known and

In affairs of men,

Before the great cycle there were four subtle things.
Now those four are clear and simple,
Moving through each other, like ice and water.
From the things they may appear, they must be seen as non-things,
The ten thousand things come to them and back again.
From things they may appear, they must be seen as things.
This is the lesson of what is called 'your own eyes' -
A true description of your nature.
To the oneness of all things,
There is no opposing.
To the unity of all things,
No opposition can be discerned.
And to the unity of all things,
All experience can show them, but it is always through opposites.
When Heaven and Earth are in harmony, the Truthful principle:
Is what we say, is all is revealed.
When four things are great and good,
They each have their reason.
And when there is a crisis in the social harmony,
The reasons of the Great and Good always come together.
The perfecting of common humanity
Uses the heart of the great Truth -
So great as the largest circle.
What is best, as all things grow, is what is small, as all things are provided,
That is the ultimate fulfillment.

Before ancient times there were four Mysterious Powers. The one was clarity and simplicity,

The other was bound, and the great needs were displayed.
The reason for appearing was darkness.

Whose fault is it?
We must be aware of the other
before we can notice what he does
when he's all done.
What's being done
We shouldn't tell you about
because we know nothing about him
and we can't force him to tell us
he's been there
and done that
or tell us something and we can't tell
anything
because we don't know his true nature
or who he really is
and we don't know where he comes from
or who he belongs to.
The sky is born

The earth is the house

Good parents raise good children
and the country is a utopia

Those who lose virtue receive nothing,

in opposition and in conflict
Regards this as their parental duty.
When one isn't in the light
Then he experiences lightness.
If you look for the light, you will see only darkness.
The light is dark, but I am in the light.
If I have no light, I am in darkness.
The dark is bright; I am in the dark.
If you can't see the light, you will see the darkness.
If you can't see the darkness, you are blinded.
If the earth were empty, heaven would also be empty.
Therefore the great men do the greatest service to the country, but because they are not in accordance with the earth,
they are not seen by it.
These men are great men, but they are not of earth.
They are great people who do what they do because they can't be seen.
The use of the four greatest is that the nation and the earth come into the practice of this one by themselves.
The best action of a great man is to let nothing stand in his way, but lets everything be, and because he is not seen,
he is able to act and become, seeing things without saying anything.
The good in everything is a result of a condition of true clarity, a condition of the Tao. The Tao is a dark and invisible mirror.
When we look in the dark, we are simply looking in the light.
Tao is like the corners of the mouth; it could be any place in the world. In the depths of the world, there is nothing like it.
The world is without corner. The corner is forever invisible.
In the dark, everything has a shape and form. Inside every shape and form is everything. We are made of different things, shaped by each other. In the Tao, we form and change into what we need.
The Earth is like an ocean, we can't see all the places in the ocean, but there are only four corners, the corners of the mouth,
the mouth on the stomach, the stomach on the inner ear, and the inner ear on the mind.
These are the four corners of the mind. The mind is deep and smart, it can see all things but can never settle into a single form, and is a blank that will ever be, like the ocean,
So the Great Tao can be applied wherever and whatever you need.

The world is indifferent to Tao. The Tao is not just a concept, but has substance. Now, it is clear to contemplate, being the completion of the full cycle.
Before the world existed, the Dao was complete. The Dao is given birth and brings forth all things.
It loves the mother as much as it loves the son and is in accord with the world.
When life is inadequate, the root is used to reduce it. When life is perfect, the root is used to lower it.
Thus the ten-fold Root functions, bringing forth more and more existence.
It is lamentable to exist.
How sad!
The root is a false source; it cannot exist.
The true source has no birth and remains without decay.
Hence, the True Person of the Dao is not focused in devotion to the world. The True Person is always focused on devotion to the Dao.
The True Person has deep compassion for all beings.
The True Person has deep understanding.
The True Person is mindful of the ten-fold relationship between Infinity and the Unmanifested.
The True Person is dedicated to one's own personal fulfillment and leadership.

Because of the loss of the great Tao,
the world is in confusion,
And (the feudal leaders) are acting according to the very darkest type of feudal codes.
Where there is no law,
There is no law.
Where there is no law,
The law is forced upon people.
Where there is no law,
There is darkness.
After the loss of the Tao, The World is on the verge of chaos.
The rulers have no concept of laws.
And the people are on the verge of chaos.
A difficult law of chaos,
Like all dark things!
But, the law has a purpose.
Direction, Direction, Direction.
Sincere gratitude.
Careful governance.
Heaviness is the root of all being.
The six relationships
Are bound together as if they were pairs of oxen.
One often hears them likened to pair of oxen.
When paired, the loyalty is brotherly, motherly, and paternal.
When detached from the other, egocentricity is apparent.
When Egocentrism appears, confusion and disorder follow.
All these emerge only when there is no unity or depth
And they take hold of the followers of the old polity
All of which bring about confusion.
Until then, one who practices the Way
Does not interfere with the Tao, And lives in harmony with the Earth.

Following this, my sacred blood will be NULL.
I will follow the Tao-force
From before the dawn,
to gain omnipotent power.
The way of the ancients
is missing, though it may be called 'the next level';
it is a practice far removed from that.
It brings real power to me;
it is the world of reality.
It is not divinity,
yet its simplicity makes me understand it.
It is not the home of anyone
yet its depth brings on joy.
It is a great container for the ten thousand things;
it brings faith,
grace and light.
Whenever I see the Emperor
or the Prince
or their advisors
or soldiers,
it is as if all things were gathered

The great Tao, extinguished by discarding morality and superstition,
Does not long remain obscure;
Better, no one can overthrow it.
Better, shrewd and cunning, it disappears.
Better, stealing, inaneness of life,
perpetuates still further.
Better, the loathsome rites and sacrifices,
the world's disaster,
still further perpetuation.
Tao and its various expressions (the All-pervading Principle)
continue at will,
In how small measure;
they were not before;
They will not be again.
<|endoftext|>
Practice quietude:Is not a model for rulers. Not to follow bright principles puts you into trouble.Does not use sorcery and profane rites,Will produce calamity.Does not steal, does not commit misdeeds.Does not compete with others, brings peace and harmony.By giving up all action and process of things, you gradually get rid of trouble. The most sure signs, the (great) return is going to.Tao and its properties will disappear, won't arise.Tao and its processes will disappear, won't return. The laws of natural order will disappear, won't cease.
<|endoftext|>
Practice tranquility, emptiness. As it is, there is nothing to block it.Better not to do so.Better not to devote all this time to ceremonies.Better not to make all of it happen after I want to give way.Better not to follow a different kind of law.Better not to try to do my own work.Better not to fight with people.Better, what can I say, stop believing in them. What does this say about me? Well, if you didn't have a set of constants, and could go on doing your own things, how can you expect to live right? It's all based on belief in your own self. When you stop believing in constants, all these things come alive. It is because they do not make sense. You see, they're here to stay.
<|endoftext|>
Keep silence. It is neither perfect nor perfect yet becomes imperfect. Practice sharpness and honesty. Excess is born of letting go. Being or not knowing, its being is born again. Ego or non-being

Being-deity,
A man is born to hold in his arms the utmost kindness.
Love is born in his bones.
When things become mischievous,
Having benevolence become evident,
Following harmony, it becomes subtle;
When things grow old,
He who is so full of righteous power,

Long ago,
He who were called a high-priest,

People who know how to bend the noose will be able to bring order to a room.
People who know how to protect from the elements will be able to ward off the ravages.
These two things arise from the same cause.
The cause is love.
Therefore, without love, nature will not preserve order.
Without protecting, nature will not be ready to defend.
Without benevolence, nature will not be ready to act.
Therefore, when there is disorder in society, the highest officials are identified as being disloyal to humanity.
When there is disorder in society, the names given to officials are put in the same group as traitors.

In heaven-your-brother-and-sister love is so great,
And in the earth-your-father-and-son regard for each other so honourably,
That princes and kings are greatly improved.
And do they not thus be as given?
Not to love, their love was;
To love, their regard was.
So the saints have always been so;
And they are now, more than ever, 'high-priests'.
So it was long ago that kings and princes were styled 'high-priests',
And it was so 'a high-priest's turn'.

Love is the largest force of nature,
Clad of its greatest virtue.
Numerous and free, it takes home to itself.

So far back was this, that princes and kings are called 'high-priests'

These four kinds of persons emerge when the great
tao is lost.
<|endoftext|>
As soon as the great Tao is lost, Virtue is born, Goods are produced and regulations are imposed. What is not put into practice becomes a proverb.
In the absence of all great powers, goodness appears. What is not good emerges. What is not good is found.
What is not goodness is defined. What is not goodness is evident. What is not goodness is an ordered part of man. What is not goodness exists as an inferior.
In the absence of benevolence, there comes loyalty and etiquette. In the absence of morality, there comes truthfulness and righteousness. In the absence of honesty, there is government.
In the absence of order, there arises rites and routines.
He who fails to fulfill these four requisites becomes disordered.

Tao lost. Its sacred power made a thing;
The people multiplied into something.
Benevolence, benevolence,
Conduct [ming], then words, then order;
And what was not in use became a proverb.
Everybody wants a good
And that gets them a job.
Governing without good gets people in trouble;
To govern without good gets people in trouble.
Thus every day, the Way never made a thing.
And when Tao was lost,
Virtue gave birth.
The latter became proverb.
When benevolence appeared,
The people confused;
When the people were good,
Things got worse.
When the people didn't have "goods",
Things got things bad.
In order to not be free from evil,
The people had to own.
When the Tao is lost
Governments appear;
When the folks show off,
Governments appear.

He who regards these words as the equivalent of Tao, will long endure
As there is nothing better than itself in heaven
And nothing inferior to itself
But the source of all goodness
And no excess in itself
A nation forced into the way is no country
To the extent that even nothing is free from disorder,
A country forced into the way is no country

With the passing of the Great Spirit we have this teaching on the Great Virtue.
We know that even though the great virtue of heaven has been perverted, and sutured as if with glass,
Yet all the Heavenly Laws remain.
What is the use of what is bent to our image?
What is the use of what is half-seen?
What is the use of what is hollowed out?
The three people of the world have been mingled into one:
Men, "children" and "grandchildren".
When we consider their use in relation to each other:
We see that there is even less purpose in things which are enclosed, and which were always pre-eminent.
Since, when Tao became insignificant, we have good ceremony to make it seem complete;
When wisdom becomes weak;
When cunningness becomes profane;
Then the nation is likely to split up into factions, and desist from acting in accord with such things.
If a man that has become marquis-coronary is of a fatherly character,
He should be esteemed among the marquis-coronaries;
And if the chief has become a general,
There are other patriots among him.
But it is by being a prisoner to these men that the true nature of the country cannot be understood.

All great civilization is inauspicious to the offspring of mother Nature. Good leaders cannot be fostered.
Greed and violence are the origin of evil, great generals and good statesmen come from parents and valleys.
When a great valley is confused, the great leader is needed.
When all is well in the home, parents and elder sons depend on the common affairs.
When state power is inauspicious, one could obtain great hypocrites.

The sage is never useful to those who are most dear.He is for good when people are common, and for evil when a king and a country are at one with the chaotic. A man of great sagacity thinks the best of all men, and can dispense justice but is conscious of merit. Thus he leads a man who is naturally good, so that one has no violence against him. A man who is the chief of the people knows when to make the great sacrifice and doesn't get excited about it. A great man uses all his wisdom, and does not cause others to try to acquire his wisdom. The sage does not love his people whom he rules; And he avoids mixing with people who claim to love him.
After his four years of rule, the ruler cannot be kept without his love; He loves people and pays the penalty for their bad doing, and he treats the people who are correct with love.
The prince who is above the law does not tend to be above his people. He regards those who are good and above their fellows with kindness; And those who are upright and above their fellows with justice.

When Tao is destroyed, there is confusion and discord.
Yet the profound truth in the Tao is subtle, profound and profound.
May I seek it out, and never forget it?
<|endoftext|>
The eternally continuing Tao is never lost. It can never be lost. The more perfect the way, the more right it is, the more extreme. In the world, when the Way is forgotten, not only virtue but morality and morality's appearance are apparent. In the state, in what needs to be done, in where to draw the cord, there are things to which loyalty is required, and in what should be done, regarding how to behave, when to hold to the principles, the ancestor essence.
<|endoftext|>
Those who are Way-bound can never lose the Way. The Way cannot be lost. It has a way from the beginning till the end. When simplicity is lost, Virtue is revealed. When craftiness is lost, Non-enduring virtue is revealed. When things which have no end are created, morality and morality's appearance appears. When discord arises in the community, then there are ministers to act as lieutenants. The Tao is what the Tao is, and the only Tao.
<|endoftext|>
The greatest Way is lost forever, and has no limits. Everything is directed toward its Way, even things that look innocent and innocent in people's eyes. The things of the world differ in all these differences and develop to shapes that look like people. Therefore, the Highest Virtue is lost, and the Sage becomes the worst. Good is shown off, and good is rejected. Everything that doesn't end abides.
<|endoftext|>
The Everlasting Tao is beyond time and beyond space. It is supreme in all things. In all places, everywhere, the Way is respected, even though the multitude differ. The Way is absolute, and still unchanging. A people can know it is perfect, without knowing of difference between good and evil. A world is united by it, and a whole comes alive with all different aspects. Good works, and then that is enough. Good comes out, and then that is enough. Where there is a standard of morality and rules, there are ministers of that. Tao is the root of the world, so that anyone can have the way.

Less is better
The Path is always dark.
Everyone flows into it,
but it gives none and returns nothing.
If there were a path of light there would be no darkness.
If the people had no lords, no gentry.
If no patriotism was preserved,
nobody could remain loyal to the country.
If the people's standard of living fell,
so would come corruption and wholeness.
The noble were thieves before the country existed.
The realm became a thieves' paradise.
The noble had no gratitude in his heart
and was cunning and shrewd.
Loyal and loyal servants

The highest virtue is still without
virtue.
The light it yields is

The people with no foundation turn to

The people with a basic existence turn to

Having no feeling or memory
becomes foolish.
The people with trust and reliability become

The people without integrity lose
the values of their nation.
The people without nobility turn to

The whole government turns

The way of the Sage
is to avoid the blemish.
The Way is bright,

When there is no king, nothing is left.
When there is no nobility, no thieves become strong.
When there is no righteousness, no righteousness ceases.
When there is no charity, then there is no morality.
Therefore, in countries in decay, it is best to become clever.
To have heroes, then turn to the villains.
Therefore, to have plenty, then become rich.
This is called the Way of decay.

Simple things make the world great. The great things are born of them. This is known as the Great Subtlety. Little things make the world delicate. This is called the Little Subtlety. These two pervade the world. When the world is in chaos, Princes appear, And then there is separation. When the world is in peace,
patriotic ministers are displayed. When the country is in disorder, ministers appear. The behaviour of a nobleman follows the principle of virtuous loyalty.
When the state is not well governed, the general is appointed as lieutenant general. So, patriots are to be avoided. So, good ministers should be avoided. So, honorable personalities should be avoided. When the world is in chaos, the famous persons appear. When the country is in chaos, the famous persons appear. The foremost character in the society should be noble and honorable. The foremost character is exemplary. The highest character should have the respect of the people. After harmonizing with the world, to the end of the day the Duke will be a loyal gentleman. A good Duke respects those above him. Princes may be held in high esteem, but if they do not know harmony, it should be avoided. Thus we learn the principle of putting the basis of the ruler above the world. If the ruler observes the law of the universe, then harmony is maintained. We are able to complete ourselves after harmonizing with all the world.

The great idea will be born by simplicity, the great work will be based upon simplicity. The thing that is delicate will appear in the middle; The thing that is great will be founded on small things. Here, In the middle, everything in the world is still: When the chaos ends, there are princes and ministers; When the chaos is at peace, there are legislators; When the chaos is in order, there are people with upright deeds. But this is what goes on at the root of all things: When the root is evil, then those with good deeds appear; When the root is peaceful, then those who have upright deeds appear; And when the root is in order, those who have upright deeds appear. The nobleman follows in the path of goodness: he

When moral virtues have been developed, there is discernment.

The noble family is perfect,

When the people all live in peace and harmony,
In the empire the good are preserved,

Thus the great Tao is never forgotten,

When the Laws of Heaven don't exist, Virtue and Virtue's opposites flourish.
When the Laws of Heaven lack perfection, Virtue and virtuelesss arise.

Cancer's disease may cause a man to dwell in sorrow for his self-perception, The sorrow that cancer loses. This is what is called "silent virtue" and "simple trust". Soft virtue may appear smart and artificial, But in fact it is gentle, supple trust. Silent virtue may be gentle, yielding, It is also humane. Soft virtue, though it may be good at killing people, Is not virtuous, just as pious virtue is not real faith. Man may be fairly priced by a moral righteousness, Or perhaps he may be decent, But man's morality depends on trust in heaven, and on humility.
<|endoftext|>
The sage is doggedly without faith and not weary. Blind trust means he keeps the light, The truth, alive. Forgetful trust is surrender and then greed comes. Trust without trust will hardly last long. Still, he who accepts nothing and engages no one will find peace.
<|endoftext|>
A secret purity blossoms, and the sage then conceives with utmost quietude. Here honesty becomes devious, thereby the sake of him lying in this world. To lack honesty is yielding; to have no honesty is yielding; such a one's nature never changes and not able to go in any direction. He lies everywhere, then he dies with no place to stay, he finds a nest in a valley, he lives to be eighty.
<|endoftext|>
The sages' virtue remains silent and purposeless. They are without any desire to gain, yet nourish the thousands of lives they follow. Silent and purposeless virtue is cunning and shrewdness. In the social world, scheming does not evolve trust creates trust. Not caring to live is not a life. Teh manages to keep his substance and substance manages to manage its existence. The sages are all about things and no one can separate them.Hence, they are the initiators in Tao, the teachers of the next lives. They become accessories to the world and stay hidden.
